I had the most wonderful experience with the bridal hair team at Kohnur and cannot recommend them enough. From the very beginning, Theresa—the owner—provided exceptional customer service. After I submitted an inquiry form, she reached out almost immediately and offered to schedule a call to really understand my vision and hair goals. My wedding was fast approaching, but Theresa made me feel completely supported and pampered throughout the entire process. Her responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine care truly set the tone for such a positive experience.

I was paired with Isela for my hair, and I’m so grateful I was connected with her. She is incredibly talented and has such a warm, fun, and personable presence which is so welcomed on such an important weekend. We did a trial together where we tested the wedding day look— it was so helpful and kind that she made herself available for this on such short notice. She created a gorgeous updo for my rehearsal dinner, and on the wedding day she styled my hair in the most beautiful soft glam waves. She made me feel completely at ease because it was clear she is a highly skilled professional. She was also very open to my feedback—like switching between a side part and a middle part—and adapted quickly to make sure everything felt perfect.

My mom and bridesmaids also had their hair done, and everyone looked stunning. Isela was so fun and lovely during our getting ready process which set the tone for a fun wedding day. We received so many compliments all night long!

Thank you so much to Theresa and Isela for making me feel so beautiful and cared for. I truly can’t thank you enough for helping make my wedding weekend so special!! I hope to work together in the future!

The best decision ever for our biggest day ever

I cannot recommend Tokiko enough for wedding hair and makeup! As someone who doesn't typically wear much makeup, I wanted a look that felt special for my wedding day but still felt like me. Tokiko nailed the balance perfectly. I was 100% thrilled with how my hair and makeup turned out, and I'm an extremely nitpicky person. Her work on me made me feel so beautiful and happy with how I looked, and that set the tone for the entire day.

In addition to her incredible talent, she is so kind and friendly, but also CHILL and grounded. Our personalities meshed really well and I didn't feel like I had to mimic bubbly energy for her (which is a GIFT when engaging with wedding vendors).

She was on top of everything and so attentive, even providing multiple touch-ups for my husband’s family throughout the day. I felt so beautiful and happy, and honestly, the day wouldn't have been possible without her!

A truly luxuious, thoughtful, and unforgettable experience

When Kohnur said they’d treat me like a queen, they truly meant it! From my first chat with Theresa, I felt understood and supported - other than looking at my inspo photos, she took time to get to know me, my style, my personality, my aura, and my vision, and matched me perfectly with Veronica.

Veronica was incredible - professional, skilled, punctual, and so kind. She made me feel calm and confident throughout the trial and on the wedding day. Veronica didn’t just bring my vision to life - she somehow created more than I even knew I wanted!! She handled my mom’s makeup beautifully, kept my two looks flawless through tears and hugs. They held up beautifully through the ceremony, photos, and reception. She even went above and beyond to help with little details like my dress and purse.

I was also very impressed by how organized and detail-oriented the team was. They gathered all my information and notes into an online system, which made the whole process smooth and reassuring.

I can’t recommend Veronica and Kohnur enough! The experience was luxurious, seamless, and filled with genuine care. From start to finish, I felt really supported, radiant, and confident on one of the most meaningful days of my life. Thank you!!

I just got married 2 weeks ago!
The Kohnur team indeed pampered me like a queen on my wedding day. I felt very taken care of from day 1 of my bridal beauty journey. Theresa made it a priority that I am partnered with an artist who is familiar with my asian features, from my eye shape, skin and hair type as well as my own personal makeup history and preferences. Jamie, my own HMU artist, really delivered on the day of. She was patient and listened to my vision during my bridal previews. I had a second hair and makeup look change with Jin and that went perfectly as well. She was so fast and efficient in time for the reception. It’s very apparent the years of beauty expertise behind these artists but I want to emphasize the importance of their kindness, patience, and dedication to making you feel the best that you can be on the best day of your life. Theresa and the team just get it. Thank you Theresa for listening to me from day 1 and guiding me up to the last minute of planning. Thank you Jamie for making me feel at ease and making the preview and day of beauty process as easy as talking to a friend while getting ready. Look No Further - Best Makeup Artists in the Business!

I cannot recommend Kohnur enough – they were truly one of the highlights of my wedding experience! From the very beginning, Theresa was incredibly warm, professional, and so communicative. She made scheduling my trial super easy and really listened to what I wanted, which immediately put me at ease.

During the trial, I was already blown away by the quality and care that went into every detail. But nothing could have prepared me for how amazing I felt (and looked!) on the big day itself.

Tokiko, my makeup artist, was an absolute dream. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she’s also such a calming, lovely presence to have around on what can be a hectic day. She made me feel beautiful, confident, and completely myself – which was exactly what I hoped for. The makeup lasted all day and night, photographed beautifully, and still looked flawless at the very end of the evening.

Great experience for my (groom) mom

Kohnur has been professional, friendly, and communicative from the very beginning.
As the groom, I don’t know anything about make up, and my mother doesn’t either. But Kohnur has made it a very easy, enjoyable, and comfortable inprocess for my mom.
I dropped off my mom on wedding day morning, showed the artists some inspo pics my mom found, and the results were amazing. It went beyond our imagination.

When I first met Theresa, I knew that I would ultimately choose her and her team of talented artists to handle HMU for me and my loved ones. In our first call, Theresa focused on making sure that she knew what I wanted and that my look for the day would also work with my husband's features. She gave important feedback and was honest about what might or might not look good on me.The attention to detail was unlike any other HMU team I spoke to.

Most importantly, I felt so supported throughout the planning process because Theresa was so understanding and accommodating of my mom's health needs. Planning a wedding can be stressful, so it definitely helped knowing someone was on my side to make things easier.

On the day of, I appreciated having some of the artists who can speak Mandarin to help my MIL feel her best and also vocalize what she wanted. Shoutout to Michelle, who not only helped me look my best but also was so efficient and understanding of the chaos of the day. She really is amazing and hopefully another occasion arises for me to work with her in the future.

