We are SO glad we picked his venue!
Our experience at MillCreek was incredible! Their staff was amazing and easy to work with. Amelia is prompt at responding to emails and answering questions, which made this process so much easier. Isabeau and her staff were wonderful, very kind and helpful. They made sure our special day went off without a hitch. The venue is beautiful as is, which made decorating a breeze. It was an absolutely perfect day at MillCreek. We would pick this venue over and over again!

Most magical wedding venue
MillCreek Wilde is the best wedding venue!! Our wedding was September 29th and the weather was just perfect. The trees were just starting to change color which just added to the beauty of this venue. This venue is very well throughout, Amelia does an amazing job decorating this location. Our guests said this is the most beautiful venue they had ever been to.-

Bride at MillCreek
I had such an amazing time at MillCreek! It was everything I could have wanted and more. The staff was so friendly and everyone went beyond to make sure my day was exactly how I wanted it. I loved all the little details and how they update their venue continuously to improve and hip with the times. -

Wedding of Our Dreams
MillCreek Wilde was perfectly whimsical, romantic, and welcoming. We loved how our photos turned out from the lush greenery and natural beauty around the venue. I also loved the bride's getting ready gazebo - it was so nice and relaxing! Our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing this venue was between the natural beauty, s'more pit, and the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere.-

Magical Wild Wedding at Millcreek Wilde
We have nothing but good things to say about this venue and its owners/staff.
Our wedding day was absolutely magical, everything ran so smoothly.
The grounds are kept so wild and beautiful, our guests were blown away with the venue and enjoyed exploring all the unique spaces.
We had 100 guests which was perfect for this venue (although you could definitely fit more). We used greenery from Sam's Club to decorate the tables and that's all the venue really needed. It's already so beautiful, it doesn't need much.
Our day was absolutely perfect. A huge thank you to the whole team!-

Amazing Venue in Nature
The experience with MillCreek Wilde as my wedding venue was amazing from start to finish. Amelia is such a genuine, creative soul who responds SO quickly (like to the minute) and the staff on the day of the event were so helpful. The venue itself is beyond beautiful. I can't imagine having my wedding day anywhere else! I wish I could do it all over again! I loved the privacy of the land and the bonfire is perfect for a summer wedding. Highly highly recommend this venue. -

MillCreek Wilde
Amelia and her team have created beautiful venues that truly fill the air with love, joy, and happiness. MillCreek Wilde was exactly what my daughter had for her vision- it was like an enchanted forest wedding! They were kind, responsive, and Cassie (the manager of MillCreek) had amazing suggestions. I truly cannot say enough good things about Amelia, Cassie and MillCreek Wilde. So many special little touches and the areas for the groomsmen and the bridesmaids were perfect. It was just perfect. -

Bride and Groom
Millcreek Wilde was an amazing venue! Our wedding day was a dream come true and the venue played a huge factor in the best day of our lives. Don't underestimate the dance floor being in a separate room than the dining hall. Our guests danced the night away. The bar being so close was also a plus. There are so many quaint areas for people to hang out and enjoy themselves. -

Amazing experience!
From the start of our venue search, we knew we wanted to tour MillCreek. We had a couple different venues in mind but MillCreek happened to be our first tour and ended up being our only tour! It is such a beautiful place, tucked back into nature, and like its own little world. There’s so many things to do from having a bonfire, hanging out on the gazebo, checking out the cottages, spending time on the new ladybird patio, or exploring the actual barn. Parking was plentiful and we had more than enough room for all our guests. The only recommendation we would make is to maybe have some signage on M140 so guests knew they were turning on the right street but we realize that is residential and may be difficult to put up signage. Amelia and Cassie were our two biggest helps, from Amelia always being responsive via email or Cassie being there to answer our questions leading up to the day. When the day came, Cassie was there thinking of everything we weren’t thinking of and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. During cleanup after the wedding, Cassie’s husband and a MillCreek staff member were there to help clean up odds and ends and kept us informed of what was being done the whole time. Overall, we had an absolutely amazing experience. I told my (now) husband that I am so sad we had to leave - MillCreek felt like home, it was so comfortable! We are hoping to be back one day. Even if I have to convince one of my friends to get married there just so we can go back! :) Thank you to everyone at MillCreek and if you are wondering if this is the right venue for you, please check it out and know the staff will be amazing to work with. The venue is downright gorgeous. We can’t wait to get the rest of our pictures back. Thank you again to everyone at MillCreek!!! Love, Sarah and Michael Bond -

Beautiful, Happy Vibes
From start to finish everything has been IMPECCABLE and I loved working with Amelia and Kirby. Good vibes off the bat, great people, and the love and care they have for this property and their other properties is very apparent. The staff we interacted with were incredible, leading up to and on the day. Everything was magical, and if I could get married all over again I would. But who knows, vow renewals might just have to be a thing! 💕🌸💐

Perfect Boho Venue
Our May wedding at Sundance was perfect! The flowers were starting to bloom, really bringing out the natural beauty of the venue. Even with the rain during the ceremony and quickly having to pivot to an indoor ceremony, everything ran smoothly, and we still got to enjoy the gardens when the sun decided to come out after the ceremony. If you're not big into barns or country clubs, this is the perfect wedding venue for you! The decor fit out style perfectly! -

The perfect venue!
I couldn't have asked for a better venue to get married at. Everything about The Blue Dress Barn is stunning! I knew I made the right choice when I told other vendors which venue I was using and several of them made comments that it was their favorite venue and they were so excited to be working there again.
The owner (Amelia) and all of her staff are incredible. The entire grounds looked like a fairy tale while we were there. Amelia herself was going around and making everything look perfect before our ceremony. We were worried about rain but ended up being able to be outside and get married between the beautiful silos.
The reception space is perfect! As soon as you walk in, it's grand and fairy tale like. String lights and chandlers throughout. There are beautiful vintage wood farm tables available to use that go so well with the barn itself. The dance floor is the perfect size, including the stage area for your DJ.
Outside there are many areas for your guests to hang out if they need some fresh air including the fire pit that Amelia had the staff light and tend for us throughout the night and a beautiful balcony right outside the dance floor.
I've received nothing but compliments from my guests about how perfect The Blue Dress Barn is! -

Magical venue!
Our wedding at the Blue Dress Barn was pure magic! Leading up to the wedding, Amy responded to my questions quickly and thoroughly and was so helpful when I needed direction with vendors, floorplans, etc. During our rehearsal, she sat with me and my coordinator and worked up a creative floorplan that allowed me to keep a king’s banquet setup in case the ceremony had to be indoors due to weather. Thankfully, the weather behaved, and we were able to experience the gorgeous outdoor space all afternoon. Our guests kept telling us how gorgeous of a venue it was, and we are still getting messages a few weeks later. We even had a vendor tell us this was their favorite venue they had ever been to. I would not change a single thing about our experience at the Blue Dress Barn – I only wish we could do it again and again! -

Great fall wedding venue!
We got married on Halloween weekend and we were looking for a venue that was both moody and unique. Sundance exceeded our expectations! The venue was on top of communication throughout the planning process which was very helpful as we live out of state. All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, especially with all the fall colors! We had 100 guests and there was plenty of space for people to move around and enjoy the dance floor or even find somewhere quieter to hang out. There were so many picturesque locations throughout the site that we did not have to leave for any bridal party pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue and highly recommend to anyone! -

Best day ever
Amelia and Sara,
I can’t stop crying happy tears!!!
Everything was beyond my wildest dreams. Every hiccup, every bump in the road, led me to June 12, 2021 at MillCreek Wilde and I am so thankful for all of it.
The venue was an entire vibe on its own and a place where we felt the most comfortable staying true to ourselves. I cannot tell you how many comments we received, “How did you guys find this place?”
Thank you for all of your help, your advice and your guidance. I will always look back at these moments with the most joyful memories and utmost gratitude for you all. -

