Still getting compliments about the food!

We had a phenomenal experience with Perfect Pear. They were super responsive and adapted to every single one of our requests.

We loved that they wanted to walk through the venue before the big day to make sure they had a good lay of the land, and I seriously cannot think of a single criticism. The food was incredible and the perfect temperature, and the setup was even nicer than I ever expected. We got so many compliments about how good the food was. Every interaction we had with their staff was super positive, and we were so happy everything went so smoothly.

The next time we have a catered event, we'll be hiring Perfect Pear again. We loved every single thing we ate, their friendliness toward us and our guests, and the totally stress-free process of working with them every step of the way!

Professional Service Team, Delicious Food!

Leni, Nikki, Amy, and Chef Oscar provided a delicious and beautifully arranged spread for a first birthday this past weekend and it was everything we had imagined and more! From the very moment we contacted this team, their communication was clear, quick, and professional. They were very willing to work with us to provide on-theme, creative bites that tasted as good as they looked. The service was on-time, kept impeccably clean, and they provided a way for the client to take home leftovers at the end of the celebration. We will absolutely use this professional team again for future events!

Flavorfull

Perfect Pear did an amazing job! Not only were we able to taste all the food at our wedding in full! But, we got 8 boxes of left overs to take home with us! EVERYONE at the wedding was happy with the food, from the kids to the adults, everyone was going back for seconds and the food has so much flavor and was presented so well! The staff was on it! They made sure we had everything we needed as the bride and groom, to making sure all our guests got everything they needed, serving drinks, they also came and found us before our send off and thanked us/presented us with a cookbook! We were blown away, couldn’t not have picked a better caterer!

Flexible and accommodating for a destination wedding

Leni was very responsive via phone and email, and flexible and accommodating with all of our Covid requests and destination wedding planning questions. Our food was delicious, and the staff at our home during the wedding evening were very professional and helpful.

Most Delicious Catering Ever!

Although we didn't have much time to sit down and eat at our wedding, The Perfect Pear team was essential in bringing us food as we were entertaining the guests! The food was absolutely fantastic and everyone just raved about the braised beef short rib and salmon. If you haven't tried shrimp and grit fritters, you MUST get them from The Perfect Pear!! We had an outdoor wedding, which in my mind I thought the food would be a disaster (because Florida and it was the coldest day of the year so far). But, I was so wrong. The team moved effortlessly through the space and it was almost like the just blended right in. We never even had a worry about the buffet table because everything was so well managed.

10/10 would use them to cater a future party and want all of our friends to use them in the future

Perfect Pear Catering absolutely NAILED IT!

Perfect Pear catered my wedding reception of 65 people. From the start, Leni was so open and flexible with me. She allowed me to interchange certain items on her menu, handled my guest's food allergies and even incorporated a veggie burger slider in the 'Slider Station' upon my request. Leni and her entire crew were so professional the entire night! I didn't have to second guess what was happening for a minute, literally a bride's dream come true. Also, HUGE shoutout to Jeremy. Unfortunately, the bartender I hired did not show up and Jeremy handled it until we found a replacement. He checked in on the groom and I frequently to see if we needed anything, food or drink. Everyone at my wedding was floored by how amazing my catering company was and I can't say thank you enough to all of you! Would ABSOLUTELY hire them again!!

The Perfect Caterers

The Perfect Pear went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. Working in abnormal conditions, split between extreme heat and an atypical house setup, the team was hospitable, supportive, and, of course, the food was delicious! They did so many personal things to make our day special that I can't even begin to list them all in one review. Just book them - you'll thank yourself later.

The team at the Perfect Pear was wonderful. They answered all of our questions leading up to the wedding and went above and beyond to help us determine how much and what kind of food we would need, as well as plenty of other details we never would have thought of without their help. They had worked with our venue previously and so were very helpful in working out logistics and complying with the venue's rules. We did not worry at all on the day of the wedding, because we knew the Perfect Pear team would take care of everything we discussed, and they did! I would highly recommend them for your catering needs.

Verousce and her team were hands-down our easiest vendor. Verousce provided easy to understand proposals, made changes in a timely manner, and was on point with communications. She created a spectacular menu for our brunch wedding that we were happy to eat over and over again for the next week from the leftovers. Verousce was so easy to work with and so flexible, we can't recommend her enough.

Seriously, just stop now. You've found the best caterer. The food was amazing, the service top-notch, and every step of the way Verousce was friendly, professional, and helpful. All of our guests raved about the food, which included appetizers (do not miss out on the honey-sriracha mac n cheese bites!), 3 different entrees (2 vegetarian), salad (yum!), and 4 small desserts, in addition to wedding cake. This was the most stress-free part of the wedding planning and of the day itself.

