The Ranch at Stoney Creek was the perfect venue. The first time we stepped foot on the property, we were in love.
Michelle and Leon was incredible and Susan was prompt in responsiveness to get us booked.
They both were incredibly kind and helped us every step of the way with booking all vendors and helping us create the perfect wedding.
They have beautiful decor that we were able to use that fit and matched our asthetic.
We had a pretty quick turnaround from booking the venue to the actual wedding, and the Ranch was nothing short of doing everything in a quick manner.
The rehearsal and day of wedding were also seamless, with the help of Michelle and Susan.
As a bride, I had no worries that everything would run smoothly.
Overall, HIGHLY recommend this venue. You will love the owners, fall in love with the beautiful outdoor property, and know that your day will be perfect.

The Ranch at Stoney Creek was the perfect venue for our wedding weekend. Their communication was always timely, helpful, and friendly, putting us at ease throughout the planning process. They reminded us of things that we hadn't thought of throughout the planning process and always had an option for a solution if we did not have one. The quality of their work and overall value was truly breathtaking - the floral bouquets they put together were beyond what we could have imagined, and their coordinator Michelle has an incredible eye for detail, ensuring our vision came to life in their tranquil and versatile space. Having a 3-day wedding celebration was something we had never heard of before, but The Ranch made it an absolute dream - from the welcome party with s'mores on Friday, to the main event on Saturday, and the farewell brunch on Sunday. We relive our special day over and over and cannot thank The Ranch enough for everything they did to make it so memorable.

I cannot find the right words to summarize our experience at the Ranch. It’s not just a venue- it’s an experience, it’s family, it’s connection. Michelle and Leon go above and beyond for everyone they host- Michelle literally fork fed me before I walked down the aisle. They are compassionate and full of life, not only them but their entire crew as well and every vendor they work with. The ranch has a rich history and every piece of furniture, art, decor, etc does as well. They can go from country chic to hippie commune and always, always provide variety whether it’s set up or scenery, every wedding can be unique at the ranch. My family loved being able to stay in their adorable and well maintained B&B and our friends were thrilled about other lodging close enough to walk to. They don’t settle for less than perfection in anything they do, and it shows. The fact that they have farm animals, beautiful ponds, and an incredible view at the top of their property overlooking the world are all just bonuses to the hospitality and total comfort we felt as clients. I am so happy to have found them and will be recommending this venue to all of my friends and future clients.

This venue was absolutely perfect. The owners and staff were so hospitable and made everything flow smoothly. The great thing about this venue is the diversity of option along with the flexibility of what they over and provide. My dream wedding was whimsical and woodsy. This venue would also be perfect for country, rustic, elegant, or a vineyard look. They literally have everything! The food was the best food I have ever eaten and cheaper than any of the caterers I contacted. Definitely have them cater. Absolutely gorgeous and accommodating venue.

If you want a venue that does it all & does it perfectly then this is the place! My husband & I were looking for a venue that was elegant yet still captured our love for the outdoors & the Ranch was perfect for just that! From providing rentals, decor, coordinators, florists, & more.. they genuinely do it all! The owners & staff were amazing throughout the wedding planning process & made sure everything went smoothly our entire wedding weekend! We really can’t thank Michelle & her amazing team enough for making our day so special & we wish we could do it all over again! We would highly recommend this wedding venue to any couple who is interested in celebrating their love out in the redwoods under the stars with their favorite people!

The Ranch at Stoney Creek is truly amazing. Michelle is truly a force of nature, not only was she our wedding coordinator, helped with all of the décor (that we were able to rent on site), helped manage all of our vendors, and provided recommendations and advice, but she also handled our floral arrangements and they were so BEAUTIFUL. Her staff was incredibly helpful and so sweet. Michelle and Sarah were able to set my mind at ease and truly let me focus on the best day of my life. I cannot recommend the Ranch enough.

