Simply Magical – A Dream Wedding at The Mackey House!

There are truly no words to describe how incredible our daughter’s wedding day was—but I’ll absolutely try my best! The Mackey House is, without a doubt, the best wedding venue in Savannah. From the moment we drove down the breathtaking, tree-lined driveway, we knew this was the one. The grounds are absolutely stunning—the gardens, the fountains, the romantic ambiance—it all felt like a scene from a movie.

What truly set The Mackey House apart, though, was the exceptional staff. Every interaction was warm, positive, and professional. They were always smiling, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed.

A huge shoutout to Dave, who served as both the officiant and DJ. His great sense of humor had so many of our guests asking, “Where did you find him?!” He made the ceremony feel personal, heartfelt, and fun—truly unforgettable.

And an enormous thank you to Andie from Emerald & Ivy Events. Her bubbly energy, calm presence, and constant support throughout the planning process—and especially on the big day—were invaluable. She guided us through every step with confidence and joy.

Even a bit of rain in the forecast didn’t shake this incredible team. Dave tracked the weather closely and made the call to proceed with an outdoor ceremony—and it was perfect. Andie calmly worked behind the scenes with the in-house and vendor teams to ensure we had a solid “Plan B” in case weather forced a change, but we didn’t need it! Not a drop of rain fell during first-look photos or the vows, and the sun even peeked through the clouds as they said “I do.” Pure magic.

We loved how each part of the celebration had its own beautifully designed space: cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing—all thoughtfully laid out and seamlessly executed. The bridal suite and groomsmen’s “man cave” were perfect for getting ready. And at the end of the night, the staff packed up all of our decor and belongings, making cleanup and departure a breeze.

From start to finish, everything ran flawlessly. The Mackey House team made the entire day feel stress-free—for us, our daughter and son-in-law, and every guest. They treated everyone with such kindness, care, and love—it truly felt like they were part of our extended family.

Thank you, Mackey House, for making our daughter’s wedding dreams come true. It was the most magical day, and our guests are still raving about how beautiful and joyful it was!

Timeless and Elegant

This was such an incredible venue! I loved everything about it! From the whimsical setting to the amazing staff. Everything was perfectly planned and carried out with excellence. Every moment was right out of a dream. It was a fairytale experience and I couldn't picture my special day any better than it was. The property is gorgeous and so well kept. The staff were so professional and kind. Their experience is top-notch. They leave no stone unturned. My wedding was beautiful and stress-free thanks to the Mackey House!

Absolutely Amazing!

The Mackey House is a venue like no other. You truly step back in time. The grounds are so beautiful and the house is amazing. This was a destination wedding for us. It was the best decision we ever made. The wedding coordinator, Andie, was fantastic. She made sure the day ran smoothly and was a big help with planning and details. Diamond Dave was our DJ and MC. He was so much fun! My family and friends danced the night away and he made sure we had all the songs we wanted. It was truly a dream wedding.

Absolutely stunning venue and the best people to work with!

We got married at the Mackey House on 12/08/2023 and it was the most magical experience. You can’t find another venue this spectacular with even better staff and people to work with. Dave and the staff at the Mackey House made everything seamless for us. Our bridal party, guests and family were shocked at the beauty of this venue and the kindness that is crafted through the staff. As they say, the venue is your canvas and they give you the paint brush to create your own masterpiece with them. We couldn’t have had a more perfect day. Diamond Dave is there for you for the best DJ experience as well as your coordinator and officiant if you choose! Thank you for letting us be a part of the Mackey House experience. I wish we could do it all over again.

October wedding

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or staff to work with. Weddings themselves are more expensive than I could imagine but the Mackey House was worth every penny. We highly recommend Diamond Dave as well as Thrive who made our night all the more magical. If possible my husband and I would both go back and do it all again. There was only excitement on our wedding day instead of nerves. It was the perfect night ❤️

Gorgeous venue & amazing team

Thank you to the Mackey House team. After touring countless wedding venues, we thought we would never find one that had everything we were looking for. My mom and I stumbled on the Mackey House one night and instantly fell in love. All of the string lights, the gorgeous white house, the fountains and pond, the tents, the bridal suite/groom's room -- everything was perfect! The amazing staff was an added bonus. Shelley and her team were incredible and so on top of things leading up to our big day. The team there the day of was so attentive and truly cared about making our day so special. They kept everything running smoothly and made sure everyone was having a blast. It was truly the best day ever and we couldn't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else!!

The Mackey a house exceeded our expectations!

We truly can’t say enough about the Mackey House. Trey, Shelley and Dave were incredible to work with and the place itself is just breathtaking. I understand now why people here in Savannah say that’s it’s “The Wedding Venue”. We feel so blessed to have been able to have our celebration of love here.

Gorgeous venue, wonderful destination wedding

We live in Chicago but my husband is from Georgia used to vacation in Savannah. However, we chose Savannah specifically for this venue. We looked all of the country but I kept comparing venues to The Mackey House. We loved the Southern elegance of the venue. We got married at The Mackey House in May (5/14/23) and had the best evening. The grounds were impeccable, our guests were in awe of the beauty and the getting ready rooms were PERFECT for pictures. The house is on enough land to feel secluded and allow each part of the wedding to be in a different area. We got married in the garden (!), cocktail hour was outside the pavilion, dinner/toasts in the pavilion and dancing on the deck. We loved the flow of the wedding...as did our guests. Leading up to the wedding, I went down to Savannah a few times (w/ my husband, mom) to see the venue. Even in the winter they had a grounds crew working to improve the venue - planting flowers, taking care of the grounds. Even the owner was there. You could tell that they took pride in their venue and was committed to making the venue beautiful for their clients and guests. Shelley was wonderful - very responsive and provided great recommendations. Highly recommend getting married at The Mackey House if you are looking for an elegant Southern wedding!

A Dream Wedding!

Could not say enough good things about the Mackey House & their stellar team! We live in Brooklyn but my husband is from Savannah, and we had our hearts set on getting married there. They were so helpful in planning a beautiful wedding from start to finish. We got married on 5/27, which ended up being about 50 degrees and raining - not quite what we expected from a Savannah summer weekend! Shelley and Shavonne were in touch that entire week about creating the perfect rain plan. We ended up moving from the garden to the pavillion, where they set a fire and our guests crowded around for a beautiful, intimate ceremony, and the rest of the night went on as planned! All of their covered spaces had heat/AC and blocked any wind or rain coming through, so it still very much felt like an outdoor wedding. We truly wouldn't have changed a thing and so much of that is due to the creativity of the team

The Perfect Wedding Venue

From the moment I saw The Mackey House, I fell in love with it! I knew it was the one when I found myself comparing it to other venues I was looking at. When my husband and I went to tour the property for the first time, it felt surreal. We booked it that day and got married this past weekend! Leading up to the wedding, anytime we mentioned our venue to other potential vendors, they would gush about how much they loved The Mackey House and how amazing our wedding was going to be! It was safe to say we had high expectations, and they somehow surpassed them, making it truly the best day of our lives! All of my guests have been raving about how perfect it was, and particularly giving shoutouts to Dave! The team at The Mackey House made my wedding a special, unforgettable night for everyone!

