We eloped recently in San Diego, and searched for about a month looking for the right officiant to make our special day go as smoothly as possible. We came across Chad's information on WeddingWire and instantly reached out to see if he was available for the date we had in mind.

Chad was an INCREDIBLE officiant and one of the best parts of our wedding day! After weddings my husband and I had been to in the past, one thing we didn't want in an officiant was someone who spoke like they were reading off of a powerpoint and didn't know us at all. Chad took the time to learn about us as a couple, gave us homework, and shared our story in a beautiful way. He was not only professional, but also funny and an amazing public speaker. Our wedding guests came up to us all night long to tell us just how amazing they thought Chad was. Pastor Chad officiated our wedding in October in Del Mar, and he was simply amazing! From the moment we reached out to him, he was organized, personalized and very attentive to ensure that we had a beautiful, intimate, personal ceremony. He was intentional in getting to know us as individuals and as a couple, and tailored our ceremony so that it was a unique and special celebration for us and our family. He also has a great sense of humor, and provided subtle comments which made us laugh and put us at ease. He and his team also helped us navigate the licensing process to ensure we had all of documentation ready and submitted.

Chad officiated our wedding in September, 2024 and it was one of the best Wedding decisions we made! From the start, him and his team were very responsive and I knew that we could depend on him day of. The ceremony script he wrote was truly everything we could have asked for and more. Best Officiant we Could Have ever Booked!
Our Officiant we booked, Chad Richard’s, was amazing! We had over 20 of our guests ask us how long we’ve known him because they thought we had been friends for years when in reality, we had only 2 FaceTime calls with him over a span of a year and a half. He was so comforting and calm and wrote the sweetest things about us for our ceremony. He was also willing to work with us after we forgot our marriage license and still managed to get everything filed for us. 11/10 would recommend if you want your ceremony to go perfectly.

We had the pleasure of working with Chad to create our perfect wedding ceremony. We wanted a non-denominational ceremony that paid homage to each of our family's religions and unique wedding traditions. Chad worked with us to build a ceremony that felt balanced and wholesome for both of our families, without being overly religious in general (which was important to us). On the wedding day, Chad was overall very professional and courteous, and he brought an energy that helped us relax and enjoy the moment. The result was an incredibly powerful ceremony that our guests are still talking about! Chad was an incredible officiant!
We met with him a few months before the wedding to get to know us so he could make a bespoke ceremony just for us. We are not religious but he gave us options to add more or less religious narratives.
He added much needed humour to our ceremony as I was crying non-stop.
He told great stories and lessons and really made the ceremony special. He made everyone feel part of the ceremony.
We had multiple guests say how impressed they were with Chad.

This Pastor is the Master!
Chad was amazing since our first meeting! We interviewed several officiants and he was by far the most impressive. I was hesitant about the optional pre-marital counseling portion but took the advice from my parents and in laws and decided to go for it. Chad’s ability to make my wife and I extremely comfortable and open about discussing the important parts of a marriage was really appreciated. I think he truly helped give us the tools to start a successful, happy marriage. At the ceremony, he knocked it out of the park. He did a great job catering the ceremony to our personalities. I can’t recommend his services enough!

Perfect ceremony!
Thank you Chad so much for an incredible ceremony! Chad was recommended through my wedding planner, and it was easy right from the beginning. Chad is very professional, organized, and communicative which helped so much in laying down the foundation for the ceremony. It was one part of the planning process that did not cause additional stress at all. We did a call early in the process and he very much understood our vision and goals for the wedding.
I was so happy to see him on wedding day, he made the process more fun. Our wedding was last week, Friday 8/26/22, and it was beautiful thanks to Chad! The service felt so personal and special. Wow! Chad was truly the perfect match for our wedding ceremony! First and foremost have to say he is incredibly personable and my husband and I were so excited after we had our initial meeting. He took time to ask us about our religious journey. We were honest and told him our story and he did so well to accommodate us. My husband and I are not extremely religious by any means; however, we welcomed the presence of god in our ceremony. Chad really listens! And made our ceremony the perfect balance. I must also say that Chad valued our story. My husband and I dated for eleven years before sealing the deal and we wanted to make sure that our history was presented in our ceremony! As I was planning, I was having a hard time choosing and officiant. I didn't want our ceremony to be drawn out and boring. Chad is amazing. My wife and I connected with him so quickly and he is super laid back and easy to get along with. We ended up even having Chad do our premarital counseling and it was TOTALLY worth the money. I would highly recommend using Chad for your wedding. We also did counseling with him too so we got to spend a lot of time together so it felt like our ceremony was even more special and personal. After the ceremony friends and family came up asking us who the officiant was and how we knew Chad because we all seemed like we were friends for a long time. Chad is simply amazing!!! We booked Chad before the pandemic and had to reschedule multipel times in the past 2 years. Chad was not only responsive, but also so patient and organized and made everything extremely easy to plan and coordinate!
He provided us a great questionnaire, making sure that our personal stories, perspectives could be incorporated into the ceremony. And definitely made the ceremony 100% our own, by having a perfect length, vibe, with a great amount of humor, romance and emotion! Many of our family and friends asked about him thinking that he is a close friends of us, and i think that is the evidence of what great of a job he did!

