Chris and Toast & Jam were incredible! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We choose T&J after attending a few weddings that they DJ'd and loving the music. We were placed with Chris and immediately knew we were in good hands. Chris was kind, communicate, listened to what we asked for, got the vibes of the party and helped us with particular selections. We received many many compliments about how good the music was. I would hire Chris for literally every event if I good. -

We hired DJ Paul Simpson from Toast and Jam to DJ our wedding and we could not be happier with how it went! The planning before the wedding was very easy. We met with Paul initially to talk about what we wanted to do and he gave us access to the planning site where we could list what we did and didn't want him to play. We met with him again a few weeks before the wedding to go over the plan and he executed everything we asked for perfectly!
We didn't use a wedding planner so Paul was instrumental in helping us figure out how the day would go. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the same venue but at different locations around the venue. Paul set us up with music and microphones for the ceremony. When that ended, he quickly moved to the cocktail hour to provide the music. After that, he moved to the reception area to announce us and get the music started. It all happened seamlessly!
We also got a photo booth from Toast and Jam and were very happy with how that worked as well. Overall, this company really took care of us and made our big day run as smooth as we were hoping it would. Do not hesitate to book Toast and Jam and Paul Simpson for your event. You will not be disappointed! -

Chris rocked our worlds!!! DJs can make or break a wedding, so going into planning we were pretty nervous about this decision. Our Coordinator recommended Toast & Jam and boy are we glad she did. From our first meeting with Chris we knew we were in good hands. He was able to effortlessly blend our wildly eclectic music tastes and hyper-specific cultural songs without batting an eye. He also smoothly MC'd the whole night. At least 50 of our guests have told us that he was the best wedding DJ they've ever had, so we know we are not biased!! His ability to read a crowd is unreal. The photobooth was also a huge hit. If you're considering it, DO IT, it was a perfect keepsake for guests. We cannot recommend highly enough Chris and Toast & Jam, our wedding was a certified banger. -

Working with Toast & Jam—and especially DJ Chris—was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The process was easy and straightforward from the start. We shared our music preferences and overall vibe, and Toast & Jam thoughtfully paired us with Chris. After our first meeting, we knew we were in great hands and that our wedding was going to be fun.
Chris was everything we hoped for in a DJ and more. He took the time to really understand what we wanted our day to feel like—from the ceremony and cocktail hour to the reception—and used our music preferences to craft a perfect experience. He listened to what mattered to us and made sure those details were reflected in every part of the day.
His transitions were seamless, his timing was spot on, and he had such a great feel for the crowd and energy in the room. He kept the dance floor full and made the night unforgettable for us and our guests. People are still talking about how fun the party was—and that’s thanks to Chris.
He was professional, communicative, and just incredibly good at his job. We truly couldn’t recommend him enough! -

Norah and the Toast & Jam crew were an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the start, their communication was detailed, and thorough, putting our minds at ease. Their process for selecting music we like/didn't like was straightforward and the resulting playlist was extraordinary - guests continue to bring it up months after the event! Norah was available for us, and patient throughout the entire planning process. Additionally, Norah was incredibly flexible and responsive to our wishes as a same-sex couple. She used her industry expertise to steer us when we needed the guidance and took our feedback to heart to make sure the day was ours. We are so grateful to Norah and her team for making our wedding day perfect. It takes a lot of trust to allow someone to take the music helm for a day like your wedding. We had all the faith that Norah was going to do right by us and make our day exactly as we hoped. Our guests had the most amazing time on the dance floor thanks to Norah. Not to mention that Norah is just an absolute gem of a human. -

Our wedding was 4 months ago, and people are still reaching out and telling me we had the best DJs they’d ever heard at a wedding! Guests genuinely didn’t think they were wedding DJs (in the best way possible lol) We got the perfect blend of our requested songs and crowd favorites. The dance floor was full all night! Cannot recommend them enough! -

