  Robert was amazing accommodating our last minute request for a civil ceremony officiated by the Cat in the Hat. His creativity and energy made this a truly memorable ceremony for all of us. He answered all of our emails promptly and we were able to coordinate all of the details. If you are looking for a unique wedding The Uncommon Officiant is your guy!

  Robert couldn't have been more perfect! We are older Hawaiian-Boho wedding, we met online. Robert captured our life with humor, laughter, love and EVERYONE loved him!   Amazing Service on Short Notice

  My wife and I were in a bind when our planned officiant cancelled on us, and so we hired Robert roughly 4 weeks before our wedding in a panic. His communication was clear from the beginning that he had two other ceremonies scheduled on the same day as our wedding, and that his service might be delayed or below standard, but he was clearly being modest because his service was exceptional from start to finish even with severe constraints.
  
  We received a draft of our speech in a very timely manner after our meeting with him, and we even made several last minute changes that Robert handled with a level of professionalism which showed a tremendous experience at his craft. We had an absolutely amazing experience working with him, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant who is both friendly and accommodating. Just maybe give him some more time to work than we did because I am sure he would appreciate it!

  Wonderful ceremony

  Robert was a joy to work with! He really took time to get to know my husband and I's story. He was very professional and the ceremony he wrote was perfect, sweet with some comic relief. I had multiple guests say how great of a job he did too. Definitely recommend.

  Kind, Warm, Knowledgeable, Officiant Guided Us Through The Ropes

  We didn't have the foggiest idea of how to go about getting married, so I reached out to Robert, the Uncommon Officiant. Robert explained the process to me, and we agreed on a date and time. Robert was willing to go along with our wacky desire to get to an overgrown gazebo, hacking our way through jungle-like vegetation to reach our destination, leaving us all covered in pollen! Nonetheless, Robert created a comfortable and non-judgmental environment for us using kind words and humor.

  Flexible and Wonderful

  We were so happy with Robert and how he made our day that much more special and fun. He was incredibly open to making your special day exactly how you wanted and specific to each of your personalities. Before the wedding, we have a few chats with him, which were always fun and he made you very excited about your big day. I would recommend Robert 10 out of 10!

  Love and Laughter

  Robert made our rehearsal run flawlessly and was there for support every step of the way. Our ceremony was filled with tears and laughter that was enjoyed by everyone. He did not just read a premade ceremony, he told our story and made the ceremony exactly how we wanted it.

  Best officiant ever!

  Robert was absolutely amazing to work with, and my husband and I could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding! He met with us several months before our big day to learn about the details of how we met, our relationship, etc. We were both so impressed and so happy with the ceremony script that he drafted based on that meeting alone. It captured our relationship perfectly, incorporated the unique elements we asked for, had a great sense of humor to it, and required very little editing on our part. Robert was also extremely helpful and so fun to work with when it came to both our rehearsal and our actual ceremony. We had so many family and friends come up to us throughout our reception to tell us how much they loved the ceremony, and that it was one of the best wedding ceremonies they had ever seen. Many of our family and friends also asked us how long we have known Robert, and were so surprised to hear that we had only met him recently, which I think speaks to how good he is at what he does. One of my friends even asked for his contact information, as she plans to refer any friends who are looking for a wedding officiant in the future! :) Thanks, Robert, for being an amazing officiant and making our special day so much fun!!!

  Uncommon should be the norm!

  We found Robert at a friend's wedding and absolutely adored him from the start! Robert took ample time to get to know us and make sure our ceremony was tailored to our needs and wants. Robert is kind, organized and fun to work with. His sence of humor and professionalism set him at the top of my list for any recommendation! So many of our guests asked if he was a friend, and after our time with him it really feels like he is! !

There was something about him that was more unique than any other officiant we would have chosen.   Robert was so professional and the best officiant!