I happened upon The Perfect Pear in a google search while I was planning my youngest daughters wedding. This was my first experience planning a wedding, so I was understandably nervous. Verousce was AMAZING! She immediately calmed me down and helped me plan an affair my daughter will always remember. We knew we wanted something simple, classic and southern. She encouraged me to look at her Southern Station Menu. The menu consisted of three manned food stations, each offering a different style food. We had shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and coco-cola brisket with macaroni and cheese. Because the stations were separate there was never a line! People chose the station that appealed most to them. She also designed a cocktail hour menu that reflected the style we were looking at. We had three passed hor d'oeuvres (fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, buffalo chicken skewers with bleu cheese sauce and pulled pork slider biscuit with peach salsa). We also had a mini-grilled cheese station. Verousce offered a tasting where we we able to sample everything and let me tell you everything was AMAZING! People are still raving about the food. She also provided a non-alcoholic beverage bar and a coffee service for dessert. Do not hesitate to use this vendor! I promise you will not be disappointed!

The Perfect Pear catered our daughter's wedding at Walker's Landing, Amelia Island, and it was over the top. From the beginning of the process, I felt at ease working with Anne. She was very helpful with choosing the menu and also suggested possible tableware options to go with.
The tasting was wonderful with Chef Verousce & staff, and I knew that I had made the right decision in going with The Perfect Pear. On the day of the wedding, Chef Verousce & her staff were both professional with a much appreciated personal touch. The food was delicious and the shrimp 'n grit shooters were a big hit with guests! The Perfect Pear carried the load of the food & service so that I could enjoy the evening!

We booked a private, family dinner to celebrate my parents’ 65th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled, due to the evacuation a couple days beforehand, for Hurricane Matthew. While we have, therefore, not yet had the opportunity to enjoy the service and cooking of The Perfect Pear, they were a pleasure to deal with in preparing for the event. What’s more, Verousce and her team were most accommodating when we had to change our plans. Even though the weather, by the planned date had turned beautiful in Jacksonville, flight cancellations had made it impossible for most of us to arrive in time. Verousce was completely understanding and, in the circumstances, was quick to offer a refund. We look forward to our next opportunity to gather in town and hire The Perfect Pear!

The Perfect Pear catered our December 12th wedding and people are still raving about the food. As a foodie, the meal was one of the most important parts of the day for me...I really wanted our guests to have an awesome food experience. The team worked with us to create a custom menu based on our budget and we couldn't have been happier with the result. We did a bruschetta bar for cocktail hour which was a big hit, passed hors d'oeuvres (our favorite was the short rib slider) and three stations for dinner. The favorites from our guests were the shrimp and grits bar and the chicken and waffles station...both were AMAZING and were a special touch to our southern style menu. The staff was great to work with during the planning stages and staff onsite for the wedding were very attentive - even bringing the groom and I food during every stage to make sure we were also able to enjoy the food! They also made a special meal for our two vegan guests. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them for your next event!

The Perfect Pear made my amazing wedding cake and french macaron tower combo. After contacting several bakeries and feeling discouraged because none of them felt they could execute my idea, the Perfect Pear really made it all come together. The entire team was great to work with! They accommodated my entire planning crew (aka my family) for the tasting and it was a wonderful experience. Hard to choose from all the great flavors! My review will be Unique because I am not the bride, or even part of the wedding party that I am reviewing. In fact, I am part of another local catering company and just happened to be there as the day of coordinator for this event. I had several interactions with Anne from PP, and they were all professional, very friendly and extremely detail specific. I am a details person so this was so awesome for me to see. Prior to the wedding they were aware that the family was providing several specialty items and they {Perfect Pear} offered to stage it, provide signage for it and maintain it. Day of the wedding they arrived early and began to set all the special details up, and they were very efficient, organized and professional. The staging of the food, the displays and the actual wedding dinner menu were fantastic! Beautifully and artfully put together with obvious care, and a hint of femininity that made everything soft and romantic. The dinner menu was obviously hand crafted and gorgeously put together with vibrant color, organic herbs and spices and velvety homemade sauces..... Yes, I am a serious food lover and this was an incredible opportunity to work with another caterer that puts so much care, thought and love into everything they do. It was an honor to work with them, and I hope we will cross paths again in the future.

What can we say about the Perfect Pear? They were phenomenal. Just truly perfect!! We wanted to throw a 100% grain-free, dairy-free Paleo wedding (as that is our lifestyle) and they did it. With flying colors. With no hassle, no attitude, no issues, no reservations. The owner Anne is so personable and willing to work with quite a range of specificities...including a grain-free, dairy-free, Paleo cake! ...which was so good, we cut it up into pieces and vacuum-sealed it so we could eat it all! The food was amazing - we had a roasted beet salad, braised short rib with tri-colored, local carrots and cauliflower mash, a vegan ratatouille, and a crispy-skin chicken that was to die for. We actually had guests that said it was the best food they'd ever eaten. It was hot and perfectly cooked, which is important, as my husband and I are Paleo cookbook authors and bloggers and food is pretty much our life. We were married at Crosswater Hall (in Nocatee FL), had a sit-down plated meal for 130 people and it went flawlessly. I mean PERFECT. If you are considering this vendor in any way, I would HIGHLY recommend them - especially if you have dietary restrictions. They acted like it was no big deal, working with me and my husband to ensure our satisfaction and we couldn't be happier. It was the best communication and we'll be life-long supporters and advocates of this business. If I could give them more stars, I would! Thanks for a great experience!!! <3

The Perfect Pear is the one and only company my husband and I had a food tasting at. After first bite, we knew that we wanted them to cater our dream wedding. The food is unbelievable and their staff is very professional. Anne was amazing to work with. (I think I texted her more than my husband the month before the wedding.) She was quick to respond and always made me feel at ease. If ever an issue, they are willing to work with you and make sure you are 100% satisfied. I totally recommend The Perfect Pear to any Bride and Groom for their big day. I know we look forward to working with them in the future.

