We live in Ohio and did a destination wedding in Puerto Rico so we selected Vanessa Caro based on other reviews. We had a good experience. We let her know how many guests we had and she quoted us for an appropriately sized cake - $350 for 30 guests (2 tiers), including delivery and setup. Once we signed the contract, things continued to go smoothly. We selected 2 flavors (1 for each layer) and both were delicious - marble and guava cheese. A few weeks before the event she contacted us to confirm the style we wanted the cake decorated in. It arrived in perfect condition, beautiful and delicious. Just as we hoped! Our guests had great things to say about the cake. We ate leftover cake for days from our hotel mini fridge. I was please all around and highly recommend. She was professional and prompt and the product was excellent.

My sister was the one who selected this vender, and I will always be grateful for that. First and foremost, the cake was absolutely beautiful, exactly what I wanted. But the flavor!!! One tier was guava with vanilla and the other tier was chocolate with brandy and whatever magic ingredients she put in it. It was so moist and delicious. The Puerto Rican flavors were on point. My guests were talking about it all night. Thank you Venessa!

Picture perfect
Although I had a destination wedding I was set on doing a cake taste. Vanessa allowed us to do a cake taste from Puerto Rico to Michigan. She overnighted different flavors and we were able to select our favorite, chocolate. I sent her an inspiration pic of the cake I wanted. My wedding cake was PICTURE PERFECT. It looked as if it could've been highlighted in a magazine.

Que puedo decir?
Desde la primera vez que ví su trabajo en un expo quedé completamente enamorada de sus obras de arte (bizcochos), son tan hermosos que cuando la conocí hasta me emocione de tener enfrente a alguoen con tanto talento. Cuando me dióuna muestra no podía creer que algo tan bello sabía tan rico. Muchos me hablaban de estar abierta a oyras opciones, pero cuando fuimos al tasting se jodío la cosa, no había nada más que pensar que: como rayos escoger entre sabores que todos eran riquisimos?! El bizcocho fué otra obra de arte en el museo y un pedacito de gloria en la boca. Y ella es super accesible y profesional.

Vanessa made the cake for our wedding in December of 2019. We selected the Almond and Brandy flavor, which we loved. We also sent her a few photos from Pinterest as inspiration for the design we wanted. We did a first look of the reception space just before all our guest entered and the cake was front and center all the entrance. We were blown away by the design, which fit our rustic elegant theme perfectly. The cake itself was delicious as well. Several of our guests mentioned to us it was the first piece of wedding cake they actually wanted to finish. We highly recommend her!

We hired Vanessa as soon as we met her for the cake tasting. She immediately got our idea and made a drawing of exactly what we wanted. As cake lovers, we got for our wedding the regular flavor and one piece with the marble flavor. Texture, color, flavor, design were great but the marble flavor exceeded our expectations.

We hired Vanessa Caro through the recommendation of our wedding planners. Little did we know that she was also a close family friend (through my father's side) and had made cakes for my cousins' birthday parties way back when! Ms. Caro was a pleasure to work with. The cake everyone was raving about
We had a destination wedding and couldn't be present for a cake tasting. Two of my friends highly recommended Vanessa. They said "no doubt this will be the best cake you will ever taste". My husband wanted to be in charge of the style of the cake and taste (one of the few things he had a strong opinion of on the wedding). He said "classy, simple, elegant, and in our budget". He also added he wanted it "anything with guava". We called Vanessa and she was so easy to work with, straight to the point and had great insight on what works at a mixed wedding (I'm Puerto Rican and my husband is American Jewish). We sent her a picture of a cake we saw on Pinterest and told her our budget. She accommodated our every need. The cake was exactly what we wanted and it has been the most delicious wedding cake I've ever had in my life (and I've been to one too many weddings). She made the cake guava and cheese inside and the texture of the cake was perfectly moist. At the end of the wedding everyone was raving about the cake and asking me for more. Fortunately, the waiters took the top part of the cake for us to take home. Unfortunately, my family knew we had it in the fridge on Christmas day and they all begged for us to share it, which we gladly did. I highly recommend Vanessa and her delicious art in cakes.

