Helped Ease our Stress!

We hired Upstate Sounds after talking with a few different DJs and we were happy with our choice. The price was reasonable and Jay was great to work with from start to finish. The online login helped us fill in song ideas and we loved being able to build a playlist and request songs so easily. Jay met with us beforehand to discuss details and worked to make sure everyone had a great time at our wedding! Thank you for everything!

We booked Jay and added on the photo booth. Our guests had so much fun dancing but the photo booth was a nice break! We loved that they sent us all the photos afterwards so we could see how much fun our guests had in there! Highly recommended!

Would give more stars if we could!

Jay was absolutely incredible to work with for our wedding! From the first consultation to the last song of the night, communication was clear and effortless. He really took the time to understand our vision, our music preferences, and the overall vibe we wanted.

On our wedding day, he kept everything running seamlessly and was incredibly flexible with any last-minute changes. He honored all of our song requests and read the room beautifully. Our dance floor was full from the moment it opened until the very last song, which was our main goal.

If you're looking for a DJ who is organized, talented, and genuinely invested in making your day unforgettable, Upstate Sounds is the way to go. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and highly recommend to anyone getting married in the Capital Region!

Wedding review

Jay was amazing through out the whole process of planning our wedding. He was kind, helpful, patient, and very supportive. He showed up the day of the wedding early and prepared, and was fantastic the whole night. He even stayed an extra hour when asked last minute. He really went above and beyond to make us feel heard and respected. He truly helped make our special day so perfect! We could not recommend him enough!

Perfect touch to our wedding!

We found Jay Rozell @Upstate Sounds to be a perfect match for our smaller family wedding! He was very down to Earth and easy to talk to, as my Husband and I were "older" and not familiar with the newer way of not only performing weddings, but also the technology involved, being as everything is online now. Jay was truly
very helpful and thoughtful, answering any and all questions we had. He was always professional, and available whenever we needed him for advice, as well. He came out to my childhood home in the rural countryside before the wedding (which is where our ceremony was), and met our Wedding Officiant. Jay knew exactly what to do, and they both worked in unison, creating a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony for my Husband and myself, with memories to last a lifetime! Jay is also the kind of family man that fits right into your own family! Before our ceremony, he pitched right in, helping to carry and set up for our wedding, all while setting up his own equipment! We also found him to be very flexible, as he has an extensive Music Playlist to choose from, but was ALSO able to add some of our more obscure requests. Thanks to that, my family enjoyed hours of dancing, including the little ones playing with guitar props that he provided! All in all, we found Jay Rozell to be very honest and professional in every way, and an all around good person! He was well worth it, and we HIGHLY recommend his services for ANY occasion!

Would use Upstate Sounds again and again!

Jay made us feel so special during the entire process of our wedding. He is incredibly thorough, professional, and attentive. He met with us whenever we needed to ensure that our wedding would run smoothly. He even made us a special mix for our first dance! Our crowd was up and dancing the whole night, and everyone said they had a blast because of the music. You will not regret working with Upstate Sounds.

Amazing Entertainment

We went with Jay as our DJ and he was everything we could have asked for and more. All our guests complimented how great the music was, and we also got the photo booth which so much fun!! He even gave us a very sweet gift afterwards which was so thoughtful!

Best Wedding Entertainment Ever!

We hired DJ Jay of Upstate Sounds for our wedding and it was the best decision we ever made. He made the entire planning process with his very easy to navigate music database and organization forms. It made choosing music the most fun part of wedding planning for me and my husband. He has everything you want in a DJ from props, Photo Booth, uplighting and most importantly kept us dancing from the time we entered the ballroom. Our guests are still talking about how great everything was. I can not recommend him enough!

Must Have Wedding Entertainment

Jay was a fantastic addition to our special day!! We utilized his services for our music and Photo Booth during our wedding. Jay made planning for the day easy and enjoyable. He listened to our every want/need and made sure to provide a day we enjoyed. We were able to mindfully enjoy our day knowing that we had such a genuine person as our MC.

He was very timely and professional on all aspects. We received our photo booth pictures just two days after our day!! He was charismatic but made sure the night was still about us. He went above and beyond, he was flexible during our day and adjusted as needed to keep the party going! We recommend Jay to anyone looking for a professional, hardworking and attentive Dj/entertainer.

