From the first meeting, we knew that we had to work with Carly and her team for our wedding. She immediately understood our vision and improved upon it with plenty of her own creative style. The wedding florals that we received from them were simply jaw-dropping. They not only created abundant aisle decorations, altar arch, delicate ikebanas for tables, and details around the venue, but also supplied numerous other nonfloral elements such as old books, candles, votives, and table lamps. Carly is simply the best. We highly highly recommend that you use Thurman and Fig for your next event. -

From the start of planning I knew that florals and greenery were going to be the most important part of my decor. T&F, Carly, and the whole team are so incredibly talented. I let them know what styles I liked and what I was hoping for and they ran with it and it was absolutely stunning. From the centerpieces and their vases, to a stunning above sweetheart install. They were an indispensable part of our day! If I have any regrets it’s that I didn’t have even MORE florals at the bar or photo guest book table to continue to show off their beautiful work. -

Flowers and greenery were the MOST important aspect of my decor. I had chosen a very masculine venue - and my vision for the space was heavily revolved around how to soften it up with the florist of my choice. My vision for the ceremony and reception went beyond my wildest expectations. It was perfection. Everything I asked for, I received and more. It was breathtaking and worth every penny. Carly and her team were absolutely amazing to work with! I had a few ideas, but ultimately wanted to give Carly the creative freedom to bring my vision to life. Carly and team were able to make all of our floral dreams come true! We hired Thurman & Fig for a number of reasons - first being we absolutely loved their work, and they were recommended by our photographer. Also, Thurman & Fig is one of the few floral vendors we found that offers a self-setup option. This made it so that we could have our dream setup for something a little bit more budget friendly than a full service florist.
Carly was able to take our mockups and color palette and create something incredible. She also created the bouquet of my dreams - I asked for something a bit more out-there and she DELIVERED!! I would hire Thurman & Fig over and over again if I could. -

I cannot overstate how much we loved what Thurman & Fig did for our wedding!! I'm very type A, so I provided inspo photos, mood board, and colors, but ultimately had to put it in their hands which, after talking with Carly multiple times, I did have complete trust in them. And still, I can't believe how much the florals absolutely blew us away. We even had guests commenting that they usually don't take note of the flowers at a wedding, but they couldn't not marvel at them! Some women were even fighting over the centerpieces at the end of the night because they wanted them for their Thanksgiving table decor!! If you are even slightly considering Thurman & Fig - do it. Anyone who doesn't use T&F is out of their mind and making a massive mistake. We are so so happy with their product and service, what an amazing team to work with. -

We loved working with Carly and the creative team at Thurman and Fig. My husband and I each had one "most important vendor" (flowers were mine, catering was his) that we knew we wanted to be very, very particular about. After lots of research and quotes, we landed on Thurman and Fig, as we love that their focus on simplicity, timelessness, sustainability, partnerships with local farmers, collaboration, and value.
Even given our very high expectations and specific vision, Carly went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. She is such a talented florist and designer...she truly brought my vision for a summery, whimsical garden wedding to life. Every little touch--from the beautiful gold bracelets as part of my mom and grandmothers' corsages to the stunning ranunculus filled, oh-so-spectacularly textured bouquet, to the bespoke vases sprinkled throughout the venue and cocktail hour--was dreamy. Several friends and family members told me that it was the most beautiful floral display they'd ever seen and I would have to agree. It was magical. -

Carly and the whole Thurman & Fig team were a dream to work with. They took our initial vision and ran with it, providing helpful suggestions where we needed and seamlessly taking any feedback we had about options we were less interested in. We had some perhaps unique requests and they worked with us to find options that fit our vision. One of my favorite moments from our wedding was walking into the reception space for the first time - the way the florals and overgrown moss transformed the space blew me away. T&F was a pleasure to work with and provides an incredible quality of service. -

