We could not be happier with our choice to have Vail Studio's shoot our engagement and our wedding pictures. After doing a fair amount of research, we had narrowed down our choices to photographers who had great pictures but had also shot at our venue before. After meeting with Erik and Ali we instantly booked with them. Their professionalism and fun personalities made it an easy choice. They were patient with us and they have a great vision for finding that "perfect" picture. It was so nice to have photographers that are down to earth and excited about us enjoying our time and our event, as much as anyone else involved. It was an exceptional value for the quality of work, on both our engagement and our wedding pictures; we could not have expected a better outcome.

Better late than never! Erik and Ali shot our engagement photos as well as our wedding day. They also shot our best friends wedding almost exactly 3 months before our wedding. Throughout the year plus of getting to spend time with these people and have them be such a big part of our wedding day we feel not only like we have the most amazing pictures, but that we have gained new friends. Erik and Ali go above and beyond to not only make you feel and look beautiful, but are actually interested in your love story and find a way to capture your personality with your significant other through pictures. They create art! We are so blessed to have met these people. Coming up on our 6th month anniversary we plugged in our zip drive to relive and enjoy our pictures all over again! They did just what I had hoped; made us fall in love the same way we did the day we met, the same way we felt the day we got married and the love we will share the rest of our lives. Thank you both of you for capturing our love story so perfectly in our little day of love time capsule.

As many have stated - Erik and Ali are unbelievably amazing. From the beginning they were professional, welcoming, comfortable and knowledgeable. We met them at a show over a year before our wedding and they ended up doing both our engagement and wedding. I can't say enough amazing things about getting to know them; they were so willing to get to know us and spend time with us in order to make a connection that would allow them to do a better job. Not only was it a privilege getting to know these two amazing people; our pictures turned out incredible!!! Then entire day is a blur and they were able to capture everything better than we could ever have remembered. They were completely flexible with plans and times; and organized with how the flow needed to go. Another thing - I didn't notice them!! I literally remember seeing them once the rest of the night yet they were everywhere! I have had so many people ask me who did our pictures and I have been able to rave about how much easier they made the process and recommend them to anyone in need of pictures! Highly, HIGHLY recommended! Thank you so much Erik and Ali - you made a huge impact in our life.

The Vail Studio is hands down the best decision we made for our wedding day! Erik, Ali and Debbie not only captured our wedding day beyond our expectations, they were super fun and made you feel comfortable in front of the camera. My husband and I were able to be ourselves, enjoy the day and we wouldn't have trusted another team with the most important day of our lives!

We do not even have words for how amazing our pictures are from Vail Studio photography.

I tear up every time I go back through them. I feel like the day went by so fast and through our wedding pictures, we are able to relive every moment of that day. From trailing down the snohomish river, to our first look, to climbing hay stacks in a barn. They captured the tears, the love everyone shared, the wild dancing, and every moment in between. We are so happy we met Ali and Erik; their professionalism, passion, and skill set are beyond any brides wildest dream. We will continue to share their work with anyone and everyone we can. Erik and Ali are amazing! A sentiment repeated again and again by other seriously happy clients. From the first contact with Erik and Ali we noticed they were different... in a great way! Both interested in learning about us, finding a connection and building open communication that made us feel at ease. The consistent follow up was wonderful and helpful questionnaires made it easy for us to organize our thoughts especially while planning all the other details of a wedding.

Our wedding day was wonderful and I felt like having Ali and Erik there to guide us and keep us on track during each photo location made the entire day easy and comfortable... there were also plenty of laughs along the way... finally the end result I just received my pictures and WOW! From the depth of colours captured, the unique composure of each photograph and their knack for catching a tender moment Erik and Ali really have something special... you can tell they love what they do and each other!!

What can I say about Erik, Ali and the Vail Studio team aside from PERFECTION?

From the moment we met Erik and Ali at a vendor event we were sold. Their photographs had this incredible artistic quality and their personalities were so easy to connect with. We booked with them soon after that event and first had our engagement shoot. My husband and I are not big photo takers so we thought it would be really awkward. However, Erik and Ali did a phenomenal job of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. The pictures that came out of that session were TO DIE FOR. Stunning. Amazing. No word to describe them. They aren't the standard photos you see for engagement and wedding. They had this amazing level of creativity and eye for perspective that we (especially my husband who is an artist) are drawn to every time we see them.

