We were absolutely thrilled with the professionalism of the staff and the beautiful atmosphere! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bartenders did a phenomenal job accommodating our guests. Our son’s wedding reception was a wonderful night I highly recommend this venue for any special occasion. We will be happy to book the Purple Iris again for our next important event!!!!!!!

So Martinsburg, in general, may not be the prettiest area in the country, but once you get onto the grounds of the Purple Iris, you'll feel as though you've been transported to a romantic, southern estate home, surrounded by beautiful gardens, elegant decor, a gorgeous patio with koi pond water feature, and the best venue and catering staff you could ask for.

All of my guests were very impressed with our location. It feels incredibly intimate and tucked away from the world, but there are a lot of both outdoor and indoor spaces for your guests to stretch their legs and enjoy themselves.

The owner, Tiffany, is fantastic. Not only was she there helping me every step of the way to hlep me plan leading up to the wedding, but she was there on-site helping coordinate those plans for me on the day of the wedding. Her staff is excellent - they helped so much with our decorations and venue set up the day before and helped us gather our things during the clean up as well. She was very quick to respond to my many, many, many emails and never once made me feel like I was a bother.

The food is delicious! We had both our rehearsal dinner and reception here. We loved the idea of not having to hire an outside caterer who would truck food in and risk it being cold or them having to use heat lamps to keep it warm - having the food onsite made everything delicious.

Bottom line - I highly recommend the Purple Iris for both its location and catering.

The Purple Iris was a perfect place for our wedding and reception. Tiffany made the wedding planning process a breeze and the day of was even better than we hoped! We first visited the house a year before our wedding and fell in love with the location. The next day, we decided to have dinner at the resturant and to this day I think it is one of the best meals we have had! We immediately decided to book the venue. Tiffany was very helpful in every stage of the planning process and set up an excellent tasting to help us decide the final menu. The day of our wedding could not have gone any more smoothly. Tiffany and her mother checked in on us throughout the night to make sure we had something to eat and drink, and they boxed up leftover food to have after the event in the carriage house. I cannot thank them enough for making our wedding such a wonderful day. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the area, I highly recommend the Purple Iris!

The Purple Iris was amazing to have as a venue in all aspects. The mansion is beautiful with options to have a Ceremony onsite inside or outside, with a reception to follow. Tiffany was so amazing and worked so hard to make sure everything went exactly as planned during our wedding. The food was amazing as well! Everyone complimented me on how beautiful it was, how great the food was, and how nice and attentive the staff was. They deserve 10/5 stars!! They also went above and beyond to help make sure that we had the decorations up and everything we needed beforehand. Thank you Purple Iris!!

We absolutely loved our experience with this venue. Tiffany was great to communicate with and so helpful throughout the whole process. The venue was perfect for an outdoor ceremony that could have been moved inside the beautiful mansion if it rained. The tent outside is huge and very pretty. We really liked the bridal suite for getting ready.
Everyone loved the food and the open bar was very well-run. The staff was so friendly and helpful. This is the best value for a really great price. Absolutely feel confident knowing you are booking a great venue with dependable people here.

We were on a tight budget for our wedding and chose The Purple Iris because I heard great reviews and the property is breathtaking. Tiffany is so easy to work with and very accommodating. Tiffany worked so hard to make sure every piece of our wedding was exactly what we wanted. She was easy to get in touch with and very flexible with scheduling everything in. The food was amazing. The staff made sure our day was absolutely perfect! They made sure we got food (because everyone knows that being the bride and groom you don't have time to eat!) and anything else we would need so we did not miss a beat of what was going on. I would highly recommend them for anyone who wants a perfect venue that takes care of everything except the centerpieces.

I previously worked on staff at the Purple Iris and saw hundreds of beautiful weddings on site. While I moved away from the area years ago, I still always dreamed of having my wedding at the Purple Iris one day! I think this really speaks to the quality of service that Dan and Tiffany provide.

First of all, the grounds are stunning and there is no better catering in the Eastern Panhandle. Seriously- the food is so amazing! The spacious grounds allow many different options for setting up your reception/ceremony/pictures and provide contingencies if weather on your big day isn't ideal. The staff are experienced and can help with any thing you may need on your big day.

This venue is only 90 minutes outside of DC and the bang-for-your-buck value is simply unmatched! My out of town guests were blown away by the Purple Iris, just like I always knew that they would be. As always, I will continue to recommend the Purple Iris to anyone planning a wedding or large event!

Perfect venue. We wanted a fairly simple low key wedding and did things a little differently than most, Tiffany allowed us to make this our own and accommodated all of our requests without hesitation. Low stress and easy to work with. Very responsive to e-mail. Beautiful grounds!! Definitely the best choice for a venue!!

My wife Irina and I had the pleasure of working with Tiffany and the Purple Iris for our wedding reception. She was a complete godsend and an absolute joy to work with. Everything was beautiful and her and the staff worked incredibly hard to make it all happen. They were incredibly accommodating and I would recommend the Purple Iris for any event. The location is perfect for all of my guests to travel, Martinsburg has plenty of activity, and the property is gorgeous!