Kohnur is simply the best! My artist, Tokiko, was absolutely amazing and made me look so beautiful for my wedding. From my trial appointment to the actual day, she made perfect adjustments so I got exactly what I wanted. My makeup stayed in place for TWELVE hours without a single smudge and zero visible caking or pores, and my hair defied gravity without hurting at any point (a miracle, because I have LONG hair for an updo). Tokiko was an absolute angel, she made me feel so at ease and she was so kind to my family and friends as well. Shout out to the owner, Theresa, for being so comprehensive on everything from the moment I reached out as well, she really made me feel like every detail was being cared for.

The best team

Working with the Kohnur team was a breeze, and truly made my wedding planning that much easier. I was referred to Kohnur through my planner, and I couldn't have been happier with this team. I previously had done a makeup trial with another studio I found on my own, and honestly it was really bad. So after being traumatized from that experience, I was very wary when I reached out to the Kohnur team. However, Theresa very quickly eased my concerns with an immediate phone call, and I bonded with her immediately. She is so personable, sweet and professional. She took the time to get to know me, and my preferences. She's always on the ball, and very responsive. She referred me to Fennie and her team, who did such an amazing job making my girls and me look beautiful on my big day. I'm really picky with my makeup, and I like it a very certain way. But Fennie did such a good job doing EXACTLY the look I wanted. I know Fennie costs a premium, but she is so worth it. I would highly, highly recommend booking with the Kohnur team for your beauty needs.

Wedding Day Makeup

I had the privilege of having Tokiko do my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was the best decision.
She looked at all my inspiration and ideas, asked me questions and provided her thoughts and opinion, and in the end brought it all together perfectly.
She took her time as she worked her magic and was a calming presence on such an exciting and emotional day.

There are no words to describe how amazing Tokiko is. She is not only great at what she does, but she is such a genuine person too.

Great job on wedding day

One of the first things my now wife did when we were wedding planning was tell me about how great Kohnur was, so we ended up hiring them for our wedding. My wife said I even had to get my hair and makeup done, and at first, I wasn’t sure I needed anything, but she insisted that guys also need to “get glammed up” since it was our big day. I thought the experience was really nice, and the artist was really nice and made me feel comfortable. I’m glad she made me look my best, so I would recommend that all grooms get the service done for their weddings also. As for my wife, she looked absolutely gorgeous.

Not intimidating

They were highly prepared and on schedule. They weren’t intimidating, so when I asked to add more eye liner and change up my hair a little bit, I wasn’t scared to ask.

beyond expectations for a wedding hair & makeup vendor

I have been working weddings & events for the last 10+ years and often interact with Theresa's team, usually during the touch-up phase around the time when the photo/video teams arrive. Kohnur artists are consistently super polite and professional and I always love seeing Kohnur listed on the vendor roster. Many years after working other couples' weddings, it was finally my turn and I turned to Kohnur for my beauty needs. Although I didn't initially plan on or prioritize booking a luxury hair & makeup vendor, going with Kohnur was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding!

The consultation (and my first time meeting) with Theresa was the perfect beginning. Despite how much she has grown the business (and her team!), she still takes initial client calls herself. She's incredibly charismatic and approachable—we connected immediately and she gave a ton of beauty, life and bio-/health hacks that I am still following although my wedding is already weeks old news at this point!

After booking, Andrea guided me through everything: super helpful beauty and timing tips to prepare for the wedding day-of, providing a google slides deck to consolidate hair & makeup inspiration photos for myself and my wedding party, scheduling services for our wedding party, moms, and flower girl, in addition to milestone emails with beauty tips that were super helpful and often great reminders. Andrea was always quick to respond to changes while genuinely wanting to help.

Theresa matched me up with Tokiko, who is undoubtedly a master artist. I loved our trial session conversations, and she was amazing on wedding day. I got so many compliments and actually didn't hate how I looked in photos!

Theresa was right... wedding hair + makeup is an investment, and Kohnur is well worth it! Most wedding hair & makeup vendors provide only and exactly what you pay for: hair & makeup, which is fine and what is expected. With Kohnur, you get a complete lifestyle makeover that went far beyond the recommended skincare routine. Planning weddings and events doesn't intimidate me, but the beauty and creative aspects were something I kept putting off. Kohnur held my hand and made me feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Multiple great experiences--including my own wedding!

Prior to my wedding, I had three experiences with Kohnur--all with beautiful hair and makeup--so I knew Kohnur would be the best choice for me for my own wedding! I've been a bridesmaid so many times and have gotten professional hair and makeup for most of them, but hands down, I always found Kohnur to do a wonderful job for the brides as well as the bridal party! The team is professional, timely, friendly, and talented. My bridal trial and wedding day makeup both turned out beautifully, so I was pleased with the results. Wedding Hair and Make Up

Tokiko and Michelle did SUCH a beautiful job with our hair and make up (me, my mom, and sister). I told Tokiko that that was the most beautiful I think I've ever seen myself, and it photographed just perfectly in our wedding photos! Luxury Bridal Beauty Experience

Kohnur is a luxury service. Was I concerned about how expensive it was? Yes. Do I have any regrets about booking with them? NOPE!

Immediately after I met Theresa for the first time I knew I had found the perfect beauty team for my wedding day. This splurge was absolutely worth it. We had Johanna, Lindsay, Nik and Leslie as our incredible team. The bridal party had nothing but good things to say about how they looked. I can personally attest my hair and makeup wore beautifully throughout the day. My eye makeup and lashes survived my happy tears and was fully in tact before I went to bed that night.

Working with their team was a dream, they helped resolve any issues or reservations I had and were flexible on the day of when we found out a member of our party was unable to make it. Can't recommend them enough!

