There aren’t enough words to say the wonderful things about Uptown Indigo. The space is GORGEOUS. It’s industrial, it’s chic, it’s feminine, it’s vintage… all in one. The owner, Angela is an artist and genuinely puts love into every inch of that place.
Kayla the bartender will make you want to take her to every event you ever have because she’s awesome. Her drinks are amazing, she’s super sweet, friendly and just makes the wedding even more fabulous!
Crystal, the Venue Director is a dream to work with!! She’s so organized, precise and pays attention to all the details. Our wedding couldn’t have turned out as perfectly as it did without her.
Honestly, this was our dream venue from the start and it did not disappoint. I want to relive this day over and over again! -

Uptown Indigo is a beautiful 1920s venue filled with warmth and incredible artwork. The team is attentive and always one step ahead, creating a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. With great drinks and good vibes all around, it’s the perfect place to celebrate. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a special, welcoming space! -

Baby shower
I was looking for the perfect venue for my daughter's baby shower. When we first visited the venue, we were impressed by the integration of the historical building and modern design. It created breathtaking backdrops for photos (memories). On the day of her shower, the owner and staff went above and beyond to create the space personalized for my daughter's baby shower. We would highly recommend anyone looking for beautiful and well- managed venue.

This venue was the best! We visited a few other venues before finding Uptown Indigo and fell in love with the place within minutes of being there. The staff is very flexible and was able to modify our contract to meet our needs. They provided me with a suggested vendors list, such as florist/planner/coordinator/photography/DJ and we found that most helpful, especially on the day of. Everything flowed so perfectly thanks to the team at Uptown Indigo.
The staff was especially helpful the day of the wedding. The owner even offered to pick up our lunch order while everyone was getting ready, provided us with their own "day of emergency kit", and even rolled out an steamer when one of the bridesmaids noticed her dress was wrinkled in the back. 10/10 recommend this venue. -

Look no further for the perfect wedding venue! Uptown Indigo is the most unique, inviting, versatile venue we looked at during our venue search process. It’s also absolutely stunning. My husband and I found Uptown Indigo in 2019. COVID put a wrench in our plans to get married in 2020. They were nothing but sympathetic and accommodating during that very disappointing process of having to postpone. When it came time to start planning again Duncan didn’t miss a beat. He is the most hospitable, helpful, and understanding coordinator. He genuinely wants to make sure each and every persons experience is special and unique. He personally goes out of his way to make sure every part of the day runs smoothly. I cannot thank Duncan and the rest of the Uptown Indigo staff enough for what they did for us leading up to and on our big day! Thank you all so much! -

I knew before booking my wedding at Uptown Indigo that they offered a beautiful space and top notch service & support -- and still I was blown away by the wonderful experience we had on our wedding day. The staff was warm, kind, and professional; they were there when we needed them (sometimes before we realized it) but not at all overbearing. They shared helpful insights as we were planning and worked with us to make our dreams a reality. I'm so grateful for their hard work behind the scenes to ensure our wedding was perfect. -

We visited Uptown Indigo in Jan 2019 and instantly fell in love! Uptown is like no other venue around! Their style was perfect for us and super unique compared to others! Duncan was always helpful and made us feel like family! Indigo has multiple floors and a rooftop perfect for sunset pictures (or rainy day pictures!). They were the perfect host! We can’t say enough amazing things about them! We might just have to get married all over again to party there again! 10/10 recommend Uptown Indigo! You will not regret it!!! -

Uptown Indigo created a perfect micro wedding package to make our wedding beautiful, memorable, and safe in the midst of a pandemic. The space is warm and elegant and Duncan was helpful and responsive. Every single moment of planning right through the ceremony were perfect! Uptown Indigo was the first and only venue we toured. The decision to pick this venue for our wedding location was one of the easiest decisions we have ever made. Looking back on the day we can't think of one single regret. The three different levels of Uptown offer such a unique experience for your wedding guests that keeps them entertained all night long. We received so many compliments from people saying they had never been to a wedding like ours. Duncan is just simply THE BEST and his team really works hard to make sure every detail is taken care of. We wish we could relive the day over! Pick Uptown Indigo and you won't regret it! -

Uptown Indigo was everything we could have asked for in a venue. Duncan was absolutely amazing and the most fun to work with. Two weeks before our original date we had to come to the difficult decision to postpone our wedding. We met with Duncan and he was able to work with us and all of our vendors to help keep our vision just a few months later and safer. Uptown Indigo is the most beautiful venue and has whatever you are looking for in an event space. We received more compliments on the venue than anything else and I completely agree hands down. -

We had our wedding at Uptown Indigo on February 29,2020. From our first correspondence with Duncan at Uptown Indigo I knew this was going to be the best option for our wedding. The venue is beautiful and one of a kind. It has a historic and vintage feel with really beautiful artistic and eccentric touches. Everyone at out wedding was astounded at the sheer beauty of it saying it was like nothing they'd ever seen before. We had the most perfect day here. You have to have your wedding here. Duncan was the best host. He and his family were hospitable, kind, fun, and so perfect. My friends are still raving about the drinks, the venue, even Duncan himself! I give this venue A+++++. reach out to then via WeddingWire or go to their website. if you are getting married get married here and have the best day/night of your life. I can not rave enough. go tour! and book it. you're gonna book it. well worth the price of admission. 10/10 would recommend.Uptown Indigo's reply:

