Perfect Venue

We toured many venues, but ultimately fell in love with the Stanley. We loved the gorgeous three-tiered building, the professional and friendly staff, and the charming down town Lees Summit.

Cindy, her husband and Karly were very patient and flexible and answered all of our questions. We had several special requests (special table placements, cornhole on the roof, audio guestbook, specialty coctails and more) that they were happy to accomodate. One thing that we really appreciated was that they didn't nickle-and-dime us for table placements, decorations, lenens, suites, etc like several other venues. Additionally the drink packages were very reasonable and the two bar setup was perfect.

The building has a lot of character, and is is configurable to sute your needs. The rooftop was very unique and was a nice get-away for our guests to play cornhole and get fresh air. The Aspen room was elegant and exactly the right size. The bridal and grooms suites were very conveninet for the wedding party. The balcony was a nice place for our guests to smoke and look out on down town Lees Summit without feeling isolated.

The day of the wedding, they seamlessly worked very well with all of our vendors and followed any of our instructions. We and our guests were well taken care of. Cleanup was very easy, and they offered to donate our leftovers to the local fire department, which was very helpful.

The Stanley Event Space, Perfect venue!

The Stanley Event Space was the perfect venue for our wedding! We were looking for a venue that had 2 separate areas for the ceremony and reception and they had several gorgeous options. The venue is just absolutely beautiful!

Jennifer was so helpful through the process and made planning a wedding seem easy! She was super responsive and answered all my questions and provided suggestions as well.

On the day of the wedding, we couldn't be any happier! It went so smooth! Sarita, the event coordinator, was amazing! Her experience and knowledge were key during the wedding; directing vendors, putting up day of decorations, etc... She made everything move so seamlessly!

The venue was gorgeous and the staff were so helpful in every way! We couldn't have picked a better venue. We felt so special and would HIGHLY recommend the Stanley event space for any wedding or event!

I cannot imagine a better venue than The Stanley. It is so beautiful and the staff was beyond wonderful to work with. They make your wedding planning quick and painless. Seriously, Cindy and Julie made everything so easy. I was so sad when it was over and I would no longer be working with them. They listen to you and attend to your needs! I had the best experience at The Stanley.

Loved the staff and the venue at the Stanley Historic Event Space. They went above and beyond to make our weeding day one to remember. From answering our questions to handpicking decorations, they made the planning process a breeze. Would definitely suggest you book your wedding here if you want a beautiful and organized wedding!

The Venue was beautiful and wonderful! Thank you for making my day great! The price was awesome and the owners Cindy and her husband are so sweet, helpful and easy to work with. The only thing that disappointed me was the cake was supposed to be cut and served to the family and the bridal party as we had cupcakes for everyone else... Cindy or someone there at the Venue was supposed to cut and serve it as it states in our contract however it was never cut and served and I didn't notice until the next day! We were left with our entire cake and no one got to try it.

Cindy, Tyler, and the staff at The Stanley are absolutely fantastic! My husband and I married in October 2016 and had our reception in the Aspen Room. We honestly could not have been more satisfied with the service we received! Cindy and Tyler went above and beyond to help us through all parts of the planning process. Tyler showed us the space initially during an impromptu visit- we just happened to pop in while he was around. We were more than impressed with the beauty of the Stanley and came back for a formal meeting with Cindy.... and we were hooked! Cindy was overly accommodating. She helped me through multiple phases of the planning process, to include recommending other vendors and letting me change my mind no less than three times on table linens and centerpieces :) She was upfront and honest, genuine, and pleasant. Throughout the planning process, my husband and I discovered that Cindy and The Stanley are well known in the local wedding community. They have an outstanding reputation throughout. Every time we contacted a potential vendor and told them where we had booked our reception, they raved about how great Cindy and her team are to work with! Cindy took all of the heavy lifting off of me, and made me feel completely at ease. She told me who to call for what (in terms of vendors), and went so far as to create a detailed table layout so that I would have something to refer to when setting up table centerpieces and other decor. On Wedding Day, we received stellar service. Everything was setup as promised, and The Stanley staff went out of their way to make sure that our day was absolutely perfect. At the end of the night, the staff went above and beyond to help my parents pack up all of our decorations and make sure that nothing was left behind. I could go on and on trying to articulate how satisfied we were with the Stanley, but nothing I could say would ever quite to do it justice. Cindy, Tyler, and the Stanley are simply fantastic!