We booked Jay at Upstate Sounds for our wedding in August 2024. Jay was so easy to work with and helped make our big day so special. August 2024 Wedding

Jay was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Extremely professional, very prompt with email responses, very patient with any questions we had. Leading up to the big day Jay made sure that we felt at ease. His website for song selections worked flawlessly. Pricing was perfect and worth every penny. Wedding day went off without a single error. He made sure that everything went smoothly and that everyone had a wonderful time. Our guests danced all night long! Be brought light up wands and blow up pianos and guitars for the kids! 10/10 would recommend to any bride!

Best DJ - Book him!

We hired Upstate Sounds (Jay) to DJ our wedding this past Saturday. From the time we booked with him he was incredibly responsive, professional and super helpful with the whole process. And he definitely did not disappoint on our wedding day. He was super professional and created the best party atmosphere we could’ve asked for! He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire night! We had many guests come up and ask who our DJ was because he was that good. It can be a hard decision to pick a DJ for your event, but you will not go wrong if you choose to book upstate sounds! We will book him for any event we need a DJ for in the future!

Kept Everyone on the Dance Floor!

Jay ran our photo booth for our wedding. He helped me choose a template and backdrop I was happy with. The pictures and prints were super high quality!

Highly recommend if you want a packed dance floor!!

We hired Jay Rozzell for our wedding DJ and are so happy we did! As a couple we have quite different music tastes and he seamlessly played to both of our tastes and to the crowd. Our dance floor was packed the whole night! He honored all of our requests and also provided light up sticks which were a hit! Awesome DJ!

Jay was an awesome DJ for our wedding! We wanted to make sure everyone had a great night full of dancing and fun, and Jay definitely delivered! Not only did he prepare a great playlist, he also had glow sticks and props that the crowd went wild for! He has a well-organized online system to add requests and keep track of all the wedding elements from ceremony to the last song of the night and everything in between. We had a great time working with Jay, he was very professional, very flexible, and gave our guests a great time - highly recommend!

Amazing Photo Booth!

Upstate Sounds provided the photo booth for my wedding and we had so much fun! Room for a crowd of people in the picture and a table full of props. They sent me all the pictures afterwards so we can always remember how much fun we had!

Great Time

We used Upstate Sounds as our DJ service and couldn’t have been happier! Jay helped us plan the night and their online system made it so easy to pick songs for the reception. My husband and I had much fun browsing for our requests. We had their photo booth as well and were able to choose how we wanted the photostrips to look right there as well. Amazing DJ

Jay was an amazing DJ for our wedding. We had to push the date back twice due to covid and he was more than willing to accommodate us. Before the wedding we had a couple meetings with him to find tune all the details, he definitely puts in the time to make sure it's exactly what you want. He was outstanding during the ceremony, and reception. He kept the party going, and would even join everyone in the dance floor. You could clearly tell Jay enjoys his job. I would recommend him to anyone having a wedding, party, anything. I would definitely hire him again! Thank you for help making our day even more special Jay.

Amazing DJ

Although we had to downsize our wedding due to Covid, Jason was amazing!!! He was our ONLY vendor who checked in with us each month to ask if we needed anything as we got closer to our wedding date. In an uncertain time, this went a long way! Jason was super responsive and easy to work with. He made sure the floor was packed all night and kept all of our guests partying. We will be calling DJ Jason and Upstate sounds when we need a DJ again!

We had Jay Rozell for our wedding in September and he was amazing! He had a system to let us make requests online and met with my husband and I beforehand to go over all the details and help us come up with anything we needed to figure out. Made my Halloween wedding absolutely perfect!!!!

Upstate sounds (specifically Jason) made my wedding perfect. He was easy to plan with, easy to pay for services (not even crazy expensive), and made my wedding so much fun. I even had a specific request of a song made for us to be played for a private last dance & Jason accommodated us. My wedding was smaller, and he even got people up dancing that wouldn’t normally dance. If you’re looking for a DJ that can play all different types of music then Jason is your guy!

Professional and Affordable

When I was searching for entertainment for my wedding, I wanted DJ that would be able to keep people dancing but didn't try to steal the show. Jay made sure the night was truly ours and kept the focus on making our day perfect. When I first spoke with him, he answered all my questions and was very professional. The planning tools on the website helped us figure out songs for different parts of the reception, even ones I didnt initially think of. We met on Zoom beforehand to go over everything and Jay was great at keeping things running smoothly the day of, like getting us lined up for introductions and letting me know when something was going on. Jay was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced DJ for their wedding.

Kept the Dance Floor Filled!

