Fantastic, helped with tight timeline! 10/10

I had a fantastic experience with the White Gown team! Nela made my shopping experience relaxed and fun—she quickly understood my style and brought out lots of fun options. She was super respectful of my smaller budget. I was on a tight timeline (visited the shop in June and was getting married early Dec), but they listened to my worries and reassured me they could and would make that work. They did! They even moved my final fitting with their in-house tailor up a week when I needed it. They gave me great advice on transporting the dress as well. Loved that it was a more boutique, smaller feel and that they had such a fun variety of dresses. Booking appts was easy unlike many other stores!

I traveled all the way to Brooklyn for every fitting (I live in DC) because that is where I happened to find the perfect dress. I could have bought it somewhere else but one of the sales ladies (Erica, I believe) had helped me pick it out. I was set on an all lace dress but she introduced me to my beautiful lace/chiffon combo dress. I had also read that the seamstress was great and she definitely did turn out to be.

I had a wonderful experience at the White Gown. They had a wide range of options for being a smaller boutique. I found my dress after trying on about 3 others. The staff is extremely kind and calm as the whole process of finding a dress can be nerve-wracking. I had to have my dress shortened and have some boning put in the bodice. All the alterations were done well and on time. I should also say that I had lace work on my gown which had to be moved and altered and the seamstress did such an incredible job, the dress didn't look as if it had been touched at all!
I'm almost sad I don't have an excuse to go back anymore!

Loved The White Gown! I didn’t want to go to any large stores where it would be chaotic. The White Gown is a tiny boutique in Manhattan. I believe they only see 2 brides at a time. I purposely went during a Hayley Paige trunk show since I knew that’s what I was most interested in. I didn’t plan to purchase my dress the day I went but I got a trunk show discount. I also got the matching veil. I knew all along I wanted something non traditional for my dress, and the Hayley Paige Kellan dress ended up being perfect! However I ordered my dress over a year in advance and there was one day I second guessed my decision. I called the shop crying asking to come try it on again as well as a different dress I had my eye on and they were so nice and accommodating. It was super convenient for me to purchase my dress in the city and be able to have my alterations there as well.

Love this darling boutique. Erica made the whole experience for me. I won my wedding dress from this vendor after entering their Valentine's contest. I felt like I'd spent thousands of dollars with the way they treated me through the entire process. The dress was a HUGE hit and I felt amazing. I also purchased my veil after hunting for bargains. Wish I wouldn't have wasted my time because once I saw their selection the quality was above and beyond other shops I visited. Thank you for all!

The perfect shop to find your dress.
I had the best experience at the White Gown in Brooklyn. The staff was consistently wonderful, every single time I was there. Not only was the staff who helped me find my dress kind and helpful, their seamstress was so pleasant and talented! They have a beautiful selection of dresses of all different styles. I am so happy that I walked by their store after visiting a friend and decided to make an appointment. They give you personal attention, unlike some of the larger stores I visited in the city. I recommend them to everyone!

I ordered my dress from The White Gown and was really impressed with the service I received. They have a unique way of making you feel very special. They have time to listen and understand you and I cannot recommend a visit to see them highly enough. Keely, in particular was really great and made the whole experience very special. I have to admit I was apprehensive about finding THE dress but Keely made me feel so comfortable and helped me find the style that was right for me. The service was fantastic and compared to the other shops I visited, The White Gown was by far the best. If you want to have a great experience finding the right dress, I really recommend The White Gown.

Great wedding dress salon and seamstress

We went to 5 salons in one weekend to look for a wedding dress, and The White Gown was where I found my gown during a trunk sale. The staff were friendly and easy to work with. The seamstress was also wonderful and did great work on my gown over the course of three visits. I would highly recommend The White Gown for a more relaxed wedding dress shopping experience.

To make a long story short, I flew in from Afghanistan and had no dress 10 days before my wedding. The day we went to the White Gown was rainy, cold, and miserable- which fit my mood exactly. The receptionist wasn't very enthusiastic when I explained why my budget was $500 (I already bought a dress which was ruined- another long story) and that I needed a dress TODAY. So, when I met my consultant, I was pretty disinterested and basically said “Look, here’s my situation and I don’t think you can help me so let’s not waste our time.” Emily patiently invited us to the fitting room, asked me some questions and went to find a dress. Still skeptical, I was stunned when Emily walked in with six dresses, all gorgeous, all in the style I asked for. WOW. And because I was getting married in 10 days (in Arizona, mind you), they were able to sell me a floor sample and a veil. Total cost $512.

Although the dress itself was beautiful, I give full credit to Emily. She’s a rock star. I don’t even know how she came back with six dresses because I’m not a person who fits into everything easily. She spent time helping me in and out of the dresses, gave her honest opinion on which dresses were flattering, etc. When I finally chose my dress (can you imagine that I even had choices?!), she went over the dress with me, showed me the flaws that i didn't even see and told me which areas I had to get my seamstress to fix and which areas to point out to the dry cleaner. I left the White Gown feeling awesome. I highly recommend the White Gown (and Emily) to anyone looking for a dress, although i don't recommend waiting until 10 days before your wedding. A big thank you to the White Gown and to Emily!!

