Wedding Dress Cleaning

I brought my wedding dress to Treasured Garment Restoration 4 years after our wedding and 5 weeks before I wanted part of it made into a bow tie for our son’s baptism. Not only were they able to assess and completely remove all the stains, I had the dress back in 2 weeks. The dress looks just like it did the day I bought it!

Stain and smell on brand new wedding dress

When I received my wedding dress, I was concerned about a chemical smell on the bodice and a stain on the left shoulder. Treasured Garments by St. Croix Cleaners was able to remove both issues from my dress within two weeks to accommodate a dress appointment I had with a seamstress. They are easy to work with and very kind!

This was the perfect solution to get my wedding dress cleaned and preserved after my wedding. They have so many options so I was able to pick exactly what I wanted. I also found the prices very reasonable and could not have been happier with the communication. I highly recommend to all brides!

In the last few years, I have had 3 wedding dress restored by Treasured Garment Restoration. The dresses belong to my daughters and daughter-in-law. The entire process; from bringing the dresses in, to the fnal viewing, and final packaging of dresses was done professionally and respectfully. The staff was wonderful to work with.

At first my daughters didn't think they cared if the dresses were cleaned and restored but now they are happy I did it.

Outstanding!!

Absolutely amazing!! With Covid 19 my wedding was postponed and had two separate ceremony and reception days. I took my wedding dress in for a cleaning after my ceremony and took it back after for preservation because of their great service! I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to clean / preserve there wedding dress! The staff was soo helpful and amazing and did an outstanding job getting the dress spotless! Also, very reasonably priced for services.

Fast and Quality Job!

I actually waited a year to get my wedding dress cleaned…not on purpose, I just forgot about it! There were all kinds of grass and dirt stains and they were able to clean it all to pristine condition! It looked brand new again—I was amazed! Definitely recommend!

I was very impressed with Treasured Garment Restoration's preservation and cleaning services and the care and attention paid to my dress. The intake was comprehensive; we examined every aspect of the dress. They clearly described the process and what to expect, and the dress was done on time and as quoted. Wedding dress preservation.

I dropped off the dress which had a lot of dirty discoloration from a night of dancing. The dress had multiple layers yet the expert care cleaned the dress and packaged it in a box to keep for future anniversary milestones.

Inexpensive and great work

Somehow got my beer soaked wedding dress that I refused the bustle all night perfectly clean! Also was one of the cheaper shops I quoted around the cities. Great work!

Piece of Mind Cleaning !

I had a destination wedding in Cozumel and the bottom of my dress was covered in sand . They were able to clean this out of my Rue De Seine Avril gown and I was able to sell it on Stillwhite.com for a great price . Looked like new when I got it back!

Somehow my daughter and I just didn't get around to having her beautiful designer wedding dress cleaned and boxed until now....over five years after the event. It was just hanging in the back of my closet. There were a few spots, probably red wine, on the very front of the dress. I had no idea they would ever come out, but Treasured Garment did an outstanding job of making the dress look nearly as good as the day it was worn. I almost used a place in California, for nearly double the price, until I called Macy's and asked who they recommended, it was TGR. I couldn't be any more satisfied. My daughter hasn't seen it yet, but I'm sure she'll be thrilled. She had planned on selling the gown until she had a baby girl!!!

I wore my mother's wedding gown from 1955. Now my daughter wants to wear the gown, twice worn and may years of aging! It was never museum preserved so it had aged to an overall beige color. The people at Treasured garment restoration took it, assured me they could clean it and it would no longer be beige and have minor stains on it. They did what they said!!! It is beautiful! It came back a light ivory color and the stains are gone. My daughter had tears when she took it out of the cleaning bag and saw it! We are both SO APPRECIATIVE of the work done by Treasured Garment Restoration. She will be a beautiful bride in a treasured heirloom thanks to Treasured Garment restoration!!!!! Amazing Alteration Specialist!

Stan was great

Stan helped me alter my wedding dress sleeves and back. He was easy to work with and provided additional suggestions that made my dress even better. The quality of the work was wonderful. My dress was even ready a few days before it was promised. I would highly recommend them for any wedding dress alterations.