Soft glam love

Kohnur is top notch! Tokiko and her team kept my bridesmaids and me beautiful. I felt like their work enhanced our natural beauty and the best part was it did not feel like I was wearing a ton of makeup at all. Very long lasting. Very comfortable and so so gorgeous in photos. Another thing that stood out about Kohnur to me against the 5 other MUA companies I interviewed, was that Theresa (the owner) took the time to get to know me and my love story. It was a very personable, unique experience. She was very easy to talk to and I felt an immediate connection. I trusted in her promises that day and she did not disappoint. 100/10 recommend.

Kohnur was a perfect choice for my wedding hair and makeup! Theresa was incredibly professional, detailed, and communicative from our first consultation. She connected me with Jin, who did my trial and wedding day h&mu, together with Olivia for my bridal party. They were both incredibly skilled, friendly, and prompt. Jin came to my house for the trial and let me try two looks. For my wedding day, Jin executed on my inspo just right didn't hesitate to make minor tweaks when asked. The final looks were beautiful and long-lasting. They were very patient with the kids, and I also really appreciated that they were able to fit a last minute, additional service for the wedding day. Highly recommend for your engagement and wedding day!! Theresa and her Team are phenomenal!

For my engagement photos, Fennie did my hair and makeup. She is gifted! I was thoroughly impressed with how I looked. She listened to what I envisioned and provided her expertise advice, which resulted in a beautiful blushing bride-to-be!

On our wedding day, we had 13 people who needed hair/makeup done. We started at 6:00 AM. Everyone on her Team were efficient and talented, and made everyone look so good! My hair and makeup stayed as is the whole day and evening. I cannot thank Kohnur enough for making me feel stunningly beautiful on our wedding day!

Amazing experience

I am so glad I went with them for my hair and make up. From the beginning Theresa was super responsive and helpful help me decided what would be the best fit for me and my bridal party. To the engagement photo make up and hair Michelle was super kind she was happy to adjust to the look I wanted and she was super efficient and with quality work. Chole was the one did my hair and make up for my big day, we had a trial session she knew exactly what I wanted from my inspiration photos and able to give me advise on her opinion on what would look best for me. On my big day with a super compact schedule she still took her time and make sure I look amazing for all the photos and videos! An Unforgettable Experience

For someone who has limited knowledge of doing my own makeup and hair, I wanted to make sure I trusted my wedding look with someone who truly knew what they were doing. Theresa and her team are veterans in this industry so I knew I was in great hands. I found Kohnur through my sister who also hired them for her wedding back in 2014, and despite it being 6 years later, Theresa still recalled this event and greeted me as if there was no time gap! Upon reaching out to her over the phone, she greeted me with so much warmth and assurance that she already had a set of questions to ask me to get gain a better idea of my vision. I knew immediately when I left my trial that Theresa was the one. She's a joy to be around and has such an inspiring vibe! All of my bridesmaids, my mother, and MIL also had their makeup/hair done by her and her team and they all have nothing but praise about their experience! Amazing Hair & Makeup Services for Brides!

Working with Theresa and her team (especially Fennie) was absolutely a great experience for me. I was clueless on what styles of hair and makeup I would want for my engagement session, tea ceremony, and the wedding day. Theresa took her time to learn about me personally and my vision of the wedding during my consultation to guide me the styles would look best for me. She also handpicked the lead artist (Fennie) who turned out to be the best artist for me. Fennie did such a great job from engagement session, tea ceremony, to my big day. She created the best version look of myself. She is absolutely amazing. Kohnur team's communication was awesome, responsive, and flexible. It was about 3 weeks before my wedding. I wanted to add my aunt to the package I previously booked. Kohnur added my aunt to the schedule with no problem. And the best thing about doing business with Kohnur is that the artists will come to your location regardless of it's a pre-view trial. It worked best for me and saved me a tons of time. I requested a consultation and I was set up within a day. I talked with Theresa and we discussed what I wanted and everything in between. I was set up with Tokiko for my hair and make up and boy am I super satisfied with Kohnur's services! I just had my engagement photo session and I am already looking forward to the trial session and my actual wedding day! Tokiko was sweet and easy to talk to. Thank goodness I found Kohnur Beauty. When planning my wedding in 2019, I wanted to make sure I found an HMUA that had experience working with my features (almond eye shape, dry skin, thick hair) so I did a lot of research.

My correspondences with Theresa and my hair and make-up trial with Fennie went great! They were easy to work with in tweaking the look to exactly how I had envisioned and it was so hard to choose between the two beautiful hairstyles we tried.

As the Big Day (February 2020) drew closer, Theresa sent me an organized schedule for hair and make-up for me, my 9 bridesmaids, my mom, mother in law, and sister in law!

Unfortunately, tragedy struck and my husband passed away before the big day and the wedding was cancelled.

Fast-forward a couple of months later and I decided I wanted to gift myself with a bridal photoshoot with as many as the original elements of the wedding we planned. I contacted Theresa and Fennie and I was glad to hear that their COVID-precaution friendly business was scheduled. Fennie remembered and executed my hair and make-up exactly the way I wanted even if our trial was over a whole year ago.

I am so happy I splurged for Kohnur Beauty and will definitely keep them in mind for any future hair and make-up needs

I traveled to Laguna for my wedding and had scoured hair/makeup artists in S. Cali for months. My research was thorough, and I sought someone who is able to provide personalized service and can enhance Asian features. And Kohnur did just that!

Some competitors were unresponsive or impersonal, and others simply provided links to extensive galleries and an array of artists to select from, but it's extremely difficult to make a decision from a cookie cutter approach. Theresa, on the other hand, quickly set up a video call and went above and beyond to get to know me, understand my vision, and provide a thoughtful recommendation. I was nervous and appreciated the hand-held approach. Theresa was very personable and consultative and paired me with lead artist, Tokiko who was wonderful and had expert artistry and skill. We connected so well. During my trial, I felt completely at ease and enjoyed the experience. Tokiko was intuitive, and our session was efficient.