We loved our DJ Chris so much! It was really important to us that we had an awesome dancefloor at our wedding and Chris delivered. He totally got the vibe we were going for and what music we like after our first meeting. Working with Chris and planning the music for our ceremony + reception was so easy and we trusted him completely. T&J's sample list was a huge help to us and our DJ Chris. We worked with Toast & Jam for the DJ for our wedding, and they were great! Brenna Dean, our DJ, was phenomenal. She did such a great job incorporating all our favorite songs and hits from different decades that our parents' generation and ours were up dancing most of the night. Would definitely recommend, especially if you can work with Brenna! -

Toast & Jam as a company was SO helpful and responsive to us! Our individual DJ, Chris, absolutely ROCKED it on our wedding night!! He interviewed us to figure out our style and then perfectly used that while also reading the room at our reception!! He was able to go with the flow and played songs that got the dance floor rocking!! Can't recommend enough! We also loved their Photo Booth option- the attendant was so sweet with all of our hyper guests and it was such a fun addition! -

What’s a good wedding without good beats? Norah brought so much joy and energy on our wedding day and it was all communicated with her music selection and brilliant MCing. In the days leading up to the big day, Norah did some keen recon on our music preferences, and managed to craft a memorable DJ set that fit the vibe that we wanted. Better yet, her masterful MCing helped our reception program go smoothly, and she was kind enough to adapt to a busy and dynamic night (thank you for graciously putting up with our family’s antics!) She mixed in our must-plays with some serious skill, and kept everybody vibing all night long. Our special day will be remembered forever because of Norah, and we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ experience -

Toast and Jam… y’all left no crumbs! We had Emily Easton as our DJ and apart from being the coolest person ever- she made our Dancing Queen dreams come true. Toast & Jam was wonderful to work with for our wedding day! Norah and the entire crew was so responsive and happy to help answer any questions we had about our music, lighting and DJ Booth. We knew right away that Toast & Jam would be a great vendor to partner up with for our big day. We were candidly on the fence about lighting and a Photo Booth, and we’re so happy we got them because they added such a fun element to our night. Our PBJ (Photo Booth jockey) was wonderful and so helpful, and our DJ Mary McKane was a joy to work with. We knew she’d be in our corner every step of the way for our wedding ceremony and reception. We met with her a couple times in advance to go over our preferences, and she made sure on the day of our wedding that we were completely happy with our special songs and lineup! She confirmed with us how long we wanted songs to play, how to pronounce names for intros, and was incredibly professional, friendly and easy to work with. She played all our favorite jams and had everyone out on the dance floor all night, and knows exactly how to handle requests. Thank you, Mary!! -

Incredible DJs!
After many of our best friends hired Toast & Jam DJs for their weddings in Chicago, we decided to hire them to travel for our Door County wedding in July 2023. They were INCREDIBLE! Both my husband and I stayed on the dance floor the entire night and we had the best time! Kate and Rachel were an incredible duo and helped make the music perfect for our big day. We couldn't recommend them more highly! -

DJ Rachel was an important reason our special day was extra special
When picking out DJ our venue recommended Toast and Jam and they were within our price range. They paired us with Rachel who was excellent through the entire process. We had an introductory meeting where she definitely matched the vibe we were going for with crowd pleasers for millennials: some oldie's early for the older relatives and progressively get to the 2000's and 2010's main jams.
We met again a couple of months before the wedding so she could iron out the song list for the ceremony/reception for what we needed for things like walking down the aisle, cut cutting, first dance, etc. She loved or at least did good job pretending to love suggestions for the songs we choose and gave some friendly recommendations based on her experience at weddings. Another wrench she had to deal with was we hired a cellist for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. The problem was he was not the best at responding so she made a backup playlist in case he didn't come.
Luckily he did come and Rachel worked with him perfectly for the ceremony to play a little music under his cello. Now during the reception she got the party started and it didn't stop until the venue kicked us out. There were always people on the dance floor the entire time. And not just a few there would be a crowd throughout the entire night. Most weddings I've been to there is some songs people leave the dance floor and it's empty for a bit but not ours. Rachels' music selection was perfect to keep the party going. She even played songs we requested 2 days before the wedding that fit perfectly. I could recommend anyone more. Rachel was awesome! -