Our continued work with them leading to the wedding was fantastic. Prompt email responses, very accommodating, and so fun to be around. A young, vibrant couple who obviously loves what they do.

Wedding day we couldn't have been happier with our service. They arrived on time and got right to work. They brought a third associate to ensure there were enough cameras everywhere they needed to be. Our formal pictures went off without a hitch and during the rest of the evening they were nowhere and everywhere at the same time. What I mean is that my husband and I never noticed them consciously but their presence was everywhere, catching every candid moment that we are going to want to see.

They were kind and respectful to our guests, very professional, and such a joy to have there on our big day.

Update 12/8/2015 - We received our photos today and are BEYOND thrilled with the results. They are stunning ... absolutely phenomenal. The Vail team captured our day better than we ever could have imagined and we are SO GRATEFUL for their attention to every single detail. I'm such a happy bride!

I would recommend this pair to anyone.

I don't even know where to start with this review because there are so many things to rave about in my experience with Vail Studio. I looked at SO many photographers and their reviews/blogs/galleries leading up to my wedding and decided on Vail after all my research. If you are doing the same thing right now, stop researching and just go with Vail. They are seriously amazing and you will be so happy with everything from day one until you get your photos back. Here are just a few of the things that made our experience with Vail amazing:

-Erik and Ali felt it was super important to have face to face meetings leading up to the wedding. The fact that they cared enough to spend that time to get to know their couples was HUGE - any awkwardness that could have been there on wedding day was gone b/c we felt like we were friends with our photographers.
-Wedding day - Erik has a way of taking photos and letting you do your thing without feeling like you have a photographer following you around or telling you what to do or how to pose. It made everything super relaxed and, yes, even made picture taking fun. You can tell in our pics that we were just happy and having fun, it all came through in the photos.
-THE PICTURES! - The day couldn't have been captured more perfectly. Words can't explain how much fun we had getting our pictures back after the wedding and re-living our wedding day through them. They captured every emotion from the day and special details that I wasn't able to see on the wedding day. How amazing to be able to see all those details and family/friends interacting in these photos. We've had tons of compliments on our pictures and couldn't be happier with them.

Every single photo taken was perfect and we still can't stop looking at them. Simply amazing work. I know how important it is to choose the right wedding photographer and I highly, highly recommend Vail for your wedding. You will be SO happy you went with them.

If you are considering using Vail Studio for your wedding or event, you should just stop thinking about it and book them today. We had Erik and Ali photograph our wedding and they are awesome! We could not have been happier with the whole process and the results were AMAZING. We all know that taking pictures can be awkward, but they really make you feel relaxed and in the end, we ended up really enjoying the whole process. They did a great job of handling all of the details of what pictures were being taken when, with who, etc, so that we didn't have to think or worry about it for even a second during the day. Did I mention the pictures turned out AMAZING?

The quality of their work is beyond top notch and we couldn't have chosen better people to capture our big day. We ended up with many pictures that are true works of art, not just another average wedding photo. Another cool thing that is worth pointing out is that we got many compliments from our guests on how "awesome" the photographers were and how they managed to blend in and interact with our the guests. This may seem like an odd thing to point out, but it really made for great candid photos instead of people running away from the photographers during the event. They captured all the little details and also many things that we were too busy to notice.

We looked at a bunch of different photographers when we were planning our event and ultimately chose Erik and Ali because the quality of their work is simply a step above a lot of the others that we looked at and they instantly make you feel comfortable with them. There is not a high enough rating for how great they were and how incredible our pictures turned out.

My husband and I contracted Erik Vail to take photos for our very small, personal wedding in June 2014. Erik and his wife, Ali, were very personable, flexible and professional from initial contact to our interactions on our very special day.
Erik's ability to hear our vision and then elevate it to the next level was incredible.

We can't say enough great things about Erik and Ali Vail! They completely understood our vision for both our engagement and wedding photos. Their customer service is excellent, their eye for a great shot is superb, there attention to detail is outa this world, you can tell they just care. Erik and Ali photographed our wedding at a gorgeous little chapel. We had about 40 guests and with such an intimate event, we needed a photographer that could capture the emotions of the day. They did that and more. Our pictures are beautiful. Erik saw amazing shots that I think many people would have missed. He got everything in a very short period of time. We were super late for our wedding pictures and gave him very little time to work with before the wedding started.. From the posed pictures with family and the wedding party to candid shots of our guests, Erik and Ali managed to be everywhere. I don't know how they did it! Plus, they are a joy to work with. I was so stressed when I arrived late and they both calmed me down immediately and made the experience so much fun. Exactly what a bride needs on her special day. My pictures are absolutely gorgeous and so many people compliment us about them. Thanks so much Erik and Ali. You are both fantastic!!!