Amazing Experience
I have been dreaming to get married at the Blue Dress Barn for probably over 10 years after finding it as a teenager scrolling through Pinterest - it was everything I could have imagined and much much more. The entire property is absolutely beautiful and it is the perfect place to have both the ceremony and the reception. I live out of town and planning a wedding a couple hours away & in only a few months time was a little stressful - but the barn management was so responsive and helpful whenever I sent them emails with tons of questions. During the tour, the consultation, and then the rehearsal and wedding day, the manager Beth was there and she was so helpful with everything. I did not have a wedding planner so I had lots of family members helping out the day of while I was getting ready and she helped all of them getting things ready. She was so helpful to the entire process. One of the best parts about getting married at the Blue Dress Barn was that besides the basic: linens, flowers, and pictures, the barn does not need any decorations. It is beautiful left as is and saves tons of money in the long run not having to spend money on decorations. Lastly, I don’t think my guests ever stopped talking about how beautiful the venue was, I think everyone who came had so much fun wandering the grounds and marveling and the beauty of the barn. So if you are thinking about getting married here - DO IT! It was absolutely the best day of my life and I could have not imagined it being at any other venue.
Also - as being a budget conscious bride, I weighed the pros and cons of getting married at one of the more expensive venues of all the ones we looked at, but realistically it did not end up being much more expensive due to everything that comes included that you don’t have to rent/buy, plus not spending money on decorations saved lots.-

Beautiful Venue!
The moment I saw The Blue Dress Barn online, I knew it was the place for us! Every time I was in the area visiting family, I had to drive by just to take in the beauty once again. It is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen, and is by far the most beautiful I have ever been to a wedding at (even if I am a little biased because it was my own wedding). Our wedding party, parents, and guests could not stop raving about the venue! Even those who were not there keep talking about the beautiful venue when they see the photos.
Amy and Kirby were great to work with, especially through the constantly changing COVID restrictions. They did everything they could to help make sure our special day was everything we dreamed, even changing our reception layout proposal (beautifully hand-drawn by Amy) multiple times as restrictions kept evolving.
Even being the first weekend of the season, the fixture above the dance floor was already so beautifully decorated that our florist didn’t have to use the décor we had purchased for there, allowing her to instead decorate our head table more.
With multiple ceremony spaces to choose from, a unique and spacious bridal suite to get ready in, and an amazing staff to work with, I couldn’t image a better place for us to have had our special day!

I could not be happier with this venue, it was a dream.
I am still blown away by how absolutely AMAZING this venue was from my experience with Amelia and Kirby (owners) to the breathtaking beauty of the venue itself. It was beyond beautiful, everyone I worked with went above and beyond for our special day, and people couldn't stop raving about how gorgeous and unique the venue is. Because I want anyone looking into this venue to have the same incredible experience that I had had my wedding at MillCreek Wilde, I want to touch on a few things that I was originally a little worried about (as a new bride who had no idea what she was doing) but turned out to be an absolute non-issue.
First of all, the venue needed no additional decor other than the centerpieces and a sign for the guestbook. We brought so much stuff that we decided not to use because the venue was perfect on its own.
Secondly, I was worried the area might be a little too rural for my city-dwelling guests but they had no issues at all finding the venue, and anybody that had bad cell service said it was brief and honestly, they are there to celebrate! Who needs perfect cell service?
I was worried about finding vendors since I was planning everything from out of town. Amelia provided me a long list of vendors she recommended and they all delivered beautifully! I am especially grateful for the recommendation given for White Horse Farm Catering because the food was the best I've ever had at a wedding (and most restaurants!).
If you've reviewed the venue layout you'll notice that the dancefloor is a little separated from the dining area. This ended up being a huge plus because a) older guests stayed all night because they were able to visit with everyone without shouting over loud music, but everyone who wanted to dance was singing their hearts out as if they were at a live concert, b) since many people walked over to the dancefloor to watch our first dance, suddenly we noticed everyone swaying back and forth with us and singing along. It was so much more beautiful than people watching from their chairs (though many still did, as you can still see the dancefloor), and c) the dance floor was next to two open doors which allowed for a nice breeze, we never overheated.
Obviously, weddings can be costly. This venue was way more affordable than any other venue we viewed, but I was still writing out the largest checks I ever have before so it was nerve-wracking. Every deposit that was refundable if not used (for us it was the heating) was refunded immediately following the wedding. It was so nice to not have to worry about reaching out again.
Finally, Amelia was not only so patient with my 1000000 questions but she seemed happy to answer everything I asked, and she always got back to me quickly. By the time of the wedding, I felt like we were friends because she had been so wonderful to me.
I know this is a ridiculously long review, I am just so happy and want to share it with everyone. -

Our wedding dream came to life
Amy, I can not say enough on how PERFECT our weekend/day was. For starters, YOU ARE COMPLETELY WITHOUT A DOUBT AMAZING AT WHAT YOU DO. You can tell you absolutely love and cherish what you do. You made me feel so calm during the thunderstorm I was in. You helped me more than anyone else has throughout the process. SO THANK YOU from the deepest part of my heart. Secondly, your BARN, OMG your BARN is absolutely breath taking!! EVERYTHING we have ever dreamed of! It was perfect, especially during this pandemic. All of our guests felt comfortable, it was the most perfect day with the most perfect weather. The smore's station/bonfire area was constantly filled, the ceremony spot where our guests were playing corn hole, some people just walking the grounds because it was lit ever so perfectly and the dance floor was NEVER empty. Amy, I wish I could spend every weekend there celebrating love because it is truly something out of a fairy tale. As I write this, tears flood my eyes on how PERFECT it was. During a pandemic... who would've thought. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Every single one of our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to & that is truly because of YOU & Kirby. We LOVE Blue Dress, it will forever hold such a dear place in our souls and hearts. I express my deepest love and thanks, may God bless you FOREVER. With love, The Matyaszeks -

Thank you!
My husband and I were married at BDB in August 2020. Our original date was supposed to be in May 2020. Kirby and Amy were so accommodating and gracious from the very start of our wedding planning process, but even more so when COVID hit. Right away they helped us move our date to August free of charge. I would email Amy a million questions- and she would always respond with kindness! Our hairstylist canceled on us a couple weeks before our new date and Amy went out of her way to make sure we had a new stylist. Not only were Amy and Kirby a pleasure to work with, but the staff at BDB was just as sweet and helpful on our day.
We booked Blue Dress Barn site unseen, but I knew from the moment I saw the pictures and videos that it was everything I ever wanted in a wedding venue. Our wedding at BDB was a dream come true, and I still can't believe it was able to happen. There are so many unique touches to the venue that you just won't be able to find anywhere else: the bridal suite, arbors, groom's trailer, vintage tables, gazebo, and so much more. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue and how magical it all felt. We are eternally grateful and still can’t believe how everything fell into place! -

Stunning Venue!
This venue is absolutely stunning. It is a completely one of a kind space with so many unique and beautiful details throughout. We had our wedding there in September, and guests kept commenting on how much they loved the venue. Amy and her team are so kind and so helpful. We highly recommend considering this spot for your special day! -

I got married at The Blue Dress Barn this past Sunday and it was a fairytale come true! Amy was amazing to work with during the planning process. Any questions I had, she emailed be back within an hour or two. No questions were silly questions in her eyes. I trusted her 100%. The day of the wedding was a breeze. Her staff knew exactly what they needed to do and nobody needed direction. The venue itself is breathtaking and our guest had nothing but great things to say. I would recommend this venue to anyone else in a heart beat! -

I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else besides MillCreek Wilde. We had our wedding in May 2018. It was a dream, it met our expectations of "chic, classy, elegant rustic" vibe we were going for. Amy, Kirby, Sarah and the rest of the team were amazing, very responsive and helpful. Amy is very helpful, she can provide you a list of vendors around the area (which most have worked with MillCreek) that you can choose from. Everyone at our wedding loved the venue, and couldn't say enough positive things about the venue, from the "man camp", campfire area, dance floor, to the dining area with paper lanterns!! This venue is a dream if you want a beautiful elegant barn!! -

The Venue was so beautiful. The lighting inside and out was amazing. We had 200 guests at our wedding and we wanted different size tables in our mix for added interest and they met our request gladly working with us to get the perfect floor plan. We had so many compliments on the venue and setting. I can't say enough good things.-

My husband and I got married at the Blue Dress Barn this past July. We are so, so happy we decided on this venue for our wedding. It was just what we wanted – plenty of space for our guests, but it still felt intimate and laid-back. Plus, the ceremony site and reception space were so gorgeous on their own that we only needed minimal decorations. Amy and Tasha were incredible throughout the entire planning process. They made everything so easy and answered all of our questions quickly. We’ve received so many compliments from guests about how much they loved the venue. We will never forget the amazing day we had at the Blue Dress Barn. It exceeded our expectations and was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. -

