My husband and I have been vacationing in Sanibel and Captiva for seven of the ten years we’ve been together, so we always knew we wanted to get married there. After three hurricanes completely disrupted our plans, we put everything on hold. I had my heart set on a different venue and waited three years hoping it would reopen—but eventually, I started to lose faith and decided to tour ‘Tween Waters. Looking back, it was the best decision I could have ever made.

This venue is truly PERFECT. Having all of our guests stay at the same resort made the entire experience so special—it was so much fun running into everyone throughout the weekend and really soaking in that time together. The setting itself could not have been more beautiful and created the most incredible backdrop for our wedding.

The staff at ‘Tween Waters are absolutely top-notch. Every single person was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely a joy to work with. No matter the question or request, they made sure everything was taken care of seamlessly. The food at Old Captiva House is also outstanding—our guests are still talking about it!

And I have to give a special shoutout to Samantha—she is an absolute DREAM to work with. I truly could not have brought my vision to life without her. She made the entire planning process smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free.

We got married at 'Tween Waters Resort & Spa on May 26, 2022 with a beach ceremony and reception at the Canoe & Kayak Club for 17 guests. It was - as cliché as it may be - absolutely perfect. I would not have changed one thing.

Working with Cindy Kaiser was the best experience and the planning process was extremely smooth, even planning from out of town. She is enthusiastic with a bright, energetic vibe that takes the stress out of the process, plus she was more than willing to do anything she could to lend a hand. Amazing coordination the day-of so that we did not have to worry about who should be where and at what time - literally everything was taken care of. The service during the reception was excellent and the food was OUTSTANDING. Never do you expected to be wow'ed by wedding food but every one of our guests commented on how spectacular it was.

We could not have asked for a better day, a better venue or an easier, streamlined process. It truly was the best experience and I cannot overstate how terrific Cindy and everyone at 'Tween Waters was to work with. Highly recommend!

An amazing resort to get away and have guest come to stay. We had an amazing wedding. They have 3 different venues all are amazing. The staff at the resort is amazing they treated all our guest and us wonderfully. From the old captive house, pool staff and spa personal each and everyone went above and beyond to make our event and stay special. Thank you to the wedding coordinators too. They were very quick with responses and willing to work with your needs. Me and my husband had the most amazing time. I would have no changed one thing about our special day! Thank you so much!!!!

My daughter got married at Tween Waters and it was fantastic! Christine, the wedding planner, was so friendly and pleasant to work with; from the day we met and toured Tween Waters with Christine it seemed as if we had known her forever and she knew exactly what we wanted. She has extensive knowledge of the resort and the different ceremony and venue choices and took the time to show all of them to us and to answer my many questions.
We had to scale back the wedding from 80 guests to 8 due to Covid and travel restrictions; Christine was so helpful with everything; she made it so easy! She and all of the staff at Tween Waters were wonderful to work with, from her assistant to the ceremony site attendant, golf cart and maintenance people, pool and bar staff, front desk, and dining room staff. The reheasal dinner and reception were fantastic because of how wonderful the food, drinks and staff are at Tween Waters. Christine, her assistant, the servers, buspeople, bartenders, managers, chef and especially the hostesses at The Old Captiva House Restaurant at Tween Waters were so helpful and made sure that the reception was perfect. We were thrilled with the resort and our whole stay at Tween Waters.

Our daughter's wedding was such a wonderful experience. During these unconventional times we had to change everything to accommodate our guests, the staff was excellent and it turn out Great! Thanks so much!

‘Tween Waters was the ideal location for our wedding reception in December. The hotel wedding events manager, Christine, provided exceptional service from our first on site tour through the end of our reception evening. Christine and Kassidy were flexible and supportive despite numerous changes we made due to the impact of the pandemic on our guest list and final plans. We highly recommend ‘Tween Waters for a wedding reception.

We fell in love with ‘Tween Waters the first time we went there and our expectations were exceeded. I can’t imagine picking a more perfect place to get married. Christine is a big reason why we fell in love with the venue. She’s very friendly and passionate and we knew she would be fantastic to work with; we were right! She was very responsive to any questions we had and was present on the day of the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly. They were also flexible when we had to change our plans because of COVID. Our whole wedding weekend was amazing and we never even had to leave the resort, it was great!