Booking our July 9th, wedding at purple iris was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. It took my husband and I so long to try to find a venue that would be able to accommodate at least most of both our large families, without having insane minimums that we would have to meet. Right when we first saw pictures of the purple iris and starting talking to Tiffany (who was fantastic), we knew that we had finally found our venue, even before we stepped foot on the property! Once we got there to tour it completely solidified that decision for us. It's truly a hidden gem, I had passed it thousands of times driving here or there, and never knew it existed. Tiffany was great every step of the way answering questions and helping us get ready for our big day. I'm a pastry chef and Tiffany even suggested that I make a cookie bar/desert table to put out for our guests and had no problem with setting that up for us. The food was so good, my husband and I managed to eat at least a bit of everything in the rush! Everyone seemed to love the entree choices and the appetizers, people were so excited for the sausage stuffed mushrooms and fawning over them and surprisingly to my husband and I the Peking Duck Rolls! Plates were cleaned by everyone, one of my flower girls had chicken strips and fries, and we asked her why she hadn't eaten her chicken and her response was that she didn't need the chicken because the fries were excellent! High praise from a very picky 8 year old! Tiffany and her staff took care of everything for us, from her walking us through the venue the first day until the day of the wedding when she set out our centerpieces that I made, guest book, candles and all our decorations. It was a beautiful and fantastic day that went so seamlessly and beautiful. We had nothing but raves from all our guests, everyone loved the house, the food and everything in general. Thank you so much for everything! I couldn't have asked for a better day!

I wish I could give more than 5/5 for value for The Purple Iris. The venue was perfect for our wedding ceremony and reception. There are several inside and outside options for ceremony location, which is a must when you are planning an outdoor ceremony! The food was delicious and affordable (compared to many other venues I priced out). They do many weddings per year and therefore Tiffany was very knowledgable and helpful. She answered all of my questions promptly despite having numerous other brides. On the day of our wedding she helped coordinate, and even made sure we got to taste our appetizers despite missing cocktail hour for pictures. We loved working with The Purple Iris and we are so happy we got married on their beautiful property! -Joanna & Johnny

I had my wedding here on 7/4/15 and Tiffany the owner was awesome to work with, in fact her whole staff was great considering it was a holiday weekend! The venue was absolutely beautiful. Right off of Route 11, you feel set back from the road and truly in a different place. You get to use the whole first floor of the home, the grounds, and the back patio with tent over it for the reception. I used the grounds for the ceremony and the tent for the reception. They took care of many of the details, and the home and grounds are decorated so well that you hardly need to add anything! The food was delicious and everyone commented about how good it was. They did the cake as well, which was a white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing...YUM :) I could not have asked for a more perfect day than the one I had here. I would recommend this to everyone for smaller events too. Tiffany is great to work with, organized, and professional. She appeared to be everywhere at once and nowhere at the same time, which was an amazing feat the day of the wedding! Her staff was very helpful and kind to all of the guests, making accommodations as needed. I can't say enough wonderful things about The Purple Iris and if I had to do it all over again I would choose it again and again!

Tiffany and her staff were wonderful and very accommodating! With never having planned an event of this size, it was somewhat intimidating but she was able to work with us every step of the way. The venue itself is gorgeous and has wonderful space both inside and out. We had several people with mobility needs and we were able to bring a small ramp to set up and they had no problems.

We held our daughter's wedding and reception at The Purple Iris last week and could not be more pleased. Tiffany and staff were very professional and so helpful. We made some adjustments last minute with no issues and even made some changes to standard menu options. The venue itself is gorgeous and has many options for ceremony location, all beautiful. We had a truly wonderful experience from start to finish! Thank you so much for making our daughter's day the best!

Tiffany was really amazing. She accommodated our many dietary restrictions, set up everything, was very organized, and responded very quickly to any questions we had.

The Purple Iris was the perfect place for our perfect day. Tiffany worked with us to create everything we wanted on our special day. The food was absolutely delicious. The grounds were beautiful. Tiffany invited us in a day ahead to put up decorations. The staff was friendly. Everything went very smoothly.

Over three years later and people are still talking about our wedding at The Purple Iris! The site is gorgeous, the staff is friendly, and the food is fabulous. We had an afternoon wedding with hors d'oeuvres and drinks and I believe everyone left full and happy. They were willing to work with the choices my husband and I wanted and even made sure there was a Guinness for my toasting glass even though we weren't serving it at the wedding. I found out after the fact that there was a power outage during our ceremony, but this was not an issue as they made sure the food was set and everyone was enjoying themselves... the only thing missing was coffee since they needed electricity for the pots. The staff made sure there was refreshments left from the reception in our room for the evening once the guests had left, which was very much appreciated. The location is a great value and is gorgeous, especially for spring weddings, AND they offer special rates for non-peak times (like our Sunday afternoon wedding). If you need a wonderful outdoor locale, this is the best bet in the Eastern Panhandle.

Absolutely beautiful setting. I was originally supposed to have an outdoor wedding by this giant tree on the grounds (so gorgeous), but Hurricane Joaquin. We were married in the tent over the fountain. It was beautiful. They were able to switch things around for us very easily. The reception was moved from the tent to the sunroom. The reception area was a little smaller than we had originally planned, but they made it work. The cake was beautiful, and most importantly, tasty. And the food was great and beautifully plated. They were great to work with. And we did our toast with sparkling apple cider. Really added to it being a fall wedding!

Beautiful location. Tiffany was extremely professional and worked with our vendors so we could just enjoy our special day. We had many compliments on the food. Site fee gets you the enitre downstairs, including garden room as well as ouside under the tent. Also would be an excellent location for a rehearsal dinner, anniversary, etc. as they have a restaurant upstairs.

The Purple Iris was the perfect venue for both our ceremony and reception. Dinner was delicious, and the grounds were gorgeous. There were many options of how we would like to have our ceremony and reception set up - Indoor/Outdoor, etc. The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

The Purple Iris is, simply put, beautiful! The food was absolutely delicious & Tiffany is great. I just wish the staff was friendlier. Had multiple people come to me after the wedding and tell me the people at the bar and the people passing out the cake were rude. Other than that, everything was perfect!