On my big day, Tokiko and Sandy were punctual. Both are patient, detailed, and really care about their work. Tokiko did an amazing job with a natural glam bridal look, and Sandy was an absolute maven working with the mothers (who are not easy) and ensuring their satisfaction. The entire team is kind and wonderful. Kohnur may not be the least expensive provider on the block, but their premier experience and the peace of mind is truly invaluable. I was interested in getting my hair/makeup done professionally done for my engagement session, and had decided to try out Theresa Huang Makeup & Hair. I also figured that this would be a good way to find my beauty team for the big day. I was scheduled to meet with Tina, and I cannot explain how happy I was with the end result! From the very beginning I explained to Tina that I don't wear a lot of makeup and wanted to go for a more natural look. During the entire process, she would constantly follow up about whether or not I liked the look - which is something I really appreciated. I wanted to be very picky about the makeup for my wedding. I've seen plenty of photos of girls who look nothing like they really looked after getting their makeup professionally done and I wanted to make sure I looked like myself on my wedding day. So, as I was trying to figure out exactly where I wanted to get my hair and makeup done, it was comforting to hear from Caroline, Theresa Huang's studio manager, that their goal is to enhance the natural beauty of their clients, so they don't even believe in before and after pictures. The amount of care and precision that Caroline took into consideration in trying to pick the perfect artist for me really impressed me and I immediately booked.

Tokiko was my makeup artist. We first had preview on the day of my engagement photo shoot. She took about 4 hours, but she really wanted to make sure she got every detail perfectly. For example, one of my eyelids is bigger than the other, and somehow she cut tape and placed it perfectly such that it would make my eyelids look the same size. I didn't even know that was possible! She tried 2 hairstyles on me and I picked the one I liked the most. I couldn't have been happier with how my makeup looked, at least so I thought. Then came the wedding day and somehow, she did an even better job! I received so many compliments for how beautiful I looked the day of my wedding and I couldn't agree more. And honestly, one of the best parts was that after the day was over and I went to take off my makeup, it didn't feel like a disgusting amount. Of course there was a lot of makeup, but I didn't feel like I was taking pounds of it off my face.

Honestly, I couldn't be happier with Caroline and Tokiko and I would recommend Theresa Huang's studio in a heartbeat!

I did my engagement shoot and wedding hair/makeup with Tokiko and absolutely loved her. She did such an amazing job with both events and I got a ton of compliments from family and friends. The trials for both were also really enjoyable and it's clear that Tokiko has amazing artistic talent. Also, her two assistants for the day of our wedding were so great with the moms and kids and sisters, and overall getting ready with them was one of the highlights of my wedding day.

Tokiko and her team really understand how to do asian makeup and knew how to create a polished but natural look, which was what I was going for. She is also flexible and listens to any suggestions that I gave. She suggested airbrushing for me, which I would highly recommend to any bride because it feels so much lighter and looks seamless.

In addition, the studio in Pasadena is very cute and convenient to go to. And the staff members are all very sweet and friendly. I can't say anything but good things about this team. Hopefully I can use their services again soon!

I was so happy with my hair and makeup team from Theresa Huang Studio! Leading up to the wedding day I had a preview session where I got to meet Theresa and her premier artist Tokiko. We came up with my look together and I was so happy they understood the fresh and natural look I wanted!

On the day of the wedding, the hair and makeup artists were very punctual and professional and were great about listening to what each of my bridesmaids wanted. I am so lucky to have found Theresa Huang’s studio and to have worked with Aveline for my wedding in San Diego. Planning the wedding from the East Coast, I didn’t have time for a trial with Aveline. But based on the beautiful photos on the studio’s website, it was clear their stylists are skilled with creating absolutely gorgeous looks, and expert with Asian hair and skintone. Aveline and I had a great Skype session to “meet” each other and talk about my vision for my wedding look, and I knew she’d be able to create it. She drove down from LA to San Diego for the wedding, arriving on time and with lots of energy. We had a fun time that morning getting my mom and me ready for the big day. I absolutely loved the final look—I chose a half-up/half-down look with light curls and a few crystal pins she was able to incorporate in the back. The airbrush makeup was gorgeous and long-lasting even through the hot San Diego sun and hours of dancing that night. In fact, the look was so flawless and long-lasting I simply slept in the makeup and used that same glam look for my brunch the next day.

I looked and felt gorgeous on my wedding day! And my groom wants me to write that the makeup was gorgeous and elegant, and didn’t take over but enhanced—and he’s the one person I wanted to impress the most so thanks!

I recently got married (this past December) and am so happy that I had Theresa there along with her team on my big day. I had already known about Theresa because my sister had used her services on her wedding day 2 years back. Theresa and her team are just so wonderful, I can't say enough good things about them. Theresa is so talented, and she totally made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. She's such a sweet person too! Makes you feel at ease during the whole grueling (it's a hard life) process!

Theresa and her team are super professional and they make sure that they help you achieve the look that you are going for. My sister's wedding and mine were completely different and the looks that people went for differed as well so Theresa and her team are definitely flexible and able to pull off whatever look you want!

I loved my hair, my makeup, everything! I chose to use Theresa's services because I knew that the makeup wouldn't be caked on, and it would look natural. The wonders of makeup! My makeup lasted the whole night, which was amazing since I was running around and dancing the night away! The makeup never once felt heavy!

My photographer recently sent me my photos from the wedding day and my hair turned out great and the makeup looked awesome!

I hope that in the future I have an excuse to hire Theresa for her services again! (who doesn't like to get done up and feel fannntastic?)

