The Stylist Abroad is an incredible company to work with for my wedding hair and makeup. From the beginning, they were responsive, professional, and clear with pricing and services. I picked them because of their inclusiveness as well as how clearly beautiful their styling was. I had Aida do our make up and Kim do our hair. I was completely in love with my hair and make up! I have a lot of very long hair and Kim did a fantastic job following my inspiration and adding flowers to my braid. Aida did a trial for me and was very good a taking my description and making it a reality. They both are extremely kind, professional and made me feel like they really cared about how I looked on my wedding day! I highly recommend them, I am so beyond pleased with the services they provided! -

Highly recommend the Stylist Abroad team! Ashley was so professional and easy to work with! She was so helpful throughout the wedding planning process, from finding the right stylists for me, scheduling trials, and helping plan the timeline, she made it all so easy! When one of my original stylists became unavailable for our wedding date, Ashley made sure to provide me with another stylist and a second trial for free to make sure my new stylist and I were on the same page, which was so so nice. We used Stylist Abroad for both Hair and Makeup services and everything went so smoothly! Highly recommend! -

Do not hesitate to book The Stylist Abroad for your wedding day hair and makeup! Ashley was phenomenal to work with, she responded quickly to all of my many questions and when the original stylist I had chosen was moving states, Ashley made sure to communicate the other options I had so that I was in comfortable with who I would be working with! My hair and makeup trial went seamlessly, and the stylists are true professions who recreated my reference photos beautifully. While there was a small hiccup on my wedding day (by no fault of Ashley), she apologized profusely and gave us a partial refund, without me even meaning to receive one! If I ever need professional hair or makeup again, I would be sure to book with this company! -

Gabby and Jenna were phenomenal not only for the trial session but day of as well. They incorporated everyone’s little tweaks and were fun to have in the suite.
It also meant a lot to have an inclusive company respectful of the LGBT community! -

From my first call with Ashley to the beautiful work of Michelle, I am so thankful for the Stylist Abroad team! Ashley was so friendly and knowledgeable in my intro phone call. She was able to answer questions I had about using cultural hairpieces for my Indian fusion wedding. Michelle was wonderful and flexible for my trial, being super patient while we perfected my look and offering great suggestions on adaptations and hair pieces. She made me feel so fancy and beautiful for my wedding day. They also proactively coordinated with my makeup artist which was SUPER nice for a busy bride! I LOVE how the Stylist Abroad team truly leads with their values. They are inclusive, culturally responsive, and thoughtful in their in-person and social media approach. I could not be happier that they were involved in my special day. -

I worked with Gabby for my hair and she was so sweet and does amazing work! Ashley, the owner, is very experienced and makes the process as easy as possible. If you're looking for the most amazing hairstylist for your next big event, look no further. Ashley is absolutely outstanding! Not only is she tremendously talented but she is the sweetest person. I went to Ashley for my wedding hair and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. She took my inspiration pictures and gave me something even better than what I could have imagined. She's so easy to work with and truly understands styling. I can't recommend her enough.

The stylist aboard was recommended tour by our makeup artist, and we are glad that we went with them. Ashley the owner is organized, responsive and was flexible in rescheduling a full year due to COVID. Our stylist Michelle was able to complete 6 formal hair dos at each bridal party members request, that lasted the entire evening. They were not local to the Southern, MD area, but had reasonable travel fees. I would recommend them to anyone in the Maryland area! -

Dream come true!
I had a trial before finding Stylist Abroad and was devastated on how far from what I envisioned the trial turned out. When I explained this to Sarah R., she truly brought my vision come true. She truly listened what I wanted in having a high bun but having it simple and clean. During the actual wedding day, Sarah R. did a truly amazing job! I had her actually cut some lengths on the side to get some cute curls on the side. This is how much I TRUSTED her. She also did 4 bridesmaids and they all turned out amazing! Everyone's hair lasted all night long and nothing felt out of place! I cannot recommend The Stylist Abroad for anyone's wedding! They are truly professional, creative, and made everyone feel beautiful! -

Over the top amazing
Not only was my hair absolutely perfect for my wedding day, Ashley was also the sweetest woman ever. I ripped one of my contacts and didn’t have any extra... she had the same prescription as me and gave me not one but TWO extra contacts. If it weren’t for her saving the day, my wedding would’ve been a blurry mess in my eyes. Also, we had some wedding party drama and had to swap out a girl that was supposed to get her hair done by her and Ashley was happy to accommodate anything we needed. She also even gave some helpful advice on the wedding party drama. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! -

I loved working with Ashley and Sarah for my micro wedding. Ashley was super communicative and easy to work with. Because I'm in DC, I worked with Sarah who was fantastic. At our trial she made some suggestions to get my hair in its best shape for my wedding day, and we worked together to come up with a plan for my hair. Day-of, Sarah was early to arrive, and a calm presence as we got ready. My hair looked absolutely gorgeous and the extensions matched my color perfectly. Was very happy to work with them! -

Ashely was a dream to work with from start and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Ashley is professional, prompt, and down to earth. During my trial, Ashley took the time to understand my vision and went above and beyond what I had envisioned. I also chose to add extensions to my hair and Ashley made the process seamless by finding the perfect color match and ordering the extensions which took so much stress off of me!
Ashley's communication was excellent and she made sure to keep in touch with me throughout the wedding planning process. Day of, Ashley arrived on time and stayed on schedule. I was provided with the cutest touch-up bag with bobby pins and hairspray but didn’t even need to use it! The products she used did an amazing job keeping my hair in place during my wedding and when it came time to take my hair out, it felt so soft! -