We were so happy to have had our wedding at tween waters. It was so beautiful, the food was amazing, the people were great L and we enjoyed their resort. It was the perfect place to host our small, intimate wedding.

We had a destination wedding at Tween Waters. Christine H helped us plan an amazing vacation and wedding for our 60 guests. The resort is gorgeous. Our wedding group utilized all the amenities- spa, pools, beach, restaurants, waverunners, kayaks and more. We even charted a private boat tour leaving from their marina. Our wedding was unforgettable and more than we ever hoped for. The staff at tween really care and it shows. We will go back every year for our anniversary.

Tween waters is absolutely beautiful and Christine is wonderful! Christine was so helpful when planning and responded quickly to all emails. Our wedding was perfect- even with complications from a tropical storm.. Christine was on top of everything and helped so much throughout the day! All of their staff was great and we had so much fun! The beach is private and quiet, so there weren’t any uninvited guests getting in the way. Our guests had tons of fun hanging out by the pool/bar all weekend and everyone loved the food!

We had our wedding on the 'Tween Waters beach and the reception on the Lady Chadwick which left from the 'Tween Waters Marina. Christine did an fantastic job organizing the setup for the wedding, the tables, chairs, etc. for the boat, and all the catering. All our guests raved about the food and the catering staff on the boat was very organized and accommodating. I highly recommend getting married at 'Tween Waters Resort & Spa if you are considering getting married in the area. Everything turned out exactly as we wanted.

I loved working with Christine the Sales Manager in planning our wedding. Her professionalism, attention to detail, friendly spirit was what made me fall in love with the venue. We had the perfect beach wedding! The food and banquet were amazing and everyone raved about the food!

Christine and Tween Waters were the perfect venue for our intimate, smaller wedding. Every question was answered and we worked with the resort months ahead of time. They calmed us as a hurricane barreled toward Florida just a day ahead of our date. The day was flawless and who doesn't want to ride up to the beach on a golf cart before walking down the aisle?

By the time we left, every staff member knew our name and our story. It felt like an extended family.

We loved our experience with tween waters. Everything turned out perfect! We Even changed our venue at the last minute and they accommodated our request!

We had a wonderful experience at Tween for our wedding and reception. This was a destination wedding for us and we had never stayed there before, but everything was very smooth and perfect on the day of. We planned most of the details via email and a few phone calls, plus we flew down once for a food tasing. A couple of months before the wedding we were told our point of contact no longer worked there, but Christine was able to quickly learn our vision for our day and was just as easy to work with! We had the ceremony on the North Beach, which was a perfect backdrop especially around sunset, and our reception was in the Canoe and Kayak. We were able to bring our own decorations and really make it our own unique event. The food is very very good as well. Overall my family and friends really enjoyed their stay at the resort, had fun going to the beach, swimming in the pools and using the kayaks. I can’t wait to go back to the resort! A note for out of state weddings- June IS super hot on the beach, we held our ceremony at 6:30 and by then it was much cooler out, but any earlier in the day and you will probably burn your feet on the sand!

Beautiful, beautiful venue! Everyone can stay on property and within walking distance to each other's rooms. We used the Canoe and Kayak club having the ceremony on the outside deck, and the dinner inside. Most of our guests ordered filets and medium rare, and they were cooked perfectly! The staff was accommodating and made the process stress free!

Tween Waters is certainly a charming wedding venue. The private well-kept beach was the perfect back drop for our morning ceremony and the Canoe and Kayak Club was the ideal spot for our brunch reception. The food and service were spot on and the entire property was lovely. But Kelly is what really made our experience so wonderful. She was timely, accommodating and professional at every encounter. She had some challenges during the planning of our wedding in that she was put in a position to have to clean up messes and keep promises that were made by her predecessor, but she somehow managed to help take the stress out of a stressful time. She paid close attention to ensure that every detail of our day was just as requested. She treated me, my groom, my family and guests with a kindness and courteousness that went above and beyond what was required. Thank you Kelly for helping to make our day so special!
I also have to send a shout out to Tonya. Our rehearsal dinner was a causal affair in the Crow's Nest. Everyone in the group was moving around, changing seats, ordering at random times and Tonya never missed a beat. She was wonderful!!!

Used tween for rehearsal dinner...rooming and the vow renewal ceremony. Everyone and everything was way above and beyond what we expected! The food was out of this world. I want to go back NOW!

