The venue was amazing. It provided my guests with a spectacular view of Seattle for the ceremony. It was a great way for our out of town guests to see Seattle. The crew was very professional and helpful with planning. Everyone had a great time. There was no need to plan entertainment or too many decorations. The boat is elegant and the cruise is entertainment in itself. I would definitely recommend it.

The Virginia V is an outstanding venue for a wedding. The staff is wonderful including Captain Dale whom preformed the ceremony. The entire staff seemed happy to be there and help share in our special day.

The Steamship is also beautiful and provided a wonderful ever changing backdrop for photographs. The ship is a historic landmark and this seemed to add to it's many charms. We had only about 70 at our wedding and this was a great size. You could for sure have more but the small group made this a very intimate experience. This was a perfect venue for our wedding and I can not say anything negative regarding it.

We had our wedding on the Virginia V last weekend and it was amazing. Captain Dale is a charming, funny and professional host and officiant. And the ship is so beautiful that once were toured it, we knew immediately that it was the place.

On the day of, there was a delay in getting the boiler up to speed (the ship is nearly 100 years old!), but Captain Dale took care of coordinating with the caterers and keeping us informed. He kept everything going smoothly and it turned out to be great to have that extra time on the Virginia V to socialize with friends and family before the cruise.

Captain Dale performed the wedding service (we chose the less religious of his two ceremonies), and it was beautiful. He coordinated with the photographers to get the best shots and capture the moment. He was great with my husband's family and nieces who were the flower girls. He also took charge in helping to set up a sparkler send-off on the dock.

The Virginia V Foundation had a list of recommended caterers (working on the ship has its unique challenges for a caterer); we selected Herban Feast and their food was spectacular, and their service was flawless (even with the last-minute schedule changes!).

All the crew were friendly and helpful, explaining the ship and assisting wherever possible, even taking a few photos for us.

It was a great day, a beautiful wedding, and a wonderful cruise - the perfect way to show off Seattle's charms. Many guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Could not ask for more!

When my mother inititally suggested the Virginia V as our wedding venue I shot it down immediately, but we thought about it, and it made so much sense. We had held my Grandpa's birthday party there a couple years previously, and he is a member of the foundation, so we are familiar with the boat. We ended up having the wedding on a Thursday to take advantage of the lower weeknight pricing, plus my grandpa got us an additional discount. We were only officially allowed to have the boat for two hours before departure for set up, but they let us and our vendors come aboard as early in the morning as we wanted to, and we had a shipboard rehearsal with the captain the night before. The boat is super beautiful, with the open engine room and wood finishings, so we did pratically zero decorating outside of table linens and centerpieces and everything still looked amazing.

We didn't really get to have a choice of officiants, but having the captain officiate was one of the reasons we chose the boat as our venue. We are not at all religious, so a priest wasn't going to be the right route, and I felt uncomfortable having essentially a complete stranger officiate. While he wasn't a friend or anything, Captain Dale at least went with the boat, so I felt better about having him do it. Through planning he was super awesome, and easy to get a hold of. He is really excited about weddings, and got us to participate in the boats traditions, like blowing the whistle for the send off. He also was amazing at getting all of our guests together for a group photo. He did have a little trouble getting through our ceremony without a prayer, but it didn't really cause any problems.

The Virginia V (a historic steamship that cruises around Lake Union and Lake Washington) is an absolutely magical venue for a wedding. Numerous guests told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to and it was even better than we could have possibly imagined. If you want your wedding to be not only a ceremony and a party but also an event and activity that shows off why you and your sweetie love Seattle, the Virginia V is your venue. The cost may be somewhat prohibitive for some couples (my parents contibuted the cost of the venue as their wedding gift to us) and many times I wondered if it was going to be worth it. After the wedding, I have no doubt that it was worth it for us. Our wedding is something that we and our family and friends will never forget.

We never figured that we would be the type to have a "nautical" wedding, but that's where we ended up and it was great! It was a wonderful ceremony aboard the bow and while everyone was squeezed pretty tight up front, it was still a fun time. We even had random people clapping/yelling from other boats nearby! The tour to Lake Washington was also nice and relaxing—it was especially nice for our out-of-town family and friends that got to see another side of Seattle. The boat was beautiful and it was something unique and different for a wedding. We loved it!

This is an absolutely beautiful steamship located at South Lake Union in Seattle. We held our engagement party on the ship, and all of our guests were blown away that it wasn't our actual wedding. The staff are incredibly helpful. The only downside is that you have to bring in outside catering, and the kitchen (galley) they have to work with is very tight and a bit limited.
