The most beautiful, unique, southern charm venue around the St. Louis area!

We had our wedding on May 17, 2024. This is one of the most beautiful unique venues around the St Louis area! The new owners are so helpful and friendly and very easy to work with. I receive so many compliments from so many people regarding the beauty of this venue. Many people who attend the wedding kept telling me they did not even know something like this existed in the St. Louis area. To my knowledge, there is not another venue like this around the St. Louis area! Everything was perfect, including the food, the bar service (Champaign Wishes), The marble gazebo, the beautiful mansion, the outside beauty southern charm of the whole property and Especially the new owners. The owners were there for us before the wedding, helping us plan everything, as well as during the wedding and after the wedding? We even had the person in charge of keeping the outside beautiful, tie down our seating chart that was outside, just to make sure it would not break. Oh, and to top it off, my daughter was able to arrive to the ceremony in a white horse and carriage! Thank you to the Larimore for making my daughter’s dream wedding come true!

Amazing venue!!

My wedding at the Larimore was amazing. The venue was beautiful and everything was exactly as I pictured! The staff were all so nice and helpful. They made sure everything was perfect. Even though we had a few problems with our caterer, the staff did everything they could to help us get everything ready! I would highly recommend using The Larimore for your future wedding!

Amazing!!!

The Larimore is an amazing venue!!! I fell in love with it when I went to a wedding there over 10 years ago and was thoroughly impressed with them then! They are fabulous to work with and our wedding was perfect!!!!

Larimore provided everything needed and more for our wedding ceremony/reception. This could not have gone more smoothly without the help and careful preparation of Dena. Months after, our guests are still letting us know how great it was. We can't recommend this venue enough!

I got married at Larimore on November 5, 2017. Larimore is everything I wanted in a venue. The outside is beautiful. The inside is beautiful. It was all ours for the day, and the prices were reasonable. Dena, the on-site coordinator, was with me every step of the way and ensured that the day went flawlessly. Even though the rain poured right before my ceremony, the staff was flexible and dried all the chairs so that I could have the outdoor ceremony that I wanted. We used Stems florist and Rockstar DJs, two of Larimore’s preferred vendors, and were extremely happy with their work--they are so comfortable with the space after doing hundreds of weddings there, as well as being great at their craft. I’m so glad that Larimore exists in St. Louis and so glad that I was able to get married there!

I just got married September 9th at this beautiful venue. I fell in love with the feel of this place the day I first stepped foot on the property. The beauty, the history, the wonderful owners, everything was perfect. I loved how much help Dena was as well as her husband on my special day to make sure everything was perfect. The food from their catering company was even perfection. I was told by multiple people it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, and I have Larimore to thank for that. I hope I get to come back for a wedding in the future so I can relive our extra special night.

We got married at Larimore House Plantation in April and couldn't have been happier with our experience! We chose Larimore because we really wanted to have an outdoor wedding and they have a cute indoor chapel as a backup. The day before our wedding there was a 100% chance of rain and somehow that changed overnight and we were able to have the most beautiful garden wedding. The horse and carriage was a highlight for me as I was able to enjoy some special time with my Dad right before we walked down the aisle, and with my new husband right after. I was a little worried we wouldn't have enough photo opportunities with the ceremony and reception back to back, but we actually have way too many to choose from. It was also really convenient for our guests to not have to travel in between. Dena was prompt whenever I had questions and she was so helpful throughout the process and especially on our big day. I didn't have to worry about anything on the day of and I really was able to be in the moment and enjoy it all. Thanks so much for exceeding our expectations and for giving us our fairytale wedding!

Larimore House is a beautiful venue. The ceremony , pictures and reception are all performed onsite. We had a beautiful outdoor wedding. More importantly there is a fantastic chapel onsite if it rains. That takes the weather worries out of the picture. The food was excellent. We had several guests walk up to us and comment on how much they enjoyed the applewood pork & chicken marsala. The cake was delicious and beautiful. The mansion is awesome for photos and the dining facility was elegant. It even has an elevated dance floor. Dena, and her staff gave my daughter the best day of her life.

