    Avam wedding

    We hired Kelly for our fall wedding at the AVAM, based on the recommendation of our venue and caterer. We're so happy we did. She gave very responsive from the onset. She was organized with all our details and we didn't have to worry about any details on the wedding day. As two people who have never planned a wedding and had no idea where to start, we're so glad we had Kelly to guide us. We used many of her vendor recommendations, and if felt like the whole team didn't miss a beat. Thanks Kelly for helping us execute our dream wedding!

    Our best wedding planning decision

    At first, we really didn’t think we needed a wedding coordinator, but after being recommended The Wedding Ninja, it was the single best decision we could have made to make our wedding go as perfectly as it did. Kelly immediately made herself available for calls, questions, and advice. She was knowledgable, respectful, and prompt throughout the entire planning process. Most of all, she’s energetic and fun! In the month of our wedding, she seamlessly pulled together everything we had worked on over the last year. On the day of, she got everyone in order, on time, stress-free - we just got to enjoy our day. Thank you thank you thank you!

    Perfect fit for our unconventional wedding!

    Kelly was incredible! We had a very unique event and with the stress of running our own business, she took the brunt of the coordination and communication off our shoulders which allowed us to be creative and enjoy everything. Day of she was a machine! Whatever I needed she was already there knowing I needed it.
    We can sometimes be like herding cats and she herded our chaotic selves flawlessly. We could not have pulled this off without her!

    Wonderful experience

    Kelly is awesome. Thanks to Kelly, our wedding day itself was a breeze, and we truly enjoyed all the special moments, from greeting all our guests to spending a few quiet moments together to dancing through the very last song of the night. We had absolutely no worries that the wedding would go flawlessly once we handed the reigns over to Kelly! Perhaps most importantly, Kelly graciously helped coordinate various accommodations for our family members who had serious accessibility needs, and she went out of her way to make sure our valued guests had everything they needed. Kelly also has excellent vendor recommendations (and great relationships with many Baltimore vendors), is extremely communicative, and always answered our many questions throughout the entire planning process, making sure no stone was left unturned. It goes without saying, but we absolutely could not have pulled off our wedding without Kelly’s expertise and management. Thank you Kelly!!!

    There Are No Words

    We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have found Kelly, The Wedding Ninja, early in our wedding planning process. Kelly's assistance throughout the entire journey was nothing short of exceptional, and she made the entire experience remarkably easy for us.

    From the moment we brought Kelly on board, she demonstrated her expertise by setting up a Google Drive to organize all our documents and contracts, ensuring that every detail was in its place. She went above and beyond in reviewing our contracts, making certain that we were getting everything we needed and nothing less.

    Kelly's involvement didn't stop at paperwork. She joined us for a crucial walkthrough of our wedding venue, where her professionalism and attention to detail truly shone. Her role as the "rehearsal pro" was evident as she skillfully ran our rehearsal, putting us at ease for the big day.

    True to her name, Kelly was like a wedding ninja on our special day. She had a remarkable ability to be both everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Whenever we needed her, she would appear, ready to handle any situation, and then seamlessly disappear, assuring us that she'd be there for the next potential "emergency."

    Phenomenal

    Kelly was truly perfect. I could not have asked for a more seamless, simplistic, organized, and committed individual to help plan the wedding. She brought up ideas which I as a person relatively unfamiliar with wedding traditions totally didn't consider - and those ideas ended up being CRUCIAL. She has an eccentricity that we appreciated, as we didn't want an overly traditional or conventional wedding. I also can confidently say that she is an ally to the LGBTQA community. As a queer person and a friend to other queer folx, I was happy to hear Kelly ask about pronouns, use inclusive language, and show a "do no harm, but take no sh*t" approach. Kelly is responsive, respectful, considerate, and kind. I could not possibly recommend her more and if you're reading this Kelly, I OWE YOU EVERYTHING!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxox Lauren and Josiah

    Fantastic coordinator!

    Kelly was so wonderful to work with. We started working with Kelly several months before our wedding, and we without a doubt could not have done it without her. We live in Florida, but had our wedding in Baltimore, and Kelly was a fantastic resource regarding vendors, decor, logistics, you name it! She was so easy to work with as well as professional. You could tell she had a lot of experience doing what she does. On the day of the wedding, I saw her maybe once before I walked down the aisle, but that's because she was running around behind the scenes making sure everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish (which it was!). She worked so well with all my vendors and I could not have asked for a better support system and coordinator in Kelly. My husband and I definitely recommend her for your wedding day!

    Kelly was Amazing!

    I have nothing but good things to say about "The Wedding Ninja". Kelly did an amazing job from the early planning stages to coordinating the day of event. Nothing within her control went wrong that day and she was amazing at getting everyone in line. I imagine coordinating an event like this is a bit like "herding cats" and she did a great job. Kelly was also fantastic at rolling with the punches outside of our control. One example that comes to mind was my best man lost his boutonniere right as we got to the location. Within minutes Kelly had crafted a replacement one, in our colors from one of the decorations and what looked like electrical tape? Regardless, it looked fantastic and the show went on. Kelly was also incredible with the young kids in our wedding party. Our flower girls were definitely excited during the rehearsal and day of and she managed to get them where they needed to be. I could go on, but to summarize, if you want to feel comfortable knowing that whatever happens on the day of, your wedding coordinator will roll with it, keep the day moving, and reduce your stress levels majorly I'd go with The Wedding Ninja.

    Best Coordinator Ever!

    Kelly and her team are beyond words. From start to finish Kelly was a dream to work with. She is always positive, organized, and has the right words at the right moment. We felt so comfortable working with her and had all the confidence in the world leading up to our wedding with her behind the scenes. Every time we had a question Kelly put us at ease and always had the answers! Kelly and her team made the venue look absolutely perfect with our decor and even adjusted some of our pieces that got jostled in transport making them even more beautiful than before! All of our guests commented that Kelly is “the best” and she truly is. I would hire her 1,000 times over.

    Kelly is the BEST

    Hiring Kelly was one of the best decisions we made throughout the whole wedding planning process. She made sure everything on our day ran so smoothly, and if there were any issues, we never knew because Kelly was there to handle it all. While being incredibly organized and diligent, Kelly also has such a joyful and calming personality that made us feel prepared and ready from the planning stages, to the rehearsal, to the actual wedding day. The joy she has for her work is also evident in her relationships she has with other vendors in the wedding industry. Upon hearing that we hired Kelly, all of our vendor were so happy and assured us that she was the best. Our DJ even gave us a discount when we stated Kelly recommended their company! Our wedding day was truly perfect, and Kelly played a huge role in its success. Hire Kelly!!

    Grateful for the Ninja!

    Could not be happier with everything Kelly did for us. Our day was perfect despite the bad weather. Everything was so well organized thanks to her. Our vendors loved working with her as well, and it took some stress off our plate. We had no idea what we were doing and Kelly kept us on the right path and made sure everyone was on the same page. We had a blast at our wedding and are grateful for her making it so special for us.

    The best ninja a couple could ask for

    Wow just wow. She was absolutely amazing. From day 1 with her we knew she was going to be the right fit. Kelly took the time to get to know our personalities, style, and quirks. She always made us comfortable and answered all of our questions even if they were somewhat weird at times. Her fun and easy going personality put me and my husband at ease. We could trust her, On our wedding day, I called her a ninja many times while forgetting that was legit her business's name. She made our wedding day go so smoothly with absolutely no hiccups. She was great with the vendors and also she helped us save so much money. She would tell us if she didn't think something we were spending money on was worth the cost. Her experience and her passion for the job really shined through every inch of her. We couldn't ask for a better person to make our wedding day special. While I was walking down the aisle, she was hiding in the back and she was even my own hype woman. She knew how nervous I could get and she was there for me, making me excited and feel confident. We were also taking photos out in the freezing cold and she ran to get me hot cider so I could warm my hands. She went above and beyond. Kelly will always be in our hearts and we can not thank her enough for making our day perfect. Please please please seek her out to make your wedding so much more special.

    Such a rockstar!

    Kelly was a dream to work with! I'm a quintessential Type A planner, but I had complete faith giving Kelly the reigns for our wedding day. She was so organized in the lead up and helped to wrangle all of our vendors. On the day, she staged our venue beautifully and packed everything up for us, managed vendor coordination, and kept everything running smoothly even when I was running late from hair and makeup.     The wedding ninja!

    I don’t know what we would have done without Kelly as our coordinator. She worked so hard to keep everything organized and running smoothly, even with having to postpone twice due to covid. On the day, she made sure that we had a chance to eat, she made sure everyone knew where they needed to be and what they needed to be doing, and even acted as our officiant! Do yourself a favor and book her fast! Thank you so much Kelly!

    AMAZING!! Must have for any wedding day!

    There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Kelly and her team are! We originally had our wedding scheduled during the height of COVID and Kelly was fantastic at helping us navigate the uncertainty of the situation (talking to venue, coordinating vendor team, etc.). Even with changing our date to August 21, 2021 ( a whole year later), Kelly continued to stay in touch with us and keep us on track as the wedding came closer. On the day of, she was great at directing our wedding party (even though half of them did not even show up for rehearsal), provided flawless execution of decor, made sure we were well hydrated, and packed everything up with super lightning speed. Kelly and her team are a must have for any wedding as they will make sure everything is running smoothly so you have nothing to worry about and get to enjoy your special day. Thank you Wedding Ninja for making our day one to remember!

    Couldn't have done it without her!

    Kelly was amazing throughout our whole wedding planning process, especially through all through all the challenges that the pandemic threw our way. We had a backyard/DIY wedding, and at first I thought we didn't need a day-of-coordinator, but boy was I wrong. I'm not sure we could've pulled it off without Kelly. She and her assistant were there from start to finish, and basically I blinked and everything was set up perfectly! She coordinated with all the vendors and other helpers so we didn't have to do a thing. At the end of the night, everything was put away and we didn't have to worry about that part, which was great. So glad we hired her, because it allowed us to enjoy our night and not worry about everything else. For those of you who, like me, are hesitant about hiring a DOC or not sure you need one, trust me - you do! Highly recommend!