Simply the BEST!
We cannot say enough good things about Chad! We zoomed prior to the pandemic and instantly felt he was a good fit for our wedding. When we had to postpone, Chad was very flexible in being able to accommodate our new date. He had a great mixture of humor, wisdom, and sentiment throughout the ceremony. When the ceremony was over, multiple guests asked if he was a friend from my husband's past as his speech was so personal. Chad is the most down to earth, friendliest man that could officiant your wedding. We would highly recommend him!

Chad was the best!
We loved Chad! We really were nervous about who to hire for our wedding, since this is the person that sets the tone for everything. We didn't want a stranger marrying us. Our awesome wedding planner helped recommend Chad to us, and after our zoom call we knew that we were going to hire him. He was so easy to talk to and felt like a friend right away. He conducted a wonderful ceremony and was available for questions and help since we decided to write our own vows which was very helpful to us both. Our guests laughed and cried (so did we) and that's what we wanted. If you need a wedding officiant this is the guy!

Choose Pastor Chad for the Perfect Cermony!
Working with Pastor Chad was awesome from start to finish. Because of Covid we first met over Zoom, which is not always the best way to connect, however we immediately felt comfortable with Chad. He listened to us, took the time to get to know us and respected our vision for our ceremony. It took us about 30 seconds after our first call to agree we wanted to work with him! He was flexible even in the world of Covid, affordable, responsive and put together an awesome ceremony. It was really cool that he added personal elements (he asked us to share what we loved about each other with him beforehand and he did an awesome job of incorporating our words into the ceremony and also incorporated a reading by one of our sisters), told our story, and did a great job of balancing humor, love, faith, and family into our ceremony. Pastor Chad did a perfect job and we could not have asked for a more special wedding ceremony that truly felt like ours. We highly recommend Pastor Chad for your wedding ceremony- large or small! He's great!

The best officiant
Look no further.... Chad is the best officiant out there!! My sister-in-law had him officiate her wedding and afterwards we knew we wanted him to officiate ours! Everyone at our wedding thought we had known him for years! His energy is so pure. He told our story perfectly, gave great marriage advice and made people laugh while being very meaningful. Being a pastor, he incorporated God into our ceremony, as that is what we wanted but he will cater to all whether you are religious or not. We are so happy with our ceremony and you won't regret hiring him for your wedding!

Personalized fun ceremony
We found Chad pretty last minute after our original officiant flaked out. We liked the idea of a personalized ceremony, but the thought and pressure of writing and remembering our own vows was out of the question. Thankfully Chad personalized the ceremony itself, telling your story. I’m not sure how unique that is, but the energy and humor that Chad brings to it are definitely special. We heard back from so many guests that the ceremony struck the right balance of funny and sweet. That is just what the guests see, what they don’t see is Chad working magic in the background. While the guests were arriving I overheard Chad asking the string quartet if they could come in with music as he started telling our story. They did and it came together flawlessly. It wasn’t rehearsed, it was 100 percent Chad. There are not enough stars for me to convey how good he is. If you want a special fun ceremony, Chad is your guy.