Vanessa is the BEST!!! I was absolutely in love with my wedding cake!! Her prices are amazing compared to the similar vendors. Once we saw her talent and prices we immediately hired her. However, choosing a design was difficult for me because it's hard for me to decide on a design. Vanessa was extremely patient and understanding during this process. In fact, I finally showed her an inspiration picture a couple of weeks before the wedding and said "fine, no problem" and WOW she delivered!! This was truly special because other bakers will quote you based on the design (which makes sense) but Vanessa quotes on the tiers/amount of guests. This was a gift for my rattled wedding planning brain.
Our cake was delicious too!!! We ordered a 4 tier cake for 100 people and ended up hosting 66 guests. Although we had the option of reducing the cake for the guests, I still wanted the 4 tiers, people had seconds because it was so delicious, my family took leftovers home, and my husband and I were able to take a big chunk for the honeymoon which was amazing!!! The cake was just so delicious. I'm recommending her to all my friends and family getting married in PR because I trust her and also because I want to eat her cake again!
We've frozen the golden top tier for our first anniversary and I just can't wait!

Our wedding cake was absolutely simple and beautiful just as we wanted it. Our wedding was very small and intimate with approximately 25 guests (including us the couple), and we wanted to keep everything simple, without much production and pretentiousness, and Vanessa was able to deliver exactly that. Sadly I do not have a picture of the cake as I am still waiting for the photos, but I wish I can come back and post how it looked like. Vanessa is also flexible and willing to work with the clients' desires. I did not have to give much explanation but she just knew what to do. I am sure she can deliver whatever the request is - whether simple or an elaborate decorated cake. I would recommend Vanessa because I am confident that she can create anything, and by the way - the cakes are not only going to look beautiful, but the flavors are amazing! I wish I could order the exact same cake again from her and have it delivered by mail!!!

Our cake was gorgeous, and delicious. It was just perfect! And, in top of that was very affordable. We got quotes and did tasting with other bakers but Vanessa’s surpassed in taste, design, and price! We chose brandy with almond, and our guests went on and on about how much they liked it. We had a destination wedding in San Juan, and Vanessa was kind enough to meet with us during a trip a few months before the wedding so we could taste all of the cake flavors and talk about the design. She was so kind and her cakes were so delicious! We had a hard time choosing only three flavors for our three tiers! On the day of the wedding, the cake looked exactly as we imagined and was just as good as it was at the tasting! Payment and contracts were all electronic which made everything easy and her prices were very fair!

Vanessa made our cake for our wedding on February 18, 2018 (Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde). Vanessa was very responsive and accommodating, the cake was DELICIOUS! Our 3 tiered cake was chocolate, guava, almond/brandy flavored. I received many compliments from our guests, flavorful and moist! Thank you Vanessa for such a great experience!

Our wedding was 11/17/17, a few months after Hurricane Maria. Our wedding plans changed 100%. Vanessa was very responsive during this tragic time in her life. She was flexible in changing the plans for the cake when my guest list decreased because of the hurricane. On the wedding day, the cake "simply arrived" :) I was busy getting dressed and taking pictures so I never got a chance to meet Vanessa. The cake was more beautiful than I expected and all of the guest raved about how good it tasted. I forgot to mention that Vanessa also sent samples so we could decide on the flavors. I was impressed. My only regret was I was unable to personally thank Vanessa for her work in making our day special.

Highly recommended by my wedding planner Maite Canela, Vanessa Caro saved my day. I had issues with my previous vendor and one week before my wedding I found myself wedding cake-less. I made an appointment with her and she calmed down. She designed my wedding cake in a matter of minutes after I explained to her my wedding concept and the decor. She understood everything and was willing to work around my budget. She got in contact with my event designers to make sure they were on the same page and exceeded my expectations. It was such a delight that I had the opportunity to enjoy my first year wedding anniversary in NY with the first tier of the cake she designed for my wedding in PR. She is amazing!

