Great dress selection and great people to work with!

The White Dress by The Shore helped me find my wedding dress as well as my bridesmaids' dresses for my September 2022 wedding. I chose to shop for dresses there because they carry a great collection of designers that have the slightly modern, elegant, and timeless styles that I was looking for and because they had a wide selection of Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses.

Booking an appointment was a breeze, and all the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. Granted I'm a pretty decisive person and I had a pretty clear vision of what I did/didn't want, but it only took me 1 shopping trip to find my dress because the stylist running my appointment listened and brought me really great options to try on. I brought my MOH with me to pick up my dress and we were able to do a bridesmaid dress appt on the same day while we were there. I'm extremely picky and they were able to help us find something we loved very quickly. All my bridesmaids ordered their dresses through TWD and had positive things to say about the service they received.

Best bridal boutique!

I’m so glad I visited The White Dress by the Shore! I had only been dress shopping once before coming to The White Dress, so I didn’t expect to find my wedding dress so early in the process. Not only did I find the perfect dress, but the whole experience was so smooth and fun! I loved having a website where I could browse dresses ahead of time and pick ones that I wanted to try on in person. When I got there, Jessica was so helpful with narrowing down dresses and finding new ones to try on. All of their dresses are gorgeous, but I fell in love with a dress from their own collection and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I highly recommend this boutique!

Absolutely Amazing!

I had such a wonderful experience at The White Dress by the Shore. I knew that this was the shop where I would find my dream dress. I had been to The White Dress by the Shore as a maid of honor when my sister found her dream dress there. The team at The White Dress by the Shore was wonderful to work with. They paid attention to every detail including making sure I was in the same room we were in when we found my sister’s dress years ago.

Shana, my stylist, pulled many beautiful dresses. The first gown she showed me was the one! She had a lovely approach that made me feel confident and comfortable. I love bows and knew I wanted a bow element to my dress. Beth reached out to the designer of my dress for input on the best bow that would complement my dress. Together we found the most beautiful bow, it was my favorite part of my dress. The White Dress by the Shore stylists helped me find my complete bridal look; my dress, my bow, and my veil.

When my dress arrived, I had a gown reveal appointment where I was able to try on my gown and try out my accessories with Shana. I highly recommend The White Dress by the Shore!

The Best!!

Beth and Mariah are INCREDIBLE! They both made my bridal gown shopping a phenomenal, fun, stress free process. They are extremely knowledgeable, personable, respectful, amazing women I couldn’t have gotten through this process without them. Truly the best of the best!!!!

Amazing experience

Couldn’t recommend The White Dress By The Shore more to future brides!!! My stylist Shana was incredible to work with, she was able to pickup on my style so quickly and pulled all gowns that I absolutely loved. The selection at the store was amazing and the experience was truly like no other!

A Plus Size Bride Dream and One of a Kind Experience

I had an amazing experience with TWD, especially as a plus size bride. First, the entire process even before the appointment is game changing. They give you multiple opportunities for you to show them and communicate to them what you’re looking for. It felt like they really cared about being prepared for my specific wants and making my appointment special. When I arrived, they already had some dresses pulled and ready to go that were exactly in the styles and shapes that I loved. Mariah who I worked with, was so knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Beth, the owner, also popped in multiple times to not just help out but to hype me up too. I never once felt like a plus size bride, just a regular bride whose wants were actually listened to. With their help and guidance I was able to find a perfect dress that made me feel beautiful and was customized to exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been to several bridal stores before and I can confidently say, TWD is the best of the best, by far. From start to finish, I have never seen or experienced a bridal store care so much about you as a bride - NO STORE does it like they do!! My experience with them truly blew me away.

My Dream Dress!

The White Dress by the Shore has incredibly beautiful dresses and a wonderful team! The store is quaint, elegant, and the rooms made me and my bridal group feel comfortable and excited! I found my perfect dress and could not have been more happy to wear it on my wedding day in September 2024! It was comfortable, beautiful, and timeless, exactly what I wanted. I had the absolute best experience at the white dress by the shore. Jess was amazing and so helpful. We had so much fun and it was such an easy, relaxing experience. The owner came in and joined us as well and I felt like a special bride already 🥰 nothing but positive things to say!!

Cannot recommend enough!

This was the first bridal store I visited and I was 100% not expecting to get anything. I was lucky to have Erin with me and she pulled all of the most beautiful dresses that perfectly fit every single one of my different ideas/requests. We were down to the last dress that Erin had picked out because she just thought it would look good on me and that I should try it and thank God she did! It was the most gorgeous Anne Barge that I definitely would not have picked out myself but looked like it was made for me! We ended up wanting to alter the back to make it into a 'V' instead of straight across and she just texted the rep while I was still trying it on and made it happen almost immediately.
Prior to this, I also got a bridesmaid dress from here and Olivia was amazing through that whole process as well!
Further, I brought my dress also to get cleaned & preserved through the services they provide. They are so kind, responsive, and easy to contact and talk to.
Cannot recommend this bridal boutique enough!

Amazing Products Amazing Service

I had the best experience at the White Dress. It was the second store I had visited (after a not so great experience) and I was blown away by Erin's kindness, knowledge, and professionalism. I went in describing a dress I wanted (and didn't want) and she recommended me try something (that I swore I didn't want) as she thought it would be complementary to my body type. Of course, it's the dress I ended up picking!!!! The women at the white dress were kind, it had an adorable atmosphere, fun, communicative, and even sent me a text on my wedding day to say congratulations!!! They also gave me recommended seamstresses organized by county- I ended up using two of them for different dresses and was blown away by both! I would recommend the white dress to anybody!

