DJ Loren was seriously one of the MVPs of our wedding.
Uptown Sounds is one of those services where you do not fully realize what a difference true excellence makes until you experience it. Loren seemed to know the exact right balance between giving us space to handle the other details of our wedding and knowing when to step in, follow up, or remind us of something important.
When we met with Loren, he asked incredibly detailed questions to help us plan every part of the reception. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, he patiently responded to all of our messages, changes, and requests for his opinion. He consistently followed up, updated our notes, clarified anything that could have been misunderstood, and reminded us when we had forgotten to make a decision. Even while planning his own wedding, he was one of the most attentive and professional vendors we worked with. He always made us feel like we were in good hands and genuinely lucky to have him on our team.
On the wedding day, things went significantly off schedule, and some plans changed at the last minute, including our wedding party changing their entrance. Loren and the entire Uptown Sounds team were incredibly responsive, flexible, and professional. They kept everything moving seamlessly through all of the changes and chaos without making us feel stressed or drawing attention to anything that was going wrong behind the scenes.
Our MC was also fantastic. He reminded us where we needed to be and what was happening next without ever being overbearing. When other parts of the coordination fell through, he stepped in, communicated with our guests, and helped keep the reception from becoming disorganized. Honestly, their team helped save our wedding from falling into chaos when we were running very late and the original timeline was no longer working.
The music was amazing. Our bridal party and guests are still talking about how good it was and how much fun they had. During the dancing and reception, the team also made sure guests received all of the fun props and extras we had planned, which added so much energy to the dance floor and gave us one less thing to worry about.
The photo booth was another huge highlight. We were looking through the pictures the next night and cracking up. The quality was incredible—we honestly had no idea photo booth pictures could look that good—and the props were so much fun. Everyone got to take printed photos home, and Uptown Sounds sent us the full online gallery the very next day.
At the end of the night, their team also reminded us to take photo booth pictures with some of our guests. The wedding went by so quickly, and there were people we barely got a chance to see, so having those photos means more to us than we can explain. They are memories we will truly treasure forever.
Loren and Uptown Sounds went far beyond simply playing music. They helped organize the flow and energy of our entire reception, made sure so many small details actually happened, and kept everything going when the night did not unfold according to plan.
We truly lucked out by having them. We cannot thank Loren and his team enough and would recommend Uptown Sounds without hesitation. -

I cannot say enough great things about Loren and Uptown Sounds. His attention to detail, understanding of our ideas/vision and overall experience was amazing. Loren not only got to know my husband and I prior to our wedding but really took that into account when preparing for our wedding and finding the perfect MC for us. Whether he was checking in to see how we were doing and how wedding planning was going or jumping on a call to make any changes, Loren was flexible with everything! Our guests still talk about how great our music was or how they barely sat down because they were dancing so much and how it all reflected us as a couple, and that truly is one of the best/coolest parts of a wedding! -

Most Fun DJ & Crew!
Working with Loren and his crew from Uptown Sounds NY was an awesome experience! Not only did Loren provide entertaining music at my wedding ceremony and reception, but he and his team set up the most amazing mirror photobooth that helped my friends and family capture fun moments throughout the night. Loren and his MC Jimmy we’re absolutely AMAZING for our wedding! From ceremony to reception the music was perfect. He helped with song suggestions for both ceremony and reception, was quick to hop on calls with us if we had any questions. They kept the crowd going all night. We received so many compliments from friends and family on how great the DJ was and we can’t thank you enough!!! -

Loren took the time to see the outdoor private venue and made adjustments to suite our needs. Loren was great with communication, providing excellent service and making sure we had what we needed. Loren and his assistant weren't not pushy, were not in our faces but made sure everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend Loren for any event! -

DJ Loran and his MC made my wedding day very special. Loran is very professional and personable. We had several conversations before the wedding date. He asked me for the songs I wanted to play for the wedding. He found each of them. Our wedding was diverse in guests’ languages, cultures and religious backgrounds. The ceremony was intimate and flawless. We had an outdoor wedding. The quality of the sound that he provided was very crisp and clean. He turned up the night with providing a hot set during my reception. My guest were in the dance floor all night! He brings lights with him so it felt and looked like a fancy venue. Thank you so much for making my wedding day feel exactly special. -

I had the time of my life
My wedding was two and half years ago and my family still rave about their experience. I credit this to our entertainment vendor Uptown Sounds NY. DJ Loren and team kept us on the floor and making memories the entire evening. We could not have asked for better quality and professionalism. I cannot recommend Uptown Sounds enough! Loren knows music, and the passion that he has for his work is apparent in every interaction I had leading up to my big day. He listened to what we wanted, and was flexible and worked with us on non-negotiable things. He is helpful when it comes to musical selections if you're not sure, and he's responsive when you have questions - alleviating a lot of worries about how "everything will go" on the day of. Everyone loved the photo booth, and he and his team helped bring our vision to life for the most fun dance party we've ever had! He knows how to read a crowd that's looking to have a great time, and pace the night just right to make it so. From the ceremony music, to the cocktail hour vibes, to the reception - everything was flawless. The MC Nick never missed a beat and brought a great energy all night to hype up our guests.
