Roaring 20’s wedding

Our wedding we absolutely perfect thanks to ALL of the staff from The Thaxton. They made sure we felt comfortable with everything and made sure even with mishaps that everything went as planned. I can’t thank them enough for making us feel special on our day.

Our Covid Wedding

Through all the unknowns Kim was a ray of light! She was professional, flexible and understanding! We loved how Kim helped us make sure we had every detail in place and she was encouraging of our unique ideas! With the pandemic raging she stayed calm and created a safe environment for our family and loved ones. We are so grateful for all the help she gave us and we had the best day filled with love and all good vibes!!! 10 out of 10 would get married all over again there 💓

Perfect Wedding and Reception

We had our wedding and reception at The Thaxton on 3/7/2020. It was just perfect! Kim, Mad Dog and all the staff were excellent throughout the entire event.My guests had a blast and were raving about it the next day. I’m so happy we chose The Thaxton as our venue. I can’t say enough good things about this space, Kim, Mad Dog and all the staff members. Dj Uptown kept the party going and the crowd engaged. I’m actually sad it’s over! You did a great job and we will be forever grateful for the wonderful memories you helped create.

Awesome Venue

Everything about The Thaxton was awesome. Kim was very helpful and responsive from the very first meeting. She answered every question we had throughout the planning. Mad Dog was an awesome surprise to have as an additional guide on our wedding day. The whole venue was perfect for us. The decor at the Thaxton is perfect/beautiful and made it so we had to buy very little decorations. I would also recommend using the house DJ - DJ Uptown - if you are looking for a DJ. I hope
I get a chance to go back someday!

Everything we wanted and more...

Where do I even start? Everything about our experience at The Thaxton was amazing, from start to finish. Kim was very professional throughout the planning process and responded promptly to email communications. She worked with us every step of the way, to help us bring our ideas to life in this unique space, on a very short time line. She took time to answer all of our questions and quickly addressed any concerns, which put my mind at ease. We decided to have both our ceremony and reception at The Thaxton (instead of just one or the other) and it was the best decision ever! The décor, artwork, lighting and architectural details combined make this a beautiful, romantic, one-of-a-kind event space. We didn't have to spend too much on our own décor because The Thaxton is already so beautiful the way it is! We love everything about this space and there are some great backdrops for wedding photos. Mad Dog was a great host! He and Kim made sure everything ran smoothly on our big day. Kim checked in with me constantly, throughout the night to make sure I had everything I needed. All of the staff at The Thaxton are simply amazing and delivered top notch service in every area. They all work very hard to make sure guests at The Thaxton have the best experience possible. They sure know how to throw a party! I am so grateful we were able to have our event at The Thaxton and we can't wait to plan our next event here!

Amazing, Felt like a movie

I loved this Venue !! This is clearly a place that throws parties. It was such a cool unique space with multi-level accommodations that were perfect for the vibe we had. Many of my guest left saying, I want to throw a party here. As well as telling me I need to have another event again next year. I cannot say enough good things about this location. If you are looking for something outside the box, this is absolutely your place. I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of my wedding reception. My host, bartenders, DJ were phenomenal! Thank you, for making my night!

Memories Made at Thaxton

As a friend I was helping to put together a 25th wedding anniversary event over the weekend. One of the top priorities was to find a venue which has a character and not the stereotype ball room. The personalities of the couple was also completely different. One the old world charm and quiet and the other crazy, fun loving, full of life. So it was important to find a venue which had color, character, a bit of history, a bit artistic, not to mention convenience, great staff, accessibility and a bit of flexibility. We managed to find all these at Thaxton. The moment you enter the closed doors, you are in for a surprise. Romantic, colorful, subtle and you don't need any additional decor to add. More surprises, a beautiful mezzanine bar for a small gathering, and huge room for the bride or the groom. At the basement its a beautiful , spacious bar cum dance floor to dance your heart out. All these wrapped in this beautiful Art Deco wedding venue. Ideal for 80-100 guests with space for people to move and sit in groups. Kim who runs the place was excellent in terms of responding to mails, showing us the place more than many times without any tiredness, talking about the history of the place and most importantly guiding you through the whole event and not looking for opportunities to add more cost. Right from the first time we communicated till the event day it was a wonderful experience to get immediate response and everything arranged perfectly on the day of the event. Her team members were excited, willing to help always and making one feel part of the family. Special mention goes to Bryan, Sam at the Bar, Maddog in logistics. The place was clean, people were friendly and professional, and enough parking lots around the venue . Kim was there throughout the event and managed the whole show to perfection. It s a perfect venue and if you want to soak in a bit of history, romantic, artistic, rocking ambience you found all these in this venue. Thank you Kim and team for the wonderful memories.