BEST venue in Savannah

My husband and I got married this past weekend (2/4/23) at the Mackey House. We were completely blown away at our experience here. We worked with Dave and Shelley and they were so great and helpful throughout the entire experience. We will remember this night forever. The best feedback we got back from guests was “that was the best put together wedding I’ve ever been to, it was absolutely stunning!” & we couldn’t agree more. If you’re on the fence, just do it—you won’t regret it!

Absolutely Amazing!

We had our wedding at the Mackey House on November 18th and if I could give them 10 stars, I would! I cannot express how amazing the Mackey House truly is! Our wedding was a destination wedding simply due to my husband and I loving the romantic feel of Savannah, GA. From my first visit there, I knew it was everything I wanted in a wedding venue, from its long driveway through the trees, to its romantic southern charm. The venue was exactly what I pictured for my wedding day! We had our ceremony on the lawn, dinner in the pavilion, and dancing up on the deck; everything ran great! The Mackey House team were some of the best people I've ever met, they were all so helpful! I definitely recommend having Dave as both your day of coordinator and DJ; he's fantastic and listened to all of my ideas while also offering great recommendations of his own! While you do have to choose from a catering list they provide, Thrive Catering was perfect and everyone absolutely loved the food! The whole day was a dream and everyone put in the work to make my wedding dreams happen! All of my friends and family are still talking about how beautiful and amazing our wedding was! I cannot thank the Mackey House enough!

Perfect Wedding had a BLAST

I just got married here a week ago and it was awesome. Beautiful venue, the staff were the best and my friends and family had a great time. This venue has been doing events/weddings for a long time and they have it down to a “T”. I had a stress free day/night and my husband, guests and myself were well taken care of. The venue has a different decor packages, I went with the bare minimum that they offered and it was beautiful. The venue is already so pretty that you really don’t have to do much. If you book your wedding here, do yourself a favor and book Dave as your MC, your wedding event will be smoother than butter. The Mackey House also has a list of vendors that they work with for you to choose from and you can’t go wrong with what they recommend. Shelley (wedding coordinator) was a huge help when planning and trying to figure out all the details and avoid anything that could go wrong. Not to mention : this venue also has a rain plan - We did not need it, but I know they had one so that was one less thing to stress about (we did not bury a whiskey bottle - lucked out). Would 100% recommend this venue. Our guests (and us) were on cloud 9 during the event and even afterwards. Could not have had this awesome of an experience at a different venue. Also we did not have to lift a finger the whole night, they packed up all the stuff we brought/needed to take home and had it ready for us transport to our vehicles at the end of the night (pictures, left over party favors, whiskey barrel head we had signed by guests, flowers, etc). Amazing venue and staff and best experience ever!!!

Also idk how much was spent in total because my parents paid for it. I will say that it wasn’t cheap but we definitely didn’t go broke over it. If you get their bare minimum packages it’s still great (we did eventually upgrade to premium bar because my husband and my dad wanted mixed drinks)

Picturesque Lowcountry Wedding Venue

The Mackey House had absolutely everything we could have asked for in a venue and more. From the bride and groom suites, to multiple ceremony, reception and dancing locations and natural beauty around every corner, you really felt like you were tucked away in your own fairytale for a day. In addition everyone we spoke to was always kind and accommodating, doing whatever they could to answer every question and provide peace of mind. The day could not have been any more perfect in large part thanks to The Mackey House and their staff (especially Dave) working behind the scenes to make sure any hiccups were smoothed out.

10/10 Recommend!!!

The Mackey House exceeded all expectations!!! Shelley & Dave are unbelievably responsive and knowledgeable during the planning process! Chevon was fabulous and between her and Dave’s day-of coordinating, our day was PERFECT! The scenery is second to none and our guests said it was the most amazing venue they have ever been too!
We did the Magnolia package because we were doing a destination wedding and didn’t want to have to sweat the details- highly recommend! The Mackey does it right, they are so organized and everything went so smoothly! We had our ceremony in the garden, cocktail hour on the terrace, dinner in the pavilion and reception dancing on the covered deck. The flow was perfect and we loved the variety of options for each event! Thank you to all those working hard behind the scenes to make our day possible!! Everyone had a blast and the pictures are absolutely stunning!
We will relive our dream day for years to come.

The perfect venue!

If you are planning a wedding in Savannah, look no further than The Mackey House. My daughter's wedding took place there this past weekend and everything...and I mean everything...was PERFECT! Their staff is top-notch and attentive to every little detail. Shelley and Heather were with me every step of the way throughout the planning process and Dave the incredible DJ and "day of coordinator" made sure that the entire event flowed smoothly. His commanding presence, confidence, experience, energy, and humor were all much appreciated! Shavonne, Dave's assistant. was also an absolute delight- professional, helpful, an extremely organized. The Mackey House is truly the perfect wedding venue- our guests raved about the three settings all within steps of one another and all ideal for their purpose (ceremony in the garden, cocktails and dinner in the pavilion, and dancing on the deck)!

Breath Taking!

This venue is just stunning at every turn. The staff is professional and they know weddings inside and out. You will not have a care or concern about your special day if they are involved. I could not have asked for a more perfect setting for my daughter's wedding. After the event she told me it was more than she had ever hoped for. Mission accomplished!

Get On The Love Train

I can't believe that I'm just writing this review. I stepped out of the box and had an event called, "Get On The Love Train" at the Mackey House. No, it was not an wedding, but it was a "fairy tale" gathering with people from all over the country who came in the name of love. There is no better place on this earth to have a wedding or an event such as The Love Train. There are really no words. Only the real experience will speak for itself. Words can do it no justice. Everything was absolute PERFECT from the day I started planning until the last moment. I must repeat, there is no other place like this...........and there are no words to explain it. Shelly, Laura, Dave and all of the crew know how to make a dream come true. This event took place in May and all of my 100 guests from Chicago to New York are still talking about it the Mackey House.

Best venue ever

My wedding was Thursday, May 27th 2021 at The Mackey House and it was absolutely breathe taking. The property itself is so beautiful and has so many different area so that you feel spread out. When you add the florals from a local vendor, it only gets better... I know, hard to believe. Dave was our officiant and DJ, let me tell you, it was awesome!! He was the perfect director for the ceremony and had every detail structured for us, which is very helpful if you’ve never planned a wedding! He was so respectful during the ceremony and represented mine and my husbands love perfectly. During the reception, he was the best DJ ever!! I had so many complaints on the music. Dave played music in accordance with the rooms energy and it worked perfectly! Our experience at The Mackey House couldn’t have been the same with out him. We would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a beautiful and welcoming place to get married. If you do chose The Mackey House, don’t forget to book Dave for a great time!

Phenomenal!!

The most beautiful venue with the most excellent services. Dave was a great Director and DJ and I don’t think we could have made it through without him. Light ceremony lakeside, dinner in the pavilion, and dancing on the deck. The grounds and setting was as perfect as can be.

Absolute BEST venue in Savannah

The Mackey House made the perfect wedding possible for us. From the very beggining, the people at the Mackey House made the whole experience so easy and fun.
Dave! There's no words for Dave. He's the best thing that we could have done for our wedding. He put me at ease instantly and ensured me that he would take care of everything, and he did!
The actual Mackey House venue is PHENOMENAL! It was everything we could have hoped for and more.
All of our guest couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. The Mackey House family takes great care and pride in their venue and it shows in the big and small details of their property.
Overall, you would be remissed in not booking the Mackey House and Dave to be apart of your wedding. They will blow your expectations out of the water. They're exactly what you need to out your mind at ease for your big day!