  Robert was absolutely amazing! He was so much fun to work with and everyone at our wedding loved how he worded our ceremony and how he took so much of our nervousness away! My husband and I highly recommend him! He was the best and even did our yoda voice for I now pronounce you husband and wife so good as well! 😊

  Personal, perfect, and okay with rain

  Robert was great and helped us immensely with our crazy COVID-19 wedding that we planned in less than two months. He conducted an extensive interview in order to create the most personal and individualized service we could have imagined (AND he also laughed at all of our "cute" stories that he has probably heard from other couples a billion times). It also downpoured during our outdoor ceremony in the middle of the woods and he never complained as he signed our wedding license kneeling in front of our car in the pouring rain (we forgot it in the car, like a couple of newbies). Anyway, could not recommend him more! Our parents still talk about the personal ceremony we had!

  Robert is the best officiant EVER! My first experience with Robert was when he married my sister. Their ceremony was so sweet and personal, as soon as I got engaged, Robert was the first person I called! Working with him on the ceremony was so much fun. He met with us to get all the details of our relationship and how we met and why we love each other. His ceremony was so personal to us as a couple and our love story, he just made the whole experience so special for us. He was really good at accommodating all the details that were important to me and being flexible to all of our suggestions and edits to the ceremony text. I would highly recommend Robert to anyone looking for an AWESOME officiant and a wonderful ceremony!!!!

We had so many compliments from our guests. We also had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic and Robert was really accommodating when it came to changing dates. I would definitely recommend Robert and wish i could give more than 5 stars!

He really took our boring old typical love story and transformed it into the fairy tale we didn't realize we had. He made us laugh (a lot) and cry all while being professional and humble. We could not have asked for anything more!

  Hands-down the best officiant in Columbus!

  Robert made our wedding so special. My (now) husband and I met him after reading his profile online and all of the feedback from his previous couples. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. He wrote such a beautiful ceremony for us, and everyone was so impressed with the quality of it all. We also had a Dr. Who themed wedding, and Robert wore red high-tops to our wedding, which was SO perfect! He spoke clearly and with so much personality. He was fun. He was amazing. Even if you're not having any kind of themed wedding, Robert is hands down the best officiant in columbus!

  We selected Robert for our May 31st wedding and could NOT be happier! He understood our desire to mix traditional with nontraditional and was willing to not only tolerate but participate in our wacky sense of humor. Our ceremony was so personal, well written and orated that even with a small close group of 75 guests, people still thought Robert was a close friend of ours they didn't know! Robert even went out of his way to do a separate rehearsal with us before meeting with the venue to help ensure our kids had an understanding of what to expect. I'd give him 10 stars if I could...we were that pleased with his services.

  Just like a friend!

  Robert is a great officiant and just as great writer. He totally personalized our ceremony and made it perfect. It was a super small ceremony but having Robert stand there and talk about our relationship made it very warm and cozy. We all loved him and his sense of humor. We had a little slip up with our unity tree but he made it a funny moment and took it all in stride. Could not have picked a better officiant. 110% recommend!

  Robert made our day extra special!

  From the moment we met Robert, we knew we had made the right choice. His attention to detail was amazing! He told a story about us that was touching, funny, and unique. Many of our guests assumed he had known us for years!! He really captured the commitment and love we have for each other!

  Exactly who we needed

  We started out our wedding planning journey struggling a bit because no one talks about who marries you if you're not religious, and you don't "just want to go down to the courthouse"...enter Robert. From the first messages we exchanged, he was very patient and professional with us, and immediately after we met up for the first time, he put us at ease - it was like we had known him forever He is definitely "our kind of people". The ceremony he drafted had me crying and laughing all at the same time; it was exactly what we wanted. He shared most of our geeky tendencies, and was absolutely tickled when we asked him to come dressed as his favorite Doctor Who regeneration! (happened to be the same as me; 10....!!!)
  
  Every single person who I talked to said it was the perfect representation of us, and we couldn't agree more! We were laughing the entire day, and the photos are the proof - it was perfect. I sincerely appreciate all of the work that he put in for us, for not laughing at us during our Shotski ceremony (LOL), and for making our big day one of the most memorable experiences of our lives
