Beautiful venue,amazing and accommodating staff and Manager.It felt like a fairy tale. Had wedding under lovely gazebo .Nice dining room.We stayed in a Beautiful cottage , before and after our wedding .{ modernized vintage ).with lots of charm.. -

After going on a tour with Samantha at The Sanford House I quickly cancelled my upcoming tours of other venues. Samantha was a delight to work with, she answered all of my questions and was always quick to reply. We absolutely loved our dinner at our reception and how helpful all of the staff was. Everything was beautiful. -

Cassandra Sent on 01/04/2018Our wedding at The Sanford House took place in the Renoir Room. We had about 50 guests and I cannot say enough about how awesome it turned out! From the beginning, I knew that I wanted something without a lot of fuss. The staff was amazing. They were always friendly and helpful. Camille McDonald did an awesome job as the event coordinator. Anytime I had questions, she was always very responsive and provided exactly what I needed. The staff the night of the wedding was friendly and attentive to our needs. Since our wedding was right after Christmas, the whole venue was beautifully decorated with Christmas décor therefore; we were able to use their décor as a backdrop to our wedding décor. We booked the Bristol cottage to spend the wedding night as well as used it as a bridal suite prior to the wedding. It worked out very nicely because the Bristol cottage is adjacent to the Renoir Room. The Sanford House provided a list of preferred vendors that we were able to use. The vendors that we used from the list were for the cake and flowers. Both of these vendors were easy to work with as well. Everything turned out exactly the way we wanted it!! If you are looking for a small, intimate and romantic setting for your wedding without a lot of stress, The Sanford House is the venue of choice!

Ana Sent on 10/30/2017This was our dream outdoor venue with stunning string lights! Very friendly and attentive staff! They transformed the courtyard beautifully! We had our immediate family stay onsite for the weekend and the staff was very accommodating. Camille was such a pleasure to work with and made the planning less stressful for us! She helped coordinate our vendors and schedules. The entire weekend was magical and we were blown away by the customer service! We would highly recommend this venue and staff!! ~Mr. & Mrs. Maccioli

Gina Sent on 10/09/2016I can't say enough about this venue. The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we fell in love with how intimate and unique it is. They keep the grounds in such good shape you forget you are off a busy street in downtown Arlington. You feel like you are in a little secret garden in your own private retreat. The best part....you can stay there! We checked in Friday, woke up Saturday, got married that evening and checked out Sunday. An amazing weekend. Krista and Katherine were fantastic event coordinators and got every detail perfect. The entire staff was so attentive and helpful, it made the whole wedding stress free. Stay in the Villa Royale, use the jetted tub to relax and unwind, wake up late and enjoy an delicious brunch in the restaurant and feel grateful you found this amazing wedding venue. -

Michelle Sent on 04/23/2010My sisters and mother in law hosted a bridal luncheon the day of our wedding at the Sanford House. We had a few hiccups along hte way trying to get there, which delayed our brunch. This was not an issue for the staff who treated us graciously. The food was phenomenal and the staff was fabulous! I could not have been more satisfied to have that as a wedding day treat! We will go back for a brunch soon with our families as we enjoyed the atmosphere and food so much! -

Mallory Sent on 05/28/2012The venue is beautiful and I had a wonderful wedding. Some communication lacked about the hotel but overall it was a great venue. My cake was cracked in the back though and I was extremely upset about that. My husbands cake was not even the color we asked it to be so it made the decorations we had for it so strange looking. Get your cake somewhere else and pay the cutting fee! -

Kathryn Sent on 12/30/2009We hosted both our ceremony and reception at The Sanford House this December. Overall, our experience was good. While everything turned out beautifully, We ran into a few problems with the wedding planner, because we'd been promised a few things by the previous planner, and then the promises communicated to the new planner (this miscommunication was probably due to the switch in staff) It all turned out just fine, but the month before the wedding was pretty stressful. The food was great and the bar staff were a really great group of people (they kept the bar open late for us two nights in a row, and were really fun to chat with). The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating for such a large (and loud! group), but my in-laws very expensive cottage was without hot water for the entire weekend!! (The hotel comped their stay, but it was a big inconvenience). The bar manager was VERY helpful with our alcohol purchasing, and that the chef was very knowledgeable about ordering certain amounts of food. Overall, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a beautiful, intimate location for both your ceremony and your reception.
