Hill country charm meets Tuscan romance
The lawn and grounds are absolutely stunning, even if a little wet out like it was on our day. The dining room and reception area are well designed and decorated so even if the weather keeps you inside you will not be disappointed. There are so many beautiful details at VOSH, the venue really speaks for itself and photographs so well. It doesn’t require any extra decor but allows for all the ways you want to make it your own (drapes, photobooth, florals, chandeliers in the trees etc.) There is a secret garden for a quick private moment after the ceremony and ample lounge areas that make the perfect environment for guests to enjoy themselves during the reception. The owners are so easy to work with and are committed to achieving your event vision. Thank you Sidonee and Larry, our day was perfect! -

Cares about the vendors
Hi I’m the owner of a bartendering company that has worked here a few times. When we worked there this past Sunday (9.20.20) I was pleasantly surprised. This was our first time back since covid has started. They put in provisions to protect the bartenders at the bar area. How awesome is that. And the venue it’s self is just breathtaking. I would highly recommend this venue. -

The staff at VOSH are simply incredible. From being flexible with our date selection and their reasonable rates, to DJ and MC Anthony being so on top of the landscaping, cleanliness, sound, audio and visuals in addition to directing our guests with announcements over the sound system, everyone LOVED this secret garden hidden gem of a venue! Service from staff was excellent and they followed through in what they promised. The fire tables were never equipped with the water bowls filled with floating petal center pieces but it ended up being okay to have the space in the center for drinks and such. Everyone loved the beauty of this venue so so much! Suggestions for anyone - people loved the slide show feature on the dance floor area! A/C worked perfectly and microphones all worked great to pick up our voices the day of. Rehearsal went quickly and seamlessly too! Anthony’s done this A LOT so you’re in great hands with him but I’d recommend a planner in tandem. -

We got married on April 6th at VoSH. Larry and Sidonee were SO amazing throughout the entire process and we could not have picked a better venue. We had a same sex Hindu Christian fusion wedding and our 125 guests were taken care of and easily accommodated at the venue. I highly recommend these folks to everyone, but especially to the LGBTQ population. We will never forget our wonderful day and VOSH will be a highlight memory for years to come. And I might add, it's BEAUTIFUL and all the remodel updates were finished and looked spectacular. Would recommend again and again! -

Hidden Gem of Austin
This venue is absolutely gorgeous and they are always improving it. If you are looking for a venue that is close to downtown and surrounding hotels but secluded at the same time then this venue is for you. Plus you get the benefit of having Sidonee and Larry to work with. They were super helpful during the whole planning process, with not only recommending vendors to use but if you had any questions about anything they had the answer or could steer you in the right direction. Anthony at the Vista made the day of go off without a hitch, he kept us on schedule the entire night. I would definitely recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. -

From the moment my wife and I pulled up to The Vista on Seward Hill (VOSH), we knew there was something very magical about this place. The family that owns the property is so loving, caring, and are willing to go above and beyond your needs to make your event a memorable one. Larry and Sidonne Seward were such a joy to work with and we can assure you, they will not disappoint! The property alone sells itself. We were in awe of everything offered after we finished touring the beautiful venue. Anthony, their professional onsite DJ and wedding coordinator included with the venue, was outstanding and made our lives stress free for our special day. Matt Montalvo, who was our photographer recommended by Larry and Sidonne, was very familiar with the venue. He captured the essence of our memorable day in unbelievable pictures! He is truly a professional that understands timing, lighting, and capturing all the moments at the secret garden, the hill country sunset, and our first dance with the alluring chandelier as the background! We searched many venues in Austin and the Vista on Seward Hill was by far the best. The surroundings and venue alone are beautiful even without any decorations. From the choice of indoor or outdoor seating and/or reception, to the timeless water fountains/koi ponds and the lush canopy above, and to the gorgeous chandelier in the dance hall, this property has numerous facets that truly are a niche in the wedding venue world. Do yourself a favor and look no further. You can tell these people love what they do by the quality of care and love given to the property and to the wedding couple. Briana Sent on 05/20/2018I originally saw this property two years ago and instantly fell in love. The second I walked up and saw the amazing trees, the music playing, and where I would walk down the aisle, I knew I needed to get married here. The vibes are fantastic and fit an Austin wedding perfectly. Larry and Sidonee were fantastic hosts and extremely helpful. My family really enjoyed getting to know them and I can't thank the both of you enough for everything you've done. Every single one of my guests were absolutely in love with the venue and the wedding was so beautiful. Seriously out of a fairytale. Thank you both so much for a memory I will never forget. Fantastic venue and the most genuine, kindhearted people who run it and love what they do, which makes it even better.