TH Makeup & Hair team was wonderful and did an amazing job for my trial, E-session and wedding. Originally, I booked Monica Chiu for all sessions, but due to her travel Manning was my makeup artist and hair stylist for my E-session. Both ladies achieved my vision and really enhanced my features. It’s always great when your expectation is exceeded. They are great ladies, which helps when you are sitting through 3 hours of preparations. Also, Monica is super talented with lashes, which looked lush and felt very comfortable throughout the wedding. My wedding was on June 9, 2012, which was warm but with airbrushing it kept my makeup perfect.
I felt gorgeous on the day of my wedding and received tons of compliments on my makeup and hair. I would definitely use Manning and Monica for future events. Loved getting all dolled up with them.

Theresa's artists came to the hotel on time and ready to work! We had so much fun getting all the girls and moms made up, and each artist really listened to what each girl wanted, even if it was something we didn't like. they even provided me with a bridal emergency kit that contained things like tissues, qtips, and gum. I love makeup but hate giving up control and letting someone else do it. Most of the time it comes out looking very traditional and cutesy. At the same time, I know how awesome a good makeup and hair artist can make you look. So I went on the search for a good makeup/hair artist. I am so happy I found Theresa and her team. I had my trial with Manning and she was so great to work with. I had my own opinions on what I wanted done and she took that into consideration, plus suggested a few things that I had never tried before and was not sure of. But that was what the trial was for (definitely recommend a trial esp for your big day). And everything she did was great! We did two hair looks and two makeup looks. I had a hard time deciding on which look I liked the best!

On the morning of the wedding, Manning came to my hotel room and was so pleasant and calming. She played music and was easy to chit chat with. I had a change to what kind of curl I wanted in my hair (I had seen something in a magazine recently), and Manning executed it perfectly. The makeup looked so great and flawless, a little dramatic (which I wanted), but still looked like me. I LOVED it. And seriously my family and friends kept asking me if I had extensions in my hair because Manning had made my hair look so full and gorgeous. She also airbrushed my arms, back and shoulders so my skin glowed and looked perfect in my strapless wedding dress.

I highly recommend Theresa and her team. I will definitely use Manning again for a special event. She is highly skilled AND so nice and easy and cheerful to work with! And the hair and makeup looks awesome in the pictures. Makes a real difference to work with a skilled professional that can incorporate your vision and style.

I selected Theresa Huang Make-Up and Hair after reviewing her website and blog. Theresa was already booked on the day of our wedding so she had her Lead Artist Tina work with me during the preview session and wedding day. Tina was amazing and her work was fabulous. She was so calm and caring throughout the entire session (and I must admit I was a little nervous because I don't normally wear a lot of makeup). She was able to look a the pictures I brought and make recommendations that suited my style. We actually did something different on my wedding day than the bridal preview and it turned out amazing. The make up lasted all night and so did my hair. We also had make-up and hair services for the MOB and MOH and had a second artist, Tokiko, work on them. She was also fabulous and everyone liked their hair and makeup.

Overall, the team was fabulous. They were very responsive to my inquiries, showed up on time during the bridal preview and wedding day, and used high quality make-up. Their prices are a little higher than other vendors but I think it is totally worth it. You are paying for their professionalism and experience, which are so important on your wedding day. I would absolutely recommend Theresa Huang Make-Up and Hair (especially Lead Artist Tina) to anyone looking for wedding make-up.

I was married on Oct. 7, 2012 and Monica Chiu and I couldn't have been a better match. How lucky am I?

Here are the reasons why I think it worked out so well for us:
1. We clicked, personality-wise: Monica is a down-to-earth, cut-to-the-chase straight talker. She won't coo at you, she won't play things up. She will tell you how she feels about something and she's confident in her opinion. This instills confidence right away in the client and I appreciated that, especially since I'm not usually a make-up user.

2. I did my homework: I put together my own "board" for Monica to give her a sense of what I was looking for... and she actually looked at it thoroughly! We had a few conversations over email to clarify some things and that meant that during my preview, things came together very quickly. It's important to give the artist as many references as possible (they're not mind-readers!)....but a good artist will "get it" right away and Monica got me and my style so quickly that I ended up using her first preview hairstyle for my wedding look.

3. Professionalism: The day of the wedding is usually hectic. Monica was calm, steady, focused and as a result, I could relax and know I would look great. There was a last minute lipstick color change, a curve ball to our day, but Monica handled it so calmly, even though everyone was calling us to hurry up. I was a bit frantic but she was solid. That made a huge difference. Even my mom was impressed.

I should also mention that we had a second artist, Tokiko, on the day of the wedding for mom's and bridesmaids and she did a great job too - totally polite, patient, and calm too. Everyone looked great.

Overall, I can say I was very satisfied with my experience with Monica. I got so many compliments on the wedding day, I was seriously blushing. I never felt so pretty in my life. Thanks Monica, for such a great memory.

I highly recommend TH and her team. They were VERY flexible with my wedding day timeline even up till the night before. The make up was light and natural unlike some other places I checked out. Christy (my day-of artist) spent a lot of time making me look beautiful. The price is definitely worth every penny!! I will use TH and her team for my next big event. I initially met with Theresa for my trial in April. I had not prepared very well in terms of gathering photos of hair/mu I liked. I only had a general description in mind-- I wanted the makeup to be natural, but wanted my eyes to POP. We went over the look I was going for and she got it spot on! I ended up going with airbrushing, my skin looked flawless and it felt like I had no makeup on.

On the day of the wedding, Theresa and her team (Rachelle, Jenny, and Julie) arrived at our suite right on schedule. We had 7 hair and makeup and 1 cutie pie. They were so fun to work with and extremely professional. Everyone looked AMAZING. All hair and makeup stayed intact the entire day despite the heat and dancing. Our three year old flower girl especially enjoyed the primping experience and Jenny and Julie took such great care of her. She could not stop glancing at her cute reflection in the mirror.

I am so glad I went with Theresa for our hair and makeup. There are so many investments to be made when planning a wedding, but honestly, whats the point if you don't look and feel awesome on your wedding day?

