I highly recommend!
My daughter and her husband wanted to have a wedding in Nature, and also to have the site take care of most of the details. Timberline was the answer! The Jubilation Package met our needs for the wedding of under 25 people, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Tammy, the manager, was very responsive, flexible, friendly but always professional. It was a beautiful day to have the wedding outside and the reception inside, with large windows to see the mountains and the sunset. During these stressful times, we managed to have a wedding that met and even exceeded my daughter's expectations. -

THE Perfect Wedding Venue!!!!!
When I got engaged, my fiancé (now husband) said there was only one venue in the world for us, and that was Timberline Lodge. Years ago, we somehow ended up on a venue tour with Chelsea and had so much fun that he couldn’t get that place out of his mind for more than half a decade. Last year, when we started planning, we started working with Tammy at Timberline Lodge to coordinate our dream wedding. Our wedding in May 2025 was AWESOME! Everything went so smoothly and all our guests commented on how unique, historic, and scenic the venue was. All and any interactions with staff at the lodge were always fantastic. Tammy in particular went above and beyond, even soaking lotus seeds overnight for me for a cultural tradition I incorporated on my wedding day. All food was well-labeled for anyone with allergies at my wedding. Timberline Lodge did a great job accommodating any cultural traditions I included as part of my Chinese Canadian wedding (door games, tea ceremony, lion dancers). I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning to celebrate anniversaries there in the future! -

Fantastic wedding experience!
My wife and I had our wedding at Timberline Lodge and it was fantastic. The venue was gorgeous! The room we stayed in was very comfortable and had a beautiful cozy fireplace. We even got a little dessert delivered to our room every night! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and they were always willing to answer any of our questions while we were planning the event. They were also very open to accomodations and special requestions, such as dietary restrictions or specific religious/cultural ceremonies. We would definitely recommend Timberline and are looking forward to returning there in the future! -

Picture Perfect
My wife, Keshia and I discovered Timberline Lodge during one of our excursions in 2018 and it was a highlight of our trip. When we decided to get married in 2020, Timberline Lodge was one of the first thoughts that came to our mind when choosing the perfect venue. We had a small wedding (approximately 25 people) with our closest friends and family. Everything was perfect. The staff (huge shoutout to Chelsea, Tammy and Chandra) were so helpful/unbelievable and went above and beyond assisting us and making sure our day was incredible. We are from Nashville, Tennessee, so everything had to be done through email and telephone. Plus, the added “wrinkle” of the Covid-19 situation. None of that mattered. Timberline handled everything flawlessly and made our lives easy. They answered every question and made wedding planning simple and fun. The food, venue, atmosphere, accommodations, staff and attention to detail were all incredible and exceeded every expectation and hope we had. We are so grateful for Timberline Lodge allowing us to have our wedding there and would recommend the entire experience to anyone! -

Perfection!
Timberline was an absolute dream of a wedding venue! We got married in January with Timberline's Jubilation Package and it was so easy and wonderful. We were in the Raven's Nest for the rehearsal, ceremony and reception (we had a small wedding - around 40 people), and it was the most beautiful winter venue we could have imagined.
It was so easy working and planning the wedding with Timberline, and they really went above and beyond helping us make the day perfect. They helped us build an all-vegetarian menu, set up our own music, store our flowers overnight, and so much more. We especially loved that Timberline offers an all-inclusive package. It was so nice to not have to worry about organizing multiple vendors, and they offer exceptional service so it doesn't feel like compromising at all. The food and drinks for the reception were top notch!
I would recommend Timberline to absolutely everyone! The ease of planning, beauty of the venue, and incredible accommodations made our wedding so unforgettable. -

Destination Wedding Made Easy!
We got married in March 2018 and still cannot believe how beautifully perfect our wedding was at Timberline! We live in Wisconsin and had to put a lot of trust and faith in the wedding staff at Timberline to ensure every last detail of our destination wedding was accounted for. Truly, the day could not have gone any better! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and set-up just as expected in front of the fireplace. Food and beverages were impressive and delicious. The staff helped with table decor for dinner and I had nothing to worry about at all on the day of the wedding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a mountain wedding!-

