Excellent and very professional musicians
My daughter asked me for help to organize and coordinate the music for her wedding's prelude and ceremony and I knew, from the very first e-mail I exchanged with Alistair, that I had made the right choice.
The repertoire they offered us had all the pieces of music (from classical to rock) we wanted to have, and when we asked for one piece that was exclusive for a quartet, they were able to make the arrangements to be played as Trio.
Andrew, Erik and Alistair were extremely punctual and followed the timing and cues during the wedding and their performance was just... amazing.
My sincere thank you VSQ(Trio) you exceeded by far our expectations -

Exceptionally Perfect 10/10

My wedding reception turned out beautiful just by having your performance alone. My wedding guests we’re very impressed and grateful for hearing wonderful love music, which is hard to find these days. I really appreciate the professionalism and grace that each trio member showed, It truly was a wonderful experience breathtaking many of the guest wanted to know how they could sign up for the quartet to play for them at their next event which made my heart very happy. Thank you again for a wonderful performance and experience I won’t forget for a lifetime. I know that you all play as a trio and a team but I wanted to personally thank Alistair Kok for helping to make my day special ❤️ -

We booked Vancouver String Quartet for our July 9th wedding and it was the perfect addition to our day. We used the trio of musicians. They always responded to my emails in less than a day, we super helpful in picking the songs that were played, and offered a lot of advice for our day. They also provided a microphone and stand for an additional cost for our ceremony which was perfect. I highly recommend these musicians! -

Vancouver String Quartet added the perfect touch of elegance to our wedding. The music they played was beautiful. We had them for both our ceremony and reception, they added the perfect charm and are a very talented group!
Alistair was to fabulous to communicate with and was very helpful when it came to choosing the perfect pieces to be played. Any special requests we had they were able to accommodate. We are so glad that they were apart of our wedding. Do yourself a favor and hire them! -

This was such a good investment! I hired them almost last minute and I was skeptical at first because they only took check or paypal.
I am so happy we stuck with them. They requested the key songs for our ceremony that we chose from a vast reportorie. We had the duo cello/violin and they performed our ceremony requests and some songs for before and after. They showed up and were very professional. The music was beautiful and they played our requested songs off their repertoire plus one added with a fee. They were affordable and super easy to work with. Most important though everyone loved the music. It's kind of awesome to have your own special accompaniment for your special moment. Highly recommend.Vancouver String Quartet's reply:

The Vancouver string Quartet blew me away with their talent. They are extremely professional and provide top of the line quality quartet music. I am a bride that got married June 2021 and originally suppose to had been married 6/2020.
When I was walking down the isle, listening to the music, it was everything I have ever hoped for in ceremony music. It was more than I could have ever imagined it to be. Setting the mood to exactly what we wanted. We even requested the group to learn two new songs for us and they were perfect.
We had so many changes and vendors fall through from the previously scheduled date but the Vancouver String Quartet kept their word in every way. I plan to use them in the future for other events. Thank you all for everything!Vancouver String Quartet's reply:

Lovely addition to our tiny wedding!
We had the Vancouver String Quartet play at our intimate home wedding. Without a wedding planner or clear direction, the two players quickly settled in and started to entertain our guests. We highly recommend Vancouver String Quartet for you next event. They played for our cocktail hour and the first hour of our reception. They had guests coming up to us crying in joy and awe with some of the songs they played and they even surprised us with the cantina song from Star Wars TWICE. -

On their website they say if you live in the greater Portland metro area then there’s no travel fee. After booking with them they then said my wedding was outside of that an added an extra traveling fee. I was a little upset they didn’t communicate that beforehand but we really wanted a quartet so we decided to brush that off. Wedding day approaches and we told them exactly how we wanted it to go. Except… it didn’t. They didn’t play the grooms song or if they did, they played it too early for anyone to hear it. So my husband and I had to walk down to they same song. I understand the timing of everything was thrown off by 5 minutes but they gave us no flexibility. I would not recommend.Vancouver String Quartet's reply:
We apologize for not playing the Bridal Party Processional song at your beautiful wedding. The Officiant told us 20 minutes before the ceremony that he would give us the "cue" to begin the ceremony and stated that "things are clear as mud." We never received the "cue" from him or anyone to begin. We were still playing Prelude music when we noticed that the bridal party had already walked down the aisle and sat in their seats in the front row. When you arrived in the car, and the bridal party was seated, we made the quick (in-the-moment) decision to play your Bridal song. Our sincere apology to you that the Bridal Party Processional was not played for the bridal party and groom. Best wishes!
