Let me say, that everything was perfect!!!! They truly made our wedding day a dream come true!!! Very very nice and welcoming. Sharon did amazing. She was in boss mode the whole time and made sure we were taken care of. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding at. Her husband Noel was so sweet and drinks were on point!!!! The food AMAZING!!!!! Deliciousness with every bite we took! 10/10 recommendation for anyone who is looking for a wedding venue! The fun part was that they do everything from decorations to the day of coordinator and the catering!! One stop shop! We are extremely happy and satisfied with the outcome of our wedding!!!! -

I married the love of my life there in November. Everyone says how stressful wedding planning is, but that wasn't my experience at all. NOT. AT. ALL!! Sharon, Porsha and Noel are worth their weight in platinum (they've already surpassed the gold standard).
Venue- it's lovely and wild. Try to have a late spring, early summer or early fall wedding or event there if you want romantic rustic outdoor ceremony. The chuppah/gazebo sits off the area of an overgrown golf course so the backdrop is beautiful and you can have your florist (or family if you're doing a more DIY) add even more flowers. Inside? Well, it's classic elegance. The venue has its own linens, cutlery, table settings, center pieces, lighting and floor lighting (additional costs, of course) and catering. There are plenty of bathrooms. It is easy to navigate in and out of the venue for those with mobility issues (there were wide spaces for those to turn around if they had assistive devices). The front is a lovely colonial brick and there's settings all around for photos.
Food and bar - we selected a menu for happy hour and buffet dinner that included several hors d'eouvres/charcuterie, starter salad, three entrees, three sides (one side served as actually our vegetarian entree option [not vegan - but their chef can also offer that]), bread, tea/ lemonade. The bar was well stocked and if you wish, they can add additional liquors (at a very reasonable price).
Service - full disclosure - my mother (I'm the bride) was the planner, financier, and contributor. She worked closely and very well with Sharon and Porsha. So much so, I did not need a day of planner. They are very forthcoming with everything (costs, expectations, timeliness). They are also kind and respectful. They recognize and respect the breadth of religions and non-religions and have made a space that everyone feels welcome in.

The Royal Courtyard is THE PLACE to host your event! From the wonderful staff that treats you like family, to the amazing food, and beautiful decor! This venue is a hidden gem in Hampton Roads. Look no further when in search of a venue for your next event. I hosted my engagement party in February and everything was superb! I will be booking them for all future events and recommending all family and friends do as well! -

I can't express enough how grateful we are to have chosen The Royal Courtyard at West Neck Event Venue as our wedding venue! The venue is breathtaking and checks off all the boxes needs for a beautiful event. The owners and staff were extremely professional, friendly and efficient. Our day was stress free and our guests raved about both the venue the delicious food. Sharon and my planner Ellen were the "A" team! -

My husband & I want to thank The Royal Courtyard Mrs. Sharon & Mr. Noel along with the staff for making our wedding day amazing!!
From the time we took our tour until the end of our wedding day. They made sure they took care of us. May God continue to bless they venue. I will definitely recommend this venue. Top-notch, the food was great. Our decoration was amazing. Nice and clean, it smells so good in this venue. Our guest love this venue it's so beautiful.

They made the planning process seamless. We had last minute changes and they accommodated our ceremony as well as reception. They truly capture exactly what your dream is and turn it into a reality. Our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined. Thank You -

Samantha Sent on 09/12/2012The Royal Courtyard is a nice venue, and Mrs. Norman the owner includes a lot of things in your package that a lot of other venues would charge for. The only problem I had with Mrs. Norman is that she talks a lot about other things versus just stinking to the subject you are talking about. -

Peter Sent on 12/07/2020Most unprofessional place I have ever dealt with!
My Fiance and I went into this place on Saturday to take a look at it for our wedding in April of next year. Noel gave us a tour of the property and then we sat down with the coordinator. We gave them the exact date that we were looking for and went through a few of the things that they offer and they told us they would present us with a proposal. We did get the proposal that day and emailed them on Sunday to let them know that we accept and asked how do we make the requested downpayment.
Today Noel called my Fiance to let her know that a couple came in after us and was unsure about when they wanted to do their wedding so Noel and coordinator suggested to them the day that we came in and asked for!
Now I am no expert in the wedding business but I would think that you would not suggest a day that someone just came in and asked for. These people paid their deposit and set that date. Had they asked for a deposit while we were there we would have given it to them or they could have at least called us to let us know that someone else was inquiring about that date and we would have paid it.
This is a horrible way to do business and I would never recommend this place to anyone. If they treat you like this in the beginning, I would hate to see how they handle things later.