Folks, I looked good. I looked damn good in my wedding dress. The pictures I've seen so far don't even do my gown justice, IMO. I have Erica and Siobhan to thank. I walked into this dress shop a few weeks after getting engaged and although I could picture almost every aspect of our wedding, I had a huge mental block on the dress. I had some ideas of what I didn't want (sequins, ballgown) and was pretty sure I wanted lace - and by the way can it look vintage and fun and modern? This was no short order. The first dress Erica had me try on was the dress I bought that day. And Siobhan's amazing talent for taking my dress to the next level (adding removable straps, putting in a sweetheart neckline, widening the hips so it would lay just right as I stood, plus many, many other changes). Ladies - thank you for making me feel and look perfect!

This is a great wedding dress boutique. I was looking for a reasonably priced dress (less than $1500) and this place had a large selection. Not only are there affordable gowns, the White Gown looks like a nice high end boutique. The space is really nice and the dressing rooms are quite large. Coming here, you're guaranteed to get a really good wedding dress shopping experience. Erin helped me find my gown and she was wonderful. Really helpful and not pushy at all. Everyone in the place has a very calm air about them which is very soothing. They were really good about helping me book my appointments, sending me reminders, and accommodating to my schedule. Overall great place and I'm very happy I bought my dress from them.

I went to a few other places before visiting The White Gown including David's Bridal, RK Bridal and another independently owned shop. And all had their pluses and minuses, but the White Gown was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. It's a small shop but has a lot of charm, seating for your crew is comfortable, the dressing rooms are large and they supply a robe so you can discreetly change in and out of the dresses. My consultant, Melissa, took time to discuss the style I wanted and the venue vibe before pulling a large number of dresses for me to try on. She never lost her good cheer even after I rejected many of the dresses and never pressured me into anything like some of the consultants at the larger stores did. They had a nice selection of designers and styles, and most importantly, she only showed me gowns that fit within my budget, something none of the other salons did. I ended up ordering my dress and veil from The White Gown and couldn't have been happier.

My mother and I both purchased our dresses from the White Gown, and had alterations done there. The shop has a wonderful intimate, cozy feeling with a friendly staff (my consultant Emily was great), and a small but well chosen selection of dresses.

Alterations went off without a hitch and our dresses fit us perfectly!

The White Gown is a cool, down home bridal salon. It's a small, quiet and peaceful place to shop. The bridal consultants are young, hip women. There are no gimmicks and no pushy sales tactics. It was a pleasure shopping for my daughter's gown there. And the seamstress was fantastic! If your looking for a chill shopping experience, the White Gown is the place. It was so worth the trip to Brooklyn from Westchester!!

Everyone was so helpful and wonderful! I ended up getting my whole look here; my gown, veil, shoes, earrings and headband! I loved it! It is also in such a cute area of Dumbo that was fun for each day trip. :)

I picked my dress from a sample sale the store was having. I had completely different styles of dress that I liked and was having difficulty making the decision. The staff was nice and helpful and took her time to let me think of the wedding I am picturing. Finally I picked a gorgeous dress with full beads work on the bodice that needed a lot of alterations. The seamstress at the store has outstanding skills and fitted the dress with all the beads work adjusted into my size. It was the perfect dress the I wished for.

I did not get my dress here (I'm SUPER picky) BUT still wanted to say how great this place was. From the second I arrived, Marie was very nice and very helpful. She chose gowns that flattered my figure and were within my price range. She even chose a couple of dresses that I wouldn't have thought to look at but I liked that as it helped me see beyond my preferences. Overall, I had zero issues with this place from making the appointment to trying the gowns on. Everyone was absolutely fantastic!

On Saturday (2/8/15) I went into The White Gown with my sister and we had the pleasure of having Pauline our attendant. I was very nervous since this was my first time looking for a wedding gown. Absolutely everything about my appointment was amazing, Pauline sat with my sister and I for a few minutes just talking and getting to know me before she even started talking about dresses. Once we started to talk, Pauline completely listened to everything I said I wanted in a dress. The first dress I tried one was the one! I couldn’t believe it. I still wanted to see more dresses to be sure. Pauline never pushed or made me feel pressure. She was kind enough to allow my sister and I to have time alone to talk about the dress and just made me feel so comfortable. After trying on about 4 more dresses, we put "The Dress" back on and Pauline and Marie, the manager, came in with a veil for me to see a completed look.
Once the veil was on, it hit me. That was my dress!! I said Yes To The Dress right on the spot and could have never been happier. I cannot express enough how wonderful Pauline made me feel. She is truly a gem and just such a wonderful person. She truly made the experience for me.

As months went on and I had my fittings, Pauline and Slubia, the seamstress, were so wonderful. They made me feel like I was the only person in the bridal shop. They personalize the service and make you feel like the most beautiful bride. Slubia tailors the dress exactly the way you want it and doesn’t push for the look to be something different. I would use her for all of my tailoring if I could! I will be forever thankful for her helping make my Wedding Dress Dreams come true!

I love this place! It's small, so it's pleasantly intimate and you don't have to wade through nine thousand dresses only to try on five.

When I first showed up, I didn't love anything I found. But I left with the names of my dresses and saw that three were from the same designer (Theia). I looked on that website, found a dress I LOVED, and asked the White Gown if they carried it. They didn't, but they said they'd get it for me -- and they did!

Every experience with them has been lovely -- I haven't been rushed, exposed, judged, or hustled out the door once.

I highly recommend them!!

I visited The White Gown back when it was located in DUMBO and though I miss having this little gem in Brooklyn, it is a wonderful bridal salon. The women there are so pleasant and helpful! I bought my dress over 1.5 years ago and my helper was Emily! I love love love Emily. If you want to find beautiful dresses and have a pleasant experience, this is the place!

