    Made our day perfect!

Union Station was the perfect venue for our July wedding. Neil was amazing and made the whole process seamless. My husband and I were planning from 2000 miles away, but Neil’s communication was incredible and made us feel like there was no distance. We’re not huge fans of cake, so he recommended a s’mores bar instead, which was absolutely delicious and so fun!

The team was fantastic on the actual wedding day, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was beautiful. We had a breakfast the next day, and the staff was just as attentive and wonderful as they were during the main event. Union Station was such a huge part of what made our day so special and stress-free, and I cannot recommend them enough!

    Five-star planning & management

We got married at Union Station back in June, and it really was a perfect day (and weekend). Right from our first introduction to USB, Neil was responsive, accommodating, and calm. He made us feel confident that we had found the right venue for our wedding and was exceptional all the way through execution of a perfect event. Robert and Andrei were assigned to be our right-hand guys from pre-ceremony all the way up to the after party, and they made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We received endless compliments from our guests—the beauty of the venue, the perfectly-cooked food, even the elegance of the serving staff delivering and placing each table’s meals all at once—it was a true five-star event the whole way through. We also were able to take advantage of Platform Sports Bar for a welcoming reception for our guests the night before our wedding, and we used the Tunnel Loft behind the banquet hall/above Tunnel Bar for our after-party. Neil was involved with planning all these events and provided a turnkey service for the whole weekend. For anyone considering a wedding (or other event) at Union Station, we cannot recommend them enough!

    Look no further!

If you have already visited Union Station during your wedding venue search, then you most likely have it listed as a top contender on your list of tentative venues, and if you have not visited Union Station yet, we highly advise you to reach out to Neil (Union Station's event director) and go check out the space.,.you will NOT regret it! During the whole planning process, Neil was extremely responsive with all communication, and was very helpful when it came to organizing and working with our other vendors (baker, florist, band, photographer). The bridal suite and conference room area upstairs of the Roosevelt Room worked perfectly for my large group of girls (9 bridesmaids, 3 moms) to get ready the morning of our wedding. We were able to arrive early to have hair and makeup done on site - 3 hairstylists and 2 makeup artists fit more than comfortably in the conference room, and the space has awesome natural light for these services! We loved that Union Station has preferred vendors that know the venue and already have a great relationship with the Union Station team, making it one less thing to have to worry about come the day of your wedding. We worked with Mauro at La Fiorentina, and Heather at Durocher Florist, and they were such a wealth of knowledge and so flexible working with what we wanted, making it a breeze to cross off the cake and flowers from our "to do" list! We knew from the start of wedding planning that we wanted a band vs. a DJ; the Roosevelt Room has the perfect layout to accommodate a band and dancing without feeling cramped - we had 145 guests and a 7-piece band. You 100% will be in the best hands when you book your wedding at Union Station. Our family and friends are still talking about how unique the space is, how delicious the food was, and how "top notch" the staff was! It truly was the most perfect day, and we will forever be grateful for the entire Union Station team for being a part of it!!

    Wonderfully inclusive historic venue

After researching and comparing close to 60-70 locations for our wedding in the Boston area, we made Union Station the first of three we visited in person and were instantly wow'd by the historical feeling and character of the venue. Union Station bundled all of the catering, table/chairs, cake & floral contacts, staging areas, and almost everything else for a fantastic price. It was perfect for us to have a venue that could manage so much of the stuff that often is piece-meal at other locations. Neil was the perfect event director - he was everything you could want and more and we have only great things to say about him. He led us through each step of the planning process and his recommendations were always spot on. He worked with the bakery to ensure we got the exact cake we wanted and helped us pull together last minute things like missing place cards and a possible timeline shift due to late flights. The day-of staff members (especially Andre and Robert) were also very helpful and professional and allowed us to enjoy the day without having to worry about the details. They ensured we were fed and had drinks in our hands throughout the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. They even helped pack up the decor at the end of the night. We both had an amazing time during the wedding and have zero negatives about our experience! We recommend the Roosevelt Room at Union Station 100%!