Where to even begin. Anne and the team at the Perfect Pear truly brought our vision to life. When we approached them initially about my fiance and I being former chef's ourselves and the impact we knew we wanted to food to have at our wedding...they accepted the challenge and delivered. They went above and beyond to create without a doubt the most amazing spread of food....our guests are still emailing and texting me about it! I would highly recommend them if you want every detail of your event/wedding to be perfect. They accommodated my food allergies as well as my guests, which was also a critical piece to our reception. Working with Rachel was extremely pleasant. She helped with every question I had, she must have modified my menu for me a few times and was always so polite about it! Any changes I wanted she worked with me to make them perfect!
We had our wedding at a beach house in St. Augustine Beach in May...HOLY HOT OUTSIDE, but, the staff was so professional and friendly, and the food...oh my the food was AMAZING!!!! Amazing is an understatement.
Being the bride you always get so sidetracked with everything you forget to eat, well, we had passed hors d'oeuvres and each of the girls made sure to find me personally and make sure I had some before they were gone....and they were gone quick!!
We had such a wonderful wedding day and the food and service from the Perfect Pear is still talked about by us and our guests! Everyone raved about how good it was!
We plan on having a baby shower soon and intend on having The Perfect Pear cater it!
I wouldn't go anywhere else for your event but with The Perfect Pear!

I would HIGHLY recommend The Perfect Pear Catering Company to anyone seeking a tasting menu which will knock the socks of the guests. Their staff is highly professional, creative and courteous. They are one of the best caterers I've ever used in my life!!! I would use them again in a single heart-beat. Rachel and her team were the best hands down! I would like to thank you and your staff for an exceptional job on food and presentation. Everyone is still talking and wishing they took some food home! The food was DELICIOUS! I was so worried about making sure that there would be enough food but it was more than enough. If we ever come back to Jacksonville for an event, you would definitely be 1st on the list as our caterer.

The food was leaps and bounds better than ordinary wedding food and we couldn't have been happier with the food or the service. Rachel, co-owner of The Perfect Pear is fantastic. Everyone couldn't rave enough about the food. My priest even commented that it's the best food he's ever had at a "banquet-type" event (that speaks volumes as this man has attended multitudes of special occasions). The Perfect Pear team is absolutely the best. We had a small, intimate wedding in our backyard -- a small and challenging venue -- which Rachel and her team worked beautifully, given all the limitations. What's more, Rachel was 100% amazing with regard to helping us plan the flow of the entire event. She made suggestions that just made sense -- and highlighted details I would have surely overlooked. Her crew was super-friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to anything and everything the day required -- from guest questions, to refreshing plates of food, to restocking beverages. The food was perfectly delicious. Rachel was quick to gather a sense of what we needed and wanted in terms of look and feel -- then responded spot-on with the perfect breakfast/brunch menu -- including a lovely beverage bar and totally scrumptious brunch appetizers. We had some initial concerns about vegetarian menus -- and also the ability of a catering company to procure local, organic food. Whenever possible, they did what they could to accommodate us beautifully -- and we so appreciated all the vegetarian options -- which, in fact, were every bit as tasty as the meat-ful varieties. If you want a catering company with sharp instincts for style and detail -- plus a warm, friendly team -- and artful, delicious food -- do call the Perfect Pear.

The food was amazing! We had so many compliments on it. It is really hard to find someone to cater a buffet with good food that is not dried out. We have been to a lot of weddings and nothing has come close to comparing to their menu. The staff was absolutely the best there is! They had everything all set up, helped with our cake, kept the food coming out, and the bartender made sure we always had a drink. I cannot thank them enough. Our day was absolutely perfect!

The Perfect Pear catered our rehearsal dinner in our home the night before our wedding. The staff is extremely professional and allowed us to enjoy our guests as they took care of everything else. They were very attentive and made sure courses were moving along in a timely fashion and even packaged left-overs and placed them in our refrigerator for us. The best part, the food was absolutely delicious, everybody loved it. We are very happy we chose The Perfect Pear to cater our rehearsal dinner, they really did exceed our expectations. We even used their chocolate coconut bark as wedding favors which our guests loved!