Really great appointment here. I had just had a terrible appointment earlier and was feeling a bit raw. But as a plus size bride, they made me feel comfortable and helped me try on many different dresses. While I didn't purchase my dress here, I absolutely recommend going as it was a wonderful experience and I almost did purchase here.

I always wanted to go to a bridal boutique rather than a David's Bridal for my wedding gown so when I finally got engaged I searched around and found The White Gown! Being from Brooklyn made my experience more enjoyable knowing I bought my wedding dress from a Brooklyn Boutique. The location is great. It was the first boutique I went to and I really enjoyed all the attention the staff was giving me and my sister when we came for our appointment from the first time I stepped foot in The White Gown till I picked up my dress before the wedding. They were so knowledgeable when it came to designers that made me so confident when explaining what style I wanted. I bought my veil there as well and I definitely couldn't be more happier with the service your staff has provided me!!! I would recommend them to everyone of my friends and family. My seamstress Shioban was amazing. She fit my dress to my body so well that it looked like my dress was made just for me! All NYC brides should check out The White Gown. You won't be disappointed!

This was actually the first shop I went to when looking for my wedding gown. At the time, this place was located in DUMBO, but they have since moved to midtown a few blocks from Grand Central. At first, I was not looking forward to trying on numerous gowns before finding THE ONE. Luckily, the staff was very attentive and listened to all my "wants" and needs. My best friend and I were shocked to find the dress during my first visit!

If your looking for a unique dress at a bargain price... go to the White Gown. You won't regret it!

Great experience!

I had been to several bridal salons prior to The White Gown but ultimately purchased my dress here. It's a small boutique so we had a very intimate shopping session here which was great. They were so accommodating and walked me through the entire process carefully. I went to a few other shops and they were no where near as helpful or transparent with pricing and the process. I came here knowing exactly which dress I wanted so my experience was a little different than others. I came here because they had the dress I wanted closer to the color and fabric option I wanted. Even though it wasn't exact, they showed me with multiple dresses on what it would be and even contacted the manufacturer to confirm which colors and material were the ones I needed. Everything worked out perfectly!

So much better than a warehouse experience, we loved working with Emily and the staff at The White Gown. We were at their cute little boutique in Brooklyn (I believe they moved), and enjoyed the entire process. Our daughter knew what she wanted, tried on other options, and though she didn't find the exact dress she was looking for, found one that was made by the same designer and looked exquisite not only in the boutique but on her wedding day. The whole process was fun, easy, and professional. Emily wrote our daughter a personal note after our visit - who does that any more? It was the touch of a classy boutique, and I loved it. I hope their new location gives the same boutique vibe - truly a wonderful experience.

The White Gown to the rescue! The one-on-one service is key and their selection of dresses is fantastic. I absolutely loved my dress from the White Gown and really liked working with this business. The other stores I visited were very pushy in trying to get me to buy the dress right away, even though I wanted to wait a few weeks until my mom was in town. The White Gown was much more laid-back and made me feel at ease. The seamstress did a great job and was so nice to me and my sister each time we went for the fitting. I definitely recommend this store to any bride in Manhattan!

The perfect wedding dress!

Found my perfect wedding dress at the white gown! They have so many options and also the team there is so great at helping you work through your ideas and visions. It's great to go in with an idea of what you like - but they are great at helping you pull some really amazing options.

Also, they worked my shorter than desired timeline for wedding dress alterations and also helped me create some additional components to my dress that I really loved!

I loved getting my dress at this store. They staff was so friendly and really worked around my schedule. The women were so cheery and made me and my then fiance feel so comfortable. They have a wonderful selection from dress, hair pieces, belts, you name it.

Great shopping experience!

The White Gown was the first of two appointments I scheduled for my first time trying on wedding dresses. I went in to the day with the goal of narrowing down what shape and style I wanted, but the White Gown was so fantastic that I ended up buying my dress-- and it was the fourth dress I tried on! They have an amazing selection at great price points. I had done a lot of research, but the dress I bought was not one I had ever seen before. Christiane really listened to me, understood my style immediately, and knew exactly which dress was perfect for me. I kept trying on other dress and styles because I didn't think I could really have found the dress so quickly, but kept being drawn back to it. She is truly amazing! I have not yet gotten my dress in for alteration, but will update when I do.

I highly recommend visiting The White Gown and if you can, ask to meet with Marie. She helped me find the perfect wedding dress and veil within my budget. After initially purchasing the dress I came across the designer website that showed the style# in a different dress shape/style than what I had initially tried on and ordered... I contacted Marie to check with her and within 24 hours she had reached out to the designer and had gotten back to me to ensure that I would be getting exactly what I had wanted. I also had my alterations done at The White Gown and the dress ended up fitting perfectly on the big day. The service, responsiveness, and professionalism at The White Gown is excellent.

I live in VA, but my mom and sister live in NY, so we planned a dress shopping day in the city! The White Gown was our last stop of the day, and I am SO glad that we went! The store is a little hard to find from the street, but once we got upstairs we were greeted with such warmth from the staff, that I knew it was going to be a fun appointment. The dressing room/seating area was HUGE, which made the appointment feel private and comfortable. Since I had already tried on dresses at two other stores, I narrowed down what style I was looking for. Pauline did a WONDERFUL job finding dresses that fit the style I mentioned, that were also within my budget. After trying on a few dresses I saw Pauline bring an additional dress into the dressing room, and I knew that was going to be the one! She picked out the PERFECT dress for me, and I am so excited to wear it in May!