The Stanley is the most amazing place to get married at. Whether you choose the Historic Space or the Aspen Room, you will be the happiest couple in the world on your wedding day. The people who work at the Stanley are so kind and truly care about their couples. I had an issue with my wedding dress (long story) but Cindy personally called the dress shop and got the alterations people to come and take care of me. Not every venue owner would do that for their brides. I will happily recommend The Stanley anytime someone asks me for venue suggestions! Thank you Stanley staff for the best day of my life!!!

The staff at The Stanley are truly remarkable. They care about your event from the moment you meet them. Every vendor spoke highly of Cindy and her staff. Throughout the whole wedding planning process Cindy was always a phone call or email away. She was very responsive and professional. The Stanley staff made our wedding day run so smoothly it felt like I didn't have to do anything! They coordinate with all your vendors on the day of and go out of their way to make your day perfect. The venue is absolutely beautiful and my husband and I were so happy we chose The Stanley for our big day.

We wouldn't have changed a thing! We were married here 8-15-15. From the minute we walked through the door for our first meeting, we knew this would be the place we said I do and held our reception. From the grooms suite to the rooftop ceremony to the gorgeous ballroom- this venue is unbelievable. Cindy and all the staff at both locations were so amazing and easy to work with. They are wonderful to communicate with and always got back to me in a timely manner. We received so many compliments on our venue and how beautiful everything was. We couldn't imagine having our day anywhere else!

We not only held our wedding at The Aspen Room location but held our Rehearsal dinner at The Historic Space next door, which is also so beautiful and warm. Caitlin was so easy to work with and had everything ready to go a couple days before. You really do not need alot of decorations for either space due to how beautiful they are on their own.

Thank you all so much from our first meeting to picking up our decor a couple days after our wedding. You all made our day so amazing and we wouldn't have changed a thing! THANK YOU

We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding. Not only is it beautiful but the staff is amazing. It is like having a wedding planner included. Cindy is extremely knowledgable and just knows how to make her venue work to your advantage.

Oh my lord where do I even begin! Our wedding at the Stanley was nothing short of amazing. We had multiple meetings with Cindy the owner and I always felt at ease when I left there. The day/evening of our wedding was beautiful! Cindy does a great job making sure that all of the vendors and people bringing things in and out for the wedding day are on schedule. The facility is clean and welcoming and the decor even in the bathrooms is fabulous! No details go unnoticed. We cannot say enough great things about the Stanley!

My wife and I were married on January 1st, 2015 and a large part of what made the day so perfect was The Historic Stanley. We had so many guests come up to us and gush over the design of the building, the reasonable cash bar, and the intimacy of the setting. On our end, we could not say enough about the commitment, organizational ability, and genuine pleasantness of the Stanley representative who coordinated our wedding, Caitlin. Seriously, she is positively amazing! The Historic Stanley was the perfect venue for our personalities, as it was conveniently located (we live in Lee's Summit and the venue is adjacent to where we got engaged), the staff was friendly and inviting (Caitlin, Adam, and a finely mustachioed bartender), and the classic decor provided a timeless setting.

Cindy King and the crew at the Aspen Room did a fantastic job with our November 14th wedding. The space itself is beyond beautiful and has so many special touches to make it even more perfect (i.e. a prep kitchen, bridal suite, groom's suite, rooftop space). Cindy and Caitlin were more than happy to answer all of my questions and put me at ease throughout the entire process. The service day-of was more than I ever could have expected (they even guided us through a hydrangea mishap) and I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Thank you, the Stanley Event Space! You all are amazing!

We cannot say enough good things about the Aspen Room. Cindy and her staff (Adam - the bar manager, as well as the other bartender were great the entire night) are truly amazing to work with and made sure our wedding and reception went smoothly from start to finish. The space is gorgeous. Our guests are still talking about the amazing venue a month later. You will not be disappointed if you go with the Aspen Room.