Rachel and her team were AMAZING!!!!! They were going to be our wedding caterer but when we had to change the venue within days of the wedding they were very understanding when we could not find a location that would allow us to bring in a caterer. Rachel worked with us in the strange situation and we were able to use them for the Rehearsal Dinner. And thank goodness because I need some mac-n-cheese balls. I am obsessed with the mac-n-cheese balls they make and our guest are still talking about them a few months later. I often feel like a crazy person when I talk about them but really they are that good! As a self-proclaimed foodie i have had a lot of great food before and nothing comes close to these.
All of the other food was just as amazing and the presentation was beautiful!
We are so thankful to Rachel and the entire Perfect Pear staff for helping to turn a stressful situation into a wonderful experience. I can't wait until we need a caterer again because they will be the first people we call.

Rachel and her team at the Perfect Pear were excellent. I created a unique menu for my small wedding and they were more than happy to help me. They were always available when I needed them and answered my many questions promptly. They also arranged for my husband and I to attend a tasting the week before the wedding. The food was delicious!

The day of the ceremony, the crew arrived on time and were very professional. The presentation was amazing. The food was delicious. I am still hearing about how great the food was from my friends and family. I would definitely recommend the perfect pear for any occasion. They were very easy to work with and contributed to making my day perfect.

Perfect Pear was fantastic. Rachel and her staff are absolutely wonderful and I cannot say enough great things about them. Their food is delicious, and they have a lot of menu options. If there is something you want them to make that isn't on their menu list, they can create it. If you have a certain vision, Rachel is also great at providing suggestions. The chef is extremely talented and not only is the food delicious, the presentation is beautiful and very current, which was one of the selling points to us. Our favorite menu items were the mac 'n' cheese bar, fried green tomatoes, and bacon wrapped shrimp. I was planning our wedding from out of town and Rachel was always prompt and responsive via phone and email and was happy to meet with us to make changes or ask questions. The staff was very professional and was very friendly at our wedding. They approached my groom and I a few times to make sure we had enough food and champagne, and we really appreciated that. Perfect Pear also works with a wonderful linen company and wonderful bartending service, which was very convenient for us. We also found Perfect Pear to be very affordable and they worked with us to give us the most variety and best menu for our budget. We highly recommend Perfect Pear!

My fiance and I are self proclaimed "foodies" and Rachael and Mike at Perfect Pear managed to exceed all of our expectations! They are very prompt in responding to any of my emails and phone calls. Working with them to create our reception menu was fun and stress-free. They offered us a tasting that included all of the appetizers and the courses we had selected and each one was better than the next! My guests were raving about the food and the service at the wedding! I cannot say enough great things about them. The Perfect Pear is a very talented caterer as well as passionate about what they do. Their work ethic is commendable. There attention to detail was evident when Rachel noticed that the dinnerware was a bit spotted so she had her crew wash every piece until it sparkled brightly. The food was delectable, too. The service they rendered was top notch. The Perfect Pear left quite an impression on us and our guests.

The Perfect Pear's staff and services are truly beyond amazing! From the initial consultation to the day of, everything was smooth sailing. Even the last few days before the wedding, Rachel and Gwen, reassured us, offered encouraging words and helped in any way that they could.

The food - FABULOUS! Our guests raved about our appetizers, buffet and desserts! The staff even set aside a plate of appetizers for the bridal party to enjoy after we finished taking photos - so considerate! They take pride in their work and it shows!

I was very thrilled to have Rachel and her team cater both my fiance's 50th birthday party the night of Nov 25th and then my sit down dinner for my wedding on Nov 26th. It was a hectic week due to the Thanksgiving holidays and this was a destination wedding for us. The execution for both events were flawless. The food was amazing and Rachel was so easy to work with. Her husband actually became very ill the day of the wedding but she told him to stay home and take care of himself and she could handle the whole sit down dinner for a 114 people. And she did. It was the most beautiful, elegant, and extremely fun wedding ever. I will definitely would advise brides to invest in the Perfect Pear. They did a fantastic job.

If you want absolutely top quality and unique food and service for your wedding, you must go through the Perfect Pear Catering. The menu and flavor was out of this world and I had numerous remarks from guests about the fantastic food and how it was the best catered or reception food they had ever had. Rachel and the staff were so flexible and accomodating on every level from menu selections and changes, even down to the smallest details. The staff went above and beyond to provide exceptional service and we wanted for nothing. My parents, who are generally really hard to please, especially when it comes to something with a price tag, raved about the food and service. They plan to contact the Perfect Pear for future catering services. I personally think they are planning a party just so they can have the Perfect Pear's food creations again. One more thing: I planned my wedding from several states away and had no problem contacting or planning the catering, including the set up. This staff is professional, experienced and will only improve any event that you are having. If you don't go with the Perfect Pear, you are missing out on a unique, fabulous culinary experience. If you want to be guaranteed to impress your guests, the Perfect Pear must be your catering selection. Oh! The most important thing...the VALUE of the food and service is unparalleled.