Simply Amazing! Monica is phenomenal at what she does!

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDS MONICA FOR YOUR ALTERATIONS NEEDS--YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

I did a lot of research when it comes to who is the right person to do the alteration for my wedding dress. I met with 8 alteration shops throughout the Twin Cities after narrowing down from a list of 12. All came with 15+ of experiences and high recommendations. My colleagued recommended Monica and she stood out for 2 reasons: 1) she was the only one who didn't suggest shorten my waist by taking it at the shoulders, which everyone else wanted to do, she actually recommended going at the waist and worked with the lace even though it's more complex 2) she gave me the best quote for the things I wanted to do with my dress. I quickly realized how fair her pricing was and how everyone else was overpriced for the same alteration requests. Her years of experiences of making dresses and alternating them are beautifully highlighted in her work. Monica is truly talented.

I actually had buyers remorse when I my dress because it didn't look quite flattering on my short petite frame compared to the tall model. What makes matter worst was that bridal shop I got my dress from insisted I was size 8 in the dress and not a size 6 simply due to a .5 inch difference in the waist. I normally wear size 2 for a normal dress. Monica took in 4.5 inches from the waist and tailored the rest of my lace top to make me feel and look beautiful. By the time she was done, I looked exactly how I imagined the dress would on me! Thank you so much, Monica. Your talents deserves the highest awards and the fair pricing was so much appreciated.

Monica is also so personable and fun. She made my bridemaid and I feel so comfortable and at home in the shop. BOOK MONICA FOR YOUR WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS! It will be one of the smartest thing you'd do for your wedding, at least that was for me.

Outstanding work

Unbeknownst to me this gown had just been hanging in an attic closet of my family’s old home. I thought it had been donated years earlier. This gown sat in that closet for almost 50 years, uncleaned since my wedding day, smoked stained, train was stained from dragging behind this bride and other reception stains. After your work, it was returned to me looking like I could step into it again today. All stains and discolorations were removed and integrity of the fabric was not compromised.

When I asked my mom about the possibility of wearing her wedding dress, she did some research and found Darcy at St Croix's Cleaners in Minneapolis. At the time, I was deployed to Afghanistan, so my mom met with Darcy a few times with the dress to look at the possibility and to have it cleaned. Darcy is extremely busy, but we were able to get some design ideas going over email before i was first able to go in for a consultation. At the first appointment, we finalized our design and she did some pinning. Because i was just visiting for a few days, she was able to do the first round of alterations in days and had me back in to give it a try. It was almost perfect, so we talked about a few changes and she was able to do those without having me come back in. When i tried on the dress on my wedding day, it was more perfect than I ever could have imagined. She is an amazing designer and I'm confident no one else could have done what she did!! Everyone was amazed by the dress and it's something my mom and I can treasure forever. Thank you Darcy for all you do!!

I searched the internet for a PROFESSIONAL textile restorer and found Treasured Garment Restoration. I sent my mother's Parisian Opera Gown circa 1950 for cleaning and restoration and was amazed at the beautiful result. Kat and the crew kept me informed throughout the process and the price was less than I had anticipated. The gown is now stored in an archival box with a muslin cover. I love showing it off to both family and friends!

Trashed gorgeous gown is near perfect

My daughter was married 2 years ago in 2021. The outdoor wedding, reception and midnight walk in the lake destroyed her dress. It was packed away for 2 years, molding, while the couple relocated. I was able obtain the gown and bring it to Treasured Garment Restoration. By reputation, they were the only cleaners who had a chance to revive the gown. A few weeks later I received a call that the gown had been successfully cleaned. I made an appointment to view the gown, and see the near perfect condition it is in now, before the staff folded the gown and placed it in the box. I am still astounded. I thought the gown was a lost cause. Treasured Garment Restoration lives up to their reputation.

My wedding gown was in need of a last minute steam/press as my seamstress did not take care of this prior to me originally picking up my gown. At Croix cleaners/Treasured Garment took my gown last minute to ensure there were no wrinkles in the fabric for my wedding day.