We had the honor of working with Vanessa Caro in order to create our wedding cake for our destination wedding in Puerto Rico this past May. She won our hearts from our first communication exchange. She exceded our expectations when she overnighted cake samples since we could not make it back to the island for a cake sampling. The samples were moist, incredibly flavorful and left is wanting more. My now husband DOES NOT like cake and he devoured the samples sent by Vanessa. Fast forward to the days before our wedding as I unexpectedly received calls and text messages from Vanessa confirming preparations for the day and cake. She even sent me a photo of the competition of the first layer. Vanessa Caro provided us top notch service and the most delicious 4 tirered wedding cake I have ever tasted. Vanessa nailed my cake vision. My destination wedding was April 23 2017 and I wanted a rustic style cake with buttercream frosting. I wasn't sure on the flavors so Vanessa actually mailed us 4 different pieces of wedding cake flavors to try. I thought that was amazing! We chose almond brandy cake and it was delicious! I don't like wedding cake and I had two pieces! Many guests complimented the flavor of the cake! She replied quickly to my emails and inquiries. The cake was beautiful and I would definitely recommend her services to anyone else!

Vanessa did a fantastic job with our wedding cake. We basically showed her a picture from Google images that we thought was nice, and she recreated it. She was also very flexible with accomodating our schedule fo the cake tasting since we had limited time to do so during one of our wedding planning trips to Puerto Rico -- she ended up meeting us at our florist's store with samples of the cake flavors in tupperware! Our guests raved about how delicious and moist the cake was, and how much it stood out against the typical dry wedding cake. We were very happy with a cake that was both delicious and pretty to look at!

During the cake tasting, we had the opportunity to review her portfolio and custom design our wedding cake. She brought samples of assorted cake flavors for our tasting. I do not like wedding cakes; I do not like cakes at all…until…. Vanessa Caro’s Lemon Flavored wedding cake blew me out of the water, it was a dream! Delicious, perfect in flavor, not too sweet, not too bitter, just perfect, the taste, texture, smell, it was an experience. The look of the cake, it was fit for royalty and at the same time enhanced our personalities. My now husband was a pilot and has lived in various countries, and I as a student and professional have worked, lived, researched, and traveled abroad, we plan to continue our globetrotting together now as we joined our lives, so the travel theme was a big part of our wedding. She matched our request to detail, and it looked so much more beautiful her creation, than what we found online. She put the map of the world in gold, on our cake, twice!, and the golden lace like ribbon, and the golden bottom, teamed up with the presentation by JCA Special Events with the beautiful table cloth and the perfect flower petals, and flower arrangements around it, the cake was a celebrity at our wedding all on its own. Guests commented at the beauty, flavor, and originality of our wedding cake. If you want a cake with an exquisitely elegant taste, a look that represents professionalism, art, and that captures your personality, Vanessa Caro is the best to meet the needs of all your senses. Also worth noting, we had a last minute change in our quest list, from 25 to 80 people, we are still not sure how that happened, but it was not a problem for Vanessa, she stepped up and delivered a cake from which dreams are made of. I recommend her 100%.

We hired Vanessa Caro to make our wedding cake and grooms cake for our January 25th, 2014 wedding at the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. She was recommended by our wedding planner Maria Lugo.
Vanessa was amazing! To be honest, the cake was one of the easiest part of planning our wedding! We choose a vanilla cake for our wedding cake with one tier in chocolate. The flavors of her cakes are simple, straightforward, and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Everyone we have talked to after the wedding has complimented us on the awesome cake! The grooms cake was a dulce de leche flavor and alcohol free (she uses alcohol in her cakes and we had some guest that could not have alcohol) and it was also delicious!
The construction of the cakes was awesome and they looked beautiful! I gave her a sketch of what I wanted both cakes to look like and she nailed it! Awesome job!

We come from a family of sweets fans and expert cake tasters... Vanessa did not dissappoint. She made exactly the cake we wanted.. simple, elegant, and DELICIOUS. We asked for the guava flavor and guests are still raving about the taste. From the beginning she was very nice and personable, and once we did the tasting we knew she was the one. Great value, too! If you're considering working with her, you won't regret it!