My wedding was booked at another venue and I had pre-booked my hair/make-up at Kay Casperson spa. Thank goodness I did a hair/makeup test run the day before my wedding, as it was a disaster! Luckily, I had someone mention the spa at Tween Waters...and Sharlie and her crew of fabulous ladies came to the rescue. They were fully booked on the day of my wedding but they accommodated both me and my step-daughter for hair and make-up, which were absolutely beautiful. Words cannot express my gratitude for the flexibility, professionalism, and quality from the ladies at the spa. I would absolutely stress that if you are in the market for hair and makeup and you are anywhere on the island, you book with Tween Waters!

Words cannot express how wonderful of a time my family and friends had at Tween Waters! We still talk about it! The entire week was pure joy and fun in the sun but the wedding day was honestly a dream come true and couldn't have been more perfect, thanks to Jana and Kelly. They were so easy to work with and are quite possibly the nicest gals ever! Also, we have adopted them into our crazy group ;) The wedding ceremony on the beach was gorgeous, the cocktail hour following was just beautiful, and the reception at the Canoe and Kayak Club was an absolute blast! The food was AMAZING!!!

The Spa was very accommodating, as of course we waited last minute for some of the girls (including myself) to have our hair and nails done. Thank you sooo much!

I got married on the beach at Tween the Waters and it was more than I could have asked for. The beach provided a serene ceremony that was meaningful and romantic. From there we walked right across the street to The Old Captiva House for our beautiful reception full of dancing and wonderful food! The wedding coordinators Jana and Kelly were very helpful throughout the whole process and made themselves available my whole wedding weekend to answer questions and organize everything

Our wedding was absolutely perfect! Jana & Kelly were so amazing in helping us with all the planning. They did such a good job making sure everything went smoothly from beginning to end. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Would highly recommend this venue!

The Tweens was a great place for my ceremony. The beach was clean and well kept. The staff was very attentive. We had really enjoyed out time at the Tweens.

The location for the ceremony was gorgeous! All of our pictures came out great. The reception area was very nice, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful.

A great with wonderful, friendly, and attentive staff. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel special and ensure you have a great time. Dan took care of our reception setup and service and is such a nice person and very attentive. Christine was a great help answering all my questions and ensuring that our ceremony was perfect. The day could not have been more perfect, beautiful ceremony on the beach and a great reception. The rooms are beautiful and our bay view was unbelievable. The spa was ladies were amazing and I had so much fun getting my nails done and a wonderful couples massage with my new husband. Everyone was very helpful with my sick father and went out of their way to ensure he had fun as well. Also cannot say enough about the food. Delicious!!!!!! Never disappointed in anything we ordered. Great price for the event, we had it on a weekday which was cheaper and helped us out a lot and the resort was much quieter and less crowded.

My husband and I just got married at Tween Waters Inn and we must say that it was the best week/weekend of our entire lives. Our guests and families are still raving about the amazing time that we all had during our stay and we wish more than anything that we could do it all over again and again. We had a few different wedding coordinators from the time we first booked Tween Waters leading up until the wedding itself, but by far, the current coordinator, Christine Harrower, was unbelievably kind and helpful. She helped us plan everything from the big picture to the tiny details all along the way and was quick to make changes, and accommodate all of our unique requests. We scheduled multiple events throughout the weekend for our guests and all of them went off without a hitch. Our guests continue to compliment the staff at Tween Waters on how nice and welcoming they were to all of us. I cannot imagine having a better location for our wedding and would recommend this resort hands down to anyone who is thinking about getting married there. We plan to spend some anniversaries back at tween waters and all of our guests are getting ready to plan their next trip back as well. Lastly, the food was absolutely amazing -- the chef was quick to adjust menu items, and went along with every one of our requests/suggestions. We want to sincerely thank the entire staff at Tween Waters, and most importantly Christine Harrower, for making this the most memorable and amazing trip of our lives. Amazing and beautiful property! The entire wedding weekend took place at Tween Waters and it could not have been a more incredible place to get married! Fantastic staff, beautiful accommodations and impressive transformation of the Old Captiva House dining room into our magical and beautiful wedding reception location. The food was outstanding, Chef Jason is so creative and accommodating! The service was superb! Thanks to all at TWI!!