The most unique and beautiful venue!

Our wedding was June 22, 2019 at The Thaxton. We enjoyed every moment of our day at this venue! It's such a unique space and feels as if you're living a party straight out of the Great Gatsby! Kim was an amazing coordinator. You can tell she knows what works and what won't in the space. She made every step of the planning process simple and made sure our evening went beautifully. I can't thank her enough for her assertiveness and the way she orchestrated our evening! If you are looking for an a venue that makes your wedding planning a breeze and a memory you'll never forget this is the place!

The Thaxton was the perfect location for our wedding and ceremony. They were very easy to work with, very accommodating, and very fun! The space is so unique it really didn't need additional decorating.
Wasn't expecting the couples champagne they provided at our sweetheart table either, so that was a lovely and unexpected surprise. 11/10

A hidden gem!

Perfect venue for the not so "traditional" couple! The entire venue is a work of art, there are suprising details around every corner! My guests loved everything about it! Very accommodating also! Awesome all around!

We got married at The Thaxton 9/22/18 and it was unbelievably amazing. Everything went exactly as we wanted it to. The staff are true professionals and are SO on top of everything and super accommodating. We were blown away by how smoothly everything went. Kim, Mad Dog, and Tayvon made our night amazing. Every time we need ANYTHING Tayvon was right there with another drink or plate of food. The DJ (DJ Uptown) kept the party going. If you want a party, this is the venue to pick.

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Thaxton and I do not think we could have picked a more perfect location! Their team did a great job coordinating everything and even helped us decorate our bundt cakes with flowers! The staff is great and the venue is gorgeous! Highly recommend! The Thaxton is a beautiful building, but the staff makes it very special. Every time I thought of something else that needed to be done, Peter said that was part of their normal service. Their superb service made our son's wedding everything we and the bride and groom wanted. The Thaxton is definitely a 5 star venue!

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Thaxton on 5/6/17. The day could not have gone more smoothly and that is due largely in part to the wonderful staff at the Thaxton. During the planning phase, I was blown away with how organized Peter (the owner) was. He knew exactly how our evening would flow the best and made great suggestions based on our needs. He was also always extremely responsive and helpful via email during this time. He was present to lead our rehearsal at the venue the day before the event, which as a nervous bride, put my mind at ease that everything was under control. On the day, we were able to access the venue early to take photographs, which was ideal due to our timeline. Throughout the evening him and his staff, notably Mad Dog, lead the evening flawlessly. Mad Dog's attention to detail was remarkable, including ensuring my husband and I were happy and being taken care of throughout the evening. We received nothing but praise from our guests on their experience at our event. The venue is absolutely unique and gorgeous. Our photos came out amazing. I could not be more happy with our experience here and would absolutely recommend this venue for not only weddings, but any larger event. We cannot begin to express our thanks to the venue staff!