I normally do not wear makeup therefore I had no idea what I was looking for, but was open to anything. For my trial Theresa did a very natural makeup on me which I really loved, and also designed my hairstyle according to my face shape, personality, the look of my wedding dress, and my venue. I wear rigid contact lenses, and what I soon realized was that Theresa invests in excellent makeup equipments. All the brushes that went on my eye hardly made me itch or tear at all, I was quite impressed. She was also able to work with my eyes and placed false eye lashes on me that looked natural and did not hurt. On my wedding day(which was 10/1/11), Theresa and her team arrived on time to my hotel room. Unfortunately the hotel did not provide the high chairs on time, but Theresa and her team quickly adapted to using whatever we can in the hotel room to get everyone’s sessions started on time. By this time, after a trial session and engagement session, I had some idea of what I wanted and Theresa was definitely able to accommodate that. One of my eyes also naturally appear smaller than my other one, and I pointed out to her that from my engagement pictures I can tell the unevenness (my husband says only I notice, but nevertheless). Theresa took a lot of care to even them out and went as far as informing my wedding photographer (Evoke Photography) which angles to better photograph me in order to minimize the unevenness. My hair design was beautiful, even more gorgeous than my makeup trial – I almost regret wearing a veil to cover it up!
Overall Theresa Huang Makeup and Hair Design is very professional and responsive, and Theresa’s goal is always to make you feel beautiful and she definitely succeeds at it. She is on the pricier side, and although I haven’t exactly shopped around, I do believe her excellent services are well worth the price.

Theresa and her team are the best in this area for makeup. I had worked with Theresa and her staff before as a bridesmaid and I was so impressed by her work that she was the first vendor I booked after I got engaged. Theresa was very responsive and helped me pick out the makeup and hair for my engagement shoot and my wedding. We also had to change where we got ready about a week before the wedding, but she said it was no problem and even gave me a refund of part of my deposit because it was 5 miles closer. There were 6 of us getting ready: four bridesmaids, me and the groom and she brought herself and two assistants. We started getting ready at 9~9:30 and we were out the door by 1! Her assistants were really helpful and did touchups on everyone before we left on both hair and makeup. All four of my girls were happy with their hair and makeup which I think is a pretty impressive feat even if my girls aren't that picky. All the guests complimented me and the bridesmaids on the makeup and it was still good well until the night. I didn't consider anyone else and you shouldn't either! Theresa and her team are great!

I was very happy to work with TH Makeup & Hair Design for my wedding. Theresa is great!! She's super-friendly, very honest, helpful and very quick to answer all my questions and concerns. I felt having my makeup and hair done with TH Makeup & Hair Design team was one of the best and most worth it decisions I made. My Artist "CHRISTY" was AWESOME!! During my preview session, I didn't have a specific idea but she was able to give me the look I want. On my wedding day my hair and make-up was just perfected. I was kind nervious, stressed, emotional on my wedding day, Christy was so sweet, friendly, encouraging and calming, which helped me out ALOT!! My mom and my sister were very please with the make-up done by Christy also, and they are so much pickier than me. I would also like to praise Tokiko, my bridemaids, sister in law, mom, loved their hair and make-up also, Tokiko's so gentle and sweet. My wedding was on July 28, 2012 and I would highly recommend Theresa Huang and her team of highly trained professional stylists for hair and make-up. They were very professional and on time for my hair and makeup appointment. All my bridesmaids and moms looked amazing!!! We all looked stunning for the photos. Tina did my makeup and hair, and I absolutely loved it. My skin was not at its best condition on my wedding day, but Tina was able to make it look flawless.

I definitely recommend Theresa for any bride to be, and book her way in advance. I booked her 4 months in advance. In the end what ends up remaining other than memories are the photos......so you need a good photographer and a GREAT makeup artist.

Theresa Huang hair and make up was absolutely fantastic for our wedding (on April 28)! We did a great trial where everyone, including Teresa, was very attentive to what I liked and disliked. I was very impressed with how detailed they were, finessing every part of my hair and make up. Tina was a great stylist and got along well with the bridal party even on the day of, making jokes and helping me stay at ease the entire time. When I first went into finding a makeup artist for my wedding, I was confident that I'd already found my stylist. She came highly recommended to me from someone I knew and when I saw pictures of her work, I was blown away. But then I met the stylist in person and while she was nice enough, we didn't really click. She also charged a ridiculous amount to come to the bride on the day of the wedding. So I started looking elsewhere.

I did extensive research for someone who can do Asian faces/hair and I liked Theresa's work the best. I also liked reading about small extra touches she would do and about her professionalism. Lucky for me, she was available for my wedding day and I booked her right away. When we met in person, I knew I made the right choice.

When I had my trial session, the 3-4 hours passed by very quickly. Theresa was on time and open to hearing about what the bride wants and is not afraid to give you her opinion about what suits you. What I loved the most was that she gave me exactly what I wanted: natural yet major emphasis on the eyes. My fiance was very impressed with my overall look (and he's very picky!!!).

As someone who has extremely high expectations and is very picky, I was a little nervous about the wedding day. Our trial went extremely well and I wondered if she would be able to recreate a look that I'd fallen in love with. Well Theresa went above and beyond and made me look EVEN BETTER than the trial!! My hair and makeup were amazing! And I knew that people weren't just telling me that I looked gorgeous because they were being nice - I heard it so many times and every comment felt genuine. It doesn't sound humble but she made me into a stunning bride.

Her team also made all of my bridesmaids and mother look so pretty. Some of them are generally insecure with their appearances but after Theresa's team's makeovers, they all felt beautiful.

Back to those small touches - Theresa had created a bridal beauty emergency kit for me to use! And it came it very handy with the different changes made throughout the day. Also when I wasn't sure which necklace to accessorize with my dress, Theresa gave the perfect solution: wear one for the ceremony and the other for the reception.