Destination Wedding Dream Come True
Planning a wedding from 3000 miles away from Florida, one would think it would be a major nightmare and a ton of stress but thanks to Chandra, Tammy, and Chelsea it was an absolute breeze. It was so smooth and seamless that on the actual wedding day, my husband and I kept thinking we had forgotten to do something but we had not. The list of vendors that were provided to us through Chandra and crew were all fabulous. The venue was beautiful. We got married in the snow on the Mt Hood Room patio with 28 of our nearest and dearest. The food was delicious, the drinks were tasty, and the dance floor and set up of the room we’re perfect for our group of 30. If we could do it all again, we wouldn’t change a thing. I highly recommend having any event at timberline Lodge. Thank you, Ladies for making our special day one that we will forever loom back on and smile. -

Dream Location
Timberline was such an easy choice for us! From the rustic beauty of the lodge, to the breath taking views, Timberline is truly a memorable location. Chelsea, our wedding coordinator, was fabulous. She was professional, flexible, creative, and thorough. The food and service during the reception was top-notch too. Our guests continue to rave about Timberline. -

Perfect venue for a Wedding in June
We had an amazing experience with Timberline Lodge. We worked with the event coordinator to book and block rooms for our wedding. The planner was great to work with; very responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The venue itself is breathtaking. Even if you and up having an indoor wedding due to the unpredictable weather at the mountain, the rooms are beautiful. Food was amazing, especially the wedding cake. -

Magical Mt. Hood Wedding
Everything was perfect, and everyone, down to the servers in the restaurants made our wedding weekend spectacular. They were willing to help me make a couple of slight changes right up to the moment we got married, and I couldn't have been happier. Many of my guests remarked that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. It was easy because they did essentially everything for us - catering, decorating, table arranging, etc. We basically just had to show up. I also organized a day of skiing the next day for our guests, and working with the lodge was easy as well. Timberline has always been our home away from home in the winter, and now they're like a part of our family. Highly recommend. -

Wonderful, couldn’t have asked for more
We had a beautiful brunch wedding almost a year ago and were planning from Ohio. Everything went smoothly and our requests were accommodated without issue. We were married and had our reception in The Ravens Nest and would recommend that to anyone. The views are gorgeous and it was perfect for an intimate wedding. The food was also so good, people raves about it (especially the bacon?!). -

Elopement wedding
We had a very small spur of the moment wedding, with just about 30 family members in front of the grand fireplace. It was amazing! Everyone still can not stop talking about how beautiful everything was. Definitely unforgettable. We did not have any sort of meal service or reception, but everyone was very well taken care of with beverages for the ceremony. I wasn’t even expecting that so it was a nice extra touch. The gal that helped us was so accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for us. Could not be happier!!-

Don't even think twice about choosing another venue. If you want your friends and family to be "wow'ed" go with Silcox hut. I cannot thank the crew and especially Chelsea for the amazing job they did. Having no wedding planner and hardly any free time to plan a wedding, it went incredibly smooth and I was stress free the entire time. The food was amazing. The ambiance was amazing. Friends complemented us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and I owe it all to timberline. We cannot thank you enough, and I cannot wait to spend another magical night up at Silcox Hut soon.-

I can't begin to tell you how perfect our wedding went. From the physical beauty of the lodge and mountain, to the incredible food and service - it was magical.
Chandra, the Timberline coordinator is the as good as they come. She is friendly, knowledgeable, creative and does everything she can to make the day special. He ability to help me create my vision and work through a crazy amount of emails and ideas was fantastic. I can't thank her enough for her part in our wedding.
The lodge itself is historical and beautiful. We used three of their facilities, Silcox Hut for our rehearsal dinner, Raven's Nest for our ceremony and Ullman Hall for the reception. The rooms are beautiful, clean and have the most incredible views. We worked hard to ensure that we had light on the mountain for our ceremony and we got the most beautiful alpine glow at 5pm and sunset at 5:30pm - perfect times for sunset in February.
I have zero complaints. Our entire experience was amazing. Thank you Timberline! -

