Let me tell you a fun story… My wife’s favorite instrument is the harp and I decided to surprise her with solo harp music during the dinner portion of our wedding reception at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA on October 12, 2019. I could not have asked for a more willing and talented partner in this escapade than Susan Haas. Since the Edgewater ballroom was the site of both our wedding ceremony and the dinner reception – with an intervening cocktail hour on the adjoining terrace – Susan arranged to secretly sneak into the ballroom for her setup and preparation during the cocktail hour. No one knew!

Much to my wife’s chagrin of not wanting to make a grand entrance, I was able to convince her we should enter the ballroom last, after all guests were seated for dinner. When we did so, we made our way to the dance floor where my wife was greeted by Susan and her beautiful harp and one of my wife’s favorite songs. It was a total surprise and a perfect moment, among many that day!

Susan’s stand-alone sound system and her extensive playlist made for a phenomenal evening and we could not be more grateful for her flawless performance. We collaborated on every song choice to ensure my wife heard one favorite after another, ending with an incredible medley from her favorite movie: The Sound of Music.

Whatever your needs, I promise you will be glad you selected Susan for her gracious and helpful personality, and especially her music.

Wonderful Harpist, Easy-going, Can Play Anything

Susan can play most any music you would want for your special day or event! She played as we walked down the aisle and it was absolutely perfect! She was very professional and made it super easy for us on a hectic day! Thank you again Susan. We will be booking you for our next events!

Susan is amazing! It's been about 2 years and a half since my wedding and now that a lot of my friends are getting married they ask me about how Susan was. I remember very clearly how very kind she was on Skype and in person on the day of the wedding. I would have to say that the most memorable thing about Susan was how accommodating and reliable she was. I remember all the groomsman and bridesman walking down the aisle at a steady pace and here I was with my dad..walking EXTRA slow. like snail slow. I swear the song I picked to walk down would've ended waaaay before I even got to the altar, but Susan knew exactly how to make the song longer without making it sound awkward or anything. When I did pick up the pace and finally get to the altar, she ended the song normally as it would have if I had walked down normally. My husband was a violinist in a lot of orchestras so he is very critical of any musician, but I remember that he explained to me that Susan had extended the song at a perfect spot so that it sounded very natural and pretty during the walk. If you're looking for a harpist, I would honestly look no further. =]

We held a wine tasting/summer social event for the Puget Sound chapter of the SMTA in Woodinville at a small local winery’s tasting room. Susan was contracted to play during our two hour soiree, selected from several harpists in the Greater Seattle area based on the sample recordings on their websites. It was quite clear she had the broadest repertoire and most professional sound of all those we had “auditioned”. The price, although not the least expensive, was well worth every penny.

Susan arrived early (quite the feat for ANY musician, especially in Seattle traffic!) and very quickly assessed the best location in the venue for her location. She moved her equipment (including special lighting) in seemingly effortlessly and was set up well ahead of “show time”.

Susan’s personality is as bright and pleasant as her performance! She took time to explain the complexities of her instrument to those who had asked questions and played a very broad spectrum of music ranging from “classics” to classic rock, even a little “heavy metal”! Of course, she played a few requests , including the ever popular “Freebird” and “Stairway to Heaven” !

Not surprisingly, the rich colorful tones of the harp set a soft yet festive mood which paired nicely with the wine selections! It was the perfect choice for both a background which conversation could be had without straining, as well as a very enriched listening experience which I credit to Susan’s incredible talent.

We anticipate holding future social events with our organization, and would unquestionably request Susan as our “entertainer of choice”. I encourage you to do so, as well!

Susan, of "The Solo Harp", is fantastic! She is greatly talented and the ultimate professional at all times. My husband and I hired her to play for our Renewal of Vows Ceremony and the music was so beautiful. We loved it and all of our guests raved about her talent.
Susan can play everything from Bach to Led Zeppelin, which you don't find with most harpists. She will learn new songs for your event if she doesn't already have it in her vast repertoire. She will help you choose music, if you want her assistance, but she will never push a particular genre on her clients - the choices are totally yours.