I recently had my son's rehearsal dinner at The Thaxton. It was a delightful experience! The ambiance of the prohibition/art deco look was a perfect theme for me to work around. The responsiveness of Peter and Kim was top notch. They were professional, organized and so easy to work with! It made the planning almost seem effortless for me. This was the perfect wedding venue for us. It is such a beautiful and unique space. Peter, Kim, and Mad Dog were so easy and wonderful to work with. They made sure our wedding was the event we wanted it to be. The Thaxton has several different levels which made for a really cool party. Each level is different and allowed our guests to do what they wanted to do whether it was just sit and talk or relax in the lounge or dance the night away downstairs. The staff are all so professional and experienced with event planning and I never felt like I was being cheated or swindled like I did with some other venues. Such a cool space. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at The Thaxton last weekend. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was the place! It was the first and only venue we even toured. We knew we wanted a spot that would accommodate the ceremony and reception all in one, that also had availability to do food stations. Peter had a vision for us immediately - he drew a mock up floor plan, walked us through the schedule for the evening, told us how the dance floor would work - and this was all on our first tour! From then until the day of, he answered my countless question and gave me comfort in our decisions. On our wedding day, Peter and Kim collaborated with my vendors to turn the facility into the most magical place we could imagine. The ceremony was warm, romantic and whimsical. They flipped to the reception, and the room was buzzing with excitement from all our guests. I can't even imagine how many times I had guests come up to us and compliment the venue. We even heard that it was the most beautiful wedding some had ever attended. To top it all off, Mr. Mad Dog swept us off our feet. He was attentive to us, provided us guidance throughout the night for where we should be, and even brought us drinks when we needed them. He was touched by our vows, and we could tell from the start that our night truly mattered to him. The Thaxton turned our dreams into reality. If we could live in that moment forever, we would. There is not one thing we would change, and we owe it all to Peter, Kim and Mad Dog!!

My husband and I were recently married (ceremony and reception) at The Thaxton, and we absolutely LOVED our experience there! From the very beginning, Peter helped us to coordinate our wedding day at the venue. He was always available to answer any questions we had and was incredibly helpful with suggestions. The day of the wedding went off without a hitch. Mad Dog did a fantastic job keeping the night flowing from one event to the next, and he was with us at every key event to make sure my husband and I knew exactly where we needed to be at what time. Peter, Kim, and the rest of the staff kept everything running smoothly the entire night. The night was totally stress free for us and our guests. Everyone could not stop talking about how gorgeous and unique The Thaxton was and how smoothly everything ran. Everything about The Thaxton was wonderful! We were planning our wedding from out of state and Kim and Peter were extremely flexible with our schedule. They were able to answer any questions that we had and offered helpful suggestions. The day of the ceremony, Kim and "Mad Dog" assisted with the setup of the cake/cupcakes and guided us through each part of the event. We had an amazing time and our guests kept saying what a neat venue The Thaxton is. If you're looking for a smaller, more intimate venue, look no further than The Thaxton. This is a great place and I can guarantee you and your guests will have a great time.

We just had our wedding at The Thaxton this past weekend, on the 7th. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing Kim and Mad Dog were with everything; from the helping of the planning to the very end of our reception they were nothing but wonderful! Everything was flawless with the ceremony and reception. Mad Dog and Kim were always checking if we needed anything and if the pace of the events were going at the right speed. Also, the bartenders were on point! No one was crowded at the bar waiting for drinks, you got up there and 10 seconds later you had a well poured drink in your hand. If you are looking for a DJ, I would also recommend you use the house DJ for the Thaxton. He played all the right music and definitely listed to what you did and didn't want played. All our family and friends could not stop saying how great and unique of a venue it was, and I could not agree more. Thank you so much for making our day perfect!

The Thaxton is an awesome space to host your special event. The décor is unique and very beautiful. Peter and Kim are very easy to work with and provide excellent service. Everyone at our daughter's wedding commented that the event was one of the most beautiful they had ever been to. A good portion of the guests arrived (at our request) in "Gatsby" attire. The evening was very fun, and everyone got into the theme very quickly. You can't go wrong with The Thaxton. Give them a call and see for yourself!

I didn't know what to expect when my daughter and her fiancee took me to visit The Thaxton for their upcoming wedding but I was open to what they both wanted. Upon entering, I was amazed at the beauty of the venue. As we toured, I could see my daughter's face light up and we knew this was "the place". I can not explain how Peter and Kim made us feel like family. Going through the process of all the arrangements, Peter was quick to help. He had some wonderful ideas as wellas he was open to our ideas and things just fell into place. The day before we were able to bring in our personal touches, which made 'wedding day' so much easier. The day of the wedding could not have gone much smoother. Our guest were in aww from the moment they walked in to the moment they left. The food was perfect, the DJ worked wonders with the crowd and the evening was a success. If you are thinking about getting married, please give this venue an opportunity to make your day special.

I had the time and party of my life at The Thaxton! All of my friends raved about the venue and it provided the perfect atmosphere and experience to make my 30th birthday absolutely unforgettable! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and Mad Dog was the perfect doorman. =) (Very LGBT friendly, too!)