I felt like Ashley really took the time to get to know me as a person and understand what I was looking for my wedding day. Fabulous Hair
Ashley did a fantastic job with the hair for the bride, bridesmaids and mom. Everyone LOVED their hair and she captured the look they wanted perfectly. Having a wedding in the middle of a global pandemic presented special challenges and Ashley was able to make everyone feel beautiful, special, comfortable and safe throughout the whole process. I highly recommend her! -

Wonderful Stylist and Friend
Ashley was a dream to work with! She showed up at the bridal suite early and ready to take on the day with me! We had a couple of unexpected changes to the schedule that Ashley quickly took charge and recommended swaps that helped us keep on schedule. My hair held in place literally all night and same with all my bridesmaids, we were all so pleased with her work.
I’ve worked with Ashley twice now and wouldn’t hesitate to work with her countless more times (#covidbride)!
I will honestly miss not planning a wedding next year because it means I won’t be working with her!!

My bridal party and I felt so lucky to have had Ashley and her assistant Michelle there to get us ready for my wedding day! They took each of our visions for hairstyles and turned it into a reality. Ashley used extensions and worked with a few different hair textures throughout the day and everything turned out beautifully. Ashley provided me with the cutest little touch up bag with bobby pins and hair spray. My hair stayed perfectly throughout the day, I didn't even need it! But it was the perfect extra thing to throw in my bag on the honeymoon. Thank you so much Ashley and Michelle! Our day would not have been the same without you! -

Ashley was absolutely fantastic to work with! I had a trial before my wedding. On the big day she took into account all of my feedback from the trial and my hair looked amazing! Ashley arrived on time the day of the wedding and stayed on schedule so I was ready to go by the time my photographer requested. By the end of the night not a single pin was out of place in my up-do. I was able to switch out my veil to a different hair accessory without anything about the style shifting or coming undone. Highly recommend! -

I can’t say enough good things about The Stylist Abroad! Ashley and her assistant were PHENOMENAL! I had 10 bridesmaids and was worried that it would be difficult to pull off that many hairstyles in 5 hours! It was like magic watching the speed and ease at which they worked. It was effortless. My bridesmaids had varying hair lengths, thickness and textures and each asked for a different hairstyle. Ashley and her stylist didn’t skip a beat and each hair style was equally as beautiful.
Additionally, I absolutely LOVED my wedding hair— I got so many compliments! During the hair trial, Ashley was able to replicate the picture I brought in and we made adjustments based on my preferences. Ashley was also able to beautifully weave in my hair piece.
She was professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. I can’t recommend her enough! I would choose her again in a heartbeat. -

I loved working with Michelle. She totally understood what I wanted and listened to my concerns. The hair trial was so easy and fun. Then at the wedding she really knocked it out of the park! My hair is really frizzy and I tend to sweat and she created an updo that lasted ALL NIGHT LONG. It was amazing. I have never seen my hair look that good. But even better than that she did the hair of my 90 year old grandma. Which was so so sweet of her and my Grandma was thrilled. Her hair looked so GREAT! I have never seen it look so full. Some wedding stylists will only do updos but the Stylist Abroad team did a blow out for my Grandma, my Mom and my MIL that were just absolutely beautiful and perfect. It really made everyone's day! -

Ashley was great - incredibly professional, responsive, and flexible. We had many back and forth conversations regarding my hair style and what was possible with the look I was going for and the logistics of a heavy veil I needed to secure for my walk down the aisle. Even more, she listened patiently as I tried to describe the tweaks to my hairstyle (which isn't always easy to communicate!) and was able to figure out how to make that happen. The style I chose was more traditional, which she executed well. Had it been the right look for our wedding, I would have done something more romantic and looser, which she is very skilled at doing (from what I have seen from her other work). My bridesmaids were also very happy with the hair styles Ashely gave them. For all of us, our hair held through the entire day, which was warmer than we expected, and through the evening with dancing. I absolutely recommend Ashley. She also includes personal touches to her services, for a combined effect of professionalism but also warmth. -

I was so lucky to find Ashley! I knew from our hair trial that she was the perfect fit. She understood exactly what I wanted, and was able to create it with such ease. She was even able to quickly show me different variations (which seemed like magic), so we could narrow exactly what I wanted. The day of my wedding she recreated everything exactly like I wanted, and was extremely receptive to how meticulous I was being that day. On top of being an awesome hairstylist, she was so kind and fun to hang out with! All my girls loved her, and their hair and the pictures turned out terrific! I could not recommend her more highly. -

Ashley was the PERFECT stylist for my wedding
I normally do my own hair for events so I had a really hard time finding someone to do my hair - I didn't want just anyone who could do a "good" updo that I could do myself, I wanted an updo that was GREAT. Ashley definitely delivered! She was also very responsive, friendly, and so easy to work with. She was accommodating when I had to change the original time frame, did my hair in a very reasonable amount of time, and had everything I needed to keep it in place all day (I did a hiking elopement, so this was extra helpful for pictures at the summit. It still looked perfect!). I cannot recommend The Stylist Abroad enough. You won't find a better stylist for your wedding, I promise. -

I sent her a few pictures of what I was thinking and she asked the perfect question - “what about these do you like” we were able to narrow down the specifics during the hair trial and then she created the most amazing masterpiece. Seriously! It was like a fairytale hairstyle with twist and braids. I loved it and received so many compliments. Additionally, the day of the wedding she showed up early and had everything we needed. She was calm and kind and made everyone look so beautiful, each having their own unique look. If you’ve been searching for a hairstylist stop here with Ashley. She is the best!!!!!!
