Boxwood is Amazing!!!
Where do I even start! Boxwood was so amazing and easy to work with. From the first meeting to the catering meetings to meeting and working with our amazing coordinator, Rachel, Boxwood made us feel taken care of. The food on the day of was absolutely delicious and we got many compliments. Everything on the day of went exactly to plan all thanks to the amazing team and especially our coordinator, Rachel. She went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of and so were our guests. Every instruction I gave was followed to a T, and I couldn’t have done any of the wedding without them. I am so happy we got married at the Trinity River Audubon center which is absolutely gorgeous, and that we had Boxwood to help us every step of the way. If you are on the fence, DO IT! Your day will be so much easier with Boxwood and their staff! -

Boxwood Hospitality (Maggie, Carly, and Chef Justo) did an outstanding job of both setting the stage for a magical evening, as well as eliminating much of the stress of planning in the weeks and months prior to our wedding day. Their knowledge of relevant vendors, great selection of venues, and an absolutely incredible kitchen ensured that our most special day was exactly the high quality and memorable event that we had hoped for.
Maggie kept us organized and on-time throughout the long planning and execution phases, and she and her team responded to questions and emails quickly and effectively. During the event they were nimble and responsive to small change requests and we felt thoroughly at ease throughout. Maggie has a deep passion for her work and her warm and energetic personality made her a pleasure to work with. Chef Justo deserves a special shout out as our guests all pointed out that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Highly recommended! *chef's kiss* -

We wanted to choose a venue that was partially inclusive- they provide catering, month-of-coordinator, bartenders, servers, all the stuff you would normally have to rent (linens, chairs, etc.). Everyone at Boxwood was fantastic, especially our coordinator, Emma! She was super friendly, very communicative, and made wedding planning seem easy. We chose a meal plan that included a charcuterie, and everyone loved the food. We would definitely recommend Trinity River Audubon Center, as well as Boxwood. Also, the weather was perfect on our wedding day! I know that has nothing to do with the venue/vendor, lol. -

The Trinity River Audubon Center is such a unique wedding venue, with it's beautiful glass building looking out into the dense greenery of southeast Dallas. You feel transported out of the city! Not only was the venue an absolute dream, but Boxwood Hospitality was amazing to work with! From our first consult to our wedding day, they were incredibly professional and personable. Madison was our Boxwood coordinator and she was always quick to reply to our questions and so sweet! Chef Justo and the catering team were also fantastic! Anyone who chooses to work with Boxwood will not be disappointed! -

We are so glad we chose the Trinity River Audubon Center for our wedding venue. The architecture/structure of the building is impressive with the nature that surrounds it. We also love that it focuses on environmentalism and sustainability. We had an amazing experience with Boxwood. The Supper Series that is put on for clients to try the meals is fantastic. Every staff member from Justo Blanco, the chef, to Kristi Snow, the bar manager, and to the wait staff were highly professional, highly competent, and offered us amazing service. We must reiterate how impressive Justo is! Our venue coordinator Madison was friendly, communicative and courteous. The food was phenomenal and service was stellar. Our guests could not stop complimenting how delicious the food was from the appetizers, the dinner and the late night snack of chicken biscuits. Our one regret is that we did not have to-go boxes! Ugh! Remember that! -

The Trinity River Audubon Center, Boxwood and Rachel Jones (day of coordinator) were a huge part of our wedding day and we couldn’t have picked a better location/hospitality group for the big day.
The venue, TRAC, was a beautiful place to celebrate with our friends and family. We had about 90 guests, including children, who were able to walk the nature trails, view the exhibits inside the venue (which includes turtles!) and enjoy the outdoors leading up to and after the ceremony. I can’t stress enough how much we loved the venue. I personally felt we didn’t need a lot of floral or lights or “fluff” because the space and outside was elegant enough.
Boxwood was easy to work with. They take care of the catering and were in constant communication with us throughout the planning process. We enjoyed the event they host where you can try the food options you choose for the wedding. The food was tasty and they have a variety of options couples can pick from.
In addition to taking care of the catering (so nice to deal with one less thing), couples are assigned a day of coordinator about 4 months out from the wedding date.
We worked with Rachel Jones who was fabulous and helped us with all our questions or concerns. Having recently attended my sisters wedding where they did not have a coordinator, I was extremely thankful we had Rachel. Even more so since we live out of state. She helped us finalize our ceremony and reception details. I had given my fiancé two vendors to sort out- he sat on those tasks for weeks. During our first meeting with Rachel, she recommended vendors for each of the two categories he was looking for and within the week, they were booked. And we loved the recommendations she gave/we went with! On the day of our wedding, she made sure all of our vendors were on the same page and following the same schedule. As a bride, I did not have the mental capacity for a lot the day of but Rachel was on top of everything!
I highly recommend the TRAC and Rachel if you are looking for a wedding space in the DFW area! -