The whole team was very organized and always available for questions. Cindy is amazing to work with! She makes you feel confident in the decisions you make and is very helpful! I can not express enough gratitude to Cindy, Brian, and the entire staff at the Stanley. From beginning to end they were absolutely amazing to work with. Cindy helped me pick out decor for the guest tables, as well as general set up and referring excellent vendors. Not only is the staff outstanding with customer service, the venue is so beautiful and classic. My only advice is to act quick and book a free consultation to see what they have to offer because this place is popular and books up fast! The best decision we made through our entire wedding planning process was booking the aspen room. I didn't stress at all knowing that the professional and caring staff was there to help us take care of any bumps along the road. Do your self a favor and book with them

I have absolutely nothing to say about the Aspen Room at the Stanley but praise! The owners are an incredibly kind married couple who genuinely care about making your wedding day all that you want it to be. From start to finish, Cindy offered us guidance on all things wedding and recommended great vendors for us. I felt as though I had a personal wedding planner as she was incredibly quick to respond to my emails and was always thinking one step ahead of me. She worked very well with both of our mothers during the wedding planning and took very detailed notes in all of our meetings to ensure she didn't forget a thing! This venue was created especially for weddings and they did not miss a thing! The pictures speak for themselves! It is well worth the price as they will not disappoint you and will be sure to ease the stress of planning a wedding.

We had our wedding at the Stanley Event Space and the staff was just amazing! Cindy went out of her way to work with us from the start. We had a difficult time trying to find a venue to hold our very small ceremony and reception at of only 22 guests. Cindy found a way to make it work at a price we couldn't find anywhere else, especially for such an elegant venue. But it didn't stop there! My Photographer (who was also providing the centerpiece arrangements for my 3 tables) was an hour and a half late pushing everything behind and making me a very unhappy bride to say the least. After Cindy saw how distressed I was she went out of her way once again and offered to extend a little extra time as we had only requested 6 hours time for our wedding and reception and nearly a 1/3 of that time had passed waiting. The Stanley staff continued to provide nothing less than exceptional service throughout the entire evening. Thank you so much for all you did to make our day the very best possible!

The staff was professional, empathetic, caring, energetic and eagar to make my day as stress free and special as possible. The event space was beautiful, clean and everything went so smoothly. Our day seemed like a dream it went so perfectly! Cindy made sure our every request was met and was done so beautifully. She kept up all my emails, and her suggestions were sufficient! The day of our wedding, I was so worry free and relaxed due to not having to set up or do anything I actually found myself helping decorate (because I was ready early as waiting on my 'maids to arrive), even though I didn't have to! Everything was so elegant, and so perfect. We are so happy we picked The Stanley Historic Space!!

Cindy and her team help make our wedding the perfect day. We were helped all along the way for planning for our day and Cindy made sure that we didn't leave out any details. She was also able to accommodate all of the request that we had such as bringing in a barista to serve coffee and for being able to flip over the room in a timely manor since we were the first couple to host our ceremony and reception in the aspen room. They set up all of our decor and lit all of our candles so that we wouldn't have to stress or work on setting up the room when it came to our wedding day. We are so pleased with the whole day and would recommend anyone and everyone to host their event there. It is such a unique and different location with so much character and we just loved it!

We were lucky enough to get married at the Aspen Room at the Stanley. The staff was absolutely amazing to work with. Cindy King made our dream day a reality. We had somewhat of an unusual wedding theme. we chose elegant goth. The space was absolutely stunning and the perfect setting for the big day. Cindy made herself available to us throughout the entire wedding planning period. We booked with them a year and half put from our wedding date and throughout it all I never once felt that our day was any less significant Than the wedding she may have been prepping for that following weekend. I can't express the true gratitude that my husband and myself have for The Stanley staff. The fact that that people are still talking about our wedding day and the venue three months later speaks for itself. Thanks again Cindy King and the Stanley staff for making our day an amazing and unforgetiful day.