Cody Sent on 05/08/2018I'm a wedding fiddler and I recently played my cousin's ceremony there. I have to say the grounds are absolutely beautiful. You can not take a bad picture there. Anthony, the manager, is an absolute rockstar! He could not be a nicer person. He had everything in hand and under control. The man cheerfully strove to make sure every detail came off perfect. I can tell you the bride and her mother were ecstatic. If you want a guaranteed perfect wedding, this is your place.

Maura Sent on 12/05/2017A lot of venues can be beautiful but VOSH is not only breath taking the owners Sidonee & Larry are absolutely amazing, kind, fabulous and very special people. They made sure we had everything we needed while giving me endless tips to save money, provided incredible vendors to assist with added discounts just because people love them both so much. There wasn’t one hiccup and it ended up being a day out of a fairy tale! We will go back to celebrate our anniversaries and feel as if we gained two life long friends as well! You won’t regret choosing VOSH!!! Thanks for making our special day a dream come true! Lots of love - The Choates

Anthony is a brilliant host who made us feel at ease. The venue is absolutely breathtaking, everyone was raving about it. Could not recommend it any higher!

Keelee Sent on 10/25/2013I Love this venue and the staff!! I visited countless times throughout planning our wedding for 14 months. The place is just beautiful and the staff is excellent!! Never once did they get sick of me! Very very nice people and very accommodating. The owners our husband and wife and they are an awesome team and the take care of the property and brides! Sidonee the wife is very helpful and sweet. I cant thank her enough for doing the centerpieces for our wedding! I knew I could trust her and she saved us hundreds of dollars. We expected 200 guests and had about 170 and our guests cant stop talking about our wedding day! Anthony the venue wedding coordinator was awesome(included in the cost btw)!! He did an awesome job coordinating and djing! I have to admit I was a little nervous with him being familiar with our selected music genre but he did an Awesome job!! Many many complients on the dj. We dance d out the door! The property gave our pictures a beautiful backdrop. So many locations to take photos! Picture perfect!! I used county line for our cater and it was perfect! Please check out my review for them as while. If you go with this venue and DEE DEE at county line you do not need to hire a wedding planner! Everything that I wanted happened for our wedding and im so glad I picked this venue! No worries here! The only thing the venue didnt include was the linens for the tables. Its an awesome value and it's beautiful. Most places didnt include tables, chairs, dj, projector, lights, margarita machine, 2 bar areas and wedding day coordination. Here's all the vendors I used just incase you want an awesome wedding like we had :D

My wife and I spent more than a year visiting different venues in the Austin/ Hill Country area in search of that perfect one. The first time we saw VOSH, we knew hands down this was the place. The natural beauty of the entire place overwhelms you the first time… and the second time… and the third time…. We got so many compliments on the venue from everyone that attended. A friend of ours even proposed to her girlfriend at the wedding because in her words, “How could you pass up this place as the backdrop for a proposal.”
The fact that we had a same-sex wedding made it even harder to find the right place. Sidonee and Larry were AWESOME when it came to this fact. Not once, did either of us feel as though this was an issue or were we ever simply “tolerated,” as we had encountered in other venues. Although at the time we got married, the marriage wasn’t legal, we were never treated as though this was anything but a wedding.
Set aside the beauty of the venue and our unique situation, VOSH would have still been perfect. There is NO WAY you can beat the value you get out of this venue. All the chairs, tables, lanterns, the assorted decorations the venue had, a margarita machine and even the DJ were included in the price! Most of the lightening was included as well. The extra colored lighting was offered by the owners’ son, Sean. We didn’t take advantage of his services because of our budget. However we saw the fantastic work he did on the NUMEROUS occasions we visited the venue.
Sidonee, Larry, and Sean were a pleasure to work with. They went out of their way to work with us on using the outside caterer we had our hearts set on. I can’t say enough about how great these people are. They really make you feel like family not clients.