Y’all!!!! As soon as we viewed this venue Joey and I knew it was the one! Duncan was so accommodating to all of our needs! We loved every second of our wedding! From the bridal suite with mimosas and homemade breakfast to our gorgeous ceremony and finally our LIT reception, everything was perfect! We viewed the venue and it is absolutely gorgeous! The roof top terrace is absolutely breathtaking, the inside is a beautiful combination of modern and industrial. The staff are so incredibly nice and laid back actually care about the couple's big day. Definitely the best bang for the buck when comparing them to alot of other places in the area. -

More than perfect!
The staff at Uptown Indigo were amazing from start to finish. They were flexible at the beginning when we were just figuring out what we wanted. They were available for the many questions along the way and on the day of they were beyond prepared and did more than expected to make our day perfect! The dedication you get for the price cannot be beat!! We would suggest this location and staff to ANYONE looking for an amazing event in the Shelby area. -

The Easiest Day EVER.
Our wedding day was not stressful, it was quite literally the best day ever. The transitions throughout the day were seamless and we have Duncan to thank for that. We were told by others that “something WILL go wrong on your wedding day” but we can’t say that ANYTHING went wrong. We highly recommend this venue not only for their great team and their customer service but because the venue itself has amazing potential to be whatever you need it to be for your event. Uptown Indigo carries a vibe all it’s own until Duncan and the team help bring your ideas to life. It is so malleable to what you want for your event and they help you make it happen. Nothing is impossible! Every angle of the venue is photogenic, there is no bad seat in the house for the reception. And it is in such a prime location, right off the main square in Historic Uptown Shelby, that it also allows for your photographer to change up the scene for photos! If you opt to only use the downstairs area for your big day, we highly recommend having your rehearsal dinner upstairs the night before. It was a good experience for our guests who weren’t going to experience the upstairs area on the day of. We highly recommend Uptown Indigo!! -

Uptown Indigo went above and beyond for us on our special day. They were willing to accommodate us when we had something come up with our original date. They were quick to respond to any questions or concerns with us. Duncan even coordinated with our wedding planner to make sure we had went over every possible scenario for our day. Our wedding went off without a hitch. Uptown Indigo is the way to go!! -

Top Notch Venue
2 Floors, Rooftop area, hardwood floors, 2 bars, pool table, lounge area, Bridal room for the ladies prior to ceremony, LED columns, Vintage staircase....This place has everything! The nicest staff of any venue we've toured. I'm so glad we found this spot. -

Hidden GEM in Cleveland County
From the beginning, like most people, you have already thought of a vision for your wedding/venue. Mine was to have an elegant place that was modern looking and close to home. I researched venues in my hometown only to be overwhelmed with plenty of options. Each place had its own vibe and wasn't sure where to begin. My first stop was with Uptown Indigo. Duncan Blount, self proclaimed "memory crafter" was such a pleasure to speak with. At the time the venue was just being renovated and there was not much to look at, only visions of what was to come. As we walked around the building listening to Mr. Blount, We knew they would create something BEAUTIFUL in the space. Right then, it was obvious that we needed to get married there. As the months went on and we inched closer and closer to our wedding date, Mr. Blount was attentive to our needs and expectations. He answered every phone call and text quickly and made us feel as we were to only ones to ever get married in the venue. Fast forward to November 3rd, 2018, Our wedding day was a HIT. Many of our guests were from out of town and as far as Alaska. Every guest we spoke to were in AWE of the venue and could not believe that it was located in SHELBY NC. In the days and weeks to follow, we had so many people tell us that they spoke to friends/family who attended the wedding and loved the photos they shared. I cannot say enough about this venue and the ENTIRE staff. If it wasn't for Uptown Indigo's vision and follow through, We wouldn't be here today recommending it anyone who will listen to us. Allison Sent on 10/01/2018I had an amazing experience with Uptown Indigo. Duncan and his wife Alyssa are wonderful to work with. They met with me several times to make sure everything would be perfect and met with my vendors even when I was not available. This venue is located perfectly in downtown Shelby with a "New York" feel when you enter. It is absolutely gorgeous and with their help, my day was perfect! I used all 3 levels, the 2nd level as a bridal suite (prior to the wedding) and cocktail hour after the wedding, the banquet hall for dinner and the rooftop for pictures and cocktail hour. I would strongly suggest renting the entire space.

I also loved the fact that Duncan thought of everything....even things that I had not thought of. The atmosphere was amazing & they always made us feel like family. The whole planning process with the staff was completely stress free. The venue is absolutely beautiful. This place opened 5 months before our wedding & I changed our reception venue from a previous place & I don't regret it. I definitely plan to have another event here in the future.

Kathy Sent on 04/03/2018The uptown atmosphere was incredible. I got so many compliments and text messages about our venue choice. We were able to save money in many ways, and we were able to plan our wedding extremely fast. My husband and I needed to get wedding rather quickly because this was our second wedding and David's father is having health problems - we really needed to have the wedding happen because his father wanted to be the best man. The full handicap accessibility was very important to us, and it was 100% convenient.
The drinks were good, the dancing was great, and the whole day went WONDERFULLY. Highly recommend Uptown Indigo, and we were so happy to be the first wedding at Uptown Indigo! The customer service was so top notch - Adam was a brilliant bartender, and Duncan was there at every step to make sure that things went smoothly (like the handing the microphone out during the speeches, and handling the moment when I marched from the historic elevator to the alter!).
This was everything that we wanted and more. I would refer Uptown Indigo to anyone! -