My husband and I absolutely loved our experience at the Larimore House. Dena and Alan are the perfect pair when it comes to putting on a wedding. Leading up to our wedding day this past September, Dena answered all of our questions in a very timely manner, met with us to prepare, and always provided us with all of the information we needed. I knew exactly what to expect from the Larimore House up front so there weren't any surprises. The day of Alan had the grounds looking beautiful and the two of them did a fabulous job making sure that everything was in place. I would definitely recommend anyone get married on the planation.

I was researching venues in my hometown, and desired the wedding ceremony and reception to be in the same location, as many guests, including myself, would be traveling from out of town. When I came across the Larimore House Plantation, I knew my search for the perfect venue was concluded. Dena and Allen were more than accommodating in every way possible throughout the entire wedding process, which made everything so much more enjoyable.

The entire wedding day, I never needed to stress over anything, only partake in pictures, attend to my family and friends, and most importantly enjoy the day I had envisioned since a little girl. Many people told me the wedding was the most beautiful and enjoyable one they had ever attended, which made me even happier. Between the white horse and carriage, the best wedding coordinators assisting me, amazing photographers and florist, and incredible family and friends, I could not have picked a better venue than the Larimore House Plantation to have the wedding of my dreams. Thank you Dena and Allen for making my fairy tale wedding come true.

Our daughter got married Sept. 16th. We had a southern masquerade/Mardi Gras theme. Larimore could not have been more perfect. The beautiful grounds, the southern plantation feel of the home! It was perfect!
Dena and her husband and staff went above and beyond from the very day we met them to the very last minute of our event. Dena kept everything on time and coordinated, and for this mom I so very appreciated it!
You want one place for the most gorgeous gardens, gazebos, sunset and bridge photos with beautiful landscape. Look no further. You want that feeling of those charming plantation homes, big porches, beautiful staircase, look no farther.
It rained that day, and what I love is that they have a beautiful chapel for days like that. The reception room is beautiful, OUTSTANDING food and service. Look no further. Go meet Dena and as soon as you drive you will go.... "oh my oh my oh my, yes!" Thank you so much Dena!!!

My husband and I just renewed our vows after his return from deployment, just one week before our one year anniversary of being married. From the very beginning Dena was absolutely fantastic and perfectly professional in helping me plan my dream wedding. Their preferred vendors for both the DJ service and cake were easy to work with and we couldn't be more pleased, plus it was nice that after I booked them Dena handled the rest.

On the day of she and the staff were prepared for anything, including a sudden rainstorm! Myself, my bridesmaids, and flower girls were able to make it from the mansion (great for pictures!) to the wedding chapel without getting a single drop of rain on us. The chapel is absolutely amazing and has a simple rustic feel that was just what the groom and I were looking for. During the ceremony they were able to transfer our appetizers and refreshments from the mansion - it was a downpour outside - to the room behind the reception hall so we could move right into our receiving line and start getting guests fed at 6:30pm. With 90 guests the reception hall was the perfect size and there was plenty of room for everyone to mingle, get drinks from the bar, and no one waited long to be served either dinner or cake (and we got a lot of compliments on the dinner!). The reception hall is also simply decorated so if you want to save yourself some time and energy on table decorations Dena can has you covered!

Absolutely the perfect venue, I cannot gush enough about it! The whole thing was better than my husband and I could have imagined and we are so grateful for Dena and Allen making it the perfect day!

I wouldn't waste valuable time in looking for a venue other than Larimore House Plantation. This is a one stop shop with all the bells and whistles... The scenery is perfect for pictures, reception is there and they have a chapel on site for rainy days or plan B. My wedding was everything, my husband watches the video more than me. Lol... This is the perfect place for the extravagant diva on a budget for a princess wedding. Thanks Dena and your hubby and the crew for the wedding of the century as my family puts it. Xoxo

Having our wedding and reception at Larimore House Plantation was the best decision. Everything was so beautiful and ran smoothly. Having Dena there to help and coordinate with all of my vendors was really nice and took a lot of stress off of me. I am still getting compliments on my wedding. I would highly recommend having your wedding at Larimore House Plantation.