Tween waters was PERFECT!! My rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception were held at the resort and everything was amazing!! The staff was so friendly and made all our family and friends feel welcomed from the moment we arrived on property! The wedding coordinator was a dream to work with and I am so grateful she was there! The banquet manager made sure the reception went off without a hitch! It was a complete dream! He made us feel so special! The staff at the Oasis pool bar were also wonderful! The food all weeked was delicious! We had compliments on how delicious our rehearsal dinner was for days after the rehearsal! We did a hog roast by the pool and they closed the pool for a couple hours for our special event. We have never had better pork in our lives!! The guests also raved about how good our wedding food was!! I could never say enough about Tween Waters!! We are planning on spending our first anniversary at the resort! Tween Waters made my wedding a dream come true!

I can not say enough good things about how Tween Waters Inn handled my destination wedding. Sherry, the event coordinator was very kind and helpful throughout the entire process. The planning was very organized and easy, I had absolutely no worries on the day of my wedding. All of the staff during the wedding were awesome. On the day of the wedding it started out with rain and thunderstorms and I got really upset. Dan, one of the coordinators, went out of his way to reassure me that everything would be ok. The day cleared up and our ceremony and reception was picture perfect. Tween Waters Inn also did the catering and my cake. The food was absolutely delicious! The cake was also beautiful and super yummy! I can not think of one complaint about this resort and how they handled my wedding. There is no better place to get married in the Sanibel/Captiva area!!

Christine Rosa from the Spa did an amazing job on my hair! I told her exactly what my dress looked like, what type of jewelry I was wearing, and requested she help me decide how best my hair would look. She did an incredible job. It was absolutely beautiful!
I highly recommend her talent, skill, and appreciate her kindness and loking into my best interest.

We had our wedding at Tween Waters on 11-11-11! They did an incredible job. Everyone was so helpful, especially with the planning from afar. Sherry was such a great help and definitely gets the job done with any request!!! Dan was also a great help with coordination and reception! The wedding was beautiful and could not have been more perfect. The resort also did a wonderful job serving all our guests. We had a blast at the Crow's Nest after the wedding with the live band. Our guests all commented on what a great place it was and how they would like to come back for a vacation!

Tween Waters Inn was the perfect wedding venue for our wedding. The wedding coordinator on staff was extremely responsive to any questions we had through the course of the year. The location was WONDERFUL and all of our guests had a great vacation there and loved being able to have everything right there in one spot. The food and wedding cake were delicious and the venue was gorgeous. Getting married right on the beach was idylic. Costs were better than other options in the area and there wasn't anything I felt we missed in service. I also used the Tween Waters spa for hair and makeup and LOVED the outcome as well as had a great time with the ladies who worked there.
Highly recommend to anyone planning a destination wedding. My year and the wedding week were truly stress free because they took care of everything and made it so easy.

My Husband and I were married on the North Beach at Tween Waters Resort on December 4th, 2015 with 60 friends and family members. It was wonderful! If anything went wrong, then I had no idea! The wedding coordinator, Kelly, was wonderful and very responsive to all of our questions and concerns during our year of planning our destination wedding. We had the beach wedding of our dreams! Our reception was in the newly updated Wakefield Room and it was lovely. Food was great, we did a buffet of 3 entrees (top sirloin, grilled chicken, and blackened grouper) and all entrees and sides were delicious. Our guests had a blast at the Crow's Nest and Oasis and everyone stayed at Tween with really great discounted rates. Everyone was from out of town so it was really nice that the staff was so attentive to any issues that popped up or any special requests.
The only reason I could not do 5 stars for professionalism was due to us having 3 different wedding coordinators at the resort during our year of planning. Each of the 3 planners were great and attentive but it was a little unnerving that every few months we had to recap everything we had planned or discussed with the prior planner.
Overall it was so wonderful and went by so fast but Tween Waters and it's staff were great and we can't thank them enough for everything they did to make our week at Tween magical!

Our wedding went extremely well and was just PERFECT. Jana Philips and the staff at Tween Waters were absolutely amazing. Jana went above and beyond, helping us with the rehearsal dinner to the wedding ceremony and reception. I personally felt like she was a member of my own family and gave me wonderful advice and insight to ensure that we were happy on our special day. LOVE HER!

Our ceremony was breathtakingly beautiful! Just PERFECT!

