Choosing the boathouse restaurant for our wedding was the best decision!! Jayne was so easy and responsive to work with leading up to the wedding. Almost all of our guests stayed right on the property and were raving about how nice their accommodations were, and there’s truly a view from every room! They also loved the ease of access to the wedding itself, and there was golf carts helping older guests get around the property the day of the wedding. The views for the ceremony and even inside the restaurant are stunning! The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was delicious. We had about 65 guests which we felt was perfect for the space. I want to start this review by saying I am not a groom, or past couple. I am a wedding DJ, who has worked here several times. Each time it has been a 10/10 wedding. The staff really do a great job of crushing it and I have no freaking idea what is happening in that kitchen but dammit that salmon was so good.
The dance floor is on the smaller side which makes packing it so much easier and ensures every party is fun and intimate. I've never seen a bad wedding here, and I attribute a lot of that success to how awesome the venue and staff are. From a DJ's perspective, it's a great venue and Kate is so amazing at making sure things stay on track and happen as you envisioned them!
If they have your desired date open, jump on this place! You won't regret the weekend full of memories you'll gain.

Everyone at the boathouse and the Cresthaven lodges were accommodating to ensure we had a perfect wedding and wedding weekend. We cannot thank your team enough for everything you have done for us. The food was phenomenal. I was worried that 130 people would be tight in the venue but I assure you that if you have a large party it will work out amazing. Best wedding week ever!
The Boathouse Restaurant and Lodges was the most beautiful place to have our wedding! We booked our destination wedding without ever visiting Lake George. The staff was so helpful in answering all our questions, suggesting vendors and coordinating with the wedding planner so everything would be perfect. The food was amazing and the bar had an excellent selection of craft beer and drinks. Our family and us stayed at the lodges for an extended weekend and had the best time utilizing the amazing pool, hot tub and amenities. We always knew we wanted to get married in Lake George (even before I met my husband). The Boathouse was the only location that checked every box - affordable, ceremony spot overlooking the lake, responsive on-site contact, and most importantly during COVID as well as to provide the best experience possible - a very large venue with multiple places to go! The thing we (and our guests) loved most about the Boathouse was you could be out in the gazebo overlooking the lake, on the docks, on the beach, at our s’mores bonfire, at the outdoor bar… the options were limitless and our guests took full advantage.
We knew we loved the amenities at the boathouse, but the staff went above and beyond. No matter what we threw at them or requested, they responded immediately with professionalism and kindness. They found me a ton of lighters when we had none for our sparklers, were attentive about making sure we got appetizers to our table while we were on our unforgettable hackercraft cruise, they cleaned and boxed everything we needed at the end of the night… I could not have asked for more - they did everything so we could sit back and enjoy! Booking the boathouse for our wedding was the best decision we could have made, and I have to personally thank Jayne for answering every email with kindness, flexibility and in a timely manner!The Boathouse Restaurant and The Lodges at Cresthaven's reply:

Due to COVID-19, 50 days out from our wedding date, we decided to change the location of our wedding to be closer to family to make it safer. Now that we had a guest count that fit, we were thrilled to be able to go back to our original pick which was The Boathouse Restaurant & The Lodges at Cresthaven. Jayne and Dan were lifesavers and joy to work with! They helped us plan our wedding ceremony and small reception in 50 days. They were attentive and beyond accommodating. Jayne is incredibly responsive and answered all my questions. Dan customized a menu to fit our budget and needs. But on top of that, they allowed us the opportunity to create the wedding we always wanted while keeping our 28 guests safe. State regulations did not allow dancing so we only had a meal. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves, everyone was spaced out, and all the staff had masks and gloves. Our guests are still talking about the breath taking views, delicious food, and just how perfect the venue was overall. Saying our vows in front of a picturesque view that to this day doesn’t seem real, was a dream come true. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and will definitely be going back to The Lodges at Cresthaven for a vacation when everything is back to normal! -

Incredible
If I could do it all over again, I'd still choose The Boathouse Restaurant. It was absolutely stunning. We received so many compliments on the venue, food and views! Our guests couldn't believe how perfect our wedding was. Everyone was so accommodating. We had our rehearsal dinner on the first floor of the Boathouse at the Lodges at Cresthaven and they did a wonderful job! (check out the 3D tour to make sure you're looking at the right floor if you're doing a smaller event like we were) The food was great, the servers were great and we even had a big bonfire on the beach with smores! Pictures on the docks at sunset (or any time we're sure) were gorgeous as well. Our coordinator Jayne was fantastic to work with and we would highly recommend that anyone host an event there!The Boathouse Restaurant and The Lodges at Cresthaven's reply:

Heather Sent on 06/08/2018Our wedding at The Boathouse Restaurant was better than we ever thought it could be! I came across the venue online and insisted we drive up to Lake George to see it. We had both the ceremony and reception there. Dan and Jayne were amazing to work with, they eased our minds with all our concerns and our day was perfect. We had 86 people and I think it was the perfect size. I was constantly concerned about the weather (cold, rain), we did not utilize the Gazibo seating, but you could have easily added 10 more seats if you wanted. We were still able to do our first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dance before dinner. Then after dinner we removed one table to have more dance space. It worked out perfectly. It gave us the intimate setting we wanted, yet enough space to have everyone dance! The food was fantastic and the Lodges at Cresthaven staff was great! Our guests and family were impressed with the staff and kept commenting on the amazing venue and scenery. Everyone wanted to know how we found this amazing place! All of our guests were out of town, anyone who stayed at the lodges had only positive things to stay. We utilized the Boathosue shuttle to accommodate guests that stayed offsite. I highly recommend this venue. We look forward to being able to go back to celebrate a future anniversary.

We had 75 people and the venue was the perfect size and felt so intimate. we loved that the boathouse was rustic but still very classy and well kept compared to many other lake side locations we saw which do not have the same attention to detail. Jayne and her team were amazing. Very responsive and we do not have enough good things to say about them!! The food was also great. We were a bit hesitant as the regular restaurant is quite causal but the wedding food was top notch and we received many compliments. The lodges were amazing and all our guests were very impressed. The shuttle service was also great for guests who lived in town already. Thank you boathouse for the perfect day!

Sue Sent on 10/27/2015The venue itself is beautiful. The food at the Boathouse is incredible. The only complaints I have is that after the reception, the staff was supposed to box and put all the decorations away. My mother in law ended up taking all the decorations down and boxing everything herself. I was told on the phone that the staff would be taking care of that. I also thought that it was insane that there were no discounts for the bride and groom for rooms. I booked my wedding off season. 250$ a night, with a minimum of two night stay. We were going to get granted a 25$ discount. Which in my opinion is crazy as my family was spending a lot of money for the venue. We ended up staying somewhere else.
