Dream venue!
The Parador was a dream come true! Our February wedding was absolutely beautiful. We lucked out with weather and had the ceremony outside. Transitions to Cocktail hour and dinner were seamless, and guests were able to roam the space and enjoy all the beautiful details. The building and grounds are so beautiful you barely need to decorate. Pictures came out absolutely gorgeous as there are so many pockets of beauty at this venue. Highly recommend! -

Hidden gem!
The Parador was the perfect venue for our wedding! It was the first and only venue that we toured in person and was love at first sight! Even though it was cold and rainy on our day-of, The Parador has such a great indoor contingency that we didn't feel like we missed out and were able to take some photos in the gardens in between rain showers - the best of both worlds! The venue directors, Stacey and Sheila, were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. We had around 125 guests and everything felt very comfortably spaced. My husband and I were trying to find a venue that has a church vibe but also could hold a reception. The Parador had it! We fell in love from the start when we walked in. We spoke with Stacey and she was hospitable and gave us the best tips on how to be budget friendly. Sheila was fabulous to work with as well! They have selected wonderful caterers to work with (we went with Cordua and highly recommend them! Darla was amazing to work with!) to make your wedding or event the hit of the year/lifetime! There is a beautiful garden outside to either have your ceremony or take pictures...the Parador has everything you need or look for! :) We really loved working with Sheila & Stacey too! They were both so down to Earth, taking care of business, but also building a friendship. :) Thank you both for allowing us to have our wedding at your venue! It was an honor! :) :) :) -

Fantastic Experience!
The Parador could not have been a more perfect venue for our son’s recent wedding. With its idyllic setting in the heart of Houston’s museum district, this historic building has all the appointments of a 5-star hotel while at the same time providing an intimate atmosphere for the most romantic of events. The staff could not have been more accommodating, with no small detail left to chance. The coordination between the Parador staff and our catering team was seamless; and we were left to relax and enjoy the day. We were most impressed with the efficiency and demeanor of the entire Parador team and would highly recommend this venue to our friends and family.

I recently had my wedding reception at the Parador and it was amazing! The space is so beautiful and exactly what we wanted. The inside space has a breathtaking dome ceiling, exposed wood and beautiful tile floors. The outside garden area is what really sealed the deal for us. Our wedding was in February and I was worried about what the garden would like in the winter, but it was beautiful!
All catering and day-of coordination is done through Behind the Bash - my contact was Christina Cross, who was an absolute angel!
Since the Parador is a historic landmark, they do have restrictions on what sort of activities you can do when you are leaving (i.e. no sparklers), but that was an easy condition to work around!
I would absolutely recommend the Parador!

Can't say enough good things about the Parador and my day of coordinator Christina. The venue is beautiful first off and looks amazing inside in out (in person and in photos). Also, It's been a month since our wedding and people are still commenting on how good the food was. Behind the Bash was fantastic for food and for day of coordination. I asked what felt like 10million questions and Christina always helped me out. She was amazing and the day was perfect! I'm SO glad we did our ceremony and reception there..it was something different from your typical hotel/country club scene and we loved it! -

We just loved the Parador! Beautiful venue. Elegant and classic. Everyone was helpful and responsive. Their catering was phenomenal too. All of our guests were very impressed with the quality of the venue. Very accessible, close to downtown Houston. Easy access, plenty of parking, well maintained. Nice bridal room. We just can't say enough good things! -

I had my wedding at the Parador recently and I am so glad we chose this venue! This venue is gorgeous! We fell in love with all the historical details and the beautiful garden in the back. The rental also comes with tables, chairs, silverware, linens, easels, table numbers, free tasting soiree, centerpieces (if you decide to use them), and most importantly...an event coordinator!
The venue also requires use of their catering service, Behind the Bash. Our coordinator, Christina, with Behind the Bash, was awesome. Throughout the whole process, she was very responsive to emails and flexible with last minute changes. She went above and beyond to make our day special and less stressful. All my guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had! The overall cost (venue and food) may be a little high for some, but I felt it was definitely reasonable and worth what you get. I would definitely recommend this vendor!

An absolutely gorgeous venue. We were lucky enough to have sunny 80 degree weather in April for an absolutely beautiful outdoor ceremony.
Houston weather isn't always trustworthy and this venue was one of the very few in Houston that would host our guest count and also offer an indoor (inclement weather) ceremony option that was just as beautiful as the outdoor option.
The Parador has a relationship with Behind the Bash catering that are also fab.

