If you’re looking for character and charming ambiance plus a convenient location for your wedding venue, look no further than the gorgeous Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver! After researching and visiting many other venues in the Denver area, The Oxford Hotel won us over hands down. From that first visit to the actual wedding day, Kristi Collins, Catering Sales Manager, was a delight to work with. She answered dozens of questions over many months, returned phone calls/emails promptly and was always positive and supportive. With about 150 people in attendance, we were able to use four unique hotel spaces for the wedding – the Lobby for photos, the Theater for the ceremony, the Ballroom Foyer for cocktail hour/photo booth/musicians and the Ballroom for dinner and dancing to a live band. These unique spaces flowed together beautifully and our guests were pampered and indulged by the hotel staff. The plated dinner and its presentation was exceptional -- everything went exactly as we wished. Many guests conveniently stayed at the hotel and some also took the train between DIA and Union Station which is right across from The Oxford Hotel, such an easy commute. We received countless compliments on everything from The Oxford Hotel’s gracious service to its historic artwork to its proximity to Denver nightlife. If we could give more than five stars, we would -- working with Kristi Collins and the entire Oxford Hotel staff was just wonderful!

They were a great all inclusive venue. Coordinator Kristi was very helpful in arranging everything just as we wanted. The food was delicious and we got to speak directly with the chef at the tasting to make sure the dishes served were exactly what we wanted. The renovated rooms are perfect; simple elegance that can accommodate any kind of theme you want to dress them in. Bartender and waitstaff were great too keeping good drinks and food in the hands of our guests all night.

Beautiful venue, great food, and excellent staff! Kristi helped us out tremendously with making sure that our day went off to perfection. We got married just before Christmas, so the hotel decorations and Union Station looked incredible!

I had the pleasure of working with Ashley Poettker, Wedding and Social Sales Manager, for McCormick's Catering at the historic Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver. The occasion was a rehearsal dinner August 18, 2016. Everything was perfect. We were in the Plum Room. It was immaculate and table settings beautiful. Wait staff was outstanding, quietly efficient, very polite, attentive to all of our guests. Food was prepared and presented to perfection. We had many compliments. Ashley answered my many e-mails in a timely manner, was readily available for phone calls, was sincere about working within our budget, and made very helpful, insightful suggestions. She went over the contract with me so there were no surprises. She was very flexible. This was a perfect start to a fabulous Wedding Weekend for us.
The venue is beautiful, there is attention to detail, and Ashley and her staff made everything very easy.

I had my wedding reception in The Sage Room at The Oxford hotel in January 2015! Throughout the whole process, Stephanie was amazing to work with. She is very organized and makes sure that every detail is taken care of! It was a very stress free process and the final product was amazing! The food from McCormick's was amazing and the service was top of the line! Not only was the food from McCormick's Catering great, the staff at The Oxford Hotel went the extra mile to make sure that all of our guests were taken care of! I cannot say enough good things about McCormick's or The Oxford Hotel! Our reception went very smoothly and Stephanie and her crew were the reason it was such a success! If you are looking for an exceptional venue and amazing food then this is an obvious choice! I would choose them over and over again!

Choosing The Oxford Hotel and McCormick's catering for our wedding reception was one of the best decisions that we made regarding our wedding day. My husband and I were both completing pharmacy school and had very busy schedules so we did not have much time to dedicate to planning but because Stephanie was so organized and easy to work with we didn't have to sacrifice on quality. She was very organized and made the whole planning process very easy. One of the things that we wanted for our wedding was to provide our guests with a great meal and McCormick's did just that. The food was amazing and I could not have asked for better service during the whole evening. From start to finish Stephanie worked with us to ensure that everything was just the way we wanted it. Her attention to detail is great and she was even waited on us to enter the reception room and served my husband and I our first drinks! We also had a brunch catered (which was delicious) and they worked with us to re-use the decorations from the night before. I cannot say enough good things about her and McCormicks! If I could do it all over again I would hands down choose them again! Our wedding was so elegant and the food was delicious and all of it happened with minimal effort on my husband and I's part!