Theresa is really worth the $$ - she is extremely professional and has a great work ethic which can be harder to find these days. She truly cares about making her clients happy and she truly delivers on making you look beautiful.

I thought Theresa Huang and her team were amazing. I had Manning and Monica do the hair and make-up for myself and my bridesmaids. It was one of the best decisions that I made during the wedding planning process. I know this sounds cliche, but by the end of my session, they felt like friends and not just people I had met a couple of hours earlier. They were so friendly AND talented! Everyone in my wedding party, including myself loved their hair and make up. I decided to change my hair style at the last minute and they were very accommodating.

Since I live on the East Coast, I was referred to Theresa from friends who have used her services for their weddings in the past. My fiance and I were having our engagement photoshoot done in Long Beach (where we had our first date) so I decided to find a stylist in the area.

Service was amazing, starting from Caroline who takes care of the communication with clients. I heard back from her immediately after my inquiry and received follow-up emails in a very timely fashion. On the morning of my photoshoot, given neither my fiance and I were from the area, we got a little lost going to the appointment. Theresa was very flexible and accommodating. When I finally found my way into her studio, we sat down to chat about what hairstyle I wanted and I showed her 2 pictures. She gave me an opinion of what she thought would look better (hey, she's the expert) so I went with it. Over the course of the next 3 hours, I felt like I was becoming a movie star! Theresa's technique is very interesting in that she doesn't have a step-by-step process. She works on 1 part and moves on to the next, then comes back based on her gut feeling...like a true artist! And she isn't afraid of trial and error to reach her end vision. I would say the majority of the time was focused on my makeup to enhance my natural features and she probably spent less than 45 minutes on my hair. However, her skill with hair was absolutely amazing. She's so fast and accurate that my hair looked like she spent hours on it! It looked a little different from the picture, but I felt even better as she knew what I was trying to achieve with my slight retro twist during our photoshoot.

We also had a lot of fun chatting while she was working. Since we both have family back in Taiwan, we were talking about food (obviously!) and places to visit. The vibe in her studio is so relaxed and elegant, I really felt pampered with jazzy lounge music playing in the background.

Sadly, my wedding in August is in Northern CA or else I would've loved for Theresa to do my hair and makeup all over again! So now I'm in search of someone who is just as talented as her (which is like finding a needle in a haystack!). Highly recommend Theresa to anyone who's looking for someone in the LA area. If anyone has recommendations for a stylist up north, please let me know too!!! =)

The makeup/hair stylist team on the wedding day was great! They were prompt, organized, efficient, and friendly. All the bridesmaids were happy with their hair styles and makeup and I was extremely pleased with my hair and makeup. It was flawless and I felt beautiful. We also had a busy schedule but the team was able to get everyone done on time!

At first I thought Theresa was out of my price range so I tried another makeup artist. But I was unhappy with that other makeup artist after my trial. I felt like I didn't look like myself and that the makeup artist, while good, made a common mistake with my eyes. Theresa worked with me on my budget and I decided she was well worth the splurge. She made none of the other makeup artist's mistakes. Instead, she created the perfect dewy, dreamy look I wanted. I looked like myself but the most beautiful version of me! She also worked on my bridesmaids. I was worried she might be only good at working with Asian women. I am Caucasian with pale skin and light hair. My bridesmaids included two Caucasian women with pale skin and dark hair and one Latina. She did an amazing job with each ethnicity. Each person had makeup that perfectly fit their best features and their personality. I was absolutely blown away! I was so happy my bridal party felt so beautiful!! And I have never felt so beautiful myself!! Our lovely makeup also lasted the entire day without feeling heavy!

I am extremely partial.... Theresa is and always will be the best Makeup and Hair artist EVER!!! She brought a crew of awesome artists for my special day, and boy... did she make me feel special!!! She was also my sister's wedding makeup and hair artist (3 years ago) and never less to say... she's got a family of clients forever! Oh... by the way, I have never seen a "the day of" makeup planner so detailed and well put together!

Theresa and her team did an awesome job on our hair and make up along with the hair and make up for my bridesmaids during our BIG day! She also did my make up during engagement shoot which is fabulous! She brings a lot of ideas and suggestions that are not overwhelming or pushy. Very easy to communicate with - she answers all your questions and responds to email quickly. And most importantly, she wants you to look even more beautiful than ever! My bridesmaids were also very happy with their hair and make up.

I love her hair and make up style... We felt like a Hollywood Celebrity! :)
I would absolutely recommend her to a bride who wants professional atmosphere and look exceptionally GORGEOUS.

Theresa and her team did an amazing job for my mother, bridal party, and of course myself! I loved how my makeup looked and loved even more how it looked in pictures and video. And my hair was awesome! Theresa and her team were on time and really knew how to make me look extra special without piling the makeup on thick. It was very natural which is exactly what I was looking for.

Oh, and a few weeks prior to the wedding, when I had my preview session, I went out to dinner with my sister after and random strangers kept complimenting me on my hair and makeup!

Theresa and her team are awesome!

A week before the wedding, she sent me a timeline of the day so I knew exactly what to expect. She and her team arrived on time the day-of and went to work straightaway. My bridesmaids and I had such a fun time getting our hair and make-up done; her team was extremely professional, but also incredibly friendly and fun to hang out with. The team and my bridesmaids were all cracking jokes and having a great time.

I loved how my hair and make-up turned out. Theresa gave me a touch-up kit and told my maid of honor how to reapply my blush/lip gloss if necessary, but I didn't need it at all! The make-up stayed on for the entire afternoon and evening (and that's through typical August SoCal weather, so that's saying a lot!).

Theresa was one of my favorite vendors to work with during my wedding. I couldn't recommend her more.