Amazing!!!

The White Dress by the Shore was the first bridal dress appointment I had, and I fell in love. I went to a few other places after that, but nothing came close to that dress or the professional and welcoming atmosphere of The White Dress by the Shore. They made me feel comfortable and really made sure that I was staying true to myself and not getting swayed by the many opinions in the room. They were helpful and responsive to my follow up questions and emails prior to purchasing the dress. We had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, but throughout it all Beth was so flexible and accommodating. She rescheduled my fittings to make sure I would look and feel amazing on my Wedding Day. There was a bit of an issue with the dress caused by cleaning (due to it being a sample), but I completely put my trust in Beth and she definitely delivered. I wasn’t worried at any point because she exudes confidence and for good reason. Beth was professional, responsive and supportive. The dress was absolutely perfect. I had a lot of alterations made to the dress and the seamstress created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Beyond the dress, the seamstress created a gorgeous veil from the lace on my Mother’s wedding gown. It was so special to me and a real showstopper. I received countless compliments on the veil and when I told people it was once my Mother’s dress they were blown away. I highly recommend The White Dress by the Shore!

The best wedding dress experience, hands down!

Michelle and everyone at White Dress by the Shore were amazing. I had no idea about what I was walking into as it was my very first dress appointment but Michelle made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I was really vague about what I was looking for but she took the small information I offered and pulled dresses that captured my vision better than I ever could have described myself. She was also so mindful of budget and was not pushy at all. I ended up finding my absolute dream dress (plus veil and gorgeous jewelry) and could not be more excited or more pleased with my experience. I was actually sad that it was over because it was such a special time. You need to go to this here for your dress, you won’t regret it!

I bought my dress from The White Dress by the Shore and worked with Michelle. SHE WAS INCREDIBLE!! She listened to everything I asked for and was super attentive to my style. I met Beth as well who is absolutely lovely. The women at this store will make sure all your dreams for the perfect wedding dress come true!!!

Michelle even hand wrote a note and mailed the letter to me remembering little details of my experience!!!

Dreamy Dress Experience

It was such a pleasure being able to work with Kelsey to help me and my mom find my dream dress. Kelsey made the experience so relaxed and comfortable and she was very patient as I tried on all sorts of dresses. She really made the process as stress-free as possible. My mom and I were lucky to be able to return for a second look before ultimately finding my dream dress. Kelsey was so thoughtful and saved my dress so I could try it on one last time before making a final decision. Beth was there when I picked up my gown and she also a pleasure to get to know and so friendly. Professional, friendly, beautiful gowns to choose from, amazing in-house seamstress

The White Dress by The Shore was absolutely the perfect experience! I had the pleasure of working with Callan, Michelle and Penny (the in house seamstress) made my wedding dress perfect. Originally, I wasn't quite sure what dress to try on, but I was shown a wide variety. Because they suggested trying on multiple, even if I was skeptical of the style, I ended up choosing one I never thought... it was absolutely perfect! Each time I went in for a fitting, Penny made it more and more perfect, so perfect that on my last fitting, I didn't need anything touched up. Penny did an absolutely perfect job with my complicated, lace dress. Callan and Michelle always greeted myself and mother in law with big smiles. They helped me get in and out of my gown and answered all of my questions. On a side note, Callan makes absolutely amazing cinnabuns and hot cider... her food truck is amazing. But regardless, this dress shop is friendly, beautiful, and incredibly professional, their seamstress is beyond talented.

Dream dress/dream team

This is a longggg overdue review but I needed the dust to settle after my dream wedding in Newport this June to adequately describe how grateful I am for this dream shop where I found my dream dress. TWD was the first place I went to when looking for a dress. I went with my mom and my sister and two friends. We had no expectations as this was our first time we were looking, as a matter of fact we were quite sure I was not going to purchase a dress that day! When you first step into the TWD you are treated like a queen and it was the first time that I felt like sh*t was getting real! Our stylist was Callan and I gave her a few examples of what I was thinking for my dress and she pulled a few gems. By the end of the appointment I had two dresses I loved! I loved the bottom of one but the top of the other and so right then and there my dream dress was created- callan immediately was like well we can make this! I shortly had both dresses on and our vision was made!

I had a few anxious months after purchasing my dress since I never had on / or saw what exactly was going to be my dress. But when I finally saw it and tried it on I was in AWE.. it truly turned out to be the most amazing dress for me and I wish I could wear it everyday for the rest of my life!

Callan got to be our stylist through every fitting and she truly was amazing and always made me feel beautiful. It was at the fittings where we also go to meet the amazing seamstress our MRS CT ( in my eyes at least) melissa- she worked her magic on my dress and made me love it even more- didnt know that was possible. My experience wouldn't have been the same without those 2. It was so sad to say goodbye after our final fitting as it became so fun seeing callan and melissa every month! And it was always extra special when Beth the owner would pop in during a fitting and come up with ideas to make the dress ever more perfect!

I truly would recommend this shop a million x over for anyone looking for their dream wedding dress! All my love to theTWD team I am so thankful for them all!