Toast & Jam DJs was recommended to us by my sister-in-law who used them for her wedding 8 years ago. When my fiancé and I got engaged we knew we needed Toast & Jam to DJ our wedding. We picked Norah and she was amazing. She was responsive throughout the entire wedding planning process and very easy to work with. From the ceremony music to cocktail hour/dinner and the reception, the music was perfect and totally fit the vibe of the entire day. Everyone recommended we use Toast and Jam for our wedding and wow they did not disappoint. DJ Emily absolutely killed it from ceremony music to late night bangers. We knew we were in good hands from our first consultation with DJ Emily and we knew we wouldn't need to stress about music at all on our special day because it was in the best hands. Norrah was an amazing DJ for our 2023 wedding. Our guests are still talking about how great of a job she did with selecting the music. Our crowd was very into early 2000s music which she caught onto quickly. One of the speeches made a joke about Crazy Train and the next song after the speeches was Crazy Train (so perfectly timed). We had microphones exactly where we needed them so people could here all the cows during the ceremony, every toast, and nothing was missed. Toast and Jam (especially Norrah) are worth every penny! -

DJ Emily Easton was a dream to work with! First off, she has the best taste in music but deferred to us for all musical choices (even our more out there preferences). She had great suggestions and even introduced us to our new favorite band, Ginger Root!. We looked forward to our planning meetings where she asked us insightful questions which got us thinking about parts of the wedding we hadn't even considered. During the wedding Emily was professional, humorous, and great at directing the crowd. She navigated between two rooms (the main dining room and the dance floor) easily and it was clear she had done this before. Emily hit all the "must play" songs we requested while reading the room beautifully. At some point she noticed a younger crowd on the dance floor and switched to early 2000s pop punk which kept the energy going and brought more people to the floor. Us newlyweds spent basically half the wedding on the dance floor because it was so much fun. Choose Emily for your DJ and you won't be disappointed! -

Caitlin was our DJ and we cannot express how amazing she was during the whole event. From planning right down to the day-of set up, Caitlin was graceful, practical, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The positive energy she brought to the dance floor was felt by all attendees and made our night so special. This was a wedding that had a mix of queer and Arab guests, which can be challenging for most DJs, but Caitlin absolutely nailed it (to the extent that our guests were asking us if she is Lebanese!). We couldn’t have asked for a better ally in our quest for top-notch, non-cheesy wedding music than DJ Chris G. He listened patiently to our many, many strong opinions and created a fantastic soundtrack that set the perfect mood. DJ Rachel was incredible and made the night so special! Planning for the wedding was so much fun -- she understood our eclectic taste, and our obscure requests. We received SO MANY compliments on the music, not just from our friends, but my mom's friends. Rachel played something for everyone and chose songs that got all the guests on the dance floor. She read the crowd and made some amazing choices in the moment. My favorite memories of the wedding are because of Rachel -- father-daughter dance to Danke Schoen and then cutting into Twist n Shout for the ultimate dad joke/Ferris Bueller reference, and watching my new husband and his siblings dance to the romantic wedding classic, Debaser by Pixies.
Toast and Jam understands their clients and can also feel the room and make amazing choices on the spot. Seriously, hire them. -