Eric And Ali Vail photographed my daughters wedding in August. It was an outdoor, destination wedding near Leavenworth Washington. Erik & Ali were the perfect photographers for our wedding. My wife was impressed with their portfolio and from our first meeting I could tell they would be easy to get along with and do a great job. They were very flexible with engagement photo arrangements and made the whole process enjoyable, nothing seemed forced or over the top corny. They were always very accommodating, made us feel comfortable, and listened to our feedback. They also made the extra effort to travel for our destination wedding and spent the entire day capturing all the shots we would want, while never being overbearing. On top of all the amazing bride and groom images, I was very happy to see all the great photos of the guests as well. We couldn’t be happier with the final product, we have received TONS of compliments on the pictures and now have an amazing visual story of our special day to look back on. If you are in the market for a photographer, we would highly recommend Vail. We didn't know what to expect when it came to looking for a photographer for our wedding. All we knew is that there are tons of options, they can be expensive and lastly that we should focus most of our budget on pictures since they are the lasting memories of the “big day”. Fortunately for us, Vail was who we met with first and within seconds we knew our search had ended. Erik and Ali are very welcoming, friendly, funny (insert your favorite adjective here) and if you meet at their studio you can’t help but notice their brilliant work. If their personalities aren't enough to sell you then take about 30 seconds to glance at their work and we promise you that you won’t need to continue your search. The packages they offer are amazing and we didn't need to spend a fortune to get exactly what we wanted.

We simply cannot express how thankful we are for Erik and Ali. They were the best choice for our engagement pictures, our wedding day and will definitely be our only choice if we need pictures again in the future. Thanks again Vail, all the adjectives in the world cannot express how talented you are and how happy we are with your work.

From the very start we knew that Vail Studio Photography was the right choice for our wedding photography. I did A LOT of research and Erik Vail’s photography immediately struck and captivated me. His photography is more of an art really, and it’s, well...it’s just Pure Magic! The guy’s got skills and I’m not even kidding when I say that he & his wife Ali are truly a team. They have this sweet, non-verbal communication that happens when they are taking photos that makes every moment so spectacular, fun and totally natural and comfortable. It doesn’t at all feel like we are standing there trying to be casual in front of a camera. In fact, you pretty much forget that the camera is even there until Erik says something funny about moving your hands off your stomach so that people don’t mistake your photos for baby announcements. :D Erik and Ali were super flexible and really went out of their way to ensure that we were happy and cool with everything from the location of the engagement shoots, timing of events and of course, the pricing! ‘Tis true that having a great wedding photographer is an investment, but also a very worthy investment & it is even more important that you have a great relationship with your photographer. Funny thing is that Erik & Ali are seriously like those best friends you never knew that you needed in your life until they arrived. Erik will often completely lose himself in his photography and at times you may find him lying on the dirt, or coming dangerously close to falling in the river or lake beside him to get that “perfect angle”…I promise, because it almost happened several times during our shoots! :D But it all pays off in the end, AND you know you’ve made the right decision when several of your friends and family approach you to tell you how much they love your… PHOTOGRAPHERS…WHAT!? From start to finish, Erik and Ali where top notch. Having never hired a photographer before and being somewhat of a tight wad, it took some convincing from my wife to consider spending more than a few hundred bucks for a photographer. Afterall they they are just pictures right - WRONG!!! First off, these folks are easy to deal with and very professional from engagment photos up to the big day. They captured some amazing split-second moments that, otherwise, could easealy be forgotten in the crazyness of a wedding day. I am so thankfull to have these memories to look back on.The quality and style of there photography is blowing everyone away that I have shared the pictures with. Dont shop around, this is the best value you will find!