I hired The Perfect Pear Catering Company to cater my wedding at The Sanchez House in St. Augustine, Florida on May 28th, 2011. Rachel was great throughout the planning process. We were able to come up with a menu that we were excited about that also met our budget and the different preferences of our guests. On the day of the wedding, the staff arrived 2 hours prior to our reception, and got right to work setting up displays, buffets, centerpieces, the bar, and a cheese display. Everything looked wonderful, and there were so many details that we handn't even planned for, but were so delighted to see! When it came to the food - well, that is what they do best, and they came through with flying colors. Everyone says that you don't eat at your own wedding, but we had to! Everyone loved the food. The evening seemlessly flowed from passed appetizers, to dinner, to dessert and coffee. At the end of the night, everything was left as if they were never there, except for the delicious leftovers they carefully packed into to-go containers and left in the fridge, which we wasted no time eating, as soon as all of our guests departed. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier with my decision of hiring this company and will highly recommend them to anyone catering an event. Cheers!

Rachel at Perfect Pear caterering company prepared the food and drinks for our son and daughter-in-law's July 17th, 2011 wedding Open House/Reception celebration. Rachel was recommended to us for the event and after interviewing Rachel as well as another caterering company, we opted for Perfect Pear to caterer our event. Rachel patiently sat with our son and daughter-in-law to be and worked out a menu and drink/bar arrangement that they were very pleased with and was within our budget requirements. We found Rachel to be very professional and she did deliver beautifully upon all that we planned. But, perhaps most of all, the food she prepared was delicious and we received rave comments from many of the attending guests.
I would recommend Rachel and her company for any type of caterering event you might be considering. The day of the event, she arrived with her team of professionals and worked seamlessly throughout the event to make it a great success. Do yourself a favor and don't book anyone for caterering until you have spoken to Rachel. I know we were glad we did! Happy partying!

We hired Rachel and her team for our St Augustine Wedding at the Sanchez House on April 9, 2011. We wanted the food to be a major focal point of the evening and Perfect Pear did not disappoint. We had a tasting prior to the wedding and we were dazzled to say the least. The entrees were prepared with a stunning presentation and my hubby was in love with the hors d oeuvres! Each bite was like a festival in your mouth! We were very impressed. Rachel was lovely and worked with me every step of the way to make everything perfect. The day of was very hectic and I did not get a chance to really enjoy the hors de oeuvres, which was expected, as we were taking photographs while cocktail hour was happening. But, I became flustered over some napkins that did not arrive and the staff was right there with a steaming hot plate of Perfect Pear pizzette, which was my favorite, making me smile and melting away my tension. All of our guests raved at the food and were very impressed. There were a few very minor things I had assumed would be a little different, but all in all we are so happy to have hired The Perfect Pear; their talent is immense! We would hire them if we had to do it all over again. I wish I could eat some of their delicious food right now... Thank you Rachel and Perfect Pear!

On May 7, 2011, Perfect Pear catered our wedding dinner for 21 people at our vacation home in St. Augustine Beach, FL. Since we live in San Diego, all of our planning took place by phone and e-mail with Rachel. Rachel was always available, extremely responsive and really took the time to understand what kind of food would work best with our guests. The sample menu choices on the website were really helpful but Rachel was happy to customize and tailor the menu for our specific needs. On the day of our event,Mike(the co-owner) and Chase showed up on time, prepped the food and then laid out an exquisite presentation. Not only did it look beautiful, but the food made all of guests swoon with delight. Throughout the entire evening, our guests commented on how unique and delicious everything was from the bacon wrapped jalapenos, fried green tomato napoleon, artisan cheeses, to the Perfect Pear salad, chicken roulade, asparagus, new potato salad and cous cous. Every dish was fresh and used high quality ingredients and was served at the right temperature. Mike and Chase were a delight to be with and were friendly, gracious and extremely professional. There was so much food that we were able to give our local guests full meal leftovers which they greatly appreciated. Mike and Chase did a fantastic job of cleaning up after the dinner and brought ample storage containers for the leftovers. They even helped take some photos of our ceremony on the beach. Perfect Pear Catering exceeded our expectations(which were quite high since we had several "foodies" and amateur cooks in the group). The costs were quite reasonable for both the quantity and quality of the food and presentation. And the service was "priceless". We were thrilled with how it all turned out and would highly recommend Perfect Pear to anyone planning an event, large or small. Rachel and Mike take great pride in everything they do and the personal touch they brought made everything even more special.

If I could describe the Perfect Pear Catering Company in just one word it would be "FLAWLESS", but that is not enough to describe them. The Perfect Pear Catering Company was with no doubt the best catering company we could ever hire in Jacksonville! We were so happy with their services. Everything was wonderful! All my guests were so happy with the food quality and staff! During the wedding reception and even days after our wedding I still received compliments about the caterer we chose! We couldn't be happier about our choice and we are definitely considering hiring them again in the future for anniversaries, family reunions and other events!

Rachel and Michael are wonderful to work with – They are so accommodating and willing to work with us to create a perfect menu for foodies!

The guests are raving about the food the next day and many of them have commented that they had the best food of all the weddings they have been do. My parents have some dietary restrictions and Rachel made sure they are taken care of.