The most beautiful, classic collection of wedding gowns

When I stepped into the White Dress By The Shore boutique, I knew it was the place I was going to find my dream gown. Every single gown on the rack was just dreamy. Callan was my bridal stylist. I felt so lucky that she had an amazing style so similar to my own. We shared a love for bows too! I just adored her. After trying on a few dresses, she introduced the idea of customizing my gown. I never imagined that would have even been an option, but loved the idea that I could make a wedding dress with the exact fabric, neckline, and bow, and skirt that I wanted. Not only did they help me customize the dress, but they also helped me customize my bridesmaids' Lula Kate dresses. And when it came time for alterations, I worked with Penny. They described her as a magical fairy, and what they said was true. At each fitting she made sure every little detail of my gown was just perfect. Thank you so much to the entire White Dress By The Shore team for making my wedding dress (and bridesmaid dresses) dreams come true.

My daughter and her sisters and future mother in law all went to see Kelsey try on gowns and what a perfect experience. The room we sat in was private and comfortable.Abby was great with letting Kelsey pick out gowns she wanted to try. The shop manager stopped in a couple of times to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. We were even allowed to take pictures of her in the dresses which some shops do not allow. We had been to two other shops in RHODE ISLAND but the experience could not compare to here. Kelsey said ‘YES’ to her dress here, we were all served champagne and pictures were taken with the YES sign. Couldn’t have been better,
Potential buyers beware.....Connecticut charges 7.75% luxury tax on anything over 1000$.

I purchased both my wedding dress as well as my bridesmaids dresses at The White Dress By the Shore. To say that my experience from start to finish was exceptional is an understatement. If I could give The White Dress 10 stars I would in a heartbeat. They truly helped me and guided me into finding my dream Hailey Paige gown. They also assisted me in completing my look with a stunning veil, hair piece, and earrings. The ordering and alterations process was perfect and seamless!

When it came to bridesmaids dresses, Lauren was beyond helpful. I was incredibly indecisive, and she truly helped me choose the perfect Jenny Yoo gowns in the most gorgeous beige/cream color for my maids. All of my bridesmaids looked flawless, and ordering their gowns was a breeze, even when many were ordering from out of state.

I cannot thank Lauren and The White Dress by the Shore enough. Each time I came to the store, I was treated as if I was their only bride. I would recommend The White Dress to any and every bride! They truly have the most exquisite selection of gowns, and impeccable service. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my wedding dress experience so wonderful and so memorable. I will forever remember the day I chose my dress.

I had such an incredible experience shopping for my wedding dress at The White Dress by the Shore. My experience felt like something you see in a movie, and quite honestly, I did not know such experiences actually exist in real life! I had shopped at other bridal stores for my wedding dress prior to my appointment at The White Dress, and my experience there stood out by a landslide. The owner of the shop, Beth, worked with my mom, my 3 friends and me on the day of my appointment. We were greeted with champagne, our own private room and attitudes from all the employees that made you feel like you were the most important bride on the planet. It is so clear that Beth cares about all of her customers and works tirelessly to ensure that brides and their company have the perfect experience. Not to mention, her collections are all beautiful! There will not be enough words of love that I can share about The White Dress and the ladies that make the magic happen here. Just know the love for them is endless...I'll use my words to provide helpful details:
The salon is pristine while being warm and welcoming. It's got a classic, feminine decor with beautiful New England touches (hard woods, beautiful stone fireplace, etc.). So, at first sight, you're in a beautiful space.
The selection that you'll find is so balanced, there is something for everyone that comes in and you won't feel like you're sacrificing if you're more budget conscious (you'll still be in a reputable designer in a gorgeous dress made with fine fabrics/textiles). Not only do they have a wide range of prices, but they have so many amazing styles and Beth the salon owner (who I'll get to in a moment) has such an eye for how the dress can be customized during alterations. Ok, so space - check, dresses/designers - check, price range - check.
The stylists you'll meet are sweet, personal and personable, they listen, they want you to feel amazing and they have vision! They are not pushy...ever! Even after you've tried on too many dresses and are feeling confused, they are patient and helpful. They are women you feel are friends after two hours!
Penny who does the alterations at the White Dress is sweet, she listens and she is incredibly skilled.

I tell every bride I meet that they need to go to The White Dress by The Shore for their gown! I had an incredible experience there. I went to a couple of other stores that weren't really my vibe - I have a very classic style and a lot of the bridal trends today are more bohemian. But White Dress really has everything. My mom and my Maid of Honor came with me, and were able to pick out dresses alongside our awesome consultant, Alexandra. She listened to my feedback and showed me dresses in a variety of styles and prices. I never felt pressured to buy, which was important to me. I ended up with a gorgeous Jenny Yoo dress below budget that was perfect. I had about 5 dresses to choose from at the end and loved them all!! I also got my accessories there - sash and veil. They hooked me up with a lingerie store in Branford and even a seamstress in my hometown of West Hartford. My mom ended up getting her MOTB dress there as well! Highly recommend - this is practically a wedding institution in CT, and for good reason.

The White Dress by the Shore was, without a doubt, my favorite vendor to work with throughout the wedding planning process. I was familiar with The White Dress from being in the industry (I am a wedding planner in NYC and used to work for a catering company in CT), but I had never had a personal experience with the shop since I'm not usually involved in that step with my clients. I was gifted a "White Carpet Experience" by the women I worked with - this is a completely private shopping experience. Shopping for a wedding dress is such a personal and emotional experience, and you have to have just the right personality to work in an environment like this. Every single person I came into contact with at The White Dress had exactly this personality. They were kind, patient, and knowledgeable about fashion. They listened to me and were never judgmental in any way. I felt like part of the family every time I walked into the shop. I also had my bridesmaids purchase their dresses through The White Dress, and they had the same experiences. I'm so happy to have worked with The White Dress and I can't imagine shopping for a wedding dress anywhere else.