Could not have asked for a better venue

Everything about union station was more perfect than we ever could have wished for. First off, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. We provided almost no decorations because it really wasn’t needed. The staff was phenomenal. The coordinator, Neil, went above and beyond at all stages of planning and on the day itself. He responded quickly to any questions I had and was always very helpful. We had our rehearsal dinner at union station as well and he kept the whole weekend running so smoothly I never had to give a thought to anything other than enjoying the day. The entire staff was amazing but I also wanted to mention how truly wonderful Robert and Andrei were. Any time we needed anything at all they were there before we even realized we needed it and both went above and beyond to make our day truly perfect. I cannot recommend union station enough and feel so incredibly lucky we found this venue for our wedding.

    The most wonderful staff ever!

We had our ceremony and reception at Union Station this past weekend, and words cannot do justice to how wonderful the staff at this venue were throughout the entire event. We had a few really specific considerations when we were on the hunt for a venue, primarily that we wanted to have an all-vegan menu. Union Station was the one place that seemed not only able to accommodate that wish, but actively excited about the opportunity to explore vegan options with us, and the food at both our tasting and the wedding was AMAZING. All of our guests were so impressed! We were also able to have three signature drinks and pick two draft options, all of which were a big hit with our guests thanks to the great bar staff. Neil, the on-site coordinator, was responsive and helpful throughout the planning process and handled the setup of the decor/guest book etc on the day -of so that we could focus on getting ready. And we also can't say enough good things about Robert, our head waiter; he went above and beyond to make our day perfect, from helping our photographer get the perfect autumn shot by throwing leaves at us off-camera (and then picking the leaves out of our dress trains!) to overseeing the structure of the day, to simply checking in and bringing us whatever we needed! Another member of the staff expertly assisted with the bustling of our dresses, and every other staff person we worked with throughout the day was absolutely lovely. Our guests were floored by the kindness and attentiveness of everyone working that day. From coordinating with our other vendors to plating our five-course dinner, Union Station made every potentially difficult task an absolute walk in the park. The space itself is also one of the most beautiful and functional venue spaces in the area. We were able to use the bridal suite for the entire day, which made getting ready so much easier. We used the atrium for a photobooth and guest book area, and it was great to have a separate, slightly quieter space for that sort of thing. I will tell everyone I know to use this venue for their events; it's the perfect combo of a beautiful space and rock-star staff.

    Amazing experience!

We were thrilled with our wedding at Union Station! Having experienced two weddings there (ours and another as guests), we couldn’t give the venue a stronger recommendation.

We went to my cousin’s wedding at Union Station several months before getting engaged, and we were immediately drawn to the unique space. It was once a fully functioning train station, and they were able to keep much of the original brick work, lamp posts, and other features. It adds a lot of character to the space, and it requires very little additional decoration. We also were drawn to the food – everyone has suffered through subpar wedding food over the course of their lives, but our meals (and the general consensus among guests) was that the food was restaurant-quality. Particularly high marks for the salmon.

When we selected Union Station as our venue the following year, we couldn’t have been more impressed with the coordinator, Neil. He is professional and knowledgeable, but also has a very laid-back and approachable demeanor. Throughout the entire experience, he was accommodating and flexible. I don’t think he said “no” once to us during the entire planning process. He also had very helpful suggestions along the way, and we were confident in his advice and guidance. Neil was truly a pleasure to work with.

On the day of the wedding, we were pleased to arrive at the venue and find out that decorations were already set up exactly as specified, and that all deliveries were complete and organized. We were introduced to Rob, who was at our side throughout the entirety of the reception. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He effortlessly coordinated to reserve space and usher us into Tunnel Bar for photos (after 6pm on a Friday), offered advice through the night, and helped make sure that we had a full drink (if we wanted it). There is a lot going on during your wedding, and it meant the world to have Rob and Neil available for us to lean on and ask for suggestions. They made sure that every need was taken care of.