Jason Seeberger DJed our wedding and we had a great time at our reception thanks to him. We had to cut our guest list down due to COVID, but you would never have known because there were people on the dance floor all night (socially distanced, of course). My fiance and I were set to have Jay Rozell for our wedding in April but needed to cancel due to COVID. He was very understanding and allowed us to book another date in the future if we decide to have the reception later. We met in late February to go over details for the day and Jay was so helpful. We loved how we could enter songs into the website and rank our favorite songs to hear even a do not play list.

Flexible and Affordable DJ!

After having to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic, we wound up having a smaller reception with restrictions. Jay was so flexible with helping us reschedule to the new date and was so helpful throughout the process. He had great suggestions for ceremony songs and we loved his website that let us make song requests. Our wedding was a bit different than expected, but we still had a great time and Jay is partially to thank for it!

We can not say enough about how amazing Jason was for our wedding! He was on top of everything, he was there to help up from meetings to the wedding day! He kept all of our guests on the dance floor, when it was over everyone was so upset! Everyone keeps complimenting us on how great of a Job Jason did! Upstate Sounds (and Jason in particular) were excellent to work with. Jason was absolutely amazing! He worked with us before the event and provided some great suggestions on songs to help us out with the ceremony. He had everyone on the dance floor all night with the music, won't use anyone else! It was like having your best friend who knows you DJ the wedding. The evening went smooth in part due to Jason's expertise. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a true professional.

Upstate Sounds provided DJ, uplighting, and photo booth services for our wedding and we could not be happier with all they did to help make our wedding a fun and memorable experience for us and all of our guests. We worked with Jason as our DJ and Ed for the photo booth. Both were incredibly easy to work with, very responsive to messages, and more than willing to accommodate any requests we had. The entire process was seamless and stress free, which is exactly what you want when planning a wedding. Having not been to many weddings, Jason helped walk us through a rundown of the entire evening and night, and helped answer so many questions that we felt clueless about ahead of time. He put us both at ease and we both felt confident that Jason would do an incredible job, and he definitely did not disappoint! Our guests were up on the dance floor and having a great time before we even cut the cake! Jason created a really fun environment for everyone, which is exactly what we told him we wanted. We wanted people to be dancing and enjoying themselves, and that's exactly what Jason did. Not only that, but the photo booth run by Ed had our guests entertained all night. He created a film strip template that was perfect for our theme and provided tons of fun props for people to use. Based on the pictures he provided us with afterward, it was clear that all of our guests loved the photo booth and had a really good time posing for pictures. Overall, Jason and Ed had a huge influence in making our wedding the fun, perfect night that it was, and we are forever grateful for all they have done for us!

Jay was absolutely amazing to work with. The minute he answered my inquiry email, I know he was the DJ for us. He was organized, professional, responsive, personable and so easy to work with it. He allows you to make the day what you want and helps guide you. Every single silly/crazy request I had he made happen including taking his equipment up to the top of mountain by chairlift.
The dance floor was packed. He was good at reading the crowd and even better at reading my eyes!!
His brother, Ed ran my photo booth. One of the best photos booth around! It was large enough for a crowd of people. The props were amazing. The photo quality was great. All my non dancers had a blast in it! My only regret is that my husband and I didn't get in the booth together! I was too busy on the dance floor!

I don't think I can say enough about how great Jay was and how amazing it was to work with him. He had the perfect balance of being a true expert in this field yet still knew how to have a great time. He was very thorough in helping us plan for the big day which I appreciated because he was both very willing to listen to what we wanted but also brought a lot of great ideas to the table that made the wedding something extra special. I also definitely appreciated that Upstate Sounds has an online portal where you can browse songs and a do a lot of your selections there, which really made the process stress free. The day of he played a great set, really listened to what the crowd wanted but also had a great variety of songs - never a boring moment. Best part, he even got out there and danced with some of the guest, teaching people how to dance to some of the songs which my guests are still raving about. The dance floor was never empty and that was in large due to him. If you want to have a party your guests will always remember book Upstate Sounds for sure, Jay was the best!!

Jason is a good friend of mine and I thought of going to no one else to be the DJ for my wedding. He has the perfect voice and tone, commands the floor, and plays the sickest music so everyone has a great time. I completely recommend him and his brother to anyone getting married who needs a DJ.