Everyone loved the Mackey House. It’s so beautiful. They made everything come together exactly how I pictured it. They were great giving us recommendations for caterers and florists and officiants since we lived out of town! It made it fun and enjoyable instead of stressful. Love love love the Mackey house!!

Wedding of my dreams!

They were both always so responsive and made sure to put our minds at ease with everything. The venue itself is breathtaking, my guests still compliment it when they come around. It is so stunning and beautifully decorated. Every time we drove to the venue, coming around the corner and seeing the venue would literally make my jaw drop. It never got old, it was always such a beautiful experience. The day of the wedding, Dave was so helpful with everything going on and made me feel so comfortable so that I could just enjoy my day and then he was an amazing DJ at our reception. If you are planning on getting married at the Mackey house and aren't sure if you want to purchase dave's DJ services, let me be the one to push you to go for it. Our day wouldn't have been the same without him the entire ceromony and reception.My husband was actually deployed for a good amount of the year while we were planning so I was alone during most of the planning and Dave was sure to be so helpful and also was able to include my husband in the process which made me feel so much better. Beautiful and affordable

We had the entire place to ourselves for the wedding. Plenty of space for guests to explore and for us to have amazing photos. The staff is great in being flexible and helping you achieve your dream wedding.

I loved working with the Mackey House

I absolutely loved working with the Mackey House. Everyone was so nice and made sure everything was perfect and ran smoothly. Nicole is amazing at coordinating everything and Dave kicked butt as our DJ and wedding coordinator the day of. We ended up having a few minor issues and the staff handled everything beautifully. Could not have asked for a better team to handle our wedding day. 10/10 would recommend.

The Mackey house made for one beautiful wedding and is a fantastic value for the quality of service and location

The most special place in this world.

From the very start of my experience with the Mackey House everything was perfect. From my first time stepping on property for my tour they made me feel comfortable. Shelley was my go to person throughout the whole process and she is just great and a sweetheart. Nicole is amazing. I was a corona bride and these two made everything SOOO EASY! My biggest stress was finding a new date and they just made the process so smooth and was here for me and supportive. Dave was our on site staff for the day of the wedding and let me tell you HE IS THE MAN!!! He made sure everything was good and ran smoothly. He made me and my groom feel so comfortable. This place is beautiful and stunning and magical. I would recommend everyone to get married here. They have the most incredible staff here. They made all my dreams come to life. As annoying as I felt asking questions they were always happy and ready to answer and assist. I wish I could relive my wedding day over and over again. It wouldnt have been as perfect as it was without the staff and this location. Every guest I had talked about how gorgeous that venue is. I will never forget my wedding day and will never be able to thank the Mackey House staff enough. and they even let me bring my dog!!!

Amazing Venue. Even better people.

Dave and Nicole, I hope you’re reading this. You guys were STELLAR. You went above and beyond passed any expectations. We had some issues pop up on the day of, and they were able to deliver and take care of all things thrown at them. They made our special day truly special. This venue is simply amazing. If you haven’t seen it first hand, please schedule your tour.

We loved this place from the minute we seen it. There’s a beautiful balcony inside that allows spectators to gaze down onto the cake cutting location. This was one of the key selling factors for us on this venue. Sadly, we were not told, until day of, that this feature would be inaccessible to us and the guests due to an undisclosed incident. Although this really bummed us out, this is truly the only bad thing about the venue. Thank you for making us feel welcomed into your place of unity.

So happy I chose the Mackey House!

My now husband and I wanted a destination wedding in Savannah, we came across the Mackey House and fell in love with the beauty of the property. From the first email until the last the staff at the Mackey House were very responsive and helpful especially since we were planning everything through the phone, emails, etc.

We had 120 guest and utilized the lakeside ceremony location and the deck for the reception. We were nervous about the amount of people on the deck, however, their were plenty of space and it was not overcrowded at all.

Dave was absolutely phenomenal as both the coordinator and DJ. We are very happy we chose to use his services as he made the wedding day flawless and kept our guests dancing the entire night. Dave walked us through the entire process and offered his experiences to help guide us through decision making.

We used Chef Ray and were extremely happy with the food he provided. Our guests are still raving about it !! He really worked with us to provide a specific menu we wanted for our guests. I would highly recommend his services!

Amazing Mackey House Wedding

The Mackey House was absolutely amazing! The venue is beautiful and has great options for ceremony and reception. They were great to work with and so accommodating. So amazing!

They are so helpful and so amazing! Everybody there is so nice and they honestly want your day to be amazing. My husband and I planned a destination wedding and not being in the same state made things a little more difficult but The Mackey House helped so much from giving us catering choices, bakeries and helping us reach out to photographers, DJs. Amazing venue, amazing people!

4/19/19 dream wedding

All I have to say about this place is that it is magical!! Just kidding…I have a lot more to say… step one of wedding planning for us was finding the venue – The Mackey House was actually one of the first places I stumbled across. Just from the looks of it, I thought to myself that this was the wedding venue of my dreams & that there was no way we could afford to have our wedding here. But – not only is this venue beautiful beyond belief – it is affordable. We had our consultation there with Elizabeth (who was sweet as can be) but then continued on with our search to see if there were any other venues that would be suitable for our big day. Only to find that nothing seemed more right than choosing The Mackey House.
When the day finally came – this day that brought a forecast of such dreadful weather (100% chance of strong winds, thunderstorms, tornado warnings) – the staff was so quick to do their best to keep us positive and to let us know that they were going to do everything they could to make sure we still had the beautiful wedding we sought to have here. Much to our surprise, an hour before the ceremony was set to begin, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. Dave assured us that their goal at this time was to dry off all the chairs in the garden so that we could have the ceremony outside as we had originally planned.
To bring this review to a close, I just want to thank everyone at The Mackey House. Elizabeth and Brooke were extremely helpful and quick to respond in the beginning stages. Shelley was so accommodating when it came to scheduling our rehearsal and in discussing all the final touches. And Dave was just an extreme pleasure to work with. Never was there a moment that I looked at him or needed his assistance that he did not have a warm and genuine smile on his face. This venue, the staff, the atmosphere, the decorations – everything about this place is magical!!

Best venue to get married in Savannah!

As you could tell from the photos; this venue truly speaks for itself. On our first visit to Savannah, we did about 10 different site visits. We liked components of each but after leaving The Mackey House, we looked at each other and just knew this was where we wanted to get married.

We booked a year prior to our wedding date. We chose a Saturday in late April, one of the busiest times of the year, so the price was a bit high. Other days of the week are lower if you are flexible with days. Do make sure it’s clear what’s included at the time of booking. During the year leading up to the wedding; we had 2 new event coordinators and a new sales manager and manager. Just make sure to keep all emails on hand so you know whom you spoke with about what. There was one issue with the upgraded glassware for the reception. We were under the impression that was included upon booking. Our new event coordinator at the time confirmed with Mrs. Mackey and she made sure that we had it at no additional charge.

We were quite impressed with the Mackeys. Shelly was our main go to person leading up to the wedding. She was readily available answering my questions in the weeks before the wedding. We also had one last site visit a couple months prior and Mrs. Mackey was there to sit in on our meeting and answer any last minute questions we had.