These are just a few of the many benefits of choosing Union Station. They contract with two local florists to provide the centerpieces to your specification (we were very pleased), and they even include the cake (Greggory’s was fantastic). Pricing was very reasonable, and we never felt like we were being upsold.

We are so happy that we chose Union Station as the venue for our special day.

(Full team of day-of vendors: Absolute Entertainment for DJ, Brian Marsh for photography, Anya Drew for videographer, Forget Me Not for florist, Greggory’s for cake, Creative Weddings (Rev. Liz Zielinski) for officiant, and Epic Salon for hair and makeup.)

You won’t regret having your wedding at Union station!!!

If you are skeptical about booking the Roosevelt room, DO IT. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. Neil, their wedding coordinator, was an absolute dream. He was with me every step of the way and made sure all our bases were covered. He helped coordinate the flowers, wedding cake, rehearsal, meals, signature drinks, the list goes on!! Not to mention the fact that this place was all inclusive for the most part. One contact for wedding cake, flowers, food and drinks? YES PLEASE. Made my life SOOO much easier. This place needs no decor, it is so beautiful on its own and it’s in a great location. Lots of bars, restaurants, and hotels are within walking distance. The staff here was fabulous and everything was delicious. I really felt so special and important and a big part of that was due to the staff at Union station. I cannot rave enough about this venue!!!

Rehearsal Dinner -Amazing food & service

Wow. They set the bar high. We got married in Amherst a couple days ago. We decided to have our wedding at the Inn on Boltwood so we could have accommodations the night of/on site. However, we wanted to venture out for the rehearsal dinner. We looked around extensively in the Amherst/Northampton area and eventually decided on the Union Station for our rehearsal dinner. This was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. First, Neil, the Event Director, was SO responsive even though we were only hosting our rehearsal dinner with them. We ended up selecting the premium plated dinner for approximately 30 guests. The Union Station does not currently have fee to rent their space for the dinners, which made it far more affordable than the competition. The price was right, and the food quality was phenomenal. The Union Station food lived up to all the reviews. We also did not want to do a full open bar, but Neil gave us other options that allowed us to host some of the bar tab (we had 2 bottles of wine per table). For appetizers, we had the cheese/veggie/fruit platter (guests raved about the quality of the fruit). We had passed apps of bacon wrapped dates with manchego cheese, cauliflower risotto balls, and steak on a crostini. Each app, recommended by Neil, were AMAZING. We chose to have the salmon and beef tenderloin for the main courses, as well as the pesto ravioli as our vegetarian option. I had the salmon and it was PERFECT. As a side, we chose the caramelized potato gratin and broccolini. The beef tenderloin was so perfect and cooked just right. Everyone LOVED their meals, especially us. We finished with the seasonal cheesecake (strawberry topped). Throughout our wedding and honeymoon, we kept talking about how much we loved the food at Union Station. Lastly, the room was decorated so perfectly and the staff were SUPER accommodating and took such good care of our guests. I would go out of my way to host an event here again just to eat the food.

    Best thing we did

We cannot say enough good things about Neil and the team at Union Station Banquets. The main takeaway is this: Union Station allowed us to have the full vision of our wedding become a reality, and in a financially practical way. From the first meeting, Neil was completely welcoming and unassuming. Any time we met in person, Neil was as excited to plan the details of our wedding as we were. If we emailed, he was always responsive within a day and answered our questions directly.

Compared to other places where that was “an additional offering” or “couldn’t be done in this package,” we never felt like we had to keep our wants close to the vest out of fear that we would get pushed into spending more money. If it was doable at a cost we could afford, it was done, and if it wasn’t, there was no problem moving on without it. Neil truly wanted us to have a wedding that was everything we wanted and nothing we didn’t. He offered his suggestions and ideas, but never put pressure on us to include something and we never felt like we had to “bite the bullet” on any decision. At one point during our tasting, we had asked for a late night snack menu and Neil said “the staff is really excited to work with your menu” and it genuinely felt that they were as much a part of our planning as we were.