    MOB Recommendation

    Kelly was the ultimate professional before and the day of my daughter's wedding. She was more than available to me even though she was primarily working with the bride. This past year prompted so many changes and challenges. Kelly didn't blink and her even tempered nature kept all of us calm and on schedule. I truly never realized how many details would be involved. I felt very comfortable and very much trusted Kelly to handle anything that popped up. Cost of her service included an assistant for some of our unique circumstances. We are grateful to them both.

    SO thankful for Kelly!

    Hiring Kelly was one of the best, if not THE best decision we made when planning our wedding. We were originally planning for May 2020 with 150 guests. When we had to reschedule (twice!) due to COVID, everything was seamless. Kelly helped coordinate dates and new plans with our vendors which was such a relief to me. With so many changes in plans, I definitely felt a bit of burnout while planning-Kelly always kept me on schedule without being pushy. Every time we talked on the phone a huge sense of calmness came over me. We ended up rescheduling our wedding as a 30 person event at an Airbnb. The day of our wedding there was a huge traffic incident that some of our early morning vendors and my bridesmaids got stuck in for nearly 4 hours. Kelly immediately called me to reassure me that the day would still go on, and called all of our vendors to coordinate. Even though we had a 3 hour delay to the start of the day that could have been very stressful, we amazingly stayed on schedule! During the event, if there was any drama, I had absolutely no idea because Kelly was on top of it. We also hired Kelly’s assistant, Katy, to shuttle vendors because the parking situation was a little tricky at the Airbnb. Not only did she shuttle vendors, but she brought us the bouquets from the florist and helped with my train before the ceremony (and SO many other things that I didn’t see because I was enjoying myself!) Kelly and Katy were a jack of all trades the day-of. I completely forgot about so many of the behind the scene details because it was just so seamless. We truly got to enjoy our day. Quote of the night from multiple friends and family: “Kelly is on top of it-she’s a badass” Do yourself a favor and hire Kelly-who’s to say what could happen while planning a wedding. A global pandemic and a hostage situation causing a bay bridge closure were certainly not on my list! ;)

    simply the best

    Not only was Kelly our day of coordinator, she was also our officiant. We trusted her so much that we pretty much handed her a couple boxes of décor and said "go for it". Everything was perfect and turned out better than I imagined. Having her officiate was so easy too! I put together an outline and some verbiage I wanted to use in the ceremony and Kelly pulled it all together. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! If there was an issue, we didn't notice it or wasn't obvious to us. Entrusting Kelly to coordinate and officiate our wedding was the best decision ever. We were able to relax and truly enjoy our day with friends and family. Thank you, Kelly!

    Couldn't Have Done It Without Kelly

    As a COVID bride, I was unsure how, if at all, I was going to get married in 2020. Kelly was understanding, compassionate, skilled, knowledgable, and about every other human quality you could possibly want out of a coordinator and person during these trying times. She helped us get our June wedding on track for October in a matter of days once we made the decision to postpone. Then, in early August, my last surviving grandparent was diagnosed with late stage cancer. I was a mess, had no idea what to do, and was devastated at the thought of my grandfather not being able to make it to our wedding day (especially since it was supposed to happen months ago). I called Kelly, and when I say she went above and beyond, I mean she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us push our wedding up to September on a date in-between my grandfather's treatments. And let me tell you - it was magical. I seriously cannot imagine a better way to have gotten married. Kelly literally took care of everything that day, entertained about a dozen calls from me in the 3 days before the big day, and made it so that on the day of the wedding, I was stress-free and able to enjoy the sheer fact that I was getting married and that my grandfather would be able to witness it in person. So, from our 200 person wedding in a big church to a 20 person micro-wedding in my backyard, Kelly helped me achieve the impossible of getting married in 2020 and she did it with flying colors. We are so grateful to Kelly for all her help, expertise, and aweseome-ness. She gets 100/5 stars. Thank you Kelly!

    The BEST Coordinator, ever!

    Kelly is simply amazing. Period. Hire her and you won't have to worry about your big day, you'll just get to enjoy it. :)
    We met her at a wedding vendor open house. I noticed her full tattoo sleeves, and was intrigued. When I walked up to her, she handed me a bag that said "Engaged AF"... I was like, this girl gets me! LOL... We had just started looking at wedding vendors and were so worried that everyone would be stuffy and impersonal, but Kelly is a breath of fresh air! I have no doubt that she can work with any type of bride, any where, any time. She was so warm and down to earth, but also 110% professional and knowledgeable. All my family and friends loved her, and several commented that she really was a ninja the night of the wedding, seemingly everywhere all at once! She was ON IT! And she's not just a "day of" coordinator- she worked with us all throughout the process. She kept us SO organized with her spreadsheets and floor plans! Planning a wedding during a pandemic was hell, no doubt about it, but we could never had done it without her. She kept us sane, answered alllll of my constant worries with poise and put me at ease, and juggled every twist we sent her way. I can't sing her praises high enough. We love you, Kelly!     Hire. Kelly. For your wedding.

    When I got engaged, the advice I was given repeatedly from my friends who had been married recently was to hire a day-of-coordinator. I heard from people who did it and were thrilled, and people who didn't and really wished they had. So when I ran into Kelly at a vendor open house and thought "she seems like she knows what she's doing, and she's funny," that was enough for us to hire her almost on the spot. She then spent the next 8 months completely blowing my expectations out of the water--even before the "day of" the wedding, she had multiple hour long phone conferences with me to go through everything from vendor choices to (practically) a minute-by-minute schedule of the ceremony, she answered every little tiny question I had, and kept track of everything in a killer google worksheet. She came to our final venue walkthrough and helped us make a plan with our venue coordinator for EVERYTHING--she was able to ask and answer questions I never in a million years would have thought of. 

    Her work and presence on the wedding weekend was, of course, completely indispensable--she helped us through the nitty gritty details of the ceremony during the rehearsal, and gave everyone super clear instructions on what we would be doing. The day of the wedding she not only got all the various things that we brought for the ceremony/reception where they needed to go (it's amazing how much stuff you end up bringing, even for a wedding that is NOT super DIY!), she ensured that every single person what where they needed to be every minute of the night. It was truly as if she multiplied herself and was everywhere at once! As the bride, I didn't have to deal with a THING--I just got to completely and totally enjoy the day. Actually, there are probably a thousand things she did that day and before that I couldn't even list, because I didn't even know they happened! She is really that good. 

    In conclusion, I'm a both a planner by nature and a person who takes pride in paying attention to and having a hand in small details--and I can say completely and totally that I never could have planned and executed what was 100% my dream wedding without Kelly. (Also, tbh, she IS really funny).

    Best Day of Coordinator...Ever.

    Kelly is basically a mix between Wonder Woman and the Flash, and then multiply that by a billion. She is absolutely incredible! She is super knowledgeable about everything weddings; from the flow of events, to the placement of design elements, to setting up design elements, to mitigating last minute hiccups, to keeping everything moving along, to getting everyone where they need to be, etc.
    We had our wedding at the Cloisters Castle and we 100% could not have done it without Kelly. She is seriously a ninja, she was re-purposing things I didn't even know we could re purpose, and she only contacted me once the day of the wedding because of slight issue with the centerpieces, but by the time she called me she had already figured out the solution. She has done tons of events at the castle which really helped us feel confident about choosing her as our day of coordinator.
    Once the event was over, she, along with the staff, packed up everything to make it super easy to pack into our cars to take back home. I can't express how important it is to have a day of coordinator to set everything up and keep everything flowing along, but if you have any room in the budget at all, she is as necessary as anything else you could possible spend money on. If you're still deciding who to choose as a day of coordinator, or if you need one at all, look no further, pick Kelly, you need her!

    Kelly earned her title of"wedding Ninja" hands down!

    As the MOG Kelly kept us all informed and helped with the entire planning process. Her spreadsheets, schedules, floor plans and timelines are on point, & professional. Her day of execution made us not have to worry about anything knowing she took care of everything from rehearsal to set up with having the day running smoothly with all the vendors and telling everyone where to go and what to do so we could sit back and enjoy everything. I would HIGHLY recommend hiring Kelly for your wedding! It was the best decision that the MOB made for us and exceeded everyone's expectations with the final outcome being a dream wedding for my son and his bride fit for a prince & princess!!!!     If you are on the fence, HIRE KELLY!

    I resisted the hiring of Kelly at first just due to it being an added cost, but no single expense was as beneficial, stress reducing, and SMART of an idea as having Kelly manage the planning and the execution of my wedding. It was literally perfect in every way. Every vendor we spoke to breathed a sigh of relief when we mentioned that Kelly was involved with our wedding.. the decision to hire her was as close to a guarantee for a flawless event as you can get! I only found out AFTER my wedding of some near-misses just because Kelly was so on top of things.l and concerned with my and my husbands experience. For example, I was vehemently against a garter “dive” up my dress. Unfortunately someone may have missed the memo on how against that I was and placed a chair in the center of the dance floor. Kelly noticed that before I did (I found out after) and RAN to remove it and redirect the scenario quickly and efficiently, with no hurt feelings. She was on FIRE the whole night making sure every detail was perfect. Her support and getting us on track was SO necessary due to us all working full time, managing the deployments of myself and my husband, and just generally being super busy. Don’t even think twice about hiring Kelly. Her vendor recommendations, task direction and event management expertise saved us so much stress during the planning and the event itself. It was truly a pleasure working with her! Thank you, Kelly, for making my wedding so special!!!

    Incredible wedding coordinator !