What we loved the most about the Mackey House was the “one stop shop” atmosphere. The giant white colored plantation home with a wrap around porch was as charming on the inside as it was on the outside. The garden housed our ceremony with the cocktail hour being in the pavilion. They had so many charming areas of the property - all for guests to explore. We chose to have our reception on the upstairs deck. With 145 people, it was almost maxed out with space but still didn’t feel too congested. They even had a lift which was perfect for my grandmother who is immobile.

We decided to serve our dinner in the style of stations instead of sit down served. We converted the dining room and kitchen to accommodate these stations. The main room housed picture frames of my husband and I, a TV with a slideshow on loop and our cupcakes and desserts displayed.

The space was truly perfect.

We also added on the lantern package, which had lit up lanterns throughout the property. When we booked the sparkler send off was included. I would highly recommend adding this service on! The Mackey House staff handles all the arrangements for this. We decided to have a last dance with just the two of us, which allowed time for everyone to get ready for the sparkler send off.
The Mackey House staff was truly superb. Prior to guest arrival they helped us around the property in getting different tables and such. The bar staff was incredibly hard working as well! Only minor complaint is that we expected a better quality of wine to be served. That’s all!

Mackey House should definitely be on your short list if you’re looking to get married in Savannah!!!

Hurricane reschedule

The entire staff here were exceptional! Shelley helped me through the process of rescheduling my wedding due to a hurricane canceling my orginial wedding date. She made sure I knew all dates available. Quick responses, had her number to text her if I needed anything. They made my dreams come true. The venue has lots of natural beauty, and all their preapproved vendors were great. We used Ray’s BBQ and all our guests raved about it! Ray made my wish of incorporating the southern dish of shrimp and grits as our appetizer, which was absolutely amazing! Dave the manager on site day of made everything run soomthly and if there was ever a problem I didn’t know about it. I was never stressed or nervous about anything. They were all so welcoming, kind, caring, and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. I could go on and on about this venue but it was the most beautiful desitination wedding ever and everyone at the Mackey house was so helpful.

Perfect first day

We had THE perfect first day of forver; The Mackey House is visually a dream come true for a wedding venue if you like a southern outdoor rustic, romantic elegance. We added an additional hour of time which to me seemed pricey but was well worth it (the quoted Mackey House price for your day is four hours total which does not pause for a cocktail hour and includes the ceremony and reception). I highly recommend doing it because my husband and I had the best day and weren’t stressed about our timeline. The staff at the Mackey House (notably Elizabeth) was very good to us and went out of their way to ensure our day was everything we dreamed it would be (it was). We started off with one day of coordinator and during our year long engagement got transferred to Elizabeth — we learned this happens often and there were some miscommunications that Elizabeth handled beautifully and made sure my now husband and I were happy. I am so grateful for this venue and the people attached to it for helping make my dream wedding come true.

The Mackey House is an amazing venue. We had guests from Florida, Chicago, Wisconsin, and everywhere in between and they all came away speechless at the stunning setting of the Mackey House. It is a great representation for why we love Savannah and chose it as our wedding city. We utilized the outdoor area for our ceremony, pavilion for cocktail hour, and the deck for the reception. All were incredible. The Mackey House staff was extremely professional and accommodating throughout the year leading up to our wedding. On the day of the wedding Dave was a rock star. This venue and the staff are the best in the business. Can't recommend enough.

We looked at some of the squares in Savannah and even some of the hotels there to find the perfect spot. While the squares are lovely, it was just to public for us. We wanted a small intimate wedding with just family and we found that in The Mackey House...and more! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and gave us the intimacy we were looking for. But, how to do this from Orlando, FL? This is where the staff stepped in. Elizabeth was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions and gave us as much detail as we needed. The day of the wedding was magical and beyond what we ever imagined. The house manager, Dave, was such a gracious host and went above and beyond to make sure we had exactly what we needed. Chef Ray and his crew made a delicious meal that we still rave about! If you are thinking of a wedding or even a group event, The Mackey House is the first place you should check out because it will turn out to be the last place you stop!

Everyone here was so kind and gracious. Especially considering that we only gave them two weeks notice! Trying to plan a wedding via phone and email in two weeks from West Virginia is no easy task, but the team at the Mackey House made it feel so easy and stress-free. They were able to squeeze us in no problem and the value couldn't be beat. I'm not very familiar with wedding costs, but I would say that the Mackey House beats everyone else on price! If you plan on getting married in Savannah, your only option should be the Mackey House.

My husband and I got married at the Mackey House on May 6,2018. To say that our day was perfect is an understatement. Our wedding was everything we could have ever wanted and dreamed of. Our day wouldn’t have turned out this way if it weren’t for the GORGEOUS venue of the Mackey House and their excellent team.

To be honest, my husband and I looked at venues in the Savannah area for months. We knew about the Mackey House, but thought that there was no way that it would fit into our budget. We finally got fed up, and we agreed to just “go look”. Turns out, it was cheaper than most venues in the Savannah area that we looked at. Not only that, they provided so much more than any other venue we considered. Making worth of every penny.

I worked with Caroline and Shelley. Both were amazing! They made the planning process such a breeze! I didn’t even need to consider hiring a planner. They walked me through everything and were very prompt in answering all of my ridiculous questions.

We hired Jordon and Dave as our DJ/EMCEE/Director, who were recommended by the venue. They were awesome! They were so fun and easy to work with. They understood exactly how we wanted our day to be and they made it a reality. The Rehearsal and the day of went so smoothly and all of the music selections were a hit! They made the day of the wedding so stress free for me. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing.

I hired Rays BBQ as our caterer, who was also suggested by the venue. Ray was so fun to work with and very accommodating. Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious!

I can’t give the Mackey House enough stars to reflect how pleased we are. They venue is a fairy tale, and the staff is professional, accommodating, prompt, and so much fun to work with. They make you feel right at home.

Our guests are still commenting on how beautiful and perfect our wedding was. They enjoyed it so much!

Our decision to get married at the Mackey House was the most important one we made for the wedding. I had visited a few times during the day at it was absolutely beautiful. I had seen picture at night but they did not do justice. When the sun went down and everything was lit up, it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. This was a destination wedding for us and what a way to introduce our families to the South. If I had to describe Southern Hospitality it would be the Mackey House! Working with Caroline was an absolute pleasure! I also got to meet Mrs. Mackey a few times and she was so warm and friendly. The team really makes you feel at home. Their prefered vendors were also all incredible. They all made the planning process stress free and the end result was the most beautiful memory that we could ever have. Thank you!

Like anyone planning a wedding, we chose the venue and date first and everything else came from that. My fiancé (now wife) and I couldn’t be more happy and proud that we chose The Mackey House as our wedding venue. We worked with Caroline to do all the venue planning and Dave the day of. Both we absolutely fantastic. Their preferred vendors were all top notch. Our 65 guests all commented about how beautiful the venue was. We had guests coming from all over the country. They all enjoyed Savannah before and after the wedding.

The Mackey House was the most perfect backdrop to our perfect day! Caroline, Dave, and the entire Mackey House team made us feel so special and important throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. Caroline was so readily available to us and constantly went out of her way to make sure that everything was in line with my vision, including acquiring alcohol outside of their vendor list and letting me come to the property for bridal photos. She was absolutely amazing!

