We first visited the North Farm on a very snowy, cold day in January 2022. Despite the awful weather, we knew the North Farm was something special, and James and Abbey (who kindly walked us around the grounds, despite the wind and snow), were truly delightful. It was "good vibes" all around and we signed our contract right after the visit!

Fast forward to August 2023, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. James, Sophie, and Abbey are wonderful hosts. Throughout the entire planning period, James was attentive and responsive via email, and allowed us to visit the farm again during warmer weather with our families. Around our wedding day, we stayed two nights in their suite (which is so beautiful and peaceful). Again, they tended to the most minor of details and made us feel welcomed and cared for during what can be a stressful time! Sophie brought us a delicious breakfast each morning, and it was so special to ease into the day. We truly hope to return and celebrate anniversaries to come. Thank you, thank you!

After visiting most outdoor venues in the Finger Lakes, we found The North Farm and immediately fell in love. The property has multiple historic barns, a studio for the bride & groom, working agricultural land, and a lake view (if you're willing to take a short walk). It's the ultimate Finger Lakes Farm Fantasy venue.

My favorite part: each phase of the wedding happened in a different space which created delightful surprises and natural transitions for the guests. The venue brings the vibes. You won't need too add much.

The owners - James , Abbey, and Sophie - were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the process. On the wedding day, they ensured our older guests were comfortable and able to safely navigate the property (golf cart transport, water delivery, excellent jokes). They charmed us all to say the least!

We just celebrated our wedding at The North Farm this past weekend and it was just incredible! What I loved most about the venue was the different use of spaces, you had a different area for cocktails, dinner, dancing, and lounging so it really created an experience for our guests. I also got so many compliments from guests and vendors commenting on how beautiful and unique the space was! They even have the most amazing view of Seneca Lake just up the hill which provides an amazing backdrop for pictures.

James and Abbey were also the most amazing hosts at The North Farm, they guided us through the property and were extremely accommodating with anything we needed. Couldn't have asked for a more amazing venue and set of hosts for our wedding. Would highly recommend!

This review is WAY overdue but as our anniversary approaches we have been thinking about our perfect wedding day at The North Farm and wanted to share our experience! Like so many others, our original 2020 wedding plans were thwarted by Covid and we ended up postponing twice AND changing our venue entirely as our our first one could no longer host us. We were informed 3 months before our date that we had to find a new venue so we started our search all over again and immediately fell in love with TNF and were so excited that they had a date open that worked for us and our vendors. First and foremost, we cannot say enough kind words about the owner, Sophie; she was so understanding of our situation and our shortened timeline for planning and literally did everything she could to help us make our day happen. She and the coordinator at the time, Kate, rallied around us to work with our vendors and recreate our wedding vision in just 5 months, always in constant communication and making sure everyone was on the same page. When wedding day came everything went off without a single hitch! Note: they hold one wedding a weekend so we had ample time for setup/teardown which was GREATLY appreciated!

I could go on about their kindness for days but I need to make sure I also rave about the absolutely gorgeous property! We had a couple of lovely options for an outdoor ceremony as well as a backup plan to move it into the main barn in the event of rain-thankfully we didn't need to move inside as the weather was perfect and we had our ceremony up on the hill of the farm overlooking Seneca lake. We loved that there was a designated area for each part of our wedding and our guests loved this as well! Cocktail hour in the courtyard, dinner in the lower level of the barn and then we moved the party upstairs for dancing and dessert. There was plenty of space, lounge areas for people who needed a break from dancing, an area for lawn games-something for everyone!

I know this has been long winded but if you're still reading this, we just want to say that if you are looking for a venue with a sophisticated and vintage feel and the best host-look no further. Our style was to keep things simple in terms of decor and we're so glad we did because the buildings and grounds added so much character and natural beauty to our day and to our photos-there was no shortage of photo ops/locations! Sophie and her team/family very obviously take such great care of this amazing venue, and genuinely want to make sure that their guests are happy. Thank you again, Sophie & The North Farm!! My fiancée and I knew we wanted a unique wedding venue away from NYC. We also wanted to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. The North Farm delivered on so many levels and provided a hands on approach to make our day special for us and all of our guests.