Their excellent service did not end with the wedding – A week after the wedding, we discovered we are missing four magnum bottles of top shelf liquor. Rachel called her staff and the bartenders to ask around in an attempt to help us recover them!

We will definitely return to Perfect Pear Catering if we ever needed to cater for a private party and highly recommend them to our friends and family.

Perfect Pear Catering was one of the best experiences about my wedding. Everyone we worked with were very responsive, polite, and professional. Any questions I had before the wedding were promtly answered & Rachel was wonderful to work with.

The food itself was DELICIOUS - all my guest raved about how great it was, I loved everything we had!!!

I can not say enough great things about Rachel, Chef Mike and their staff. As someone who works in the catering and event business finding a Caterer with both great food and presentation was something that was very important to me. Their food, their presentations, their personalities are what make them! Perfect Pear is the GO TO catering company! My friends and family could not stop raving about the quality of the food and were impressed with the creativity of the menu & set up. I did heavy hors d'oeuvres and stations (something my northern italian family was NOT used to) and they could not get over it! While EVERYTHING was to die for, our guests could not get enough of the Risotto and Lamb Chops. Thanks again for everything YOU made the event!

I could not have been happier with Perfect Pear! They catered our Wedding and found ways to meet all of our special requests...not only that they exceeded our expectations! I couldn't have asked for a better catering company to work with for our wedding. Rachel is just a joy to work with. We had some last minute special requests that were taken care of immediately and with ease. Their presentation skills are incredible. I'm a detailed person, and they thought of details that I didn't even express for them to take care of. The food was fantastic! Our day was beautiful thanks to the Perfect Pear.

The Perfect Pear was the perfect match for my husband and me - they were exceptionally responsive, reasonably-priced, and fun to work with. Once I started working with Rachel, I never worried another minute about the menu or rentals. I loved working with the Perfect Pear - Rachel's typical response time on emails was about 30 minutes! The presentation and food itself were both amazing, and the service was impeccable. Thanks for making our wedding such a memorable event!!

Verousce at the Perfect Pear was the perfect choice for our Amelia Island wedding! The food was amazing and affordable, with beautiful presentation! We used her stations menu for southern comfort food with an upscale flair. We got so many compliments on the food from our guests and our cake and other desserts were beautiful and delicious. We had one small mixup with a special meal request but Verousce did everything in her power to rectify this, even calling the nearby resort to purchase the special meal directly from them. Highly recommend!

After the wedding, all my guests commented on how fabulous the food was and it was the best they have ever had at a wedding. All the attendees were extremely kind and helpful...I have no complaints!

I am a big foodie and quite particular in my tastes, so when arranging my wedding one of the must haves for me was to have fresh, high quality, healthy and of course mouth watering, delicious food. I had previously attended a small party catered by The Perfect Pear and I really liked their food and service, and after doing a LOT of research on what was available in Jacksonville, I decided to go with them. I was not disappointed. I think nearly half of my guests commented to me that evening that it was the best food that they've ever had at a wedding, and I totally agree. Win! Not only was the food great, the staff were very professional and friendly to all of my guests, they even brought some hors d'oeuvres down to the beach while we were getting photos taken and also put some aside for my husband and myself. They were very detail oriented and the market and dessert displays looked beautiful. They also cleaned up everything so well that it looked almost as if no one had been in the kitchen. Having a tasting was great, and it gave us a lot of confidence that we made the right choice. They were very flexible with the menu and also very affordable. I can honestly say if you are having a party, wedding, whatever, and you want to have amazing food while impressing your guests without breaking the bank, you should look no further than The Perfect Pair.

I can not say enough about Rachel, Danielle, and the entire staff from Perfect Pear Catering! From the very beginning they were extremely professional and easy to work with. I must have changed my menu at least a dozen times and they were so easy going through it all. They worked with me to stay in my budget and still I had everything I wanted! Danielle was extremely responsive the entire time. On the wedding day everything was PERFECT! I received so many compliments not only on the food, but the presentation and the staff as well. The servers at our reception were so helpful and made our guests feel very comfortable. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for making my wedding everything I could have hoped for and more!

I can't say enough for this outstanding catering company! I strongly suggest that you do a tasting prior to the event.....the food is unusual and delicious. We found Rachel to be helpful and responsive to our thoughts and desires. The staff that came to set-up and serve were professional but warm and fun to have in our home. I feel the value for cost is extremely high....our guests very much enjoyed the outstanding choices and the variety. We planned for 87 guests and our event was in our home. No worries if you choose this fabulous caterer.

We had a small snafu with the amount of food. About half of our wedding guests did not receive the entree. There wasn't much the caterer could do about it during the event, which was my only (minor) complaint about the flexibility. However, the service was phenomenal and the food was amazing! Also, Rachel contacted us promptly to discuss the issue with us and refunded us for the food we did not receive. If it weren't for that minor problem, I would give Perfect Pear 5/5 and I definitely recommend them for any event! The food tasted wonderful and they were more than willing to work within our budget. The displays were gorgeous, and the service was better than we expected.