STUNNING!! Flowers were a huge part of our wedding, we wanted dark, moody, fairytale vibes and we could not have been happier!! I cried walking into the dining room for the first time it was so beautiful, they surpassed every expectation by a thousand miles. Three weeks later people are still complimenting the floral arrangements that were all throughout our venue. We honestly didn’t have any firm ideas of what we wanted other than a basic color scheme. They took that and turned it into an absolute dream come true! They were easy to work with, so kind, and executed everything beyond our wildest dreams. I cannot recommend Thurman & Fig enough! The T&F Team created the most beautiful, magical floral experience for our wedding. Each bouquet, installation, and accessory was perfect and the team brings incredible expertise and artistry to all of their designs.
We loved working with Carly & the team throughout the full wedding planning process and appreciated T&Fs willingness to make recommendations that they thought would better fit our vision for the wedding. (Take them up on recommendations they make - you won't regret it!)
T&F also accommodated several random, late-in-the-game requests (a floral dog collar, water tubes to help with shipping to floral preservation, changing numbers), and were flexible and quick to respond throughout the full process.
When we walked into the ceremony & reception space we were absolutely blown away by the florals, the attention to detail, and the absolute magic that they created for us. I strongly recommend hiring T&R - they are such a dream team!

Thurman & Fig are actual miracle workers. When I booked them, I knew I wanted a "growing garden" down my aisle, but didn't have much of a vision past that. My expectations were far exceeded. The florals were absolutely breathtaking. From the bud vases on the cocktail table to the aisle pieces to the greenery on my copper arch, everything was pure perfection. My bouquet and the bouquets for my bridesmaids were a dream. My venue is gorgeous alone, so I knew florals was all that was needed and Thurman & Fig served up all my floral dreams. Carly and her team truly brought our wedding vision to life in the most beautiful and meaningful way. Our initial call brought up lots of great ideas, including combining greenery from the east and west coasts to represent the places my husband and I grew up. When we had probably too many questions regarding a hanging floral display, Carly took the time to walk us through everything and assure us of her plans. She delivered beyond what we could have ever imagined. From the bouquets, to a head table installation, to all the small bud vases, everything was so so perfect. I knew I wanted to hire Thurman & Fig before I even got engaged. They have created magic in some of my friend's weddings, and their work just speaks for itself. Carly and her team work hard, know florals, and KNOW how to make your space look amazing. I had a fairly simple/generic mood board when we started, and they got it right away. About a month or so out from our wedding, I decided to make a few small changes (add some bud vases to the bar and escort tables, putting more candles in the reception room, beef up the arbor more than I initially wanted) and they made it happen with no issue. My bouquet was perfect- I didn't know what flowers I wanted, but they hit my color scheme and my one request of making it look amazing but not TOO big that it was hard to hold. My arbor was such a statement piece and it was perfect for ceremony pics. Everything was reused from the ceremony to the reception and I couldn't have been happier with how everything looked! They have your back and know what you want- even if you can't explain it! -

I can say without a doubt the flowers and decorations Carly and her team created for our event was the most beautiful I have ever seen. My bouquet took my breath away when I first saw it. Carly and Thurman & Fig are amazing kind humans who make gorgeous flowers for your wedding. I wanted only white flowers with greenery for our wedding, but loved the unique flowers that Carly had used in previous weddings, like King Protea, etc.
Carly did such an amazing job of taking random descriptions of things I said over the phone and putting them all together, but into something even more beautiful than I could even imagine. I also requested a hanging floral arrangement, which was beyond stunning and HUGE! It really made the room and smelled AMAZING! She also did the candles with our floral centerpieces with pieces of driftwood and decor, which were just so beautifully designed and put together.
Carly took all of my emails with extra requests and changes like a champ and was so responsive and nice through the whole experience. Hire Thurman & Fig if you want to have the most beautifully curated flowers on your wedding. Carly will listen to you, create your mood board, and then blow your mind giving you even more than you expect on the day of. -

Wowza! The creativity behind this team is insane! I could not be more obsessed with the florals for my wedding. I will do everything I can to preserve my bouquet because it was absolutely perfect. I told Carly that I was looking for whimsical, overgrown, and not polished for my autumn wedding and she nailed it! I loved all of the colors selected and the mix of dried and fresh blooms to add all the texture I was looking for. All of the floral arrangements transformed our venue from a super industrial vibe to a garden oasis. The pictures speak for themselves...hire this super talented team! You won't regret it.