We had our reception at Millcreek on 07/29/2017 and it was the best day of our lives. The venue was everything that I had wanted. The staff is super nice, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend at least taking a look at this beautiful venue. Thank you to everyone for making sure our day was everything that we wanted it to be!! :) -

This venue is so special. It's difficult to put into words just how breathtaking this space is. Everywhere you look there is a gorgeous detail waiting to be found. To top it off, the staff is awesome! Marki was so helpful every step of the way and just the sweetest. Then Devon took over for the evening and I swear that guy was in ten places at once! He was always there with whatever we needed and made sure the whole bridal party was well taken care of throughout the night. My guests couldn't stop talking about how unique the venue was and the question of the night quickly became "how did you find this place?!?" It was truly the most amazing night and I could not be happier that we chose Sundance for our wedding! -

The Sundance staff and venue are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for something with style and a vintage, eclectic look. I got married here in September 2016 and was wonderfully surprised by all the added decorations (that I saw online and thought were other people's hard work from their own budget) the venue added to make the space even more beautiful! I loved the way the evening flowed from the garden to the cocktail hour outside, to the dining room and then dance room. All of our guests loved the space too. It's unique, affordable and stands out from other spaces in West Michigan. -

My husband had skyped me while visiting the barn and without me seeing the venue myself we booked it! The venue speaks for itself and the part I loved most is not much had to be done! We got married at the blue dress barn on May 27 2016, and it was more amazing then I could have imagined. After reading some of the reviews from a one off situation I was wondering how it all would be, but I absolutely loved working with Amy and Tasha! Amy was always fast to respond and never made me feel like I was asking to many questions. She super friendly and always made sure my questions were answered. Tasha was a life saver the day of the wedding and wanted to make sure our day was perfect. These two ladies were AMAZING to work with. Every wedding has there hick-ups but how you respond will determine your day. We had a few issues but I wouldn't change our special day!! I highly recommend the blue dress barn and those who have booked the barn- it won't disappoint -

We were married at the Barn on 10-15-16. It was absolutely perfect. All of our guests traveled from out of town and at least 60% had never been to Michigan before. Everyone was blown away by how beautiful the area and the venue itself was. So many people told us it was the most beautiful and unique wedding they had ever been to. It was truly the best night of our lives! -

Words cannot describe how breathtakingly beautiful Blue Dress Barn is and the area surrounding it. This is truly a magical place for a wedding. The ceremony site itself is such a perfect setting and inside the barn is so gorgeous and rustic and you honestly don’t have to do anything extra to decorate it. The owner, Amy, was always responsive and super helpful with any questions I had, and Tasha was awesome and on top of her game with everything. When you book with Blue Dress, you are also given a list of local vendors, which was extremely helpful since my wedding was a destination. At night you have access to a fire pit and nice sitting area (we had a s'mores station here), there is a balcony overlooking the ceremony site (perfect if you are having a band/musician for your ceremony) and there are string lights outside at various points, which make the whole place look magical. There is also a unique bridal suite and a “man camp” (vintage-y trailer) for both parties to get ready/hang out before the ceremony, which were awesome touches. I have had countless people tell me how beautiful and different our wedding was and how much they loved the Barn. Our wedding at Blue Dress was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t be happier with how amazing everything turned out. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful space with us for our big day!

My husband and I got married at the Blue Dress Barn on July 22, 2016! It was everything we could've wanted and more! Amy was so easy to talk to throughout the entire process and even completely redid our seating chart before the wedding! Tasha was amazing as well. She was always so nice and wanted to help with anything that she could to make our day run smoother! We are still receiving tons of compliments on the venue and how beautiful everything was. I highly recommend choosing the Blue Dress Barn for your wedding!

Myself and my husband got married on July 9, 2016 at the Blue Dress Barn and the wedding was an absolute dream come true! It was everything and more we could have ever wanted. Our friends and family were blown away with how beautiful the venue was - so many saying that it was the best they've ever been to. Amy and Tasha have been so helpful throughout the entire process and made wedding planning very comfortable. They were always available to answer questions and make any last minute changes. I loved that I was able to bring my own vendors in because I was able to really personalize the wedding to my taste. This barn will give you the wedding of your dreams and I highly recommend it to anyone to wants a beautiful and sweet wedding! -

Hands down the most breathtaking place I have ever been to! Every time I went to the venue for a walk through or what not I would literally get chills walking into the barn. And walking into the barn the night of our wedding was even better! We went to look at the barn in February of the one of the worst winters Michigan has had in years. There was probably 4 feet of snow on the ground and I thought.. with this much snow to have this place be so beautiful, imagine it in September! That was it. I needed to get married there. I am photo person and looking through all the weddings at Blue Dress none of the wedding photos look the same. I loved that! Every bride has their own style and this barn brings that out of the girls so well. It's magical what you can do here. The owners and staff were so helpful and answered all my emails or calls right away. I loved that when you book your wedding at any of their venues they give you a packet of vendors they have used or that they recommend which is so helpful! Most people are from out of town so everyone is used to working with destination weddings. The grounds and barn sell themselves. My guests LOVED our wedding there! They said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! They all dressed comfortable summery dress style or fancy if they wanted to. I was not picky on attire because I just wanted everyone to have a blast and they defiantly did! You'd be nuts not to get married here. Trust me! Also, because I don't want to put the price down because I think that's tacky. You can have a very expensive wedding or a very simple low cost wedding here. I know what others have spent.. and mine was 1/3 that. It's all about what you want and whats important to you ;) -

We are hosting our wedding in 2017, so I will have to post a review after the ceremony and reception to detail how things go, but I have to say everything up until this point has been exemplary. Amy and Kirby are responsive via email and always answer my questions and address concerns in a timely manner. We cannot wait until our wedding day and we are so excited to host our special day at the Blue Dress Barn! -

What can I possibly say, it was the wedding of our dreams. I could not have asked for a more perfect day. The venue was more beautiful than i could have imagined. I booked sight unseen, and visited three weeks before the wedding, just to see it in person. The staff was kind, responsive to emails and questions, and Tasha was really fun and sweet when we visited. Everything went really smoothly. We did book a hotel room to get ready in, and i am glad we did, the bridal suite is pretty, but small. I put my dress on there and it was wonderful for that, but would not have fit our whole bridal party, there were a lot of us! I absolutely love how the barn looks, you really don't have to do very much to personalize it or decorate it! It looked stunning on the day, i really couldn't believe that it was so beautiful for us on our day. Thank you so much for having us and for making our day so amazing, we will never forget our beautiful day at the blue dress barn, and are so very thankful to have spent it there! -

The Blue Dress Barn is a STUNNING place to hold a wedding. Our guests were blown away with our venue. Amy is fantastic with communication during the planning process. This was the first venue we saw and we were sold within seconds. It's not the easiest place to hold a wedding due to the rustic setting, but for us it was a labor of love and we wouldn't change a thing! -

My future husband and I found just what we were looking for when we found Millcreek Barn. I've been to plenty receptions at hotel ballrooms, and knew that wasn't for us. I just adored the charming, somewhat eclectic feel of the barn and surrounding grounds. The details were simple but effective. Kirby and Amy were very fair and professional, and even let us shoot our engagement photos on the property. It's been 3 1/2 years, and I still hear comments from our guests that our wedding was unforgettable! -

I had my wedding at the Blue Dress Barn just over a week ago, and I wish I could do it all over again! I say that because not only were the owners - Amy and Kirby - easy and lovely to work with, but the venue itself truly is unparalleled in beauty anywhere else! Kirby was very nice and easy to work with as far as the business side of things, i.e. detailed emails outlining cost, FAQs, etc. And Amy was just as sweet as can be. You can really tell that she enjoys helping you plan your special day, and goes out of her way to communicate anything you might need in the months leading up to the event. We visited the barn a couple of times before the wedding day to figure out the logistics, and each time Amy (or one of her equally wonderful staff) was there to greet us, answer questions, and show us around. Now to the venue! The beauty of the barn, as well as the grounds it is situated on, are truly breathtaking. I first found the space online, but when I finally saw it in person, it blew my expectations out of the water. Every guest at my wedding told me they had never been to a more intimate, beautiful wedding venue, and I have to agree. I cannot recommend this place enough - from the staff, to the service, to the attention to detail - the blue dress barn absolutely made my wedding what it was, and that was THE most perfect day. Thank you so much, Amy and Kirby!! -