I needed a last minute press for my gown (two weeks before my wedding - because I had improperly stored it, woops). I contacted St. Croix cleaners and spoke with Dwayne. He was very thorough in explaining the process, what to expect and how to proceed. I dropped my dress off for an estimate and they got back to me right away with a very reasonable quote. After I got the dress back, I was about 80% satisfied with the press so I mentioned this politely to Dwayne and asked him to look at it with me to see if it was realistic to get the results I was after. He definitely went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied. He wowed me and re-pressed the dress is record time. The dress looked AMAZING when he was done with it. This could have easily been a "horror story" but their customer service was fantastic. Work with Dwayne. He is awesome! Thanks!!

Baptismal Gown

My gown was first worn by father in law whose aunt made it for his baptism in 1909. All my sons wore this gown as well as other members of the family. I now want my grand daughter to wear it but it needed cleaning and some restoration. I took it to Treasured Restoration and Heather was great to work with. At one point my gown had to have a repair and she saw to it that just the right restoration person did the repair and it looks perfect. It is stunning and my grand daughter will look darling in this gorgeous gown

I brought my wedding dress in.. regretfully a few months after my wedding! The bottom of the dress was covered in beer and dirt/mud, to the point where I had accepted that the stains would remain. Everyone was helpful and responsive. They answered all of my questions, and I felt very comfortable leaving my dress in their hands. Lucky Day #1, I had saved a Pioneer Press article about cleaning and preserving special gowns. UNLUCKY day, I opened the box where my christening gown was stored and discovered the front was entirely yellow, actually, more like coffee-brown! I was sick. Local cleaners said it was beyond help. Lucky Day #2, I called Kat at Treasured Garments. Lucky Day #3, she called me after receiving it and said, I believe we can totally restore it! Lucky Day #4 Yesterday, another of my granddaughters was christened in this gown, which is as old as I am, 68 years. It was snow-white and, indeed, treasured. Great service!! The box and presentation: beautiful. This gown now has twelve names embroidered on it, marking each who wore it!

My daughter's beautiful wedding gown was soiled about 12-15 inches up from the bottom with ground in dirt and spilled beverages from the dance floor the night of their reception. Plus some red wine spills on the front of skirt. When I saw it, I just assumed that there would be no way that it could be cleaned and made to look like new again. I contacted St. Croix Cleaners in Stillwater,MN and set up an appt. for an estimate. They were quite positive that they would be able to get most all of it out, and were very friendly, professional etc. We had wanted to have it boxed and preserved, but only if it could be cleaned satisfactorily. They said they would call when they had it finished so I could come down to inspect it before making that decision. They offered some flexibility as I was not able to make it the same day they called. When I arrived they had it hanging and displayed for me to look at closely. I was amazed!! They did an awesome job in getting all of the stains out. The one area that I could faintly tell was only because I knew where to look. They had said it they had attempted to clean more in that area that it would have ruined the dress fabric and make it appear fuzzy. However, like I said if I hadn't known the dress was stained prior, I wouldn't have been able to tell at all. They also arranged the dress beautifully in a lovely box with a window and guaranteed that it would stay looking the same way it does today, forever.

I had my wedding dress cleaned before the wedding because I had found mine at a local bridal consignment shop. It was satin with beading and tulle. It was not stained; simply dingy looking with a couple very tiny spots near the bottom. The bust had some pilling which they shaved off during the cleaning. I feel the cost was a bit high for the service, however the end result was indeed beautiful. I saw no problems when I picked it up. Due to the cost of the cleaning before the wedding, I have hesitated to return to have it re-cleaned/preserved.

Treasured Garment,

I brought my mother's wedding gown which my mother wore in 1946. There were some zigzag stains on the train and a couple on the right shoulder. Heather was up front with me regarding the stains - that though they have much success, there may be some that don't entirely come out. I really appreciated and valued her honest. To me, this shows integrity, as I realized this was a vintage gown that had had these stains for many years and it was hard to identify what they were from.
There were able to get most of the stains out quite well. And though dinghy when I brought it in, it was so bright and fresh once cleaned! I marveled at that!
Also, there were 27 buttons that had to be taken off in the back before cleaning and then re attached and Monica did a beautiful job as the back of the dress is quite elegant.
Thank you for taking on a challenge and handling my mother's wedding gown that I cherish having and plan to wear.