My daughter was married in my yard, which in itself, increases the difficulty of the job for a caterer. In addition, there were vegan, paleo, gluten free guests and children. Anne at the Perfect Pear met all needs and expectations with grace, professionalism and good humor. Her team was efficient, respectful and very friendly. It even seemed they were enjoying themselves. The venue was spread out. The serving tasks were numerous and varied - butlered happy hour, full dinner buffet, champagne pouring & cake service. They took over my kitchen without disruption or mess. The food was amazing and the price very reasonable. All were very happy with The Perfect Pear.

This was my first experience with Perfect Pair, but it will not be my last. Anne M. was thorough, organized and extremely helpful. She helped me plan the luncheon menu, and her suggestions were excellent. She knew I was trying to accommodate a variety of dietary needs, and so her ideas and offerings provided a great meal. I highly recommend the spring rolls, tenderloin and salmon appetizers, as well the Key Lime shooters. Her prices were reasonable, and the quantity of food was perfect. Everything arrived on time, and was displayed beautifully. Anne also provided me with lots of reassurance that all would go well with this event...and she was right. I can't say enough about this company. First of all, the food......we are "foodies", and very discriminating about what we fed our guests. Well, everyone was raving. The Pork Roulade was heavenly, the signature salad, to die for. Short Ribs were also a big hit. But even as great as the food was, the service on the day of our wedding was above and beyond all expectations. Bethany was at my side as the bride every few minutes, bringing me appetizers during pictures, drinks, and even a bit of something sweet when I felt a little faint. When I was nervous, she said exactly what I needed to hear. She became an instant family member that night. Above that, when my bar service ran out of ice, and refused to go get more.......Perfect Pear stepped up and went and bought the ice. Unbelievable. To be perfectly honest in this review, I must say the only thing I found slightly under par was their responsiveness to phone calls leading up to the wedding. There was more than one occasion where I needed to talk to someone and it would be a few days before I could get someone to respond. If they can work that out, they would be top notch. In spite of that one thing,.....I would hire them for any other event hands down. Wouldn't even consider anyone else!

Perfect Pear Catering did our reception on April 5th. The presentation of the food was excellent. I had a beach themed wedding and the food was presented in a way to march my overall wedding decor. We also received many compliments on the food, specifically the pecan encrusted fish. The severs were on their toes severing appetizers and ensuring the guests were well taken care of. Overall, it was an excellent experience! I would recommend Perfect Pear catering for your special event.

Rachel and her team were absolutely fabulous. From the prompt answering of emails, to the tasting, to the actual wedding day - everything was great. Food was amazing, we had a brunch wedding - and everyone raved about the food, especially the baked brie and mango chicken salad. The staff was willing to work with my specific wedding decor and assured that their presentation was accommodating. We also used their bar-tending service, which was also excellent. I would definitely recommend The Perfect Pear to others, and will be using them for my catering needs in the future!

Their spreads for cocktail hour were beautiful. The food was very delicious and I believed they were reasonably priced. I would use them again if I ever needed them and would definitely recommend them.

Rachel's attention to detail, presentation and delightlful seasonal menu choices combined with the top notch taste was unsurpassed by any other caterer I had considered. Combine all of these factors with the great value for everything The Perfect Pear included for my daughter's wedding, made the thought of using any other a moot point.

My duaghter and I sampled the menu choices of two other caterers, but none were close to comparision--an exceptional choice for any event that warrants the need of employing a caterer. Five stars by not only my daughter and I, but the guests would concur too.

Perfect Pear created a wonderful custom menu for our wedding, and the food was delicious! We also had a fairly complicated set-up having the ceremony and reception in the same place, but the team did a great job pulling everything together.

Out of This World Appetizers

My husband and I are foodies, so we wanted awesome food...but that wouldn't break the bank. The Perfect Pear came up in my searches and was referred to me by other vendors. When we did our tasting, the staff wasn't particularly warm, but do you need that in a caterer? The appetizers (including a steak and cherry crostini) blew us out of the water. Sold! We tried the steak and fish - and dare I say, the Parmesan Crusted Fish was the best fish I'd ever eaten. We weren't impressed with the desserts - everything tasted flat - and wanted people to eat cake anyway. They were great with us changing items throughout the planning process and offered to help with rentals/delivery. When I emailed them to confirm my count/get a final invoice, I didn't hear back from them for some time. Finally I asked my wedding planner to reach out - they had never received my email, which I found odd, since we had been communicating via email previously. Day of, they graciously saved my husband and I some appetizers to eat before dinner since we were busy during cocktail hour, but by that time they were lukewarm and stale. The steak and cherry crostini I loved at the tasting didn't seem to have any cherry on it at all. The steak was RARER than RARE - difficult to cut even. The fish seemed tough (is that possible?) and bland. All of my guests raved about it though! The owner was also gracious enough to offer me a partial refund after the event, as one of the servers did not show up to the event (I hadn't even noticed)! I recommend them to anyone looking for good value for a pretty good meal - they have lots of options to choose from!

