She's full of Talent and Kindness!
Vani is really experienced when it comes to wedding makeup. She was excellent to work with — super responsive, collaborative, and all around very fun to work with! Definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a more glam look too :) -

Amazing Job
My wedding was last December and Vani did an AMAZING job. Through rain and happy tears my makeup stayed intact through the 15 hour day. My stress blemishes were completely invisible too! She even helped a bridesmaid at the last minute. So professional and kind, easy to talk to and made me feel totally at ease about my stress acne. Vani also went above and beyond by coming out in the rain and fixing my hair! I’ve never felt more beautiful and it was all thanks to her.
In the day photos the makeup had been on for about two hours and in the night photo my makeup had been on for about nine hours! -

Securing Vani's beauty services for my wedding day was a very easy decision after one look through her portfolios on her website and Instagram. Her work on other brides stood out to me because I saw other women that looked just like me with my type of hair too - all with beautiful makeup AND hair. This is a huge deal since I was having the hardest time finding the same after reviewing many other MUA portfolios. Being a woman of color, it can be tricky getting simple parts of makeup right - like a perfectly matching foundation for example. That's just the makeup, not to mention my textured & mixed hair. To find someone who can do both the way I was looking for, natural beauty enhancement without overly done makeup, seemed too good to be true. After my trial, I am so happy with my decision because Vani is the real deal, she gets it. Not only is she professional from the booking process to the products she uses, she flawlessly executed the look I wanted just by my description. I was pretty nervous because I wasn't sure how to describe what I wanted, but Vani took away that fear very early on into the trial with relaxed conversation. I honestly felt very comfortable and had zero change requests to the look she gave me. I highly recommend that you plan to do something special after your trial because the way Vani does your hair and makeup, you will be looking freshly made up for hours after. I felt so much like a bride and so beautiful. I cannot wait until we recreate the look for my big day this winter!! Thanks Vani! -

Vani is a very sweet makeup artist with class she made my experience phenomenal and unforgettable! I completely loved the look and felt that i received what I asked for usually when I show make up artist a desired look they come close but Vani took her time to understand the desired look I was aiming for and overall boosted my self confidence ! I absolutely loved the way everything turned out and even received multiple complaints afterwards. I certainly will be back to book with Vani! -

I had Vani do my hair at my wedding on 7/14/21 and have absolutely no regrets. She possesses all the qualities you are looking for in the person you are having do your makeup at your wedding.
I’ll start with the thing that I love most about her which is the fact that she LISTENS; if you are after a certain look and there are small details that are personally important to you (for example- exactly how curly you want a certain chunk of hair; the placement of your bangs and the way it frames your face; or even how much of your ears you want showing lol), not only will she respect your wishes and not judge, but, during your trial with her, she will keep redoing the style for you until she nails it and you are completely satisfied (though it won’t take her too many tries because she is extremely receptive and picks up what you’re looking for, fast). It is so apparent she is a true artist and has an eye and passion for detail. Sure, there are many makeup/hair artists out there who will ask you what you are looking for and seem like they’re listening, but often times their results still end up coming out cookie-cutter and not personal, making the bride look like all their other clients. Vani on the other hand will really take the time to evaluate your hair/ skin type and features, and make you look how YOU want to look. I believe this comes from the genuine passion she has for her craft.
Second, she is completely professional. With all the stress you’re already dealing with from just wedding planning, you will definitely appreciate how timely and responsive Vani is with her emails. She has excellent communication and will always keep you updated with the next thing and never leave you in the dark or waiting long. Also, there were no issues in her punctuality- she was on time to both my trial and the wedding. She did all of my bridesmaids’ makeup in a timely manner, all the while still being as respectful and receptive to their wishes as I had described her in the previous paragraph. There were no issues with payment, either.
Last, she is totally chill and open and fun to talk to. This is very important! Her kindness and her cool, laid back personality really helped to make for a wonderful and positive experience. I am on the quieter and shy side but she made me feel calm and comfortable and I had such a great time working with her and getting to know her during my trial as well as at my wedding. I’d totally hang out with her again lol.
All in all I loved having Vani and would highly recommend her to other brides to be. She is a great listener, respectful, professional and kind. She went above and beyond for me and I appreciate her more than I can express. 💕 -