I have known Susan for a number of years because I was a Wedding Planner and now I am a Wedding Officiant. I have been privileged to hear her play at many weddings and there has always been nothing but praise for her music.

When we needed to hire a harpist, after being exposed to many others, she was the only harpist we even considered and we highly recommend her to everyone. You will not be disappointed!

Susan did an excellent job at an event we hosted at LeMay, America's Car Museum, in August 2015. She was extremely easy to do business with, charged fair pricing, and was worth every penny we spent. She played a variety of music genres beautifully. Our event was for Independent Auto Dealers, and they were intently listening and in some cases even taking video! We had fantastic feedback from our guests after the fact, several specifically complimented our harpist. Yes, Auto dealers! We will definitely use Susan Has Harpists' services again.

I had both Susan and Nicole played at my wedding. The best decision I've made. All of our friends and family complimented how amazing the duo are! I worked with Susan and she can't make it more simple. She is quick to respond to your emails, easy to work with and amazingly delightful to talk to. I feel so bad for asking so many questions, and probably have asked a few questions more than one time, but each time, I get the same friendly, professional responses. I am SO happy we found Susan! It was the harp music I always dreamed about when picturing my perfect wedding. She worked with our DJ, She helped decide on some of the processional, and prelude music, and our guests really enjoyed the feel of her music too.

Her Rate: $400 + $25 for outdoors + 50 cents per mile over a 40 mile RT

Susan was such a pleasure and joy to work with, we decided to have live music for our ceremony last minute. She was responsive , informative and flexible! we scheduled a timely meeting and she was very prepared and professional. The meeting was effective and personalized. Susan did a phenomenal job creating the perfect atmosphere at my ceremony.

Susan Haas stands alone as the premier harpist for wedding events. Our wedding had 200 guests and was held in a large church with reception following. Susan's lilting chords swelled and diminished in just the right ranges and timing. Susan filled the area with splendid harp music while quieting guests with an amazing repertoire of upbeat and classical compositions. Susan did exactly as she and I had discussed. She is a great communicator as well, asking me for feedback as we planned the affair and adjusting her music accordingly. You will never be disappointed with Susan Haas and you will be delighted as people tell you how much they enjoyed her music. I know that I will look for every opportunity to work with her again.

We hired Susan for our wedding ceremony. She did a fantastic job! We met Susan at a wedding event and talked with her for quite a while. She was very professional, warm and friendly. Since she had her harp with her she played quite a few requests for us. We decided to hire her right away. After hiring her, Susan met with us for a long meeting to not only discuss which songs we wanted her to play but she also helped us plan our entire wedding ceremony since the church we used didn't have a wedding coordinator. Susan's music is beautiful and she has a large playlist to choose from. She also learned more than one new song just for us. My favorite part was when she played "Someday My Prince Will Come" as the flower girls walked down the aisle. I also have adorable pictures of her letting my flower girls play her harp before the wedding. We highly recommend Susan!

Susan provided beautiful music for our wedding ceremony. Working with her was an absolute delight. She met with me personally and went over music that we liked and let us personalize all the music for our wedding ceremony. We wanted a specific song for our wedding recessional that she had not played on the harp before. She took the time to listen to the song and adapt it to be able to play on the harp and it was absolutely perfect! Her music was elegant and classy, exactly as we wanted our ceremony to be! My Husband and I got married a little over 2 weeks ago; I adore the harp, so our wedding coordinator recommended Susan. Her studio is a little bit of a trek from Seattle, but it was well worth the trip to hear her play in person – beautiful! She is so talented! We booked her harp and cello duo for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and were absolutely thrilled with them. My husband and I share a love of video games, so in addition to the typical wedding fare we asked them to adapt a song from Final Fantasy for the ceremony - they did a fantastic job, and it really helped us add our own personal touch. The duo apparently played songs from several other video games during cocktail hour as well (I was away and unfortunately didn’t hear myself, but a number of guests were quite impressed and mentioned it later).