Had such a wonderful experience getting married at Timberline Lodge. It was a truly magical day in one of the most beautiful places. We planned our wedding from across the country and the staff at Timberline was so wonderful with which to work. They were able to accommodate our requests and worked to make a truly flawless and amazing wedding. We got married outside on the patio behind the lobby with beautiful Mt Hood in the background. Our reception was in the Ullman Room. The room had spectacular views of Mt Hood and down the mountain and across the valley to Mt. Jefferson. We had our cocktail hour on the patio in front of the Ullman Room. The food was fantastic. The service was amazing and everyone we worked with were just wonderful. It was really fun having many of the guests staying at the Lodge. We would sit by the fire and chat in the morning or make s'mores outside on the patio in the evening. We also went on a hike with some of our guests the day after the wedding. The Lodge is such a unique, beautiful building and the setting is just gorgeous. Some of our guests also stayed down in the condos in Government Camp and felt they were very nice and a great value for families or couples staying together. Everyone who attended the wedding raved about the venue and the experience. I can't say enough about what a wonderful and spectacular wedding we had! -

This review is for our August wedding at Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge. We didn’t have a great experience at the actual lodge - probably bad luck and bad timing (it was very busy), but we directly addressed that with them, so I won’t spend much time on the negatives. I agree with previous reviews that the staff seems overwhelmed, which occasionally made planning, logistics, and budgeting preceding the wedding day an arduous experience. I also agree with previous reviews that costs tend to mount quickly and somewhat surprisingly (if you want a fridge in your room, be prepared to pay extra, or you could have an $18/pp mimosa in your room while you’re getting ready. It’s a business, yes, but it didn’t feel like we got much in return for the high price of the room – no acknowledgement on the wedding night, etc., which was slightly disappointing).
Okay, onto the good! Silcox Hut was an absolutely amazing place to get married. There were no reviews for summer weddings up there, so I had no idea what to expect. The answer: a perfect wedding, awed guests, fantastic views, and a gorgeous sunset. It did get a little toasty in the hut, as they have the fire lit for ambiance, but no one seemed to mind beyond a passing observation. Each and every member of the staff were wonderful – accommodating, helpful, and friendly (Steve Buchan, the Silcox coordinator, in particular – loads of compliments from our friends and family about how great he was). The food by far exceeded our expectations. It was truly first class, and there was plenty of it. The day really does run like clockwork at Silcox. They’ve got it down to a science and they know what they’re doing. Steve assured us that we were in good hands, and he was correct. If you’re having a small wedding or elopement, we would highly recommend booking Silcox Hut as your venue. Occasional planning mishaps prior to the main event aside, the wedding day itself was truly magical. -

The staff at Timberline Lodge made our wedding day perfect. The staff was so easy to work with before the wedding and we were working with them from out of state. Their staff had everything set up just the way we had asked and moved through our schedule flawlessly. We came from out of town and they were so helpful letting us store things in an office over night so we could keep our room clear. Our guests raved about the food and how well the wedding went, they were overly impressed by the venue and staff. The beauty of the venue was topped off by how helpful everyone was, I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married at such a beautiful location. -

Our daughters' wedding at Timberline was an incredible experience. The rehearsal dinner was up at Silcox Hut on Friday night with about 40 people taken up by snowcat. The bride and her bridesmaids stayed at Silcox that night. The next day we all went back up to Silcox for the ceremony. Later that afternoon we had a pre-dinner cocktail party in the main lobby at Timberline Lodge and a dinner reception in Ullman Hall (with s'mores on the patio). I can't express how beautiful the venues were, the staff were so kind and helpful and the food, oh my, the food at every event was just exceptional. We selected a wedding package that included the cocktail hour, a plated dinner, champagne toasts, cake, linens, candles, etc., and I would select this package again. Staff was available to help set-up and take down. Gifts were moved to a secure area during the reception. Wait staff, bartenders, etc. were all so friendly, engaging with our guests. Everything was done timely; food was hot. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather -- sunny, clear sky, tons of stars, almost full moon, NO WIND -- people were outside for all the events, even past midnight around the patio fire pits. Working with the sales/catering office was a bit frustrating at times -- they host a lot of events so don't seem to have time to get into the details of your particular event until about two weeks out. Several times I got different answers to questions by talking with different people. Be prepared for quite a few additional charges -- if it's not included in your package, you pay extra. But none of that takes away from what was a fantastic event and I would do it again exactly the same way! -