They are amazing!!!!!! Better than we could've hoped for :) Erik & Ali are a dream to work with. They are fun, friendly and such a great pair of people to spend such an important day with. They were very flexible with my husband and I in creating a package to fit our wants/needs because we were really focused on having a budget friendly wedding. Our pictures came out magnificent, and we haven't even had them edited yet!! When I started the wedding planning process, my biggest fear was being able to find a good photographer because I felt like I had such high expectations.... If you are already looking at Vail Studios, do yourself a favor and book them! OK, at the very least take the opportunity to meet with them. I can't say enough good things about working with Erik and Ali Vail. We had so much fun and they were so easy to work with. They did a fantastic job of capturing the moments, large and small, and telling the story of our wedding day. Erik and Ali both have a great eye for photos. They aren't just taking wedding pictures, they aren't just chronicling the event; they are getting beautiful, artistic photographs.

Unlike some of the weddings we have been to, they were not intrusive, and were hardly noticeable during the ceremony. They were able to work and get the shots without drawing attention to themselves. We opted to do an engagement shoot as well, which I think was very helpful. This gave us a chance to work with Ali and Erik before our wedding day and get a feel for how they work and how we photograph... and we also got some really wonderful pictures too! The pictures, we have so many beautiful pictures I haven't even been through them all yet (although my wife has, a couple times). Of the few hundred that I've looked through you can see the 'post production' care they have taken with these photos is amazing, I can only imagine the time and attention it took to go through all of them. The slideshow DVD and flash drive they presented to us to keep our photos were fantastic. Both the contents, and the presentation. The joy and professionalism Erik and Ali display during our meetings and during our photo shoots are a testament to how much they love their work and how much pride they take in doing a truly great job. I honestly can’t imagine having a better experience with a photographer.

Eric and Ali were absolutely fantastic to work with. They were incredibly easy to work with and they are very efficient when it comes to the "business" side of things. Our pictures turned out fantastic. We couldn't be more pleased. If you are looking for an incredibly talented team who is a joy to work with and will provide you anything but an "ordinary" wedding-photo experience - Vail is for you! My husband and I would highly recommend them.

We absolutely loved our photo shoot with Ali and Erik! We had so much fun and the pictures turned out great! They arrived more than on time, they bring all the necessary equipment, have great ideas and made us feel very comfortable.
At the ceremony, they blended right in with everybody, documented what was going on, made sure they took a photo at the right moment.
Beforehand we talked about what look we like and which moments, family constellations, etc we want on film.
We are very happy with they work they did and how fast we got our photos after the event.

Erik and Ali Vail were wonderful to work with! We thoroughly enjoyed having them photograph our wedding and felt comfortable being ourselves in front of their cameras. They worked with us to create a package that was just right for our wedding and cover al the details before your wedding day so that you have nothing to worry about when you get there. I've known Ali since high school, but we lost touch for a long while. When we found each other on FB, I got to see the work that her and her husband Erik did. I loved their work right away and decided that when I got married, they would be the ones to photograph it.

When that day finally came, I was so excited! We got married in Florida and Erik and Ali were excited to be apart of our destination wedding. My husband does not like getting his picture taken, but Erik made him feel comfortable and at ease. We had a lot of fun spending the afternoon together getting some great shots and enjoying the warm weather. Erik and Ali hung out with all of our friends and made the weekend that much more enjoyable.

I could not wait to see the finished results! Erik surprised me with the slideshow and I was beyond thrilled with the finished results! Still today, I will log onto their site and watch the slide show. :)

Erik and Ali also photographed my son's senior pictures (equally amazing!) and we look forward to our family pictures once the weather is nicer. I would highly recommend Vail Studio to anyone for any photography needs. The memories that you get from pictures are priceless in my book.

Vail is AMAZiNG! Erik and Ali are laid back but professional and have fun with their clients. When Erik wasn't happy that the weather was uncooperative at our first engagement session, he offered to do another one that turned out amazing. We really, really could not recommend a better photographer for our special day.

Erik and Ali were the best!!! Our experience with the Vails was perfect, from the first day we met them to the day when we received the email that our pictures were ready to see. Erik and Ali are a dynamite team! Great balance between them both and excellent teamwork! I chose Erik for our wedding because I was drawn to his colorful photographs and the ability to take normal pictures and make them fabulous based on his skills. In a time where there are a lot of photographers, Erik has a uniqueness that separates him from the others.

I met Erik and Ali at my best friend's wedding the summer before I got married. They were both very cool people and easy to be around. When I saw the pictures they took of my friend's wedding, I had to have Vail Studio photograph my wedding. The pictures were beautiful!

Working with Erik and Ali during our wedding planning process was so stress free. They were the most organized vendor we worked with. Im so happy we met Erik and Ali and they were able to help us remember our wedding with stunning photographs. And honestly, they are just fun to be around!