Absolutely loved working with The Parador, Sheila was great and Rebekah from Behind the Bash was wonderful! The venue was gorgeous on its own, but even more amazing once all of my wedding visions were added in for the big day. The facility is large in my opinion and I loved the fact that you get the whole facility when renting it out. The garden is beautiful as well, unfortunately it rained on my wedding day but they would be perfect for pictures. -

We recently had our wedding and reception at The Parador. I fell in love with the beautiful architecture and loved the history behind the venue. It was early spring but the weather ended up being fantastic and we were able to utilize the gorgeous garden for our cocktail hour.
I can not rave enough about Rebekah with Behind the Bash, she is quite the pro at coordinating the event from start to finish. She helped keep the evening running smoothly, including a room flip! I originally had reservations about a room flip between the ceremony and reception, however Rebekah and her team made the process seamless. They were extremely helpful and made me feel at complete ease during the event.
I highly recommend this fantastic venue and wonderful Behind the Bash team! You will be in excellent hands with this seasoned crew.

The venue is beautiful, I was supposed to have an outdoor ceremony, but due to weather they shifted it inside. It was very nice nonetheless. They were able to flip the room for the reception, the room looked completely different! Me and my husband had an amazing time, we will cherish the memory forever! Thank you, Parador! -

Love The Parador! We were very pleased with the Parador. We love that everything was inclusive; table, chairs, wedding coordinator, etc. The bride and groom lived in Boston, The mother of the bride lived in Dallas and they made it as easy as possible for us. Everything turned out great. -

What a beautiful venue!! We wanted something a little different with a bit of history. The Parador was a perfect fit. The building and gardens are amazing!! WOW! Our original venue (Bella Terrazza) closed down unexpectedly after Hurricane Ike and we had 6 wks to find a new venue. We always knew about The Parador but were trying to save a little money by using the all-in-one venue (using their vendors). Lesson learned: you get what you pay for! I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but it's family owned and operated and I only dealt w/ 2 women and they always knew who I was when I called. I cannot tell you how many guests later told us that it was the best venue they've ever seen. I promise, it's worth every penny on the rental fee (which is one of the least expensive in Houston) AND, don't let the fact that tables, chairs etc. aren't included. Several caterers provide them at a nominal cost. At the end of the day, we spent a little more on the wedding than what we planned, but I would do it all over again if I got to use the Parador!

The Parador was fabulous!!! The place was gourgeous! It totally made the reception. Everyone loved the outdoor courtyard for cocktails and the spaciousness of the building! It was perfect. The high ceilings are beautiful and everyone loved it! -

The Parador was amazing. I had narrowed my choices down to two venues and I let my husband choose. I was a little worried because you only get the facility with the rental. However, all of our vendors were excellent and they were able to bring out the beauty of this venue. When I walked down the aisle the Parador lighting was amazing. I looked at the architechure of the building and it took my breath away. It was unique and totally different. All of our guests were blown away by its beauty. Our wedding was so magical and the parador was a huge element in making that happen. Sheila Wells also catered to our needs as much as she could. -

The Parador was the perfect place for our Spring wedding. The gardens were in full bloom for our ceremony. We didn't even have to add any extra florals to the garden. It was gorgeous as is!
Sheila was great to work with for our wedding/reception. She was always quick to respond to our questions. We wanted to webcast our wedding for my groom's grandmother who was unable to travel, and Sheila and her team went above and beyond to help us make it happen.
When you book The Parador, catering is provided by Behind the Bash. They were great to work with as well. Our coordinator Rebekah was on top of things and I was totally able to relax and enjoy my day. Everything at the Parador was smooth from start to finish. It is a wonderful venue if you are looking for a great venue in Houston with an outstanding staff! -