We had our wedding on 1/25/14 at Timberline Lodge, and I can't say enough great things about our experience. My husband and I LOVED the venue from even before we got engaged -- and both of us, as well as our families, were thrilled with the spaces available to us for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. What's more, the Timberline staff went above and beyond our considerably high expectations to make sure the day went off flawlessly. On top of the excellent service, the food was fantastic! -

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous - every single detail and aspect was anticipated and taken care of. Chandra was an absolute doll to work with and all of her support of those at the Timberline Lodge. This was not just our venue, we stayed at the Timberline for a week. We had snow the day of our ceremony which was EXACTLY what we wanted coming all the way from Florida! Not sure how Chandra pulled that one off! The flowers were gorgeous and the florist graciously blended my peacock feathers with the bouquet - I had add-ons for the cake with the baker also graciously blended in to the design making my elopement ceremony special beyond any possible expectation. My new husband and I could not have expected any single thing to be better than what we received and encountered - it was an event, a visit and a memory that is forever at the top of my "BEST" list. Thank you Chandra and the rest of the Timberline team members! -

Timberline lodge is wonderful. A gorgeous location, they went all out to fulfill our every wish even snow shoveling the pathways the day before and of the wedding. My one caution is that there were a few misunderstanding's the weekend of the wedding and as we didn't have a wedding coordinator we had to deal with them ourselves which wasn't a problem for us but you might want to think about hiring a wedding coordinator if you plan to have your wedding here. Overall though we couldn't have picked a more perfect place, Chandra the event coordinator was fantastic, the ceremony site and reception sites were amazing, and they worked with us to help plan a day that was magical. The food was over the top, every bite was delicious!!! -

The venue speaks for itself, the lodge is historic and surroundings gorgeous. We worked with Chandra, she was always quick to respond, friendly, and organized. We found it very easy to plan with their team. They did a great job with both setup and cleanup. F&B was great, nothing ran out, and all the guests were happy. The whole event was perfect. -

We are so glad we had our wedding at Timberline! What an incredibly magical place... such a historic building and beautiful setting. We had our ceremony in the Barlow room, cocktails around the big fireplace (near the Cascade Dining Room) and our reception in the Raven's nest. Chandra was great to work with, and everything went off so smoothly. The staff was fantastic, blending into the background when needed, and gently guiding our guests around the gorgeous lodge when it was time to move rooms. We were on a tight budget, and were shocked to find that Timberline was one of the most affordable places out there! The key is that they take care of almost everything for you, so there is no messing with table linen or silverware rentals! The food was wonderful and plentiful. We even brought our own iPod to use with their sound system, in lieu of a DJ, and that was one of the best decisions we made. Everything worked perfectly, and our guests were dancing all night! As someone else mentioned, the overnight lodging rooms are pricey and not terribly fancy. If I was to do it again, I might stay in nearby Government Camp. The only other downside is that we had 2 hours to decorate before the ceremony, but that was no problem, as I just recruited some nice friends and family to help decorate! I would recommend Timberline without hesitation! -

We got married at Silcox Hut at Timberline and it was absolutely amazing and a beautiful winter, snowy wedding. The staff is extremely helpful and willing to work with you. The food was so good, a lot of our guests told us it was the best food they've had at a wedding. There is a lot of variety to chose from for the food also. The cost per person included the food, cake, and open bar and everything is very upscale and nice. They definitely don't cut corners. Our photos are breathtaking from both the main lodge and up at the hut, you won't be disappointed if you get married here. -