My experience at The White Dress was nothing short of fabulous! TWD was the third bridal salon I visited, and I knew as soon as I walked in that I would find my dress there. My bridal consultant, Lauren, was professional, friendly, and sweet! She listened to what I was looking for in a gown and helped me find a simple, elegant Amy Kuschel gown that was basically made for me. When my dress came in, TWD happily accommodated my limited fitting schedule due to my status as a cross-country bride. During my fittings, Lauren assisted me in purchasing some beautiful Sara Gabriel accessories that seamlessly completed my look. I was very anxious about trying on dresses because of sample sizing, but the minute I walked into The White Dress By the Shore I felt so at ease. Beth, the owner, is so incredible, knowledgeable and kind! I had gone to a few stores before that were fine, but this is just a different feel. It's so homey and comfortable and the gown are just beautiful. The fittings were also very seamless and my dress fit me like a glove. They knew how to pick the right silhouette for my body and based on the vision I had for the wedding. I would absolutely recommend going here, you won't regret it!

My mom-in-law-to-be found this gem boutique and made a white carpet, private appointment for a few of us to enjoy an afternoon together looking for a bridal gown for my destination wedding. I could not have imagined a more perfect day and loved every minute of it! The white carpet appointment meant that we had the boutique to ourselves, with some champagne and cupcakes to make it even more magical. We even had a couple photographers there to memorialize the day! The team at The White Dress at the shore is incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful. They have a great, diverse selection of bridal gowns and a good range to meet your budget. Within trying on just a couple dresses Kim already knew my style and was able to pick out the pieces that would help narrow down my choice. She was incredibly patient as I tried on a dozen gowns, and was kind to let me try on a couple of them more than once. By the end of the appointment, I picked out a Hayley Paige that will be perfect for my beach destination wedding. I cannot recommend them enough to any future bride looking for a bridal grown, accessories, or bridesmaid dresses! I went to many bridal shops before visiting the white dress by the shore. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this shop is. All the girls are truly amazing to work with. I felt like we had become friends by the time my wedding came. I wore the most amazing Haley Paige dress (the Elysia gown) on my wedding day and truly felt like a bridal princess. I had an amazing experience with all the wonderful ladies at White Dress. I made an appointment, and only a week later my sister and I were shown around to pick out dresses for me to try on, and then taken to a beautiful private room upstairs. When we found my dress, I was delighted to see it was half the price of a similarly styled dress I'd tried on before at a different shop. They even served us champagne to celebrate!

Working with the White Dress by the Shore was honestly one of the highlights of the wedding planning process for me. We were paired with Alexandra (she's the BEST) the first time we went and she then was with me the whole way through the process. The store itself is inviting and cozy, with the staff offering tea, water or coffee the minute you walk in (or course served in adorable antique cups). They have a wide enough selection that you feel you can try a multitude of styles, but its not overwhelming so you still feel calm through the process. Everything about the shopping experience was professional and flawless, all the way down to the hand written thank you note that I received after visiting. After purchasing my dream dress, we booked alterations with Penny. Let me just say, Penny is a genius and really goes above and beyond to make your dress perfect. I wasn't really sure what to do with my bustle, not liking the English or the French and the next time I returned, Penny had dreamt of a way to make it work. I ended up with a half English, half French bustle that was so incredibly perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone looking for their perfect gown.

My experience at the White Dress By The Shore was everything I could have wanted in finding my wedding dress. They had the perfect mix of different dresses to try, they have something for everyone! I wanted a light airy lace dress without the weight for my destination wedding and they had exactly what I was looking for. The staff is truly amazing at what they do and make a process that can be stressful so enjoyable and fun. They have this amazing quaint house and your appointments are never rushed or crowded. I had the best experience with The White Dress by the Shore! My sister purchased her gown here years ago and so this was my first stop to try on dresses. After only trying on a handful of dresses, and with the help of Callie and the shop owner Beth, I found my dream dress with the exact details I wanted. I was able to customize my Modern Trousseau dress by adding some short lace sleeves. They were so accommodating and really listened to what I was looking for. My fittings were some of my favorites days in the wedding planning process. Lauren was so accommodating and so much fun to work with. Penny absolutely worked wonders and my dress fit like a dream! I was thrilled with how it came out. I can't think of enough great things to say about this shop, absolutely the best experience and so worth the trip!!

Staff at the White Dress really made finding a dress fun. I was looking for a "shortie" for my wedding, and they had such a great selection, I chose two and had a wardrobe change right before the reception! Shana was really great in helping with alterations and getting me outfitted with jewelry, and by the end, I felt that I should be inviting her to the wedding! I was not necessarily looking forward to dress shopping. I didn't like almost every wedding dress I had seen in magazines and on TV. I was not a big and poofy type of girl, so I was unsure if I would be able to find anything I loved. We went to a few places before we went to The White Dress, and just as I expected, the gowns were all pretty, but not me. When my mom and I went to The White Dress by the Shore, as soon as I walked in I knew I was going to buy my dress that day. While they had the more traditional (beautiful) wedding dresses, they also had the more relaxed, bohemian look that was more like me. From that first appointment through my "accessories" appointment, and my final fitting, I felt so comfortable there. I never felt awkward or uncomfortable about my body or not knowing how to walk in heels. They let me feel like me and not some girl playing dress up. I am sad that I won't be able to use this vendor again (seeing as there is no longer a need for me to buy wedding dresses), but I would recommend them to everyone that I know.

