We found Beth in a very short notice and I was not sure at the very beginning if this was the right choice. It turned out to be a great success. We felt so blessed to have Beth to wed our ceremony. She is very professional and responsive. It is a very memorable moment for both me and my wife. Thank you, Beth!

We really loved working with Beth on our wedding ceremony. She was incredibly kind and patient with us as we thought through which elements would make our wedding truly personal, even as we went back and forth on a few items days before our wedding! She met with us twice and both got to know us, but also helped us learn more about each other and what was important to each of us.

Our wedding ceremony was the backbone of our entire day, and I will always remember how meaningful it was. One of the greatest compliments my husband and I received is how much like “us” the ceremony felt. It’s really thanks to Beth, who guided us through the process and listened to all of our questions and concerns. Our ceremony would not have been as wonderful as it was without her!

Beth is a longtime friend of mine, so when George and I decided to get married - she was my only consideration to officiate! Of course I'm prejudiced, but it worked out beautifully. I knew our ceremony would be personalized, intimate, and filled with love! I live upstate, and she in NYC (where I used to live), but Beth eagerly met us in Woodstock to make plans, and we emailed back and forth ideas for the ceremony until we had it finalized. George and I were able to create with Beth exactly the kind of ceremony we wanted, pulling from a few religious and spiritual disciplines that voiced our beliefs and style. Beth had some very practical suggestions on orchestrating our small and informal backyard gathering of 25 guests, and honored all our requests. Beth brought warmth, humor, brevity, and grace to our ceremony. Every guest commented on how warm and loving she was, being friendly and authentically herself, while still being professional in her role as officiant. It was everything George and I could've hoped for.

Great Experience with Beth

My partner and I were both raised with two different religions and agreed early on to conduct an interfaith ceremony. Both of our families have observant religious members and it was a point of stress throughout the planning process. We knew that we would need to have a ceremony that was respectful of each others' cultures and also contained traditions from both religions to honor our upbringings.

Beth was the answer. She was incredibly respectful of our wishes and provided us with a strong foundation for our ceremony and allowed us total freedom to customize it to suit our wishes. Additionally, she offered wonderful input from her previous experiences to help us shape our ceremony to perfection. We are forever grateful to Beth.

Rev. Beth Gavin made our wedding ceremony so special. Every part of the process was a joy to go through with her. She made us feel calm during stressful moments and provided us with all of the materials and advice we needed. Rev. Beth Gavin is a wonderful officiant who we knew was the right person to officiate our wedding from the first meeting. Very attentive in tailoring the ceremony to our needs and thoughtful in distilling the essence of our commitment into words, we had a wonderful wedding thanks to the efforts of Beth. Beth was very open to what we wanted and not a script. My husband and I wanted a fairly simple ceremony, no religious references, no flowery passages and nothing traditional. Beth presented us with a draft, we edited out what we did not want, added what we wanted and a ceremony was born.

Beth is lovely and such a treat to work with. She provided us with ample materials (sample readings, vows, etc.) to help shape the ceremony, but more than that, she took the time to get to know us personally and her genuine knowledge of and affection for us as a couple was clear to everyone in attendance. We had the honor to have Beth Gavin marry my husband and me a few months ago. She was a perfect officiant for us, as we were interested in creating a ceremony that was uniquely ours, and she helped us create exactly that. It was a highly collaborative effort, which we very much enjoyed. We had several meetings leading up to the wedding date, starting from a "getting to know us better as a couple" meeting. She then customized the ceremony to be exactly what we envisioned. Even when we came up with some ideas that we thought might be unrealistic, she encouraged us to try them. "Why not?" was always her response and attitude.
Beth is both genuine and warm, and has a gift of putting everyone at ease before and during the ceremony.
She also guided us through many general wedding questions and concerns. She made many useful logistical suggestions that we were not aware of before, such as seating arrangements, sequence of events, photos, how to organize the music and musicians within the ceremony, etc.
Beth helped make our ceremony very unique and personal, as we created it in a less than traditional format. Beth made us feel very special on our special day. Many weeks later, we still receive compliments about how original and beautiful our ceremony was. We hope many more couples will be lucky enough to be married by Beth.

Beth Gavin is a very kind-hearted woman with the utmost care for both of us. She counseled us before marriage and has helped us work through some issues we were facing. The Incredible Beth Gavin

It's hard to put into words how meaningful Beth Gavin made our day. We instantly felt connected and comfortable with her during our first meeting. Beth was able to encapsulate our entire relationship and intention to one another in her ceremony. Beth is truly a wonderful person who becomes so invested in your marriage. Having Beth marry us was the best part of our day - it felt like we knew her our whole lives. Working with Beth cannot be easier - she is so willing to meet, talk on the phone, extremely communicative via email, and wrote and delivered everything ahead of schedule. She came so well prepared for our day and we completely trusted her with everything. I cannot recommend choosing Beth enough - we are so lucky to now have her in our lives.

