Spending $$$ on a dress that you’ll wear one time wasn’t something that particularly interested me. After countless of hours of research for affordable bridal shops in Atlanta (dresses less than $2k - seems like most websites boasted that their affordable dresses start at $2k), I made appointment at 3 places, this being the first. While you can walk-in, I highly recommend making an appointment. You get dedicated time with a stylist and do not have to wait in line. Appointments are super easy to book online. My appointment was Saturday morning and I brought 2 friends with me. My stylist (I forget her name, sorry!) was super friendly and helpful. After describing what I thought I wanted and budget (less than 1k), she showed me around and explained how the price points varied. I believe I pulled 5 dresses to start. My friends really wanted me to try this princess gown that was not me but I decided to appease them. When the stylist saw that it was out of my price range, she recommended that I not try it on, which I appreciated. It just so happened that my dress was the first one I tried on. My stylist helped to show me how the dress could be styled by adding in a liner, adding a belt, and veil. It was my favorite and the price really couldn’t be beat (I walked out with a beautiful full lace dress for less than $600!). I ended up saying yes to the dress and cancelled my remaining 2 appointments. I highly recommend any budget conscious bride to consider this as their first stop. The variety, quality, service, and price can’t be beat. -

The Sample Shoppe was exactly the experience I was hoping for in trying on and finding a wedding dress. Aja was so helpful and made me feel immensely beautiful in my dress! Everything from trying on to helping me find alterations was so easy and the best process! 10/10 recommend! -

The Sample Shoppe had many options in the typical different styles. Emily was very knowledgeable and familiar with their inventory and are able to help me find additional dresses to try on as well. TSS was my first dress appointment of the day as I had other dress appointments lined up, but ended up getting my dress at TSS that morning and cancelling the others because I loved the dress I picked out so much! Would highly recommend this dress shop! -

I had a great shopping experience at The Sample Shoppe! I found my wedding dress in June 2021. I spent a lot of time researching bridal shops and while they had a glamorous experience, I loved how quaint and low pressure this shop is. Aja helped me decide between two dresses (one from another shop) with objective questions to make sure I was happy. Plus, my fiance and I are stoked that it came in right on budget! The racks make it very helpful when sticking to a price range. They also offer a program for cleaning dresses after purchase because they are samples. I highly recommend you checkout the Sample Shoppe for your wedding dress needs! -

Amazing experience shopping with the Sample Shoppe. Wonderful selection of dresses and sizes. The staff was patient with me as I tried on a number of different styles to figure out what type of look I was going for. The prices can’t be beat. I walked away with a dress that was originally $3k for $1,300 which included tax and cleaning. I used their recommended seamstress for alterations and also had a great and affordable experience. I love that they keep their website up-to-date on their inventory so you can go in and know what you can ask for if you don’t want to blindly shop. Highly recommend! -

Aja and the Sample Shoppe were absolutely wonderful. My friend and I went in just expecting to get a feel for some styles we might like and ended up leaving with dresses we loved and for unbeatable prices! Will definitely recommend the Sample Shop to friends and family. -

Make an appointment and find your dress! I had the best experience on Mother's Day with my momma and Aja, shop manager and my consultant. The first dress I put on fit like a glove, and the appointment only got better from there! I found my dream dress in under an hour. I spent ~3 hours at other bridal boutiques and found dresses that were okay but nothing like the gems I found at The Sample Shoppe. Aja pulled my gown from the back when she saw the styles I was loving, and the rest is history. She was also super helpful in estimating what alterations would cost, what was possible/impossible, and what to expect when the dresses were "done." She also outfitted me with lovely accessories to help me envision the big day. I highly recommend the Sample Shoppe to any bride! Adorable place with great gowns! -

The Sample Shoppe is an excellent place to go dress shopping! You might think this little boutique couldn't have much to offer but think again!
I had been concerned about finding the dress I wanted without paying a fortune. Well, I ended up with a silk, designer dress that was a 2015 so it was majorly reduced in price. The woman who works there, Asia, has been absolutely a pleasure to work with throughout this whole process. You can really tell she loves her job and is great at what she does! -