The Oxford Hotel did an amazing job with booking reservations for our guests. During the wedding weekend they made sure that everyone was taken care of and were always so friendly and accommodating. Most of our guests were from out of town and absolutely loved the history that The Oxford Hotel offered and the location is also unbeatable.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend The Oxford Hotel and McCormick's catering!

The Oxford Hotel package was the BEST venue we could have possibly picked for our wedding!!! Planning was so easy because everything was contained - hotel, venue, and catering all in one! The food was amazing and all our guests thought the venue was so beautiful and elegant with market lighting. We chose the Sage Room and it was gorgeous. The service was wonderful and Stephanie Traylor with McCormack's and Patrick with The Oxford are AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you for making our special day PERFECT!!!!!!

Our wedding was held in the theater at The Oxford Hotel and it was absolutely stunning! The food was excellent and Stephanie was wonderful to work with. My husband and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!

Stephanie Traylor was an awesome event coordinator! She was so accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable. Stephanie made our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and ceremony so beautiful. And because of her planning and assistance the events moved along seamlessly - and with no effort from my husband and I. All we had to enjoy our celebrations! We enjoyed, along with our guests, the awesome Oxford Hotel accommodations; great McCormick's food; and the best guest services you could ask for. Thank you for making our events to perfect! Erin helped coordinate my entire wedding and her help was priceless! She is a class-act and a true asset leading up to the wedding. I didn't have to worry about a single thing on our day besides enjoying it.

The food is delicious! People refer to my wedding as the "one with the awesome food." If you want to leave everyone impresed by their dinner, this is a great place to host your wedding at. I recommend the brie and garlic appie plate, it was a favorite.

The customer service throughout the entire hotel is top-notch. All of our out of town guests were very pleased with the service they received and impressed with how helpful the staff was.

Overall a wonderful experience!

This is a great place for a reception. Lots of room, the chance to taste the menu and meet vendors and see the variety of choices available if not using any outside vendors. Choice of rooms for reception depending on size of group. Nice setting, nice rooms, friendly staff, good price for wedding block of rooms. I am so thankful that I chose them for our location. They continuously put my mind at ease & helped give me the wedding I had always dreamt of!

I was thrilled with the service and responsiveness we received from the Oxford Hotel. Erin Browning at the Oxford was particularly helpful and really responsive. No task was too great for Erin and she handled everything--you don't need a wedding coordinator if you book your ceremony and/or reception at the Oxford!

I would give the Oxford 10 stars if possible....but for sake of this review I will give them 5 stars. They were outstanding. They made our day special. They made us feel as if we were the only couple getting married this year. They have evereything down to a system and every detail they anticipate and if we did not have the answer....they helped us find the right vendor or right solution.

I thought the hotel, the catering and everyone associated with the hotel provided the highest level of service, they were very responsive, professional, and we had a wonderful wedding.

Erin Browning is amazing...not only did she help plan the logistics of our wedding - something that was above and beyond her role as catering and sales manager, she took the responsibitlity of calming the bride (!) and helping ease the wedding day hassles. Because of this my husband and I recommend her to EVERYONE. We even use the Oxford and McCormicks for work related events.

The Oxford was the perfect place to have a wedding. Their staff was prompt, communicative and professional. Everything was handled beyond my expections and my expectations were high. Erin was a goddess! She took care of everything. In addition to handling everything on the hotel/catering side, she also provided recommendations on other vendors. This was very helpful since we were planning the wedding long distance.

Our wedding would not have been the same if we had not had it at the Oxford Hotel. We had to move the site of our ceremony the day of our wedding due to the weather and it would not have happened without the help of Erin and all of her staff. Erin was so helpful and made the whole process stress free. The room looked amazing and the food was absolutely fantastic! Could not have asked for anything more.