A few notes:
- We held our reception in The Wakefield Room - which is just PERFECT for a wedding with 50 - 80 guests. We had 64 people and needed 7 round top tables (72") plus one sweetheart table. The linens that come with Tween waters are white and are not measured correctly for those size tables (I hope they fix that in the future, as you would expect that if they come part of the package, you are getting the right fit for tables). So make sure that you ask about that - Jana was great in letting me know in advance, but the woman that was working there before Jana was not open about that stuff... those are little details that you can forget as you are looking for a venue.
- Another aspect with The Wakefield Room - we hired an outside vendor (Island Events) to bring in Mahogony Chivalri Chairs with Ivory cushions and it really made the entire setting come together. The chairs that Tween Waters offers for this space are conference looking chairs - not appropriate for a wedding. You can either get them covered with chair covers, or you can do what I did (which I think really tied the room together) and get chilvari chairs.
- We had opted for getting AV/Mics on the beach during our ceremony, but when it came down to the moment to use them, they didn't work. All in all, it ended up working out and being even better without using them - as we only had 64 people and everyone could hear us on the beach. If you decide to use, make sure tech guy is there and they are on and ready to go.

We had our wedding ceremony & reception at Tween- Waters Inn Island Resort!! It was an absolute pleasure working with Christine Harrower - the sales manager at Tween. She made the wedding planning experience, which at times can feel overwhelming, extremely stress-free and fun.

Our reasons for choosing Tween-Waters:
* It offers a boat load of amenities & activities for all of our guests. The majority of our guests traveled from afar to share in this day with us. For that reason we still considered ourselves hosting a destination wedding, even though we are "locals."
* Room rates are extremely reasonable, especially since our wedding was at the end of January - "In Season" for SWFL.
The only negative with rooming is Tween-Waters does not offer "blocks" of rooms to wedding parties. Being that there is only 137 room possibilities to choose from, it is imperative your guests book early. (Again this is only important pending time of year, "In/Out" season, and size of wedding)
* Location! Location! Location!

Lastly, our suggestion for Tween-Waters: for such a gorgeous place to host your wedding we were disappointed to learn that there is NO onsite wedding coordinator.
* Although Christine H. was essential to our planning process Tween really needs 10 more of her.

Now that our wedding weekend is over, we are excited to hear all those fun stories from our guests. We look forward to returning for many anniversaries. We know Tween-Waters was the best place for us to stick our toes in the sand and say "I DO"!

Beautiful Location! Great Staff! 3 weeks after I am already having withdraw from the Tween Waters Inn! My new husband & some of our guests are already planning on taking another trip there for our 1 year anniversary. My only problem was that the ceremony was kind of rushed, I think because there were other weddings, but overall it was awesome! The ladies at the salon were also amazing. I highly recommend them!

I really loved working with Sherry and her staff. Dan, who made sure our reception ran well, did a great job, too. The food was excellent- my guests were talking about asking for the recipe for the salmon in puffed pastry with boursin and red peppers. Yum. The cake, also prepared by Tween Waters was also delicious. We loved everything about this.

The only thing I would have changed was the wedding planner/officiant, Nan. I tried to use her as a wedding planner as that is part of what she offers with her services, but when I e-mailed her a picture of exactly what flower arrangement I wanted, she came back with pictures of flowers very different from what I sent her and high prices. I was could not have been more direct with what I wanted in sending pictures of the actual arrangement of very common flowers- not sure what was so hard. I wound up contacting a florist (Sanibel Florist) and they were excellent. We also wound up using her to officiate our wedding, which while she did okay, she had asked us to pick which vows we wanted, which we did, and then she seemed to do the ones she wanted, which were a mix of her 4 options. In retrospect, I loved, loved, loved Sherry, but would avoid dealing with Nan in all respects.

Tween Waters location on both beach and bay is exceptional. The quality of customer service with the wedding event coordinator and also provided by the spa is very responsive and accommodating.

I am from Michigan and had a destination wedding on Captiva Island, Florida. My husband and I were really nervous picking a wedding site we had never been to before, but were totally impressed by Tween Waters. Sherry and her staff exceeded all of our expectations, and made our wedding day perfect. We were very happy with the way everything turned out, and would recommend this spot for any bride looking to get married on Captiva.

