    I had my wedding there 10/14/17
    and I could not of been happier with The Springfield House. The price was right, the venue was beautiful and everyone had a good time.

    The Springfield House in Springfield Ohio is the most beautiful venue for a wedding. Our daughter and her husband were married there on July 29, 2012. As a matter of fact, we just arrived home from the ceremony and the reception. I didn't want to wait one minute to write this reviem. We had the ceremomy and the reception there and the scheduling and attentiveness were exceptional. Ross and Clay and the rest of the staff could not have been more helpful and delightful. We had the most amazing time and the facility is just gorgeous. Everyone who attended was blown away by the beauty and efficiency of the entire affair. Many, many guests told us that our wedding was the best they had ever attended and we thank The Springfield House for a large part of that. The owner was accomodating with every aspect of our event. From the set up of the wedding outside to the delicious food and the friendliness of everyone working, we are so satisfied. The food was delicious and the servings were plentiful and well served. I loved every second of working with Ross in the planning and selection of choices. As far as I am concerned, The Springfield House is the best location and the only choice we would make in Springfield. Kudos to a Ross and Clay and the other staff who made our evening so special, We are so greatful. I will tell everyone that I know!!!

    We were recently married at The Springfield House and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. We utilized the venue for our ceremony and reception, which worked perfect. The staff, catering, and venue were ideal. All of our guests enjoyed including everything!

    The Springfield House is under new management! Steve is so amazing to work with. He is flexible and really wants the perfect day for me. I am so excited to get married here!

    The wedding venue is absolutely stunning! The food was delicious and the people are so friendly and helpful!

    The venue itself is beautiful, but the staff made it a less than perfect scenario. They are unfortunately difficult to work with. It would take days to weeks for them to return a phone call which made for a very stressful planning experience.
    The food, however, was awesome.
    So overall, it made for pretty pictures & we ate well! But the staff was unprofessional and definitely did not value the customer above themselves.

    I had my wedding at the Springfield House on 5/30/15. Positives: the venue is beautiful and was set up very nicely. The day itself went off with no major problems. It's the behind the scenes things that were and still remain to be a large problem.

    My husband and I met with Ross when we were looking for a venue and were very pleased with the meeting we had and the look of the venue. So we decided to book. We got the contract and deposit to Ross quickly. A couple months later, I emailed him to set up a meeting to discuss specifics of the day and have a food tasting. When we arrived for that meeting, Ross introduced himself and said "What can I help you with?" as if he had no idea who we were or why we were there. When I reminded him of our meeting he said we would have to set up yet another meeting for the food tasting and that day we would just be deciding on possible menu choices. The next meeting went well and we were very pleased with all of the food choices and how they tasted.

    The next face to face encounter we had with the venue was the day of the rehearsal dinner (Friday). We were allowed into the facility that day to set up, which was great, however when we got to the facility to do so around 2PM, there were quite a few things incorrect. We had ordered and paid for colored cloths to go over the tables. Those were not there and half of the tables were already set with all dinnerware. When asked about the cloths, Ross told us that the company who they were purchased from were supposed to bring them on Wednesday and never showed, then said they would be there Thursday and never showed, then said they would be there Friday by 10AM and still were not there. This could have been a problem with the other company but Ross simply said he had not heard from them that day. About 45 minutes later the cloths appeared.

    DO NOT use The Springfield House!! My daughter recently had her wedding reception here. They do not return phone calls or emails and they were late for appointments. Although the place was clean they are very disorganized and were understaffed.

    The dinner was awful. During the consultation we were told that the hot horderves would be served by two wait staff members while cold horderves would be on a buffet. Everything was on a table and items that should have been served warm were not.
    We were also told the salad would be plated. Instead the salad had to fit on the VERY small dinner plate with the entree. They were provided a head count and with 8 people not attending they still ran out of food. We had to ask for glassware for the toast and serving plates for the cake. They were slow in cleaning the tables.

    Very poor service.

    Don't expect your deposit in a timely manner!!
    30 days turned into 60+ days after numerous calls and follow up!!

    I am very disappointed I wanted to have my wedding this year at this beautiful venue. I met with the individual last year, whom was late, he told my mother and I that we could have our own caterer instead of doing their catering. So once I found out the date I wanted was available I was going to make a deposit even knowing this facility is managed by someone who has 5 lawsuits/legal issues we were then told that we HAVE to use their catering. Even his response was unprofessional he just interrupted my mother and said "uhh uhh" as in no. I assume this is because he only makes the most profit off their catering. He then proceeded to tell my mother and I it must have been a communication problem. No. I'm very disappointed to say I can't set my date yet and will have to travel further to find someone more willing to provide us service.

    My son and his wife had their wedding hosted by them. The place they had(the springfield house) was not prepared for the wedding, rooms were locked, and no place to get ready. They did try to help and were very nice, but it was still lacking and frustrating. We move to Simon Kenton to finish the rehersal and were put outside, cold and dark. The food at the reception was tough. We had a wonderful wedding dispite this and there shortcomings and it was not worth the money for the hassle that we recieved. This was the last wedding between the two companies and I feel they took their problems out on us. We deserve a refund at the very least and an apology. It should have been taken care of before we arrived difference or not. We should not have even known there was a problem with the two companies. A couple wanting to have a great event didnt need this. With limited budget they were expecting a little more professionalism. Your a big company, they deserve there money back. Mother of the Groom

    Do not use this venue! It is family owned and none of them have any customer service skills. They do not respond to emails, they do not return phone calls, they do not show up for scheduled appointments, and they are so rude. I cannot stress enough how terrible this venue is.

    Ross, at the Springfield House is very difficult to work with. He is new to the business and does not have a clear understanding of how to run things smoothly. He waits to the last minute to arrange details and then his staff is unsure of how he meant for something to happen. The facility is nice and the grounds are well maintained. The quality of service is very undesirable by increasing your stress instead of putting you at ease. Good luck to you!