I took my daughters pre-owned dress to be cleaned and pressed, with only 2 weeks until the wedding. In a previous conversation they had told me that was about the right amount of time to keep it pressed after we got it home. They called me the Monday after they got the dress to say that both of their primary wedding gown pressing experts were out, one had a high fever the other man's wife had had a heart attack over the weekend. Completely reasonable right! In spite of this they assured me that the dress would be ready on time. I was worried but..... the next day they sent the dress out --- it wasn't quite perfect and yes I was fussy... Duane, the presser who's wife was in the hospital, called me to talk about what the problems were and what he could and couldn't do to fix any of them. We spoke for about 15 min so he could be sure he understood my concerns. Because of the weight of the dress he promised to construct a custom frame to hold the dress and train in place. He promised to go in early the next day so I would have the dress Thursday afternoon for the Saturday wedding. It was perfect when we got it back. I would recommend Duane to handle any special occasion dress with tender loving care.

Getting my dress cleaned by Treasured Garment Restoration was a great decision. The value was super good and my dress is in pristine condition now. Highly recommend.

The dress came back clean. They took great care to not damage the lace which was very nice. However, I had shipped the dress through WhiteWay cleaners on grand and did not feel that they provided very good service. For example, when I arrived to inspect my dress I had to find a "slight" shadow the cleaning was unable to get out of the dress instead of WhiteWay simply providing me with the information card Treasured Garments had provided.

Treasured Garment Restoration was very professional and did a nice job of cleaning and restitching my dress. There were a few tough stains that did not come out, but they are hidden underneath.

Honestly - it was way more than I expected to pay - you did an excellent job but I wish I could have used my st. croix cleaner coupon.

Thank you for your dress cleaning service. I chose St. Croix Cleaners because they support "green" cleaning and it important to me not to be wearing excess chemicals on my wedding day and risk a rash! The staff at the counter were friendly.and inspected the gown fully upon arrival to note any stains or other issues before taking the dress for cleaning. I'm not sure what the standard is for cost or time for cleaning. I felt like both were a bit high, but I was ok with that for the "green" cleaning, but the length of time for cleaning made me nervous (an entire month), but as I said this could be normal for a wedding gown. Overall though, I'm happy with the service and would go back, especially now that the wedding is over to have the dress preserved.

Highly disappointed in the poor customer service I received in bridal restoration. I was promised my dress per me receipt on September 28. I just got my dress today October 23. I requested when I dropped my dress off on August 20th to view it before it was placed in the box. I never received a call to view the dress so in September I called and they said it has been ready to view. The lady at that time said it should be ready within a week, I again received no call and called the Stillwater location Yesterday, October 23. They said it had been ready since October 10 (promised to me Sept 28). I went to Stillwater and my dress was not there it was in Woodbury. Went to Woodbury, discussed my experience with them, talked to someone over the phone about my experience said they couldn't do anything and that they had tried calling me even though it was a blatant lie as I use my phone and voicemail on a daily basis for work and have no issues. I am highly disappointed in the lack of customer service when I spent $350. I understand things happen but when they deny that anything happened even though there is proof, it is highly disappointing. I was hoping to use their business in the future for dry cleaning but after the way I was treated I will not be using or recommending this business.

They weren't going to let me take a look at the finished product before picking it up/paying for it. I told them I wanted to inspect it before paying for it/storing it for years and it took weeks for them to be able to arrange this, then they weren't able to. I ended up having to take it out and repackage it myself. No gloves were provided as promised. When I did this I found a safety pin in my dress, which - if I hadn't unpackaged and looked it over - would have rusted and stained the dress. Lots of miscommunication. The one positive part of my experience was: when I looked over the dress and found they weren't able to get out the dirt stains along the hem, I asked them to try again and they did try again. Though they still weren't able to get the dirt out.