Beautiful venue – my husband and I were really happy with the Parador. The Parador has a lot of character, and the architecture makes for gorgeous photos. I love the color of the Parador’s walls – the pinkish/tawny color really makes your dress pop (I’ve found that venues with white or cream colored walls cause the wedding dress to blend into the walls in photos). Your photographers can get really creative with photos thanks to the different indoor and outdoor spaces, and the Parador’s many arches and lovely doorways make for great natural “frames.” The bridal suite is large and well furnished and the groom’s suite has this stunning blue Mediterranean tile. We had our ceremony in the garden, which was beginning to look quite lush by the time of our wedding (late March). The garden is taken care of quite well, and is charmingly lit at night. As an added plus, guests have free parking right next to the venue.
For the reception, we had our bar and photo lounge set up in one of the nooks by the window, which was great because guests could see the dance floor at all times. The buffet set up in the cloister worked wonderfully. We loved that the venue was spacious, but felt full and intimate even with only 100 guests.
A few caveats – a few planes flew overhead during the ceremony (likely because of the Parador’s proximity to Hobby Airport), which drowned out the mic, but this wasn’t a huge deal. You can also hear the cars on 288, but, again, you don’t really notice this at all. A huge storage building recently popped up across the street from the Parador, which doesn’t make for the prettiest backdrop (though guests face the opposite way during the ceremony), but we asked our photographers in advance to try to avoid capturing the building in photos.
Lastly, Behind the Bash is the only catering option for the Parador, but we have nothing but great things to say about BTB! -

The Parador was the PERFECT venue to my wedding this winter. The staff were extremely professional and helpful from our initial meeting until the big day. I cannot say enough about how beautiful this venue is. Our garden ceremony was everything I have ever dreamt of and the reception hall is stunning, with the architectural details. At the time of our wedding, the only catering option was Behind the Bash. And although, a bit pricey, they were worth every penny. The food was delicious and the service even better! You get a day-of coordinator that took care of last minute details days before the wedding and seamlessly led the rehearsal and wedding alike. Jenene was our coordinator and she was FABULOUS! I never doubted that our wedding would be anything but perfect with her handling the details. Not only do I highly recommend having your wedding at The Parador, but I would strongly recommend using Behind the Bash as well. -

I was married at the Parador 5 days ago, and could not have been more pleased with the venue. Sheila and her team did an amazing job at making me feel at ease, answering all of my questions, and pulling off a fantastic event. If you are looking for a venue that has indoor and outdoor space in the middle of Houston, this is the place. Our wedding had around 165 guests and there was plenty of space for everyone to sit, mingle and dance without feeling squished. The building is beautiful, especially on the inside, and the courtyard in the back is stunning. All of our guests commented on what a great venue the Parador was and what a fantastic time they had. I would highly recommend the Parador for a wedding. -

We spent so much time reviewing venues. We wanted an outdoor space and the Parador has an amazing garden. We also wanted a good inside backup in case it rained on our wedding day. (Luckily we had one, because it poured!). The interior of the Parador is just as breath taking. Not only did our guests not notice, they all were blown away by the place. The staff and service was very accommodating and did a great job! Oh, and we really wanted our pup in the wedding and when we realized it was going to rain I was worried he might not be allowed indoors but they were very flexible! And they have a nice building in back that all the girls can get ready in which was great! We highly recommend the Parador. -

The Parador is great for those who are looking for venues near the Museum District. You get the most of your money as you get to utilize the whole space, and not just any particular room, like hotels. The value for Sunday weddings are great - half of a Saturday weddings. -

This is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The location is centrally located in the Houston Museum District. The building is 90+ years old and beautiful on the inside. There is flexibility of having the wedding ceremony either inside or outside. We had about 130 people at our wedding and it was very comfortable. I would imagine it would hold 200 comfortably.
We are very happy in choosing the Parador as our wedding venue. -

The Parador is absolutely gorgeous and was a perfect place for both the ceremony and the reception. The gardens were blooming and the weather was wonderful. Since our wedding was relatively small and we did not have a buffet, we only rented the Duomo and it was a great size for us. We had our ceremony and cocktails in the garden, but I'm not sure that more than 125 could be seated in the garden.The manager, Sheila, is easy to work with and the food from Behind the Bash was incredible. (When we booked, they had an approved list of caterers, but since then BTB is now the only caterer.) My only hesitation was that we felt that the rental price was a little high considering that the only thing included is use of the facility, but we decided to go for it anyway because we loved the location. -

Classical Garden Wedding
The Parador is a perfect place if you would like a classical, elegant garden wedding. Our guests complimented us on our choice as the building itself is quite breathtaking. Doesn't need much decor except maybe some flowers here and there as it is very beautiful. Sheila Wells was very prompt and professional as we coordinated from out of state and was great to work with. Day of wedding went well although they forgot to put the outside candle package but this was quickly remedied before the guests arrived. We had a wonderful time! -