Stunning work!
I’m still obsessing over our wedding florals! First, Carly is super sweet and easy to work with. From the beginning she was very responsive to all my emails and questions. She sent a floral board reflecting my style prior to our first call and quickly put together an initial quote. From there we worked to make changes and fit our budget. About a month before our wedding, we had a final call and of course I had changed my mind about some things. One big change was to put greenery around the neon sign we were hanging above our table. I dropped it off to her 2 weeks prior so she and her team could create the greenery piece to fit behind the sign. She really listened to all my request and even suggested changes to enhance the look.
When I walked into the Assembly Room on our wedding day I was in awe. The space looked stunning! Especially the ceremony backdrop which changed to our sweetheart table backdrop after cocktail hour. The way the palms were arranged and setup to be moved after the ceremony to frame the table was brilliantly beautiful. All the tables looked gorgeous. The simplicity of the bud vases and candles really stood out in the space. Seeing all the details we discussed brought to life was so exciting! My husband and I received so many compliments from our guest and our still hearing about how beautiful the flowers looked. Carly and her team exceeded my expectations, and I cannot thank them enough! -

Stunning Florals
Carly and her team work magic with flowers! Carly did the florals for my backyard wedding last June and my big ceremony in May. She takes the time to get to know you and your vision. Carly and her team really helped bring together our wedding vision. After our meeting and going over our mood board, I couldn't wait to see it all come together. Our wedding day came with surprise weather that included on and off rain showers and winds up to 25 miles per hour! Our plans of an outdoor ceremony quickly transitioned to inside a tent. Carly and her team were able to adjust and placed our ceremony floral pieces inside the tent. These pieces truly brought all the feels with them. Our amazing wedding coordinator at The Otherside Creatives referred us to the lovely florist, Carly and her amazing business, Thurman & Fig. I fell in love with all of her work and it was a no brainer that I would love to have her for my wedding. When I had to postpone my spring industrial style wedding and eventually move the venue to my Mom's backyard, Carly was so supportive in making the adjustments. We wiped out all of our original plans of white blooms and greenery and started from scratch. Carly suggested we do bold summer colors and I wanted her and her team to do whatever they wanted. They went above and beyond on the rainy, hot muggy, day. What she and her team created transformed my Mom's yard into an absolute dream. Exceeded All my Hopes and Dreams!
Where do I even start with Carly?! As a wedding photographer, I've worked with a lot of florists and flowers were an important part of the vision for my wedding. I knew that hiring Carly from Thurman & Fig was a must for my wedding pretty early on! She was so kind and helpful in our initial consultations in helping fill in the gaps in my vision and walked me through what she could do within my budget. When COVID hit and we had to reschedule our wedding, she was so kind and gracious while we were finding a new date and working through all the details of making that happen. We then decided to have a small ceremony in advance of our big wedding next year, and I knew I needed Carly for that too!! I had absolutely no vision other than a very general color palette and asked her to just do her thing and work her magic. She absolutely did not disappoint and I LOVED the flowers!! Not only did she create stunning arrangements that made all of my tiny elopement dreams come true, but she also went above and beyond to create a beautiful little ceremony corner on the porch of the house we had our wedding at when pouring rain kept us from getting married outside. She took what could have been a disappointing plan B and made it just as good if not better than our original plan A. We cannot wait to see the magic that Carly creates for our big wedding and feel really fortunate to get to work with her twice!! -

An absolute highlight from our wedding
My husband and I were beyond amazed by the beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets that Carly & her team put together. I cannot sing their praises enough. I tend to be pretty particular and Carly listened to all of my ideas and requests. I fully trusted her judgement and was so glad I did because she has an incredible style. She was unbelievably flexible as we planned in the middle of the pandemic and very easy to communicate with as numbers and needs changed. Guests, friends, and family all said they had never seen such beautiful flowers and that was due fully to the artistic abilities that Thurman & Fig brings to the table. I will be recommending them to all of my friends getting married from here on out without a doubt! -