I had a great experience with The White Dress by the Shore. I went there knowing I wanted to try on a particular dress which they had. After spending more than 90 minutes between the dress I originally tried and another dress, I couldn't decide; however, Victoria (who is unfortunately no longer there) never lost patience and continued to put me in and out of the same two dresses numerous times. I left without buying anything and actually asked to have three dresses ordered so I could try them on. Victoria did this without batting a lash and when I went back to try those dresses along with the first dress I fell in love with, I decided on the first dress. We purchased from the store and when I went in to pick up my dress, we were treated to champagne along with a hair trial free of charge. It was a great experience and I would go back there in a second!

I had a wonderful experience at The White Dress by the shore. I had been to several bridal stores previously and was feeling discouraged by the selection and service I'd experienced. As soon as we entered The White Dress, I knew this would be different. The staff was polite and helpful, making me feel comfortable without pressuring me, and the dresses were beautiful and different than the ones I'd seen elsewhere. The salesgirl with whom I had an appointment made suggestions appropriate to my style and budget, but was also enthusiastic about the dresses I picked out myself. My mother and I had a huge private dressing room and the full, undivided attention of two salesgirls. They allowed me as much time as I needed to try on dresses and make a decision, which made the experience so much easier. While they were very respectful to my mother, they subtly and professionally supported my preferences and stood up for me. When I finally chose a dress, an Anne Barge gown that I haven't seen anywhere else, they seemed genuinely celebratory and brought us champagne. Since I live out of state, they recommended a seamstress in my area and were very communicative as soon as my dress arrived to the store, shipped it promptly, and followed up with me. I can't recommend them highly enough. It was everything I imagined shopping for a wedding dress would be.

My mother also bought her dress at The White Dress by the shore - their mother-of-the-bride options are just as different and beautiful as their wedding dress options, and she had a positive experience with their alterations department.

I am beyond happy that I purchased my wedding dress from The White Dress by the Shore. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it's not your ordinary wedding dress shop. Located in an cozy old home, it is full of elegance and you can't help but feel at home (I often felt like the only bride in the store). The walls are lined with quality wedding gowns and accessories with private rooms decorated in the most beautiful way with seating in the rooms for any group you bring with you.

The consultants are not pushy and they remember who you are. Everyone I worked with was so supportive and personable and they never once rushed you because of another appointment. Each experience I had there was relaxing and memorable.

Beth, the owner, is so friendly and is always in the shop. She's been present at each one of my fittings so far and helped me pick out my veil at my first fitting. We opted to have my dress altered at the shop although it can be slightly more than taking it elsewhere, but their seamstresses are great to work with and know what they are doing.

I am so grateful to have found my gown at such a wonderful shop. The whole experience has been incredible and I highly recommend The White Dress by The Shore!

I have extremely specific taste and was not at all interested in the traditional, puffy wedding gown. I was looking for a vintage, Hollywood-style evening gown and had doubts that I would ever find what I was looking for. White Dress by the Shore not only had numerous options of dresses that I adored, but they also had one that exceeded my expectations entirely. My David Fielden wedding gown was the dress of my dreams and it was actually in my (more conservative) price range. Holly was WONDERFUL. I highly recommend this beautiful, exquisite shop!

I cannot say enough good things about The White Dress! I began my wedding dress shopping here and had the most incredible experience, which could only be described as magical. The boutique is stunning and chic and all the staff are personable and professional.

I also shopped at several the big name couture bridal boutiques in NYC, and the honestly did not compare to the one-on-one service that I had a the White Dress. I was indecisive about a few of the dresses so Beth and Shana suggested I return during the Modern Trousseau trunk show so I could talk to the designer in person. I ultimately decided to do the muslin process with Modern Trousseau, making some changes to one of their dresses, to make a gown that was completely custom. My continued experience with Modern Trousseau, facilitated by the staff at the White Dress was incredible. I HIGHLY recommend both The White Dress and Modern Trousseau to all brides!

From the moment we walked into The White Dress by the Shore we knew this was not your average wedding dress shop. The exquisite cottage is elegantly decorated and filled wall-to-wall with gorgeous wedding gowns, shoes, jewelry and shoes. We were also provided our own private salon (also well decorated and comfortable) and tea/coffee on real china!

It was important to me that both Moms be a part of the wedding dress process and that it be very special for us all, as my now husband (!!!) is 1 of 4 boys and I am the only daughter. Beth and her team made picking my dream dress the most stress-free, enjoyable and memorable part of the wedding planning process!

Shana was my dress stylist and Holly worked with me on accessories (belt, hair pins and customized bridesmaid necklaces). Both with true professionals, not to mention absolute dolls. They really know their craft and truly enjoy what they do.

With Shana's help I found TWO dresses I absolutely loved and just didn't know what to do! I was so lucky that they were both Modern Trousseau, as I was able to elect the muslin fitting and customize my very own gown! I was able to met Callie Tein, the designer, and get her advice on combing the two styles and off we went!

Working with the team at Modern Trousseau took my wedding dress experience to the next level. I could probably write a short story from start to finish, but I will spare you all. Just know that you will never find an equivalent experience that will result in the most perfect fitting, luxurious and truly unique dress as what Modern Trousseau can provide you. I wish I could back and do it all again.