Our wedding at The Ranch was so special and amazing. We fell in love with The Ranch when we had our initial walkthrough, and paid our deposit the same day before we drove away. What a beautiful venue it is!! My dream has always been to be married amongst the trees, and what a picturesque backdrop they were!! We especially loved the Lake House, Bridal Suite, and the Groomsmen Saloon that came along with the venue for the entire weekend. The Ranch is a magical, picturesque setting tucked away in the middle of the wine country in El Dorado County. Its such a fairytale wedding site. I cant tell you how many compliments we got on our amazing location the night of our wedding, and the compliments continue to roll in. Michelle and Suzanne paid such close attention to every detail of our wedding which made it picture perfect! We were so stressed with planning since it’s such a big life event, but their knowledge of wedding planning and their commitment to making the day special made it such a pleasant experience. I thought I was going to be really stressed the day of the wedding, but with their help I was able to relax and have so much fun on the day of my wedding. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, our wedding was everything we imagined and more. Do yourself a favor and book your wedding here, I promise you won’t regret it!!

We HIGHLY recommend The Ranch at Stoney Creek. This venue is absolutely beautiful and offers so many different options. The staff make your experience feel like one-of-a-kind and not just another wedding number for them to get through. From the attention to detail to the talented staff members, this venue will pull off your wedding vision and blow your guests away. The owners, Leon and Michelle, are extremely kind, hard working, and so talented. Michelle is a renowned designer and you will be lucky to get the chance to work with her. Our guests were blown away with the decorations, flowers, tables, etc. We also highly recommend their daughter, Melissa Gayle, for photography. Her bubbly personality, solid communication skills, and creativity made the day of experience so much fun, but also very smooth. Her photography is truly a work of art!!!

Overall, we HIGHLY recommend this venue! We loved having the three day package and having so many options to choose from. The staff are just amazing and make the whole experience! We feel beyond lucky we found this place. Our guests were truly amazed and continue to talk about the venue!!

We will start off by saying that our wedding guests had great things to say about the venue and our Big Day was beautiful, went smoothly without issues and we very much enjoyed ourselves. With that being said, we think it’s important for people to know the stressors we experienced from this venue leading up to our Big Day, while also recognizing that planning a wedding is just stressful in general. We felt that the venue owner was a bit of a micromanager and very set in her ways with how things should operate. This isn’t a flattering characteristic to have when you're giving the venue owners thousands of dollars to use their property.
We did not choose Stoney Creek’s in-house coordination package because we did not feel they would be calm, organized, and helpful in the process. The phone convos and emails we had in our decision-making process were chaotic, unorganized, and tended to go off topic (in fairness I will note that they were still dealing with the repercussions of the Caldor Fire at the time we were deciding on our planner). We chose another planning company who we felt was calm, organized, and direct. This decision seemed to upset the owner and cause a lot of unnecessary tension and snarky comments directed toward our planner, which was upsetting for us to see given how much we were spending. I will also note that if you hire an outside planner, the venue will likely find a way to take money from the deposit because of how particular they are on how things get done, it’s almost impossible to get it right if you’re not the owner/venue staff.
We also felt our initial signed contract led us astray. There were many things not included in the signed contract that later became policy we were asked to abide by. These new policies were handed out in pamphlets 4-6 months after we signed our contract. As you can imagine, this was very frustrating. For example, their “no lights out” policy sounds nice but don’t be fooled. They charge $75/hour after 12am for anyone that is still awake on the property. This was not information provided at our tour or in our contract. Additionally, you must give them a 6-month notice if you’re not doing on-site brunch the next day so they can plan another wedding for Sunday. This was not written anywhere in our signed contract, they did waive the fee as a “favor” to us but it actually wasn’t a favor.
All added fees on top of the venue cost were frustrating, no one wants to deal with this, just include it in the venue cost. I think one thing that made this so frustrating is that, on our tour, they said they pride themselves on being more budget friendly because of having to pay for all their kids’ weddings. This is not the case. Understand all fees before signing your contract, they were not able to give us a price sheet on our tour. It was later emailed to us and then we were told it was wrong and should never have been sent out. We will note that they did honor some prices, but this is unprofessional regardless.
It’s a beautiful property and a great place for a wedding, but we wished the venue could have conveyed all rules and policies upfront. We also wished the owner could have been nicer to our planner, more cooperative, withheld comments on her past negative wedding experiences and instead focused on the positives and made us feel excited instead of stressed out. We did appreciate her husband, the co-owner, who was always friendly and personable. We feel our four-star review is a very fair review.