The experience we had in working with the Oxford and McCormicks was great. Erin specifically helped us out so much, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Our day turned our exactly how we pictured and ran very smoothly with no stress on us.

Great staff great space

We had a ceremony and cocktails and passed appetizers in the sage room and had a room block for our guests to stay here. This place is the bomb dot com. All the staff we worked with were great and went above and beyond for us. We loved the history in the hotel!

Working with Stephanie at The Oxford was an absolute joy. She is highly professional, organized, and I was never worried about her dropping the ball on our wedding. She did a fantastic job! She made sure that everything ran smoothly and was extremely flexible about our constant room changes within the hotel. The venue was beautiful, and the price was just right for our wedding. We would highly recommend working with Stephanie!

Our only frustration came when dealing with the hotel for room blocks. McCormick's is technically separate from the The Oxford, so a different person had to book rooms for us. The woman who handled the room blocks was unresponsive, rude, and extremely difficult to work with. The per night price quoted was actually more than it cost for our family to book their rooms through the Oxford web portal. We ended up using a different hotel in downtown Denver for our room blocks and booking our rooms directly with the hotel for a lower rate.

We had our wedding at The Oxford Hotel on 10.18.14 and everything about it was great! We worked closely with Stephanie at McCormick's to plan everything from ceremony and event details to food and she was amazing! She was professional, responsive, and so easy to communicate with. She was very clear with us and always helped us find the best possible solution for any question or concern we had. The food and service the night of were great! All of our guests commented on how easy and wonderful the night went. Everything was perfect and so fun and none of it would have been as great without Stephanie!

Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to The Oxford Hotel and McCormick's Catering for making our wedding weekend unforgettable! We proudly recommend The Oxford, as our wedding reception and breakfast were superb. To highlight, the location is perfect for any downtown Denver event. It is an elegant, historic hotel near the newly designed and re-purposed Union Station. Moreover, their events coordinator, Stephanie Bohr, makes the planning process fun and easy! She is truly a pleasure to work with, sharing her knowledge and expertise, while being warm and friendly. Lastly, the food and service is of the highest quality! In fact, my father's co-worker and friend requested their sweetest wine during our cocktail hour. The server remembered this specific request (from one of our 140+ guests) and brought her another glass of the same wine during the reception! Many guests shared compliments regarding their dinner, particularly the sirloin. All in all - we enjoyed our wedding weekend and appreciated the many efforts of the entire team at The Oxford Hotel and McCormick's Catering!

*4/5 rating for responsiveness secondary to delayed responses regarding group room rates and reservations. Unfortunately, the group rates are not as competitive as elsewhere, so we provided our guests two options.

Erin Browning is a real pro. We had our reception in the Sage Room, decorated with in-house ivory linens, chair covers, and black napkins. As with most other venues, the alcohol was not cheap. The food was terrific and everything was beautifully decorated and ready for us. Highly recommend The Oxford, McCormick's Catering, and Erin Browning.

We had a wonderful experience with Erin and the entire Oxford staff. As a bride, anything we wanted or needed as part of our reception was immediately provided for. The staff and Erin did a fabulous job making everything flow from the entrance to the closing--they did such a nice job, it was like they weren't even there and everything just seemed to move naturally. The only feedback issue that i received was that people wished the doors would have opened sooner into the dining hall from the cocktail hour because it was too crowded for too long. I would recommend the extra pillar lights and chair covers; it made the venue look so fabulous! Thank you to everyone who made our wedding so special!

Erin Browning is worth having the wedding at the Oxford alone. The servicemen and the she were the best part. The wedding itself was absolutely beautiful and things could not have been more beautiful.

I just have to say, I can't imagine having anywhere else for my wedding. Erin the coordinator is amazing! She was such a joy to work with-- honest, personable, and enthusiastic. Not only did she make our wedding day amazing, she made the process of planning fun as well.