We would recommend Beth to anyone looking to get married! She takes her time to meet with you as a couple before providing a personalized, thoughtful, and touching ceremony script. She is open to feedback, last minute questions, and even took the time to learn a non-english wedding blessing for us. On the day of she was warm, calm, and professional and her energy and supportiveness really helped us stay in the moment during our ceremony. Our family and friends all felt the same - Beth is the best!

We were so fortunate to have Beth officiate our wedding. Every step of the process was above expectations. Beth took the time to meet with us periodically and was timely in responding to our emails of questions and thoughts. Beth got to know us, and know our story. She made this process stress free and we really enjoyed getting to know her. She listened to our needs and designed a tailored ceremony that we envisioned. The ceremony itself was amazing. Our friends and family loved Beth, and how she brought everyone together in celebration of our marriage. Without a doubt I would recommend Beth to anyone looking for a wedding officiant.

Wonderful Ceremony

Working with Beth Gavin was like taking a breath of fresh air. She was very knowledgeable about various religions and cultures, very easy and pleasant to talk to. I especially loved how accommodating she was to whatever we requested to be incooperated in our ceremony. Even though [my now husband and I] spent a short time with her, she got the true sense of who we were, and in the process we all became friends. I know she loves what she does because it shows. Beth was amazing! She eased my nerves from the first moment we spoke. She was great to work with. I told her my ideas for the ceremony and she put it to life! She was eloquent and had a great delivery during the ceremony. I was getting anxious during the rehearsal when my bridal party was all over the place with the entrance and she took control and made sure they all knew what to do. I'm thankful I found Beth to officiate my ceremony. She made everything run amazingly smooth and captured my guest with her words during the ceremony.

I cannot tell you how much we appreciate Beth and her guidance through the process of creating our wedding ceremony. My husband and I are both in our forties and not religious and Beth’s guidance, humor and expertise helped us create a ceremony that was true to us.
We didn’t really have a concrete idea of what we wanted and from our first meeting Beth immediately eased our stress. She asked us leading questions, listened intently to our story, to our ideas and wishes. Through meetings in person, on the phone, and over e-mail, Beth guided us toward a ceremony that was exactly what we wanted, even though we couldn’t iterate it at the beginning. When we didn’t have a clue for a certain aspect, Beth chimed in with several ideas for inspiration.
Once we read the ceremony that Beth wrote for us, it became clear how intently she listened to us. She compiled a lovely story of who we are and how we came to love each other with humor, nuance and grace. I really appreciated how open Beth was to any edits we wanted to make; she didn’t make us feel awkward at all.
We had planned an outdoor wedding, but it rained and we had to move the ceremony inside. Beth didn’t miss a beat.
In the end, Beth brought our story to life with laughter, love and presence. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Reverend Beth was the most generous, attentive and loving person to have had shepherd us through this momentous transition in our lives. While being extremely respectful of our vision for our wedding day, Beth also enhanced our experience with her gentle encouragement to take the time to reflect on our life and love. She then beautifully wove our conversations with her into the ceremony, which was tailor-made for us. Our experience with Rev. Beth Gavin was excellent, and we give her our strongest possible recommendation. From the moment we met her, during our initial in-person planning discussion over coffee, we immediately felt comfortable and confident that Beth "got us" and would be the perfect officiant for our wedding. This was confirmed throughout the entire planning process, during which Beth was extremely responsive and worked closely with us to develop a personalized ceremony that was meaningful and powerful. She helped us choose readings, write our own vows, and develop the right feel for the entire ceremony. Beth's approach was to really get to know us, guiding us through a series of questions and discussions that helped us learn more about each other as a couple, discover the things we love most about each other, and capture those feelings eloquently during the ceremony. The entire planning process helped us grow closer together as a couple, and we owe much of this to Beth's expert guidance and support. To say that Beth made our ceremony everything we had dreamed of is a definite understatement. My husband and I waited until about 2 months prior to our wedding day to find an officiant (shame on us). The search was tedious, and after meeting with 10+ officiants we were beginning to lose hope that we would find someone who really clicked with us. Then came Beth and everything changed. Due to our crazy work schedules we initially had a phone chat with Beth and after almost an hour of conversation we decided to meet her in person. Out of everyone we met with, Beth was the only person who really tried to get to know us, and genuinely made us feel that she was interested in our story and what we wanted to achieve in our ceremony. Our meeting lasted almost 2 hours but the conversation was so effortless and enjoyable that it felt like only 30 minutes. As soon as my husband and I walked out of the meeting we knew our search was over and Beth was our officiant. She made the next few weeks so easy for us, and given the stress leading up to your wedding that is exactly what you need. She sent us a draft of our ceremony based on the several criteria we had given her and with personal touches she had added based on her observations of us as a couple. After a few small tweaks and 1 additional meeting to iron out the final details we were done. Our ceremony was so personal, funny, touching and special. My husband and I loved every minute of it, but the best gratification came when our guests came rushing up to us to tell us it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever seen because of all of the personal additions, readings and special touches that Beth helped us achieve. One of my friends even said that when she gets married she is definitely having Beth marry her because you could tell that she really cared and that this wasn't a "cookie cutter" ceremony. If you want an amazing ceremony that will leave you breathless, Beth is your go to.