Christine, the Wedding Coordinator, was a pleasure to work with, guiding us through the planning of a destination wedding. The food was excellent, from the buffet for the wedding reception to the restaurants on property..kudos to the chefs! The accommodations appeared to be newly renovated and the property was well maintained. We were blessed with a picture perfect, beautiful day ... every brides dream!

The Resort is BEAUTIFUL and everything was taken care of! The food was amazing!! It's a very cute and romantic atmosphere. If you're looking to get married on the beach I would HIGHLY recommend Tween Waters!

By far the most beautiful beach wedding spot ever. Sucks that if you get married during wedding season you are likely seeing multiple weddings happen at the same time as your wedding just a little further down the beach.
I do feel taken advantage of by Tween Waters when it comes to charging me hundreds in random fees like COVID for service from staff. Getting the bill reminded me of my first cell phone bill.
The service is professional and attentive. The location is breathtaking.

The food was EXCELLENT. The waiters were great, the bartender not so much. The only thing I really didn't like was the preparation. I thought they jerked me around and didn't like when I made a final decision.

The venue was beautiful, but I was not impressed with their communication up to the wedding and on the wedding day. I should have known from the beginning not to book with them. Here are some of the issues that I had:
-Emailed to inquire about dates, took them 2 emails to get back to me
-Coordinator would not return voicemails, but then email me about something else (she’s no longer there)
-Was told I could pick my location on the beach for the ceremony, only for it to change a week before the wedding
-Hidden charges for “delivery fees” for chair covers & sashes
-Fees went up for package prices and was not told (they did end up honoring the original prices).
-I was trying to find a place to hold another ceremony we had to do (not on the beach) and they were not helpful. I ended up having to find a place when I arrived.
-Coordinator does not show you around when you arrive – you don’t meet her until she picks you up to take you to ceremony location. I asked to meet with her a few times when I arrived with no luck.
-Rushed the day of the wedding. Hair/makeup apt was late in day then they ran 30 minutes late. My hair/makeup was being done at the same time at one point. Hair was not complete and was sticking up and you could see the fake bun in pictures.
-We and our guests had issues with rooms (ie, 3 ppl arriving at midnight and put in a room w/ a king bed).
Our room was not upgraded and had to change mid trip when we realized there were upgraded rooms.

Food is good, location is great. The beach is a beautiful place to get married with the sunset, so I hope they try to improve on some of things I have mentioned above (mainly communication) going forward!

This is a good venue overall. However, don't expect any extra from them. You have to pay for every little thing which is really disappointing considering how much money you spend there for the event. They really rush you to start the ceremony and reception. My guests didn't even have time to enjoy the cocktail hr (which was more like 30-40 minutes). They rushed us with pictures between the ceremony and the reception. They didn't even want to give me time to go to the bathroom because they were in such a hurry to get the reception started. They rushed us to make sure the ceremony started on time. We actually started 7 minutes before the scheduled time. It was a little ridiculous.

I want to start this by saying that I love my wedding because it was mine, and I planned so many personal touches that I think the end result was beautiful. With that being said, if I could go back to the beginning of my planning, I would have come up with the money to fly to Florida and scout the venues and I wouldn't have gotten married at Tween Waters.

For me, Sherry was challenging to work with because of my super-organized personality! Because I work full time and we just bought a house so I was coordinating a move, I tried to get a lot of my wedding planning and organizing done ahead of schedule. There were many times that Sherry just wouldn't answer my questions ahead of time and said that we would talk about it 30 days out. I am a little anal so that bugged me. I even emailed her 37 days out and she told me the same thing. Finally when it came to 30 days out, between my schedule and hers we couldn't find time to talk. She was also a little abrupt and made me feel stupid when I asked her about certain things. Because I had never seen the venue or the room before, and I knew it was going to be upstairs, I asked her if there would be a good spot downstairs for everyone to go outside for our big exit. She had no idea what I was talking about, like a formal exit isn't something people do at weddings... This is probably because she had NOTHING to do with the reception. Her only job as wedding coordinator was to be at the rehearsal (which was an extra charge) and to make sure people walked down at the right pace during the ceremony. Also when I had originally booked my wedding back in June, I had booked it for March 10th. I changed the date to March 17th about two weeks later because I found out my sister was pregnant and needed another week's time to recover. So it was early enough of a change to make the necessary adjustments. However she did not take into account daylight savings time, and EVERYTHING I had planned revolved around the sun setting at 6:30. Well a few days before the wedding I found out that the sun wouldn't be setting until 7:30 and she acted like it was my fault for changing my wedding date- back in JUNE!
The room we got married in was the Wakefield room, and it is a standard hotel conference room. Not exactly the gorgeous reception room type. The Old Captiva house and Sunset room looked better with their french doors and wood floors. I wish I had known this, but oh well. Also if you pay 1500 for a room you imagine that you get to use everything in it, but so not the case. There is a projector in the room that is already there, set up and connected, BUT you have to pay $200 to use it... The beach was beautiful and the day was perfect, HOWEVER I must have asked her 50 times on the phone and in person about clearing the general area of people for the wedding ceremony so that Joe Shmo in the Speedo wasn't in my Ceremony photos. This certainly didn't happen. There were people walking around in bathing suits in the back of my pictures- you would think they would have the decency to move down the beach. Other than that, the ceremony was beautiful! PS DON'T use the arch that they offer with the package it is so tacky- we got a Huppa from Libby's flower that was GORGEOUS!