Our wedding this past August at Blue Dress Barn was amazing!!! We found Amy and Kirby a pleasure to work with~ Amy always responded to our emails in a timely manner and was very kind. Words can't describe how wonderful the barn is itself~ absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!!! Being from Chicago, our friends and family were all blown away with how cool the barn is~ the grounds are well-kept and gorgeous, and the inside is decorated adorable, making it easy to add our own decor and touches, but not having to go overboard. Our ceremony was outside the barn and was gorgeous with the natural, beautiful surroundings~ perfect garden wedding! And our pictures could not be better with the grounds and barn as backdrops. Though our wedding was in August, it was not too hot at all inside the barn for the reception, and the industrial fans provided worked great to circulate the air. The layout of the barn is fabulous~ the adorable bar and stage are great, and make the flow of the room and guests throughout the night work well. Our family and friends can't stop telling us how much they loved our wedding! If you are looking for a rustic, romantic, non-traditional place to have your wedding, this barn is it! We LOVED our wedding here!
I must say though, that unlike a banquet hall, golf course, hotel, etc... having our wedding at the barn was a lot of work~ we had to bring in all of our own vendors and any additional decorations we wanted, etc. When booking the barn, you receive the tables, chairs, and the barn~ but that's about it, so you need someone to help with everything else or you'd have one hectic, stressful wedding day. I would say a day-of wedding planner is an absolute MUST in order to handle the set-up/tear-down, as well as coordinate the entire day and be your 'go to' person, as the barn does not provide one for you, and Stella Events is the way to go for that. -

If you're looking for a beautiful outdoor venue for your wedding day, this is the place to have your wedding. Guests kept asking me "how did you find this place! This is the best location for a wedding we've ever been to!" It provided the perfect laid back, but elegant environment I was looking for. Also, the people who run the place, Amy & Kirby are very friendly and very helpful with any questions or concerns you have. Everything ran smoothly that night and we couldn't have picked a better location to have our wedding! -

We looked at a good amount of venues before settling on Millcreek, including Blue Dress Barn which has the same owners, but at the end of the day this was absolutely the right decision. The space is absolutely gorgeous and needed very, very little in the way of additional decor which was exactly what we were looking for. We got so many compliments on the venue, and if you have a chance to see it you'll definitely understand why. The space is set up a little differently than other venues with the dining area in one space, and the dance floor and bar in another, but it works well. It allows the guests who are more interested in chatting do that either in the dining area, outside, or near the firepit while letting those who want to dance really cut loose. Did I mention the firepit?! We were able to have a s'mores table set up which was a big hit and gave the younger guests something to do. I was genuinely shocked at how many guests used the area and got down on some s'mores! Kirby is incredibly responsive and offered great suggestions prior to the day to make sure everything ran smoothly and the guests were well taken care of. We did have our wedding in October so an additional heating charge was instituted, but because the day was so warm, it was immediately refunded when the day was over. I've found all their costs to be completely upfront and you get well above what you pay for in my opinion. I can't imagine ever having our wedding anyplace else. It was perfect. -

I got married at Mill Creek Barn, Amy and Kirby also own Blue Dress barn and Sundance studios.
Let me start off my just saying that wedding planning wasn't my favorite, I lived 3 hours away from the venue. Amy and Kirby made it easy to get things done. I mainly worked with Kirby and he was great. Wehad a phone conversation and it was like I had known him for forever. He made me feel comfrotable and content. Amy was great with getting me names of vendors and her opinions on them. The only problem was the week before the wedding and I was losing my mind because we went out to that side of the state we week prior to our wedding and the house was horrible with wifi so answering emails was a nightmare. We tried to get ahold of Kirby to just go over things on last time but through the lack of wifi and phone tag, it was not the greatest time. However, we got through it and everything was PERFECT!
The venue itself is jaw dropping. Everyone talks about Blue Dress and Sundance and for obvious reasons. However, Mill Creek is where it's at. We went with a fancy touch to the barn "theme". Greenery every where, mercury glass, candles, it was absolutely stunning. The barn staff were amazing. They talked to you as if they have known you for years, and they were great with my guests. Everyone was blown away by how beautiful this barn is, and how its set back in the middle of the woods. I was so sad packing up everything knowing I wouldn't be back to the barn.
One thing that made me nervous was making sure we and all the vendors were out of there by midnight, or we would be charged. I would suggest to new brides considering any of these three venues to be organized and apoint certain people to do things so you aren't running around like a crazy person. It went better than I had thought and we made the deadline!
Overall, I have not a bad thing to say about this venue or owners. I will rave about this spot for years to come! Thanks Amy, Kirby & The Mill Creek staff! xo -

Stunning Wedding Reception Venue
Sundance Studios is an incredibly beautiful venue. We live on the West Coast and reserved Sundance in the early stages of the pandemic, so were unable to tour the venue in person when we decided to book. The photos online looked gorgeous, but we were pleased to find it was even more stunning when we were finally able to see it person. Our guests loved this venue. We got endless compliments on it. We also really liked that Sundance has both indoor and outdoor areas, so we could have an awesome dance floor and also space for guests to play lawn games and socialize outside. We had lots of children at our wedding and having the outdoor space was especially great for the kids. Amelia was very responsive throughout the wedding planning process. She always responded to my (many) questions very promptly. It’s clear that the staff at Sundance are experienced at hosting weddings - very professional. We are so happy that we decided to have our wedding at Sundance. -

Amazing, unique, totally "us"
Beautiful venue. We received countless compliments on the grounds--it truly was a magical place. Would not have picked any other venue for our special day. So unique, well-kept, clean, open, and 90% decorated (leaving us with not much to do the day-of). Amelia, the owner, was very quick to respond to emails and answered all of our questions. She was great to work with through emails, although we never met her in person or worked with her directly. All of our in-person meetings were done with the grounds manager, Sara, who you will see whenever you are at the venue. We never felt like we were personally wronged by Sara, but my husband and I did find her to be a little standoffish and, at times, rude, which we found to be mildly off-putting. Otherwise, she made the day-of run very smoothly and you definitely get the sense that she knows what she is doing. I also appreciated her honest opinion at times of uncertainty (so take all of that with a grain of salt). A couple notes: during the rehearsal the evening before the wedding, which was only a 1-hour period, we noticed many ticks on each other (at least 3 or more). They did allow us to spray the grounds the morning of the wedding which helped immensely; we never noticed a bug problem the day-of. Also, if you decide on this venue: find vendors who have worked at this venue before. We were lucky and all of our vendors had worked Millcreek many times previously, so they knew exactly what to expect. For example, there is zero cell service. Do NOT hire a DJ who needs WiFi to play their music. Also, there is only a very small sink for the caterer to use. Make sure your caterer or plate/linen rental vendor knows this (our rental vendor required the plates to be rinsed before getting packed away, and this made things a little difficult with such a small sink. I believe our caterer came up with a solution of using a large tub to rinse the dishes in, which was fine but did need to be discussed and reviewed prior to wedding day). Overall, I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, natural, unique wedding experience that your guests will absolutely love. -

Perfect Wedding Day!
Got married October 30th at Millcreek Wilde & everything was perfect! As all you current brides to be know, due to covid... planning the wedding was HELL. We had considered postponing, but luckily Amy and Sarah worked with us in rolling through the punches. Times are weird for everyone right now, gotta keep that in mind during the process of planning through the chaos we currently live in. The location as a whole is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Even though covid has messed with every aspect of life, we have the wedding memories that we wanted. Thank you Amy and Sarah! -

The Barn Everyone is Talking About!
After visiting over a dozen venues, I kept going back to BDB, due its beautiful barn, outdoor settings and its detail throughout. Blue Dress Barn picked our wedding date and it was well worth the wait! Amy was always available to answer any questions and was fast to send us updates to seating charts when we needed it. Guests are still talking about how beautiful the barn and wedding setting was! Late in the planning process, we switched to the grassland ceremony site and it was beautiful! We used their vendor list and the BDB staff worked well all the vendors we booked. We have no regrets, if we could give more than 5 stars we would! -

My husband and I just got married this past holiday weekend at Millcreek Barn. This venue is absolutely breath taking ! Kirby, Amy, and the staff were extremely helpful
during my planning and the day of our wedding. Kirby the owner can be a little dry at times but overall was a pleasure to with. Less is definitely more at Millcreek Barn, I did a lot of DIY projects for our wedding but there's no need to go over the top the Barn speaks for itself. Thank you for making our day everything we ever imagined, our guests are still talking about the barn! I would do it all over in a heartbeat.
Thank you!