Such a smooth and enlightening experience

Beth was fantastic in getting to know us. Meeting in person was great and she was very thorough with the preparation for our ceremony. We communicated often and she sent us lots of suggestions and information for each step of the way. Her questions were probing and sparked even more discussion for us before our big day and preparing for a new life together.

Amazing officiant

We decided to host a private official ceremony prior to our overseas wedding with 3 days notice. We just couldn't imagine the sterile nature of the courthouse in Brooklyn. In a matter of days we found Beth, and we ended up having a surprisingly sweet, emotional and beautiful ceremony in front of 20 friends and family. Couldn't recommend her more highly.

We cannot begin to thank Rev. Beth Gavin enough for creating such a beautiful ceremony and day for us. My husband and I feel truly blessed that she came into our lives and couldn't imagine a better person to have married us. Her love, energy, and spirit created such a warm and calming environment for us to say our vows and we are forever thankful to have met her!! Beth truly is the most caring, kind-hearted, professional, funny, and genuine officiant we could have ever asked for. I had talked to a dozen or so other officiants, but none were the right fit for us and I was getting discouraged and stressed. But as soon as I hung up the phone with Beth after our initial phone call, I texted my husband to let him know we found our officiant. Beth came to meet with the two of us at our home a couple days later, and within 10 minutes of speaking with her, all 3 of us were crying! Beth truly took the time to understand and get to know each of us individually and as a couple and was warm and supportive. She took the stress away about the ceremony (we only had 3 weeks to plan it with her!) and was encouraging and attentive. She listened to who we are, what we wanted the day to be, and honestly, by the next day, she had sent us the most amazing ceremony that beautifully captured everything we always wanted and everything we never knew it could even be. And that was only after knowing us for 2 days! We were blown away by how perfect it was. It was unique, thoughtful, and truly "us". She listens, offers guidance, and made the entire experience collaborative and effortless.
And all of our family and friends kept talking about was how amazing she was and how perfect the ceremony was! The energy and environment that was created by Beth was magical and the ceremony truly was my favorite part of our whole wedding weekend. We couldn't have had such a beautiful day or more perfect way to start our marriage without her. Thank you, Beth, from the bottom of our hearts.

We approached Beth as we were struggling to find two officiants who were willing to represent both sides of a Jewish/Protestant interfaith ceremony. She immediately referred us to a Rabbi she was already working with, and she had a ceremony plan that was a great starting point. She listened carefully to what we were trying to do with our ceremony, and helped us refine the plan to something we really loved, representing our two heritages distinctly and yet without conflict. And on the day of, it went totally smoothly. We were so pleased, and we got a lot of compliments from our guests on our thoughtful and heartfelt ceremony. What we were trying to do really came through, both for the guests and for us, and we have Beth to thank for that.

We are a french couple, living un Africa. My husband Eric, one day, like a joke, said to me, "do you want to get married un New York ?"
Yeah, it was a dream and a big surprise for me. But, as a future bride, organize a wedding in New York was not a easy you Know ! But, in Gabon, we have internet too :) so, i tried to search first an officiant for or wedding. It was the most important for us because the Spirit on the wedding is on the officiant. And i found Beth Gavin and hier website. I sent her a message and she responded to me in the same day. She was fast, very nice and the first feeling was very good. We talked with her a lot, by email, even Skype and always Sue was there for any questions. She is the niciest person i know, really every thing you want for the ceremony, you can tell her. She's available and explain you clearly the process to get married in New York when you are not from America. Now, i can say that Beth is a friend, she knows a lot about Eric and I. It's the best choice for our wedding !

Beth was outstanding to work with. From our initial contact right up through the ceremony she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and very understanding of our wishes for the ceremony. She took the time to ask great questions to get to know us as individuals and as a couple which truly came through in the final ceremony. We asked Beth to work with a Rabbi she had never met to create an interfaith ceremony and she was wonderful through the entire process - working directly with the Rabbi, incorporating the details that we both wanted in the ceremony, and ultimately creating the perfect ceremony for our wedding. Beth exudes excitement and a truly caring nature for your individual ceremony.

One of the most amazing aspects was all of the compliments we received following the ceremony. Both of our families absolutely loved how the Rabbi and Beth seamlessly integrated our two backgrounds and so many of the guests came up saying how absolutely beautiful the ceremony was! Many thought that Beth and the Rabbi had been working together for years as their transitions flowed beautifully.

I would recommend Beth in a heartbeat to help create the perfect ceremony and be a part of your special day!