Vanessa Caro was amazing to work with and gave us complimentary samples to try prior to the wedding. Based on our inspiration, Vanessa was accommodating and created 3 cakes (2 real, 1 faux) for me! We selected lemon and guava as flavors - which was a big hit with our guests. Beautiful and delicious cakes!!

We were able to taste Vanessa’s cake all the way in Connecticut as she sent us samples! We took one bite and knew she was our choice! She designed our cake exactly as we requested and when we saw it on our wedding day we were blown away! It was beautiful. Our guests could not stop taking about how delicious the cake was! Thank you Vanessa! We even ate it the next day for breakfast - it’s that good!

Vanessa Caro made our wedding cake and it was amazing! The attention to detail and the detail itself was impeccable. Our guests as well as my husband and I were truly blown away! It matched the decor perfectly. Above all, my guests could not stop talking about how good the brandy and almond cake tasted! And they were right because it really was scrumptious. Highly recommend Vanessa to anyone who needs a wedding cake that not only looks great but tastes great too!

Vanessa was referred to us by our caterer and wedding planner, after our first baker moved from PR to the states after we had already signed the contract! With that being said, Vanessa overnighted us 4 different cake samples, and didn't flinch when we had to change venues. The cake was SO moist, the icing was delicious (she gave into my wishes to have buttercream instead of fondant and I was so happy with it!!), and it was also beautiful. Her cake sketch was SO cute, and the cake looked EXACTLY like the sketch! Our guests were fighting over the chocolate cake, so I would highly recommend it, even though the lemon was also VERY, VERY good. I wish I had a piece of both right now. :o( I am generally not impressed with wedding cake (even though I always eat it), but I was SO impressed with ours. I would highly recommend Vanessa!

Vanessa was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator, and we are happy to have picked Vanessa to design our wedding cake. I sent her the lace used on my veil and wedding invitations, and she replicated the intricacies of the lace perfectly. The cake was delicious!

We didn't initially want fondant icing, but all of her cakes are made with fondant due to the warm climate. Cake looked great and was very tasty despite our original icing preference. The cake design was perfect and was very complimentary of our beach wedding/theme and our colors.

AMAZING!!!! We contacted Vanessa through a friend who hired her for her wedding. I went with my now Husband and had the samples and we were speechless, all the flavors were out of this world. The wedding cake decorations were spectacular, when I saw the cake it exceeded all my expectations and all my guests said how delicious it was. I got three floors of almond and two floors of cheese and guava (my favorite!!!!). No words... I fully recommend her.

Cake was delicious and look gorgeous! It was an excellent pricing and really easy to work with. She doesn't have a lot of variety in bases, but not really critical. I had three different flavors (chocolate, vanilla, coconut) and I still can't say which one was my favorite. I didn't know what to expect with coconut and it was delicious although next day it was a little "flaky" as it didn't hold together too well, still great.

Our wedding cake was super elegant and delicious!! I’m happy to have had Vanessa as a vendor. She was very professional and responsible with the time. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is that I wanted a edible ribbon on my cake, and she didn’t put it. I don’t know the reason yet, but my recommendation is that you should always confirm all the details of your designed cake, a few days before the wedding.

Vanessa's cakes are so amazing. We had a difficult time choosing a flavor so we went with the Guava and the Brandy/Almond. Her prices are very affordable and the cakes are so moist. She took long to responding to some of our emails so we found it was best to call her but the day of the wedding we had no worries. I gave her a picture of how I wanted my cake to look and it came out exactly the same and she also provided us with a cake stand which we were having a hard time with since it was a destination wedding. We had a lot of cake leftover and did our best trying to bring it back home since we had no luck getting dry ice so we're hoping it's still ok to eat because it was delicious. Highly recommend her!

We were thrilled with the beautiful ivory 2 tier cake that Vanessa Caro created for our wedding. We requested an edible flower along the side and it was flawlessly created.
As this was a destination wedding, we made our decisions from a distance, and were thrilled with the cake that was delivered for the price quoted.

The cake was delicious and it looked exactly like it did in the picture I sent her. She did an excellent job using fresh flowers (orchids) and added every detail I asked her for. It tasted delicious and it was a great value!!