We couldn't wait for the day to thank The Stanley staff for creating the most stunning, romantic, and beautiful wedding day for us! We were the very first couple to book in the brand new [absolutely charming + dreamy] Stanley Rooftop + Aspen Room for our fall wedding. I always knew I wanted a fall wedding and the minute we stepped into this venue I fell in love with the unique and authentic yet modern feel to The Stanley Aspen Room + Rooftop. It is breathtaking and gorgeous as it's nestled into the charming, historic downtown Lee's Summit, Missouri. Our wedding day was a true reflection of us as a couple and I give this to Cindy's passion for achieving a design that met our wedding vision and style. Our rooftop, sunset ceremony was so romantic and dreamy! All of the services, upscale amenities, event consultations, and the coordination with vendors that come with The Stanley Event Space make it the perfect wedding venue. It is a hidden gem! Although the space is absolutely stunning, the best part of The Stanley Aspen Room in the staff. Cindy was absolutely fabulous throughout the planning process. She treats every bride as if they are her only client at that time. She was organized, proactive, and most importantly, gracious. Upon arrival on that first day, to the day of our wedding when the last guest left, she and The Stanley Event Space staff left nothing out. The Stanley was perfect on arrival and the wedding surpassed all of my hopes and dreams. The attention they provide to each individual wedding is incredible. They have given the ever-so-rising wedding industry a run for their money. And while every bride might be biased with her choices, the compliments from my guests were affirmation that The Stanley Event Space is truly extraordinary. It is by far the most beautiful, stunning, and charming wedding venue in the Kansas City area.

We just had our wedding at the new Stanley Aspen Room this last weekend and it was beyond perfect! Everyone talks about vendor nightmares and mishaps but we got through the entire ceremony and reception without a single snag! The entire team at the Stanley, especially Jennifer and Adam, were VERY helpful and made planning our wedding easy and enjoyable! Everyone at The Stanley is amazing and you will not regret having your event here. It is a wonderful venue along with amazing staff!!! I had an absolutely perfect wedding at the Stanley. If I was going to do it all over again, I would once again choose The Stanley because they really tried to make everything I ever dreamed of come true. The wedding was perfect. There were a couple of little issues the morning of the wedding that Caitlin took care of before I even knew about them. Cindy is one of the owners and I could have not asked for a more caring and wonderful person to help make my wedding perfect. You will not be disappointed if you choose this venue. It will meet all of your expectations and then some. This is a wonderful venue and it looks beautiful on its own, but looks amazing after the team works their magic. This is a wonderful place to hold any event.

Cindy (owner), Brian (co-owner), Adam (bartender) and all of the staff at the Stanley are absolutely spectacular! They go above and beyond to make every bride feel special and every event marvelous! We had so many of our guests come up to us and say they had an amazing time and that the wedding was wonderful. This was largely due to the efforts of Cindy and all of the staff. This is a beautiful space and they take it over the top! It has that perfect mix of eclectic charm and elegance. Cindy is a SAINT. She works tirelessly to make sure everything is perfect and that things go off without a hitch. She meets with you as many times as you want to get things worked out and put up with my constant indecisiveness. I can't say enough about this place! We are already trying to find more ways to hang out at the Stanley in the future! Much love and gratitude to the Stanley!

Our wedding day at The Stanley was unbelievable. It really went better than we ever imagined it would! We had sooo many comments on how attentive and friendly the staff was that worked our wedding. I was especially impressed with our catering manager, Anna, because I felt she went above and beyond. She was responsive to emails and calls before hand and during the wedding she kept checking in to make sure we were happy. It's unusual for a catering manager to stay for the majority of the wedding to make sure things went smoothly, but she did and there wasn't one aspect overlooked. We were very impressed with how The Stanley team put everything together to insure a perfect and STRESS FREE day for the guests and bride and groom. We even had a butler follow us around during pictures with champagne and food to make sure we were taken care of!

Although The Stanley costs a little more than other venues, it was worth every penny and we wouldn't have changed a thing.

We are eternally grateful for the hard work each staff member put in to our wedding. Thank you!

I used the Stanley for my wedding reception in September and I couldn't have made a better choice! When booking the Stanley, we knew that the venue was gorgeous, what we didn't know was the level of personal attention and above and beyond service that Cindy and her colleagues would provide. During the wedding planning, Cindy was extremely helpful offering suggestions only a person with her experience and expertise could provide. Being a busy bride trying to wade through a mountain of options I found this very valuable. I also found Cindy to be very flexible, professional and readily available. The day of the wedding, I could not have been more impressed with how beautiful the venue looked. No detail had been overlooked. Cindy and her crew even went out of their way to accommodate a few of my last minute requests. I had so many compliments on the choice and decor of the venue. I highly recommend the Stanley and can say with confidence that it will be one of the best aspects of your wedding planning and special day!