We had a vintage themed wedding, which meant a lot of extra attention to detail. Our worries were for nothing though, as the venue was beautiful and they did a wonderful job making our ideas come to life. The location is great, the hotel is wonderfully restored, and the staff was very professional. Plus McCormick's had a great menu for catering. Many of my guests said it was the most enjoyable wedding they attended, and the whole atmosphere felt like a big, gorgeous party. I would recommend the Oxford to anyone.

My husband and I wanted our wedding to be simple and classic, while also being fun for all of our guests. We chose the Oxford Hotel for many reasons: The ease of having a location being both a ceremony and reception site, being in Downtown Denver (easy for all of our out of town guests to get around), the fact that the caterer/bar service is in house, and lastly, I loved the design of the hotel. Our Wedding went off fantastically and we received many compliments on the food and service (especially the lamb shanks)...Overall, we had a great time and definitely did not second think our choice as a site.

Only two things bothered us (which we thought was pretty good). One was Christmas decorations. We were married before Thanksgiving and quite frankly did not want a Christmas Wedding. I was very disappointed and a little heart broken that the hotel was already decorated. This meant we were not able to get the pictures we wanted around the hotel and had to severely cut down on pictures being taken, less they have decorations in them...Sad. Second, there was a tip jar at the bar. This bothered us, as we were paying for this, and a tip jar seems very tacky, especially for a venue like this that is being completely paid for by the hosts.

We would recommend the Hotel as a venue, just beware of those things...

We had a great experience working with McCormick's and the Oxford Hotel for our wedding. Our coordinator, Stephanie, was extremely responsive and organized throughout the planning process and was invaluable that weekend. The food and drinks were delicious and the catering staff was great! We had a few hiccups with the Oxford (room reservations, premature Christmas decorating) but ultimately we were very satisfied with the venue (we used both the Ballroom and the Sage Room, which worked out really well and the downtown Denver location cannot be beat!). I would definitely recommend the Oxford to future brides and grooms who are looking for a classic, downtown Denver wedding venue.

We had our reception in the Ballroom at the Oxford Hotel and nearly all of our guests stayed at the hotel, as well. We chose this venue for the vintage feel. It is an AMAZING venue - beautiful hotel, great food and very competent staff. I was very pleased with how everything worked out. McCormick's, the on-site caterer for the Oxford Hotel purchased the drinks in order to serve our signature cocktail (they don't normally offer those items). Also, McCormick offers a wide selection of wine and beer, a fact that our guests positively noted. The food is delicious; all of our guests also provided positive feedback on the quality of their meals. The location of venue in the Oxford Hotel was also ideal. The Oxford Hotel it is a beautiful, classy (in the good way, not the synonym for snobby way) hotel with AMAZING staff. I can't say enough about the staff at the Oxford Hotel - they go above-and-beyond and are so friendly. And the hotel offers a special rate to guests attending the wedding with a variety of room options. The convenience also made it super easy to hire a babysitter to watch people's children during the reception; which enabled several of our guests to stay longer at the reception. The only minor issue we had during the planning stage was that we were not aware that we had to schedule a tasting 2-weeks in-advance. This was problematic because we were planning the wedding from out-of-town. But after speaking with the Catering Sales Manager, Stephanie Sadri about our concerns, McCormick's arranged for us to eat at the restaurant. We really appreciated this. If I were asked to identify anything else that we would have changed - the only other thing was that we had to devote one of our entree selections to a vegetarian option, even though only 5 of our guests chose this option. We would have preferred to have one beef, one chicken and one fish option - as well as the vegetarian option for the few individuals that required that option. But I admit this was a minor issue.

Yes, everything you read about Erin is absolutely true! She was fantastic, amazing, fun, easy, etc to work with!!! Unfortunately for the Oxford, she is no longer there. We had some hiccups along the way with the hotel aspect of things, but the catering side was wonderful. The Oxford provided everything we wanted for our wedding day - the feel, the location, the fun.

