I never really wear makeup other than occasional mascara and eyeliner. For reference, I have vitiligo and have been told in the past it would take layers and layers of makeup and hours to work with my skin. However, working with Tymia Yvette was a completely different experience. She worked with my vitiligo, put me at ease and made me look absolutely stunning for a family wedding that I attended. Her calmness and kindness helped me a lot and I felt very happy that she did my make-up. Thanks so much for the advice she gave me and for taking the time to make sure that everything would be perfect. She did an amazing job with my makeup and it stayed on all day and night. I felt really beautiful, confident and I had nothing but compliments on the perfection and detail she achieved with my look!

Tymia "Mia" is fantastic and I booked appointments at her studio which was very comfortable and well set-up.
I have seen her for make up and other services, and highly recommend her. The purpose of my appointments were to improve my appearance. I hadn't expected it, but was struck by how patiently she taught me correct make up application technique, the features of different make-up brushes, and showed me specific items I could consider buying on my own. Mia's strengths are her 1) skill and 2) ability to teach. As an educator myself, I believe only a truly generous and confident professional will share their knowledge and Mia exemplifies this to a "tee". I never felt pressure to purchase anything but chose to not leave without booking my next appointment. Who knew? Learning can be fun and pretty at the same time. -

Mia is the best of the best! She was incredible to work with and made sure that I felt confident and beautiful on my wedding day. I was struggling with some skin issues leading up to the wedding, and Mia didn't give up and worked with me until we found the perfect products to use. She was so patient, kind, and just fun to be around throughout the whole process. On the wedding day, everyone was so happy with how their makeup turned out and it lasted all day (through rain and tears) and photographed beautifully! She is so talented and will make sure that you feel like the best version of yourself- I would hire her again in a heartbeat! -

Tymia!!!!!!!! The best make up artist we had the pleasure to work with. Our make up was flawless. She did so many looks on our girls and paid attention to what we wanted and what each girl needed and felt comfortable with. She was on time and got us through flawlessly so we missed nothing. We sobbed and sweated all night long and not a single part of our make up was messed up. Genuinely we were shocked by how well it lasted the entire night and we got compliments from everyone. The eye make up alone is so worth it. We could not have asked for a better MUA and we want to work with her again because she was that incredible. One woman show and she kills it! -

Tymia is absolutely incredible and I would work with her again in a heartbeat. I was lucky I was able to book her for my DC wedding and I am so happy I did. She did my makeup, 8 bridesmaids, my mother, and my grandmother and every single one of us loved our makeup. She was spot on for all of us and everyone looked gorgeous. Before the wedding date, we did a trial to determine exactly what I wanted and she walked me through different looks and options. Throughout the entire process she was professional, organized, and kind, and she just made the whole process so fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a makeup artist! -

After speaking with Tymia over the phone for a consult, I knew I would be hiring her to do my make-up for my wedding. She asked a lot of specific questions to get an idea of my vision. I don't wear a lot of make-up often, so wanted something very natural. We weren't able to do a trial prior to the wedding, but I just trusted her...and I am so glad I did! I have never felt so beautiful. My sister, mother, and mother-in-law looked absolutely amazing too. HIGHLY recommend Tymia- you won't regret it!! -

I have been one of Tymia’s clients for quite a few years. She is a super talented makeup artist. She is well trained in other beauty services as well. She is the only person I trust with my lash extensions and brow services. Recently, I had the brow lamination service. Tymia was professional and answered all my questions before, during and after my appointment. Her studio is very clean and well sanitized. She also provided insightful before and after care tips. She is extremely knowledgeable of the service and makes sure you are aware of every product that is being used and it’s effects. I felt totally comfortable the whole time and I love the results. I have slightly unruly brows in general, but staying home during the pandemic had my brows going crazy. So happy to have beautifully groomed and tamed brows again! Definitely recommend you book Tymia immediately! -

Brow Lamination w/ Tint and Lash Lift w/ Tint
Tymia did an AWESOME job on my eyebrows and lashes! I looooovvveee it!! I received Brow styling, Lash styling by getting Brow lamination with tint and Lash lift with tint. The brow grooming was done with tweezing and waxing. I was a tad nervous due to Covid but studio was clean and she sanitized in between.
Also, she took her time while grooming brows, she didn’t rush, I had a mirror in my hand the entire time while she groomed my brows because she wanted to make sure I loved them and that they weren’t over tweezed. The experience was so relaxing and I definitely feel like my beauty has been enhanced.