The Stanley is a beautiful place for a wedding. It was so nice to have everything all in the same venue. They work so quickly and efficiently to flip the room upstairs after the ceremony. Cindy was so easy to work with. Very accommodating. She had many helpful ideas for me. She was always readily available to answer any questions or to ease my concerns. All in all it made for a very stress free day on our wedding day. I honestly felt like I had absolutely nothing to worry about...and I didn't. Everything was perfect. I also want to mention our wonderful bartender. He did an amazing job keeping up with our group! He was very friendly and there was rarely a wait at the bar. Would most certainly recommend The Stanley to anyone, for any event. And I would use them again any day!

When I walked into The Stanley I knew we had found a venue! Every person affiliated with this venue was fabulous..so refreshing to work with a group of people who truly know how to make dreams come true! You can tell they take pride in their venue and that in itself is what you want to look for in a venue. All the details that come with the venue and their Something Borrowed website made things easier with planning. I highly recommend this venue over any other in the Kansas City area. June 30, 2012...the best day of our lives! As we entered The Stanley that evening for our wedding reception we were absolutely AMAZED at what Cindy, Bryan and Jennifer had created! The rustic elegant style that we liked had come to life and was even better than we could have ever imagined it to be. Cindy, Bryan and Jennifer were amazing to work with!! Cindy met with us on multiple occasions and we completely trusted her vision for our big day. We leaned on her for a lot when it came to planning. Cindy and Jen at the Stanley were two of the best wedding vendors I've ever worked with! They were extremely helpful to me during the whole planning process. They helped me pick napkins, and linens, and little details that seem impossible to decide on! We also had our rehearsal at the Stanley the night before and set up some of our decor. Jen was SO helpful and helped us set everything up. She even added a couple extra details I wouldn't have thought of like a hanging chandelier above our head table which was simply gorgeous and completed the room! The day of she was so nice, offering me wine and water before the ceremony, and took care of anything we needed. I recommend this venue to anyone I know!!! I work in the industry and go to many many weddings a year. These ladies are by far one of the most professional teams I have ever met! Not only are they professional but so nice and friendly, they will feel like a friend by the end of your wedding day! Not to mention the venue is so beautiful, which makes decorating a lot easier, so much character! I can't wait to see the new venue they are building when it is completed. I have no doubt it will be wonderful as well!!!

This is the place to have a perfect, wedding & reception! Cindy & Bryan (owners) went out of their way to do eveything they were asked to do and alot they were not. The venue is elegant, beautiful and loaded with personality not found in any reception space in Kansas City. The guests were very impressed, and having Cindy there as event coordinator was priceless. I am the MOB/wedding planner and could not have been more thrilled. I actually enjoyed myself without stress! My daughter and husband are also thrilled & loved the entire evening. Absolutely the best on every level you can imagine! The space is beautiful & intimate, loaded with charm & personality. Everything was perfect! The minute I walked in to the event space I knew it was what I wanted. Everyone there was wonderful and worked so well with my other vendors to the point that I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day, even though some last minute adjustments were needed due to our large guest count. They took care of everything. It's been a month since our wedding and our friends and family still comment on how wonderful it was.

We had a wonderful wedding at The Stanley! Jennifer was so sweet to work with and so helpful. If I was stressing out or getting worried about something, she assured me it would all be wonderful, and it was! I always felt stress free and relaxed after talking to her.
Planning went great and was a breeze. And everything was so beautiful. They did an amazing job setting everything up and at the end of the night took everything down for us and left me and my family with nothing to worry about other than having an amazing time!
The entire staff was super helpful and sweet! They actually ran out during dinner and bought cake plates and forks for us because we had totally forgot about it!
They provide you with beautiful linens and chairs and lighting and a bridal suit. We had our ceremony at The Stanley too and it was beautiful. And once again they took care of making sure everything went perfectly and smoothly with transitioning from one thing to the next! We received countless compliments on how beautiful the space was and how nice of a wedding and reception was. I would highly recommend The Stanley to any bride, or anyone looking for a space to have an event!

The Stanley is lovely place for a wedding and reception. It feels very intimate. The walls, floor, and ceiling are fantastic; very littel additional decorating is required. My daughter had her ceremony and reception here last weekend and was extremely pleased.

I cannot say enough great things about The Stanley and co-owner Cindy. I had my reception there and I was blown away to say the least!!! Even before the event Cindy was awesome!! She met with me several different times to go over all the details and she was very easy to reach. She goes above and beyond for her clients. About the space, gorgeous!! So much you can do with it and comes with so many extras. Would recommend this space to any bride. I have zero regrets and hope to have another event there again soon.