Stephanie and the McCormick's team were awesome. Event was a blast, food and service from the was great. The Oxford Hotel's service left a little to be desired -- but I have since spoken with the Director of Operations who has fixed and profusely apologized for what happened.

We had our wedding in the Grand Ballroom of the Oxford Hotel and with the exception of a minor hitch related to the menu, the celebration was beautiful, fun and easy to coordinate. Retaining much of its original 1930s art deco charm, the Oxford is a lovely little luxe hotel in Denver's LoDo district; perfectly situated next to the many cafes, eateries and bars of Union Station, it's entertaining for locals and out-of-towners alike.

The Oxford staff did an incredible job of setting the tone for the night; they outfitted the ballroom with light strings and fresh linens and worked with our florist to ensure that her fragrant centerpieces found their way to each table. Our wedding ran well into the night and the entire staff of bartenders and waiters remained cheery and friendly through it all. Food was efficiently delivered to all 14 tables (no easy feat) and their event & dining coordinator stayed onsite to oversee the ceremony and dinner service. The room became really hot towards the end of the night and although some windows were opened, a better cooling system would've gone a long way.

Dinner was delicious with the exception of the chicken plate which many guests felt was undercooked. And herein lies my only criticism: if you use this venue and their exclusive caterer McCormick's, nail down the menu and how it's prepared well in advance of your wedding. Having said that, my husband is allergic to shellfish and we opted for a special menu that deviated from their standard packages—Oxford/McCormick's really worked with us to design a unique and flavorful food offering that reflected our cultural heritage and was shellfish-free.

All in all, we had so much fun during our wedding and I recommend this venue without hesitation!

The hotel was fantastic with the exception of the reservation process. This was the most difficult part of the entire process. We had a set rate at the hotel for our guests but some did not recieve this rate.

The Oxford as a venue is gorgeous; rooms are amazing (we had a Corner Room) and the bath butler service is wonderful. Hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating for us and our guests. They even surprised us with turn-down service including champagne on wedding night (though my maid of honor planned to decorate the room with roses for us, and the staff wouldn't allow her in). The Sage Room is perfect for a 50-70 guests reception. However, since it's an old hotel, the Sage Room was roasting hot for us and our guests. And the staff was NOT pleasant about my request to lower the temperature, and was rather snappish and rude as apparently some guests had complained to them as well. For our catering, we started the planning with the reknown Erin and she was amazing. But left shortly before finalization of plans and we had to start over with someone new, with some changed items and services. A few details fell through... On wedding day when the staff was setting up, I peeked in with my bridesmaids and saw that the set up was totally wrong and didn't even include a dance floor area; our tablecloths were on upside down, the cake and gift tables were in the wrong places and, again, there was NO dance floor. Fortunately my maid of honor was able to stay down there and talk to the staff for 20 min to get things straight; they hadn't followed the details included in our BEO or in the note attached to our bin of materials... Throughout the reception that evening, the staff was constantly bothering me and asking obvious questions like when did I want the champagne toast (um, look at the timeline on the BEO). We didn't have any drinks brought to us and those we started with were removed and not replaced when our sweetheart table was taken away. THis was tough because of the heat; we were constantly getting our own water or asking one of the bridal party to get one for us. The staff was again snappish at the end of the night when we were cleaning up. I heard from guests that the bartender was great.
We used the hotel's towncar service to get to the ceremony site, and the driver was lovely. Perfectly on schedule and pleasant to ride with.
I and my bridal party had our hair and make up and mani/pedi done at the Oxford Spa, and they were FANTASTIC. So professional, pleasant, accommodating, fun and skilled. Best french manicure I've ever had. They did a beautiful job on our hairstyles, each unique and a perfect fit for our hair type, length and personal style. Mine was challenging because I have wimpy fine hair, but Seferina found a way to make it gorgeous. The salon has a space where we were able to set up some snacks and bubbly, and they even provided the champagne flutes, plates, napkins and flatware for us. All the services were a little pricey compared to other salons, especially since you have to do a bridal practice appointment, but SO worth it for the level of service, talent and of course the convenience of walking right next door from the hotel.
All in all, the Oxford is a beautiful venue and I would highly recommend a stay at the Hotel and services at the Spa; the hotel meets its reputation for luxury and classic beauty and the Spa is among the best in Denver. And there were small details that we really appreciated - attention from the hotel (Ted is wonderful) and catering coordinator, flexibility and a great attitude from the salon staff, a restaurant gift certificate for later. We were disappointed that our wedding night room wasn't comp'd, but oh well. As a reception site, if you know exactly what you want and are picky about details, don't expect the catering staff to meet your expectations. I was flexible and let things go, after all it was my wedding day and what's done was done, but it was disappointing that I'd gone to the effort of providing them with simple information to capture the details per our contract, and it was as if they hardly referred to it at all. The bride and groom should not be pestered with details on their wedding day, especially when a POC was provided to handle that for us if anything came up.