Tl;dr they were an absolute joy to work with, a hit with our guests, and I would recommend them to anyone!

For the record, my husband and I have never heard music played by a harp before. Originally, we wanted a pianist at our wedding but after looking at the cost of service for a pianist it was just not in our wedding budget. We had Google other options for ceremony music and fell upon the idea of a harpist. We then searched the top harpists in our area and along came Susan W. Haas. Let me tell you, Susan is incredibly talented. Going in blind, we did not know what to expect from a harpist but she easily made us a fan. We were impress from the consultation till the very end of our ceremony. Susan does an amazing job feeling out what type of music would best fit the mood you want for your wedding and she executes it beautifully. All the guest at our wedding were impressed as well and applauded on how classy yet romantic the ceremony music was. My husband and I highly recommend Susan because every wedding deserve beautiful music for such a beautiful occasion!

My wedding was at an outdoor venue, on August 24th, in the Seattle area. I found Susan through a recommendation from a friend and honestly say that Susan was a pleasure to work with on all levels! I was a very demanding bride, not to mention the fact that I lived across country. Susan worked with me to make sure that everything concerning her service at my ceremony and cocktail hour was perfect so that I was confident and relaxed. She arranged everything with me via Skype. She recorded my requested songs so that I could download them and use them at my rehursal. She played songs that were not on her playlist and worked with me on the speed of the song until I felt it was perfect. She followed up with me several times and was expretemy punctual, which is dully apprecaited! She was a true professional on the day of the wedding and a very talented performer... everyone loved the music and i received tons of compliments for choosing a harpist for my ceremony/cocktail hour entertainment. I am so thankful that we found Susan Haas! She truly made our wedding day magical. Every aspect of working with her was an absolute pleasure. She worked hard to help us customize the music that we wanted during our Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Patrick's in Tacoma, WA. She even collaborated with her cellist to play new songs that she hadn't played before. There is nothing sweeter than walking down the aisle to beautiful music. Susan Haas is AMAZING!! I could not have found a better harpist for my wedding. She always responded to my emails right away, and was so detailed and helpful with her music and what should be played when. When I saw she had a few Disney songs on her website I almost had a heart attack. I am a big Disney fan. When my guests were being seated and waiting for the ceremony to start Susan played Disney love songs. It couldn't have been any better. One song that I requested was "I want to grow old with you" The song Adam Sandler sings to Drew Barrymore on the plane in the Wedding singer. She didn't know how to play it, but she learned it just so I could have that song for my now husband and I to walk away to. I highly recommend Susan Haas. She will definitely make sure the music is perfect for your wedding.

Susan was great to work with. She was very flexible and helpful in choosing our ceremony music. She knows a wide variety of songs and is very willing to learn a new song to make your day special. We also hired her to play music for our cocktail hour. We told her what types of music we liked and several artists and we were delighted with what she came up with to play during that hour. We were not able to meet up in person before the day of the event because of our schedules, but we met over Skype several times, which actually worked out quite well. Susan was able to play her harp so that we could hear exactly what we would be getting. Susans pricing was very reasonable and I would definitely hire her again and I recommend her to all my friends.

Susan performed all the music for our ceremony and she was fantastic! We ended up having an issue with the shuttle we booked and so a bunch of our guests showed up about thirty minutes late. Susan kept playing beautiful music all the way up until I walked down the aisle. I'm so glad we chose live music for our ceremony! Susan was incredibly professional and had a ton of music to chose from. She even learned a new song for our recessional. She's super fun to work with and always gets back to you whether its via phone or email.