    Kelly was wonderful to work with. She was extremely organized, and passionate about helping our daughter create the wedding of her dreams.
    On several occasions, while in the planning stage, she would need to re-focus us, or get us back on track. The bride was living 3000 miles away and in the Coast Guard, which often complicated things.
    I have never paid for someone to help me coordinate an event before, but it was the best money that i have ever spent!
    Kelly, has the ability to take charge of situations, while calming and organizing on the fly.
    She worked with all of the vendors extremely well, to coordinate everyone, before and during the wedding.
    It was amazing how Kelly, was on top of potential problems, during the event, before they were able to became issues. She knew the plan and was artful in accomplishing it.

    Such an amazing coordinator!!!!!

    We reached out Kelly just about a 1-1.5 month prior to our wedding for day of services. Kelly was very friendly and her communication was prompt. We had a lot of planning to do with Kelly to get her caught up. She was quick to catch up and learn about myself and my now wife. I basically gave her a list of our vendors, and decorations and combined our officiants ceremony guide and Kelly went at it with organizing a time line, and planning the day. Kelly even reached out to our venue so she could get a walk through as she’s never been there. After her walk through she made me aware and gave some more pointers with the day of. During our rehearsal she worked great with our officiant to practice the ceremony and to get everyone lined up. I couldn’t ask for anyone better with preparation. Now come the day of. It was raining. Bummer. That didn’t stop Kelly. She actually arrived earlier then planned to help account for the weather and so the alternative plan with weather could be figured out. She let the wedding party know exactly what we needed to do with the last minute change. Then prior to the wedding ceremony, Kelly went at it decorating the venue, making sure all vendors arrived and were set up before guests arrived. I left the decorations for Kelly to place around how she felt was best. Kelly helped to make sure all the wedding made it to the ceremony in the right orders, and organized. During the reception Kelly kept us on time and on track so we could use our photographer and videographers time to fullest. During pictures Kelly even went the extra step to bring us drinks, and appetizers. Made sure the umbrella was readily available incase the rain picked back up during pictures. Kelly made sure the guests were able to be seated. Kelly went above and beyond that day. My boutonniere has broke right after the ceremony. Kelly saved the day and fixed it up for pictures. I could express how awesome Kelly was for the day. Well worth every penny spent. And to add to it, not only did she help clean up and pack everything away, she made sure we got the marriage license back and signed. But a few days after the ceremony we thought we may have forgot a sign at the venue which my sister made for us. Kelly reached out to the venue events manager and have them check and even offered to go pick the sign up for us since we will be away. Kelly was super amazing. Her keen to detail, attention to time, and amazing personality is well worth a 10 star rating.

    Kelly=Superwoman with an iPad

    Wow! I don't even know where to begin. I am what many would call your quintessential Type A/Control Freak. I stress and I worry about everything and I have never met anyone who could put me at such at ease as Kelly Brittingham. I felt so comfortable the day of our wedding knowing that everything was in Kelly's hands. The month leading up to my Wedding I was stress free, at ease, and so excited about everything that all of my friends and family commented multiple times how shocked they were that I wasn't completely overwhelmed and I owe all of that to Kelly. Throughout this entire process Kelly answered every single one of my questions (trust me there were many). Despite being a Day of Coordinator she was so much more offering recommendations, advice, and support the entire time. She was a true badass basically superwoman with an iPad. She was detailed and thought of things 10 steps ahead of me. She asked critical questions and made me feel like I was her only bride even though I'm sure she had a ton of Weddings. I can't express enough how much I think you should hire Kelly. She made sure our entire Wedding ran flawlessly. She enacted my vision without error and made our Wedding Day the most amazing day ever.

    Couldn't have done it without her

    When my now-husband and I decided to have a backyard crab feast wedding, we initially thought "oh this will be easy!" FALSE. We quickly learned that the logistics of any wedding, particularly one in your own backyard, are complicated. We met Kelly and immediately clicked - we knew right away she would be an advocate for us with any vendors and trusted her abilities to help us pull this off. The day of the wedding could not have gone any better, and that is in LARGE part thanks to Kelly and her assistant, Julia. They were willing to go completely above and beyond with the things I asked them to do - including distributing and cleaning up LOTS of crab mess (probably not something they would consider a normal wedding planner duty, but they were more than willing to take it on to make my day turn out the way we wanted!). From setup to breakdown, Kelly and Julia were invaluable to us and I truly believe we couldn't have done it without their help!

    Kelly was truly amazing, skillful, down to earth, energetic and extremely essential to a smoothly orchestrated wedding. She was everywhere and knew exactly when and who and what needed to happen when and responded to every need. She was kind supportive and patient even when others like the catering manager seemed annoyed and stressed. My daughter had a beautiful wedding and we truly owe it to Kelly for making all the last minute details and decorating and the wedding day go so well, and making it so easy for the bride and families.     Hire her now!

    If you are thinking about hiring the wedding ninja for your wedding, then stop thinking and do it now. You will not regret it. In fact, if you are still reading then you have already wasted time that could be spent hiring an amazing wedding coordinator. I’ve heard rumors that a wedding day can be stressful, but I have no idea what that actually feels like because Kelly and her team had the day running smoothly and stress free. Our wedding wasn’t exactly what I would call traditional either. It was a themed wedding with a lot of decorations and moving parts (our center pieces literally moved). Kelly had everything set up and looking amazing, had us in the places when needed to be when we needed to be there, and most importantly, a drink in our hands as soon as we got to the end of the aisle as husband and wife. Kelly was amazing and I couldn’t imagine our day going as smoothly without her.

    Kelly to the rescue !

    I would rate Kelly B. A.K.A. “The Wedding Ninja” a 10+ Day of Coordinator for my daughter’s beautiful wedding just a few weeks ago. As the M.O.B. I was handling all the logistics and administration duties for my daughter’s mini-destination wedding (an hour and a half from our hometown and eleven hours from where my daughter lives).

    The wedding was at a waterfront venue that was absolutely perfect for what we wanted however it did come with the potential risk of a massive storm disruption and I wanted to be prepared just in case. Our wedding venue did have an outstanding wedding coordinator and support staff that was working with us and they had everything under control and organized on their end BUT I knew I needed help to cover the non-venue planning and logistics for our multi-day wedding/reunion/ massive Sunday after party. With no amount of planning on my part could I do it alone. We had family and friends coming in from all over the country, a total of six large house rentals in addition to our hotel room blocks. I also happened to know Kelly had experience with weddings and big storms and this is the person I wanted.

    Unlike other coordinators who have package rates, Kelly charges an hourly rate for her Day of Coordinating and she doesn’t charge for the many phone calls and emails leading up to the wedding day. Kelly and I started communicating about ten months prior to the wedding date. She is majorly organized and took every document and paper scrap I supplied her and saved them in an easy to read shared Google spreadsheet with tabs for each wedding topic: timeline, vendor contacts, décor, ceremony, Rain Plan ….etc. She carried around an iPad with everything at her fingertips for retrieval. She scrutinized the timeline, made adjustments and made sure all the other vendors had a final copy.

    Kelly was always confident, calm, cool and collected and very reassuring with everything we discussed and didn’t hesitate to tell me when she thought we may have a glitch with something. Kelly was always easy to reach and kept in close contact as the wedding day got closer. Having Kelly also at the wedding rehearsal the evening before was a big help. On the morning of the wedding she texted me bright and early to check in and I said I was fine (which was an untruth). I immediately called her back and said nope, “I Need Help !” I had got caught up on miscellaneous things and had ran out of time. I started rambling off what I needed, and she said “I got it”. Kelly met me at our rental house while we were getting ready so I could unload all my last-minute to-do items and décor boxes on her to drive over to the venue.

    The wedding was Awesome, better than we could have anticipated or dreamed of !!! Best of all I was able to enjoy being with my daughter the entire day. I told Kelly she had carte blanche and I trusted her completely to make any changes or decisions she felt necessary without even asking me. If there were any major glitches, I wasn’t aware of them. Kelly was there when we realized my now son-in- law left his honeymoon suitcase in the back of his car at his rental house. We tossed her the car keys and gave her some quick directions and next thing I know she had already returned, task completed. True story, one of the bridesmaids accidentally fell off the adjacent boat dock and into the water during the reception and was soaking wet and tore her dress and didn’t want anyone else to find out. Kelly came in and volunteered to take her back to her the bridal party rental house for a quick outfit change. I’m not sure where Kelly even came from, she just appeared at the right moment.

    I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kelly and miss her and would absolutely choose her again as our Day of Coordinator when/if my other daughter gets married !

    One last thing….Kelly gladly takes any left-over flowers home with her at the end of the wedding night and the next day , along with her young daughters, they personally take them to a local nursing home for the patients/residents to enjoy :)

    Couldn't have done it without her!

    Kelly was our day-of coordinator for our wedding at the Cloisters Castle and SHE. WAS. FANTASTIC! We could never have pulled it off without her. From the start, she’s a bundle of energy and positivity and it’s absolutely contagious. We knew from the start we didn’t want to ask a family member or friend to “help decorate” (aka work) during our wedding, so we knew we’d want to hire someone. What we didn’t fully realize is that there’s much, much more that goes into a wedding than decorating the venue. While Kelly may have been our “day of” coordinator, her help and expertise started way before the day of.

    Her wedding packet was super helpful when it came to organizing our timeline, vendors, decor, etc. She made sure everything ran on schedule when both myself and the groom completely lost track of time. She made sure family was there during our first dance when we didn’t want to make a huge announcement. She made sure we ATE so we didn’t die. She also managed to bustle an un-bustle-able dress. (Long story short, we found out 10 minutes before our introductions that my seamstress didn’t make the bustle holes big enough for the buttons).

    I found myself immediately trusting her instinct and opinion and stressing way less than I thought I would. If you’re looking to get married at the Cloisters, don’t even think twice. Seriously. Her knowledge of the venue helped put me at ease even more so (along with her personality and experience obviously.) Moral of the story, Kelly is a fun, quirky, enthusiastic wedding planner and you’re missing out if you don’t include her on your special day.

    They get sh*t done!!!

    Oh man, this team is the GREATEST!! We worked with both Kelly and Julia during our event, and I cannot say enough good things about them! They are boss b*tches and make the world spin! At my most stressed, they calmed me and made the process easy as pie. They are organized, professional, hilarious and warm! We couldn't have done it without Kelly and Julia!