The Thaxton was the perfect venue for my wedding reception! Everyone on the staff, especially Peter, was so immensely helpful both before and during the big day. Whenever I ran into an obstacle such as not having heavy enough table card holders, they offered an excellent solution. They really know what they're doing and were so great about always knowing where myself and the groom knew where to be.
The elevator is fantastic if you have guests with handicaps. The multi-level set-up gave us a lot of flexibility and everything was truly perfect. We also used their catering and it was DELICIOUS. I got so many compliments on the food. He gave us helpful photography hints, and it seemed like there was someone there to take care of everyone at all times.
I wish I could get married here again!

We recently used The Thaxton for our rehearsal dinner and could not have been more pleased. Peter and Kim made the process of planning an easy yet enjoyable time. From the initial walk through to the tasting to the event itself, all details were handled flawlessly. They do a great job of making you feel more like friends than clients. They were quick to answer any questions and were willing to go the extra mile to make sure the rehearsal was exactly as we envisioned. There is literally not a single thing that we looked back and thought could have been done better. They know what they're doing and will have your guests talking about the one of a kind experience for a long time. We have recieved so many compliments on the unique event space since the dinner. I would highly recommend letting them make your special event one no one will forget!

I couldn't have asked for more for my wedding at The Thaxton. It is the perfect combination of elegance, originality and most importantly fun. Peter and Mad Dog, along with DJ Uptown, truly know how to throw a party. It was easy to plan, and I had every confidence that things were going to be just as I wanted. Peter's flexibility to "make it happen" is refreshing. Numerous guests have told us, it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to - I contribute that LARGELY to the venue and the atmosphere it creates!!! AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!!!

We chose The Thaxton as the venue for our wedding reception. When we first walked in about a year ago, we immediately knew we needed to look no further. From the moment we stepped in, we were sold. Such an amazing building with beautiful art deco on the main level and one of the coolest bar/dance atmospheres downstairs that we ever saw. We didn't even bother looking at the other candidates, there was no need. Kim was awesome to work with, very flexible and open to requests. She even met us at our bank when we had a last minute change in the payment arrangements. They gave us 2 hours to set up, not that you need to do much, atmosphere is already superb. Peter was great to work with during our reception, even went as far as to fetch us drinks while we tried to greet each and every of the 150 guests. We couldn't have asked for things to go better. As a vendor, working at the Thaxton was a dream. Such a Gorgeous venue with infinite character... The retro decor was a perfect match for my Speakeasy Steet Station.
Working with the Thaxton team (Kim, Peter and Mad Dog) exceeded my expectations as they were very helpful, flexible and kind. Our company has hosted our office Christmas party at The Thaxton twice now and both times it's been a hit with our employees. Not only is The Thaxton a unique and fun place for an event - Peter, Kim, and their staff really go out of their way to make sure every detail is addressed. They are exceptionally easy to work with and very flexible. The website gives you a glimpse of the space, but a visit to The Thaxton is the only way to truly appreciate the restoration work that went into this Downtown STL landmark.

I had our clubs Holiday party at the Thaxton the day after it snowed 6"!
When I arrived to set up my part the snow was completely cleared, all the tables and linens were set up and the building was 100% ready for our group. The staff was even ready to serve or help us in any way I needed. Amazing considering the horrible weather!

Words can not properly describe how beautiful this event space is! From the ceiling, Art Deco decor and the lower level Speakeasy to the classic pinup art on the walls.... this space is one of the most unique and beautiful I have ever booked.

Both Peter and Terry were so easy to work with. I nor any of my 80+ guests had any complaints. Everything was perfect! The Thaxton was truly the easiest, most professional venue that I have dealt with in all my years of event planning.

I will be returning!

