We’re so happy that we chose the Markows to take our engagement and wedding photos! From the first call they were kind, flexible, communicative, and just wonderful people. They immediately made us feel at ease during our engagement shoot. We could tell they were experienced and could use the environment and lighting to their advantage. On our wedding day, they were well-prepared and knew exactly where to be to get the best shots. They hyped us up and made us feel confident. Julianne and Steve were very excited to get a photo of us laying at the bottom of a spiral staircase and we were more than happy to trust their creative process - it ended up being one of our favorite photos. All of our pictures turned out absolutely breathtaking and captured the feeling of the day perfectly! -

Beautiful photos and wonderful humans
We cannot recommend the Markows highly enough. Not only have their photos always turned out to be truly stunning, but they take the time and put in the work to get to know the couples they work with as people so that they can truly capture that in their photos. They are responsive, warm, and make you feel so comfortable and taken care of. We absolutely love them and are so happy with all of the work they’ve ever done for us. We feel so lucky to have had them be a part of our day. -

We worked with The Markows for our engagement photos and for our wedding 08/30/2021. We had originally booked them back in 2018 for our 2020 wedding that ended up getting postponed to 2021 due to covid. We absolutely love their style of photography and knew that the moment we looked through their website and portfolio. If you are interested in more than the cookie cutter wedding photography these are your people! Working with them was a breeze - they always answered emails and questions in a timely manner and helped keep everything calm during a very stressful time of postponing. During the wedding we had an amazing time with them. We sometimes didn’t even realize they were there taking photos all night (which for a very awkward camera shy bride this was amazing and allowed me to really enjoy the day anxiety free). We cannot wait to see all of our photos from our big day and highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding! -

We absolutely LOVED The Markows. Their photos speak for themselves as to the quality of their work, but Steve and Julianne are also super great people. We wanted to hire someone who we vibed with and would feel comfortable spending most of the day with and they fit that bill easily. They shot a TON of amazing photos despite the fact it was humid and in the mid 90's outside all day (without a single question/complain) and the ceremony and venue spaces we're both incredibly dimly lit and the pictures reflected to feel of the room while looking as if the lighting was bright. They are artists who remained cool, calm, and collected during the craziest moments and we're just incredible about everything. Can't recommend them enough! -

Julianne and Steve captured the moments of our wedding day more beautifully than I ever could have hoped for. It was terrific to have them for ten hours, from getting all dolled up and ready to the end of the party. They kept everything on schedule for our many family portraits and their laid back temperaments kept us relaxed on our big day. The Markows found a variety of beautiful backdrops at our venue for our first look, bride and groom portraits, family portraits, and sunset photos that were a quiet and relaxing yet exciting break as husband and wife from the bustle of our reception. The Markows excel at capturing everything as it happens, so the only shot list we worked with was the one for our family portraits; they took care of everything for our photos. And our wedding photography was in extremely trustworthy hands with Julianne and Steve. I have some self-esteem issues and was worried about not liking how I’d look in my wedding photos, but I had nothing to worry about with the Markows, and I love having these beautiful photos that capture our day to cherish for years to come. -

Julianne and Steve are AWESOME. We knew from the first meeting that they’d be our photographers. They’re creative, relaxed, fun, and communicative. We sadly had to postpone our April wedding due to the Coronavirus and they were so flexible! We are so happy they were available for our new date! Plus, they will shoot our wedding for TEN hours! That is longer than any other company we checked out. So excited! -

Best Photographers Around!!!
Julianne and Steve were incredible all around! They were extremely professional both the day of, and leading up to our wedding. Communication prior to the wedding was extremely helpful, with consistently quick responses on any questions we had. They were timely and professional on the day of the wedding, and made sure both of us (as well as our bridal party) had a good time with the photos (and let us be our goofy selves). On top of all of that, the final pictures were OUTSTANDING. We could not have asked for a better experience, and they could not have captured the energy and emotion of the wedding any better. Would absolutely recommend them for any wedding / event! -

Julianne and Steve Markow took perfect photos of our intimate wedding day. They are so kind, professional, and talented! They both have a great eye for detail and took a variety of photos. Because our venue had a beautiful outdoor area, they really took advantage of that and utilized the whole environment to get some truly stunning photos of us. We couldn't be happier that we chose the Markows to capture such wonderful memories. -

I had been following The Markows photography for quite some time. I love that they capture raw emotions and aren't afraid of taking risks to get creative photos/angles . After having a consult with them and my now husband we loved their portfolio and overall vibe (they like to be flies on the wall, quietly clicking away). Our special day was seamless thanks to them. Not only did The Markows capture all our amazing memories, they helped guide us with recommendations for timeline and other vendors. Getting to relive our wedding through their beautiful photos, getting to see the special moments that happened around us, its overwhelming- It really validates how lucky we were in choosing The Markows. -

First - we would like to apologize for how late we are with this review because Julianne and Steve did an amazing job. The Markows were one of the first vendors we booked. I don’t think we even had our venue picked out yet, but we were sold as soon as we saw their work online. Our engagement photos and wedding photos are truly incredible and Julianne and Steve were so awesome to work with. I am usually very self-conscious in front of a camera, but these two really have a way of making you feel comfortable in your own skin. We still can’t get over how perfect our wedding photos turned out - we’re having a VERY difficult time picking out our favorites. The Markows really captured every important moment and emotion that we went through on our wedding day and every time we look at our photos we get to relive all of it. We can’t thank them enough for that. Highly HIGHLY recommend!! -