The North Farm is NOT a factory venue. When you book a date, you’re actually reserving the space for the entire weekend. This allows for you much needed to time to prepare for your big day! Whether you need to drop off table numbers, or have vendors come set things up, the owner (Sophie is extremely flexible with time to ensure everything is set exactly as you want!

Our outdoor ceremony overlooked Seneca lake and provided a private, romantic setting where we could share our most intimate moment with friends and family.

Dinner in the barn with the provided chairs and farm tables, brought our loved together in a comfortable, intimate setting. The barn is naturally cool, so even on a hot August day, we were all extremely comfortable and enjoying delicious farm-to-table fare.

What I loved most about this venue, is the reception location is actually upstairs from the dinning room. This allowed our guests to get away from the confines of an assigned table and co-mingle/dance. I know I’m biased but I’ve never seen so much dancing at a wedding, and I think separate locations for dinner/reception was a huge part to encouraging people to dance.

The venue was tastefully designed with high tops and chairs for cocktail hour and reception and the venue is beautifully landscaped with natural flowers to compliment any theme.

Overall The North Farm was the BEST decision we made for vendors on our wedding day. We were able to create an event unlike any other, and our friends and family are still raving about the experience.

Final recommendation. Stay in Sophie’s loft for the weekend. You’ll be onsite and her breakfast is literally the best I’ve ever had. Bring your appetite because there are multiple courses. All of her ingredients are carefully curated to highlight local and organic ingredients and eggs are gathered from her own chickens. We were living our best farm life that weekend and we can’t wait to return.

Sophie becomes family and you can tell hosting couples and parties is a passion of love, not a moneymaking venture.

The NorthFarm is a truly beautiful and magical wedding venue. I visited it in February in the cold of winter with tons of snow and could still see how beautiful the venue was...so we booked it right away for a September wedding in 2020. Due to Covid, our plans for the wedding changed a few times (going from 170 people to just 10 people), and the owners (Adrienne and her mother Sophie) were nothing but flexible and helpful to accommodate all of our changes- many times! The property is stunning, and we got married at the top of their hill over-looking Seneca lake this past September. There were wildflowers and beautiful grasses everywhere, making it so scenic and gorgeous. My sister said it was the most picturesque wedding ceremony she has ever been to! Whether you are planning a wedding small or large, we HIGHLY recommend the North Farm. The family is wonderful, and so accommodating. Sophie was there the day of the wedding to help us set up the flowers on the arch and provided us with champaign flutes for a toast after the wedding. While my husband and I took some solo pictures, Sophie had chairs set up and blankets set out in the barn for our 8 guests to relax and drink some champagne on the chilly evening. Also the property makes the ideal backdrop for all wedding photos!!! It was so easy and beautiful, you truly cannot go wrong!!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at the North Farm. It was really the perfect venue for us. Adrienne, Sophie and Kate were so great to work with and always there to support us throughout the wedding planning year. Sophie was always available when we wanted to swing by for planning visits and is such an amazing host. The North Farm is such a beautiful place and we feel so grateful to have had our wedding there.

We could not have picked a more perfect venue for a wedding. Everything was exactly as we imagined it, and the venue (Sophie and Adrienne) worked with us to make sure our vision came to life. From the beautiful reception on the top of the hill, to the the gorgeous dinner in the renovated downstairs barn and unique layout of the upstairs reception, it was a pleasure to work with The North Farm.

There were options for different scenarios, if you had different visions or different tastes in vendors (no vendor was a *must* for the venue so you could completely customize you wedding to what you wanted). Everything and everyone worked seamlessly with each other and the amount of stress we thought we would be under was just not there.

I can't recommend this venue any more.

We got married at The North Farm in early September and the entire event was more beautiful than we ever imagined. To start, we planned our entire wedding from out of state and did not see the venue in person until after we already committed to it. As soon as we stepped foot on the farm, we knew we made the right choice. Sophie and Adrienne were so warmly inviting, reassuring, and accommodating throughout the whole process. We gladly accepted several of their recommendations for vendors, all of whom exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to help us set up over several days, make contingency plans for weather, and ultimately have the most magical experience.