Cindy at the Stanley could not have been more helpful. She sat down with my mother and I several times before the wedding to go over all of the details. The night of the wedding my vendor did not bring water or tea with dinner. I didn't even know about this until after the fact. Cindy took care of everything! She went out of her way to make sure that my night was perfect. Not only is the customer service amazing but the space itself is beautiful. It's very elegant, yet affordable. My guests couldn't stop talking about how great it was. I would recommend the Stanley 100%.

Having the opportunity with work with Cindy King and use the Stanley Event Space is more than a dream come true for a bridal shower. The Stanley is an absolutely beautiful space. I love the brick walls and gorgeous wood floors. Cindy is amazing to work with and her taste is flawless. She worked with the women helping plan my shower and the result blew me away. The Stanley was an amazing venue for my daughter's bridal shower! It surpassed all our expectations and was the perfect beginning to the countdown of her wedding day:) The natural beauty of the chandeliers, brick walls and wood floors were enhanced with blue lighting that tied in perfectly with the linens and pewter lanterns from Something Borrowed. Cindy King, is amazing to work with she knew exactly what my daughter's style was and along with my best girlfriends created an unforgettable day!! The Stanley is an amazing venue!

Cindy and Bryan were such great people to work with during the entire wedding process. From the minute I stepped into the Stanley for the first time I knew it would be the place I got married. The beauty of the venue and the welcoming spirit Cindy has were the deciding factors. Cindy was on top of everything and made sure every thing I wanted was made possible and perfect! She made sure the look/venue was perfect, that everyone got where they needed to be when they needed to be there, and she even made sure I had plenty of water throughout the day! (Which I probably would have forgot if it wasn't for her!!)
It's the small things they did that meant the most!
My husband wanted a beer they don't normally provide but Bryan made it happen which made Drew super happy!

Thank you both so much! You both were a major part in our day being the perfect day it was!

Cindy, your staff was so helpful in helping to rearrange tables to make room for the cupcakes and guestbook. What ever we needed you were right there to assist. I appreciate the fact that you allowed us to come in 30mins earlier than the contract since you were there setting up, so that we could set up. The room, tables with linens and all the decorations were beautiful, making my Mom's 80th Birthday a memorable event. Everyone thought the venue was beautiful with the lighting and historic decor. Most of guests never knew you were there and thought it was an amazing venue and an exceptional service you provide. Even when our computer equipment didn't hook up to yours for the video, it was quickly fixed. Thank you so much!

I am SO happy that we went with The Stanley for our daughters' Birthday Party. Not only is the space beautiful but Cindy was so helpful throughout the process. They came up with ideas that never would have crossed my mind as far as set up and it all came together to make our party perfect!!!

I could not possible say enough about Cindy at The Stanley. From Day One of planning she was answering my questions and calming my nerves (she’s very good at both of those things). We met with her at least three to four times with different groups of family and answered lots of questions by e-mails (I was an out of town bride). They were amazing to work with over the course of our planning.

I gave Cindy the general idea for the wedding reception (understated elegance), but she really put it all together and had so many great ideas. She paid attention to all the little details. She left nothing unnoticed. She constantly addressed questions and took care of anything that came up. Leading up to the reception and the day of, she did a fantastic job coordinating with all the vendors.

The day of the wedding reception, I walked in and was blown away. It was beyond words and I was literally in tears over how beautiful everything was and how every detail had been taken care of. Every candle, flower, and decoration was in place. They had even surprised me by figuring out how to hang the lanterns that I wanted from the ceiling (thanks Brian)! The whole evening was breathtaking!

I absolutely LOVED having my wedding at The Stanley. When in the planning process, my husband and I knew that we wanted a small, intimate and elegant wedding. The Stanley provided just that and more! The atmosphere of The Stanley is so unique and intimate, the building is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are amazing to work with!

All the staff at The Stanley were wonderful to work with. They were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make my daughters wedding reception beautiful. The venue itself is beautiful, and it made for a lovely ceremony and reception. Several of our guests commented on how nice the venue was, and they were right. The professional staff at The Stanley was always courteous and helpful, especially during the reception. By far the best thing about the venue, though, is Jennifer, the co-owner. She is extremely accommodating and will go out of her way to ensure that your wedding is fantastic.