The perfect wedding officiant
Chad was absolutely amazing, my wife and I could not have asked for a better wedding officiant. Chad was efficient, on time, and all of our guests loved the way he handled the ceremony. The way he presented was lively, genuine, professional, and had a bit of greatly appreciated humor sprinkled in. To top it off, he even noticed my fresh fade that I had done just for the wedding. Made our ceremony very special!
Chad worked with us to perform our elopement ceremony in San Diego this month. I usually don't write reviews but he was so excellent I can't pass on the opportunity too tell others.
- Ceremony was very personal. He customized it and made it uniquely ours without making it too complex.
- It was easy and stress free. We eloped because we didn't want to deal with the stress of the wedding. Chad made the process lighthearted and preparation for it enjoyable.
I would like to also highlight that he was very open and respectful of the fact that we wanted to include a Hebrew ring prayer and breaking of the glass in our ceremony.

Chad is absolutely amazing. He is so helpful and responsive leading up to your wedding date. He gets to know the both of you and makes the ceremony personal, meaningful, and funny. Chad was always quick to respond to any questions we had and super helpful figuring out the ceremony and vows. He makes the ceremony more sincere and lighthearted at the same time, some might say he's a magician. At the end of it all we were so glad we had decided to go with Chad he made our wedding complete.

Choosing an officiant was very important to us. We wanted to find someone who would be able to share our love story, but make it personable! Chad did exactly that. Chad is awesome! My now Husband and I met him at his office and then filled out Chad's detailed questionnaire. Chad did a great job and was so funny and personable. It was not a generic canned speech. So many people came up after the ceremony and were raving about how funny Chad was.
If you are looking for an officiant, we would definitely recommend Chad for your ceremony!

Pastor Chad is the BEST!!!! If you want a ceremony that feels modern, not cheesy (unless you want that), and one that everyone will actually enjoy, do not think twice about hiring him. DO IT!!! :)
Chad officiated our wedding ceremony in July and we could not have been happier!! We are STILL getting comments from our guests about how fantastic our ceremony was and had people asking us how we knew our officiant. We wanted a ceremony that felt fun, upbeat, and like "us" and he absolutely delivered on this. A little bit of comedy was super important to us so people stayed entertained, and guys, he is hilarious!
Chad completely caters the ceremony to you based on a fun questionnaire you and your partner fill out ahead of time. We loved all of the details he grabbed from what we had said about each other and the way he was able to shape those details into a cute and funny little love story.
Honestly, our ceremony was the best part of our wedding, and we even had llamas there, so it was stiff competition for him!

From our first meeting via FaceTime we knew Chad was our guy. For our ceremony we envisioned serious but funny, personal to us as a couple, and not too long but not too short... and he did it all perfectly! Chad's wedding homework makes him stand out among the rest. What you and your fiance put into the homework is what will shine through during your ceremony. Right after our ceremony we had our family and friends ask where we found him because they never heard or been to a ceremony like his. My husband and I hired Chad super last minute and we are so glad we did!
We planned the majority of our wedding from the east coast and had originally planed to have someone we knew officiate our wedding, but moving across the country and total wedding planning took over our lives and about a month before the wedding we still hadn't decided on who to marry us. That's when we found Chad. I spoke with him on the phone once prior to the ceremony and responded to a small questionnaire and when we met the day of our wedding it felt like we had known him for years. So many people came up to my husband and I during the reception to ask how we knew Chad and how much they loved the ceremony. To say they were shocked when we told them we met him 5 minutes before the ceremony would be an understatement. If you are in So Cal and looking for an officiant - look no further!

He had us fill out "wedding homework" which we were not to share with one another. During the ceremony, he told our story and also shared our completed homework with everyone ( why we were marring the person, what we loved most, etc). Chad added a bit of humor and fun to the ceremony as well- which we loved! In addition, he gave us some spot on marriage advice that I think all our guests really enjoyed as well. They are things I know we will both certainly never forget! Book Chad-he's awesome and most people thought he was a friend we had known for years. THANKS CHAD!

Actually think I got more compliments on Chad than on my dress :) Kidding, but he was truly amazing. We spent 6 months in marriage counseling with Chad and it was a service I would recommend to ANYONE looking to get married. It was so nice to know Chad before our ceremony.
The ceremony itself was a true highlight of our wedding. The guests were so engaged and it was romantic, funny, entertaining, and overall just so special. Chad has the perfect mix of pastor and friend, we even had him and his wife as wedding guests afterwards!