And just go with Toast&Jam.
Even though I'm sure T&J don't totally want me to tell my story...because they don't prefer that their clients call them 8 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING but ok that's what happened. My partner and I decided 8 days before the wedding, that, well, we were going to get married. It was a push from my father who was dying. We arranged for a FAST wedding, and while my father wasn't able to make it to the wedding (he passed days before) the wedding was truly a profound, raw, emotional and beautiful experience. And Mary from T&J rolled with every single punch we threw her way. My partner was in Puerto Rico, and I was dealing with the death of my father. I know this is a lot for a Google Review, but honestly it just shows the empathy of Mary and the whole crew at T&J. They pulled together a photo booth for us, worked with our pretty wild and spastic playlist and created the most memorable night in a blizzard for my hubs and I, and 75 of our closest friends and family. Guys, this is all so fast, I don't even have official photos yet. But I'll get those up once I get 'em back. To the T&J crew, from the absolute bottom of my heart - thank you for bringing your A-game when I needed it. -

I freaking love Toast and Jam. We were paired up with DJ Rachel and she freaking killed it. We had her handle music for everything- ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and she was incredible. A great selection of music that was really tailored to us. She got to know us as a couple and our music tastes and was able to set the tone of our whole day. She was also just so happy to be there! I loved glancing over at her throughout the night to see her singing and dancing along. She was just full of joy!
A couple other reasons T&J is great.
1. They were really flexible with us through two COVID postponements.
2. They work really well as a team with you, your wedding planner, and other vendors. They made it as painless as possible.
3. JOY. It's more than just a job for them. They genuinely love providing the soundtrack to your day. Highly recommend. -

Music was the one non-negotiable, "needed to be perfect," part of our wedding. Everything else we could be flexible on, but not that. After hearing so many amazing things about Toast and Jam from friends and colleagues that had used their services in the past, I put my trust in their word, and signed right up. And man, it's an amazing feeling when things surpass expectations. Our first T&J DJ left the company unexpectedly, but then the wonderfully incredible Mary Nisi stepped in and she rocked our faces off. We connected instantly to her and she understood exactly what we wanted. She was very thorough with her questions, and gave us some incredible ideas and suggestions. Nothing we threw her way phased her and she nailed it all day of. Had our venue not been ridiculous about extending time, we would have kept Mary for even longer. The dance floor was never empty, and she was a killer MC. You will not be disappointed with Toast and Jam. Knowing they have backups in case your DJ cant make it was extremely comforting, and all of them I'm SURE are fabulous if Mary is any indication. Now I just need another excuse to hire them again! -

Besides the obligatory "congrats" the most widespread comment we got from our wedding guests was about the music. The dance floor was hopping all night. There were the classics, very specific to us as a couple music, there was scream singing songs from college. Norah absolutely killed it. I was a bit apprehensive going into the wedding because both my husband and I have musical tastes that trend more to cocktail hour and dinner party. I only had a few requests for songs for dancing. But during the wedding, everything felt very much like us, but a much more fun and cool version of us. Thank you for crafting a night I will never forget. -

Fallon McDermott (and Toast & Jam) are a huge part of what made our wedding the happiest, most fun day of our lives. Being able to meet with Fallon before we booked gave us confidence in the service we were booking and helped us stay confident our wedding day would be a blast. Fallon was such a joy and so easy to work with throughout the month leading up to the wedding and helped make sure we had the perfect music for every moment of the night. To quote some of our guests, “the vibes were immaculate” the entire night. Fallon knew how to keep people on the dance floor (and how to get them out there) and we appreciated her ability to adjust the music to who was on the floor and keep the dance floor rocking for a solid 3+ hours!! If you're looking to have a full dance floor the entire night, Toast & Jam is for you. Where do I even start with this review? DJ Mary was everything we could have possibly wanted in a DJ. She brought the best energy to our reception and had a full understanding of the vibe we were looking for. Toast & Jam really knows how to read a room and pick up on what's keeping people dancing - despite your crowd's age. We had multiple generations at our reception, but despite the age gap almost every guest was on the dance floor. Toast & Jam isn't your cookie cutter DJ experience. They really take the time to get to know you and what your music vibe is. DJ Mary took our... interesting... requests (we demanded our cocktail hour be 'songs you'd hear at home depot or the dentist office') and completely jumped on board. She embraced our quirks and helped make our wedding uniquely our own. I've been to A LOT of weddings, and although I'm slightly biased, I can say that my dance floor was one of the best. Stop looking now and hire Toast & Jam. You WILL NOT regret it. -