OMG - I cannot say enough about the Stanley and Cindy and Brian. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Cindy is a doll - extremely professional, very reassuring "don't worry - let me worry about that - you just have a good time". I love the place - I love the people. The bartender was awesome. Cindy was always responsive and helpful with any questions we had. She went out of her way to make sure that she could accommodate any request that we had. The reception looked beautiful and we had so many compliments on how gorgeous the whole location was! The day of the event we could relax and enjoy the entire reception, dinner and dance, because Cindy was there to coordinate and work out all the details.

Daniel and I today are celebrating one month of being happily married. On June 5th of 2011 we were so very blessed to have a team of such amazing people ( Cindy and Brian King) putting our ceremony and reception together st The Stanley from beginning to the end.
I don't even know where to begin to express all the help that Cindy was in the planning process. She has such an eye for decorating with incredible class and elegant style ( we used all of our decorations from their store Something Borrowed ) and so very good at being flexible to change something up...even at the last minute if needed.
There was never a moment of delay when it came to hearing back from or connecting with the The team at the Stanley by phone, email or text message. The promptness was exceptional. The attention to detail was refreshing in a way because I saw that The Stanley was genuinely excited with us for our upcoming wedding, there fore our details became their details and to them there was never a moment to lose in making it happen.
Never once did I question wether or not we were dealing with a professional business, but at the same time I was so comforted to know that The Stanley was so greatly invested in our wedding that I felt like if Cindy and Brian King were not already hosting our wedding with their venue, then I would have wanted to send them an invitation to be our guests!!
I would recommend The Stanley to anyone who is planning an event that is indoors. You will not regret it! Thank you again to Brian and Cindy King for all of your hard work and heart that you put into our special day. Much love, Daniel and Janae'Nelson.

It was LOVE at first site...My future Daughter-in-law and I knew this was the perfect place for their wedding/reception the minute we walked in and we booked it right then ! The space was absolutely amazing having the loft feel they were looking for. Not only was the space great, the owners worked extremely hard to help make their wedding day very memorable. They helped with the decor, centerpieces and many other 'extra's that made the whole experience a day to remember.. As my Son and Daughter-in-law said, they had their dream wedding.. We received many compliments from the guests and we know they all had a great time. Special thanks to owners Brian, Cindy and Jennifer for all their hard work in making this day perfect in every way.. I highly recommend this event space to anyone for any occasion.. Cindy and her staff took care of our big day. While I was in the midst of planning the wedding, my goal was that when the big day arrived I could relax and enjoy it and not worry about everything. While I can't honestly say I was relaxed on the big day (it is just not my nature), I can say that Cindy and every one at the Stanley took care of things so I didn't have too. It took so much of the pressure off. I found that wedding venues are a lot like finding the right man, you just know it when you find it, and The Stanley Historic Event Space was "the one" for me and my husband. A big thank you to Cindy, her husband and her daughter, you are great at what you do. I highly recommend The Stanley not only to brides, but anyone looking for an event venue.

The BEST VENUE around! First class service! First class owners! No details were left out when the VENUE was created! A gorgeous venue! This is a place that you can have a Wedding, Reception, Showers, Birthdays, Retirements, Family Reunions or any kind of gathering that you can think of. The Stanley Historic Event Space was perfect for my wedding reception. I got married on Maui on the 14th of March and had my reception on the 27th. I could not have been happier with Jennifer, pricing or amenities. Everything was better than I could have done myself. So much was included in one single price!

I would highly recommend The Stanley to everyone. I never saw two people work harder and trying to do everything the way you want it done. Extremely professional and friendly. A lovely space that has been restored beautifully. The entire space is spotlessly clean. They are totally committed to your event. Best business people I have ever dealt with. Cindy and her company were far more than just a "rental company". Our daughter and I had a vision of how we wanted things to look, but with Cindy's input, the outcome was so much more. She offered ongoing ideas, researched items for us, made appropriate suggestions, respected our budget and made the entire process wonderful! The outcome was "a winter wonderland" as our guests entered a very large ballroom, that could have otherwise felt large, cold, impersonal and industrial. I cannot imagine everyone feeling the same comfort level in placing the responsibility of one of the most important events in our family's lifetime in her hands. We feel like she's part of the family...I cannot imagine having done with without her!