Chad is amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better officiant. He's professional but really makes your Ceremony about you and your spouse. It's customized and full of feels. Yet, he also keeps it in a timeframe you want. Short? He's got you. Want it a little longer? He'll make sure to incorporate everything you want.

Chad was awesome!!! He's nice, professional, and generally just has a nice vibe. Our wedding ceremony was wonderful, thanks to him. We did a mix of traditional and non-traditional elements. He infused our ceremony with humor and warmth, as if we had all been friends for years. Many of my guests commented to me afterwards that his remarks had left them in tears! Good work, Chad!!! Chad Richards was amazing. He married us in our backyard! We have six kids between the two of us and he helped us creatively involve them as we made our new family official. The way he expressed our story to our friends and family was so special, thoughtful, and humorous - better than we imagined it could be. He made himself very available to us as we planned and his pricing is more than reasonable for what he contributes to your big day. Whether you are going for a religious ceremony or nonreligious ceremony, I fully recommend Chad. His background as a pastor gives hims daily practice in the art of public speaking. This is not easily imitated and should not be forgotten when choosing your officiant. Leading up to the wedding was perfect. We spoke over email, text, and phone. Our conversations never felt rushed and were always very professional. Day of was above and beyond his call of duty. He arrived with more than adequate prep-time, delivered a great ceremony, and wrapped everything up perfectly for us. Chad was absolutely amazing. We did contact him with only about a month notice for the wedding but he was available and helped us every step of the way. We met with him and he was able to answer every question I had since I didn't know a whole lot about how weddings usually go. He also gives you the ability to customize how you want the ceremony to go! He definitely made the ceremony fun and added a little bit of humor to lighten the mood of the ceremony. I was definitely stressed as the bride but Chad kept the ceremony relaxed and I thank him for that. The ceremony was beautiful and it couldn't have been any better!!!!

Pastor Chad was fantastic! His message during the ceremony was personable, funny, and touching. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our decision to go with him. Don't be intimidated by the "homework" he gives you! It's very easy and makes the ceremony so much better than your typical boiler plate ceremony. He has a great vibe and is super easy to work with. Pastor Chad was beyond our expectations of an officiant. His message was the perfect length, sweet, and filled with so much personal information that you would feel like if he'd known us our entire life. My wife and I only sat with him once and immediately we knew he would be the perfect fit for our wedding. Even two weeks after our wedding our guests are still raving about the awesome message that Pastor Chad had during our ceremony. After our ceremony everyone asked us how we knew Chad, where we met him, etc... We told them we met him through a wedding website looking for officiants! People were so surprised we hadn't known Chad prior to hiring him to be our officiant. For the ceremony, Chad really did a great job telling our story and making it very personal. Chad was amazing! First off he showed up to our venue early which was great. He sat down with my groomsmen and just talked to them, got to know everyone. I liked that. As you know most weddings dont start on time and Chad was very patient with that as some key members trickled in a bit late. And he performed a great ceremony. Quick, fun and wonderful. Chad was absolutely amazing! Prior to the wedding, he gave us wedding homework to complete (order of events, vows etc). It also included great questions about us (how me met, how we start dating, engagement story, what qualities we love about each other etc). He incorporated our homework into the ceremony making it very personal. His personalization also helped make myself and the groom relax and enjoy the moment. We received so many compliments on the ceremony. I highly recommend him.

Chad was the best wedding officiant ever! We were nervous about having someone marry us that we found on yelp and had never met but Chad made the process so easy and seamless. He was willing to meet up with my husband and I to determine if he was a good fit for us where he went over his standard ceremony pointing out the parts that were customizable and would make it a personalized ceremony. He asked us questions about our story, and made a genuine effort to get to know us as a couple. We told him we wanted a happy light-hearted ceremony and wanted to include our 4 month old baby as well somehow. He suggested he wear our rings on a necklace and then my mom could hold him up like Simba when it was time for the rings! It was the cutest idea and so happy he suggested it.
The day of the ceremony, he came an hour early with a photographer that he recommended to make sure they were prepared to capture our special day the way we had pictured it in our heads.
Everyone had the best things to say about Chad, that it felt like he was a friend marrying us that had known us forever, just what we wanted
After the wedding, Chad sent us a copy of our personalized ceremony that we could keep forever- and shortly after edited photos that captured the day perfectly.
Chad really went above and beyond and I would highly recommend him as a wedding officiant.