The food was very good. I had quite a few complaints that the steak was cooked anywhere from Medium Rare to Well done and they were all supposed to be Medium, but I feel like that happens at weddings everywhere. The chicken Wellington was very yummy! Our hors d'oeuvres were very good as well. But oh the bar.... we had this awful older lady as a bartender who was very rude! We had payed for cocktail hour and the first hour of the reception to be full premium bar, then the rest of the time we payed for Beer, Wine, and Soda, and we also bought 6 gallons or so of our signature cocktail. As soon as the first two hours were over, the bar tender started charging everyone for all drinks, and told me that I had only paid for a cash bar! I had to fight with her until she corrected it to a BWS bar. Then she was also charging people for the signature drinks after the first two hours even though I paid for those by the gallon! Unfortunately I had no idea about this until after the fact when my sister told me she paid 8.50 to try my signature drink.

Keep in mind you get NO perks for choosing this as your wedding destination. You don't get treated any differently, you don't get a complimentary room or a complimentary ANYTHING for that matter! My husband and his friends wanted to play poker the night before, and they went to ask if there was anywhere they could play because the rooms were so tiny they couldn't fit (even though his best man booked a 3 room suite and thought it would be a good size- so not the case). They couldn't find ANYWHERE in the whole resort for the guys to play poker, not even in the room we already had reserved and set up for the next day. Crazy. NO PERKS!

Positives: the beach and weather was beautiful, the guy that picked me up in the golf cart and helped with the flowers was VERY nice! The chicken wellington was tasty, and the recommended vendor list is very good. We used Black Tie, Libby's flowers, and Seaside Strings and they were all FABULOUS!

I originally didn’t want to write a negative review because I am a very positive person but I couldn’t let this review go by to save another bride for a chaotic and stressful experience. My husband and I picked Tween Waters as our venue for our dream beach wedding. We utilized their private beach area and banquet room for our receptions. We had family member flying in from all over the country so it seemed to be the perfect spot to fit everyone. It was one disappointment after another. Communication was very difficult between wedding planners / event staff. We were actually switched wedding planners which took two weeks to hear back to find this info out. Due to the switch in wedding planners we were unable to taste the food for our reception. Also, hair consultations at their spa were cancelled without much noticed. We are states away from FL so it was important to wrap everything up when in town. Which I had made appointments in advance. Another bummer - our reception time was originally quoted as “you have the room for as long as you like” turned out that was not the case. Two weeks before the event we found out we had the room only till 10. This put a rush the entire day and reception festivities. The wedding on the beach was beautiful however, my husband and I were rushed by Vicki, the wedding planner to cut photo time on the beach. Everything was incredibly rushed. The staff at the resort was rude to us on several occasions. My father was rudely asked to leave the property as he was trying to find a parking spot for the wedding as we were told parking passes were not necessary. Our guest were promised a food voucher apron arrival from their booking special, no one in our party received one. I was told their was minimal construction going on at the property during our wedding. However, the construction closed their main restaurants on the property and an inconvience to many. For the price of the venue and what is offered, I would look into a differently property. There was on excuse for every hiccup from the planner or staff. It’s unfortunate, we experienced so many hiccups during this special time. I’m not sure we will go back for an anniversary visit.