Millcreek Barn is absolutely beautiful. I immediately knew that it was the venue for us. It fit with the laid back country atmosphere we wanted to create. Kirby and Amy are easy to reach and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. It is a little pricey with all the fees included-read the contract carefully for all the rules on what is allowed and not allowed. But, overall it didn't stop any one from having a fabulous night, I've heard from so many guests how stunning the venue was. we couldn't have asked for more. our guests loved it, we loved it and I would recommend it to anyone -

Mr. & Mrs. Briske were helpful right from the start answering all of my emails and questions, which eased my nerves about planning a wedding across the state. The venue was absolutely beautiful and perfect....everyone complimented on the location. It was so nice to have a day of coordinator provided by barn management, who helped our officiant make ribbons for our hand fasting ceremony because they didn't make it across the state. The day was simply perfect and the weather couldn't have been better. It was difficult to try and set up a meeting time to see the barns in person due to our busy work schedule and the limited availability by the barn, but it all worked out! Thanks again for everything!! -

This venue is beautiful. I got married in July and the trellis was covered in gorgeous flowers whose petals floated softly down and birds sang in the background throughout the whole ceremony. Seriously, beautiful. The barn was also perfect, the windows made it feel open and airy. I absolutely loved getting married at this venue. I do wish the vendor would allow for the hanging lanterns to be taken down, though. I'm not a fan (though everyone else tells me they looked great) - but I really wanted the rafters of the barn to be more visible. -

This barn MADE our wedding! It is gorgeous inside and out including the grounds. Very little decorating is necessary because the place is a work of art and has so many small details that really fell into our country casual/barn formal wedding theme. It's very martha stewart! If you're looking for a formal event with elaborate elegance, this may not be the place to implement those ideas--it's just not a mesh of themes. For us, it's exactly what we wanted. Amy and Kirby are very talented artists and designers and extremely kind. We had a little snaphoo with booking, but once that was worked out, everything went very smoothly. Make sure that you read the contract fully to understand what is included in the price. For example, we had to turn on the heaters and also used the grounds for our cocktail hour...these were additional charges that I overlooked. There is another older barn on the property that lent itself perfectly for photos. Parking lot is all grass..not sure how that would work if it was raining...luckily we had a beautiful day. The other nice thing is that you can bring in all your vendors which is a huge money saver on things like alcohol. One suggestion I would make is to hire a day-of coordinator to receive and orgainze all your vendors (band, caterer, etc) as this is not a service that is provided. This place goes like hot cakes. If you think this is the venue you want and they have an open date, BOOK IT, because it likely won't be available days later. -

We had the BEST time hosting our wedding at Blue Dress Barn!! Our guests loved the venue just as much as we did, and we've gotten rave reviews on everything from the beautifully maintained grounds and artfully decorated barn, to the amazing vendors we chose -- almost all from the owner's high recommendations on their referral list. The barn staff was so attentive, helpful and accommodating. We felt well taken care-of, and our guests had the time of their lives. Even the handful of guests who were very skeptical of the barn wedding concept were blown away and can't stop talking about what a beautiful venue it is and how much fun they had. It was the perfect venue and the perfect day. We couldn't be happier! -

The only advice I would have is to not charge extra for taking down the flags above the dance floor, maybe have them down and if people want to add it them to charge instead of charging clients to take away a feature instead of adding it. -

The venue is gorgeous. The staff was wonderful. Amy was great to work with ahead of time, and the girl who worked the night of (I think it was Tara?) I am told my husband who had set up was extremely helpful, and worked her tail off to get the place looking beautiful for the wedding, even helping folding napkins which is not part of their standard service. I'd absolutely recommend it.
The only drawbacks are that they do have a lot of fees to watch out for... extra charges for using the ceremony site, they don't have a liquor license so you have to buy that, any of their supplies have a cost, cost for heating if it's a colder day... Just make sure you review the contract carefully to know what you're getting into with expenses. Everything is laid out in it except I think the liquor thing -

This venue is absolutely beautiful, we received so many compliments from our guests about the venue and how perfect it was! Very happy we decided to do our wedding here! The price of the venue was pretty competitive considering all of the tables and chairs, set up, and clean up is included in the initial fee. However, if you want anything extra, such as the rehearsal (even down to using the chalkboard sign), there will be an extra charge. Amy was pretty good about communication but I did have some e-mails go unanswered. Also, because they do weddings every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, our wedding rehearsal was at an awkward time. All in all, we loved the venue and are very happy we picked it! -

We had out wedding at MillCreek in August of 2017. I like to think of our inspiration for our venue to be "classy rustic" and that's exactly what MillCreek did for us. We really wanted a barn feel but didn't want some dirty/dusty/shaggy looking place. We also wanted a very classy, clean and elegant reception. Having both the clean rustic feel and classy elegant style all on one place, is what we loved about MillCreek. It is also very secluded from the outside world, unlike a lot of wedding factory ballroom type places. The venue made is feel like our wedding was truly about us and the people we were with. The grounds were very well kept up and the bridal cottage and groom cabin were the perfect touch for hanging out before the ceremony. We did have to bring in our own vendors but Amy made it fairly easy by handing out a suggestion list of local vendors. Since it is such a small town, most of the local vendors know the venue already. Everything looked absolutely gorgeous for the ceremony and reception and I received a lot of compliments on how awesome the venue was. If you're looking for something very unique, elegant, rustic, outdoorsy and off the grid where you are able to create your own dream and visions, MillCreek is the place for you. -

MillCreek barn was the very first venue we looked at in our search. We were blown away with how unique, beautiful, comfortable, and private the space was for a wedding. The outdoor ceremony site is gorgeous! We saw it in the middle of December and loved it even without all the greenery and flowers (which were incredible for our August, 2016 wedding). While the price may be high, you get so much more than a generic banquet hall. Very little decoration and setup are needed because it's already decorated in a rustic chic / artsy style, and they will set up all tables and chairs for you. The owners are really friendly and easy to work with. Our guests keep telling us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! -

While a little difficult to contact initially (I called and emailed while they were on vacation), this vendor was absolutely wonderful to work with. They allowed me to come out multiple times to view the facilities since I was my own coordinator. Kirby, the owner and manager of the Millcreek Barns, is meticulous with the property's appearance, regardless of the time of year. From early spring when I first visited without three feet of snow to October when I got married the place was always spotlessly clean, lawns well groomed, attention to details in the decor and design of the barns, and a system in place to help brides easily determine the plan for the day of the wedding. I highly recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for country elegance with a lot of flexibility. We were able to hire each vendor individually, from the bar tenders, to purchasing the liquor, to the DJ to the caterers, cake, and flowers. I have to say that it was the most perfect day and better than I hoped for in my dreams. We held the ceremony outside because the weather was perfect on October 1st. Millcreek does provide a list of vendors that they recommend, and we used some people from that list, but they were fine with bringing in our own people as well. We did need to provide proof of liability insurance for the bar service as they do not hold a liquor license, but Kirby was helpful with that also. This was exactly what I wanted, it was a lot of work to plan every detail, but totally worth it. There are a lot of weddign coordinators in the St. Joeseph, MI area that work with Millcreek all the time if that is more your style, and they have done a lot of beautiful weddings, but I am too much of a control freak to turn it over tosomeone else :) Thank you to Kirby and Amy for a beautiful wedding!
The only downside is that the barns are located where barns are usually located, in a rural area with few accomodations nearby. We stayed at Surfari Joes in Watervliet, MI and had a VERY difficult time with the hotel changing ownership and general lack of customer service. The rooms are nothing special, but were fairly clean, but expensive for what you get. But, they are 10 minutes from the Barns and the next closest option is about 25 minutes away. We hired a shuttle service charter bus to take our guests to and from the wedding, which I would highly recommend to anyone with an open bar like what we had. Even though the hotel was lousy, I would not go back and change it because it is so convienient to the barns.
Hope you find this helpful - and congratulations! Have fun planning :) -