Timberline Lodge did an excellent job. Our ceremony took place on the back patio, with a backdrop of Mt Hood and sunny blue skies. The reception was upstairs in the Raven's Nest with a view of Mt Hood out one picture window, and the Cascades out the opposite window. All the guests then rode a Snowcat (in July!) to our after-party at Silcox Hut, the private mini-lodge a mile farther up the mountain.
Chandra, our coordinator was extremely organized and thorough, and the chef gave us personal attention when we were choosing our menu. Everything went perfectly smoothly on the wedding day. Even though the ceremony was in a public area of the lodge, they stationed multiple staff around the area to keep onlookers out of the ceremony area and out of the field of view of guests. We're foodies, so were nervous about being locked into having Timberline cater. But the food ended up being very good, and we were happy with it. Jim, the main staff member associated with the Silcox Hut was friendly, accommodating and provided superb service.
The site fee was far less than any of the upscale venues in Portland. They do charge a lot per head (for catering), but for a small wedding (50 people) like ours it was still equal to or less than most other places--with an absolutely spectacular setting that can't be beat.
The only drawback to this venue is that hotel rooms are expensive (>$200/night). And we also had to pay for a room for the night prior to the wedding (even though we didn't spend the night), just so that the room would be available for us to get ready in before the wedding. The only alternative would have been to use a public bathroom to get ready.
Overall, fantastic and a perfect place for a storybook wedding. -

Absolutely dreamy location to have your wedding. Chandra in catering was so organized and she made sure everything went off without a hitch, by keeping me organized along the way. Everyone had an absolutely wonderful time, but maybe not as much as the bride and groom. We cherished having the opportunity to share our vows with our loved ones in such a beloved and historic place.-

We booked the Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge sight unseen. My fiance spent time on Mt. Hood skiing the mountain as well as summit-ing Mt. Hood as a young adult, but had never had the opportunity to go inside. Being an East-coaster and him a Pacific Northwester it was difficult choosing a venue to satisfy our opposite sides of the United States family, but in the end our love for nature and the realization that we were getting married for 'us' not for anyone else we chose Timberline Lodge's Silcox Hut.
We flew out and met with the catering staff and events coordinator after putting our deposit down and were in awe of the Timberline's buildings, impressive views of Portland and surrounding areas and the hospitality we were shown by its staff.
Kristen was very accommodating to our schedule, inquires about our event, replied timely to emails and phone calls (remember I am on the east coast), and her over all demeanor is friendly. The value star got knocked off a half a star because I do feel that they inflate their prices, but this is understandable since they are a for profit business and need to make ends meet, I just wish they would come down a little on somethings.
I am looking forward to our wedding at Silcox Hut next year. Its going to be a wonderful event! -

The Perfect Wedding Venue
We got married at Silcox Hut during the winter. All of our guests raved about the location, food, and cake! The staff at the hut were super accommodating and helped make the day run perfectly (I cannot emphasize how great the staff at the hut were). There were a couple of communication delays during the planning phase but everything was figured out before the day and Timberline helped accommodate our vision. I highly recommend Timberline if you want a unique small wedding! -

Silcox Hut is a fantastic small wedding venue
I had my wedding at Silcox Hut. We wanted an intimate and unique wedding and weren't interested in organizing details. Instead we wanted to spend the day skiing and with our friends and family, which is exactly what we did. I would highly recommend the Timberline staff and Silcox venue. Tammy and Leanne were total pros. The only difficult organization required was making a snow cat shuttle schedule. The menu, napkin colors, even the cake was a total breeze! (They picked it up from PDX). The only thing critique I can thing of is that some of the pricing for appetizers or extra alcohol makes sense for big groups down at the lodge, but is more confusing for a small group of 34 (what's too much, what's not enough? Oh the perils of trying to be a good host). Regardless, the per head cost was quite reasonable (and a good value with cake, food and wine included) and we were extremely happy at the high quality experience and our wedding was on budget. -

Hands down the most beautiful place to have a wedding!!! It was a little hard to get answers for them and the management was very rude to my photographer and videographer. That was very upsetting. Other then that amazing food and lodge was soo pretty!!!! Best winter wonderland wedding I could ask for! -

Timberline Lodge is magical! This place is spectacular - great ambiance, great food, great staff! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Timberline. We had 130 guests and so we almost occupied the whole hotel for the weekend. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Silcox, our wedding ceremony in the Raven's nest and the reception was in the Ullman Room. Everything went off without a hitch! -