From the moment I first walked in, I knew I would be able to find "my" wedding dress. I showed them some photos of dresses I liked, described the look I was going for, and the budget I was trying to stick with, and they quickly brought dresses that fit my description perfectly. Dress after dress, they let me take my time in seeing myself in it, seeing the different ways to style it to be my own, and how to make it look perfect for me. The dress I chose was everything I imagined I would look like on my wedding day, and the in house fittings made the process of getting it ready for the big day easy and seamless. I knew it was a hit, by the look of my husband's face when he saw me in it for the first time, and from all of the compliments I got from my guests. I wish I could get married again just so I can try on more dresses there!

Loved this place. It was recommended to me by a friend, and found my experience to be just as great as hers. I had a different idea of what I wanted when I arrived to try on gowns, but the sales associate pulled a variety of gowns that offered that drapey, chiffony look I wanted, plus some in different silhouettes that she thought would look good on my body type with that same romantic aesthetic. The gown I ended up choosing was one of her picks - I loved it! She was also great at dealing with my opinionated mother who accompanied me :) The ordering and fitting process was easy, breezy, and I loved that they sent email reminders for my appointments. 100% recommended!

I am a bride that was not truly excited to go wedding dress shopping. I am not your typical girly girl and have not dreamed of my wedding dress since I was a little girl...I was not sure how comfortable I was going wedding dress shopping in New York wedding gown shops and boutiques!

I contacted The White Gown to make an appointment and from that initial phone call they put me at ease. I made my appointment and before they got off the phone with me they just let me know that they were having a clearance sale that Thursday and Friday. I was originally not going to go to the sale but decided to stop by on my way to work.

I ended up trying on some of the dresses and everyone at The White Gown was amazing! They were so helpful in directing me in to the different styles they had available and what I had in mind. The sales women helping me brought over a dress that was not exactly what I thought I wanted but she thought it would look good on me. The dress zipped up and looked amazing and I fell in love! The sales woman was so amazing and helpful since I was there by myself...
The manager came over and saw me in the dress and brought over a sash that was absolutely perfect with the dress...the sash was not on clearance but the manager gave it to me on clearance because she thought it was so perfect together.

As I was leaving still in shock they helped me through timing on the few alterations that I would need (bustle, enhancing the sweetheart neckline). Once it was time for the alterations they were just as wonderful and responsive.
The element of customer service that sticks out to me the most is how wonderful and down to earth they all were. I was slightly intimidated shopping for a wedding dress in NYC. The White Gown were friendly, profession, and you can tell that every single one of them is passionate about helping the bride look absolutely beautiful on their wedding day.
I would recommend them to any bride!

I bought my dress here and I am so happy I did! I am from out of town, but it was never a problem for them to ship me my dress and never complained that I was not getting my fittings done in-house. They have a lot of dresses to choose from and they are all at a reasonable price.

I suggest looking at their website before you go and browsing through the designers they offer... thats what I did and I knew exactly what dresses to try on when I walked in the store.

They were extremely helpful, very responsive, and shipped my dress quickly. Two thumbs up!!

Five stars all around for the White Gown - they were fabulous from start to finish.

I'm not a Kleinfeld's kind of girl, and didn't have a $5,000+ budget for a wedding dress. It was no problem at the White Gown - they found plenty of styles for me to try that were well within my budget with absolutely zero judgment or nudging upwards on the price point. I definitely didn't feel the same condescension that I felt at several Manhattan boutiques - the associate Erica was friendly and offered helpful suggestions without a hint of snootiness or upselling.

The alteration process was also seamless (pun unintended!). The White Gown always sent confirmation emails to remind me about the visits, and I had 3 in total to take in the sides, put in bust cups, and sew in a French bustle. The seamstress was awesome and I actually looked forward to seeing her each time I went in! I was really impressed by her talent and enthusiasm for making my dress look great.

Overall every part of my experience at the White Gown was great and I would definitely recommend them!

I'll admit I didn't go to that many dress shops before I went to The White Gown - maybe just a couple before that. But I really couldn't have been happier with my experience there, which was much better than at the other shops I went to. First off, I was on a budget. Siobhan, who helped find my dress, never brought me a dress over my budget. I really appreciated that. Everywhere else I had been, I was shown dresses well over my budget, and they acted like my budget was too low. I was extremely impressed with the number of dresses they had that were both in my budget and in the style I wanted. It seems like a small, intimate shop (another plus), but the selection was great. Siobhan was very patient, listened to my feedback, and just kept bringing more dresses. In the end, I got a dress that I loved that was well below my budget, but looked like it cost a lot more money. TWG also did the alterations, which came out perfectly. I highly recommend the White Gown.

The White Gown listened to what I was looking for and brought me dresses to try on that were an array of prices, but none of which went over my budget. I did not feel one speck of pressure to raise my budget in order to get what I wanted, like some other places out there. I ended up with the most perfect dress for myself. The consultant was very attentive and she picked out many different dresses in different price ranges but, never over the price I wanted to pay. She was very detailed and knowledgeable. She would explain the style and concept of each of the dresses that I tried on. I bought my wedding dress from this place. Since I was from out of state, and wouldn't have the alterations done there. She explained in detail the necessary alterations required.

I went to a sample sale and found an amazing deal. The staff was incredibly helpful and the seamstress was excellent. I wish I had waited a little longer for my final fitting because I lost weight (as brides do I suppose) and wish my bodice had been taken in a little bit.