    Truly a wedding ninja

    Kelly was worth every penny. I was able to wake up on my wedding day with excitement and not dread. She went above and beyond in so many instances. She was willing to get table assignments when I thought we forgot them, she dealt with vendor communications that I wasn’t comfortable with and even offered to wrangle anyone I was worried about being a drunk mess! She on the fly hemmed a bridesmaid dress, fixed a big, but funny, mistake the MOH made on a sign and seamlessly cleaned everything up so we didn’t have to worry about it. She was such a joy to work with and kept me focused. I highly recommend Kelly! So glad she was apart of the best day of our lives so far.

    The person who made our wedding stress free

    I never actually read these past reviews before hiring kelly, as she came highly recommended from our venue, but looking at them, it makes total sense. From the beginning of our planning, I was always under the mentality that I could do everything and that I didn’t need a planner. Kelly proved me wrong. She was everything I didn’t think I needed. She took every single stress out of our wedding day, and delt with family members day of that I did not want to deal with. She came up with our timeline for the event, which was spot on. Kept to that schedule, almost up to the exact minute, and truly was the glue to allow our wedding to run smoothly. She ran our rehearsal in a way that everyone truly knew what they were doing the next day. My day ran perfectly, and I truly believe it was because of her. She took our vision and made it a reality. I cannot say enough good things about our experience, and would 1000x recommend her to anyone who wants the day to be stress free for them. We loved you kelly, Thank you for making our day special. Side note, we had a minor structure failure (my fault, danced a little too hard and knocked the chuppah over). Kelly and the team literally cleaned it up, took it apart, and no one was phased. The party kept continuing because of her.

    Best wedding decision I made!

    As a DIY bride with a limited budget, I went back and forth a million times regarding whether I really needed a day of coordinator. I finally took the plunge and scheduled an intro call with Kelly to learn more about her services. Needless to say, she had me hooked in the first 5 minutes. Not only is she warm and personable, but she literally thinks of all of the things that would have never even cross my mind. Early on, my biggest dilemma was trying to figure out a quick transition from my ceremony to the reception since it was all happening in the same space. After discussing for a few minutes, Kelly sent me a complete mock up layout of our venue that addressed all my concerns. On the day before our wedding, Kelly came to the rehearsal early to help us finish setting up and had some great suggestions about how to set up the buffet and bar area. She also helped to put together a 5-star charcuterie extravaganza during our cocktail hour that blew all of our guests away. Really the best way to describe her and the rest of the Wedding Ninja team is that they are always ready and willing to go above and beyond to get the job done. I would 100% recommend Kelly and the Wedding Ninja team to any couples planning their weddings. Definitely the best wedding decision I made.

    Kelly is worth every penny (and more)!

    My husband and I hired Kelly as a day-of coordinator. Admittedly, I was hesitant to hire a coordinator because I am a bit of a control freak. But event planning is not exactly my expertise, and my husband and I wanted to truly enjoy our reception without having to worry about all the intricacies. I quickly learned that Kelly is an expert in her field. During our site visit, she took the time to get to know both my husband and I – this allowed her to better understand our vision for the reception. Kelly created a detailed timetable spreadsheet, personally contacted all the vendors that we independently hired, and instantly responded to our (many) e-mails. She immediately stepped in to offer recommendations when the bakery we ordered cupcakes from closed for business 2 weeks before our reception. On the day of the event, Kelly was a true ninja – she organized the vendors, decorated the venue, and addressed all issues that arose without my husband and I even knowing anything was wrong. Kelly is not only a fantastic coordinator, she is also a genuinely considerate person. Kelly was eager to introduce herself to our families, and she offered to donate our reception flowers to the residents at Symphony Manor. Kelly sincerely wants her clients to have the stress-free wedding of their dreams – she allowed my husband and I to have ours, and I guarantee she will do the same for you!

    Perfect for Everyone

    I can not begin to explain how amazing Kelly is. Imagine planning your wedding and everything starts going wrong. By everything I don't just mean a few wedding details; my now husband had been part of a mass layoff, both of us were diagnosed with severe health issues, we were in the process of buying and overseeing the building of our new house and trying to keep that plan on track. I was originally against the idea of a wedding coordinator but I met her at a Cloisters Castle open house and she spoke of her job with such ease and enthusiasm that she made us immediately smile and feel at ease. She made me realize how much I needed a coordinator to take some of the load off my plate. She worked around our hectic schedule and never complained about the numerous emails we sent and how many questions we had. If you have any questions about planning your wedding, from big items such as vendors and small items such as the color of your centerpieces, Kelly can answer it. Planning your wedding should be fun. It is a process you should enjoy and savor, not stress out over. Nothing about my wedding was traditional. It was in a castle, I walked down the isle to Star Wars, we incorporated several Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Guardians of Galaxy, etc. references in to our wedding and Kelly loved it. Day of, my grandmother lost my bouquet, my father lost my bag that contained my strapless bra, my mom was running late and she was supposed to set up all the table centerpieces, and several other complications. Kelly took everything in stride and immediately handled all problems within minutes without bothering me or the groom and kept everything running smoothly. So if you want a coordinator who does everything she can to accommodate everything you want and makes the day-of process one less thing for you to worry about then look no further, The Wedding Ninja has the people you need.

    One of the best wedding-related decisions we made!

    I initially wasn't sure if I wanted a day-of coordinator but, as our plans began to take shape, I realized that there was no way we (bride and groom without a wedding party who didn't want to burden friends or family with day-of coordination tasks) would be able to execute everything without losing our minds on the actual day. I didn't contact Kelly until about four months before our wedding day. Kelly was already booked to work a wedding on our day but, fortunately, Julia was available. For the few months just before our big day (when my anxiety was at its highest), Julia and Kelly could not have been more helpful or on top of things. They are so experienced and, as an added benefit, had coordinated multiple weddings at my venue. They were incredibly responsive and fun and easy to work with. I received several comments from wedding guests that the event flowed very naturally. I would recommend the Wedding Ninja in a heartbeat. Thank you, Kelly and Julia, for making our day come together so beautifully!

    The little details mattered!

    My son was married on November 10 with Kelly as the wedding coordinator (ninja!). My husband suffers from RA and starting having severe body cramps. When we asked Kelly where the nearest store was to purchase quinine water, she took it upon herself to purchase the water herself. Now that's awesome service!!!

    Amazing!!!

    Hire Kelly! She was fantastic! All through the planning process and the wedding itself, Kelly was completely sharp and professional while still really fun and easygoing. Kelly was amazingly responsive to all our questions for the entire planning process. She quickly understood our style and made recommendations accordingly. On the wedding day, Kelly and Julia managed to be in about nine million places at once while still being incredibly friendly to all our guests. Having Kelly on board made it so easy for us and for our families to enjoy the wedding without having to worry at all about the logistics. Kelly was also amazing value for money, her recommendations and her help made it possible for us to pull off some DIY elements that made the wedding really special for us. Thank you Kelly!     Worth Her Weight in Gold

    Kelly made my daughters wedding day absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. Responsive throughout the entire process ..she handled every detail flawlessly. Even taking care of issues that had nothing to do with her...I can't imagine how the day would have turned out without Kelly. She has a way of reading the client and knowing how to pull it all together..her advice was invaluable. I dropped off some decorations and came back a few hours later...done.. and it looked like something out of a magazine. She's organized, professional and the name fits..believe me! If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thank you Kelly for making my daughters wedding day magical!!

    Fantastic, Amazing and all the other good words you can think of!

    Kelly was my day of coordinator and made sure everything was set up perfectly! She worked with all my vendors and kept them on track and helped set up and move the many rentals I had. She kept our bridal parties in line and where they needed to be, which was not an easy task being 18 of them and then our parents. She made sure the day ran smoothly and helped keep my nerves calm. She was leaving before the end of the wedding and still packed up all our gifts and ceremony decor prior to leaving. I am so happy we had her for the day of as she made it soooo much easier for me! If you need a day of coordinator I would highly recommend Kelly!

    love love LOVE the Wedding Ninja!

    Kelly is an amazing person and a phenomenal coordinator! We weren't sure if we needed a coordinator but we're so glad we got one. Kelly was very patient with my busy schedule and helped us walk through every detail for the wedding. She calmed my nerves multiple times and made our wedding flow perfectly. Guests were coming up to us all night telling us how amazing the wedding was and how well everything was flowing. I had a stress-free wedding day thanks to Kelly!

    So amazing!

    We were on the fence about getting a wedding planner vs. coordinator and were so glad that we went with Kelly for our wedding coordination! From the beginning, she was so prompt and helpful with every question we had. She was so patient and kind throughout the whole process, even when things did not go as expected or were stressful! She always found a way to ease any concerns that we had or smooth out any bumps we came across. She went above and beyond the day after our wedding helping, to take care of rentals and items that we brought for our reception. We highly recommend Kelly and her team! She was such an important part of our day being as memorable as it was.

    Kelly was beyond awesome. Really my only regret is not hiring her earlier in the process. I spent so much time researching things, when there were so many questions she could have just answered. But the main thing I can't stress enough is how invaluable she turned out to be in terms of helping us focus on deciding all the details, organizing every single aspect of the day, corralling our large wedding party for the rehearsal, and then being a superhero the day of. I'm pretty sure she was running around the entire day, finding and solving problems. She was VERY concerned about making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and would have followed any direction we threw at her, no matter how numerous and specific. But we gave her a bit more freedom for some things, and we're SO glad we did! When things got lost or mixed up, she improvised, and nailed it every time. No matter what it was, she was on it. I am not over-exaggerating when I say that if we hadn't hired her, our day would have been a disaster. Seriously. There's not enough room here to list out all the times and ways she saved the day. Kelly is a true pro, and we couldn't be more grateful to her!!!