Chandra at Timberline was awesome! She responded very quickly via email. She was very helpful. She had great suggestions when we had questions/issues. The venue was amazing! We got married in the amphitheater. Gorgeous setting! Saved on decorations because of how gorgeous the venue/mountain was. Had dinner in Ullman hall and then dancing in the Raven's nest. Went to the Blue Ox afterwards for an after party. Bartenders were great in the Blue Ox! It was so nice to have everything in one spot to avoid traveling. They moved all the gifts to room for us. Nice touches in our room when we finally got back that night. Would totally do this all over again! Loved it here! -

Kristin & Shane
We we’re married August 4th, 2019. The backdrop and ambiance was absolutely beautiful! We chose Timberline because of the Packages they offered. Any couple who wants a little less stress for the big day, this is perfect. They offered the food, wine/beer, tables/plates/chairs/table clothes, multiple ceremony options, cake, bride/bridesmaids bouquets, centerpieces etc. Its all there! The staff was very accommodating and flexible. It was extraordinarily hot that day and the staff made sure they rolled in a air conditioner so we could apply our makeup and our hair without melting. The only issue I had was the time limit. You could purchase extra hours, but the package came with 4 hours. That included the ceremony, wine hour/hors d'oeuvre and reception. That’s not a lot of time..... I regret not purchasing more time because it caused dinner hour/speeches and cake to be rushed - we barley had time for cake. But overall, it was just amazing! Tammy and her girls did so great. I upgraded my flower bouquets and flower centerpieces and I cannot tell you how happy I was walking into my reception!
We hired our own photographer.-

Silcox Hut Wedding
Magical venue and so nice that everything is included. We had a sunny weather window so had the wedding outside on the mountain, but the clouds and wind rolled in for the evening, so we got really lucky!! Worked with Chelsea as my Timberline contact and she was great to work with - responsive, friendly and answered my myriad of questions. Only gripe was the venue crew lead was - shall we say "salty" - although I understand that he has been there forever so it's part of your venue experience and perhaps part of the appeal. In any case, I would hands down recommend this venue to anyone looking for a smaller wedding. -

Well done!!
Would recommend Timberline to anyone. The all round experience was great. It's picturesque for bridal parties, and guests. The coziness lends to a relaxed atmosphere.
As far as a critique, the tiered pricing / multiple options for the alcohol felt convoluted.

Wonderful Staff and Hotel
Our wedding was gorgeous and the ladies at Timberline Lodge were amazing. The staff and lodging was awesome and very doting to our wedding party. My one wish was that we actually had our wedding at the Lodge instead of Silcox Hut. Having the wedding at Silcox Hut was amazing and our pictures are amazing however we did not have as much time with our guests or flexibility. I would love to work with Chelsea and her staff again.

Silcox Hut was great, some issues with the hotel
We were married at Silcox Hut and everything about it was perfect: the staff was phenomenal, the food exceeded all expectations (we chose The Alpine dinner), the atmosphere is truly one of a kind. Everyone loved taking the snowcat up to the Hut and it was an incredible experience.
Wedding planning was also smooth.
The issue was that our gorgeous, well-appointed bridal suite with incredible views was incredibly hot our entire stay, from the night before the wedding to the morning we checked out. It was unseasonably warm, in the 70s in early May, but they were unable to turn off the heater in our room. We had our wedding flowers in our suite and my bouquets wilted badly overnight because it peaked at 90 degrees in the suite (I had a thermometer in my purse because I’m nerdy like that). We called down several times and were told that the heat is controlled centrally so there was nothing they could do. The next day my mom and SIL spoke to several people about the heater because we were all really hot while getting ready in the bridal suite - our photographers even tried to get us moved to a different room to continue HMU and getting ready photos, to no avail. We managed to salvage the flowers but could not do any closeups of my gorgeous bouquet because so much of had to be removed because the wilting from the heat. Our wedding night was also sweltering and when we checked out, the front desk was totally disinterested, as was the catering team, who said we should have requested a portable AC. Gee, that would have been good to know 48 hours prior. Subsequent communication with the hotel has been completely ignored.
In short: wedding was perfect but the actual hotel stay was rough. -