Absolutely GORGEOUS venue. I have heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone at my wedding. I keep getting asked how I found the place. No regrets at all! I'm so glad I had my reception there! In terms of my feedback, in all fairness to the vendor, any frustrations I had were mostly due to the fact that it was still under construction at the time I booked it, so they were unable to answer many questions until later. That should not be a problem anymore. The ONLY major downside is that the barn does not have linens for the tables, so you have to provide those yourselves. Hopefully at some point, the barn owners will create a list of all of the tables available and their sizes. That would help a great deal with planning. -

The most beautiful place on earth. So thrilled we were able to book this for our ceremony and reception. Perfect, enchanting outdoor venue. Pre-decorated with paper lanterns and twinkle lights, cloth flags and chalkboards. Minimal effort to make it your own space for your big day. Owners (Kirby and Amelia) are generally friendly, but are fairly no-nonsense and were at times difficult to connect with for planning purposes. Lots of rules in the fine print (no sparklers, no glitter, strict time limits, etc.) but otherwise pretty accommodating. Worth it all to get this venue - book it while you can! -

We had our ceremony and reception at the Blue Dress Barn on a Sunday in August and it was absolutely beautiful. The outdoor cocktail hour was beautiful and the barn is full of delicate picture worthy details. We lucked out with 75 degree perfect weather, there is no AC in the barn so 5 degrees hotter would have been uncomfortable. We bought hand fans for our guests which kept them cool during the ceremony and when it got warm on the dance floor.
The venue is beautiful and all of our guests loved it and raved about the barn. As someone who was planning from out of state, Amy was very helpful. She answered my questions in a timely manner and made useful suggestions. They have weddings Fri, Sat, Sun and therefore have very specific times allotted for rehearsals and a pre wedding walk through. I was not able to be in town during the specified walk through times so I was not able to walk through the venue until the rehearsal. The venue mangers are pretty hands off at the rehearsal and wedding day so I suggest getting a day of coordinator to handle your vendors and set up. Our coordinator really helped move things along and keep the day stress free.
We loved our wedding day at Blue Dress Barn and couldn't have had a more special day! -

My husband and I absolutely fell in love with Millcreek Barn the second we saw it. The barn is rustic, yet elegant, and situated amongst beautiful gardens. It is a very laid back, comfortable venue, and our guests really enjoyed being able to sit in the dinning hall, the dance hall, by the bonfire, outside in one of the many "picnic" type areas... People could wander about and just get comfortable which all really loved. We had countless comments on how unique and beautiful the venue was, which was great to hear from our many out-of-state guests.
Although I am glad that we chose this venue, there are some things to be aware of. There are a lot of costs that go into renting this hall. You are charged per person, and there are lot of extras such as high top tables which are pretty much a necessary in the dancing area since this is seperate from the dining area. Also, linens are not included. It cost over $600 to rent linens from the nearby Taylor rental, so when you throw that on top of the cost for the barn for 140 guests you quickly start approaching 4k just for the venue and linens. Just be prepared for that if you do book here. This is also a DIY venue, so you are in charge of hiring all the other services... catereer, dj, bartender... Southwest Michigan has some fabulous vendors, and don't be afraid to steer off of the "recommended vendor" list for catereers provided by the barn - they list off some of the most expensive in the area.
You are not able to get into the barn until noon the day of (unless you pay extra for the night before, if there isn't a Friday night wedding booked which there typically is). I was unable to get pictures before the wedding of the bridesmaids and me because there simply was not enough time to set up and then get ready before the 4:30 ceremony. This is not an air conditioned venue, and although the fans do help to keep it comfortable in the evening it was HOT while we were setting up and numerous people were having to go back and forth to hotels to take additional showers and such. Everyone was so stressed trying to set everything up that it was hard to enjoy the beauty of the barn... at least the guests did. SO! Get a posse of relatives to do it for you or a planner... which is another cost. I would gladly have paid a few hundred or so more to be able to get in at 8 in the morning and get everything set up so I could worry about just enjoying being pampered and such in the afternoon.
Overall I am very happy with the venue and so excited to see the pictures. Just wish I would have had more time to enjoy it myself since I was so busy trying to get everything taken care of in the limited time they allow. -

There is no doubt that Millcreek Barn is a beautiful venue! The barn is adorable and rustic and the gardens are kept up seasonally. Here is what you need to know about Millcreek- Kirby and Amy are the owners (they also own Blue Dress Barn and Sundance Studios)- they were easy to work with and very responsive to e-mails (usually within 24 hours). When you set your date/sign the contract/put the first payment down you will receive a detailed contract explaining what you can/cannot do within their venue. At this point if you want any extra add ons (example- date change, renting the grooms room, bridal studio etc..) it will cost- the costs can easily add up. Prior to your wedding you will meet with a day of coordinator- here is the catch- this amazing coordinator is only there during the day 9am-5pm.. so when your wedding begins after 5pm she will be gone and the "night staff" takes over. Our night staff consisted of two underdressed individuals (seriously- no dress code- they looked so unprofessional!) who were both more interested in talking to each other then helping out at the venue. If i could go back in time I would (and would highly suggest) hiring a non-family member as a day of coordinator. You will not receive ANY help from either of the two night staff members.... which after working with Amy and Kirby it was an expectation of mine that all staff members would be as professional as them (not the case). We also had issues with the woman's bathroom- the toilet had been clogged at the wedding the night before- was "working" when our wedding started and then was clogged again by dinner time- so we were down to 2 bathroom stalls for over 50 woman- meaning a constant line. We did receive a small refund from Kirby after a couple of e-mails/phone call. Overall our wedding was beautiful and fun had by all!! -

This site is absolutely beautiful! It is well priced for everything that is included, and the staff is eager to work with you to plan your special day. They can be a little difficult to communicate with and don't respond very promptly to emails, but other than that, our experience with Millcreek Barn has been wonderful! -

Really beautiful location with well thought out design. Gorgeous photos we took on site show it best. We got so many comments about how "beautiful" and "perfect" the barn was from our guests, also many comments about how they thought they were going to get lost driving home (very rural location, about 15 minutes from town). -

There's no doubt that the Blue Dress Barn is absolutely beautiful and a one-of-a-kind wedding venue. Overall, the day was absolutely perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. There's something to do there for everyone whether they're into dancing, drinking, roasting s'mores around a campfire, playing cornhole (we brought our own) or whatever else you can imagine. Not one of our guests complained OR went home early. It was perfectly perfect and everything I imagined my wedding day to be. (It even rained so that's how amazing it was!)
However, during the planning process and post-wedding wrap-up things (and $$) tend to add up quickly. Trying to plan an out-of-state wedding was difficult, let alone plan one in an empty barn. While yes, they have things you can rent (like extra tables, chairs, stands, etc.) you never really know how it's going to look/where you want it unless you book extra "time" in the barn for $$. We were allowed 1 walk-through 2 weeks prior to the big day. While we received adequate service and attention during our walk-though, barn staff were extremely rude to a woman (mother of the bride getting married THAT DAY) who arrived a mere 15 minutes early. Poor woman. We (or I) was on edge the rest of our meeting.
Post-wedding, we received an e-mail from the barn owner that one of our vendors didn't finish packing up until after midnight and that he had already charged our credit card an extra $300+. I'm not disputing the charge at all as we did sign the agreement that everyone would be out by midnight. However, no where in the e-mail was there any explanation as to who was late, what happened, and our credit card was just automatically charged without us approving. Not the biggest of deals, but I do feel that as a business owner, there should be more explanation regarding these charges BEFORE you actually charge their credit cards.
Overall, I wouldn't change a thing and I'd work with them again, just a bit more cautiously. :) -