Overall, the space was rustic, relaxed, inviting, elegant, and incredibly versatile. We personally wanted our day to feel both laid back and classy, and The North Farm provided the most perfect balance for our vision. We loved the effortless flow between the different spaces, from the ceremony up the hill, to cocktail hour in the courtyard, dining in the lower part of the barn, and dancing in the main space. So much was taken care of for us behind the scenes that we had no choice but to fully immerse ourselves in the big day and enjoy every moment of it. We stayed at the Maison (suite on site) for 2 nights and couldn't imagine a more lovely, dreamy space to get ready throughout day and spend the night. Added bonus, Sophie's breakfasts are to die for and we can't wait to make our way back to stay there again!

We fell in love with The North Farm the minute we saw it… even on a cold wet fall day. The beauty of the property and the restored barns are truly one of a kind. My husband and I were married at the farm in August and couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect day or a more perfect setting. Sophie and Adrienne were such wonderful and attentive hosts. They allowed us the creative freedom to utilize the unique spaces on the farm to create the most memorable experience for ourselves and our guests. The ceremony site is like none other, with views of the lake and the rolling hills in the distance. It was the most incredible experience to walk over the hill and catch site of all our wedding guests and my husband waiting for me to join him at the end of the pathway. (The most unique aisle you will ever walk down!) The dining and reception spaces are rustic and beautiful. They come to life with the twinkling cafe lights. You have to see it for yourself! We highly recommend The North Farm.

We had an incredible wedding experience at the North Farm. The venue really speaks for itself. Once we looked at the venue, we couldn’t envision getting married anywhere else—it’s simply captivating as are the people—Sophie + Adrienne—who own and coordinate the venue. The diversity of natural and built spaces for friends and family to navigate and explore throughout the day might be the best thing about the North Farm. We held the ceremony at the top of the field, not only to admire the expansive views of Seneca Lake but also for our guests to immerse themselves in the grounds. Transitioning from space to space gave the day a natural storyline. Moving from the top of the field to the courtyard area, to the dining area, to the dance floor, lounge and mezzanine. The diversity of space fosters such an enriching aesthetic and creates an atmosphere where everyone can find their own little niche for the day. We loved that the North Farm offers you the flexibility and ability to be creative with the design of the space and working with diverse vendors. Prior to the day they contacted our vendors and walked them through the intricacies of the space as well as invited them to come explore prior to.
Our guests have been beyond complimentary about the experience the North Farm offered. Our vendors were thrilled to be working with the North Farm and only spoke highly of their experiences both before and after the event.

We stayed at the Maison at the North Farm the night prior to and on our wedding day. The Maison is beyond idyllic, with a massive window to gaze up at the stars while in bed. It creates the perfect and rather peaceful backdrop for getting ready the day of. Sophie’s cooking is exceptional, rooted in local and organic products.

We can’t say enough about working with Sophie and Adrienne as well as the community of vendors they interact with. Sophie and Adrienne welcomed us to the property many times, in the pouring rain no less, prior to our wedding so we could get a better feel for each unique space and the layout for the day. On the day of our wedding, they coordinated—both visibly and invisibly—the flow of the day and left unexpected surprises to culminate the day. They have an uncanny knack for knowing what you and your guests need before you do. As a same-sex couple, we as well as our family and friends felt incredibly welcomed by Sophie and Adrienne.

It perhaps goes without saying that they are just good, worldly people concerned about restoring and maintaining what is ‘old’ and sustaining the ecological health of their and neighboring land. In turn, they have created such a wonderful and thriving place to celebrate it all. Their commitment to holistically minimizing environmental impact, with the goal of going zero-waste, is rather pioneering in the wedding arena (e.g., onsite composting) and something that deeply resonates and aligns with our values. The Finger Lakes region and Geneva, in particular, are incredibly lucky to have such mindful, creative, and caring stewards of people and place.