Chelsea Jarvis, Sales and catering manager
The team worked well in working to meet our budget and timeline. The team was highly responsive to email correspondence. We loved the enthusiasm and joy shared! And BIG SHOUT OUT to Phil our snowcat captain... he really made the day run smoothly!
The only thing that I would recommend is that the person head lead on the event be present on the day, or provide a thorough overview of event details for the day! -

Timberline was great with working with us for a December wedding. They are very understandable and are very accommodating.
They were very willing to talk and answer any questions throughout the planning process.
It was always worth driving up to Timberline to make major decisions and finalize details, they were much more helpful and willing to work with you than trying to communicate over email.
They staff, the day of the wedding, was incredible, they were kind and always made sure we had what we needed. -

Silcox Hut at Timberline: Unique venue but has it's limitations
This is an awesome venue but please know if you choose it there are size and logistic limitations that will influence many decisions you make about your wedding. If you accept this going into it, you'll find it much more enjoyable. 1) Your guest list - This is the perfect venue if you want an intimate wedding. Timberline suggests a max of 40 + couple, however, we had 36 and felt packed in there like sardines during dinner. If you have more than 30 guests they seat you in a horseshoe shape which made it very difficult for people to get up and access the bar and the staff doesn't provide table service. 30 is ideal because they arrange the tables differently and there are more room maneuver and dance. 2) Your dress - The aisle in Silcot Hut is extremely narrow. Do yourself a favor and do not wear a poofy dress. Choose something that's floor-length or shorter that will make it possible for you to move. 3) Your drinks - Silcox Hut is wine and beer only, no liquor but they will provide pre-mixed cocktails for an additional fee. My husband and I don't like beer or wine so the only alcohol we drank was champagne. However, our guest seems to be happy with the selection 4) Your decor - Keep it simple. I recommend small centerpieces for the table and something around the fireplace a.k.a the alter. Do not go overboard! You will be responsible for carrying all this stuff up and back in the snowcat (Timberline will take some stuff up and back for you). Less is more. The venue is beautiful and it doesn't need much else. 5) Your DJ - If you want a DJ to emcee the evening and keep the tunes flowing then this is not your venue. There's barely space to dance and really nowhere to put a DJ. I suggest you make a playlist, download it, and put a friend in charge of the music. They have a speaker system and audio cable that can plug into a phone. 6) The snowcat - Some guest loved it and found it exhilarating, others thought it was too bumpy and hated it. We realized it depends on which side you are sitting on. My husband and I enjoyed it and felt it was a unique experience. Kudos to our snowcat operator for getting my husband's 87-year-old grandmother safely in and out.
What was great: Chandra (event coordinator) was very responsive and friendly. The housekeeping staff surprised us with cookies, champagne, and a handwritten card in our room. Beautiful views from the venue and the rustic charm. Great photos. Snowcat ride.
What could be improved:
Wait staff could bring drinks to the table during dinner. Arranging trips back from Silcox Hut was stressful for me and confusing for guests. The staff had me chasing guests down trying to group them into snowcat trips. Perhaps if they created a sign-up sheet this wouldn't be an issue. This was disruptive and I felt that I didn't get to enjoy the end of the evening. The staff also turned the lights on after the first snowcat trip at 9pm and started sweeping and flipping over benches near guests. It felt like we were being rushed out when we had the place until midnight.
Biggest regret: Not renting the bunkroom. I know it sounds crazy to spend your wedding night in a room that can sleep 24 people. Timberline gives you discounted rates on your wedding night at Silcox hut. We offered this to our guests no one was interested in sleeping in what sounded like barracks. When our friends saw how cool the bunk room was they quickly realized we messed up. Now we are trying to coordinate a group overnight there in the spring.-

