Jan was amazing and my dress turned out perfect. No detail was overlooked. I would recommend her to any bride, and will be using her for any gown alterations in the future.

My daughter had her wedding gown altered in St. Louis by a "reputable" seamstress who specializes in wedding gowns. The results were horrid! The front bodice turned out instead of lying flat to her chest. The hem was uneven and not trimmed or under-stitched. The bustle was awful! See pictures below- Jan to the rescue! Jan was able to redo all that was done without my daughter there to try it on. Beautiful results!! Also it was done within two weeks of the wedding!! Thanks, Jan
Price for alteration in St. Louis was $ 100.00 more than Jan charged!!

I met Jan at one of the bridal shows in Springfield. She is very friendly and informative! She definitely knows her stuff! We had at least 4-5 face to face meetings over the course of a few months. She was always flexible with her timing as my schedule was not very convenient. I also had to bring along my rambunctious 4 year old & she has the patience of a saint! As for the alterations, Jan’s work is outstanding! She has to completely redo a bustle, previous alterations, & a TON of beading as my wedding dress I brought to her was bought used & worn by one previous bride. She also cleaned it before redoing the beading. I couldn’t tell it was dirty, but my dress sure did sparkle after her soak! The bustle was amazing!! My dress weighed every bit of 40lbs with the amount of beading on it and the bustle held up to that weight perfectly! I’m a pretty busty woman & my biggest concern was ensuring the “girls” were contained and secure in my strapless dress. Jan surely delivered, the dress fit like a glove! We had also bought a bridesmaid dress for my step daughter that needed alterations in less than a week! The company we bought it from, didn’t tell me that the delivery date would be mere days prior to our wedding. Jan got us in within days of the wedding to do a fitting and had the dress done in a day or two. It also fit perfectly! The entire process was simple and very comfortable. Jan does beautiful work and is absolutely amazing to work with!

As a plus size bride I was overwhelmed and almost horrified at my vast selection of dresses, but nothing fit exactly what I wanted. I found a poofy dress that was the color and fabric that I liked but needed TONS of alterations and changes. A friend suggested Jan to me, and I will be forever grateful. She understands the body and knows how the fit should be. She also had some really cool outside the box ideas for additions to the dress that I had never thought of, or even seen on another dress before. She did an amazing job and I refer everyone I know to her! You can not only trust that she will make your garment fit you impeccably but also trusting her with “the dress” was never in question. Thank you for making my wedding dress dreams a reality Jan!

Wow - Jan was incredible!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! after another alterations shop in St. Louis totally butchered the hem and bustle on my wedding dress, we took it to Jan and she walked us through everything that needed to happen and had it fixed in a few days!! We were so excited and relieved, and wish we would have gone to her first! Incredible job, she saved the day - thank you Jan!!!

Jan did the alterations for my dress as well as 3 of the bridesmaids dresses and my mom's dress. All of the work was fantastic and work was done quickly. She was very flexible with our schedules as well. She is a wonderful and fun lady!

My daughter got married and lived out of town. Jan not only went out of her way to accommodate our schedule she even came out on an icy day. She did a wonderful job on the alterations as well as making a veil for her and cleaning her dress after the weeding. My daughter looked beautiful and was not worried about how her dress would turn out because she knew it was in good hands. I will go back to her for alterations anytime I need them. I won't allow anyone else to ever touch a dress for alterations after working with Jan. She's done 2 bridesmaid dresses and my own wedding dress. She is my go-to woman and she works MAGIC.

Jan was an absolute pleasure to work with. Several people I know had gone to her for their alterations. She had to do quite a bit of work to my wedding dress based on a misrepresentation by the business where I purchased my dress (they said it could be let out enough to fit properly, but there wasn’t a lot of material to let out-essentially they sold me a dress that was a bit too small and led me to believe that it wouldn’t be a problem to alter). Jan did an amazing job on my dress, and the bustle held perfectly throughout the entire reception. She also made a veil for me that matched my dress. I highly recommend The Perfect Fit by JK!

My dress needed to be shortened by quite a bit and JK did a great job! My dress had three layers of tulle which required a lot of work to shorten and the final result was stunning! She was also very responsive to my emails and had a quick turn-a-round with the dress. I would definitely recommend!

Jan is a very special lady who loves her line of work. Her handiwork is beautiful, and she should be charging much more for her services. After being told by two other shops that my dress could not be properly altered, Janice made it happen in a very reasonable time and for a very reasonable price. I had a very detailed dress with lots of beading and wanted it very form fitting. The Perfect Fit literally mad my dress the perfect fit. I LOVED my dress and loved the way it looked on me. Everyone that attended the wedding raved on my dress as well!!! I would recommend this place to anyone. Not only was the work perfection, and the service on spot, but the pricing I thought was extremely reasonable as well!!!

Jan has done my families alterations for several weddings and events and she is fantastic. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Jan was AMAZING!!! My wedding dress was fairly intricate with quite a bit of beading and lace. Since I am only 5'2", my dress was MILES too long for me. Jan took all of the beading off of the bottom of the dress, took it up several inches, and then put the beading all back on- and it looked as if it had never been touched! Jan also brought the sides and chest area in several inches, and again, it looked absolutely perfect. The dress fit like a glove for the entire day- through the ceremony, lots of pictures, dinner and hours of dancing.

Jan was SOOO easy to work with! She was extremely flexible in her hours and is a genuine, incredible, and hilarious person. She wanted everything to be just perfect for me, and it definitely was! I would HIGHLY recommend Jan to anyone looking for alterations!!! I look forward to using her again in the future for other possible formal alterations for either myself or friends.