I wanted a place that was different. A place that was unique. The Parador was just that. It does not require much additional decoration as it is beautiful in itself. Their exclusive catering group, Behind the Bash, helps bring out the beauty with their candle decorations on each table and throughout the building. I only added rose petals to the tables and it was elegant.
Our guests and family enjoyed a cocktail reception on the side and then opened up to the larger room for the dinner and reception where we were introduced. Everything was perfect. It is easy to find. Parking is easy. There is an outside garden if the weather is right for it. They even have a place for the bride and groom to hide away for a minute, have a snack, bustle up your dress, and breathe in the moment before diving into the excitement of the reception.
My only suggestion would be to do as we did and bring a reed diffuser or candle for the bathrooms. They are old, so they can have a slight odor to them.
It is a beautiful old church happy to play host to your very special day. -

This is the most beautiful place in the city. The only downsides are the cost and the flexbility. Since the Parador is a historical building they are quite costly and are very particular about the vendors you use - however, their limited prefered vendor list made planning very easy, as all of their vendor recommendations were top notch. -

The Parador was a beautiful venue for my wedding and was reasonably priced. It has a very unique architecture that really makes a statement. They include chairs, tables, and linens, which really cuts down on costs. However, they have a limited list of approved caterers and will not let you stray from that list (we specifically asked and they said no). Unfortunately, those caterers range from expensive to really really expensive. They also only have one approved vendor for alcohol. The alcohol vendor ultimately did a good job at the wedding and were affordable; however, they were incredibly hard to get in contact with and then blamed us for not contacting them sooner even though we had left them several messages. -

Very good to work with. No real problems except that one of our vendors did not have an insurance policy that could afford to sign their vendor agreement contract. And it was the cake vendor who would have almost no opportunity to cause the venue any destruction. She was a bit distressed about the entire thing and I do not entirely blame her.

The Venue is beautiful, however it all comes with a cost.
2 weeks before our wedding we where informed that the person who had been helping us for the past 9 mo. would not be there on our wedding day.
We had always been told that if we wanted to purchase an extra hour that there would not be an issue. We had a very large wedding. In our party we had 20 people, not to mention about 300 guests. They did not mention time to us until we only had 30min till our event was supposed to end. At that time I had not even gotten to dance with my grandfather, or done the dollar dance, our dance part of the reception was only about 45min. We asked if we could purchse an extra hour, & we where told no that it had to be done in advance. This was the 1st time anyone had ever said that to us. I was already very upset by this, then after the fact they charged us for an extra hour which obviously we didn't stay for. -

The Parador is a magical and beautiful venue and we were so excited for our daughter to have her wedding reception there. So it is with great sadness that I have to leave this unpleasant review. Our parador wedding coordinator on the day and night of the wedding was rude, unhelpful and totally inflexible. This caused the job of our wedding planner and florist to be unnecessarily difficult. Had Sheila been there, it might have gone smoother and we would have gotten the service we deserved and expected and paid for. At the end of this evening, I was so upset and disappointed and therefore, I cannot recommend the parador for your wedding venue. Although we paid a lot extra for lighting in the gardens, We did not get to use the gardens at all due to stormy weather so don't pay for that if bad weather is coming. Behind the Bash, their designated caterer, provided an excellent meal and great bar service. My only complaint is the appetizers which were much smaller and not as good as the ones at the "formal tasting". We managed to overcome the poor attitude of the parador representative and have a great time and fortunately, the bride and groom and guests were unaware of our difficulties. -

Our wedding was reception only at the parador. The venue is lovely, although we added some extra table linens. We asked a million questions of Rebekah as we planned but our appetizers were very sparse(as one was not fit to serve, they said.) But we were told there would be 10 or 11 per person and we actually had max of 5 each. The appetizers were late, hence the time line was totally off. Our daughter wanted plenty of time for dancing, but that did not happen,even though we bought the extra hour because the food was so late. When we went through the line, there were no rolls or grilled vegetables. During the champagne toast, because we did not do "passed" champagne, there was not enough for all. The napkins were removed before we had cake, There was no decaf coffee. Many other little details, but this was supposed to be a caterer, in charge of food and service. Food was excellent quality, but we did not get what we paid for in quantity. Poor service, rude bartender. Rebekah said things that were simply not true.We paid for water on the table, yet there were no pitchers. Etc, etc, Beautiful venue, poor caterer. -