Get married there, it’s the best.

I don't want to give up how magical this place is by giving away all of the details on a review. Half of the fun is exploring all the north farm has to offer.

This place is the ideal place for a barn wedding.

We first saw the place on a freezing day in March. The owners made us feel at home from that moment on. Every time we went, we loved the space more and more. We explained our vision of our perfect wedding to them at this time. Looking back at our original vision, we got everything we wanted and most met or exceeded our high expectations.

We had a formal and elegant wedding, but also a relaxed and fun atmosphere. That combination is hard to pull off at most venues but is very natural here.

I encourage any couples searching for a venue to check it out. I liked it from what I read and saw online, but I didnt know how truly magical everything would end up.

Choosing to get married at the north farm was hands-down the best decision we made. The venue is an aesthetic dream. It is cozy yet chic, rustic yet refined, replete with both its own charm and the capacity to remain flexible. Our large group of wedding guests (270 or so) instantly felt comfortable on site. The best part about The North Farm however, is not the stunning landscape (our photographer commented, "the most photogenic venue I have ever seen"), but the people who run it. Adrienne, Sophie, Matt and James worked tirelessly to make our wedding flawless. In our mire of self-imposed obligatory pre-wedding stress, they never for a moment met us with anything less than a massive smile and calm, soothing demeanor. To put it plainly: they care deeply. If you want a venue with unreal aesthetics, flawless execution and a family that makes you feel part of their own, you’ve found it. If you are on the fence, ask for our phone number--we cannot say enough about this bucolic masterpiece masquerading as a wedding venue.

We held our wedding at The North Farm at the end of May. When we visited The North Farm for the first time, we couldn't help but fall in love. We took a tour of the barns, walked up the hill to the ceremony spot overlooking Seneca Lake, and had tea in the farmhouse kitchen after seeing the gorgeous Bridal Suite. We loved working with Sophie and Adrienne. The North Farm provides a totally magical, elegant, and flexible space that served as a blank canvas for our vision. Everyone raved about the venue and wants to get married there!

My daughter’s wedding was held at The North Farm in Geneva and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the venue.
The planning of a wedding that is held at a barn venue can be extremely overwhelming with so many details to be attended to. Sophie and Adrienne were very helpful. They were always more than willing to give us suggestions for vendors and help us with any other details that may have been needed.
The venue itself is simply breathtaking. Our guest were amazed at how beautiful everything was.

We had a fantastic time getting married at the North Farm and can’t recommend the venue - and the owners - highly enough. They were incredibly flexible with the space, helpful with arrangements, and full of tips and contacts for local suppliers. They took all of the stress out of our wedding planning, and the Airbnb room onsite was idyllic. By the end of the event, Adrienne, Sophie and Alice all felt like family and we were very sorry to say goodbye!

My wife and I were married at The North Farm in August 2018. Everything was as advertised and we had a beautiful day. The grounds(which speak for themselves) were in excellent condition, as was the barn. Sophie and her daughter Adrienne were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. The space is wonderful an allowed for us to transition from each phase of the night with ease. This family run venue is a great choice.

We first visited the farm in January of 2018 and even though there was about a foot of snow on the ground...we fell in love with the venue immediately and knew this was the place for us. We couldn't have been more right! With amazing views and a rustic barn that has been beautifully and lovingly kept up, it was impossible to let it pass us by. Come summer, when our wedding came around, what once was covered in snow was now fields of greens with wildflowers everywhere. It was like something out of a dream. We were married up on the hill with a sprawling view of Seneca Lake to gaze at...absolutely beautiful! The North Farm turned out to be everything we has always hoped for in a wedding venue. We were even able to spend the night before and the night of our wedding in the Bridal Suite available within their lovely home just steps away from the main barn! The North Farm is also working towards being a zero-waste venue which fit perfectly within our plans to minimize our waste as much as possible through recycling and composting.