From the top down, everyone at the Thaxton / Speakeasy went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. Our staff raved about the venue as well as the catering which was all done in house. I've spent a great time of my professional career on the venue side and I can tell you they worked very hard to make it look easy and seamless (which I know it is not). My wife and I got married at the Thaxton two years ago, and I regret that we are only writing a review now. Planning a wedding is quite stressful as most people would probably agree, but things could not have gone more smoothly working with Peter, one of the two owners. We met with him before checking out several other venues, and I almost didn't bother with the others. Firstly, Peter is a genuinely nice guy and was obviously a very honest guy to work with. He was very accommodating to whichever caterer we wanted to bring in and was well connected enough to already know the higher end caterer we decided to bring in. He is also in the wine business and made sure to get us exactly what we wanted. He even went out of his way to talk to me earlier in the day of our wedding to tell me he'd picked out special bottles for just me and my wife. Throughout our reception, he was giving us extra special attention and making sure everything went smoothly. The rest of the staff - and especially the house DJ - were excellent. We are still getting compliments from people about how great a party the Thaxton staff put on for our wedding.

The venue is one of the coolest buildings you will ever visit, particularly if you like art deco and are into places with a lot of atmosphere. One of Peter's staff is an artist that painted very unique murals all around the high walls. The basement speakeasy is a one of a kind place with equally interesting and cool art decorating the walls.

When we returned last Christmas for drinks and a visit, he remembered us right away - by name - and hung out with us at the speakeasy bar when it was a bit quieter that evening. When we eventually move back to St. Louis, we will be regulars and would recommend this to anyone looking for a more unique event or wedding reception space. Hats off to the Thaxton.

The Thaxton is one of a kind! Where do I even begin?? Well for starters Peter is amazing and literally helped me all year with questions and concerns. He was so professional and personable. He took a lot of the stress of planning off my plate and trust me with planning an out-of-state wedding that can be a lot... The day of the wedding was literally perfect! The venue looked beautiful! I had guests coming up to me telling me it was the best wedding they have ever been too. If you are looking for a unique intimate spot to have a wedding or event this is your place. We decided on the Thaxton because of its intimate atmosphere. From the rehearsal through the end of the evening the Thaxton and its staff was absolutely amazing. We never had to ask them to do anything. The speed and ease from which they transitioned from the ceremony to the dinner was flawless. The bar and dancing area was perfect for the number of guest we had. The Thaxton staff made my daughters night the focus and their performance only enhanced the evening. The Thaxton was the absolute best choice my fiance and I could have ever made during our wedding planning. If you are like us and looking for a more intimate venue with character to boot this is your place! The Thaxton was an absolute dream; as you walk into the building you are greeted with the most gorgeous art deco murals, gold crown molding, and a spiral stair case leading to the upstairs mezzanine. After dinner, you take an old time elevator to the speak easy lounge in the basement. The speak easy was just what the party needed to get started! Our guests are still talking about what an amazing experience they had; we had 110 people for a sit down dinner. Peter, Mad Dog, Kim and the entire Thaxton staff was such a pleasure to work with. During the planning processes they were there by our sides with any questions or concerns we had, and they made our day run so smoothly. My fiance, myself and all our guests had such a spectacular night I couldn't ever imagine having our reception anywhere else. We also used Bridget from "flowers to the People" florist, I HIGHLY recommend Bridget! She made The Thaxton look even more romantic and special than it already is, and she was a pleasure to work with as well! The only negative was that the night was all too short! I cant say enough how amazing The Thaxton was for our wedding and reception. Peter and Kim were so accomadating and put me at ease about the whole event. We had 125 guest for the wedding and then flipped the main level for the reception. All of our guest not only commented on how amazing the space was they also commented on the staff and how they just knew what to do and make things happen. We were given a sheet with vendors to use that was very helpful ecspecially with the caterer. I would defiantly recommend The Thaxton to anyone! My husband and I want to have another wedding there because it was such an amazing day!!

My husband and I were looking for something a little non-traditional for our ceremony and reception. We found a perfect match in The Thaxton. It is a very unique and beautiful space.

The decor is so amazing and, since it already has so much going on in the space, there was no need for lots of flowers or decorations of our own, which was really nice! That definitely saved us some money.

Everything from start to finish was perfect. The planning process could not have been easier. I worked with Peter and could not have asked for a more helpful and experienced person to put the whole thing together.

The Speakeasy located downstairs is just amazing and the moonshine was spectacular! I would recommend this vendor to anybody for any number of special events.