Beautiful venue
This venue is absolutely beautiful! The lush greenery was enhanced by our gorgeous florals courtesy of Marco Alexzondra, who I highly recommend. There were so many cool spaces here between the bonfire pit, bridal cottage, grooms hut, and open venue grounds and many of our guests shared it was the most beautiful venue they have ever been to.
Our original date was May 2020 and we rescheduled to September 2020 due to COVID. We reduced our guest size to 60 and were able to safely distance throughout the venue, it was very open and airy and the weather this time of year was perfect. We also set up a zoom ceremony but due to the remote location, the cell service was a little rough so if you are going this route you may choose to record video and offer that option vs. live stream. The venue staff on-site were so nice and they also wore masks the entire time for safety.
Planning our wedding during COVID was a rollercoaster but at the end of the day we are so happy we went through with a modified plan and were able to marry. We recommend couples review their contracts carefully to fully understand each vendor’s policies, since the future of COVID is still unknown and some vendors may be more flexible than others in accommodating changes. -

The Blue Dress Barn is a BEAUTIFUL venue. Our event turned out perfect, but I wish I had known that I would be paying for each item that was "traditional decor" for the barn to be removed so that I could make the venue my own. -

Proceed with caution
First, I would like to say that Sundance (and its sister venues) are incredibly beautiful. We originally booked, despite some negative reviews regarding interactions with one of the owners, because it seemed like our dream venue. Our initial booking process was with Amy (who was quite kind) but afterwards switched over to Kirby, whose customer service voice could use some improvement.
Their contract heavily favors the business (which is not uncommon), but unfortunately that became quite problematic when covid hit. They required payment in full 6 months in advanced, so we reached out prior to the date payment was due to discuss what would happen in the event we would be unable to host our wedding as planned and were met with quite a bit of rigidity and abrasiveness. Originally it sounded like we would be on the hook for paying in full for the venue twice in the event that we would need to reschedule due to covid or government mandates regarding gathering sizes. Although we were fully prepared to pay extra to reschedule or take a less desirable date, paying in full for a venue twice was unfortunately a risk we could not take.
Although we were later offered some additional options, the overall tone and lack of flexibility in our interactions with the vendor when discussing our concerns raised some serious red flags about what it might look like should additional issues arise or the need to reschedule actually occurred.

They took our money
Our wedding was scheduled during the pandemic and unfortunately needed to be cancelled. After poor and unprofessional communications from the venue owners, we were given the options to either pick a Thursday we didn't want later in the year, or postpone until next year, they keep the money we already paid, and we have to pay all over again for next year with a small discount, so paying double for the same wedding. They have been difficult to work with and have ruined what is supposed to be the best day of our lives. We are currently in communication with 13 other brides who also had their money taken by these people with no wedding or services of any kind. There are multiple complaints to the Attorney Generals office about them and multiple news articles about them. They even give an evil smirk when they're interviewed and talk about how a technicality in the contract is protecting them. They know they're screwing everyone and they don't care. I promise you any contract you sign with them moving forward will have very tight language and if anything out of the ordinary happens at all, they will keep your money and smile in your face. Please choose a wedding venue with compassion that cares about their guests and not these horrible owners! -

Appalling customer service
I really wish we could give a 5 star review of Millcreek, but unfortunately we cannot. We decided to have our wedding at Millcreek based on a referral. Sadly, we will not be referring Millcreek to anyone who would inquire.
Let me be upfront. The venue is beautiful. Our family and guests, who went above and beyond, made our wedding magical. It is because of THEM that our day was so special.
So here is our review and bear with me, quite long. Our ceremony started at 4:30. Our bridesmaids were at the venue first along with staff and vendors. One of our bridesmaids went to use the bathroom (before guests had even arrived) and the toilet was full to the top with water. This was around 3:30/4ish. She went to tell the manager, Sarah, of the issue and proceeded to use the other stall. While in the other stall, Sarah was plunging the toilet and sewer water proceeded to come up through the drains of the floor. Our bridesmaid quickly picked up the skirt of her dress as to not get wet and get out of the bathroom. At this point the bathrooms (men and women’s) are closed and unusable. Please keep in mind, THIS WAS BEFORE OUR GUESTS HAD ARRIVED.
We have our ceremony, cocktail hour, intros (still cannot use the bathrooms) and head into dinner. At this time in the evening it had started to rain which added an additional element to this unfortunate circumstance. We can certainly acknowledge the effort that a plumber was called (we were sent a receipt for proof) but frankly, that is what I would expect a business to do plain and simple. We could hear constant flushing during the prayer right before dinner. This puts the timing at about 6:30. THE TOILETS WERE DOWN FOR 2.5HRS AT THIS POINT!
So finally the bathrooms are working. We cut our cake, have first dances and continue on with our party when my wife is pulled aside by the manager and asked if she could talk. Why? Because the toilets are not working again. She proceeds to blame our guests for throwing brown paper towels and tampons down the toilet. The brown paper towels and tampon could have easily been from the 250 person wedding the night before. Then she said it is going to start getting expensive for all of us and quotes the price of the emergency plumber. The manager then asks if the DJ could make an announcement to our guests to not throw brown paper towels and tampons down the toilet. You can imagine how stunned my wife is at this time. In addition, this was an adult’s only wedding. We are all grownups and would never put brown paper towel/tampons down the toilet.
One of our bridesmaids steps in to talk with Sarah, realizing how upset my wife is at this time. She had been informed that brown paper towels and tampons have backed up the toilets. That the bartenders are walking through the sewer water coming up through the drains. In addition, we now have guests who need to relieve themselves outside in the rain. The doors to the bathrooms were blocked off with chairs as well so the ability to wash ones hands was not possible. Now we have a hygiene issue for our guests AND the bartenders! This is simply unacceptable. Bathrooms are down again for another 1.5hrs and a plumber is called.
Let me address the response from the owners. WE had to call them on that following Tuesday to discuss the issue at hand and the customer service was appalling. Amy acknowledged that what Sarah the manager did was not acceptable, but proceeded to explain that they are not at fault and how their entire waste system works. She didn’t realize that it was such a big deal at the venue because it wasn’t portrayed that way to her. Amy went on to say that other events that weekend had no problem. Certainly nice those other events didn’t have an issue, but we did! After explaining everything to her, she asked, “Well what is it you are looking for?” Even having to explain that we were looking for some compensation is mind blowing to us. She began to cry on the phone saying they work very hard to make every experience perfect. At which point, we were agreeable. Amy then said she will speak with her husband and get back to us.
Amy calls back and offers a refund of $250 for the heater deposit. At this moment we inform her that the heaters were never brought out and used and that $250 is simply unacceptable. We asked for a 25% refund. Not a full refund but 25% for the four hours that the bathrooms were down. You do the math. The lack of attention to detail for a major problem is an issue. She goes on to ask why we are so angry. We were stunned. We are told that she’ll have to talk with staff and her husband and will call us back later tonight. We never received that phone call. Instead we got an email, much like their response here, and we would be refunded $500. $250 of which we were already entitled to receiving. We emailed back that this was unacceptable and never got a response back.
There is no backup plan in place if this happens to another event. We were insulted by the lack of customer service for a day that we will never repeat. We are grateful to our friends and family who made our day amazing. Sadly, we cannot in good faith recommend MillCreek Wilde.