    When I first hired Kelly for my son and his fiancee we were not sure why we needed her but thought we might. It soon became clear we needed help setting up decorations, which Kelly and her assistant did beautifully. Two month before the wedding it became clear she was so much more. Kelly was the point of contact for the various vendors, she helped put together the timeline, made suggestions of how things flow best in the venue, and most of all she dealt with all of our many emails in such a timely fashion. We used her services for rehearsal as well to iron out the details. Day of services were a must, from helping a groomsman with his man bun, bringing drinks and food to the wedding party during photos, attending to our needs at every turn. The few things that did not go exactly to plan were quickly resolved so guests did not even notice. At the end of the night Kelly and her assistant loaded the gifts, decorations and left over alcohol into our cars for pick up the next day. Kelly takes the stress off, I don't know how we would have done without her. Kelly herself is professional and has a great positive personality and she is very reasonably priced. The Wedding Ninja services were in a word invaluable.

    Kelly’s awesome. She made our wedding day run smoothly. I highly recommend her day of coordination services and rehearsal day help. There were some issues on my wedding day but I didn’t know about them until later, she was quick to resolve any problems. My wedding day was stress free and perfect.

    Kelly was wonderful to work with! She kept us organized and had everything running on time. She spent time talking to us before the wedding to make sure she understood everything we needed and to help us make decisions regarding timeline and order. She even took all the decorations and gifts for us after the wedding and gave them to us the next day. It was so nice not to have to worry about any of those details the day of the wedding.     I honestly have no idea what we would have done without Kelly. My (now ) husband and I didn't have any issues with big-picture wedding planning like selecting vendors, but were pretty lost when it came to figuring out how to make all of the small details come together. Kelly handled all of that BEAUTIFULLY: She listened to our ideas, had suggestions to make things run more smoothly, and calmed us down when we felt overwhelmed. She wrangled families for the rehearsal, ceremony, and pictures; she handled the logistics from creating a floor plan to setting up decor to packing everything up for us (she even brought in her own plants to decorate the reception space!); she had drinks in our hands as soon as the ceremony was over. I cannot describe what a relief it was to be able to hand everything over to Kelly on our wedding day and know it was going to get handled. The weather forecast was very iffy leading up to our day, and she came up with backup plans for everything in about 30 seconds. Plus she's just an awesome person!

    Hands-down the best money we spent for the wedding. It was absolutely priceless to be able to actually enjoy our day without worrying about all the little details. We completely trusted Kelly to run the show and it could not have gone better.

    Kelly gets it done and she's the nicest badass you will ever meet! Bridal suite didn't have AC...Kelly goes and borrows her in-laws fan. Family missing for pictures... moments later she appears! Wedding party had a few drinks and not paying attention...Kelly in a polite sterness gets them to together. Me the stressed bride... Kelly: "Here's a drink". Lovely, professional, and when I say I wouldn't have made it through my wedding without her it's no exaggeration. Very thankful we found her :)

    Kelly was phenomenal throughout our entire wedding journey. Her a la crate options allowed us to get a package that perfectly suited our needs, and she more than lived up to our expectations. My husband says hiring her was one of the best choices we made during the planning process. She wrangled our rowdy families and ensured everyone was where they needed to be when.     We had Katie for our October 21st wedding and she was worth every penny. I say she was a trooper because unbeknownst to her there were many "unofficial coordinators" in the room (lol) and she handled it with grace. We have two big cross-cultural families with many traditions and she was quite flexible. My hall was setup very well as we wanted and she was efficient. Thanks Katie!

    Hiring Kelly was one of the best decisions my wife and I made for our wedding. First of all, her approach to providing services was different than most other coordinators we found online; rather than providing a set package of services (many of which we wouldn't have needed), she works by the hour and allows you to designate what you will need from her and her assistants on your wedding day. Also, they will decorate your venue!

    But the best part of choosing The Wedding Ninja as our coordinator was Kelly, herself. She is incredibly friendly, funny, and easy to work with. She is highly organized, quick to respond to emails, and makes herself very available to her clients. She was on top of all of the details throughout the entire planning process, and my wife and I were completely confident that our wedding would go smoothly with Kelly helping us run things.

    Kelly ran our rehearsal, which went great, and was completely on top of things for the ceremony as well. She was making sure my wife and I were always in the right places at the right time, making sure guests found their way to their seats, and all around just making sure everything went off without a hitch, which it did. Our ceremony was exactly how we had planned/imagined it.

    As I mentioned before, Kelly and her team are also able to handle decorating. We had discussed all of our decorating plans with her well ahead of time and then she and her assistants went to the reception venue ahead of the ceremony and made our vision a reality. When we and all of our guests arrived, the venue looked incredible. Kelly and her team had executed our plan flawlessly, and we couldn't have been happier.

    The bottom line is, Kelly truly is a wedding ninja, and all of her efforts helped to make our special day absolutely perfect. She took care of everything so that we were able to be present and enjoy our day, stress-free. If you hire her, you will not regret it. Thank you, Kelly!

    Kelly was a blessing to work with! She helped termediously with the prepping, gave recommendations and worked with us so well. Our wedding went so smoothly, she worked with my vendors well and we were very happy to have her there for us. My husband was extremely excited she made sure to save a plate of vovktail appitizers for him and grabbed him a beer when we were seated. She helped rangle guests and find people for me!     Kelly blew us away and made our day so easy!

    I was referred to Kelly by a friend who used her for their wedding. During the week of, Kelly was in constant contact and ready for anything. She made sure we coordinated plans and prep so that we were in the best shape for the day of to get everything up and ready ahead of time (not a small feat, I had a huge venue and a lot of decor!)
    Day of I didn’t know of a single thing that went wrong, she took care of everything. I also love how beautifully she worked with other vendors, and left with a lot of social media connections and positive comments from everyone from guests to other vendors. that to me is a true mark of being a great coordinator! Kelly, though I never want to have to get married again I would hire you again in an instant!

Kelly ensured that our rehearsal ran smoothly, that our vendors knew what was going on, that we ran on schedule, that the decorations I worked so hard on were all set up, and that any problems were quickly dealt with.     Kelly is an amazing wedding coordinator and you want her there on your wedding day. She is extremely organized, responsive, and very professional. I had a Hindu ceremony and reception and was worried that I couldn't find a coordinator that may be able to understand what's going on, but Kelly and her assistant asked the right questions, were really prepared, and coordinated with all the vendors in advance so that everyone knew what to do. There were some last minute things that came up and Kelly took care of them immediately. When you hire Kelly, you don't just get a day of coordinator - she works with you well in advance giving you a day-of timeline to fill out and going over it in detail. My family couldn't stop talking about how great she was and how we would love to hire her if anyone else in our family had a wedding! She is so reasonably priced but is worth WAY more than she charges. Thank you Kelly for everything - you were amazing!

    Kelly was the day of coordinator for my wedding this past weekend but she was so much more than that. From the very beginning she was always there to help me make decisions, giving me her opinion on what would work and how I should go about doing something. Her wedding packet helped me tremendously keep everything in line and organize my wedding/ timeline perfectly. She is just so cool, down to earth, calm and professional. At the rehearsal, she was able to rally all of us up go through everything really quickly but in a way that we all knew what we were doing the day of. On the actual wedding day she was extremely flexible with any changes I had to make. She kicked butt decorating, my venue looked exactly how I pictured it would. She was so good at making sure everything went on schedule, that everything was timed perfectly, people were in the right places. She even had to help bustle my dress! I would have been so lost without her during this whole process. Thank you so so much Kelly. If anyone is thinking about hiring a day of coordinator HIRE the wedding Ninja! You will not regret it!! She is so reasonably priced for how much work she puts into your wedding. You are the best of the best!!

    My daughter, the bride, will also be writing a review of the Wedding Ninja, but because Kelly was so fabulous, I decided to write a review as the mother of the bride. My daughter was married Labor Day weekend and Kelly's goal was to make planning as seamless as possible. She responded to emails right away, offered to do tasks that I would not have thought of, organized the wedding day that made it perfect, and one of the highlights, was having our cars packed and ready to go by the end of the evening.     Kelly was fantastic to work with. My wedding was not in a traditional wedding venue and I knew I was going to need a lot of help organizing everything and finding vendors. Kelly was the first vendor I hired, well over a year in advance of my wedding. I frequently emailed her asking for advice on just about everything, she was always quick to respond. She lead the charge at the rehearsal which was a huge help because I never felt stressed. On the day of the wedding she was a total boss. I had so many people ask me whole the lady was running around with the clipboard because they were impressed with her. She helped setup all the last minute decorations the morning of the wedding so we didn’t have to worry about it. The whole day ran smoothly because of her attention to detail. I would definitely recommend using Kelly for your wedding.

    Hiring Kelly as our day of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Kelly impressed us from the moment we contacted her – she responded quickly, provided us with important information, offered suggestions for vendors and decor, and made it clear that she was available to us whenever we needed her input.

    Within the month leading up to the wedding, we met her in person to do a walk-through of the venue and go over the logistics of the day. A week before the wedding, we had a video-conference call to once again go over the logistics and ensure that we were all on the same page. The day before the wedding, Kelly met us at the venue and led our rehearsal. And on the day of our wedding, Kelly and her assistant were at the venue before we arrived to make sure that everything was getting set up, our vendors and guests knew where to go, and the ceremony and reception would stay on schedule.

    Your wedding day is a whirlwind. There is so much going on and there are so many people asking you questions. Kelly took much of that pressure off of our shoulders, allowing us to focus on what mattered most – getting married. It is because of Kelly that our wedding day went flawlessly (even with an unexpected downpour in the middle of the ceremony). She kept the party going and did so with professionalism, grace, and a positive attitude. We couldn’t be more grateful to her.

    Kelly was absolutely amazing! I truly do not know what we would have done without her. She was a consummate professional, so prepared, capable, and attentive to our needs at all times. My husband was very reticent about hiring a wedding coordinator at first, but he ended up being incredibly relieved and happy that we had Kelly there the day of. I can't recommend her highly enough!     Just do it. Don’t overthink this. You won’t regret it!