Jason was a joy to work with. We met with hime about a month before wedding this is after plenty of talk through email and txt. And he just unloaded a ton of stress right when we needed it. Can't say enough about DJ Jason Seeberger! He was the MC of our reception and kept the guests up and moving the entire night. He read the crowd and played to them. When we first started looking for a DJ for our wedding we looking everywhere, read reviews, check out websites till our heading was spinning. Such a great choice! We found upstate sounds after searching around awhile. We wanted one company that could do both the photo booth and DJ. We felt like we were in good hands through the entire process. Ed worked overtime to come up with a photo strip design that we fell in love with. We liked that we got to work with him to come up with something completely different from any other couples. Jay went over all the song choices, confirmed everything with us, kept the dance floor moving the whole time. He also designed a monogram to shine on the dance floor which our guests thought was so classy. We also went with the uplighting which literally set the mood. Everything was outstanding. Thanks.

Wow! Just wow! Expectations completely exceeded. Extremely professional. You can tell these guys take a lot of pride in what they do. Their lighting completely made our venue look AMAZING!!! Do yourself a favor and get their upgraded lighting package. We also had so much fun in the photo booth. It reminds me of an ipod. It's nicer than any we've seen at other weddings. The props are a blast, and pictures are professional quality.

We hired upstate sounds for our wedding on 9/16. Jay was amazing. He did a complete color wash with the uplighting, monogram on the dance floor, set up outside for the ceremony and inside for reception. By far the best and he made our great wedding awesome and perfect.

We used Upstate Sounds for their Photobooth rental and it was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding day. Our guests had an absolute blast dressing up and taking pictures all night, and the best part was we went home that night with an album full of memories and notes from our guests. These guys bring the party! We hired upstate sounds to dj and they provided their photo booth. We've been to a few weddings with photo booths, and nothing compares to this one. Its so modern! Every guest at our wedding came up to us and at one point and time during the night to rave about the Dj and the Photo booth! The dance floor was packed from start to end with a variety of age appropriate songs as there were children attending. The dancing went on all night long with an arsenal of over 50,000 songs Jason Seeberger took us for a ride we didn't want to get off of! He also called all the plays from intros father daughter dances and to cutting the cake. There were never any awkward silences or hiccups throughout the entire night. Then there comes this legendary new school photo booth. It's a real deal camera that gives you a live screen to view yourself and a five second count before it shoots. That way you can find the perfect pose every time and if you don't get it right the first time you have two more five second shots coming up for a total of three! With an array of props any image is possible! After the photos are taken you can get a print out or you can text them email them or post them directly on your favorite social media. These are on high resolution paper from a high resolution camera and you can customize the look of the print outs by color words and logos? Ours had our names with two birds on a twig with grey and teal. You can also choose the color of the back drop with more options to choose from than the drapery aisle at home depot! The Captain of this photo booth is the calm cool collected Ed Rozell. He is professional polite and very willing to take your photos all night long. They're young they're experienced and the number one thing that we noticed is that they are just as excited to be a part of your big day as you are! That energy is real and it's contagious! Jay and Ed were absolutely wonderful to work with! They both were so great with communicating by email and phone, and even met with us halfway to go over the plan for the day in person. They are about two hours from our location, but they were able to be so accommodating. Jay, the DJ, was awesome! The music was great, he was so much fun, he really kept the party going. Ed and the photobooth were perfect, the pictures and guest book are hilarious and such wonderful memories. Ed was super patient helping me with different options for photostrips, which was a really nice touch. I would choose these guys again in a heartbeat! What can I say about Upstate Sounds that all the other brides haven't? I can say I was so happy we chose them for our big day. I did not have to worry about a thing. Jay and Ed are incredibly professional but more than that they are kind. They will give you a hand with anything you need. They will find you any song or mix you want. They will listen to every crazy request you have about lighting or dance floor monograms. They do this all with no complaint. These guys got every single detail (and there were lots of them) right. Jay kept me on schedule during the reception (which gets so hectic). Ed manned the photobooth. Do yourself a favor - GET THE PHOTOBOOTH. You will love it. Our guests loved it. It was such a fun add on and the photos are a great favor. The actual pictures are such high quality (I have been in lots of photobooths and this is head and shoulders the most modern w/ best shots). Ed has about a million backdrops to choose from. He is also full of ideas. Especially about design. If you hire Upstate Sounds you have put yourself in good hands. We hired Jason S. for our October wedding in Altamont. He was always available to answer questions and when the big day came, he played all of our requested songs and kept everyone out of their seat. After meeting with what seemed like a ton of DJ's and photo booth people, We found Upstate Sounds. Right from the very beginning I had a good feeling. When It came to working with Upstate Sounds for our wedding, it was nothing short of perfect. Very Pleased! My fiance' and I got married in January and from the moment leading up to our wedding, Jay and Ed we're great with us. The had alot of special music requests that we were easily able to add in their online planning system which was super helpful. Jay edited some of our ceremony music so everything was perfect like we wanted. We went with the premium lighting package with our names lighting the dance floor and purple lighting around the room. This ended up transforming our venue completely. Everyone commented on how elegant it looked. When it came to the photo booth, our photo strips looked so nice. Ed was able to incorporate our colors and theme into the template and our guests LOVED them. He was really quick on getting our pics to us. We can say without reservation Upstate Sounds helped make our day perfect.