I am so pleased with the Mackey House. It was truly worth every penny. Their preferred caterers are also excellent-- don't discount Ray's BBQ, even for a more formal event. His turkey options, brisket, and excellent stew and sides had my guests raving. He was incredibly professional and his team was cheerful and ready to assist!

The Mackey House is THE venue for a Savannah wedding. I could not recommend it more highly. Thank you to the whole Mackey House team for making our big day so special!

I was hesitant about having a wedding coordinator with a small wedding of 30 guests. I will have to say that both my husband and I agreed at the end of our day, Dave Gibson is worth every penny and more!!! He promised us all we had to do was show up and have fun and he held thru! Dave provided music for ceremony, DJ service and was our coordinator. He is your Go to Guy!! Beautiful location with meticulous grounds along with exceptional service.

When my husband and I started looking at wedding venues, we found some we liked but there was always a “it would be perfect BUT….” Until we visited The Mackey House! We can still remember driving up to the venue and just being in complete awe. Before we got back in the car after our tour, we both said without hesitation “THIS IS IT!” It is truly EVERYTHING you could ever ask for in a wedding venue and more! From the first day of our tour, The Mackey House staff blew us away. They were very organized, up front with all the costs, and provided great suggestions and recommendations. During the time between when we contracted with them and our wedding day, The Mackey House did transition through a few wedding pre-event planners. Even with those transitions, we never felt that our wedding day plans or any previous discussions were lost or forgotten about. Closer to our wedding date, we worked directly with Jessica to finalize all our wedding details! She was VERY responsive and awesome about helping in any way she could. With some last minute changes, she was very detailed oriented to ensure that what was in their system was up to date and accurate. One thing we would say to anyone looking at doing a wedding at The Mackey House would be that YOU HAVE TO HIRE DAVE!! Hands down the best wedding decision we made! Dave will make your wedding day flawless! He worked with us to plan out our wedding day timeline and gave us great suggestions! He was also open to having us call/text him as things came up or changed, which was extremely helpful! Our guest at our wedding still talk about how GOREGOUS and in awe they were at how beautiful the venue was and that it was by far the prettiest wedding venue they had been to! And not only that, so many of our guests talked about how smooth the wedding went and how great the music was! We truly cannot say thank you enough to Jessica, Dave and the rest of The Mackey House staff for being apart of making our wedding day picture perfect!

Dave and Krysti did an amazing job pulling our wedding together. The Mackey House delivered on being our dream venue and we had a blast! All of our guests told us over and over that it was one of the prettiest, most fun weddings they have ever attended. Dave was a fantastic DJ and really got involved. We had a blast going through musical choices with him, and he suggested a couple fun things that really got the reception off on the right foot. The Mackey House is a fantastic place to have your wedding. You won't find a prettier venue in Savannah where you can soak in Savannah's gorgeous scenery and celebrate the night away!

Let me start by saying Dave Gibson is a God Send. We began our wedding journey with the Mackey house with Susanna, and then through another, and then through another which became extremely frustrating. Dave stepped in and completely took over our entire event. He is a fantastic DJ as well! I completely forgot to send him my playlist in the midst of things so dance music (besides our special moments pre-planned) all night was all him and all great! The venue itself is one of a kind and having a mostly out of town guest list we wanted something to impress and we got that! They did a great job with giving me amazing vendor recommendations and are totally worth the money! Thank you for everything Dave!

This is a beautiful venue filled with a true southern experience. The staff was beyond incredible and made sure we were satisfied throughout the event. Dave, the wedding coordinator was a gem for us. He worked incredibly hard to make sure we were satisfied. I would recommend this venue to anybody! On top of the great experience, it was the most cost efficient venue in Savannah and the surrounding areas.

This is a beautiful place hidden in a one-of-a-kind forest-type scene. Dave, the director, made us feel very welcome from the start! I was not able to check the venue out first-hand with my sister (the bride) but I did see it for the first time at the wedding rehearsal the night before. Dave was very timely as well as efficient in going through the rehearsal with us. He was very personable and approachable, so we felt comfortable to ask him any questions as necessary. Besides this place being absolutely gorgeous and nostalgic with its rustic, 17th century feel, the staff was always available on the day of the wedding and provided last minute accommodations for us because of some mishaps on our end (ex: we forgot our own paper plates so the catering staff provided us some, etc.). We took photos after the ceremony and the scene was absolutely gorgeous and neat. It was overall just such a blessing of a day, not to mention Dave wears many hats like Dj-ing , being the MC, leading the wedding games, and honoring the people in their positions (ex. Acknowledging the roles of groomsmen and bridesmaids and making us feel welcome). Everything was fantastic and we truly enjoyed ourselves. More importantly, the bride and her groom enjoyed that special day! Thanks for such a great experience and may God bless your venue and company for more weddings to come your way!

The Mackey House made my dream wedding come true! It is an absolutely gorgeous venue... The perfect place for a beautiful Southern wedding. Also, do yourself a favor & hire Dave as your wedding coordinator & DJ. This man knows his stuff!!! From the ceremony to the reception, everything was well orchestrated & played out seamlessly. I felt so at ease the whole time knowing he had everything under control. Dave has such a charming personality & my family & I just loved him. There truly aren't words enough to express how wonderful our experience was at The Mackey House for our late June 2015 wedding, but I'll give it a try. From the moment we set our hearts on getting married at this venue, the entire staff became very involved in helping us to plan out every detail of our perfect day. Susanna, Shelly and Dave were more professional and responsive than we could ever have asked for and they truly made the daunting task of planning a wedding very enjoyable. They gave us wonderful recommendations for vendors, helped find the perfect place for every little DIY decoration I had prepared for the day and made sure everything leading up to the wedding was very clear and well planned. They even helped facilitate incorporating my quirky 1950's theme into every detail in the decorations! Dave was our coordinator and MC and he made sure that each portion of our day went off without a hitch-- his presence and professionalism was an absolute blessing! The Mackey House was the perfect place for my husband and I to start our new life together and I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful experience!

My daughter chose the Mackey House for her destination wedding, and we could not be happier with her choice. We worked with Susanna and Dave by phone prior to the wedding, and they were wonderful. When we arrived, they continued to meet and rise above our expectations! We really enjoyed the food - great chef! The ice cream bar was a wonderful treat! Dave was fantastic! As the day progressed, we felt that he was our very good friend who attended to every detail...a job well done!

I can't say enough about this beautiful venue! Words cannot describe how thankful we are for ending up at The Mackey House for our wedding! Dave and Susanna were extremely helpful throughout the entire process and for the most part, were very responsive with their emails. I was worried because I was planning a wedding while living 4 hours away from Savannah but they did everything they could to put my mind at ease. Our first planning session with Dave was long and detailed, but he truly thinks of everything, not to mention he is a great DJ! It was truly wonderful having a DJ who was also our day-of coordinator moving us right along through the night. Many of my guests complimented us on how easily the wedding flowed and there weren't any issues. I definitely recommend paying for an extra hour because it goes by so fast!! I wish we had more time during our reception because you don't realize how many little things happen! (toasts, cake cutting, dances, etc.) The Mackey House is beautiful so spending money on flowers and expensive decorations is not necessary. We also enjoyed how this was a "one stop shop" meaning our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in one place so our guests weren't required to move anywhere. Dave and Susanna suggested all of the vendors we used in terms of catering, florist, decorator, bar, and transportation- none of which disappointed at all. Thank you Dave and Susanna for helping us design the wedding of our dreams! Everyone had an amazing time!