We had the best experience with DJ Mary MC at our wedding this September! She was incredibly professional in that she was someone i trusted on the mic, worked with us beforehand to understand our music tastes, and was always responsive to communication. When my wife and I were looking for a DJ for our wedding, we had asked a number of our friends who they had used for their weddings - the response kept coming in the same, Toast & Jam. They were great to interact with and we ended up getting paired with Rachel, who was absolutely incredible. We're still getting comments over a week later at how great the music and vibe was for our wedding.
Rachel was wonderful to collaborate with leading up to the day, as we did a number of zoom calls to align on details. She was flexible in working with us on our more special songs (Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, etc.) setting the right mix of songs for everyone, and really read the energy of our guests so well. We highly recommend Rachel, and appreciate Toast & Jam for setting it all up. -

My husband & I had an amazing experience working with Toast & Jam. We were paired with Tabitha to be our wedding DJ, and we LOVED working with her. Tabitha met with us several times before the wedding via zoom (which I appreciated because it made it easy to fit into the busy pre-wedding schedule!) and was very communicative about how the process would move forward.
Tabitha honored the songs we wanted to include and was a huge help in filling in the gaps so that all our guests would resonate with the music, especially during dancing! She sent us versions of our first dance songs mastered in advance so we could practice, and when we had a last-minute change she was gracious and made it happen for us!
During the wedding, Tabitha made sure everyone stayed on schedule for speeches & the music during each part of the night was perfect. The playlist included all the songs we requested in advance + a few that perfectly matched the atmosphere we wanted to create. It felt so personal many of our guests complemented the dinner & dancing selections! We highly recommend Tabitha and were overjoyed by the experience of working with her!
Leading up to the wedding, my husband and I decided that we wanted to include a photo booth, and worked with Toast & Jam for that as well. Another great experience! We emailed back & forth with Mary and she helped us customize the package & print-out style that we wanted. The person who ran the booth was amazing! He made our guests feel excited about posing and definitely made the experience more fun.
We got a link to the images a few days after and loved seeing all the gifs & pictures! It was a fun, casual complement to the more traditional photography, and allowed us to peek into silly moments that my husband & I otherwise would have missed! -

Everyone at my wedding raved about the DJ, and they didn’t even know the half of it. From the time we first sat down to talk about the overall vision for the day, I was so impressed. Jenna is part music expert, part wedding planner, part energy reader. I immediately knew I was in good hands, and that she had a feel for what was important to us. Our meetings were always productive and she brought up all these points I had never even thought about, like dinner details that would affect the pacing of the reception. It made me appreciate the art (and the work!) that goes into it all.
The night of the wedding, she had such a pulse on the energy of the crowd and adjusted the music without missing the beat. Everything she played felt like us, but also appealed to the group at large. She made my wedding what it was, which was the best day ever.

We hired Dustin to DJ our wedding reception and highly recommend you do the same. Dustin brought such great energy to our reception and set the mood throughout the night by gradually transitioning from cocktail hour music, dining music, classic dance floor hits, and finishing with our favorite party songs. He listened to all of our requests for the do's and don'ts playlist and added a few spins on to our playlist based on the vibe of our reception. He kept our dance floor packed and we still have friends and family who rave on about how amazing the music was at our wedding. -