I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, sister (MOH), and grandmother. We spent the morning visiting a few different bridal salons in the city, not really finding anything I really loved, let alone really liked. The White Gown was our last appointment of the day, and my grandmother needed to leave earlier than expected. I called to move my appointment up, and they said they didn't have the availability. I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to visit the salon, and that I didn't find my dress. A few minutes later, they called back and said they would be able to fit me in. I was so excited! We headed over to the salon where they assigned one of their staff to us and set us up on their couches. The experience was so great! The girl who helped me was attentive, patient, and pulled dresses out that fit within my budget. I honestly loved everything I tried on, it was a matter of narrowing it down to what was perfect for me.

When I finally chose "the" dress, I couldn't be happier with my selection and I LOVED it even more when it came in my size. The seamstress worked with me to make it the dress of my DREAMS! She was incredible and I loved how I looked on my wedding day.

I am glad that I received top notch service for alterations, because it was very expensive. I definitely could have taken the dress somewhere else for less expensive alterations, but I'm glad I didn't.

The White Gown is a gem in the midst of hundreds of NYC gown shops. I am so happy I found The White Gown on yelp, because from the moment I stepped in the door to the moment I picked up my dress at my final fitting - I had an amazing experience.

Unfortunately I don't remember the names of all of the consultants I worked with.. but everyone there is friendly, nice, and honest. When I went in to look for a dress, I was open to trying different styles but knew I only wanted to try on dresses that fit me. I had some prior negative experiences at other bridal shops with trying on dresses way too small, and having to "imagine what they'd look like in my size." I wear a 10-12 normally, which I don't think is an unreasonable dress size to carry at all!

Every single dress I tried on at The White Gown I loved!! All of the dresses she showed me were at or under my budget ($2,000), and when I chose the most expensive one, she was even able to lower the price a little bit for me!

I had a total of 3 fittings - and every time I went, the seamstress was absolutely amazing. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful and tailored the dress wonderfully. I was nervous because I had decided to change the neckline of the dress to sweetheart, and since I'm only 5'1 the dress had to be shortened dramatically. My dress was covered in hand-appliqued lace with a scalloped bottom, I have no clue how she altered it so seamlessly, but she did! The only negative thing was that my alterations cost over $750... I knew this in advance, but still felt it was a little pricey considering I had no choice but to make the alterations.

I would recommend (and already have) The White Gown to brides of all different body types with all different budgets. I felt so beautiful in my dress on my wedding day and got so many compliments!

This was the second bridal salon that I visited and I loved every moment of this experience. It is located in DUMBO Brooklyn and it has a very personal feel to the store. You are placed in your own room where your guest sit in your personal room as you try on dresses. The woman that assisted me was sooo helpful and never made me feel pressured in anyway.

The owner, John, is wonderful and his biggest priority is making the bride happy and feel beautiful. They had the cutest space in DUMBO behind REBAR, which I enjoyed going to - such a cool funky space. They have since moved, and I haven't seen the new place, but I'm sure it is just a beautiful.

I purchased my gown at one of their sample sales, a great deal! It was a very classic looking dress (similar to ones for $2-3k I've seen elsewhere) for ~$600. Do ask about specifics for alterations when you buy though. Because I am short and the beadwork at the bottom of the dress would have been destroyed by a normal hem, the dress had to be altered from the waist - a lot of work and thus very expensive, which was a surprise I didn't expect.

Their seamstress did an AMAZING job and they worked with me to make sure everything was taken care of. Do your homework on alterations that would be needed and pricing before deciding on a sample - that way there are no unexpected surprises, but know that if you do find a gown you love here, you'll be in very good and caring hands.

Found my dream dress!

This boutique is incredibly quaint and makes for a more personal shopping experience. The sales assistant I worked with the first day was very accommodating and helped me narrow down the kind of dress I wanted. I ended up picking a Hayley Paige dress and can’t say enough good things about this designer! From the beginning, I wanted to pair a bodice from one of her dresses with the skirt of a different dress, and they allowed me to make that switch with a small cost for changing the original design. When the dress arrived, it was absolutely stunning!!! I did have issues with alterations and in the final two weeks before my wedding day, I had to reach out to the Hayley Paige design team to order a new bodice because my original bodice was destroyed in alterations. The designer and The White Gown were so helpful and ended up getting me one and I was able to go to a new seamstress and have it fixed just in time for my big day. Hayley Paige and her entire team truly believe in the magic of love and it comes through not only in her designs, but in how they care for real life brides like myself! I wish I could wear a HP dress every day of my life! I’ve never felt more beautiful! The White Gown stepped up and did the right thing to help me remedy my alterations nightmare and helped me have the dress of my dreams on my wedding day. I highly recommend this boutique but would go to a trusted seamstress that you feel comfortable with.

I loved my entire experience at The White Gown. The store is easy to get to and has flexible hours. It is a beautiful studio in the middle of a warehouse district. The staff is wonderful and I ended up buying a second dress (and the only one I wore at my wedding) because they were so kind and helpful. Their seamstress is an absolute dream. She knew exactly what to do for the construction of my dress, helped me find a place to buy the undergarments I needed, and made everything fit perfectly. She was even able to custom design a veil to match my dress and was flexible in the price for me!