Carly is an absolute angel. The first of many times I cried on my wedding day was when she cheerfully delivered perfect bouquets to our hotel room. She truly brought my vision to life, and seamlessly filled in the gaps where I didn't know what I wanted - all for a very reasonable price. She even sourced things that I wanted that she didn't have! Book her before she's taken (seriously)
Carly & her team are absolute artists. Carly was so calming during our planning process, she was my favorite vendor to talk to because she always seemed to relieve any stress I was manifesting through the planning process! Two other close friends used T&F for their weddings this year and each of our arrangements were unique and personalized to flawlessly fit the "feel" of our weddings. Thurman and Fig's style is versatile, but always authentic to their aesthetic. I talked through some color palettes and vibes and when I saw a mood board she created for me, I swooned and obsessed over it until the wedding. She knew what I was looking for better than I could find on Pinterest or verbalize!! Carly was kind enough to do a conference call with a crazy bride and crazy mother of the bride and it was efficient, organized, and professional! But more important than the prep, the best thing about working with Carly and her team is, of course, THE FINAL PRODUCT! Our wedding felt romantic, classic, and sprawling all in one perfect package. The florals truly made our photos "pop". sometimes I just stare at photos of the blooms (I actually have multiple pages in our wedding album focused on the florals), and wish I could still carry them around with me. If you are looking for a florist, don't hesitate, she might be taken and any "second choice" might not have cut it for me! -

My wedding was a magical floral dreamland thanks to Thurman & Fig! Carly and team really went all out for our wedding and created some incredible pieces for us. Just a month before our wedding we decided that we wanted to do a suspended floral arrangement in the ceremony room. Thurman & Fig created the most EPIC arrangement I have ever seen in my life and my guests could not stop commenting on it. The bridal bouquets were absolutely stunning and the greenery across our furniture really helped to bring our reception to life. I could not be happier with Thurman & Fig and would highly recommend them to everyone! -

Carly and the Thurman & Fig team took my jumbled thoughts and created absolute magic! I could not have dreamed up more beautiful florals for my wedding - I was in complete awe when I first saw everything. I knew I wanted our flowers to be unique and Carly had so many great ideas to allow my vision to come to life! We decided that a hanging piece in the center of the venue would be the perfect addition to the space and our wedding guests are still talking about how beautiful it was! Carly and her team helped create our vision for our wedding. She tapped into our style/sensibilities. She and her team collaborated with us and created the edgy/glam/french romantic look we were going for. She was detailed oriented and made time to go over every little detail of what we like and don't like. I was blown away when I walked into the reception room and saw all the tables set up. Stunning florals!
I'm a photographer and shot a wedding with Thurman & Fig florals-- stun-ing! The flowers were fresh and held up well all day. The flowers were wrapped in a stunning ribbon. Highly recommend! -

Amazing florals!
Carly was SO great to work with. I found her via instagram and immediately fell in love with everything about her floral design style. From our first phone call to the wedding day everything went very smoothly. She is easy going and super sweet. The payment/billing was also very easy. Now the florals were AMAZING - I was blown away when they arrived on our wedding morning. I had given Carly general colors and a couple specific flowers/greens but I told her for the most part she could have creative freedom and I am so happy with how all the florals turned out. I am still getting compliments about my bridal bouquet 5 months later. She clearly has a passion for what she does and it shows. Highly recommend! -

After searching on Instagram and online for a florist, I emailed several to inquire further. Carly @ Thurman & Fig was the first to respond and we immediately scheduled time to connect. After the first few minutes of our conversation, my mom and I knew that Carly/Thurman & Fig would be perfect (and it is usually not like us to make a decision before vetting hundreds of options, ha). Carly is SO warm and genuine, has absolutely amazing style and showed her expert knowledge, accommodation, and design ideas right from the start, through the end of the event. On top of her personable and knowledgeable demeanor, we learned she had previous Anthropologie styling experience and knew it would be a perfect match. From start to finish our experience with Carly was everything we could have hoped for and more. Her communication is top knotch (which is so important and sometimes underrated in the wedding industry) and she made us feel 1000% confident in what the finished product would be. And OH MY GOSH the finished products were out of this world. When Carly & team walked into the hotel with the flowers, all other vendors in the room audibly gasped. They were the most beautiful florals I had ever seen put together and it somehow kept getting better from there. Carly and team put together absolutely stunning table-scapes (and did some on the spot improv to use decor we had brought in new ways) and an absolutely stunning smilax wall. Wowwowow we already thought the venue was incredible and Thurman & Fig brought this to the next level. We are so grateful we got to work with you; thank you, thank you, thank you. -