I would caution against booking this venue.
I would advise cautiously reading through the Blue Dress Barn's contract before working with them. Contracts are heavily weighed in the owners favor, and provide little to no protection for couples if any issues arise. A fair contract should have "force majeure" language. Also, asking for payment in full 6 months or more prior to your wedding day is not common business practice for wedding venues. I wish I had known to look out for these things prior to booking our 2020 wedding at the Blue Dress Barn. When Covid-19 became a global pandemic, the owners decided to not take any phone calls, and handled all communication through email. We tried negotiating fair terms for postponing our wedding to 2021, but we were given a series of take it or leave it options over the course of a few months, with absolutely no room to negotiate terms that both parties could find fair. After months of trying to negotiate and getting nowhere, we had lost all of the excitement we once had for hosting our wedding at their beautiful venue. Feeling like our options were to either take a deal that didn’t feel fair to us, or to walk away, we chose to walk away from our $4,500 investment, and canceled our wedding. The venue is truly stunning, but our experience was painful, and that's ultimately not what we wanted to remember about our wedding day. -

I recently held my wedding at Millcreek Barns as well. To say that Kirby is rude and a pitiful businessman is an understatement. Beginning from our first walkthrough to post wedding bills, he was a challenge to work with and was inflexible every step of the way.
-I scheduled our first walkthrough for a Sunday in February (emails to prove it). After driving from Chicago to Watervliet in a literal blizzard, he had the date wrong and wasn't around to show us the space. That wouldn't have been so bad, I understand human error, but he insisted that it was my fault and was totally rude (Amy later apologized for their mistake by email). Luckily we could walk around the space and see in the windows so the trip wasn't completely wasted.
-We envisioned a wedding with much more detailed decor from my company, Kehoe Designs and that seemed to offend him. He then charged us to adjust every tiny little thing...flags, paper lanterns, chairs, ceremony seating, you name it! He even charged money for "clean up" of an outdoor cocktail hour that was completely tables/bars/decor that my company brought in and took out...he had absolutely nothing to clean up.
-For being the "artsy" owners they seem to be, they don't seem to have any respect or appreciation for anyone's vision but their own. I believe they usually have pretty simple weddings there with not much decor because they seem to think that an entire venue can be cleaned up in a half hour. I wasn't about to pay to have the space until 1am and kick my guests out at 10pm just to make sure my decor crew could take everything down by their ridiculous 1am exit time. I understand guests leaving by 12:30am-1am for noise issues, but if they had any experience in larger scale weddings they would understand that teardown takes some time. I paid the extra $500 for overtime for my clean up crew without argument because it was in their contract and I expected the charge to come, but they need to reevaluate what they are asking for with a 12am standard exit time for everything (not just guests). This is one of the biggest days of their clients' lives...it's a party. After months and months of planning, who wants to end the event at 10-11pm just to make sure the venue staff gets home by 1am?? Welcome to the industry people--by opening a business in the events industry, you should expect some late nights.
-They do have a beautiful space, but I honestly don't know that being there was worth it to have to deal with Kirby. I would give all of my vendors 5 stars--they were amazing. DJ Guy Voss, Events Without Boundaries Catering (as good as any I have seen in the industry in Chicago, if not better), photographer Lindsey Shae, Skip from Millburg Trading Post for alcohol. Kirby Briske at Millcreek Barns I would give 1 star...and that's only because I liked the space for my style of wedding.
I will post pictures when I get them so you can see the detail I'm referring to! -

Downright cruel ownership
Our wedding was scheduled during the height of the pandemic lockdown in 2020, back when gatherings of 10 or more were not allowed by the state. We tried really hard to work with the ownership team on potentially moving the date/partial refund/etc. This was about 3-4 months out, so we had already paid in full, and they essentially told us to kick sand and that they'll 'see us on our original date.' Really unfortunate experience, the place seemed really nice otherwise. -

We deeply regret choosing this vendor
I was supposed to get married at Mill Creek in May 2021 (after rescheduling from May 2020) but could not in good conscience proceed with a party of 140-150 people during an ongoing pandemic. Even with just 50 people, there was no safe way to serve and eat a family style dinner or transport guests by coach to and from the venue, or dance on a dance floor, or take photos in a photo booth. Despite these facts, you’d be hard pressed to find two people who could care less about the logistics of your wedding and the wellbeing of you and your guests. Amy and Kirby’s terms were to “make it work” or forfeit the venue. Having lost family to COVID (and 500,000+ ppl nationwide), this is hardly a “choice” and should have been handled more professionally and reasonably. Our wedding was paid in full.
We were disappointed by MillCreek Wilde’s refusal to find an amicable solution whether that meant charging us a fee for a postponement in the same calendar year, reimbursing us a portion of our deposit, or offering us a weekday (we would have gladly taken even a Monday in fall 2021). Amy and Kirkby were not great at communication pre-pandemic, rude during postponement and outright uncooperative ahead of our May wedding date.
My husband and I are devastated and have given up on planning a wedding celebration altogether, in large part because MillCreek Wilde took a huge portion of our budget. We, like so many others, are grappling with the emotional and financial loss of what should have been the best day of our lives. I now have a wedding dress that I’ll never wear, decorations I’ll never use, a cake topper in a box, a first dance that’ll never happen; we were robbed of so much more than money thanks to the way that this venue chose to do business. I deeply regret choosing MillCreek Wilde and wish we’d entrusted better people with our wedding day.
While COVID is outside of all of our control, being greedy and callous in its aftermath is a choice. So just as Amy and Kirby claim that my husband and I had a choice to host our wedding or not, they too could have chosen a different way to go about business (and don’t just take my word for it either; read the other reviews!)
We are grateful to a few vendors who met us halfway, reimbursing portions of our deposits and ultimately proving that, even in matters of business, people really can retain a shred of integrity, but only if they want to.
It is also worth noting that there are several conflicts of interest from positive reviewers below, including one from our would-be caterer (Angela Lee of White Horse Catering).
Best wishes to the other couples in similar situations. -

Inflexible and unproffessional
My brother and fiance had a wedding planned here in July of 2020. It obviously couldn't happen due to the pandemic. Though they paid for a Friday, the venue would only allow them to book on a Thursday for the rest of the year. When they didn't want a Thursday (who would??) and didn't want to put family members with high risk pregnancies and heart conditions at risk before the threat of Covid was over, they wouldn't offer them a date in 2021 without having to pay the $5000 deposit all over again. When my brother and his fiance tried to negotiate, BDB wouldn't even give them a portion of the deposit back. Many other brides at this location are having the same problem this. No other wedding venues are treating their guests this way- many couples are getting either a refund or are allowed to book in the future without losing their deposit. Complete fail for BDB. -

In it for the $$$
My friends were supposed to get married at this venue and have been treated nothing but poorly along with the owners taking their money. A wedding is supposed to be one of the most memorable experiences of someone's life and the owners of this venue have had their own interests in place during these unique times in the world and could care less about my friends. This sounds like they are only in this business for the money and not the service and experience they offer. If I could rate 0 stars on here I would because of the pain this venue has out apon my friends. -

morally corrupt
My daughter was supposed to get married here this year. She took her MIL and myself on a tour after she booked her day with them, Amy was very short with all of the questions we had. Since we had already booked and it's a beautiful venue with good capacity and the ability to choose your vendors, we just let it go.
Fast forward a few months, due to COVID and deadlines with other vendors we needed to make a decision on what to do. It took the barns management weeks and many emails to get a response, though they had been VERY responsive with everything leading up to this. Knowing this is a hard time for everyone, we wanted to work together to find a solution that was fair in trade to both parties involved.
When they responded with few options that were not a fair trade value, we were still willing to accept as this puts everyone in a tough position and we understand they are a business that need to survive. After we decided on the ONE date they offered us at our venue, they wanted us to sign an addendum that stated we could NOT reschedule again, would lose all money paid & a gag clause with language that we could not talk poorly about them.
Uncomfortable with the fact that we couldn't reschedule again, especially with COVID looming over our heads with so many unknowns, we chose to seek out an alternative solution. We asked for a PARTIAL refund back, knowing that the barn couldn't shoulder the entire burden themselves. They were unwilling to negotiate anything, stating that they had lost so much revenue from this. Mind you, starting in march and continuing through the shut down, they were renovating the barn, some possibly necessary, some not.
My daughter is one of many brides stuck in this situation with them. They like to spin the narrative stating that they've rescheduled many happy brides and offered many fair trades at no cost to the couples. They are correct in the fact that they've rescheduled, but incorrect that they are all happy with the outcome. We've spoken to multiple brides that are still holding their weddings there and a few vendors that have first hand heard that these brides felt backed into a corner and had no other option. Their fair trades consisted of moving your wedding to a Thursday or Sunday, which would technically be cheaper and moving it to a DIFFERENT venue and if that didn't work for you, you could forfeit your ENTIRE investment and pay again to have your choice of day and location. With a $1,000 credit, but don't forget, they raised their 2021 prices.
MOST vendors are looking past their contracts and working with their couples. All of our other vendors have been fantastic. Refunding, rescheduling at no additional cost, traveling out of state with minimal extra fees and looking into other options for us, even if it didn't benefit them. Amy and Kirby, the owners, of The Blue Dress Barn, Millcreek Wilde and Sundance Studios are not one of them. They are greedy, money hungry people with poor business practices and morally corrupt values. -