If you are looking for an amazing dress on a budget then come here! They give you the bridal experience and the staff is very friendly. I found my dress so easily and even though the dress was a sample, I couldn't see one flaw. -

I'm having a relatively quick quick engagement and after calling a few other non sample shops and being told that I had to book appointments 2-3 months out and pay $100 to browse I knew I had to find an alternative. I walked into the sample shop with my mom, they explained the process, I tried on a few dresses, found my dress and veil within 45 mins of being there. It's out for cleaning and they have a list of suggested alterations vendors that you can meet at the store off hours- super easy process and I'm very excited that this was such an easy part of all the planning! -

Going wedding dress shopping alone during COVID times is not exactly how I envisioned shopping for my wedding dress, BUT the manager of the Sample Shoppe was amazing and helped me find THE dress! It was something I never imagined myself in, but it fit like a glove and I couldn't pass it up! Not to mention, the dress I ended up loving was of a designer (Watters) I had been looking at for years! I never thought I would be able to get a Watters gown for half the price AND have it fit so well with minimal alteration needs. Thank you Sample Shoppe! -

I had such a WONDERFUL experience at the Sample Shoppe this past Friday. Aja was my associate-I think she is also the manager. She was amazing and so attentive. Even with being a walk in, Aja was able to provide me with what felt like one on one attention-even if she was juggling one other bride. In the end, I did purchase my wedding dress from the Sample Shoppe and I could not be happier. The selection of gowns was wonderful and the prices had a great range. There was even a room with only $800 under priced gowns. If you are looking to save some money and enjoy quality customer service this is the place. -

I got my wedding dress from the Sample Shoppe and it is gorgeous! It’s a small boutique so I didn’t originally expect to find anything but as soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one and my party agreed. All that to say, I love my dress. What I did not love was the service my group and I received as Black women. When we entered the boutique, my sister/MOH asked Aja if she (my sister) could help look through the dresses with me. She was told that only the bride was allowed to look through the gowns because they wanted to minimize the number of people touching them. We’re in a pandemic so that was understandable. A few minutes later while I’m trying on my dress, a white/white-passing family walks in and everyone in their party starts looking through the gowns together. Aja sees this and says nothing. At this point, we’re confused because this contradicted the instructions she had given us minutes prior. At that point, I was annoyed but I had already tried on my gown and fell in love and I wasn’t going to let Aja get in the way of me and my perfect dress. So I bought it and went on my merry way.
And then when I returned to get the dress after it was cleaned, she was visibly impatient as if I were a burden to her. She rushed me through reading my contract/receipt and then pretty much walked away into a back room without saying anything. I don’t know Aja personally or the family that came in while my group was there but I do know she treated them differently than she treated me and my Black family. Maybe she cares more about making the sale than equality and helping all brides for their big day. Either way, I’m glad that I have my dress and I no longer have to interact with her. -

Beware of buying from this store. They are not upfront or honest about the alterations that will be needed for a dress, or the cost of them, given all their gowns are off-rack. I spent over $1,000 on a dress at this shop and was reassured several times by Aja that the gown would have no problem being altered down three dress sizes and that it wouldn't be "that expensive at all". My mistake for believing her. After visiting with seven different seamstresses and being quoted between $1,400-$2,000+ for alterations, I am now scrambling mere months before my wedding to find a new dress that won't cost thousands to alter, if necessary.
I would warn anyone that is thinking of visiting here to bring someone very familiar with alterations with you. This shop does not know what can be done, or the cost of it, and you could end up out thousands of dollars for a dress that isn't realistically wearable. They are deceptive and will sell you anything, and will also tell you anything you need to hear to ensure you purchase same-day. I would not recommend them at all, as there are far better, honest options in the area.