Our wedding at the Mackey House was absolutely perfect. We owe that to the wonderful staff and the vendors they recommended, in addition to the unbelievably beautiful property. It is such a unique and special venue. Many of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. From the people to the food to the beautiful land and property, this is truly the most perfect wedding venue. The Mackey House knows how to put together an amazing wedding and throws one heck of a party!
The people we had the opportunity to work with along the way were fantastic. Dave, the day of coordinator and DJ, is truly amazing at what he does and is such a kind and awesome person. He made planning fun. Our wedding day ran so smoothly thanks to him, and we did not have a single worry that day. We had so much fun with him along the way and especially on the wedding day! Susanna helps with much of the preplanning. She is kind and responsive and makes sure everything is in line for the big day. We loved working with her. Additionally, all the Mackey House staff members were fantastic. Everyone was smiling the entire day and kind to all of our guests. The Mackey House also makes excellent recommendations for vendors. Michelle and her team from Improvisions did our decorations and flowers. Every bit of what they did was beautiful! The food from Magnolia Grill was fantastic and all the guests raved over it...Corie, Mark, and their team made the most amazing food and the presentation was beautiful! Randy’s Beverage did our bar. They provided great service and were so friendly to all of our guests. Dave set up our transportation with Grace Limo, and they were great and on time the entire day.
I cannot say enough about this venue. It truly is the most perfect place to get married. It veers from the traditional ballroom style venue. The uniqueness and beauty of the house and property and the amazing people that work there made our day unforgettable!

We had our wedding and reception ceremony at The Mackey House and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. We had the pleasure of taking our family photo next the a beautiful water fountain near the garden. Dave Gibson was our Event Coordinator and he's the best. He made our wedding planning experience stress-less and our family and friends were very complimentary of him. Dave is the man for the plan and shaking a leg is also another one of his specialties. He even showed our guest some dance moves. Magnolia Grill was our caterer and their food was finger licking good. Corie and Mark did an awesome job as well as their staff. They all are the most pleasant people. Dave and Magnolia Grill took really good care of our great-grandmother as well. Last but not least, Mrs. Mackey is the sweetest. She helped fix a few bumps in the road. My family and I really appreciate her concerns very much.

The wonderful staff at Mackey House exceeded all of my expectations in assisting me and my husband with our wedding. Susanna is so sweet and always had the right thing to say to ease any worries or solve any little bumps we may have experienced. Dave was our DJ and master of ceremonies and absolutely delivered! He coordinated a wonderful rehearsal and created a super fun time for us on the dance floor (even tried to teach me the "wobble"). He and Susanna worked together so I was always able to contact someone for all of my needs. They truly made it a painless planning process. The location is breathtaking, especially at night all lit up! We have been inundated with compliments on our wedding and the venue. I've been recommending the Mackey House to everyone! And will continue to do so.

This venue was fantastic!! The house was absolutely beautiful and in perfect condition. Even though it had rained earlier in the day, they had their crew clean and dry off everything before the ceremony and reception, so the guests (and bride) never even knew about the rain. For those also worried about rain, they have a covered area on-site that can be used as a back-up plan. That could save you a ton of cash if you are looking for an outdoor wedding. They work with several great vendors to make it as stress-free as possible for us. The coordinator happened to also be the DJ, and his music selection was great. Couldn't be more pleased. A highly recommended venue. A++++

The Mackey House did an excellent job helping me to plan and make my wedding day perfect. We chose The Mackey House purely from photos online (I live in Ohio) but knew we had to make a decision to book it in order to have it during the busy Savannah wedding season. When I was able to see the venue in person (after the contract signed and the deposit paid) it was even more beautiful than the photos and was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a sophisticated yet natural setting with lots of green and picturesque backdrops. We didn't want (nor did we need to) do a lot of decorating because we wanted the natural beauty to speak for itself and it DID! We just received some of our wedding photos back and we are so happy with them and how the setting of the venue made everything beautiful. Ladies, the greenery and trees really make the white of your dress POP in photos! The staff at The Mackey House was also top-notch. Susanna and Dave were professional and enthusiastic in helping us plan our big day. Since we were planning from afar, Susanna was very helpful in giving us info on vendors and other things we needed. Dave sat down with us to plan out every minute of the day, making sure that it was going to be exactly as we had envisioned. He also helped us to identify things that we hadn't even thought about. Having our planning meeting with him really allowed us to relax knowing that we were in good hands. We hired Dave to also be our day-of coordinator and reception DJ which I would definitely recommend. When we started planning, we didn't think we needed Dave as day-of coordinator but looking back, I don't know what we would have done without him there that day, making sure everything was going according to plan and ensuring that I (the bride) wasn't stressed! He was also our DJ and made the reception very fun and exciting. The Mackey House is the best there is!

The Mackey House is truly a hidden gem in the city of Savannah! My daughter and her fiancé chose this location for their destination wedding, and even though I live near the area, I wasn't familiar with it. As the mother of the bride and "unofficial" wedding planner, I was thrilled when I toured the house and grounds and met the Mackeys and their staff - their mission is to make your event the best ever! I especially enjoyed working with Susanna, their wedding coordinator - she was so helpful and responsive, and had great ideas for us. And Dave - he is THE BEST! He is a pre-wedding coordinator, the day of MC and DJ, and all around great guy - we highly recommend having him "orchestrate" your special day! He really does think of everything!

We used vendors recommended and preferred by the Mackey House, and even though we had a small issue with catering and the heaters (it was cold that night!), the Mackeys and their staff went out of their way to make sure the evening was spectacular. We are still receiving compliments from our guests on the "magical" time they had at Amy and Shawn's wedding!

We traveled all the way from Sydney Australia to have our wedding at the Mackey House. Having never seen the property it could have been absolute disaster to say the least.

Usually, people are let down when they see beautiful images of a venue online and then see it in real life only to find the pictures look nothing like the venue. The Mackey House is the complete opposite... the venue photos do not even do this beautiful property justice - It's far prettier in real life (if that's even possible! !)

The fairy lights, the ceremony space, the reception area - everything was perfection. Well worth the travel from Australia and we couldn't be happier in choosing the Mackey House for our wedding! Our guests too loved the property and are still raving about it!

PS Dave Gibson is amazing. If you want to ensure your wedding goes off without a hitch he is a MUST to hire!

I couldn't be more happy with how my wedding went! Dave went above and beyond, I kept changing my mind, ideas and was very neurotic but he kept me calm and made my day better than I could ever imagine. My employer held an area sales meeting in Savannah this week and we wanted to have a relaxed evening out with a lowcountry boil and oyster roast at a pretty southern venue. The Mackey house exceeded our expectations. Susanna and Trey took all of my requirements down and coordinated travel to and from the hotel, food/beverage, and a live band for the evening. All of my colleagues were thoroughly impressed as the Mackey house is the epitome of an elegant lowcountry plantation. The outdoor covered area was PERFECT for our event and the oysters that they provided were such good quality. They all made an effort to make each of us comfortable and the service was awesome. I highly recommend the flaming donut stand, the best donuts HANDS DOWN.

Our group is rather high maintenance and everyone had a wonderful time. The live band really added to the atmosphere we were hoping for.

Beautiful venue, excellent customer service, and highly recommended!