Best Wedding Vendor Company
Firstly, the Trinity River Audubon Center is such a gorgeous location. I loved it from the moment I saw it.
Boxwood Hospitality was one of the best vendors I came across. They were so attentive to any need I had and made our day go by seamlessly. Maggie was raved about from everyone at the wedding. Their dedication to their couples is outstanding and would recommend anyone having a wedding to look at all of their locations because they truly were the best.

Responsive, helpful, attentive - just do it
Imagine getting the care and attentiveness for the core issues a wedding planner would handle - day of coordination, information of the venue, vendor interactions and planning, etc.
In a sea of traditionally unresponsive venue and event coordinators, Boxwood SHINES through in EVERY SERVICE they offered. They accommodated and helped to shepherd my recently wheelchair-bound father, their chef revived a dish to scratch an itch for my indian family, and every time i needed to talk or email with someone I got a response in a day or less.
If i had a second or third wedding, id be back instantly. Seriously, these guys were venue number 8 and by FAR the most responsive and organized. We are lobbying our best friend to have her wedding with Boxwood to spare her the stress of wedding planning.
Save your gray hairs, your time, your stress-induced procrastination. Chef Justo and Maggie S will take care of you. -

We couldn’t have dreamt of a more incredible wedding!
My husband and I feel so lucky to have found the TRAC for our wedding! We came to Texas from California (my husband is from Texas and we currently live in the Bay Area of Cali where I grew up), and my only request was that we found a wedding venue outside with lots of nature. I saw the pictures of TRAC online and immediately fell in love with the nature and beauty of the building both inside and out. We didn’t need many decorations because the venue is already filled with so much beauty. A major plus to the inside where we had the reception was that, even though you’re inside, with the floor to ceiling windows, you feel taken outside. We had a view of the sunset while dancing which was incredible.
From day one of contacting TRAC we were attended to, communication was so easy, and we felt very taken care of. Another huge perk was that we were given a day of event coordinator, Abby, who made sure our wedding day went smoothly. She is incredible! Being out of state, we met with her on zoom and she made us feel so at ease, helping us organize and plan the day. We knew every step of the way that TRAC was the perfect place for us.
We are also vegan and were so pleased that there were so many vegan options to choose from with the boxwood catering company that works with TRAC. The bartenders were amazing making sure everyone had drinks, and everyone was raving about the food. The stuffed mushrooms and French onion dip were incredible! I had so many of our family and friends tell us it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, and the beauty and care of TRAC, and support and care from Abby made it all possible! We can’t express enough that this is the venue to make all your wedding dreams come true, it did for us! -

Everything about my experience with the Audubon was wonderful! One of the biggest perks of booking this venue is the day-of coordinator which is included with the venue package. They are much more than a day-of coordinator and start working with you months before your wedding. I was lucky enough to have Maggie Smith as my coordinator, and I cannot say enough good things about her! She was extremely organized and on top of things both before my wedding and on the wedding day. She went above and beyond to make sure that she could accommodate any needs of my family, my guests and myself. She was extremely friendly and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the entire day. I would recommend Maggie and the Audubon to anyone! -

Spring Wedding
My husband and I had an incredible experience at TRAC and with the entire Boxwood team. The combination of natural and architectural beauty of the venue cannot be beat! We loved that there were multiple spaces for our wedding party and guests to enjoy and explore throughout the day- there was so much beautiful nature surrounding every sunlight-drenched wall of windows. Logistics of parking and entry were easy for guests, even our older grandparents were able to access the venue with ease. Andria, who gave us our initial tours of TRAC and the other beautiful Boxwood venue, The Cliff House, was patient and flexible with our schedules and questions. She shared helpful information and asked questions to truly help us determine which of the venues might be a good fit for us. Abby, our day of coordinator with Boxwood, was wonderful! From our first meeting with her, my husband and I felt confident that she would take care of us, our guests, and our wedding day with utmost professionalism and love. She made us feel special, at ease, and like we had been friends for years. The same can be said for chef Justo who met with us months in advance to design a highly personalized catering menu. Andria, Abby, Justo, and the whole Boxwood team really care about the couples with whom they are working and the work they are doing, and it shows! Not only are their standards high, their communication and coordination impeccable, and their food and decor refined, the people working for Boxwood are warm, kind, helpful, and genuine. It was a pleasure to work with Andria, Abby, Justo, and the Boxwood team, and a joy to celebrate our wedding with family and friends at TRAC! -