As mother of the bride, i sought out and provided the music for my daughter's
wedding ceremony...working with my daughter and her fiance for the right mix of tunes. After several days of seeking out the perfect harpist for the big day, i was finally led and highly recommended to Susan Haas by another established N.W. harpist. All i can say is Wow! Wow! Wow! In every aspect Susan ranked highest in my book, and what a beautiful "spritzy" (joyful) style she has! She truly made the ceremony, with our chosen processionals/recessional and seating music (which she already had in her vast repertoire), and happily added a contemporary Christian song by Third Day called "All The Heavens" for the Unity candle ceremony after the vows (which she learned and oh-so-beautifully performed)...made me tear up! Not to mention the last minute added theme song
from Beauty and the Beast to add sentimentality (as the couple met on stage during the performance of)...for the last seating of family and the groom. Susan truly has a God given gift and talent and it shows. I look forward to recommending her to others in the years to come for any and all occasions! Here's to you my new friend! Susan and Nicole provided the harp/cello music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Susan was amazing to work with....extremely flexible, communicative - and wow, what a talented musician. Susan helped to create a custom and memorable set of music which matched perfectly to the feeling and vision of the wedding.

As a musician myself and with ear for great music, Susan did an absolutely fabolous job! I had no worry about things going hay-wire. She was very acommadating of any selection of music requested, and offered her professional help when she thought things could be better done in certain ways, always honoring your request, style, and vision. Great job and not overly pricey as many wedding details seem to be!

Susan was amazing! The best decision we made for our wedding was to include her. She was helpful in choosing a playlist and was extremely flexible on our special music. She was very fun & easy to talk with as well as professional. Susan learned new songs for our ceremony & even played the theme song for Indiana Jones! AND star wars! The rest of the time she played beautiful love ballads from through out the years & some incredibly beautiful classical music. We LOVED having Susan as a part of our wedding!

First off, let me talk about Susan as a person. Susan was amazing to work with. When other harpists had turned us down due to the nature of our music requests, Susan was there to save the day. She was super personable with my future bride and I. From the beginning planning phase of the wedding to the end of the ceremony she was upbeat and wonderful.

We had custom videogame music that she was able to learn quickly and beautifully. She helped us figure out everything we needed and was always available on the phone. She was very flexible in all areas and made everything just work. We had compliments the entire wedding about how much they liked the music she played. She knew exactly what we wanted to hear based on the song suggestions we gave her to build off of.

Not to mention how beautiful she sounds at the helm of her pedal harp!

If you want a kind, helpful person to handle the music at your ceremony or cocktail hour, my wife and I cannot recommend Susan W. Haas more. Worth every penny. =D

Susan did the harp music for not only my ceremony, but also for our cocktail hour, and she was incredible! She was willing to learn some music that she didn't already know, including the Iron & Wine version of "Such Great Heights." Due to some family health problems, I wasn't able to actually meet with her until the day of the ceremony but she was very understanding and willing to help out. She not only gave me some recommendations for other types of vendors (including DJs and officiants), she also sent me some sample clips of her playing the songs that I had requested for the wedding so I could hear them beforehand. After the ceremony and during the cocktail hour, everyone I talked to ranted and raved about what a nice touch it was to have a harpist and how beautifully it tied everything together. She even started playing "guess that tune" games with some of my guests! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding and I attribute much of that to Susan's playing. If you are thinking of having a harpist play at your wedding, go with Susan Haas. Her playing is worth every penny and really sets the mood for the whole day.

Susan was great - I contacted her less than 2 weeks before our ceremony after our initial ceremony music plans fell through. She worked with us and was willing to learn new songs in that short period of time, and gave her honest opinion about what she thought would sound good on a harp, and what my fall flat. She was so reassuring that I wasn't even nervous about the fact that we didn't meet in person. I had multiple comments on how beautiful the music was, and she was reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend her if you want some beautiful harp music at your ceremony - we got married outdoors and the music was absolutely beautiful!

This may sound cliché to most but our wedding was truly a magical experience.

From the initial planning to the final execution, everything flowed seamlessly.
Consequently, all of the vendors for our wedding were deemed the best in their field. Susan is one of them that far EXCEEDED our expectations.
Like all engaged couples, we began researching and interviewing people for certain parts in our special day. Six months prior to the wedding, we found Susan and she invited us into her beautiful home to perform a heartwarming and sensational preview into the future of our wedding day event.

