After debating using fake florals to save money, we decided to hire University Florist relatively late in the planning process, and are so happy we did! University Florist provided beautiful flowers at a reasonable, transparent price. Further, they were able to work with our budget, and never once made us feel like we needed to spend more than we were comfortable with. Carolyn and her team were able to execute my vision without too much instruction. Carolyn was also willing to have an in person meeting with us at the venue a few months prior, which was very helpful.
The booking and quoting isn’t the most tech-savvy process (everything done via email or on word docs basically) but don’t let this deter you. University Florist was very responsive and would respond to all emails in a timely manner.
I was very happy with the final product and service that day, and would hire University Florist again!

Wedding Florist
Carolyn and her team did a wonderful job on the personal flowers and venue decor for our daughter’s wedding! She was patient with us during the planning process and offered great advice on our decor. We were blown away by how beautiful everything looked! Would highly recommend! -

Wow! My flowers were perfect!
Carolyn and the team at University Florist blew me away! They created a gorgeous bouquet and boutonniere for my (now) husband and I for our Blue Ridge elopement on 10/28/2020. I was staying in Lexington as an out of town guest for my elopement so my entire flower order was created from a distance. Carolyn was so attentive and professional in connecting with me on the phone and over email in order to capture my ideal bouquet style and color palette. The ordering process was so easy and efficient- it took a lot of stress off my plate! I picked up the flowers the morning of my ceremony and could not have been more happy with the quality and creativity from the University Florist team. The flowers were amazing and made for such a special detail on our wedding day! -

I am not sure where to even begin writing this wedding review for Carolyn and her team at University Florist located in Lexington, Virginia.
Carolyn did my flowers for my wedding at House Mountain and The Irvine Estate. It was everything I could have ever wanted and more.
Carolyn blew me away in every aspect. She is VERY detail oriented and organized. I myself work in the event business I knew that planning my wedding would be "my best event". I am a type A person and was that typical bride who wanted it all. And more. Flowers were the focal point at my wedding. For the most part, I came with a plan of what I thought I wanted and liked. Carolyn took my plan and elevated it.
Carolyn made me feel special. I felt like she heard what I was wanting, and did more. She provided flowers for the pergola, my bridal party, decorated wine barrel arrangements, and everything you could think about for a reception.
I can't express how happy I was on my wedding day and how many compliments I received on our wedding flowers. Please please choose Carolyn. Don't hesitate to pick University Florist. You will not be disappointed. Carolyn is a true find and you will be finding yourself thanking her for doing your wedding.

We hired University Florist and Greenery to create our wedding flowers. Carolyn was awesome to work with and the flowers turned out perfectly. The flowers were high quality and exactly what I was picturing. Carolyn was able to turn my dream flowers into reality. They knew our venue, House Mountain Inn, really well so she was able to help guide our choices. She is also super real and told me ways I could save money instead of her charging me more. -

I had a wonderful experience working with Carolyn. Because my husband and I planned our wedding remotely, I actually did not meet Carolyn until two days before the Big Day. I had reached out to Carolyn several months prior after reading the numerous great reviews online. She and I kept in touch throughout the months leading up to my wedding and, during this time, she helped me articulate what I was looking for. When I saw the floral arrangements on the morning of my wedding day, I nearly cried; they were gorgeous! Not only were the flowers absolutely stunning, but they reflected my wedding colors perfectly. I highly recommend Carolyn because she is great to interact with and because she does truly breathtaking work. -

Katie Sent on 11/16/2017Carolyn and George were the easiest part of wedding planning for me and my husband. They were so responsive to all my needs and ideas for our wedding at Big Spring Farm. During the planning process, they were both very flexible in changing the bid around and giving accurate quotes, as well as advising what flowers would be must cost effective. Carolyn helped turn the barn and ceremony site into our own! The price was very reasonable and my flower stayed gorgeous for days after. I highly recommend this florist for whatever your needs are!! She always responded very quickly to my emails and explained things in great detail. She was very familiar with my wedding venue House Mountain Inn and had so many amazing ideas to make my wedding day look beautiful. The flowers were all delivered and set up making it super easy for me on my wedding day. The flowers were so fresh and absolutely stunning! Carolyn made my wedding vision a dream come true exactly as she promised at a very reasonable price! I 100% recommend her to everyone for their florist needs!

Tiffany Sent on 01/20/2018I am very pleased with the flowers that University put together. I had a small budget for flowers ($1500) and they helped me the get most out of it. I was able to repurpose the bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces to cut down on cost. Carolyn also told me where I could by my candles inexpensively to help make the most of my budget. What i appreciated most is that when I gave her my budget, She made it work (including labor, tax, delivery, etc) so i felt very heard! When they do a wedding, they only do 1 per day so that their full attention is on you, no matter your budget. My bouquet was gorgeous and most importantly she was able to incorporate a piece of my grandmother's wedding dress and made it beautiful...This was a very important detail to me. She was honest and did what was best for the flowers and explained to me how to keep the flowers fresh, longest and I certainly appreciated that too! Highly recommend in Lexington, VA!