Perfect place for our parent's surprise 40th wedding anniversary! Could not have found better people to work with. Peter was fabulous is helping with the "surprise"! The venue has the perfect setup for intimate parties. Even though this was a larger group than we anticipated, The Thaxton fit so well with the dinner tables and then the bar/lounge area downstairs. Everyone at our party was blown away by the whole night. The DJ did a fantastic job, the valet service was a big stress reliever off our minds for guests parking in the winter time, and the caterer and bakery worked so well with Peter and the rest of the staff at The Thaxton. I would definitely use The Thaxton again and people from our party are already telling everyone they know about the place. A BIG thank you again to Peter and everyone at The Thaxton! If anyone needs a place to book for a party, this is it! Don't even look anywhere else because you won't be disappointed!

I had a survey done by all of our clients as well. Everyone loved the venue and consistently gave feedback that they had an absolute blast! There was one negative that came up more than once (having nothing to do with the venue, but thought you would want to know): the catering side of things was less-than amazing. For the same cost as the caterers, we were getting substantially higher quality/quantity provisions at the Hilton and our clients vocalized their recognition of the difference. That said, it was only a handful that felt this way about the food, but, across the board, people loved the Thaxton! Thanks again for the Hooch!

We have nothing but great things to say about The Thaxton. The Thaxton staff, Peter, Terry, and Kim, were proactive and responsive during the planning, rehearsal, and the wedding. They are very flexible and will work with your ministerial, florist, catering, and setup choices. They offer a recommended list on their website that helps you make the right choices. Peter promptly responds to emails and his advice was very helpful

Peter went above and beyond by accommodating our special request for Grayson's Cabernet Sauvignon wine. Terry was there to open The Thaxton for our florist, Bridget Weible with Flowers to the People (http://www.flowerstothepeople.biz), who we found on The Thaxton's recommended list and also did an awesome job. Our photographer, Mandy Evans (http://www.mandyevansphoto.com), was also allowed to take pre-wedding pictures of The Thaxton.

The physical layout of The Thaxton is perfect for smaller venues of less than 120 guests. The layout allows an efficient use of space. The downstairs bar is open approximately an hour before the wedding so early guests (and the groom) can enjoy a pre-wedding drink. The ceremony is conducted on the main floor, which comfortably held our 80+ guests.

Terry was on cue with all of our requested wedding songs, and Peter ensured the ceremony progressed as planned. The Thaxton allowed our own unique decorations, candles, and setup. The wedding went as planned. The speaker system is excellent and supports any device with an audio jack. Peter and Terry prefer Apple products, and an iPod works great.

After the ceremony, guests move to the downstairs bar area for drinks and appetizers while the Thaxton staff and your caterers prepare the main floor for your toasts, dinner, and dessert. The staff completed this with speed and efficiency. In just one hour, the upstairs looked completely different than our wedding ceremony.

For dinner, the main floor is bigger than it looks. There was plenty of room for our guests, the tables were large and no one was cramped. For dinner, we chose Vito's (http://vitosstl.info/) who provided equally excellent service. Vito's was one of several caterers recommended by the Thaxton, and we were equally happy with his service. One of the several reasons we chose The Thaxton was our distaste for "wedding food," which is basically overpriced hotel food. Vito's owns an excellent Italian restaurant, and the catered food was just as excellent as the choices on his restaurant menu. Vito's and The Thaxton staff coordinated wine and drink service with our dinner. After dinner, there was plenty of room to cut the wedding cake, which was provided by Russo's (http://www.russosgourmet.com/index.php?p=24), and was perfect in view and taste.

After dinner and dessert, we return to the downstairs bar for the first dances and party. The Thaxton's recommended DJ, NAME, was responsive and helpful. He played all requested songs and kept the party going. The Thaxton has a full service bar, so guests that want drinks not provided in the wedding package can purchase them individually. These options include top shelf bourbon, scotch, mixed drinks, and other liquors. The bar a la carte prices were reasonable and in line to what the drinks cost at downtown St. Louis bars, there was no gouging.

At the conclusion of the wedding party, Peter, Terry, and Kim were gracious enough to humbly thank us for the business and gave us a wedding gift.