Susan is truly a warm and caring person.
We sincerely felt like she was part of our family.
Initially, we were stunned by her expressed sincere interest in the success of our wedding day. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Susan would call to confirm with us about the wedding schedule and also meet with us and our wedding planner for the pre-wedding final preparations.

The wedding day was flawless. Her music was beautiful as the wind carried her notes throughout the Cascade Mountains. My friends and family complemented us many times during and after the wedding with regard to Susan’s dazzling performance and ability to relocate her impressive Harp on top of a mountain.

We can offer no higher praise than to say that Susan truly is an artist whom is a pleasure to work with and comes highly recommended for her professionalism.

Susan was absolutely wonderful to work with. Sometimes I throught she was psychic because she understood what I was looking for in terms of the musical selection as well as I did. She added so much to our wedding, both in music and with her presence which may seem strange to add, but my two guests at my wedding even commented at how beautiful both she and her harp were in addition to how beautiful the music she played was.

Susan W. Haas was such a pleasure to work with. I found some samples of her work online and sent her an e-mail to inquire about her services. Susan responded the same day and offered very reasonable pricing. What I appreciate the most is how she took my very few ideas into account and compiled a list of possible songs that were exactly what I was looking for. Also, during the grand exit she, by a fluke, played my favorite song as we were exiting with family (These are few of my favorite things). It was such an unexpected touch that put a smile on my face.

Susan was so helpful with song choices for the ceremony & reception. She provided a wide variety of music to choose from and willingly provided samples of what the song sounded like. When I first contacted Susan, she responded quickly and we prepared a list of songs that I was interested on using for my ceremony. When we had our first meeting, she played samples of the songs in a relaxed environment and she was very thorough on the list of songs we were going to use and when. She was professional as well as sweet and we can tell she was all about making our wedding day a special and what we wanted. She was very flexible and responsive to our questions throughout the months she was working with us. She was also willing to meet us on our rehearsal day so that she can take notes to make everything perfect. She made our wedding ceremony not only memorable to us, but also to our guest. Susan was an amazing find when I stumbled accross her ad on craigslist for a live harpist. One mention of the idea to my future wife of having a live harpist at the wedding and she was sold. When first speaking with Susan on the phone she was very professional and willing to work with our busy schedule. We eventually found time to meet up with susan for a consultation and were blown away. Not only by her excellent playing, but her ability to help and guide us in a musical selection that best reflected our own personal tastes. When the day finally came Susan was there enduring the 90+ degree heat to help make our perfect day perfect. Definatly one of our best wedding investments.

Beautiful wedding music

We hired Susan to play for our wedding ceremony back in October, which included prelude, entrances, exits, and 10 min post ceremony.

She was nothing but wonderful!! She had a wide range of music to choose from. Her communication was above and beyond. She was on-time and the music was absolutely beautiful!

Susan is really awesome! She plays the harp beautifully. We wanted a unique sound for our wedding, so we chose to go with the harp/solo duo. It was a beautiful day, and the music made it even more beautiful. We hired Susan and Nichole for the ceremony and cocktail hour music. The sound of the harp and cello was so soothing and beautiful!

Susan was very professional and responsive. She is really good at learning what you want and takes that into effect. With all the stress of a wedding, it was great just relying on someone whom you know will do the job well, and you don't have to be worrying about it. Trust me, there are enough things to stress about already during your wedding day. Susan answered all my questions and provided all the information I needed. She was definitely one of the best vendors that we worked with.

The consultation was also a great time learning about each other. Susan was great accommodating our special requests, and I can't even express how awesome it was listening to our special songs live during our wedding day! I wish I could relive that day!

We were looking for an ethereal and romantic sound to accompany our daughter's wedding ceremony and found Susan through an internet search. She has a beautiful site where you can listen to select pieces of music. She is thoroughly professional in addition to being very talented. Apart from her beautiful talent with the harp, we particularly appreciated how seamless she is in making transitions from one piece to another (Beatles to Pachelbel) and how in attuned she is to the timing and ambiance of the ceremony.