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Jan at The Perfect Fit. She did an amazing job on my bridesmaid dress. My dress needed major reconstruction to make it fit right. Jan took the time to fit me and refit to make it fit properly. She basically had to rebuild my whole dress. She did all of this on a flexible schedule and at a great price. I appreciate the patience and professionalism she had to make me look wonderful for my sisters special wedding day.

Jan was absolutely wonderful! I loved my wedding dress on the hanger, but she ensured that I love the dress on ME! I would recommend Jan to anyone. She worked around my schedule, which is not an easy thing for an out-of-state bride. Her knowledge of her craft is honestly immeasurable and it SHOWS in the quality of her work. She always had a smile on her face and we had so much fun at each fitting. I will 100% use Jan for any and all work I need done in the future.

Jan was absolutely fabulous and immediately made me feel super comfortable- which is important when trusting someone to alter your wedding dress! My dress was completely beaded and fitted- which I assume is not the easiest for a seamstress? But Jan didn't even flinch! Even when I called 2 weeks before the big day and needed a few extra inches taken in- she had the dress back to me with 48 hours! Thanks again, Jan!!

Jan altered all of the dresses for my daughter's wedding including the mother of the bride dress. She did an amazing job on my daughter's wedding dress. Her bustle was perfect and she looked absolutely beautiful! One of the bridesmaids had to have extensive alterations done to her dress and it turned out great. Very accomodating with our schedules since some of the wedding party were out of town. And the best part was she was very reasonably priced compared to the bridal shops.

Jan took the time to make our needs fit into her schedule. Whether it was coming to my office for a fitting or arranging for my out of town daughter to get in an adjustment in between travel & other commitments, Jan found a way to make it work for us. Jan was unphased when asked to replace a dress full of sequins with assorted beads. It took a lot of time and patience. She did a wonderful job. JK set up thier new shop in the middle of our dress alterations. It is a lovely accomodation with plenty of space & nicely decorated. I would recommend Jan to anyone looking for someone to do formal alterations. :)

I met Jan at a bridal expo about 8 months before my big day and thank God I did! I liked everything about my dress- it was the right price, the right color and the right style. There was just one problem: it was far from the right size. (To put it simply, I was swimming in it.) Jan was not only wonderful to work with/incredibly accommodating to my schedule: she completely transformed my gown and made me love it for the first time. I spent a lot of time being sick over my dress. I wouldn't even tell people my plans for fear it would hurt too badly when I couldn't make them become reality. I came to Jan with my mother's 40 year old wedding dress--badly treated by a restoration business, yellowed, and an embarrassing number of sizes too small. She was the first one who made me feel like it could happen for me! Our very first meeting she cut off the beadwork for me so I could take them home and soak them in quilt soap to whiten them (Orvus brand-amazing). She made the necessary alterations flawlessly and even took the dated collar of the dress and placed the beading on top of my shoulders for me--giving it my own little touch yet still keeping the integrity of the original. Jan is sweet and real and funny. You will really like working with her! I also think she loves what she does... and that goes a long long wayy.

I went to The Perfect Fit by JK for two separate bridesmaid dresses and they turned out perfectly!! Jan made the appointments based on my schedule and was very flexible. I highly recommend The Perfect Fit by JK! I trust my dresses with her and will be going back for future alterations.

Jan did an amazing job on my dress!! It was much more affordable than I was originally thinking due to my dress being all lace and a lot of detail work. She was flexible on timing and listened to everything I was wanting out of my dress. Our wedding turned out beautiful on the beach in Florida, and now I get to wear my dress again for our reception this weekend back home with all of our friends and family! Thank you for making the dress part of the wedding process much less stressful!!

She fit me in early to see what all needed to be done with the dress. I bought my dress off the rack and needed some work done. she told me what all she can do with the dress, considering there where some people who wouldnt touch it without paying tons of money because it is lace.... she told me everything would be well below my estimated budget and i am so excited to see her again!! I have told everyone in the wedding to go to her for alterations!!

I could not have found a more perfect person to fix my dress. Jan did what several others told me could not be done. My dress was bought off the rack at a size 20 and I am about a size 14 in bridal gowns. She totally transformed the dress without losing any pieces of why I first fell in love with it. She worked with me and worked with the dress to make sure I was perfectly happy. It had tricky bead work on the top and rouching with a bubble bottom and she was able to make ALL of it work. Her work was stunning and no one would ever know that my dress did not fit at all! Thank you so much for making my dreams come true!

Jan was very professional and very helpful. We had three fittings to make sure the dress fit perfectly on and she finished my dress in a timely manner. Overall, she did an amazing job and would definitely recommend her to anyone needing alterations.

My summer of weddings was made so much more special by Jan's magic touch on bridesmaid dress alterations. I brought Jan three dresses for three separate weddings and each time I reached out she got back to me extremely fast (and one was with extremely short notice). If you need something done, Jan will make it happen, and she will do it very well. Jan fixes what the retail dress stores' alterations services cannot get right. She has years of experience, is very professional, and is an aboslute delight to work with. I had such a good experience at the Perfect Fit by JK that I referred two friends to her, one was for a wedding dress that the dress shop couldn't get right. Jan listens to the customer's needs and gives honest feedback. My friend came in for the alterations and Jan noticed that the bustle was not configured correctly. Jan knew the wedding was coming up and fixed the bustle for no extra charge added to the alteration. I don't expect her to do this every time (fixing things for free is not good for business), but it just speaks to the kind of person Jan is. She truly cares about her customers and wants to make each event she is a part of as special as possible. Jan is wonderful to work with and I highly recommend her services to anyone who expects a high degree of professionalism, level of service, quality, and value when looking into alterations. Jan is the best!

I needed a lot of work done on my wedding dress. JK was always quick to respond and meet my expectations. The bustle of my dress was disappointing, but all in all had a wonderful experience