From a year ago on my wedding day to now, I am still so impressed with Tymia. She is truly multitalented!!!! Due to Covid, I was nervous to leave the house, but after the stay at home orders were lifted I decided to take the chance! Tymia's studio was super clean. She wanted to make sure her clients put their health & safety first so when I arrived early, she asked me to wait in the car for her to sanitize her studio from her previous client. I went in to get a lash lift with tint and a brow lamination with tint. It was 2 sessions so that my skin wasn't over processed. The first go round was the brow lamination and the lash lift. Tymia didn't just sit me down and tell me how I should look, she and I worked together to create the brow & lash styling that I envisioned for myself! I went home feeling like a new woman (mind you I haven't even had the tinting yet). I couldn't help stare at the difference in my lashes and brows every time I passed a mirror in my house. The 2nd session was the brow and lash tinting. I have pretty dark hair so I was skeptical I even needed a tinting, but after my session with Tymia my lashes and brows had a new glow to them! Thank you so much Tymia for taking me from quarantine drab to quarantine fab!!!! -

MakeUp Artist of My Dreams
Tymia deserves more starts than I can give her. Let me just start by saying that I have admired and adored Tymia’s work for many years, so naturally she was the ONLY artist I wanted to touch my face for the day I wanted to feel my most beautiful, MY WEDDING. I knew exactly what Mia is capable of, as I have soght her services for other events in the past BUT I was still not prepared for the magic she performed on my face on my wedding day. The make-up was so beautiful I literally almost cried when she revealed it, although I held it in because I refused to mess up my face LOL. She gave me everything I wanted and more. There is a scheduled trial before your weddind day so that you and Tymia can connect and figure out exactly what your ideas are for how you would like to look for your big day. She gave me exactly what I wanted but made it so much more than what I could have ever dreamed. Not only was the make up beautiful in the mirror but it was perfect on camera and video, Which Tymia makes sure of!! Not only was my make up beyond my wildest dreams but my mother’s and my bridesmaid make up was completely stunning. I had guest at my wedding asking me who was my make up artists because the makeup was executed so well and professional. Speaking of being professional, Tymia does not miss a beat with her professionalism. I had a very strict time frame with my wedding venue. She arrived on time, which was very early in my case and she finished right on time so that I would not be late for my big day. Her set up is also to die for. She has all the best products to make sure she is able to give you the make up of your dreams!!!! And I am not exaggerating when I say that. Finally, if you have not met Tymia or talked to her as soon as you do you will instantly fall in love. She brought such a positive and upbeat energy to wedding day. She definitely helped to ease my nerves with her very down to earth presence. I adore both her work and her and she is the ONLY artist I will use for any future events. She seriously the bomb!!! If you want not only an amazing artist but a fabulous person,then you have found the girl for your event! -

Tymia has been doing my lashes for a few months now and I've NEVER felt more confident. She is always willing to adjust if I ever want to change my lash style and is an expert at making that transition go smoothly. She is also EXTREMELY knowledgeable on what styles look best depending on eye and face shape, which is very reassuring. When you work with Tymia you are in the hands of a professional. -

An honest review of Tymia Yvette's Makeup Artistry has been long overdue. I've been a long time lash extension client. Tymia's friendly personality and consistent, high-quality service is what has kept me a regular customer.
Especially with what is going on right now through this pandemic, Tymia's customer service has exceeded my expectations. She's understanding and will work with you to meet your needs. I was a little apprehensive about coming in for my most recent lash fill appointment and she reassured me of her strict cleaning routine. She even took the time to explain her disinfectant/sterilization process! When I went in for my appointment, I felt like Tymia went above and beyond my expectations. I felt safe and comfortable during my appointment. I always feel like she's providing me with 5-star one on one service. I am truly grateful for her and really appreciate everything she's doing so that her clients are safe and healthy! -