The Thaxton was an ideal site for our small wedding (125). The venue provided excellent opportunities to incoporate the "pinterest" touches my daughter wanted. We had our company Xmas party at The Thaxton and it was a fantastic experience. The venue itself is amazing and very unique with the Art Deco decor and the three levels made it verstile to all types of people/preferences. The Thaxton was not only a PERFECT venue, but they also offered us catering and secured a (fabulous) DJ too! The food was great, the atmosphere was unique, fun and especially relevant, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and they were so flexible. We arrived a little late and they offered to extend our time on the back end to make up for it...without us even asking! Our clients had nothing but good things to say about it - a great time was had by all. I think the only thing that was a little difficult, but also part of the allure, was that the alley entrance was tucked away and a small, puddle-filled trek for those of us in heels; but otherwise, all good.

If only we were nearby and had such a specialized need again! I'd love to utilize the Thaxton. I'd definitely recommend this venue and staff to anyone on the market for a cool place. It's an excellent value, your attendees will love it, and the gooey butter cake is amazing! THANK YOU so much for a wonderful experience!

We had our Tenth Anniversary party at the Thaxton and it was perfect! They were very flexible and accomodating with us and our event designers. The rooms are gorgeous and all our guests were blown away by how beautiful everything was. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone who wants to throw an elegant, fun party downtown.

We held our rehearsal dinner at the Thaxton and had an incredible time. Kim was very easy to work with, Mad Dog was awesome the night of and definitely adds a cool uniqueness to the staff. Our party dressed up in 1920's gear to go along with the speakeasy venue and we had a fabulous time. Would definitely recommend the Thaxton.

We used the Thaxton for a corporate holiday party. Everything was easy and seamless. Peter and the team accommodated any special request that we had.

We had Mission Taco (Cater al Fresco) cater the event. It was amazing! I highly recommend them for future events. The price was appealing, but the gourmet taco bar got rave reviews from our guests.

There was some disconnect the day of the event with the table floor plan. We picked a cocktail style floor plan for for our reception and when the room was flipped it ended up being set down style. We also went with cocktail style food, and ordered flowers for the different cocktail style tables, so it was a little bit of a disappointment when we were brought back upstairs for the reception. Overall the service was outstanding and Kim and Peter were there every step of the way the day of the event to make sure it all ran smooth.I would highly recommend this venue for any event and will use them again in the future. The venue is awesome and photographs amazingly.

I had a great time working with the Thaxton. They gave us everything that we asked for, and were willing to do anything to accommodate our group. The food and service was absolutely amazing. Very friendly staff. The DJ did a phenomenal job of catering to the wide variety of ages within our group. I will definitely be using them in the future.

Actually I had my rehearsal dinner party here- but I don't see an option for that listed. However, our experience with the Thaxton was fantastic. I was so glad we found a way to use this amazing space during the wedding festivities. It is such a cool place to bring guests- everyone was blown away by its uniqueness. We actually looked at the Thaxton originally as a ceremony/reception venue but it was a little too small for our guest list. I think a wedding of up to 120ish guests would fit great here. If you're looking for an incredibly unique place to get married, the Thaxton is hard to beat! The speakeasy downstairs made for one of the best parties our guests had ever been to- and if you can get Miss Jubilee & the Humdingers to play, like they did the night of our party, it will make for a night no one will every forget!

The quality of service was amazing. We had a wonderful night and our guests were very pleased with the workers and the venue. The responses from Peter (the guy who helps you through the event) were very quick but there were multiple times that he forgot what we wrote. Not a huge deal but 4/5 because of it. Professionalism was great. The value was pretty good (considering the service was amazing I felt like the wedding looked more expensive than it was). The staff's flexibility was amazing as well.

We stumbled upon this venue randomly after pretty much running out of unique options within our price range. After walking into the building, I knew this was our place. The art is absolutely exquisite and the size was perfect for our wedding and reception. Though it was a bit higher than we were looking for, the quality of service on our wedding day was no less than spectacular. Peter and Terry made it so easy for us to breeze through the event. It's like they were our day-of wedding coordinators. They made announcement, kept us on track, and let people know where they wanted to be. I was worried that I might have to ask my mom or sister to handle these tasks, but Peter reassured me that they would handle almost everything for us. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in STL!

The Thaxton is a very unique event space. Your guests will all agree how beautiful the place is, and is definitely a nice change from your typical event space. The downstairs feels very intimate and cozy, and the upstairs has a historical museum feel. Your event will be very memorable at the Thaxton!