I searched long and hard to find a venue that fit what I wanted, and The Vista on Seward Hill had exactly what I was looking for without a crazy high price tag. Initially, the cost of the venue was more than I wanted to spend. However, with how perfectly my wedding went, I would pay it again without a second thought! Sidonee and Larry are wonderful. They didn't always remember when I had scheduled to come by the venue, but always treated me with the upmost kindness and were extremely helpful every time I called or came by. I had an issue with getting in contact with the day-of coordinator to figure out the wedding day schedule to send to vendors, but when I called Larry in a panic, he took care of it for me. Anthony was very organized at the rehearsal and was spectacular the day of the wedding, which more than made up for the hiccup in contacting him in the weeks before. He had the day of the wedding all down to a science. I didn't have to worry about a single thing the whole time. All my guests were very impressed with how organized, yet relaxed, the day was. Everybody felt well-informed by Anthony on what to do without feeling rushed. There was absolutely no awkward standing around by my guests or waiting around impatiently for the next piece to start! I had told Anthony at the rehearsal that I wanted to start at 7, regardless of whether all guests were there, because I like to stick to a schedule. He made sure all guests were seated prior to that time. He came to check on me around 6:45 to see if I was ready. When I said I was, he went to get the groomsmen ready to walk and I was walking down the aisle shortly after 7! Sidonee came to check on me while I was waiting for my turn to go down the aisle and had a soothing conversation with me so that I didn't feel the least bit nervous. The attention to detail in the decor at the venue is the main reason I was drawn to it. The outdoor ceremony space is breathtaking and made for great pictures. My guests loved walking around the grounds during cocktail hour and during the dancing. My personal favorite spot is the secret garden where my husband and I had a private dinner while our guests ate in the indoor dining area. We didn't even eat much of our food from all the adrenalin still running through us, but it was so nice to sit quietly by ourselves and just enjoy being together before going to mingle with guests. I can't even begin to express my gratitude to Sidonee, Larry, and Anthony for everything. I got so many compliments the night of the wedding on how perfect everything was, and almost 2 months later, my guests are STILL talking about how much they loved the wedding. A huge part of that was the beauty of the venue and the amazing people running it! -

It's been recently renovated and especially when decorated it will absolutely blow guests away! The owners are also incredible, friendly and very kind people - it was an honor to be married on their property. The DJ was also included and he did a great job of following our requests and leading the crowd through the night. Amazing!!!

Karly Sent on 08/10/2010Vista was fabulous! Sidonee and her husband Larry immediately became part of the family and were willing to accomodate our needs immediately. The grounds are natural and beautiful- no fuss, just the beauty of trees, flowers, gardens, fountains and lantern lights. On several occasions they allowed me to bring various vendors up to walk thru and make plans. No extra cost, just needed a phone call and they had things open and lights on ready for us.
The day of was spectacular! I will sing the praises of Vista on Seward Hill to anyone that will listen! -
Sarah Sent on 01/04/2018Very beautiful!! All my guests complimented on how spectacular the venue was, especially with all the new upgrades. Larry and Sidonee are easy to work with and are very accommodating to make sure your day is as special as possible. My husband loved the groom's gameroom quarters for getting ready with his wedding party and they allowed us to have our dog in the wedding and during the reception too.
I would have given the venue 5 stars, but my wedding ended unexpectedly an hour early despite all my planning and coordinating that I did. I was very organized and communicated the timeline, but somehow and for some reason it still wasn't followed. I'm not sure what happened, but despite this occurrence I would still recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beautiful, amazing wedding like I had. -