Cindy helped me create the wedding of my dreams! From the ceremony to the reception sites Cindy made the wedding look like a million dollar wedding! All emails were returned within 24 hours and she was also very flexible when we needed to meet. The day of the wedding I didn't have to worry about a thing. Cindy transformed the outdoor ceremony and inside reception into two very romantic beautiful sites. Cindy was very professional and she is very creative! I highly recommend Something Borrowed!!

I really enjoyed working with Cindy for my wedding. I had an idea of what I wanted for my wedding and she had not only exactly what I was looking for, but gave me many other creative ideas. I received many compliments on the pieces I rented. She is incredibly gracious and kind to work with. Whether I contacted her by email or cell phone, her repsonse was always quick. Everything was delivered on time, even a little early, which from a bride's perspective is fantastic. Cindy is very professional and works very hard at meeting the needs of her clients. Her inventory is quite impressive and if by chance she doesn't have a certain piece she will research and do everything possible to come up with it. Also, Cindy has just opened a venue, The Stanley in Lee's Summit, MO. I can't wait to see it completed!
Our son and his wife chose Something Borrowed to meet their wedding accessory needs last year, and our daughter is looking forward to working with Cindy this Fall for her wedding needs.

Something Borrowed is beyond anything we had imagined. Cindy has a passion for what she is doing, and that clearly shows!! She helped coordinate my son's wedding in a backyard wedding that was absolutely gorgeous, right down to the smallest details. She is now doing my younger son's wedding. And it will be beyond anything we have dreamed!! She has beautiful rental items and fabulous ideas for every wedding...
She takes alot of the stress off of the Bride's and Mom's, in walking with you every step of the way!
I would highly recommend this company.

Cindy did an amazing job on my daughters wedding and reception last October. Since our church is a wide-open multipurpose room we needed a focal point for the ceremony. Cindy knew exactly the look we wanted after our first conversation. She used the large urns with arched tree branches, tiny burnt orange flowers and the swirl votive cups. It was just perfect the way it framed the bride and groom for the ceremony, and the pictures. The tables at the reception were decorated with a variety of lanterns, glass vases, tree twigs, flowers, rocks etc. It was simply beautiful. We had so many compliments from family and friends on the decorations. Cindy did a wonderful job at making everything so unique for my daughter’s theme for the wedding. I would recommend Something Borrowed Fine Rentals for any event.

I wish there were 10 stars because Something Borrowed truly went above and beyond what I asked for or even imagined! I met with them one time to figure out what items I wanted to rent and upon leaving I saw the perfect urn for my outdoor ceremony, the only problem was that it was part of Cindy's, the owner, home decor! Not a problem for Cindy though! She ordered another one just for my ceremony so I could use both to frame the front of the aisle. They even surprised me the day of my wedding with an additional lantern (their gift to me) they had found and thought it would be a perfect touch! I was speechless! They had no problems bringing their rentals to the venue and setting up without asking me where everything went. They were such were such pros! I would highly recommend their services for any special occasion. Thank you Cindy and Jennifer for making my day more beautiful than I could ever imagine! xoxo

Cindy was amazing. She met with my husband and I at least three separate times to help us bring to life the wedding ceremony of our dreams. We got married in a photography loft and wanted to create an ambiance to the "altar" area and along the aisle. We shared our ideas with Cindy and told her the way we pictured our wedding, and she pulled our vision together while working with our budget. She had great suggestions and ideas, and she truly listed to what we wanted. She never lost patience with us when we decided to change our original options, and she was flexible when we had to move the ceremony from outside to inside the week of the event. She set everything up for us and came at the end of our reception to pick up... in short, she was amazing. Cindy and Jen were FABULOUS to work with. They provided everything and more for my wedding day and I couldn't have been any more satisfied or happy. Cindy and Jen had so many wonderful ideas for decorations and provided me with many viable options and answered all of my questions. They are both very friendly and accommodating!! They both helped me incorporate my theme colors so they complimented each other very well. Everything was quality material so my event looked ravishing, and so, so, so gorgeous-- vivid, sharp, bold, and everything else from all spectrum. Many of my guests were floored when they saw everything come together. I would definitely recommend them for any event you need. Thank you again for making our big day such a memorable one!