The banquet hall itself is a beautiful, cool, early 20th century aesthetic that is attractive on its own, but also presents plenty of opportunities to be personalized. There is an obvious travel aesthetic with the space, but with the open brick and brass bar, the turn-of-the-century advertising around that space, old, recessed ticket windows turned to mirrors, and a huge fireplace, the space welcomes any variety of themes you might have in mind. Even for us, we included elements related to trains and to breweries, and the space allowed for those two ideas to marry together well.

We would be remiss if we didn’t also thank our Lead Bartender, Rob. He was amazing, both attentive and intuitive. We were never going to be the couple who “forgot to eat” at their own wedding, but without ever saying that, Rob was always available to us first with hors d'oeuvres. Three things we loved about Rob -- aside from just what a wonderful and enthusiastic person he seemed to be -- included, when we were first taking photos around the venue, he found us outside before our time together had even started and he brought us water while we were outside on a 98 degree day. Similarly, he was always around us with appetizers and drinks at the ready, but he also never made our guests feel out of place. Of course he brought us appetizers first and looked to us first, but we’ve been at weddings where that tray was withheld from guests because it was “for the bride and groom.” He never shut anyone down if they grabbed for that tray, which is exactly what we would have asked of him. Finally, on the only stressful moment of our day, he recognized that we were maybe feeling overwhelmed by the attention of our guests and, without interrupting, took it upon himself to find us and bring fresh drinks. He was the person we engaged with the most directly, but so many of our guests applauded the service of the staff at the bar and on the floor. They were all amazing

Beyond all of this, planning extra flourishes was so easy, due in part to the proximity of Union Station to other cool spaces in the same building and in downtown Northampton, but also because of the relationships Neil has built with other vendors in the Northampton community. Obviously it took meticulous planning, but by the time we got to Northampton to the time we left, everything we had planned went without issue the entire weekend.

The team at Union Station was completely unexpected. In an overwhelming industry dominated by fixed, generic, overpriced, wedding packages that make you feel hamstrung, Union Station Banquets was everything you wish you could have for your wedding and we can’t thank them enough or recommend them highly enough.

    An amazing experience all around!!

First and foremost, we could not be happier to be writing this review, as we had the most amazing experience all around at Union Station. Starting with the venue, it is absolutely perfect. It was the first venue we toured almost two years ago, and we knew the moment we walked in that it would be our wedding venue. The venue is stunning, classy, and we received numerous compliments throughout the night from our guests as to how much they LOVED Union Station, and how perfect it was. Robert, our personal waiter for the night, was there from the beginning to the end, and was absolutely incredible. He was helpful, very attentive, and made us both feel so comfortable throughout the day. Thank you, Robert. Now, we have to get to the #1 reason why Union Station is a 5-star venue, and that is the event coordinator, Neil Gadbois. One of the main reasons we chose Union Station outside of how beautiful it was, is because of Neil. We knew right from the start that he was an absolute professional, who really cares about the couples he works with. Neil was amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process, and was always available to answer any questions we had. Neil is one of the kindest individuals we have met and was professional and efficient throughout. Fast-forward to our actual wedding day -- IT WAS PERFECT. We succumbed to the fact that "something" would go wrong, but it did not. The entire staff at Union Station were on top of everything and we received a plethora of compliments as to how our wedding day was the smoothest, most perfect wedding anyone has ever seen, which is a testament to the greatness of Neil and his staff. In closing, if you are looking to have an amazing, seamless wedding experience that you will never forget - look no further than Union Station. We are so grateful for our experience at Union Station and could not recommend it enough!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN TO NEIL AND THE STAFF!!!