As for the owners, Sophie and Adrienne, we honestly couldn't love them more. By the end of our time with them, they didn't just feel like family, they WERE family! For the most part, prior to the wedding, we dealt with Adrienne who was professional, full of information and always tried to make herself available whenever we needed her for something. As a pair, Sophie and Adrienne make the perfect mother-daughter team. From recommending and coordinating with vendors, to accomodating all of our needs the moment we first met with them. We were able to visit the venue multiple times prior to our wedding weekend, and they made the venue available to us throughout the entire week leading up to the wedding. By the end of the weekend we didn't want to leave! We highly recommend The North Farm to any couples who are looking to have a rustic barn/farm setting for their wedding, you will NOT be disappointed!

Everything about the North Farm is perfect. My husband and I are both creative people, so having the freedom to decorate a space was something that was important to us. We wanted something simple yet beautiful. The Finger Lakes region is already a beautiful location, so we wanted a venue that displayed the incredible scenery.

We gave up on looking in the region. Nothing we looked at fit our aesthetic or our vision. Luckily, a friend recommended the sweet Elkin family who run The North Farm. I can't thank her enough! Everything about The North Farm is perfect and exactly what we were looking for! Their attention to detail is superb, the restoration of the barn is authentic and the views!!! We absolutely loved the flow of the space as well.

My husband and I got married in the middle of June. We were able to decorate the space with the help of family, friends and the Elkin family a few days before the wedding. It was a blast having everyone together. We got married on top of their hill overlooking the beautiful scenery of the farm and Seneca Lake. We had a beautiful band sing during the ceremony that Sophie recommended. It was a dream. The farm tables that were included in the dining room were exactly what we wanted. The new modern outdoor furniture is gorgeous and we loved the juxtaposition of old and new. The dance floor was perfect for 145 people and the guests who didn't want to dance got to relax in the lounge. Everything about the venue had a nice flow. So many photos were taken. Not one person could take a bad picture in this beautiful setting.

The Elkin family were such a delight to work with. Not only did we have an amazing wedding, but we also made new friends that we'll cherish for a lifetime! We're so thankful they welcomed us to their farm to celebrate our marriage.

We had never been to the Finger Lakes prior to our first visit to The North Farm. When our search began for a wedding venue, we had the Catskills or Hudson Valley in mind. But when I stumbled upon The North Farm on instagram (thank you #catskillswedding) my curiosity was peaked. On a whim, we decided to make the 5+ hour drive up to Seneca Lake. The rolling hills of upstate New York, beyond the mountains I was more familiar with, were picturesque. This would be s great precursor to the first of many weekends in Geneva leading up to our wedding. On our first night, we fell in love with the vibe of the town, the farm, the barn and the Paillard-Elkin family.

The North Farm is a sprawling, bi-level barn finished with the utmost care and design in mind, combining both the charm of an old and faded rustic barn with small details and finishes that make it feel current, modern and sophisticated. This property is for the bride and groom who wants to create an experience for their guests that is at once casual and laid back yet elegant, chic and formal (if you so choose). The barn and adjoining courtyard and back entry way (which provides the most majestic backdrop for a golden sunset cocktail) has multiple spaces that flow organically into one another, creating an experience that you can customize to your needs. The North Farm was the setting for our entire wedding from ceremony to reception. As far as wedding formats go, I loved having dinner separate from the reception. It really gave an order to the day and allowed the night to build in excitement. (I find the dancing, then eating, then dancing, then more eating, then speaking…to be a bit of an awkward format.)

My absolute favorite thing about The North Farm was getting to work with Sophie and Adrienne - the owners and managers of the property. They told us from the beginning that their intention for the property was not to make it a wedding factory and I think that’s really why the experience felt so special. Aside from their great taste (which laid the groundwork for the venue), they were so easy and accommodating to work with and provided great recommendations of like-minded. I hate to call it just a wedding venue or wedding barn as you really have the opportunity to create something beyond the stock, cookie-cutter wedding. The North Farm, as it is, is a great venue for any couple looking for a rustic yet-sophisticated wedding venue. That said, the possibilities for a creative couple or wedding planner are endless!