Manning is the best hairstylist that I have ever had! She is very professional, very talented and is a lot of fun to work with. All the styles that she created for my wedding entourage was absolutely beautiful! She also did a great job with my hair. She did a beautiful romantic hairstyle and I wanted it to be secure since it was going to be a long day. It lasted all day and I didn't even need to use the touch up kit. If I ever need my hair done again, she is the first one that I would contact. Also, Theresa's company is absolutely wonderful. They are all professional and also a joy to work with. Don't let the pricing of Theresa's services scare you. She is priced higher than the other make up artists in the area but she is definitely worth the price! My preview session went extremely well. I was provided 3 different hair styles to choose from and Theresa was very helpful in helping me decide what looked best on me. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease about looking my best for the single most important day of my life thus far.

I have had hair and make up done by another make up team for a friend's wedding back in April and all I'm going to say is you get what you pay for. I think the extra money you have to shell out for Theresa and her team is 'insurance' for looking your absolute best in person AND on you wedding pictures. My hair and make up was great during the preview, but how she took care of me on the day of my wedding was beyond perfection. Her work is not overly done up and has a very natural feel, she has the talent to make you more beautiful than you think you can be and still look like yourself!

I got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooo many compliments on my hair and make up on my big day and not to sound full of myself, I thought I looked freaking HOT as a bride. I only had her do my look first thing in the morning and everything still looked pretty much the same at the end of the night. The make up was so pretty that I didn't want to remove it!

Theresa and her team was very professional and attentive to our needs and likes. They provided me with the beauty schedule about a week prior to the wedding for review and approval. The team showed up ON TIME, if not a little earlier. They made sure everyone was satisfy with the way they look before they sent us off to the venue. We were right on schedule for our event and everyone was happy. Most importantly we all looked pretty awesome!

I would definitely recommend Theresa and her team to all my friends and anyone who is looking and considering The TH team! Thanks again, Theresa for your beautiful work and I look forward to working with you again in the near future!

I'm glad Theresa and I did a trial session, so I was able to determine whether I liked her style. She is very contemporary and not old-fashioned, which I liked. We definitely jived together, and she tells you like it is. It was important to me to not look too cake-y and to look good when people were up close to me, while at the same time having enough makeup to show up in photos. I did airbrush make-up, which I thought was well worth it. Also, my bridesmaids also all looked great. I would definitely recommend Theresa to other brides.

Theresa's team did an amazing job providng makeup and hair services for me, my bridal party, mom, and mother-in-law. I did a preview session with Monica a few months before my wedding. She was great to work with! She was very understanding and listened to what I want and the style I was looking for. She also provided helpful suggestions on my hair style that best fit my dress and wedding style.

On the day of, Monica and the rest of the makeup team was on time and organized. They went right to work and stayed on schedule with the day of timeline. Theresa's makeup/hair team did a great job on my bridesmaids hairdos. Their hairstyle was a great fit to the overall bridal attire and accessories.

Monica did a fabulous job on my makeup and hair. It was exactly the look I wanted and it was very similar to my look at the preview session. I truly felt like a beautiful bride. I definitely recommend Theresa Huang's makeup and hair design to all brides-to-be!

I had Manning do hair and make-up for me and my MOH. I am so happy with how it all turned out. Our hair and make-up lasted all night, even with all the hugs and kisses that we received. I was sure someone would accidentally knock down my side bun while hugging but it stayed put! Manning is so cheerful and positive. I was a nervous wreck before she showed up to my hotel room. Her great attitude and make-up magic helped me feel so much better. She is the sweetest person and totally talented.

It can be awkward to have someone sitting so close to your face, working on your make-up for so long but not with Manning. She made me feel at ease and very comfortable. If I won the lottery, I would pay to have her do my make-up and hair every day!

Theresa changed the way I do makeup.

I first met Theresa 8 months ago when I was searching for the perfect makeup artist for my intimate courtyard wedding in Santa Barbara. She came highly recommended by a friend who got married 2 years ago at the St. Regis. We hit it off right away and after the trial session, I knew she was the one for me. Her work is very elegant and timeless, which is exactly what I wanted. I did a photo shoot after my trial session and everything came out beautiful. It was just lovely.

I fell in love with her work that I decided to take private makeup lessons. After all, a woman needs to look great not just on her wedding day, but also everyday, right? My now-husband compliments on my makeup every time I wear it. It looks natural and makes my eyes pop. I love it.

On the big day, Theresa was amazing and my hair & makeup was flawless. My husband's jaw dropped when he first saw me. That truly was a priceless moment. Throughout the whole night, everyone kept telling me how beautiful I looked, including some of my overly-critical relatives (you know the type). The makeup lasted all day (12 hours) and despite a few teary moments, it did not run or smear one bit.

All in all, Theresa is a talented artist who goes above and beyond for her brides and I will definitely recommend her to all my friends. Thanks again, Theresa, for making me a beautiful bride and also for teaching me makeup!

Theresa was great! She was hired as my engagement photo makeup artist and the photos were turned out so beautiful, then I decided to hire her for my big day. She understands my expectations and has a great taste of the fashion. On my wedding day, she and her assistant arrived on time and did a great job. Every bride-to-be knows that weddings can be VERY expensive... so you need to carefully pick and choose what to spend your money on. Makeup and hair are very important, because you will see it in all your photographs and your guests will remember how beautiful you looked that day. With that said, you must consider Theresa Huang and her carefully trained hair and makeup stylists for the big day.

I booked a preview session with her lead artist, Manning - she listened to and acted on all my concerns and preferences, and made great suggestions to suit my bridal gown perfectly. We decided on a specific look during the preview session, which she implemented flawlessly on the day of. She and another artist, Nicole, were also hired to do my bridesmaids' and mom's hair and makeup on the wedding day, and both of them were very professional and fun to work with at the same time. They did a great job as my bridesmaids were very happy as well.

Theresa's style is natural beauty - she and her stylists will beautify and enhance your natural features, and give you that dewy glowing look that every bride should have!
