    More than a Day of Cooridnator!

    After one phone call with Vanessa we knew she was the right choice for our day of wedding coordinator. When we first hired her, we though all we needed was just her help the day of the wedding but as we got closer to the big day, we ended up using more of her services for the final touches that made our wedding special. Vanessa has a extensive inventory of items she has used in previous weddings which we took full advantage of as we didn't want to buy décor full price ourselves and be stuck with them in the end of destination wedding. Vanessa has beautiful gold plate chargers, and votives that helped complete our tables. Vanessa also made and printed our escort cards and made our seating chart board. She also created a beautiful mirror "welcome" sign that was displayed prominently where we had our ceremony. Vanessa's attention to detail, organization skills and cool demeanor really helped my husband and I focus on our day rather than worrying about what the venue and ceremony rooms were going to look like. Vanessa knew what questions to ask and foresight to correct issues before they came up. She made the day as seamless as possible. If you are looking for someone to plan your wedding from scratch or to help you out with the final details, we cannot think of anyone better than Vanessa. She is everything we were hoping for in our wedding coordinator. Thank you Vanessa!

    Highly Recommend

    Vanessa is a must for your wedding. I hired her as a day of coordinator a few months before my wedding. I did not think I needed one then panicked thinking I wouldn't be able to find anyone so last minute. She was an absolute must for my wedding. She helped us plan for details that slipped through the cracks, she always readily available, she completed all of her responsibilities, and helped when things inevitably went wrong on the day of. The worst being that my hair stylist did not show up. She thought on her feet and ran last minute errands while still completing everything she said she would. Overall, Vanessa is professional, grounding, and she gets shit done - all of the qualities you want in a wedding coordinator!

    Vanessa was an amazing Day-Of-Coordinator. She went above and beyond, arriving early and staying late to make sure everything was organized and running smoothly. I would highly recommend Vanessa to any couples planning a DIY wedding!

    100% recommend

    I needed a super late last minute coordinator and Vanessa was available and quick to respond. I got lucky she was available, up to the day of the wedding and the day of the wedding she was helpful and obviously knows what’s she’s doing. The day of the wedding she was AMAZING, attentive and more prepared than myself. Everyone loved her and noticed her hard work. She did such a great job making the day go smoothly.

    Wonderful Wedding Experience!

    We had to cancel the large wedding we had planned and instead did a small wedding with our immediate family on fairly short notice. Vanessa went above and beyond what we could have expected and helped make our day so special. She was incredibly organized and pointed out all the important details we had overlooked. She lives up to the DIY reputation and helped create a beautiful wedding on a small budget providing many of her own decorations that she has collected over time. After our first meeting with Vanessa, she assessed our needs and suggested vendors that fit our style and budget. Vanessa was also very organized and professional when dealing with us and our guests. Her planning and coordinating efforts are top notch! We were so lucky to have found Vanessa and wish her the best!!

    Flexible, thoughtful, and caring coordinator

    We originally hired Vanessa to do a much bigger, 80+ guest wedding, and our dreams for that wedding were shattered with COVID-19. We eventually decided to have a tiny, livestreamed wedding and about 1 week before the new wedding date, we contacted Vanessa again and she helped to completely pull the wedding off! She setup our new venue with minor direction from me and really nailed the look and feel of the wedding day. She helped coordinator all of us (most of my guests were actually also IN the wedding and walking down the aisle). She took care of all of the details so I didn't have to stress about my tiny wedding. After months of planning the "big" one and having it fall through, I just didn't want to plan much else. She was able to set everything up, she was flexible in meeting us, was great at communication and helping me feel calm and stress free. She was just what we needed and helped to make our tiny wedding the very best it could be.

    All around awesome!

    From the moment we sat down with Vanessa, we knew she was exactly who we needed for day-of coordination services. She was organized, well-prepared, and mindful of our budget throughout the process.
    Prior to the wedding, she met with our florist and reception coordinator, on her own time. She listened to our requests and offered some of her own money-saving ideas. She's a wealth of knowledge regarding vendors and all things DIY.
    On the day of, she set up everything for our reception venue, including centerpieces and the dessert table. Dances, toasts, and dinner were all on time. She single-handedly kept our reception running smoothly.
    Our wedding day turned out so well, and we received tons of compliments. I would recommend Vanessa for any-budget brides/grooms looking to work with someone who is reasonable, level-headed, and can help you manage the waters of the wedding industry. She's the best!
    P.S. You might be able to rent some decor items from her too.

    The DIY Bride SD made my dream wedding come to life!

    Hiring The DIY Bride SD was, without a doubt, the most valuable investment we made for our wedding day (not to mention the most affordable)! My husband and I got to enjoy every minute of our ceremony and reception because of Vanessa's role as our day-of coordinator. Not only did she help set up the venue and ensure that the day unfolded as planned, but she also took amazing care of our vendors, guests, bridal party, and parents. Vanessa's competence and confidence put us all at ease. She was also extremely helpful leading up to the wedding day. My husband and I planned our entire wedding ourselves, but without Vanessa's input and creative ideas, we would have overlooked important and thoughtful details. Thank you so much, Vanessa, for your heart to serve us DIY brides! You made my dream wedding come to life.

    vanessa helped me with my budget as well as all of the before and day off planning

    found Vanessa a few months before my wedding but wish i found her sooner! she made the process so much easier and could have saved me so much stress. from her budget friendly tips to her attention to detail she had so much to offer! the days leading up to and my wedding day went as smoothly as they could with Vanessa there. highly reccomend her!

    Fantastic Planner

    Vanessa was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions as I had no idea what to expect from a planner. She was creative and had great ideas for my wedding reception. At our wedding reception she went above and beyond to serve our guests and ourselves when we were supposed to have a buffet setting. The buffet did not work out so she stepped up. I would definitely recommend her to other friends and family in the area.

    Slight Regret...

    I've given myself a some time to decompress before I felt comfortable enough to write this review as constructively as I can. Yes, our wedding day was the best day of our lives and we would do it over again many time over. However, what brings us slight regret and sadness is the amount of stress The DIY Bride SD (Vanessa) brought on during this whole process.

    In the beginning, speaking/meeting Vanessa was good. She seemed communicative/responsive and very excited to make sure my now-husband and I would have a great coordinating process for our wedding day so we hired her (about 4-5 months out from the wedding date). We didn't come into contact with her for at least another month but from then on, it was becoming clear Vanessa wasn't entirely committed to delivering her words on multiple items or this was too much for her to do:

    1. We had agreed she would take over vendor contacts for us starting one month out from wedding date yet we were doing basically all vendor communication leading to even the day of. Our vendors couldn't get a hold of her in time and we missed both catering and rental final order deadlines. She never updated our rental vendor with the final order like we had agreed upon so we ended up paying for excess furniture rentals.

    2. She was hard to get a hold of (text and email) weeks leading to the wedding so we felt out of loop with all the decor/details and trusted she was coordinating properly but there was much confusion between our venue manager, our vendors, and my MIL (who she enlisted to help her during this?).

    3. She never made us feel at ease or relaxed during this process except our initial meeting, and caused my family and close friends to work down to the minute ceremony was supposed to begin for all the decor and details to be finished.

    I won't list any more things because it would only cause more negativity but I want to lastly say that it would've been good to feel as if she had our backs during this process like she made it seem that was the case but instead, many of our family members and close friends had to stepped in to make the wedding day happen as best as they can.