Amazing from start to finish!
Trinity River Audubon Center could not have been a more perfect venue! The stunning modern architecture of the building against the gorgeous backdrop of the nature sanctuary is really just breathtaking. The day was almost like a dream…beautiful, meaningful, and everything flowed so smoothly. Boxwood Hospitality with Maggie Smith did an AMAZING job from initial planning literally through the very end of the night! She went above and beyond over and over for us. Keestone Events’ Kelly Sheikh was incredible to work with and lead the entire team with expertise and a calming, organized demeanor through the whole process. I would highly recommend this beautiful venue that’s filled with a story of redemption and natural beauty beyond compare.

Boxwood Hospitality was simply wonderful to work with. Andy was the first person that I spoke with and she scheduled and handled our initial tour at the TRAC. She is so sweet, helpful, and responsive. I absolutely love her. If you don't get to work with her, don't worry because I am pretty sure that everyone that works for Boxwood is great and helpful! The day of coordinator that was assigned to our wedding was a lovely person named Abby. She helped set everything up and made sure that our wedding went smoothly (and it totally did). My wedding day was perfect. Boxwood made our special day everything I wanted and more. My husband and I are SO happy that we used Boxwood and chose to have our wedding at the TRAC. -

An absolute dream venue and team
I fell in love with The Audubon immediately. The huge windows, the beautiful architecture, the ceiling and walls; every part of this physical space was stunning. Even beyond the gorgeous physical setting, Boxwood and their entire team know what they’re doing. The catering, which is through them, was incredible. I have several friends and family with food allergies, and they accommodated everything easily. The food was delicious, and they make everything in such a way that no food is wasted. The bar area is centrally located without disrupting the dance floor, and when I asked that special care be given for recycling, they told me they already have that in place! Working with Ashley was especially wonderful. I had a planner, but the coordinator at TRAC was also readily available, and had solutions for every single scenario I had questions about. Ashley was truly a dream to work with. From start to finish, every person I worked with at TRAC and Boxwood was genuinely incredible. They know their stuff. But perhaps the best part of working with them was how special our wedding day felt. I know they do this nearly every weekend with hundreds (maybe thousands) of couples. Yet my family and I felt like our wedding was the only one on their plate. They cared about our questions and were excited with us every step of the way. I loved working with this team and cannot recommend them, or this stunning site, enough. Thank you all so much. -

I can't say enough about how lucky we were to find TRAC and their team. We planned our wedding reception barely a month out (I know, we're crazy), and Maggie and Boxwood Hospitality made is SO easy. The venue rental had all the accommodations, and it was very reasonably priced considering you get full catering services and the ENTIRE venue which is absolutely stunning. We got so many compliments on the building and food. Even our photographer was amazed by how many good shooting locations there were! Most importantly Maggie and her team went and above and beyond to make our night happy without a hitch. I was definitely a stressed bride and everyone was so kind and helpful. My husband and I were a two person decorating team and Maggie and her crew jumped at every opportunity to help with setup, guests, and more. I would recommend TRAC and Boxwood Hospitality to anyone. -

Wonderful experience working with Carly Suhr and team
My husband and I were looking to have a reception a year after our covid wedding, and we stumbled on the Audubon - their website listed pricing clearly and the photos looked beautiful. It was close enough to the city but far enough to be a special trip to a nature setting for many guests. The indoor and outdoor spaces offered the flexibility we were looking for during a winter event with Covid concerns. And frankly it's just gorgeous inside and out! Everyone we worked with was pleasant and professional, from the initial walk-through appointment to the crew who worked the event. Carly was our venue coordinator and she did an amazing job - she patiently answered all our questions in detail, walked us through all the proceedings and gave great suggestions, and kept all the details with her throughout the process. Our wedding went perfectly smooth because she kept everything humming. She cared about us and our needs, and always made us a high priority. Chef Justo took great care of us and our guests' dietary needs, took detailed notes from the tasting, and personally ensured everything was prepped to our liking at the event - our guests couldn't stop raving about the excellent hor d'oeuvres and meals at the reception! My husband and I wanted to work with a hospitality staff whom we can trust to handle all things big and small, and they nailed everything we asked for! We couldn't be happier to have worked with Boxwood Hospitality to make our reception a reality. Highly recommend! -