Planning and executing a wedding with the bride and groom in Maryland, the wedding venue in Georgia, and the parents in a different city from the venue could have been a recipe for disaster, but our daughter's wedding at the Mackey House was everything she had hoped it would be. After visiting the the first time, we cancelled all other venue appointments because we knew Kelly and Collin's wedding had to be held there. The grounds were beautiful; the fairy lights in the trees and throughout the gardens made for a truly romantic atmosphere, and the attitude of the staff was that nothing was too difficult in making the bride and groom's day perfect. Susanna, the wedding planner was a pleasure to work with, and she went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly, and she made all the long distance planning easy. Dave Gibson, the wedding rehearsal director as well as day- of coordinator and reception DJ, was awesome! Dave really made the party fun, and his teaching everyone the Wobble was hilarious! His hosting the Newlywed shoe game had everyone in stitches. The entire evening was well organized, lively, and most of all fun. The staff took care of every detail, and we all enjoyed a stress free ceremony and reception. Thank you for giving Kelly and Collin their dream wedding!

The Mackey House was absolutely the best. Dave, who was our planner and dj and coordinator, really seemed to step up his game with our wedding. I never would have dreamed of something so beautiful and flawless. Thank you so much Mackey House for making our special day just that more amazing!

My husband and I got married in an evening ceremony in early November at The Mackey House. It was a wonderful experience. We cannot tell you how many people have told us how organized, fun, and lovely the night was. We (along with our parents) are still receiving positive comments. On the day of the event, neither of us had to worry about any detail. We just got to enjoy ourselves, and I don't know how many couples get to say the same thing about their wedding.

The Mackey House made our wedding unforgettable. I had envisioned a romantic, outside ceremony at dusk, and the lighting they provided was perfect. The scenery is absolutely beautiful at the Mackey House. Aside from the appearance, the staff is so easy to work with. Dave was a pleasure to work with as well as Susanna. We could not have booked a more perfect place for our ceremony and reception. The Mackey House made our wedding day stress free. We were truly able to enjoy every second of our ceremony and reception. They have this process down pat! It was the easiest party I've ever planned :) The staff thinks and takes care of EVERYTHING! We were very impressed with how organized the entire day/night was.

I got married at The Mackey House a year ago, and our wedding was EVERYTHING i wanted it to be!!! The venue was so beautiful & the staff are all great! We decided to have Dave as our D.J./wedding coordinator and it was the best choice i could've made! I HIGHLY recommend using Dave if you're getting married or having an event at The Mackey House! Dave was always such a great help & never once complained when i changed my mind every week haha! I even changed my music the DAY BEFORE the wedding and Dave was right on it! He makes sure the bride is happy and has the best day possible. He does such a great job making sure the wedding party is where they need to be & one time. My cousin got married at The Mackey House last week and had Dave D.J. and I could tell everyone had a great time. I got to speak with Dave and he is the nicest person you will meet! Michelle made table decorations for our reception and she did a great job!! It was a last minute need and Michelle was right on it, asking what our wedding colors were and asking what type of decorations i wanted. When i saw the table decor i was blown away at how beautiful everything was!! My overall experience at The Mackey House was amazing! Definitely the way to go if you want a beautiful, southern wedding :)

My new husband and I were extremely pleased with every staff member at the Mackey House. From day 1 of planning our big day, they were so helpful in guiding us in the right direction. Planning our wedding from a distance, I thought we would encounter so many challenges, but Dave and Shelly really made everything flow so well! The grounds couldn't have been more perfect. Dave was our DJ and planner, and he did an absolutely fantastic job at coordinating everything, and making wonderful suggestions. He was such a pleasure to work with! I hope in a few more years, we can come back with our family for a much more intimate renewal of our vows! :)

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. The Mackey House is an amazing place to have your special day. The venue is absolutely beautiful and they do a wonderful job of making sure it always, regardless of the season, looks beautiful. The staff are fantastic! They make you feel like family from the day you book with them. Dave is the man! He is amazing at what he does and makes sure there are no glitches on your big day. All staff members are always accessible and always greet you with a warming smile. We HIGHLY recommend The Mackey House to anyone who wants to have a unforgettable wedding day!!!

My new husband and I fell in love with the Mackey House as soon as we walked into the beautifully landscaped garden area outside. From the first tour of the grounds to the second we left as husband and wife the staff at the Mackey House were beyond exceptional. They gave us the wedding we wanted at a great price. Dave Gibson is the best maitre'd you can ask for. He kept the day organized and flowing, as a bride, I never had to worry about a thing! Shelly was always there to answer my questions and concerns about anything, and I left my decorations and special instructions with her the day before at our rehearsal and come wedding day everything was set up perfectly! It was so beautiful and truly surpassed all of our expectations! They were more than happy to accommodate for anything. We had an 80-90% chance of rain forecast for our wedding day and we had decided to change the set up of the wedding and reception. The day of turned out to be absolutely beautiful and they changed everything back to our original plan last minute with no hiccups whatsoever. I cannot say enough great things about this venue and their staff. If you are considering a wedding here you will not be disappointed!

Every bride-to-be has got to check out the Mackey House as a venue; once you drive onto the property and meet the staff, you'll fall in love in a heartbeat! The entire property is breathtakingly beautiful, and the pictures turned out amazing (my photographer was Shannon Christopher). I just got married a little over a month ago, and it was by far the best time of my life. I have had so many people call me and text me asking us to get married at the Mackey House again because it was the best wedding they had ever been to! And I absolutely couldn't have done it without the help of Dave Gibson. He is the Event Director, and just awesome to work with. He runs the rehearsal, puts together the entire wedding including all the small details, DJs, and basically keeps the wedding flowing all night long. I didn't have to worry about hiring a planner because he took care of everything for me. Now we now have extra money in our budget for our honeymoon. His music had everyone dancing the entire night, even my husband's grandparents! It was priceless. And he taught us all how to wobble! Hilarious. Nothing is better than hearing, "you're the bride, it's your day," and being totally taken care of and catered to. He took away all of the stress that most brides deal with on their wedding day. Every friend of mine told me that their wedding was a blur. Mine wasn't at all. I enjoyed every second of it and had the best night of my life. Everything was taken care of. I got to marry the love of my life and dance on a glass-topped pool. I only wish it could have been longer! I always said "I want a marriage more beautiful that my wedding". The Mackey House definitely set a high standard for us, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

We had our wedding at the Mackey house on 2-7-14. Everyone was so kind and made our day awesome. Dave went though the planning with us step by step and made it all easy. Shelly made everything in the house beautiful and even set up all our pictures and center pieces. Everybody had a lot of fun at our wedding and we are so glad we picked the Mackey house!

If there was a way to give more than 5 stars, I would because they earned it! We had a wonderful time not only at the wedding but before and after. The Mackey House was so helpful with EVERYTHING.

We had contacted them 1 year prior to our set date, and met with Dave Gibson the DJ and with Shelly the house representative. They were extremely helpful and friendly . With so much time left to plan our wedding they stayed in contact, the whole year to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. And it did! with their help we were able to pull together 100 people composed mostly of out of towners and everyone said fabulous things to say about the Mackey House. If we could do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing! Michelle the decorator was so much fun to work with, she has great ideas and was there for us in more ways than just making the Mackey house our house for the night. Dave was indispensable for the entire year, He was very thoughtful and creative about songs and getting the right feeling we had wanted for the ceremony and then lead dances out on the floor for the reception! We wouldn't of been able to have such a great night if we had chosen another location because we wouldn't have gotten anywhere as near the personalized attention, the quality of service, the gorgeousness of the location or as stress free of an event! LOVE THESE GUYS!