I live in Virginia but had a weekend trip planned to New York last fall, so I wrote to the White Gown to make an appointment while I was in town. Although the salon is difficult to get to from Midtown (long Subway ride or expensive town car rental), it was worth it. The salon is pretty and neat, and I loved that we had a private fitting room big enough to fit my mom, our saleswoman, me and all of the dresses so I didn't have to try them on in front of a crowd. My saleswoman was AMAZING -- she made me feel completely comfortable and had great tips on what to look for. She also pulled several dresses based on what I pointed out in their book, as well as several from the trunk show they were holding at the time. I tried on 2 or 3 gowns that I thought I would like, then ended up falling in love with a gown that wasn't even in my preferred style. The White Gown found a gorgeous belt to make the dress even better, placed my order for the dress, and had the dress shipped to me in Virginia when it arrived so that I wouldn't have to commute to NYC for fittings. Although I didn't use The White Gown's alterations service, I can attest that their shopping, ordering, and mailing services are outstanding! They were very fast responding to all of my (many) emailed questions (who isn't nervous when their wedding gown is being shipped?), made sure we got electronic receipts of everything, and gave us the tracking info for the package so we knew exactly when to be home to sign for my dress. Everything went perfectly, and the dress arrived in perfect condition (hardly any wrinkles even!). I couldn't have found a better salon to buy my wedding gown from. I went to white gown yesterday as my first wedding dress experience and could not be any happier. My consultant was Marie and she helped me find the dress for me on my 1st visit. I gave her pictures of what I was looking for and although I had a budget of $1000 she worked miracles. I must have tried on about 10 different dresses (who knew that many beautiful dresses would be available in that price range in the city!) And she was attentive each time. She also brought dresses I would not have picked myself but I loved once I had them on. I left there excited and feeling like a beautiful bride to be. Everyone there is so attentive and they make you feel as though they are just as excited as you are. As a small shop, I felt like I got a lot of personal attention every time I went in to try on/get fittings. Everyone I worked with was nice, helpful, professional, and good at their jobs. Highly recommend them!

I am so glad I purchased my dress at the white gown. Ermina who was my bridal assistant was awesome. She was so patient with me with my indecisiveness. When I finally chose the gown I felt like Ermina was also truly happy for me. The other ladies who work there are also very helpful and knowledgeable. Even my seamstress was awesome to work with. The White Gown is a small boutique with a fairly small collection of dresses, but what they have really spans the gamut. I got my dress from one of their sample sales (sign up for emails) and it was a steal! Everyone thought I paid much more for it than I actually did. I worked with the same woman from the first day through the final fitting which was a great feeling. She clearly knew what she was talking about and was very honest when I asked her about how different things fit.

They're a small shop so sometimes it's hard to call and get an answer, but they're good about returning calls. I will miss seeing them every few months.

LOVED THEM!

I went to David's bridal, RK bridal, etc.... And a friend suggested I go to the White Gown because that's where she got her gown. I was hesitant because they're a small boutique and I thought a bigger place with more variety would be better. Wrong! I told my associate what I thought I was looking for and ended up getting the 2nd dress she brought me.

THEN, my dress came back way too big. I ended up getting my alterations done there and LOVED the way she made my dress fit me. And they were fast with it too!

Highly recommend.

The White Gown in Dumbo, Brooklyn was a great place to find my wedding dress. After going to a few other bigger boutiques, I really liked the small, intimate feel of The White Gown. The dress I ended up going with from there was absolutely perfect for my wedding, I felt like my consultant really understood what I was going for. I received so many compliments on my dress and many people wanted to know where I found it. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a wedding dress in NYC.

I had tried on 3 dozen dresses before I got here, and this was going to be the last store I tried. And it sure was. After speaking with me for a bit, Erica really got to understand what I wanted and didn't want my dress to be. And the first dress she brought me was "the one". I still have people, strangers even, telling me that my dress was the most beautiful dress they'd ever seen. And it really was. I wish I had gone there first! I did not have my dress altered here, for a few reasons, and I'm really glad I didn't. Let's just leave it at that. Otherwise, the girls were excellent and super knowledgeable.

I bought my dress from The White Gown and got it altered there as well.

I loved my dress shopping experience. I was so nervous and self-conscious going into it, but Emily was amazing to work with -- super friendly, patient, and never pushy. She also had a great eye and brought out some dresses in styles that I never would have considered on my own. In fact, I ended up purchasing one of those "try this and see" dresses.

For alterations, Slubia was also great to work with. She was very knowledgeable and with her experience working on all types of dresses, she was able to give me some suggestions on alterations (what to do about cups vs bra, for example).

My dress turned out lovely and the whole process was so enjoyable. Many thanks to The White Gown!

The White Gown was the last of many dress shops that I visited on my search for the perfect gown. I am terrible at describing what I want in the perfect wedding dress, but they were able to pull the 2 BEST dresses for me in the first go! I could not even decide which one I loved more, they both felt like the PERFECT one for me! Needless to say, I loved how they listened to what I wanted!

I loved my consultant at The White Gown. I'd been to a few bridal shops before this one, and it just felt right at The White Gown. The seamtress at this place is the best. She saw I wasn't sure about the strapless dress, and made me some straps last second as a backup. They were removable so I could decide the day of whether I wanted to wear them or not. I will say this - I was told to buy a dress three sizes up from what I ended up needing and they had to take in the dress a lot. It ended up being a little TOO tight in the back and weirdly gaping in the front because there was just too much fabric. Overall, would recommend.