Great Value and Location- Poor Event Staff

I would recommend the Oxford because it a beautiful and a perfect location. However, the staff experienced high amounts of turnover and was worn out and unorganized.

We began our plans with Erin B. at McCormick's/The Oxford Hotel and all went well right up until we tried to work with the hotel. Although the hotel is represented by the catering manager of McCormick's they can't actually reserve rooms, etc. So, when we tried to block some rooms or "redeem" their offer of $1000 in spa services and get the Presidential Suite well we were rudely informed by Ted C. (of The Oxford) that our wedding was the weekend of the Great American Beer Festival - so forget it. They never offered us any block of rooms and refused to honor their publicized offer! THEN, ultimately we learned at the rehearsal (held the night before the wedding) that another wedding had been booked for the same date/time in the room directly below the ballroom. (We had been told this was against company policy when we initially booked.) Needless to say it was a bit of a disaster - guests from the other wedding had to traipse upstairs to use the restrooms. Our procession began at the precise moment the other bridal couple was announced at their reception - so we had to listen to loud cheers while our bridal party attempted to hear the music for their "cue". The other bridal party's guests attempted to use our photo booth and even crashed our bar. We received some compensation, but felt it was too little too late. And frankly, the week after the wedding everyone is too tired to negotiate. We took their offer and made a pledge that we will never use The Oxford Hotel for anything in the future. In fact, they were so rude to us in the beginning that the bride's parents didn't even stay there - we stayed at the Ritz Carlton where we were treated like royalty!

My biggest warning for any brides booking their reception at the Oxford is to PLEASE pay close attention to the amount the bar claims your guests had. For example, their bar staff claimed that in less than 30 minutes, my remaining guests (around 30-40 people) had gone through $2,000 worth of alcohol or 255 drinks. That's more than 8 drinks per person and not even remotely possible in such a short amount of time. When we found such a significant discrepancy in the bill, they told us it was a "math error," and took off $1,000 (still 3-4 drinks per guest in less than a half an hour). When we asked them to further investigate this since that didn't seem right or allow us to review the surveillance tape during that time, they refused and said they've already "absorbed $1,000 of the costs." So it went from a "math error" to "absorbed costs"? Hhhmmm. Yeah, okay.

There were so many discrepancies and inconsistencies in their story and to this day, they still couldn't give us an accurate count of how many drinks were consumed in that last 30 minutes when the bar was re-opened. Unfortunately, they charged our card any ways and because my parents are both retired, I had to pick up the additional costs.

To me, this is a perfect example of a venue taking advantage of hard working people. And to have to deal with this the day after my wedding really took all the joy and happiness out of getting married. Oh, and several of my guests also complained about the poor/inconsistent quality of the food.

Bad food, bad service and an expedient policy. Be warned brides!