Dustin was our DJ from toast and Jam. He was awesome to work with! My partner and I hadn’t been to too many weddings previously, so Dustin was very helpful in guiding us for the preparation. During the wedding he did a wonderful job transitioning from each part to the next and was also very fun to be around. The music was fantastic and we danced the whole night away. We hired Toast & Jam for our wedding on the recommendation of a friend and couldn’t be happier with our decision. We worked with Norah, but talking with her and the friend who provided the original recommendation led us to believe that any of the other DJs would have done a great job too.
Norah was very easy to get to know and quick to get our musical taste, so we felt very comfortable relying on her judgment outside of our specific requests. Lots of wedding guests ended up complimenting us on our choice of DJ, from people of all ages who danced all evening to others who spent the whole wedding in conversation, so we felt like Norah really pitched things just right for everyone.
Norah was also a big help in planning ahead of the wedding reception and very resourceful figuring out ways around last-minute logistical challenges. She helped us come up with creative ways have the celebration that we wanted, rather than a totally off-the-shelf party, and she had some great suggestions for other wedding vendors (e.g., photographers). Plus, she was a really fun, pleasant person to spend time with! We felt like we got very lucky and we’re happily recommending Toast & Jam to our friends. -

From the start, we knew we would love Toast and Jam. After our first conversation with Dustin, we felt he understood our preferences and knew the type of reception we were looking for. When I tested positive for COVID 2 days before the wedding, all our vendors rose to the challenge - including Toast and Jam. Without the guidance of Dustin and the team, we would not have had as successful and memorable of a wedding. They instructed us on what equipment would be needed to make our hybrid wedding a reality. On top of that, Dustin kept the energy upbeat all evening. My husband and I had an amazing time dancing along in our living room with our guests. Our D.J. Alli Klein was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we had our first email exchange and intro phone call, we just clicked. She took the time to get to know us, learn about us as a couple, and understand our music taste and vision for a fun dance party! Toast & Jam made it easy to think through songs, timing of everything, and how to make sure we maximized our dance floor time. She seamlessly facilitated the entrances, speeches, and dances and got the party started! The dance floor never had a lull and I had so many compliments on how great the DJs was and how much fun people had on the dance floor. Beyond thrilled with Toast & Jam and our DJ, Kate. My husband and I have somewhat eclectic taste so I was anxious about balancing music we love with music our guests (multi-generational and multi-cultural) would dance to. Kate did a great job pulling this off! I really felt like she understood what we wanted and executed it perfectly. We received tons of compliments from our guests.
Overall, it was a joy to work with T&J. Even our venue was gushing about how excited they were to work with them. Everyone we interacted with was kind and professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be working with us. Wholeheartedly would recommend. :) -

Outstanding vibe creation!
We cannot recommend Toast & Jam and DJ Norah enough! From the initial meeting, feeling totally at ease and in sync, to two postponements later (thanks, covid), DJ Norah was fun, empathetic, and just totally excellent to work with. Toast & Jam covered both our ceremony and reception, encompassing a huge range of musical tastes between two partners -- including requests for non-English language songs that were not on their setlist. We booked Toast and Jam after hearing positive reviews from many Chicago area friends and it was a great choice. Our DJ Karissa was easy to work with but more importantly was an amazing emcee and DJ and our most complimented vendor by our guests. From our first consultation with Toast and Jam, we knew they “got us”. We had a certain vibe we wanted for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and they *nailed it*!! The secret sauce is definitely the people- Kate and Rachel asked a ton of questions and gave us a super fun song list to run through for inspiration. Chatting with them and jamming out to potential wedding bops was a fun and helpful part of the planning process.The stellar music played a major role in the wedding day being flawless. We cannot sing their praises loudly enough! Numerous folks commented to me that the dance music was on point. My Matron of Honor (who is a tough critic typically) was even on record of saying: “We have a problem…the music is TOO GOOD!” If their comments aren’t enough, the proof is in the pudding- everyone hit the dance floor at some point, regardless of age. Kate and Rachel knew precisely when to play the tried and true classics and when to bust out the jams that we aging Millenials would love. There was a solid group that held it down for the final hour for every single song. Thanks for the memories, Toast and Jam!!!