Our experience with Jay was great. He was able to answer a lot of questions we had and was over the top on our wedding day. He kept us on track through the night. Its easier to lose track of time than you would think. Everyone raved how much fun they had. The music and the night flowed great. Thanks for everything.

Our wedding rocked! We decided to go with Upstate Sounds after attending a wedding they provided entertainment for. They did a great job, so we knew what to expect. We worked with Ed and Jay who worked very hard to make our day one of a kind. 100% satisfied! We went with upstate sounds for our entertainment. My fiance and I got married this past Friday in Albany and we worked with Jay and Ed. Absolutely wonderful. We went with Upstate Sounds for our wedding in November. Their online system and props were awesome! Got all of our priority requests in. Also provided ceremony music as well. 5 stars all around! We had a great time. Highly recommended.

Upstate Sounds was awesome!! Music was a concern of mine because I wanted to make sure that everyone was dancing and having a good time! Jay Rozell was our DJ and he had people on the dance floor all night!! They were super easy to work with and a few weeks before we even decided to add on their Photo Booth package and we are so happy that we did! Everyone loved it!! We can't thank Upstate Sounds enough for making our wedding day a blast! Our DJ, Jay, was professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our big day. Upstate Sounds uses an awesome computer program were you can program in music choices from your first dance song to your last dance song. We really enjoyed being able to look through their large selection of music at home. At our meeting, Jay went through every detail of our wedding day with us and also took the time to confirm that their weren't any changes a few days prior. He took care of many small details including providing a gift to our guests who had been married the longest after the anniversary dance, and providing glow sticks to our guests later into the evening. This was so nice for me as a busy bride. Everyone had a blast dancing at our wedding and we were so happy to have Upstate Sounds be part of our day!

Jason did a tremendous job!! We discussed what music we wanted and music that we didn't want to hear. He was consistent with what we talked about, and made sure that all age groups were up dancing!!

We worked with Jay Rozell from Upstate Sounds and we could not be more pleased with the services we received. Let me first start off by saying how amazing his online planning tools are! My now husband and I are very picky when it comes to music, and we were able to pick all the songs we wanted and put them into different categories (such as priority, do not play, etc.). They also have a form to fill out for all the details of the night, like the entrance song, bouquet toss song, first dance song, etc., which makes it really easy to keep everything organized. I was unable to meet with him in person, but I was still able to talk to him face to face a few weeks before the wedding via Skype, where he went over EVERY single detail. He then called again a few days before the wedding to go over everything again quickly and just to make sure nothing has changed. Then came the day of the wedding; he was set up exactly how we wanted him to be even though he had never been to our venue before. He kept us on schedule all night, and kept the dance floor full. He brings some awesome props, so if you have kids at your wedding they will have an absolute blast (adults too :) ). He even went out on the dance floor a few times to teach our guests the dance moves! I would highly recommend Upstate Sounds to anyone who is looking for a DJ for their wedding, you won't regret it!!

Jason Seeberger rocked!!!! He was very professional and got everyone up and dancing all night long. He played great music that kept everyone out on the dance floor and every song that was requested he had. We are beyond satisfied with the great night of entertainment at our banquet and look forward to partying with him again next year!!!!

Jason Seeberger was our wedding DJ from Upstate Sounds and he was really energetic, yet totally professional. He was very flexible working with our schedule of events at our non-traditional backyard wedding. We met with him several weeks prior to the wedding to iron out every detail, and he had lots of great suggestions as well. Loved the sunglasses, hats, and glowstick props! Would hire him again.

We had a great experience with Jay! We had asked for a mix of music and he got my husband and I to a point. The music was times perfectly and the dance floor was always full! The props were awesome! Thank you!!!!!