    Worth every penny

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have our wedding at Union Station. The venue itself is beautiful and so unique. The events coordinator, Neil, was on top of everything from beginning to end and the whole day ran seamlessly. Our lead server, Rob, couldn’t have been any better. He was always right there when we needed him, and when we didn’t, he was out of sight. Being attentive without being overbearing can be a fine line, but Rob walked it like a tightrope. Every staff member was simply phenomenal. We can’t say enough good things about Union Station, and about everyone who makes it what it is.

    Wonderful post wedding brunch

We did a Sunday brunch buffet here the morning after our wedding and it was fabulous. The venue is so unique, with stunning masonry and interesting history. Beyond the setting, all the food was so delicious, and very reasonably priced for the quality.

Neil was a delight to work with, he really listed to our questions and our vision and had great suggestions to help us bring it to life. The servers did a fantastic job of keeping the buffet food fresh and hot and clearing plates without being in the way.

Neil also coordinated renting the tunnel bar (below union station) for an afterparty, which was a huge hit with our guests (best martinis we've had!) Such a fun and special experience all around, thank you Union Station!

Guests cannot stop raving about the venue

From our initial emails to tour Union Station through to our wedding everything was top nothing and well planned. Neil is very responsive to all questions and concerns and really made sure our vision came together. On the day of our wedding, our head waiter Robert really went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. We didn’t meet Robert prior to wedding day but he was very tuned into who he needed to check in on prior to and during the wedding. He gathered drinks for myself and the bridesmaids prior to the wedding while we waited upstairs and made sure boutonnières made it to the correct people. My husband said Robert got him some fries pre ceremony since he didn’t get a change to eat that morning. Robert even went and got us our favorite drinks from the tunnel bar to have with our wedding cake. We had quite a few bumps along the way with weather and other vendors but anything that Union Station and Neil were in charge of or helped oversee went off without a hitch. All of our guests were very impressed.

    A Night to Remember

From the moment we walked into the Roosevelt Room at Union Station we knew it would be the perfect selection. Neil was amazing from start to finish, helped us with as much planning as we possibly could (especially when we had to postpone our original date due to COVID) and was always an email away when needed for any information or just words of encouragement. The day of the event everyone was professional and courteous of ours and our guests requests and comfort levels during COVID. And it goes without saying that the food was beyond incredibly. We will highly recommend Union Station to anyone looking to have events in the future ( not just a wedding). Thank you to Neil and his staff for making our wedding reception a night we will never forget!

Go with Union Station, you won't regret it!

My husband and I truly cannot thank Neil Gadbois and his entire team for all their work to make our wedding this July so incredible! We were a couple who had to postpone our wedding from 2020 due to covid, and throughout the process Neil did everything he could to help us find a new date, kept us up-to-date on current guidelines, and once we had a new date, guided us through planning the perfect wedding reception. On the day of the event, everything went so perfectly! He and his staff are true professionals who made our wedding day everything we’d hoped for and more! Our guests have raved about the food, the service, and the beautiful space! We cannot recommend The Roosevelt Room at Union Station highly enough.

    Couldn't have asked for more!

Neil and his staff was very accommodating. They were helpful, providing suggestions when needed. Furthermore, the our venue package included table centerpieces of our choice, cake with 2 well known bakeries as options, alleviating those two additional worries. It was the complete package for us. The food was outstanding!

    Simply amazing!

Union Station is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about this venue. Neil made the whole planning process so easy, especially with planning from a distance. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful. From finding old photographs of Union Station for us, to fairy lights, to a French fry bar, to life-size Jenga, to specific table runners. Neil helped bring our vision to life. Also, the employees at Union Station are REMARKABLE (Jon, Chris, Elliot, Chloe, Hazel, Jenn, and Laurel)! They took such good care of us!!! We are so thankful for them. All of our guests had a fantastic time! We appreciate everyone at Union Station so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding day perfect. - Jaimie & Ryan