    Casey’s POV: We’re so glad we had a DOC. From the start, The Wedding Ninja was AWESOME. Kelly was prompt letting us know she was already booked,but Katy would be our gal. Katy followed up right away, laid out all the details, and made us feel secure. She told us when she’d be in touch, gave us “homework,” and pretty much left it at that. I’m Type A, so I loved that she provided us with an Excel to fill in, and it helped us stay sane.

    Katy also set up her own venue walk-through, and she was totally honest that she’d need another hour to set up string lights. Because, oh yeah! We asked Katy and her assistant, Christina, to set up lights for the reception so we didn’t have to hire a lighting company.

    Plus, Katy talked w/ us the week-of, ran our rehearsal, and kept us calm the entire week. As far as the day-of goes, I felt totally serene. NOTHING went wrong, at least not from what we could tell. And at the end of the night, these two angels packed up EVERYTHING (decorations, gifts, string lights) and returned it to our room. When we came back at 2am, everything was packed as neat as could be. I’m tearing up just thinking about how much care they put into making sure we had as little to do as possible.

    These friendly, badass chicks have their shit together and know how to handle people. Whether you’re Type A or B, stressed as balls or chill, they’ll give you total peace of mind. It’s worth the investment, which btw, is so reasonable, it’s insane.

    Ben’s POV: Ditto! But I have to add that KATY IS MY HERO! While all that was happening, Katy and I were being sneaky. As soon as we booked her, I told Katy I wanted to surprise Casey w/ a mariachi band following our ceremony. To my relief, it was no problem, and Katy made sure it all went off w/out a hitch. When the reveal finally came, Casey lost her mind! It was PRICELESS, and I would’ve been lost at sea w/out Katy’s help. WE LOVE WEDDING NINJA! Hire them.

    Our venue only had a venue coordinator, but no one designated to be the overall day of coordinator. We were on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator and now we can’t imagine how we would have gotten through the day without Kelly.

    Her services go well beyond just the wedding day as she was available via email for questions. She provides a planning Excel document that helps keep things organized. We worked through multiple iterations of that document with her as she provided very helpful feedback and helped us consider things that we would not have thought of otherwise. We had a final call with her to go over our plans a week before the wedding and she handled all of our last minute changes in stride.

    In addition to hiring her for the wedding, we hired her to come to our rehearsal. She was very helpful in prepping our bridal party for when to walk down the aisle, where to stand, etc. It was great to have her for the rehearsal because everyone felt confident in what they were doing the next day.

    On the day of, she was available to help with everything, from pinning boutonnieres to setting up decorations to helping calm down anxious family members. We also brought our own flowers so it was really helpful that she could set up the centerpieces, welcome table, and flowers for the ceremony since we didn’t have a florist to help. I’m sure there are plenty of behind the scenes things that she did that we don’t even fully appreciate. She was great at coordinating with all of our vendors and making sure everyone was on the same page. At the end of her shift, she even loaded our gifts and other supplies into my wife’s parents’ car. We really appreciated not having to worry about those valuables.

    The bottom line is that Kelly provides a peace of mind that is invaluable. She is well worth the investment (which is significantly less than most day of coordinators) and you will definitely be glad to have her on your team. We highly recommend her!

    I hired Kelly as our day-of wedding coordinator, but she went far beyond just the wedding day! In the months leading up she repeatedly checked in with myself and my MIL to see how things were going and how she could be of help. During the rehearsal her experience really showed through, and as the bride she always made sure that my needs and wants were put above all else. On the day of the wedding Kelly took control over the aspects of the wedding that I had needed her help for and went above and beyond to ensure that the day went as smoothly as possible. She was direct, professional, and passionate about delivering quality service. I would recommend Kelly to any couple that is looking for a coordinator that is on the ball and who will deliver the most value.

    We could not recommend Kelly more highly. She was so organized and made our day completely stress free. Best of all, she was super friendly to us, our guests, and our vendors. Every time something could have become a mishap, she was there, and took care of it. The peace of mind was invaluable since it allowed us to be fully present with our family and friends.     I was the groom at the wedding we had Kelly oversee. She was definitely the wedding ninja as she was perfect at juggling many tasks at once. A lot of other planners might need an assistant or two to accomplish what she did. She made sure we were on time to all of our events, and that everyone was where they were supposed to be. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a planner.

    Kelly and her assistant Katy are AWESOME. Booking The Wedding Ninja was honestly one of the best investments we made. I used to be of the mind that a day of coordinator was a wedding frivolity but after working with Kelly I am now 100% of mind it's a NECESSITY.

    Kelly is available via email all the way up until your official meeting to go over everything with her closer to the wedding. Her email turn around time is shocking- so quick! Something I really appreciated with Kelly was her honesty. We showed her everything we wanted to do and have her do and she told us what she's seen work and not work not because she wanted our day to be perfect. We took her advice and everything was in fact perfect! (Trust your vendors, they will know better than you- seriously!)

    We had insane high winds the day of our wedding that made our outdoor cocktail hour and outdoor option for our reception impossible. She and Katy busted it out and transferred and modified our day entirely indoors with no hiccups at the last minute- working with our vendors seamlessly. It was better than I could have imagined.

    Kelly and Katy cued and monitored our processional and recessional, managed all of our Spotify playlists, gave us 10 min and 5 min warnings before any event (dinner, speeches, dances, etc), put out & arranged all our decorations, replaced candles, moved beer from outside to inside, set aside food for us in a separate room and made sure we ate, made our movie clip reel an indoor possibility when it was supposed to be outside... seriously... they did EVERYTHING and with a smile! If there were any unforeseen issues we would just relay what we wanted to them. It really felt like I would turn around from mentioning what would need to be done and it was already done.

    Our guests even loved Kelly and Katy! Our vendors loved them! Book The Wedding Ninja! It will be the best investment you make for your wedding day. We couldn't have done it without her.

    The bottom line is, we could not have done it without her! Kelly made our dream wedding come true and was such a pleasure to work with. She was clear in her communication leading up to the wedding and when I walked into the reception space, I could not believe how beautiful everything turned out! It was better than I expected. Our reception space also didn't have a freezer and I was having a problem thinking of how to keep our drinks cold. Kelly graciously offered on top of everything else to run out and buy some ice! Our need for her was really to decorate the reception space (as the venue would not allow us to set up the night before) but in addition to that, she also announced the bridal party into the reception, set up the music and played certain songs at the right time, had the venue turn on the air conditioning when it got too hot and even fixed my plate of food for me! It was an all around terrific experience and I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

    We are so thankful that we hired Kelly and can’t imagine having had a better coordinator on our wedding day. Kelly is a terrific communicator, which was critical both to the planning of the wedding and on the day itself. As pleasant as she is professional, Kelly kept our wedding running smoothly and put our minds at ease. Free of concerns about vendors and schedules, we were able to completely enjoy our day. If we had to estimate, we think we enjoyed our wedding 1,000x more because we had Kelly there.

    I've actually never reviewed anything before, but I was so blown away by Kelly's work that I decided to make an exception! We got married at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum last weekend. It's a pretty non-traditional venue, and they had never had a wedding of our size before. Additionally, the museum is run by volunteers, so there is no designated 'wedding expert' there, to say the least. In some ways, we were kind of on our own. Some of our "vendors" were friends, there was a lot of DIY, and a lot of moving parts. I can honestly say that the wedding could not have happened without Kelly and her assistant Heather. Kelly is extremely organized, decisive, and offers great advice. She's seen every problem and challenge before. Kelly worked tirelessly on Friday night and all day Saturday to make sure everything was perfect--including finding a last minute lawn mower at 10 pm the night before the wedding when our venue refused to cut the grass! I am confident that the transitions, timeline, getting vendors paid, etc. would have been total chaos without Kelly. Especially if you're having a DIY kind of wedding with lots of moving parts, you can't afford NOT to have Kelly. That kind of wedding is her bread and butter and she knows it well! The day after the wedding my mom and I recounted the number of times Kelly saved the day. She lowered our stress by so much, and she's also a lot of fun to be around. I can't say enough good things about her. She is a total rock star and is worth way more than she charges!!

    Kelly is great. Professional, knowledgeable, organized, and gives sound advice to totally random wedding planning questions. Answers e-mail quickly and is easy to reach, which is so important when planning a wedding! I found her via a simple Google search, and I'm so glad I did. She quickly made sense out of the challenging parts of our wedding (reception and ceremony 1 hour apart) and we think she generally just did a great job.

    When trying to determine whether or not we needed a day of coordinator, my now husband's exact words were "if paying someone to help you will stop you from acting like this, then pay them all the money we have". When I then told him what Wedding Ninja's fee was, he was elated that we wouldn't have to "pay all the money" for her help.

    Right from the beginning Kelly was super helpful and responsive. She even helped keep me on track when it came to planning by sending reminders and answering all my questions timely. The week of the wedding when my stress was at an all time high, Kelly called me to walk through the day and her competency immediately put me at ease. She took all my texts and emails that week like a champ. By the day of the wedding I never even once thought about whether or not things were getting done or whether or not it would be to my liking. Most of my guests didn't know we had done a DIY wedding and we received so many compliments on how well executed and decorated our wedding was. All the high praise received was thanks to Kelly.