Thank you to Beth, Shana, Holly and everyone at Modern Trousseau for making the wedding dress experience the most special experience I could ever have imagined.

They have hand selected a wide array of dresses without having an overwhelming number to choose from. I found the most incredible Augusta Jones dress here and soon found out it was not available in any other stores in the state. Their staff is fabulous - my stylist Holly was so patient, helpful and kind. Their 'by appointment only' rule is such an asset to this boutique ...it makes you feel like you are the only bride in the whole store and often times you are!

The White Dress by the Shore was a wonderful experience and provided me with a beautiful gown! I first came to The White Dress as my first dress shopping stop, I was looking for the upscale, boutique experience. I was not disappointed. I worked with Shana, who was fantastic. I told her what I was looking for and we pulled dresses together (some boutiques will NOT let you look through the dresses, but White Dress does!). Shana suggested a dress that I was hesitant about- it wasn't really what I had been looking for- well, as I am sure you can guess, Shana knew best! That was my dress! I left without it and shopped around, but nothing could compare. I came back and purchased a few weeks later. It was a very unique style dress (not what all brides might choose) but that's what the White Dress can bring to the table that others do not. The designer (David Fielden) is only sold by 4 retailers in the US. I truly saw nothing else like it (after going to 2-3 other places). The service was outstanding. Beth, the owner, is great at what she does and was helpful in telling me small adjustments to make to the dress which really elevated it. We later came back for a bridesmaid soiree which was just as wonderful and my girls ended up buying beautiful dresses from the White Dress as well.

This was the first actual wedding dress shop my mother and I came to after looking at David's Bridal. It is a magical place! We met with Kelly, who was so personable and charming. I really didn't know what I was looking for, jut what I didn't want. We took two armfuls of dresses upstairs and began. As it turns out, the very first dress I tried on was THE one. And I think my mom and Kelly knew it before I did. I changed a few things on the dress, but Kelly helped me see the end result, and was just so wonderful! Being indecisive as I am, I came back a week later, but in the time in between she sent me a personal card about our appointment and how beautiful the dress had looked. It was so kind of her. When we went back she remembered everything about me, and she helped us celebrate my decision with champaign.

She also helped my mother find THE most beautiful and perfect dress for my wedding. She is fabulous!

When it came time for alterations, I cannot speak highly enough about Penny and the staff. They were very attentive to my wishes, and made the dress into the even more beautiful dress of my dreams. When we ran into an issue during the final fitting with the corset I had gotten somewhere else, they were quick to step in and make sure I didn't leave without having everything I needed, and having it be a perfect fit!

I would highly recommend The White Dress to anyone looking for a wedding gown for a dress for a special occasion. You will be treated like royalty!

I had a lovely experience shopping for my wedding dress here! I would definitely recommend it. The shop is so pretty and cozy. The staff makes you feel special the instant that you walk in the door. I agree with some of the other reviews that this is not a wedding factory - they work with you to create a unique look that you love. I told my consultant that I wanted to look ethereal and she helped me find a dress that totally accomplished that feeling! All the dresses are beautiful and they will help you stay within your budget.

I had an amazing experience at The White Dress. I'm that woman that went to 15 dress shops and tried on, literally, everything in the store and could not make up my mind. After I'd narrowed down a couple of dresses (of course in different shops), I could sense the frustration the staff was having with me (who could blame them?!). I just wasn't one of those women who put a dress on, the clouds parted, a ray of sun beamed down on me and told me that it was "THE ONE". The lovely ladies at the White Dress were nothing but encouraging, pushing me to try things that I may not have considered, and making me feel as though something that I'd begun to see as tedious was actually a lot of fun and something to enjoy! I'm grateful to them for their advice, support, and fabulous customer service!!!

Love this place! It was the second place I went to look for a wedding dress and as soon as I walked in I knew this would be the place. Shana was the girl who I worked with and she was just awesome. I tried on many dresses, and I loved every single one I put on they have such a huge selection of gorgeous gowns, Shana did not rush me or push me like I know some places do. She made the whole experience so fun for my mom and I. And when I decided on a dress, we had some champagne!
I did not do alterations here because they are a bit pricey here and I also wanted a place closer to where I live but they were so great at finding me someone. If your looking for a wonderful experience with an awesome staff this is the place to go.

I cannot praise the girls at White Dress by the Shore enough! After visiting a couple of high-end stores (let's call it like it is, and say they were snooty) I was thrilled to enter the WDBTS. It was honestly like a chick-flick princess experience from start to finish. We were immediately taken to a private room, offered tea & coffee and then were able to grab dress styles to try on. After an hour of shopping, I celebrated finding my dream dress with a champagne toast. The amazing quality of service didn't end there though, as I was spoiled every time I went for a fitting. I would definitely recommend White Dress by the Shore to any bride. It was such a terrific experience, I could do it all over again!

I am so happy I purchased my dress at White Dress by the Shore. You truly cannot find better service anywhere else. All of the consultants are so helpful and are so passionate about what they do. They offer valuable advice while also carefully listening to what a bride is looking for in her wedding dress. I felt at ease throughout the entire process and the staff treated my sisters and I like royalty. Shaina is so energetic and friendly - which are the exact qualities you need during a long day of dress shopping! She truly helped me find the most perfect wedding dress.
I've recommended the salon to so many of my friends. The White Dress has only gotten better since my sister got her dress there over 6 years ago!