I could not have picked a better venue for our wedding. The Mackey House has a strong team of professionals that made our day absolutely flawless. Dave, the wedding coordinator, is very organized and highly knowledgable. He made the event seamless and easy. There are no words to describe his obvious talent in the wedding industry. I did not have to lift a finger the day of our wedding. Michelle, with Improvisions, was our decorator and florist through TMH and anything you wanted she would execute with a "can-do" attitude. She is full of ideas and it is very apparent that she loves what she does. There were a couple instances where our original plans fell through on our end but TMH was always there with a solution. We recieved so many compliments on the ceremony. Beautifully executed.

I had my wedding at the beautiful Mackey house the 22nd of Feb. and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have the most important day of my life. The mackey house has a beautiful garden and landscape, every time I drove to meet someone or just walk around the property their were gardeners there working hard to keep the property beautiful. They work with you as far as Buddhist is concerned they call you when they just want to make sure you are doing ok, and to hear how excited you are. They made me and my now husband feel like family, and that in its self meant and will mean to you so much. Especially when you need it the most......thank you mackey house.

The Mackey House was the perfect setting for my southern country wedding!! I was planning it from California and I was worried but Dave and the Mackey House took care of everything and I was relaxed and able to just enjoy our big day!!

It was such a pleasure celebrating our wedding reception at The Mackey House! The staff is extremely easy to work with; it is apparent that they work their hardest to make each bride and groom's big day truly unique and memorable. The Mackey House is an AMAZING place to have your wedding ceremony and reception at. The staff is absolutely terrific from the owners Laurel and Trey Mackey to the caters. My now husband just came home from Afghanistan on November 4th about two weeks before our wedding date. The Mackey's were more than accommodating for our wedding, they treated us like family. They rolled out the red carpet for this freshly new veteran and his wife. The photographer took absolutely amazing photos. The minister was incredibly sweet and held an amazing ceremony. The decorator for the wedding ceremony did a beautiful job and the wedding coordinator who also provided the music who was Dave made me feel so comfortable on my big day and took the nerves away. The wedding they provided me over did my expectations of my dream wedding I had envision since a little girl. This is the best place to get married and have a reception. If you pass up this place your making a HUGE mistake.

Laura Mackey, owner of The Mackey House, did an excellent job preparing for my wedding day - she is not only helpful but very easy to work with and she has an eye for detail. We also used Dave Gibson - in my opinion is the best DJ/wedding planner you could ever find - Dave is on top of everything, he keeps the entire wedding on track and moving and is so involed with the entire event - we could not have had such a fantastic wedding without him! We also used The Mackey House catering - excellent choice! We have people calling us the next day saying the food was excellent, the venuse was breathtakingly beautiful, and they had never had so much fun at a wedding before. I highly recommend The Mackey House for any event!!!

Absolutely fantastic experience. We conducted a "One of a Kind" wedding for our daughter and the Mackey House was absolutely the best choice. Everyone of our guests (265 of them) had nothing but "high praise." We look forward to a continued relationship with our new friends, Dave, Shelly, Laura, Greg, and Trey of the Mackey House!!

We had our daughters wedding reception at The Mackey House. It was a beautiful event. The venue was absolutely everything we had imagined. It was really easy to work with the staff. They were friendly, kind and attentive to our needs. I was impressed how wonderful they were as I know they had 5 back to back weddings on our weekend. Dave the DJ was so helpful and it was nice to have his assistance at the Church as well. Our guests had a wonderful time. The only negative was the trolley service from Downtown Savannah - they did not supply the service they had promised and many of our guests got to the reception late missing introduction and first dance. The Mackey House will have to contract with a different company!

The transportation issues were unforeseen and not normal for our events. There was some construction on the major highway leading from the hotel locations to the venue and there were significant traffic delays as a result. This resulted in the delays mentioned above. Furthermore, the provider that was used for this event was not our primary provider. Our primary provider was not available for this event and this necessitated us using an alternate provider.

I loved working with everyone from the Mackey House. They went out of their way to make our wedding perfect. We were getting married in a location on the grounds that they had never really done before (the wooded lake side area).

I loved working with Shelley and Dave, who were basically my life line for planning the entire wedding. Shelley called every so often to discuss what needed to be done at the time. Dave was very helpful. I worked with him on music selections, discussing invitations, and many other aspects of the wedding. He was there to discuss everything with.

On the day of the wedding, I arrived to everyone finalizing the set up. It was very beautiful. We had to start the ceremony late because a family member did not arrive on time but it was not an issue.

At the reception, I enjoyed how Dave announced everything. He made sure no one would miss anything at the reception. He tried his best to get everyone out dancing but my family was unfortunately a bit lame. With the guests being a bit older, they didn't want to get out and dance. This resulted in myself (as the bride) out there busting moves on my own. Dave made sure to play all the music I selected, even replaying a song for myself and the groom.

The only issue I had was there were times I had to wait a little while to hear back from certain people. It was never too long but there was once or twice where I had to wait a week to hear back about different issues. It didn't cause any problems in the planning of the wedding at all.

In the end, we got married and every thing turned out wonderful! If you are in the Savannah area and looking for a beautiful place to get married, there is no better place than The Mackey House.

Wow, wow, wow. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue. All night long, people were grabbing me to tell me how much they enjoyed being there and the outstanding attitudes of all the employees. One friend even phrased it that he felt like he was at a relative's house because everyone was so eager to help and make everyone happy. They made our whole event just amazing, easy, and completely nonstressful. (and for a crazy bride, that is exactly what you need!!!)

My daughter Heather got married at the Mackey House on August 11, 2013. We could not have been more pleased. The setting is beautiful and the staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. Dave the DJ and wedding coordinator was terrific! This was our first wedding and he thought of everything. When I look back, I cannot imagine planning a wedding without his help. It was well worth the price! In my daughter's words, "It was perfect!"

If you're getting married in Savannah, look no further than the Mackey House! Not only is the venue absolutely BEAUTIFUL, but the staff becomes like your family! The grounds are magical in any season, with that old southern house charm and gorgeous gardens and ponds in the back. We planned this wedding from Ohio and only went to the Mackey House ONCE. But if we couldn't have made it down there, we still could have planned it all just as perfectly as it was! Dave is the DJ/Wedding Coordinator and you won't find anyone better to make your wedding dreams come true. Between Dave and Shelley, you tell them your wedding vision, and they make it happen--no matter how unique or complicated or simple! As Dave said to me "Let me take your anxiety away and give you an amazing wedding." And that is just what happened! Our day could not have been more fairytale and perfect, and it's because of the Mackey House! We even had an issue with the florist--some of our boutinneires were wrong and our arbor we were getting married under was also wrong! But the staff didn't let me panic--they fixed the boutenierres on the spot, and made the arbor into something absolutely beautiful and even more amazing than what I had originally planned! During the ceremony and reception, the staff was busting their butts to make everything go smoothly, and they always had a smile on their face. It's not just an amazing venue that your guests will talk about forever: it becomes like a part of your family :)