Chad was more than we could have ever hoped an officiant would be! My wife and I constantly feared that we would have a "boring ceremony" because we had been to so many in the past, but that wasn't what we got with Chad! He personalized our ceremony and really got to know our story, which I believe is what sets him apart from the rest! He is organized and professional, which makes the process so easy as we were planning many other things before the wedding. He is naturally funny and is an entertainer, but also creates an environment that can be enjoyed by all.

We couldn’t be happier we chose Chad to perform our wedding ceremony. My finace and I had been engaged for a while, but hadn't dedided when or where to get married We were going to elope then changed our mind and had a small ceremony in front of family. Chad was able to accomodate us on short notice. In order to write our ceremony, Chad gave us a short worksheet to complete that asked questions like, “How did you two meet?”, and “What are the qualities you appreciate in your partner?” With those answers he wrote our personal story. The ceremony was simple, personal, touching and funny while still having all the traditional elements of a wedding ceremony. He incorporated just the right amount of spirituality for us. Chad has a big, clear voice so everyone could hear what he was saying. I hate when I go to a wedding and can’t hear what is being said! Afterwards, he emailed us the ceremony so we would have it as a keepsake. Everything was perfect. Overall, Chad is just a great person and that spirit comes through in what he does. If you would like a bright, savvy, stylish man to do your ceremony, Chad is the guy!

Chad was AMAZING! My husband and I wanted an officiant who would deliver a PERSONABLE ceremony. We have been to weddings that were a snooze, and we wanted our guests to be engaged in our ceremony. Upon our skype interview with Chad (we live in LA, but our wedding was in San Diego. He's so accommodating!) we fell in love with his vibe. It seemed like we've known him for a long time. He explained he likes to create a personal ceremony and incorporate our history. I thought that was a great way to let our guests know the backstory of how we met/got engaged. He also included some humor and kept my guests engaged. On our wedding day Chad was the best, Our DJ's microphone went out so Chad improvised and projected his voice with ease. I didn't even know and my guests didn't realize either. Overall he made my ceremony beautiful and my guests LOVED him. I would recommend him to anyone who wants the best ceremony EVER!

Chad was laid back and easy to work with while maintaining a charming professionalism. He requested information from both of us separately and incorporated stories from our relationship into his address which was incredibly personal and special. And our guests thought that he was a friend that we had known for years. He had the crowd laughing throughout the ceremony which was perfect because we wanted our ceremony to have a light and happy tone. The advice that he incorporates about marriage is something we will treasure always and we were pleasantly surprised and thrilled when he emailed us his ceremony notes a few weeks after the wedding. Chad was such a great person to marry us. He gave us homework so he could learn about mine and my husbands story. He learned the details and made the ceremony intimate and specific to us. He added a little humor and timed it so it wasn't too long or too short. He added a spiritual element. We wanted a balance between our story, humor, and spirituality which he accommodated beautifully.
Many of our guests said it was their favorite part of the wedding. They asked us if it was one of our friends because it seemed so intimate. I highly recommend Chad and am so grateful he could marry us:)

Chad did an incredible job officiating our wedding and we would absolutely recommend him! We were having a hard time finding a pastor to officiate as our church home at that time didn't do Sunday weddings. We decided to contact Chad after reading so many stellar reviews here on Wedding Wire and believe me, he did not disappoint us. After our first conversation with him over Skype, we felt very confident that he could deliver the type of ceremony we desired for our special day. Throughout all of our communication via email/text he was professional and accommodating. He showed up to our venue early and made sure he had plenty of time to get set up with our DJ and prepare for the ceremony. He even worked with our videographers to record a voice-over for our wedding video reading a special portion from our ceremony! Incredible Officiant
We are so glad we hired Pastor Chad to be our wedding officiant. We got to know Chad by doing pre-marital counseling sessions with him, which we have really enjoyed. His ceremony was exactly what we wanted—humorous, faithful, and reflective of our love. So many of our guests came up to us after the ceremony asking how we knew him, because they said it seemed like he knew us really well. We could not recommend him more!