Tymia was simply the BEST! As someone who doesn't know much about makeup, she really got to know me and asked all the right questions to truly understand what I wanted during our trial. When it was time for my wedding day, she nailed it! Not only was she incredibly professional, but she listened to each of my bridesmaids to ensure they were feeling (and looking!) their best. She even stayed for extra time when the rest of the bridal squad decided that they wanted fake eyelashes. My makeup wore fabulously throughout the evening and I was still looking fresh after dancing the night away. I could not recommend Tymia enough!! -

I had a wonderful experience working with Tymia Yvette. She took the time to work with me from trial to wedding day to create the best look that made me look like the most beautiful and elegant version of myself! My foundation was flawless, my eyes were gorgeous ( I wanted to look like princess Jasmine from Aladdin!) I received so many compliments on my makeup and a few of my guests work in the fashion and beauty industries so they could immediately appreciate the skill and precision necessary in my makeup look.
I was so grateful to have found Mia as a local makeup artist in my hometown with stellar reviews featured in WeddingWire and Martha Stewart weddings. I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to her studio, ( a significant savings) to receive an impeccable makeup session and have plenty of time to meet my photographer and finish getting ready for my big day I was so happy with Mia that I plan to schedule a private makeup lesson with her! I, like many women, am a skincare and beauty junky with a bevy of fabulous premium makeup products I have absolutely no idea how to use!

Joann Sent on 04/23/2018Mia is the absolute best! I chose her for my wedding and bridal party makeup because I have used her previously for other services and she does amazing, quality work. Everyone’s makeup turned out flawless and she was very flexible with me while still staying within guidelines and making things runs perfectly smooth. My bridal party ranged from my mom who is 67 years old to myself at 30 years old with complexions that ranged from African American to Asian to very very fair white and everyone loved the way theirs turned out. Her pricing is fair and very competitive to other MUAs. she sends you a pamphlet to see her services up front and a final breakdown so there are no surprises. She also does a trial run on the bride so that you can provide the look you want and see her service in advance

Tiffany Sent on 02/22/2017Mia was great! She was very responsive and gave very detailed instructions before, during, and after the appointment. She even gives a list of products to use and where to get them.
Now for the lashes. I am a blonde and my lashes are very light. Mia explained all the different types of lashes available. I decided on a natural curl and volume with a cat eye. The application took about 2 1/2 hours. I fell asleep during most of the appointment. It was so relaxing. She has a heated table to keep you comfortable and relaxed. After she was finished I couldn't believe how AMAZING my lashes looked. My lashes look amazing. I'm so thrilled. I'm also hooked. I cannot imagine life without them. I like not having to wear mascara. I love not needing to curl my lashes. Heck I don't even have to wear eye makeup.
I highly recommend Tymia. She is a true artist and a consummate professional. You can trust Tymia on you special day. She will make you beautiful! -

She did makeup for me, our two mothers, my flower girl, and 7 bridesmaids all within 6ish hours. Seriously, she is amazing. Everyone looked fabulous and most importantly they felt beautiful! She did a huge range of makeup, from super natural to over the top glam and each one was perfect. She also worked with a variety of skin tones and knew just what to do to make each girl look perfect. When she finished my makeup I actually started to cry because it looked so good. I was so content with the results that I asked if she would do both my wedding rehearsal and wedding day makeup because she is the person you want to use for life's biggest milestones! I was on cloud nine so much to the point I did not want to take off my makeup afterwards. My husband, family and friends also raved about my makeup and Mia!
Tymia is truly the best in her industry and is a great communicator in the process; her services are unparalleled and I highly recommend her services for all your makeup needs! I will continue to use Mia's services and treat myself to fun makeup days with her! -