I was very pleased with my gown. The seamstress was amazing. The staff was generally very helpful and friendly. It was clear that they had a definite interest in making the bride happy. This is a very small boutique, so there were times when I couldn't get ahold of them, or they weren't open when I stopped by (they are by appt. only). For a sometimes jittery bride, that wasn't ideal. But the personal attention and friendliness during appointments made up for this. They were also very good about working with me on appointment times to accommodate my work schedule. The value was also great. I shopped at around a dozen bridal salons and felt that the cost of the dress and alterations was very reasonable.

Finding and deciding on my gown at this boutique was one of the most special experiences of my life. The dress I had decided on was the very first one I tried on! (I made my final decision after trying on several others at various locations of course - but finally circled back to my favorite gown). The staff was very inviting and accommodating. I was always happy when I walked in the door, from the first time I went in to browse, to the final alterations appointment. They have a great selection, and very kind attendants who will help you find exactly what you're looking for.

I bought my dress here. The staff and seamstress were very helpful and professional. My only issue with my dress is that its American bustle kept breaking. I actually prefer French, but we agreed American looked better for this particular dress. Not sure if it was the weight of my dress or not. They taught me how to bustle which was very straightforward, but as soon as I started really moving on the wedding day the button popped. So we kept moving the bustle up. Lost 4 buttons all night. I ended up holding my train most of the time. Seems like something should have been anticipated by the shop.

It´s not a luxurious boutique but they have great staff.

The White Gown was a great vendor to work with. They had reasonable bridal gowns in a range of sizes, including plus and were friendly to work with! There were a few nail-biting moments with the seamstress, but I really couldn't beat the price. Definitely a "bridal" experience and I absolutely adored my dress.

Cute Boutique with Nice Selection

I loved that this boutique was small and intimate and that they still had a good selection of dresses. My dress was perfection and matched my mothers veil perfectly. I could not have found a more amazing dress. I did not enjoy the process for my fitting however. They should absolutely have a sales manager there with you for the fittings to make sure you are 100% happy and they do not do that. If I could do it again, I would take my dress to a more professional wedding dress seamstress. I asked several times for something to be fixed and was told that it could not be done. The dress didn't fit me perfectly like it was made for me but in the end I loved it no matter what. I am petite and needed very little altering but I can imagine if you needed a lot more work done it would not have been as easy. Buy your dress here! But get it altered somewhere else.

Emily was my sales person at this shop. She was FANTASTIC! She made the experience warm and fun for my sisters and I- she was great! However, after purchasing the gown, things went south. I was told Id be contacted to set up my fitting appointments...I never was and finally I had to call them 11 wks before the wedding just to get the process started which resulted in me having to move MY schedule around to take whatever appointments THEY had left. This resulted in me having appointments practically on top of each other. During all this, they were in the process of moving from DUMBO to midtown and didnt do a great job notifying us of this. Amanda was the alterations manager there and she was another bright spot to my experience as she too was awesome and worked so hard to be flexible (she even came in on her day off for my final fitting) and did a great job with my gown. The desk staff however were short and unapologetic when calling a day before I was due for my final fitting to cancel (I am a Phila. area bride that had to coordinate these NY trips) and haphazardly reschedule- again at THEIR convenience. The new site is a wee bit sterile as opposed to the original site's (Jay st) warm and homey feel. AGAIN...Amanda and Emily were amazing, its because of those ladies I gave 5 stars for Quality of service and responsiveness.

The dress I have ordered was very well taken care of. The seamstress was amazing.
They did not call me when the dress came, I had to call to ask. When I went for 1st fitting no one informed me that they have changed the address. I think that they should pay more attention to costumers.

Disappointing

Shopping for a wedding gown is a special time. There was nothing special about the White Gown. To get to the showroom you have to climb 4 flights of stairs in a dirty building. The showroom looks nothing the the photos on their website. Dresses are crammed in a very small space. There is limited privacy for the bride and no place to even walk in a gown. The person working with us was very nice, which was a positive. In the end spending $3,000+ on a gown deserves a much better experience.

I purchased my gorgeous Hayley Paige wedding ceremony gown here with Annie as my consultant. I had just come from a semi-disastrous experience at another store, so I started with a blank slate at The White Gown. I had Annie pull any type of dress she thought would be a good fit for my petite frame. By the 2nd gown, I already found the one. Annie was clearly very experienced and offered some great insight in terms of veil selection and my flip-flopping on adding sleeves to my sweetheart neckline. She was professional and great to work with.

After purchasing my dress, I had it stored at The White Gown until it was alterations time. I was a little apprehensive to begin my alterations there after I read a horrendous review left on Yelp regarding the alterations from another bride who purchased the same dress! Sadly, I felt like my seamstress did not bring her A game. She would mention areas she would fix and then forget to fix them. For instance, at my first fitting, she mentioned adding boning to the top half of the dress for structure and then forgot all about it later on. At my second fitting, my friends had to convince her to tighten the area around my hips (it was a mermaid style!) and she hesitated and tried to dissuade us many times even though we told her over and over this was JUST the ceremony dress and I would not need to sit or dance in it. At the third fitting, she nearly refused to tighten the top of my dress even though I told her it felt loose and that I would feel like pulling it up all night! Only after I insisted did she take it back and fix it.

Overall, The White Gown was a pleasant shopping experience, especially if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere. I'm not sure I can recommend the alterations department so you may be better off looking elsewhere.