Words cannot express how in awe I was of all of my wedding florals from Carly. Carly is super talented and fulfilled all of my wildest wedding dreams! She was great to work with, offering to look at my Pinterest boards for inspiration, which was so helpful because it can be hard to describe in words what you envision. Carly also offered her own great recommendations and helped me choose an option for my centerpieces that fit my budget, but still worked perfectly with my theme! Florals can definitely be expensive, but Carly was willing to work with me and figure out what was most important to me and where I may be able to cut some costs. Carly was also willing to do drop off in two different locations (on a crazy Navy football traffic day no less!) since the guys were getting ready at an Airbnb in downtown Annapolis, and the girls got ready at the venue in Edgewater. It could not have been easier! Everything exceeded my expectations, and it was apparent that Carly has an awesome artistic eye, no detail was overlooked. Carly even left a sweet handwritten thank you note in the bridal suite, which really drove home that I had picked a great vendor. My wedding felt perfectly romantic and ethereal and I could not have achieved that without Carly's help! -

I was instantly blown away by her flowers and knew that her style was what we were looking for for our wedding day. After a few emails back-and-forth, Carly came up with a vision for our wedding day, which we loved.
Carly was flexible when we added a few more flowers close to the wedding and she offered her professional opinion on some decisions my husband and I had to make. The archway she created for our ceremony was stunning! My bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets were gorgeous, which I received so many compliments on how unique the flowers were! We loved all the greenery she used and the little touches of copper, candles, and small vases worked so well with the venue. Without a doubt, Carly was the best choice for our wedding! -

Caroline Sent on 06/29/2018Carly and her team were literally a dream team my wedding weekend. I had a two day wedding- Indian wedding Friday and American wedding Saturday. The style and colors of these days could not have been more opposite. Carly absolutely nailed my vision for both days. She really steps out of the box and gives you arrangements that aren't cookie-cutter that you see at every other wedding. Bright and colorful Friday and neutrals with greenery for Saturday. All the arrangements I loved more than what was in my head going into the weekend. She did a greenery chandelier over our dance floor that was so dreamy. I got SO many compliments on everything. She is just so creative and has such a good eye and she's so easy to work with. I would recommend Carly to everyone who needs a florist! -

Carly has incredible creativity and her arrangements are like nothing I've seen elsewhere in the area. I also had a specific request to incorporate driftwood into my beach wedding decor, and she delivered above and beyond. My guests couldn't stop talking about how unique the center pieces were! Better yet, she is an all-around kind and friendly person. Carly's on her way to becoming a renowned florist in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.

My wedding was very short notice yet she was still able to set up a Pinterest board for me, kept me updated on what she thought, and deliver beyond beautiful end products! She did such an excellent job on the flowers and greenery I had! My favorite part was that with out me telling her I was marrying a South African (at least I don't remember telling her) she had, unbeknownst to me, incorporated a protea into the bridal bouquet. The protea is the national flower of South Africa. It was such a beautiful discovery on the wedding day! Thank you again Carly! -

The florals & decor Carly put together for my wedding were better than I could have ever dreamed. Somehow she took the mood-board to a completely new level that was more "me" than I even knew myself. I literally have no idea how she did that after just two zoom meetings and a few emails. Do yourself a favor, and trust Thurman & Fig to create the most beautiful space for your wedding. There is no need to stress, because you are in GOOD hands with these girlies. (Side note, I was so worried about our cake being boring...but how gorgeous did it turn out!?)Oh...and my photographer said the reception space was one of her most favorite she has ever seen. Just blown away! -

Incredibly talented and reasonable!
I had communicated with some other florists before contacting Carly and was not impressed. They were not understanding the vision I was trying to convey or blowing through my budget. Carly was the exact opposite. From the first phone call, I could tell that she was thoughtful and professional and truly listened. The florals for our wedding were stunning and I am incredibly thankful that vendors like her exist. -