    Perfect all-inclusive wedding venue

Neil and his team at Union Station made sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day, with minimal input from us so we could fully enjoy our guests and party! Our wedding needed to be postponed twice due to COVID and Neil was responsive and flexible, allowing us to rebook and honoring our original contract. Our guests all raved about the quality of food and the service as well - they covered all the big things like cooking the food perfectly and also all the little things like bringing out kids meals first. Great value for the money we paid with many of our guests saying it was one of the most fun weddings they've attended! The venue was so beautiful that we didn't need to bring any additional decorations. Their package structure makes it easy to plan a wedding and they handle all of the deliveries (flowers, cake), setup of the rooms, and staffing the bar with great bartenders and servers who watched out for us all day, making sure we had drinks and food. We also hosted brunch for our guests the next day, and again the food and service were excellent, including the build-your-own mimosa bar.

    Would've if I could've

We looked high and low for a wedding venue that was a reasonably-priced, good bang-for-your-buck sort of deal. We found that with Union Station! We loved each of our visits (great venue, great food, great people), and were thiiis close to choosing them. Only reason we didn't is because we decided to have our wedding closer to my parents' house. But every once in a while I still find myself wishing we had gone with Union Station! High reccomend!

    Just what we wanted

We’re so glad we decided to go with Union Station for our wedding venue! The event coordinator we worked with, Neil, was absolutely amazing at helping us customize the details for our event. We wanted something small/intimate anyway, and everything was so perfect you would’ve never thought we had such a great time while working around COVID restrictions. The staff/service/food was excellent, historic scenery was a great feature, and the price was very reasonable! Bonus points for the private parking lot too. ;) Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants something low-key & intimate (no matter what your guest count is), all while being just as beautiful, memorable, and perfect as any other luxurious wedding venue would be.

    Absolutely Incredible

I am truly at a loss for words as to how amazing this venue and Neil was. We were supposed to get married this past Friday June 19, 2020 at Union Station, but due to the Covid pandemic made the very difficult and bittersweet decision to simply do a small ceremony and reception on our original date in my aunt's backyard. Neil was nothing short of amazing. He was always very responsive to all our questions (which were quite a lot given the circumstances). He was incredibly accommodating, and even allowed us to do a second tasting when we couldn't quite decide which food choices we had wanted for our wedding day. We were so touched by how understanding he was throughout the pandemic. My now husband and I went there this past Saturday to officially "close that chapter" of our lives, and he was working that night and specifically came to our table and checked in with us multiple times, and congratulated us on our wedding that had happened the night prior. This is such a special and unique venue, and we are saddened that it couldn't be part of our wedding story but we would highly recommend this incredible venue and team to other interested brides!

Excellent venue with an AMAZING team!

Neil over at Union Station was FANTASTIC! My husband and I were set to get married in The Roosevelt Room in September 2020, but then COVID hit. Despite the circumstances that we all faced, Neil and Union Station were beyond committed to helping us plan an incredible day. Their flexibility, professionalism and commitment were unmatched and difficult to articulate in a simple review. The team was willing to wait with us as restrictions changed daily and adapt as September arrived. Our original 150+ person festivity was not feasible but Neil and his team were able to shift us to an incredibly scenic farm a short distance from Union Station, where we had a lovely 20 person wedding reception. The owner of Union Station owns Micka Farm and while this is not generally used as a wedding venue, they were willing to accommodate us and our guests under a tent while we enjoyed the delicious food The Roosevelt Room had to offer.

We couldn't have been any more fortunate to work with Neil and Union Station as they were able to (seemingly at the last minute) transition everything to an outdoor venue. They did this without having any additional stress or issues and made the whole process seamless and carefree for us. While we were initially ecstatic at the prospect of holding our Wedding Reception at Union station we could not have been more pleased to work with Neil and the team who did everything to provide us with a special day, even in these dire circumstances.

My husband and I were so impressed and thrilled with our experience with Neil & Union Station that we are going to have our post-covid bash there as well in the future! Again we couldn't speak more highly or feel any more strongly about the experience we had with this team.