I purchased my dress from the White Gown in Brooklyn a year before the wedding. When I went back to have it fitted I wanted a few major alterations done to it- train removed and some of the "pouff" taken our of the hips. They were very accomodating about this and at the 2nd fitting I was very happy with the way the dress looked. I was told that all that needed to be done was the hem finished up and I would be able to take the dress with me at the 3rd fitting. Because of the hurricane I was unable to make it for a 3rd fitting before the wedding and the dress was shipped to my wedding destination. However, when i opened the bag the lace was ripped and the hem was jagged and unfinished. I had to take it to a dress maker 2 days before the wedding to try to use fishing line to fix the lace. Not only was the hem unfinished, but it was still a few inches too long. I spent the whole night stepping on my dress. The wedding was absolutely magical, but getting my dress from the white gown was my only regret.

Stay far away

Literally the most HORRIBLE customer service I've ever experienced, which tragically affected my dress 3 months out of my wedding day. They ordered the wrong version of my dress, did not notify me when it arrived, refused to acknowledge it was their mistake and the whole time insisted I pay the FULL amount before they altered the dress to its "original" form. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and had them try to restore the dress to its original specifications, which resulted in changes that drastically changed the shape of the dress, effectively destroying it. And yet still, Jacob insisted this dress was worth the full original price. To make matters worse, they LIED and said a new dress could not be rush ordered (claiming they checked with the flagship store), but to my surprise when I went to the flagship store, the rush order was "no problem".

This place is absolutely NOT worth the hours of stress and emotional anguish for a few dollars of savings. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY. Truly shocked and flabbergasted at this cheap, unprofessional establishment.

Brides, Please Read Before Purchasing from The White Gown!

I purchased my wedding gown from The White Gown on October 6, 2024, and what followed was months of errors, broken promises, and, in the end, a complete lack of accountability that left me without a dress just days before my wedding.

Over the course of nine fittings, I commuted 1.5 hours each way from New Jersey into Manhattan for every appointment except the final two, which were moved to Hackensack, NJ.

Despite my patience and professionalism, the salon repeatedly failed to alter my dress correctly. At one fitting, no work had been done at all; the same pins were still in place. At another, the bust was several sizes too large, despite no changes in my measurements.

By mid-September, after several failed fittings, the owner admitted their mistakes. During one fitting on 9/25/25, she even ripped the dress while trying to zip it and admitted it couldn’t be repaired. She promised to replace it with the floor sample gown, clean it, and redo my customizations to make it fit properly in time.

Even after taking it to another tailor, the “new” gown still didn’t zip and gaped dramatically in the bust. The tailor said it would have to be either too tight in the back or too loose in the front.

The owner then offered to let me try on backup dresses. I cooperated and tried several, settling on one that seemed okay in person, but after reviewing photos, I realized I didn’t like any of them. None resembled what I had purchased, and all felt like last-minute compromises.

When I finally told her I needed to go elsewhere because my wedding was only three days away, she replied that she “needed time to process.” Since then, she has ghosted us completely, ignoring multiple calls, and has not issued a refund or provided any resolution.

After nine fittings, months of travel, and countless assurances, I was left without a wearable dress and had to buy a new gown from another boutique that completed flawless rush alterations in days.

This experience reflects a complete lack of professionalism, quality control, and integrity. I remained calm, gracious, and cooperative through every step, but The White Gown failed to deliver on every promise. Brides- save yourself the stress and disappointment. Go elsewhere.

NO bride should have to go through what I am going through. I am beyond disappointed with White Gown. I was assured that the dress I ordered was going to look a certain way. I spoke with the seamstress, Siobhan before ordering the dress about my concerns. She told me that I had nothing to worry about. When my dress came in, a different seamstress was assigned to me due to Siobhan's busy schedule. The seamstress was awful! She put huge safety pins through my dress, didn't listen to my concerns, and told me that the HUGE wrinkle running through my stomach area was being caused because I "wasn't standing up straight." I asked for Siobhan to work on my dress instead and I was told she was only available once a month because she had another job. No one at White Gown showed that they even cared about how upset I was. I expressed my disappointment and received no answers. When I told them that I wanted to take the dress to a different seamstress outside their facility, they were completely indifferent. This is every bride's worst nightmare. I have brought my dress to a seamstress and she was HORRIFIED by the guge safety pins that White Gown put through my dress. HORRIBLE experience!!!!!

Stay as far as away from this wedding store as possible. Pauline our salesperson was amazing and that is the only thing good about this store. The manager Marie is one of the most unpleasant woman I have had to work with throughout my "bride" experience and I made that clear to Pauline when a few other things didn't feel right to me. I purchased the sample dress, which they charged me FULL price for, because our wedding was so close. I kept the dress at the location with an alteration date set for August 27th. As most brides would be I was very excited, one thing checked off our list until I found out they were allowing other people to try on the dress after we had paid for it in full. When I called the store to confront them, the manager Marie, told me they had ordered me a brand new dress a week ago. When I asked why they didn't call and tell me that they purchased a new gown I received the run around. I asked her if she had known that I had an alteration scheduled with them for August 27th she said she was unaware. When I asked when the dress would come in and what size she told me an 8 and she had no idea what date but that it would be sometime in September. I called the designer directly and not only were they disgusted with the fact the store would be allowing other woman to try on the dress, they also told me there was no dresses in my color being manufactured for September date. I did receive a full refund from the store, but I am speaking with the designer to pull the line and although many other woman may have had somewhat good experiences with the store, little do they know their dress was probably being tried on by others so they could make an extra sale. If you have purchased your dress at this store and can get it from another location in time for your wedding I suggest you do so. Thankfully the designer itself was able to get me a dress in the other color they offered in my exact size.