I wasn't sure what to expect when looking for a photographer or even hiring one for our wedding. It was overwhelming at wedding shows with all the choices but when I came across the quality of work that Erik Vail produces - I knew that's exactly what I wanted for my wedding. I was engaged for almost a year and a half and Erik & I stayed in constant contact about engagement photo shoots, changes to wedding day and time, package details, etc. Erik & his wife Ali made us feel comfortable, we were able to be ourselves and in the end we have amazing pictures to remember our special day. Their level of professionalism and service is rare to find and everything to hope for.

Truly cannot put into words what Vail Studio added to our engagement and wedding experience! There are a handful of things I'd do differently if we could do it all over again (if it were up to me, we'd renew our vows and plan another party every year), but the first thing I'd do is call Erik or Ali and find out what weekends they're free! Sixteen months later I still can't think of anything I wish they'd done differently!
Simply put: they are amazing!!

Ali and Erik Vail were OUTSTANDING photographers for our wedding. We absolutely love our wedding and engagement pictures- they are literally perfect! We loved having Erik and Ali as our photographers not only because of the pictures, but because of how they treated us. We were not just a client to them- we truly felt like we became friends. They went above and beyond to make a connection with us early on during our engagement shoot- they found out who we were as a couple and based our photos off of that. As the wedding drew closer we went to dinner together and had a wonderful time hanging out and hashing out the final details for the big day. When our wedding day was finally here, it seemed like we were being photographed not by someone we simply hired for the day, but by our dear friends. I can't say thank you enough to them for playing such an important role in our wedding day and making it seem so personal. You guys are AMAZING!!!

The photography service that Erik and Ali Vail provided for our daughter's wedding was nothing less than outstanding. We ended up with many hundreds of perfect, professional digital images that covered every phase and facet of the preparation before the wedding, the ceremony and the reception. The two were an absolute pleasure to work with, blending in to the celebration and having fun along with our many other guests. The excellent images allow us to relive all the moments of that special day, including nuances that we as the busy hosts may have missed during the event!

Erik and Ali provided the fantastic photography for our outdoor wedding! We met with them a few months earlier for the Engagement session and immediately felt at ease in their presence. The Erik and Ali duo was an excellent team to take our wedding pictures. Everything turned out awesome, and they were a joy to be around. They understood what was expected and what we needed from them. Because of the pre-event coordination everything on our big day turned out great. They are great people and were professional. Quality of service: Wow-- This is the reason we booked Erik! Knowing that photographs are one of the most important parts of the wedding, we looked long and hard for the right photographer. We found his work first on his website and knew we wanted him to photograph our wedding. Now when people see our photos, they are shocked at how beautiful they are.

Responsiveness & Professionalism: Erik is an extremely careful and professional guy. He was quick to get back to me by phone or email and answered all my questions honestly. He was never sneaky or sly which we appreciated very much after dealing with some dishonest characters. On the wedding day he was professional and all-business which was appreciated because there was so much to do. He took charge when he needed to in order to get the shots he needed but respectful at the same time.

Value: My now-husband and I shared the same philosophy about our wedding: we wanted to have a beautiful day and didn't feel that we should have to pay a wedding markup just because of all the hype surrounding this industry. We worked extremely hard to find realistic people who charged a fair rate for their services, and it was difficult! That being said, Erik is more expensive than some of the cut-rate photographers out there but the quality of his work and his professionalism made him a good value! Now that we've seen the final product (our canvas from Erik literally made people stop and stare and say "wow") he was worth it and I'd do it exactly the same way all over again! (Quick tip to save a little money: be sure to get the package that includes your electronic files so that you cane make your own prints.)

Flexibility: Erik was very patient with us as we planned our wedding. I'm sure it was tiresome to have us changing our minds about locations and dates but he never showed it at all.

Erik took pictures for my wedding. He had absolutely no creativity. All my family pictures were taken in the same way/same place. He was rude to one of my guests who asked him to take a formal picture on my request. The most disappointing thing was that almost every picture was taken with no closeup angle and all were taken from about eight to ten feet away. He also left a lot earlier than he said he would. I am a photographer and was impressed with his portfolio it could not be farther from the service I got. Most of my guests pictures were a lot better than his. I would not ever recommend his service. He asked me what I was looking for and did not even listen to the customer. I could not have been more disappointed.