    If anyone is on the fence about a wedding coordinator, I would highly recommend Kelly. She did a phenomenal job within our tight budget and we couldn't be more pleased we didn't have to "pay all the money" :)

    Kelly is truly a wedding ninja! She is so AWESOME! Kelly was so on it, so helpful, and fun! She made everything run so smoothly from start to finish. Not only is she down to earth, calm and collected, but she understands the stress and financial weight wedding planning can bring. Her services are both affordable and 100% worth it. Working with Kelly was the best and easiest decisions we made along the way. She was so organized in the planning stages, so helpful with phone calls and emails. Her help during the rehearsal was incredible. Without her there, we would have been a little lost. Her presence, hard work, and suggestions took a huge weight off our shoulders.     Pardon my language - but Kelly is the SH*T!!!! She helped me in every way possible in making our wedding day perfect. Due to circumstances beyond my control I was feeling totally rushed and wayyyy less organized than I thought I would be as the wedding day approached and Kelly took on all of my craziness like a champ!! She even went as far as to take a call from me the day of the wedding and take notes on her HAND for some last minute things I had forgotten to tell her about. The night flowed so smoothly and Kelly kept everyone on time. My decorations came out flawless and exactly as I had pictured them. She even played bouncer to a potential wedding crasher! I could NOT have done it without Kelly and I HIGHLY recommend her. Pricing is very reasonable as well.

    Kelly was amazing. From the moment our venue opened she was on the ball. She provided great communication with us and our venue and helped save the day for our reception due to earlier weather problems. She was informative, communicative, friendly and efficient. We weren't sure we needed a wedding coordinator but looking back she was the best investment for the wedding. Highly recommend!

    I found Kelly by doing an online search after my first wedding coordinator flaked out. Kelly was amazing!! Very organized and calm throughout my very hectic day. When we had to move the venue an hour before the ceremony because of weather she immediately jumped to action, calling vendors, hauling supplies, decorations, and flowers to the new location. She kept reassuring us that everything will still be okay and beautiful. And it was!!! We had the best wedding ever and Kelly was so helpful. Her price is very reasonable as well for a day of coordinator. Thank you so much!!!!

    Kelly was absolutely amazing! She was always available to me via e mail or phone during my planning process and ended up helping to ease a lot of my worries leading up to the wedding.
    She came onsite the wedding day and took over the venue, managing the ceremony, crowd and over all flow of the reception. We ended up having a muddy wedding due to the weather and she did not hesitate to jump out there and clean the dance floor so our guests could dance comfortably. She adapted to the weather and kept me posted on all decisions she was making during the reception. For example, She had to make a few calls on where we displayed and cut the cake due to our soggy ground and always made sure to let me know. I was comfortable with her running the show. We are so happy to have found her, she made it so that could enjoy the party and guests and not have to worry about all the nitty gritty. Also have to say her sense of humor and energy is fun to work with. My Husband was not sure about hiring a coordinator while we were planning the wedding but afterwards he was so happy we did and said Kelly really put him at ease and worked so hard to make everything run smooth. I have to say we were really able to enjoy our guests and the party because Kelly was there, it was an incredible day.

    Having Kelly as our day of wedding coordinator was one of the best decisions we made in planning our DC-based wedding. She provided strong communication and guidance leading up to the event. On the day of the wedding, she worked tireless to ensure that everything went smoothly. We had some unexpected, last-minute changes to our ceremony, but the entire situation was stress free as Kelly was on top of it, making swift adjustments and communicating with our vendors and guests. All in all, excellent service for an affordable price. Highly recommended.

    Kelly was an excellent day-of coordinator. She gave me lots of advice before the wedding, very effectively coordinated our rehearsal, and ensured that things went smoothly on the day of the wedding. She is very professional and clearly knows what she is doing. Before I got married, friends told me that a day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions you can make, and I agree. I would recommend Kelly to anyone. We had a fairly informal wedding and she totally got that and was extremely helpful. At the end of the night, she made sure everyone got paid and packed all our presents into my parents' car. Great job, wedding ninja!

    Brides: Look no further! You’ve found your all-star champion for your big day. I hired Kelly as a Day of Coordinator to help bridge the gap between my DIY planning and our other vendors.     Kelly is great! She did a wonderful job coordinating my wedding. Everything ran smoothly on the day of my wedding. I couldn’t be happier with the services she provided. When I arrived to my ceremony location, I was concerned that another party was happening at the same time (the Farm Museum didn’t tell me they booked another party). I was mostly concerned that my guests wouldn’t have any place to park since the other party had taken up ¾ of the parking spaces. Kelly told me not to worry about it that she would take care of it. She did. My guests were able to park without a problem. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the location looked great! Kelly also coordinated the decorating at my wedding reception venue. The room was decorated to perfection and prepared perfectly for my guests. Everything looked beautiful! My wedding day came off flawlessly. Kelly was a big part of that and I am truly grateful for all of her help and advice. If you are a do it yourself bride but you need some help coordinating the actual day, I highly recommend Kelly. You won’t regret booking her services. She’s fabulous!

    Kelly was AMAZING!! She worked with me before the wedding on how we wanted the ceremony to go as well as the whole reception. She gave me tons of advice and tips before the wedding to make it run as smooth as possible. That’s exactly what happened everything went perfect! She showed up right on time and got right to work setting things up. With the rain changing things up a bit she handled everything perfectly! I seriously couldn't have asked for better! Every little detail was perfect! She worked with the D.j. and had the right music cued up for the ceremony as well as the reception!

    Three words: Kelly is amazing!
    From the time when she first met with us (via Google Hangout, how cool is that?), Kelly was attentive and super enthusiastic about ensuring our day went as smoothly as possible.
    Not only did she offer helpful suggestions about ways to approach our day, but she was also good about getting us to be detailed about how we envisioned our day. Because of her, our evening was beautiful and seamless. She ensured our Valentine's Day wedding was as rock star as we dreamed it would be.
    Kelly was in the building getting everything (ceremony space, centerpieces, escort cards, and candy bar) set up and I did not even know it. When I entered my space, everything was more beautiful than I imagined and she greeted me so calmly and pleasantly that if I didn’t even know she had been working I would not have been able to tell. That is how smooth and pleasant she was.
    During my ceremony, Kelly made sure everyone was ready and in line and she even helped our son get down the aisle. During my cocktail hour, she kept my guests in the right space while we took pictures. During the reception, I did not see her much because she was so focused on keeping the timeline with the DJ,as well as getting our gifts packed in our car, while getting everything else packed in my friends’ cars, all while keeping our candy/popcorn buffet stocked. She was THAT good.
    All of my family and friends who commented about her said, “she was super polite and was not in the way”. I loved that she came in and did everything we needed her to do and more. Once we wrote out our timeline and gave her clarity, she made the event happen. Kelly does not need to be micromanaged. She is truly a professional who knows her skill set and will give you exceptional service at an affordable price. Don’t hesitate. Stop reading. Just call her. You won’t regret it.

    I cannot even BEGIN to list all of the ways that Kelly is amazing. I had a small, VERY do it yourself style wedding, and we originally hadn't budgeted for a day-of-coordinator (my frugal husband was completely opposed to the idea!). But when I found Kelly's website and read about her philosophy toward weddings, I knew that I had to hire her! My mom and I are both huge worriers, and without help, we would spend the day fretting over details and not enjoying our guests and the moment. Kelly completely erased that worry on the day. My husband 100% changed his mind after he realized how amazing she is (she's worth 10 times what we paid her)!

    First of all, just on a personal level, she is awesome. She is down to earth, funny, and completely practical. She encouraged unlimited emailing before the wedding and gave tons of helpful suggestions and advice. When I was freaking out about small details, she was always there to reassure me or tell me that the style of chair really didn't matter (she was right -- on the day of I didn't even notice the chairs!).

    On the day of, she made everything run smoothly without me ever having to ask or worry. She was especially great about jumping in any time my mom or a friend tried to do work. She had music cued, helped set up decorations, seamlessly coordinated transitions, and dealt with small issues without me ever knowing about it. My mother was working so hard at my brother's wedding she didn't even get to visit with family. At my wedding, my mom was able to relax and enjoy the guests. Both of my parents couldn't stop raving about how wonderful she was, and I am just so grateful for everything she did. My advice for any bride to be on the fence: hire her! You are spending money for peace of mind, and that is totally worth the (very reasonable) price. Thank you so much, Kelly!

    Kelly (The Ninja) was incredible! She was on the ball with everything and really helped us pull off our big day. From set up to tear down she was there! She is well organized, thorough, and attentive.
    We had an unforeseen issue arise prior to the wedding and during the wedding my bride became upset while on the phone learning new details... I had no clue! But... Kelly saw it and immediately brought it to my attention so I could go and be there for my new wife. It's the little things like that that mean the most!
    Oh yeah... and our guest book canvas was left on top of our car... Thank goodness Kelly saw it and retrieved it as it flew off our car! Yikes... it would have been destroyed.
    So grateful for all your help Kelly!

    Kelly was absolutely amazing for our December 2017 wedding - from helping outline the final details, to picking up and delivering flowers for our "first look," she was attentive to all details.
    Even the things you think you're on top of - like the processional - went so much smoother with Kelly there to pace us out as I quivered with nervousness! Kelly worked seamlessly with our vendors, and there never appeared to be any contention over who needed to do what. She made sure we had everything we needed, whether it was a plate of food, a drink, or just a calming presence.

    And you know how we all have that "one relative?" Yeah, Kelly helped us avert disaster with that person (enough said). She packed all of the decorations so well that our Monday pickup was as easy as pie!

    My husband, who wasn’t totally sold on needing a coordinator for the day, summed it up best, saying Kelly and her team were “invaluable.” Thank you!

    We had the pleasure of working with Katy Griffin, a relatively new member of the Wedding Ninja's team. Although we hired her as a day-of coordinator, Katy was helpful in coordinating our wedding logistics from the moment we hired her! She attended several planning meetings with us at the hotel, responded to email inquiries promptly, advocated for us when we experienced technical difficulties during the rehearsal, and even served as a stand-in MC during the reception since we didn't hire a DJ. Thanks to Katy, all of the last minute tech issues were resolved in time for the wedding without my husband or me having to get involved, and everything flowed seamlessly from start to finish. I strongly recommend hiring the Wedding Ninja for day-of coordination (and even full wedding planning if you can afford it!). They are extremely organized and well-versed in wedding logistics, so you can put your trust in them and enjoy your special day.

    Kelly was great! She helped coordinate with my vendors up to the very last minute. She made the decorations look perfect and kept everyone and everything on time! Very nice to work with and definitely a huge help!