We loved our wedding at Timberline! It isn't cheap to get married, and Timberline is no exception to that rule. That being said, we had an awesome wedding and wonderful experience overall aside from the cost. (let's be real I'm complaining about the cost but given the opportunity I'd do it again in a heart beat). We loved the food/drink choices and ability to really customize the menu to fit us. The scenery up there really cannot be beat. We managed an outdoor ceremony despite the rain the day before and whole morning of and it was stunning. Chandra was awesome to work with during the planning process. All the staff at Timberline are helpful/friendly and some of our guests still talk about some of them by name (here's looking at your Javier!) So much fun! -

The establishment is beautiful of course! The planning staff could be more flexible. I know this is probably the wedding business but I don't appreciate businesses that nickle and dime couples. Timberline Lodge is definitely this type of vendor.
We were married at Silcox Hut and the staff at the hut and people in charge of the snowcat shuttles were absolutely phenomenal! 5/5 stars! These people are the people that make your wedding happen and they have no problem doing whatever you need on the day of your wedding BUT leading up to that day it can be a pain dealing with the middle men (women). -

Beautiful Venue!
My Husband and I were married at Silcox Hut in May. In the beginning booking was easy and response time was great! My assigned Banquet coordinator was Tamara. The closer it got to the wedding the harder it was to get ahold of Tamara, many times a week or more would go in between her response to me and I had to send multiple emails before I would get a response. She made the experience less than ideal for us, and much stress was added because of her lack of communication. All of the staff up in Silcox Hut helping us day of was amazing!!!! The food was delicious and they were so kind and fun to us and our guests. We had a small wedding of 42 and to this day our friends and family mention how yummy all the food was. I would just suggest not having Tamara be you banquet point person and try to request the other woman who definitely picked up her slack and answered all of my questions for this very stressed bride the week before her wedding. -

I do not reccomend timberline as a wedding venu. My experience arranging our wedding at timberline was frought with hurdles and insurmountable frustration. We met at timberline and my husband taught me to snowboard there but that's where the good memories end. They broke and lost our wedding cake topper and then tried to blame us, their bakeries were uncooperative or unreachable. We had to send our final bill for review to our accountant who said "some wedding venues create special accounting" and he encouraged us not to pay the final accounting until it was fixed. We were being wrongly charged and the wedding coordinators loose interpretation of the legal contact was atrocious. Every decision felt like it was a battle with our coordinator. We had inconsistent communication and unreliable service. I was told by the venue coordinator manager that our guests would not have to pay for parking only to later be told by our coordinator that she insisted on our guests paying for parking. On our wedding day right before our wedding started I was told we could have our biodegradable fake snow for our send off for an extra $200 cleaning fee and the wedding coordinator manager came to tell me she wouldn't allow us to use it and she doesn't support it regardless of how eco friendly it was and I ended up giving it away right on the spot due to the level of tension and anger in her voice. It was difficult arranging our wedding coming from out of state and the entire experience leaves me with an awful memory even on our wedding day. The bathrooms you use for the wedding party to get dressed and have hair and makeup done are downstairs next to the staff elevator and people would walk in and during the wedding stole some of our things. We were unable to book a room for our wedding and i wouldn't reccomend it because they openly admit they don't have anywhere for you to safely keep your belongings or to keep people out of the bathroom. -

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and the food and service in the package is fantastic. However, the way that they treated us was awful, especially considering how much we paid. Prices kept on going up from our original quote. And the day of, there was absolutely no parking, it took some of our guests over an hour to find it. And when they asked for help the staff told them, too bad it was a busy day. I am appalled that they didn't have reserved parking for the wedding. I have NEVER been to a venue where they didn't reserve parking, so I was not prepared for that nightmare. We had to send my brother in law to save my grandma and park for her, because all of the handicapped were taken up and she couldn't walk a mile+. The other major complaint that I have were all of my things that disappeared. Both my sister and I's nice coats disappeared. And when we contacted lost and found, they couldn't care less. They wouldn't even bother to look for a second. And my mothers nice trifle dish that we used to keep flowers wet, was taken to the back by someone, and we we asked about it, they refused to go back and look. It was all just too much. Also the place our ceremony was wAsnt boarded off to others so random people kept on coming through. It was really strange. -