Just the right amount of everything
The Audubon was a perfect venue for us, and Boxwood met our needs nicely. We were laid back in the grand scheme of things, but still knew what we wanted. The level of attention from our coordinator was perfect, and I am sure we could have utilized Maggie more if needed.
We had trust in the schedule and general plan, while still being able to customize every step of the way. You will go crazy trying to know every little detail, and we took a leap with faith with Boxwood and were entirely rewarded. Maggie arranged our perfect timeline and executed our day of with basically only 3 meetings. The venue itself was perfect and gorgeous and we were able to bring so many of our littlest details to life easily. Boxwood works with many vendors so you have lots of options, but we tried as much as we could to stick with the basic offering, and it was beautiful! so entirely up to you if you want the upgrades, rest assured everything will come together without.
I would definitely recommend this venue and the boxwood vendor team. It really seems you can engage as much or as little as you like. We were pretty busy with the rest of our lives, but every email was answered, no issue with text message, and seriously everything went off without a hitch!
Basically seems like you can obsess as much or as little as you like, and be confident you will still get married and have a beautiful event. -

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with my daughter's wedding at Trinity River Audubon Center. The facility is a stunning venue, with both outdoor and indoor spaces. The staff at Boxwood, particularly Ashley, were professional, friendly and thorough in helping us plan and execute all aspects. We didn't really need a wedding planner due to the extensive assistance provided by Boxwood. Everything from start to finish was impeccable. Plan your event here! You won't be disappointed. -

Carly suhr is amazing!
We had a beautiful wedding at the Trinity River Audubon Center. Everything about Boxwood hospitality is great but what took our experience from great to AMAZING was our event Cordinator Carly Suhr. She was so nice, responsive, collaborative, and made our whole experience actually fun and seamless day off the wedding. We were able to stay present and enjoy every moment of our wedding because Carly was VERY organized, strategic, timely, and most importantly able to handle multiple situations under pressure. Carly made our experience 5 stars and we highly recommend requesting her if you are planning a wedding with Boxwood hospitality. -

I started my search looking for a rooftop venue which brought my to Boxwood Hospitality, and oh my, thank heavens. I cannot say enough about Boxwood, my phenomenal coordinator Maggie and her entire team, and the Trinity River Audubon Center. I wanted a venue that would handle food, setup, breakdown, and coordination and Boxwood delivered. While Maggie was technically my "day of" coordinator, she was incredibly responsive to any/all questions leading up to the big day and truly took care of everything and all the important people at the wedding. The venue itself is magical, with so many different photo opportunities and an incredibly unique space to say your vows, we still have people waxing on about how amazing the location (and celebration!) was.
I truly cannot praise Boxwood Hospitality, and Maggie, enough. If you're contemplating working with them, contemplate no longer and do it. It will make your already stressful wedding planning SO much easier. -
Madeilne Sent on 11/14/2017The Trinity River Audubon Center is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL wedding venue! It's so unique and it gave a very intimate feel while still being roomy enough for our 150 guests. The modern building and wildlife trails gave for a good variety of photo backdrops. We had our ceremony out on the scissor tail deck and it was fantastic. And the sunset coming in through the tall windows in the reception area was so romantic and dreamy!
Some things to note:
1. This is not a traditional wedding venue, so while it may seem cheap to rent the space, keep in mind that you have to rent literally everything else as well. The tables, chairs, lighting, plates, utensils, etc. That adds up really quickly.
2. You are required to use Bolsa Mercado as your caterer, and while their food is delicious (we got so many compliments on the food) they are way over priced.
3. While a lot of previous reviews complain about the venue coordinator Shannon, I did not have a problem with her, and she actually resigned right before my wedding. So you won't have to worry about her. The woman who took her place was very professional and responsive.
4. There is not a traditional getting ready location for either the bride or groom. They just provide separate conference rooms to hang out in before the ceremony. Me and my bridesmaids got ready off-site.
5. The arbor in my pictures is not provided by the venue. A family member made it for me and my husband and we took it with us.
Overall, I loved this venue. It was perfect for my intimate, nature-themed wedding.

Mike Sent on 01/13/2018Initially they were great and then their coordinator left. During the transition we tried to reach out proactively as hadn’t heard much to a response of no worries we’ve got it. Then less than a month from the event we got a call that they weren’t sure of our linens, table set ups, etc etc - I reached out to the director of the center requesting a call back to no reply. Otherwise the space is absolutely stunning and would expect this will pass as they get their ducks in a row as overall the new coordinator we worked with the last month was good but definitely was room for significant improvement throughout as well as responsive. All of our guests loved the space and it was fairly easy setup and take down at the space.