From the design of the boutique to the service staff to the selection of gown to the alteration process - everything at the White Dress was enjoyable and fun. They have a wonderful selection of gowns, veils and accessories for every budget and their service is impeccable. They make every bride feel special. The alteration process was so simple, and Penny was wonderful and talented to work with. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. I wouldnt want to have purchased my dress from any place else!

I had the most wonderful experience at WDBS. They were wonderful to work with when I was searching for my gown and stepped it up even more through the fitting and final steps. They were professional, stylish, and helpful. Their seamstress is awesome too. She did an amazing job making everything perfect.

I also got my earrings, hairpiece and bridesmaid dresses there and that all went wonderfully too.

I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Everyone at TWDBTS was amazing from start to finish. It doesn't feel like a wedding factory like it does at so many other bridal salons. I didn't find my dress there the first time I went but because the service was so amazing I went back for a 2nd look. I found the dress of my dreams at that point. I also recommend getting alterations there, Josie is amazing and makes you feel 100% beautiful whether you are a size 00 or plus.

There is virtually nothing more that could have made my wedding dress experience more perfect thanks to White Dress by the Shore. I’m originally from CT, but live almost 2 hours away now in Newport, RI. It was MORE than worth the drive. From the moment we stepped into the boutique it was an absolute fairytale. Their gracious and welcoming staff is amazing. Having the privacy of your own room is beyond words. Their staff is the absolutely sweetest, and very knowledgeable. We were working within a budget and they not only respected that, they made us feel like we had a million dollars to spend. From the gown, to the beautiful store itself, to their team, and not to mention the design of my gown was there that day, so I got to have a picture with her (!), to “The Moment” – it was meant to be. White Dress, how do I even begin to thank each and everyone of you? One of my best friends recommended you amazing ladies during/after her wedding, and given how beautiful she looked at her wedding, I knew you would be the one. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled at all about dress shopping, but once I entered TWDBTS last Thanksgiving-weekend, I knew I would say "yes to the dress" in your beautiful boutique. We were taken such wonderful care of - every detail was attended to, and most importantly, everyone made me feel so comfortable. As much as I loved picking and buying a dress, I REALLY had the most exceptional experience in my fittings with Jill, Rachel, and Penny. Penny literally reconstructed my dress, and made it absolutely perfect. On the day of my wedding, I felt beautiful and the look I hoped for was achieved. I got tears in my eyes saying goodbye to Penny and Rachel, as I felt like she became family. I would have really cried if I knew it was goodbye, but I didn't, as we are coming back this Thanksgiving as my little sister is coming (from Chicago) to hopefully find her dress with you too! Thanks for everything, White Dress! :)

From the very start the girls here treated me like I was the only bride in the world and cared as though they were your best friend. I was hooked. I not only got my wedding dress here but I got my bridesmaid dresses, my mom got her dress here, my mom & I both got our dresses altered here and I am having my dress preserved with them, and they are an HOUR AND A HALF drive from my house. It's not convenient, but they are THAT good. If you are a 2 hour drive from them, it's worth it. I highly recommend this place and miss the girls there. The owner, Beth, knows what she is doing and most certainly knows how to train her girls in customer service!

Shopping at The White Dress by the Shore for my wedding gown and accessories could not have been a more perfect experience. Owner, Beth, has beautifully curated the selection of gowns to make sure you have lots of options but you are not overwhelmed. My stylist, Abby, was warm and attentive. She really listened when I described what I wanted in a wedding gown and pulled dresses that fit my aesthetic. She was so supportive and patient! When my dress came in, I went back for an undergarments and accessories appointment. Josie at Beneath the Dress, located with in the salon, helped me find support garments that gave me the shape I wanted but were still sexy. She even altered the bustier so I didn't need to worry about it peaking out of my dress. I was joined by stylist Kelley to pick out accessories. She has a real eye for detail and helped me pick out some gorgeous pieces. She showed me so many different looks but I ended up selecting earrings and a bracelet from her line, Aquinnah. She didn't tell me it was her line until after I made my selections and asked if I could customize the bracelet. Having a piece of jewelry made specifically for me made me feel so special! A review of The White Dress by the Shore would not be complete without mentioning the amazing work of seamstress, Penny. Alterations are all done in house and a stylist accompanies you to every fitting. I didn't realize how intimidating it can be to stand there in THE dress. I was lucky enough to have Beth with me for my first fitting to help identify the little fixes that made my gown fit perfectly. Penny made sure that my dress was comfortable and flattering from every angle. No tugging on wedding day for me. Overall, my experience at the White Dress by the Shore was lovely from start to finish. Beth and her team are the best!

Onnica, Shana and Penny (I hope this is the proper spelling of their names) were ABSOLUTELY fabulous!! My experience at TWD was beyond anything I could have imagined. Beth, your staff far exceeded my expectations on every level. It was an absolute pleasure to work with everyone, most notably Onnica, who went above and beyond to make sure that my gown, fittings, accessories, etc. were everything I dreamed they would be. Purchasing and fitting my dress was truly one of the highlights of my wedding planning process...and most importantly - I could not have been any more in love with my dress (ahhh, my beautiful dress) - it was everything and more! White Dress by the shore was amazing!!! They made the entire wedding dress shopping process so special. I described to Kelly the dress I was looking for and she had the exact match in the dressing room waiting for me to try on. The wedding dress I bought was the first dress I tried on at the first place. I went to a million different stores after white dress by the shore and couldn't find anything that compared to how amazing their dresses are. Looking back on the process, I now know that I would not waste my time going anywhere else. I tell all of my girlfriends how amazing, responsive, and wonderful this store is. Not only did I get my dress at this store, I also got my veil, a hande-made hair clip, and bracelets from white dress by the shore. And... of course, I cannot say enough good things about their in-house seamstress Jose who just made me dress perfect!