Oh. My. Goodness. Of all the vendors that I hired for the wedding (venue, dress shop, photographers, etc.) Vani was the person I'd most highly recommend.
I was so worried about hiring a hair and makeup stylist - I hate how I look in makeup and was so worried that I wouldn't look like myself. On top of that, I'm pretty introverted and the idea of having to chat with someone for several hours during the trial seemed really hard. But Vani is INCREDIBLE.
First, she is so talented and clearly works so hard to make sure that we feel and look incredible. I gave her some very vague recommendations before the trial, which she ran with and made me look incredible. I was absolutely thrilled. Then, at the wedding itself, she took my feedback and her own judgement to improve what she'd done at the trial - I looked amazing and it was so thanks to her.
On top of my hair and makeup, she tailored the look of each bridesmaid perfectly to their hair color/style and skin color. Everyone looked like such an amplified and perfect version of themselves. My mom also wanted her makeup done, but wanted to look much less glam than the rest of us did, and Vani again hit it out of the park - she gave me mom this beautiful, understated look that was absolutely perfect for my mom's dress and what she wanted.
Finally, Vani is truly just a wonderful person. Again, I thought making small talk through the trial would be weird, but she's just hilarious, intelligent and so fun to talk to. On the day of the wedding, she got along so well with the rest of the bridal party and was just so fun to have helping us get ready.
Just to respond to the negative review, my experience could not be further from that - Vani was SO responsive (even when I wasn't!), so professional, and so flexible in working with my schedule.
Vani knocked it out of the park for my trial and wedding, and she was just such a great part of making my wedding such a dream! I cannot thank her enough or recommend her highly enough. -

Vani was the perfect person for my wedding day. She made me feel heard and beautiful. I wanted something more natural and she was able to perfectly recreate the look I wanted. She was always in communication with me and made the ladies in my party feel heard and beautiful too! Everyone in my party was happy with their looks. The makeup stayed all afternoon and night, all day in some cases. Vani was very professional and worked very well within the time limits of the wedding day. She was super personable and extremely friendly. Hire her ! -

Honestly, she seem to be nice at first, till you finish pay your down payment, then communicating with her goes downhill. It takes a day to response, which I understand sometimes we are busy. But we are at on the date for my hair and make up. 2 weeks before the event . I have a medical emergency that I have to cancel the event and rest for two weeks , so I contacted her immediately and informed her ahead of tome to move the event in a month . She responded and said best wishes but after a month she denied our set date and said my deposit is non-refundable, even said I have to pay in full but since my medical emergency, she’ll will not charge me but will not refund my deposit. Even contacted me not to post a review on knot , harassing and threaten to Sue. We are entitled to our option and freedom of speech- Feedback.

Please stop harassing me. I’ve asked nicely and will not continue to take this verbal abuse. For transparency purposes I don’t mind responding to your absurd review. My communication does not go downhill, as I responded to every message you sent me. You cancelled 6 days before your appointment, not 2 weeks, please check the date of your messages and stop making false allegations. I never confirmed YOUR new set date. I told you I would check my calendar and let you know if I was available. When YOU cancel YOU risk not being able to be rescheduled if I’m not available for whatever reason. The deposit, booking and refund policy is all clearly stated in the terms of the contract that you signed. Even with a medical emergency. You didn’t have to sign the contract nor book if it didn’t fit your standards. This is my business and I have my policies and regulations. I never once contacted you about not posting a review on here or Wedding Wire. I told you to stop slandering me and making false allegations or I will proceed with legal action. As I already have. So once again, please leave me alone.