Danielle Sent on 09/06/2016Totally agree with Alia – if there were more stars to give, Steve and Julianne would have them! Hiring them was the best decision we made during the whole wedding planning process by far. We were blessed with an overcast day with just a little bit of rain at an outdoor venue with greenery and flowers galore which made for the absolute best wedding photos that I could have imagined. Steve and Julianne captured everything - every detail, every laugh, every tear - and somehow were able to capture the beauty and emotion of every one of those things perfectly. They were such a pleasure to work with from day one – super sweet, responsive, easy to talk to, seemed genuinely excited about our wedding and our ideas. If I tried really hard, I could still not come up with one less-than-glowing thing to say about them. My parents and in-laws both told me how much they loved them the day of, and all of my guests cannot stop gushing about the photos they took. Their blog post of our wedding day was heart-stopping. I can't believe that they got all of those shots or that this picture-perfect day was actually mine. I wish I could get married again so I could spend another day with them photographing me because they made me look more stunning then I have ever felt haha. Book them. Do it! You won't regret it :) -

They were so easy to work with and understood how crazy a wedding day can be. Just being able to look back and know that we dealt with pure professionals who are passionate about what they do is amazing. Booking them was the best thing I could have done for my wedding day and I would do it again in a heartbeat. They are worth it. Love them! -

I was out of town when choosing a photographer so we sat down on Skype for over an hour just getting to know each other. They are laid back, confident, professional, down-to-earth and their style is fantastic. We had a blast doing our engagement shoot and they drove two hours in the pouring rain to come shoot at our house. The day may have been gloomy but our pictures are out of this world. I can't wait for them to do our wedding. Just the coolest people you could have as your photographers. AND their wedding package isn't limited by hours. They provide all-day coverage with absolutely no time limit. The best! -

Pam Sent on 07/05/2011I can not express in words how FANTASTIC Markow Photography really is!! You will have to just see for yourself, but in the mean time let me try to put it into words.
Let me start off with their professionalism. The first time I contacted her she answered every question I asked; and yes, I was the bride that sent 10 emailed within a day, she answered every single one. She had also sent me over the price list via email which I LOVED because most photographers want to meet and then give you the pricing guide (hate that, because I wasted my time if they're WAY to over priced). We set up a meeting and she was there super early with everything lined up and ready to go. Again, she answered ALL my questions! My fiance (at the time) and I decided to book, she was just fabolous. She showed me previous albumns and clients work that she had done and it was just everything I dreamt of.
After we booked her for the wedding we did 2 engagement shots. Both, in New York City. She was willing to come all the way out with Steve and shoot the photos. Just GORGEOUS!!! Again, words could not express how beautiful the pictures were. At this point we were even more excited for her to shoot the wedding because of how fabolous our pictures from our engagement shoot were.
Finally, the wedding day. I arrived to my moms house after my hair and Julianne was already there snapping photos of my dress, jewelery, shoes, etc. She was there, but she wasn't...so inconspicous. I text my fiance and he said that Steve was over at our house getting pictures of the guys. HUGE bonus that there were 2 great photographers, one at each location. We made our way to the wedding and Julianne and Steve were there to catch every move; the dancing in the limo, the bride walking down the aisle, our first kiss as Mr. And Mrs.
We made our way over to the reception hall and they followed behind the limo. We took fabolous pictures on the beach and shots in front of the limo. Another great thing about Markow photography is they LISTEN. If you want certain shots, they will take them! I asked for a jumping photo of the bridal party...done and done AMAZING! Again, they anticipated my every move during the reception and got such great candid photos as well as some staged. They captured every emotion throughout the night. When people look at my pictures they say that they can feel the emotion from the wedding day and say they feel like they're reliving the day! (I have to agree, when I look at the pictures I can feel the day and I cry). And again, super inconspicious, not in your face and I didn't even notice they were there half the time...but they got phenomenal pictures, so they were in fact there during everything! If I ever wanted a picture of myself and other or just a picture of anything they were right there to take the picture...no questions asked.
So sad but true, the wedding was over. Now the waiting game......I have friends who were married for a month and had sitll not gotten any pictures or sneak peaks. I went on my honeymoon and arrived 2 weeks later only to find that my pictures were posted! I almost died...the pictures were more then we could have ever imagined. Every photo was priceless and I could just relive the day over and over in every single photo. I can not express how awesome it was to just go through the pictures and laugh, cry, and smile.
Markow Photography are priced EXTREMELY well and are simply the best there are. They were extremely flexible, so kind, and very professional. Your wedding would benefit so much with their help and pictures. They captured every emotion, moment, and the little touches that were in the wedding that you may not even notice on your big day because you are so busy. If you want someone passionate about their work, extremely friendly, and professional look not further.
I can not thank you enough for all the joy you brought to us Julianne and Steve. I wish you guys the best and you guys will hold a special place in mine and Matts hearts forever. Thank you again!