Cold Meals

Unfortunately, the dinner from Perfect Pear was the only thing that wasn’t perfect about my daughter’s wedding. We booked them several months in advance, attended a tasting, which was very good, and had them present at the walk-through of the venue to ensure that they knew what they were working with. We opted for an upscale, plated dinner of filet and mahi, which was quite an upcharge.

To my complete embarrassment every one of our 120 dinners was served to the guests completely cold. When I took my first bite, I looked around and was mortified. My husband and I checked with a few other tables to find their food cold as well. It was dried out like it had been sitting around. My husband and I relayed our dissatisfaction with the chef/owner twice. The only reply we received was that the food was hot when it left the kitchen.

Fortunately, our venue had cameras capturing the entire plating process which showed all 120 meals being plated outside, uncovered, and unheated. The first set of plates sat in this condition for 17 minutes, and the last set of plates sat out for 35 minutes. My husband and I were mingling, so we received some of the last plates served and let me tell you, it was awful. I took two bites and then stormed back to the kitchen.

The worst part of this experience was that we purposely chose the higher-end package in order to provide our guests with the best possible meal. Again, I can’t express how embarrassed we are.

We tried to enjoy the rest of my daughter’s special night, but contacted the owners again the next day expecting reimbursement for the plated dinners which alone cost us $5,000. They apologized, tried to blame the venue, the wedding coordinator, and our timeline. They had the timeline days in advance and were familiar with the venue, and ultimately are the ones responsible for their food and service. They offered us a laughable $400. I wish this site would allow for posting the videos showing the unsanitary plating process that they used.

I can’t express enough dissatisfaction for this company for ruining what should have been a perfect event. I understand that every business can have a bad day, but when it is your event and something as important as a wedding, you expect your venders to give it their all and stand by their service. This was definitely not the case in our experience.

The caterer's service was unacceptable. Our contract specified that we would have 7 servers. Yet, while the main course was being served, only 2 servers were on the floor. The dinners were served randomly amongst tables, rather than fully serving one table at atime causing the guests to have to wait sometimes for 15 minutes until everyone was served. The caterer claimed that each server had 3 tables, yet we only saw the same 2 servers serving all of the tables.
The food was scarce, only 4 spears of asperagus, one 2" x 2" crumb of bread per person, and several of the filet mignon's were the size of a tablespoon. At the end of the night, the caterer dumped the leftover cake like garbage into a cake box and handed it to the groom's mother. The final bill showed inconsistancies in prices previously quoted to us in the estimate. The caterer had just 1 1/2 month's ealier tried to bill us for the rental of 15 silver bread baskets and 6 silver pitchers for around $300. We said we didn't want them. When I asked for the caterer to send me a copy of the china and linen rental bill after the wedding, the silver baskets and pitcher were still on the bill, but the rental cost was only $84. It seems like the caterer was trying to drive up the bill just before the wedding. I would not recommend this caterer.

The Perfect Pear Catering's reply:

The Perfect Pear Catering Company has been working with the Better Business Bureau (an impartial third party) to resolve the issues presented by Lynne for the better part of two months. After hours of work gathering materials to counter each of Lynne's complaints the Better Business Bureau decided in favor of The Perfect Pear Catering Company stating "The Perfect Pear Catering Company has provided sufficent proof that they did in fact satisfy all of the requirements listed in the signed contract with Lynne Horst. We find no reason to continue this case further. The case is now closed and The Perfect Pear Catering Company is currently in good standing with the Better Business Bureau Northeast Chapter".
As the owner of The Perfect Pear Catering Company I consider guest satisfaction to be of utmost importance and is not something that is taken lightly or ignored by myself or my staff! I am very upset with Lynne's allegations and have worked diligently with the Northeast Chapter of the Better Business Bureau to resolve this issue with Mrs. Horst. In response to Lynne's claims I can only say that I am certain that myself and my staff did everything in our power to ensure that Mrs. Horst and her guests were provided with delicious food and exceptional service as is our standard on each and every event we produce! I am truely sorry if Mrs. Horst did not see it this way...
In closing I would like to provide a quote from a letter of recommedation that I received from the Grooms father shortly after this event took place...
"The Perfect Pear Catering Company�s ability and professionalism was evident through out the wedding day. Although time lines were planned delays were encountered due to the travel distance between the Church and reception venue, and post ceremony pictures required by the photographer. The caterer masterfully managed the delays ensuring the hors d�oeuvres were continually offered during the extended delays, yet the main course was promptly served on demand, with out diminishment. [I] heard no negative comments concerning any of the dishes including the vegetarian option. Although invitees were asked in advance to choose their dinner, it seemed apparent that the caterer was willing to adjust within reason to people making last minute change requests.The Perfect Pear Catering Company�s professionalism, approachability, and flexibility are of the highest quality and I most heartedly recommend them for any event, but most notably weddings.