    My husband and I hired Kelly to do day-of coordination for our wedding and we could not be more pleased with the services that she provided. I sent her pages upon pages of notes and Google Docs to keep track of and she was on top of everything! She did complicated centerpiece set-up that the venue wouldn't cover, kept track of all of our things and kept on top of so many details. I'm so glad that we decided to hire Kelly - having her to coordinate some of the smaller details was a huge weight off my mind for the big day!

    Have Faith in you Coordinator and you can Relax

    The Wedding Ninja, Kelly, is exactly the type A wedding coordinator that I needed by my side all throughout our wedding. We were fortunate to book her well in advance because she was recommended to us from our wedding photographer (Urban Row Photography). Right from the initial call, I knew she was going to be organized and help me get things done. When we finally met in-person for the first time, she instantly installed confidence in me that the wedding day was going to be spectacular. Her spreadsheets, google documents and instructions were detailed and she never hesitated to suggest doing things differently – remember, she’s done this many, many times before! She’s an expert at making the big day relaxing and memorable. At rehearsal and the wedding day, everyone knew exactly where to be and when. Both Kelly and her assistant worked their tail off running around since the wedding venue property was many acres. I’m so grateful to have Kelly handling all of the unexpected “things” that come up. Looking back at the day, we could not have done it without the Wedding Ninja and her team. They even assisted with trash and breaking down at the end of the night, which was beyond what she was hired to do. I truly appreciate everything that she did for me as an middle-aged, first time bride. She’s fantastic at what she does – you just need to hire her.
    Remember to feed your vendors – they work very hard and a long time – take care of them and they’ll take care of you.

    Honest Long Review

    It took me a long time to decide to post this because I normally don’t ever leave negative reviews in fear of hurting somebody’s feelings or business, but I strongly felt the need to share my experience for anybody it may help. We hired Kelly the Wedding Ninja in hopes of making wedding planning easier but experienced the opposite. I personally don’t believe her services measured up to what she charges and what she originally sold us on.

    Here is the long version of our experience for anybody interested— my (now) husband and I were originally looking for a day of coordinator but many we had reached out to were unavailable for our date. When we reached out to Kelly- she told us she doesn’t do just ‘day of’ services but her wedding coordination package was more all-inclusive hence the $3k price tag (which was about 2x – 3x quotes we received from other strictly day of coordinators). She told us she’d help us source vendors, review contracts, curate a wedding day timeline, set up/pack up decor, said we’d have unlimited communication with her, that it’s her job to make planning and our wedding day easy for us, and even joked that she often acts as emotional support for her couples. We were sold.

    A lot of this fell short. Over 8 months, we received 4 video calls, some organizational tools like a blank wedding workbook, a few google folders for us to upload information like our vendor contracts into, a “preferred vendors” list, and a walk through/rehearsal at the venue. We ended up doing all of the upfront planning on our own (sourced all of our vendors, communication with them, decor, table layouts, drafted the initial day of timeline, etc). Our calls were mostly spent going over what we put in her workbook/ what’d we’d done since and she’d help us tweak certain details a bit. Outside of this, we didn’t really hear from her. She was never one to reach out to see how things were going. And when we reached out with questions, it was usually met with a short answer and nothing else. Her demeanor discouraged us from reaching out more and I personally didn’t feel like she someone even attempting to build trust with us. For example, she spent an entire video call calling me (the bride) by the wrong name, followed by an email also addressing me by the wrong name. I learned that my husband emailed her separately to correct her and all she wrote back was a short “my apologies for the typo”. She never reached out or addressed it with me personally. All of this made us uncomfortable, but we hoped for the best on our actual day.


    Fast forward to our wedding day…. alot of noticeable things went wrong that we felt were a direct result of Kelly. Here were my biggest issues:

    Interrupted our dinner to order alcohol: right before our grand entrance into the reception, catering told my husband and I we were running low on beer and wine. Kelly was there and told us, “we’ll take care of it”. We made our grand entrance, sat through about 30 minutes of speeches, and right as we’re beginning to eat, Kelly comes up to the us at the sweetheart table and asks, “okay so what do you want to do about the alcohol?”…. I’m mid-bite realizing she didn’t do anything in the last half an hour to “take care of it” like she said… She then recommends that we, the bride and groom, order more for delivery because “it would be just as quick as pick up.” She proceeds to get my phone from the bridal suite and hover over the sweetheart table while watching me add wine and beer to Instacart while everyone around me is eating. I’m panicking at this point and when I click checkout, the earliest delivery date says two days in the future, at which point she goes “I guess I can just go run to the nearest store and get it and you guys can Venmo me”. I’m left speechless because in what world is making the bride stop eating dinner at her own wedding to order alcohol on Instacart okay? Why did we hire you if can’t handle something like this? ALSO why approach the bride and groom about this? Our entire bridal party and both sets of parents were right there and would have been happy to take care of it for us. Her big selling point when we hired her was “she’s there to take care of problems so the bride and groom don’t have to” … so much for that. I ended up eating only a few bites of my dinner before having to make our rounds. This was one of my biggest regrets because I really loved the food we picked and wish I had gotten to enjoy it.

    Lost $1500 in vendor tips: Kelly gave all our vendor tip money to the wrong vendor at the end of the night, and we can’t get it back. My husband took out cash the morning of our wedding for tips and a good amount extra just in case. The end of the night was hectic so my husband delegated distribution to his best man (he forgot to tell his BM that not all of the money was supposed to be for tips – that’s on him). His BM then gives the money to Kelly as she’s the coordinator and had access to all our vendor contracts, knew who was there and how much we paid each. He told her the money was for vendor tips and asked if she could take care of it. We later found out that she gave all $1500 cash to the caterer, a vendor we had already pre-tipped as part of our contract. When we asked her about it, she claimed my husband’s BM told her the money was just for catering and quickly tried to deflect by saying how drunk he was and tried convincing us she couldn’t be mistaken because “he was clearly intoxicated”. That’s the thing though.. I remember talking to him at the end of the night and he was perfectly fine. We also reached out to other guests for their opinion, including my pregnant bridesmaid and some sober friends, and they all said the same. He told us he distinctly remembers telling Kelly it was for vendor tips, and we trust him. But neither my husband nor I were there so we won’t ever really know what happened. That said, we didn’t appreciate how quick she was to paint our friend as an irresponsible drunk, and I keep thinking.. even if Kelly truly thought she heard him say ‘catering’, wouldn’t a seasoned wedding coordinator think it’s odd that all $1500 is going the one vendor that was already tipped in advance and to nobody else? I remember asking her to review our catering contract before we signed it, and it clearly states the gratuity policy in there. Also, why wouldn’t she double check with the bride and groom first, especially for such a large amount of money? And ESPECIALLY if the person handing it to her is someone she’s claiming was “clearly intoxicated”?

    Photography schedule: our photographer was planning on arriving to the venue before us on wedding day to shoot flat lays (rings, invitations, shoes, etc.) I dropped the details box off at rehearsal with a sign in huge bold letters “DETAILS BOX TO BE WAITING FOR PHOTOGRAPHER – put in bridal suite”. Kelly moved the box to the bridal suite, but never told our photographer it was there and let her wait downstairs for an hour. Our timeline was already tight, and because of this, we had to cut some other things short like bridal party and first look pictures.

    Either forgot or disregard for our photography wishes: When we booked our venue, there was one picture I really wanted (that shot was the whole reason we booked our venue) but it required some coordination because it was in space that needed to be flipped between ceremony and reception. When I communicated this, Kelly said it would be no problem. Fast forward, when the time came to take that picture, Kelly tried telling us we needed to move on, and that we were getting in the way of catering. I had to firmly reiterate to her that I wanted that shot. She gave me a short “ok”, and walked away looking almost annoyed. I personally felt she was being rude to both myself, our photographer, and to my explicit wishes.

    Guest Transportation: We booked a charter bus to take our guests from the venue back to Baltimore, and Kelly told us she’d ensure all the guests and ourselves get on the bus at the end of the night. When the reception ended, I noticed the bus wasn’t outside and I ended up spending 20 min on the phone with the bus dispatch. The driver wouldn’t come up the narrow hill to the venue until they spoke to someone from the venue who could confirm the bus would fit but Kelly was nowhere to be found. We eventually found her and she convinced the driver it was okay, and disappeared again. That was the last we ever saw of her.. she never said goodbye to us, and she didn’t even wait with us to make sure the bus actually arrived. We feel that the entire interaction should have been her responsibility as our coordinator and not ours. We missed the chance to say bye to a few people while I was on the phone and the lag kind of put a damper on the end of our night.

    Other minor things we noticed/later found out.. Kelly was responsible for packing up our décor at the end of the night (and I do give her kudos for this as we had a good amount of stuff, and it was a long super-hot day) but everything was kind of shoved in the U-Haul when we picked it up. Part of our neon sign was broken off, about a dozen cocktail glasses were either shattered or missing (the lids to the boxes were never latched), and some extra champagne bottles were stacked on their side and started rolling around when we started driving. We heard from some of our bridal party that when they were trying to take pictures, she rudely told them they needed to move somewhere else. One of our other friends also later told us that, before the ceremony, Kelly had asked her row to move up one because “it looks embarrassing right now” referring to the empty row in front of them…. In those words. Right before I walked down the aisle. Ouch.

    I truly didn’t intend to make this so long, but I didn’t know how else to sum up everything that had gone wrong. I do want to say that I’m sure she did a lot of other stuff for us behind the scenes to keep the day running, and we are very appreciative of that. But for each of those situations above and for how much we paid for her services, it’s inexcusable. We hired her to make our lives easier and she stressed us out even more. I’m sure she can be a great coordinator for others, I see a lot of other positive reviews so perhaps we just didn’t click as humans.. but our experience with her was memorably negative. My advice to any couples starting to wedding plan is to shop around for big vendors early, talk to a lot of them, and trust your gut. Wedding planning is stressful enough and you need a good team by your side.