I absolutely loved working with the wonderful team at The White Dress by the Shore for my wedding. Beth, Kelley and Jill were unbelievably helpful throughout the entire process. They were the utmost professionals and they truly helped me love every moment - from picking my dream dress to altering every last inch of it. Penny worked magic on my dress - she is such an incredibly talented seamstress. Every detail was perfected by her. The dresses in the shop are all so perfectly curated and they carry the fabulous Aquinnah jewelry line which is designed by their very own Kelley!

I would highly recommend The White Dress by the Shore to anyone wanting a truly memorable and fun wedding dress experience. So sad to not see these girls on a regular basis anymore!

White Dress by the Shore was great. I originally picked a dress very far in advance for my wedding, then freaked out and changed my mind & WDBTS had me in several times to try on dresses again (and the owner, Beth, was helping me since I was so lost). They were wonderful. The one thing that I will say is i had a hard time scheduling my fittings since I had chosen late, so make sure you schedule them asap.

Everyone made me feel so wonderful in each dress I tried on. The staff were professional and personal each time I went in for fittings. I not only purchased my wedding dress there but also my bridesmaid's dresses. Everyone was so happy with the quality.

Love them! They were so wonderful to work with from the time I went for my initial appt to try on dresses to the day before my wedding when they steamed and bagged my dress for me. They ladies that work at this boutique are so sweet! They always made me feel so important and they relly know their bridal gown fashion. They helped me accessorize with a beaded belt, earrings, and a flower heaband that looked perfect with my dress. I wish I could shop at this butique every day! What a wonderful place!

The White Dress by the Shore was such a wonderful place to purchase my wedding dress! The space itself was very charming, from the fireplace to the decorations, and the staff was incredible. Lindsay was the one who helped me, and she was extremely enthusiastic and nice. She made me feel comfortable right away. Also, I loved the designers that the store carries. I chose a Modern Trousseau dress, and I absolutely LOVED wearing it at my wedding. I highly recommend The White Dress by the Shore!!

This shop went above and beyond my expectations. From the minute I walked in, I felt like a princess. The shop is self is absolutely adorable and the staff is very friendly. My budget was 2000 and we ended up coming under which is always great! I bought all of my accessories onsite. For one, they had beautiful pieces and two after I checked out some other shops for comparable accessories, the other shops were much more expensive. I also was able to get my undergarments and alterations done onsite. Everyone I dealt with was fantastic. They don't rush you and make sure every last detail is perfect! I highly recommend!

I LOVE The White Dress by the Shore!! I bought my wedding dress, Jenny Yoo BM dresses, flower girl dress, and my mom's dress here. My mom and I also had our fittings done here, and I plan to return one more time to preserve my dress. I have nothing but good things to say about this boutique. All the girls are so friendly, and we were always treated like family every time we called or entered the boutique.

The only downside is that it can be a little pricey, but if you can afford it, it is worth every penny to buy your dress and to do your fittings here. I'll be sad when I don't have a reason to go back anymore! Hopefully one of my friends will buy her dress from here so I have an excuse to go visit again...

I made the trek down to Connecticut in search for my dream dress. I had been eying it forever. As soon as my maid of honor and I walked in, we were treated so wonderfully. I worked with Kelly and she truly went above and beyond. She found my dress for me (nicknamed Courtney) and picked out several other beautiful gowns for me to try on. It was such a great experience.

Even when I went to pick up my gown, everyone was so nice to work with.

There were a couple stores closer to where I live that carried my dress, but The White Dress by The Shore caught my eye from the start. It was certainly well worth the drive and I can't recommend them enough. I just love the whole atmosphere of the store.

Kelly if you read this, Thank You so much for all of your help and helping me find my dream dress. You are fantastic!

Oh my goodness! The best bridal boutique on the entire east coast. Their dress selection is amazing. I got both my wedding gown and my bridesmaids dresses there. The women that work their are so sweet and excited for you! You start crying in your dress and veil and they will too! They really work with you when it comes to finding the perfect dress for your personal style and taste as well as your body shape. They also help with accessorizing to come up with the most perfect and unique look for you. The White Dress by the Shore made my day even more spectacular. As a vendor you deal with before the wedding, they definitely assisted in picking the perfect dress and ensuring all the alterations were perfectly completely. The ladies at the shop made be feel like a princess everytime we were there and truly worked their magic.

Is it possible to give a higher rating? If your in the market for a gown look no further. White Dress is simply the most amazing place to purchase your gown. I had an wonderful experience working with the owner, Beth, and her staff. The experience was unforgettable -- they made it very special for me and my family! The alterations were impeccable. I can't gush about them any more -- they are simply wonderful!

There is nowhere else in the world I would rather have gotten my dress. The girls that work here truly become your friends and help you every step of the way. I am from New England and it was just the perfect place to search for a gown, in an old colonial renovated home. Besides the fact that they carry the most gorgeous dresses, it is just a comfortable place to try on your dress in an exceptional atmosphere!