Some bonus things to note - the Maison at The North Farm is the most charming and beautifully appointed bridal suite to wake up in the morning of your wedding day (I highly recommend a morning run along the lake to calm your nerves). Geneva was a magical town to serve as our ‘home base’. As our guests described it, it felt like our own little town for the weekend. Our pre-wedding activities were held on Linden Street including the rehearsal dinner at the Left Bank Geneva followed by cocktails at Linden Social Club. We also hosted an after party at Kashong Creek (so fun!) followed by a brunch at Linden Social Club. The whole town was so inviting and guests had a great time being able to walk themselves back from the hotel (Ramada/Hampton) to the town center. Lastly, we had Christopher Bates and his amazing wife, Isobel, of FLX table cater our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made, second only to booking The North Farm as our venue!

We had an absolutely lovely wedding at the North Farm in late September 2017. The North Farm is by far the most visually stunning and unique space we visited in our long search across the Finger Lakes. We had our ceremony up the hill, with a view of Seneca lake, and our reception in the refurbished beautiful barn. There are so many unique spaces compared to your cookie cutter wedding venue. We and our guests were blown away with the aesthetics and the overall rustic, yet classy environment.

Sophie and her family were wonderful to work with; they were professional, warm, and actively involved in our big day. They were flexible and willing to work with us to achieve the vibe we were looking for. We also stayed at the Maison after the wedding, and really loved that space as well.

This is a must-see venue and a hidden gem. Photos really do not do it justice. We feel blessed to have had such a wonderful wedding spot, and would recommend it for many more weddings and events to come! Thank you Sophie!

We were married at The North Farm in summer 2017 and I couldn't have been happier with our wedding day! The barn and grounds are incredibly picturesque. We had our ceremony in the field behind the barn in late August, the fields of wild flowers were blooming and it was the perfect setting, wild and natural but still very elegant.

Sophie and her family were wonderful to work with, they are very warm and accommodating. Both Sophie and Adrienne were very helpful in answering any questions we had throughout the planning process, and they had great recommendations for vendors and activities in the area.

We also stayed in the Maison on the property, which is beautiful and feels straight out of the french country side. In the morning Sophie prepared a wonderful breakfast for us with food grown right there on the organic farm. The North Farm is truly unique and very special, I'm so glad we chose to have our wedding day there!

We recently celebrated our wedding at The North Farm with around 70 guests and couldn't have been happier with the venue and the accommodations in the Maison suite. We also welcomed a small number of our family members to the Left Bank for our rehearsal dinner and each of them raved about the intimate and unique venue in the heart of Geneva.

Kate was a true professional and ensured each of our vendors had the proper direction and details to ease their arrival and departure. Her proactive communication in the months leading up to our wedding also helped reduce the stress of planning once the big day arrived. Sophie was an accommodating host who made us feel at home with incredible breakfasts in our suite and outward friendliness to each of our guests. Her environmentally-friendly focus was one of the reasons we celebrated at The North Farm and we were thankful each of our vendors had experience working at the venue and were well prepared to work within the provided guidance.

As people who originally hail from the region, we were so grateful to share the Finger Lakes with our family and friends thanks to the incredible spaces and Sophie and Kate's hard work.

We are so happy we decided to have our wedding at the north farm. The venue is so beautiful and intimate. All of our guests were blown away by how lovely the venue was. We loved how the day flowed, with each part of the day in various locations on the farm. From the ceremony in the field to cocktails in the courtyard, to dinner in the barn cellar and dancing up in the main barn. It was very convenient to be able to get ready at the Airbnb farm house/bridal suite and have the room for the night of the wedding. Sophie and Adrienne were so sweet, helpful and accommodating. They helped to set up the ceremony chairs and in addition to giving us recommendations, were very flexible with our vendor decisions.

Things to consider: There is a lot of planning and coordination with vendors that must be done when you choose this venue (totally worth it!) and sometimes it would take a few weeks to get responses to our questions when planning further in advance.

Overall, it was a magical day and we felt like we were able to share a very intimate experience with our guests.