Dena and Allen were great to work with. They really helped make our day beautiful and special. It was very nice to take advantage of all the extras they have to offer since we were planning the wedding from out of town (DJ, reception decorations, wedding cake, etc.) I felt like the cost of the wedding was a bargain compared to having traditional church wedding and reception later in the evening at a different venue. Dena was kind enough to notice one of my grandmothers had trouble walking down the front steps of the house, so during the wedding party entrance Dena helped her without being asked. During the reception, Allen noticed that a few of the groomsmen had taken their jackets off and asked if he needed to turn down the air conditioning which was very nice of him. The food was absolutely delicious and their recommended DJ was very personable and really made sure to play the music we wanted. I could not be happier with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend the Larimore House Plantation! Even though the venue is a little bit of a drive for a lot of the St. Louis area, it is definitely worth it (especially with the ceremony and reception all in one place). The only downfall is there is not a lot of time for pictures, but our photographers worked fast and had a plan of action so if you are prepared this is no big deal.

Perfect Perfect Perfect!!! Dena and Allen have really figured out the winning formula for a perfect wedding. My husband got married Sunday April 26, 2015 and it was the best day I could have ever imagined. From the beginning, Dena was extremely helpful and is always happy to listen and help in any way she can. The rehearsal went smoothly because she helped us with the line up, the details, and she worked great with our officiant, taking notes to make sure everything went as planned. The staff cleaned the chairs outside before the guests arrived, they were quick to help with anything we needed, and were extremely kind and attentive. I simply cannot believe how amazing they were to us. My husband and I didn't have to worry about absolutely anything all day. Trust me, Dena and Allen know how to make any wedding perfect. If you want a beautiful wedding in a short amount of time with a wonderful line up of vendors (Cake...AMAZING, DJ...SUPERB, Flower...all of it!!!!!!), take a trip to Larimore and talk to Dena. You will be thrilled that you did!

Everything about our wedding day was perfect! We could not have asked for a better venue on a better day. From start to finish, I did not have to worry about anything. Dena and her staff had everything taken care of for me. I think the perfect touch was at the end of the night when we were exhausted, her staff without even asking volunteered to help us clean up and take our things out to the car. This was very thoughtful and very appreciated! I would highly recommend having your event at Larimore!!

My husband and I were married at the Larimore House September 28th of last year. We couldn't have been happier with how our day turned out! The Larimore staff, along with Dena and Allen, truely helped our dream wedding come true! Now almost a year later, we contacted them to get anniversary pictures taken on the Larimore grounds and there were no questions asked. They were so willing to let us come take pictures and were very flexible with what times were convenient for me, my husband, and photographer. If you're looking for a wedding with the full package and then some, I highly recommend Dena and Allen at the Larimore House Plantation.

Dena is friendly and easy to work with.
The banquet center is elegant and provides a romantic ambiance. We had a blast at our reception as the food was delicious and the DJ listened to our song requests. I definatly reccomd this location for a reception.

I have absolutely no complaints. I contacted them 6 months before I wanted to get married and they were so easy to work with and made my wedding planning extremely easy. The day of, I was a stressful bride but Dena and Alan made the day amazing. It was a beautiful wedding.

I cannot say enough about Dena and Allen and Larimore House Plantation. They coordinated everything for us. From the DJ to the cake to the bar service to the hotel, everything was exemplary. It may seem like it's "too far north", but it's truly a perfect location for a wedding. The grounds are beautifully kept and the banquet hall is perfect. The food is wonderful and everything went off without a hitch. Perfect is just what it was.

My husband and I were married September 14th of this year at the Larimore House Plantation. This venue truly gave me a fairy tale wedding. The grounds are beautiful, the service from Dena and Alan is prompt and professional, and I can't imagine getting married anywhere else in St. Louis. If you are looking for something 'outside' of the box go check them out-it's worth it!

They worked with Lori and I on everything and were very helpful. It was like having a wedding planner at no
additional charge. Everyone said the venue, food and service were great!!!! I would advise any bride wanting
a beautiful garden wedding to choose Larimore House. I would also advise the mothers of future brides to use Larimore House, there were a couple of goofs on the part of a vender and family member, I was quite upset
until I spoke with Deena who had me calmed down and the situations handled with a great deal of tact .
Due to their efforts, I got to enjoy my daughters wedding. Thanks Larimore House!!!

Augst 3, 2013 was a very special day for our family as our youngest daughter was getting married. She did not have a lot of time to plan everything as she was in her Masters program at college. Dena and everyone at the Larimore House made that day one to remember. Everything just flowed together and our guests kept coming to us to compliment us on the venue, the food and the beauty of the location. We as her parents were able to relax and enjoy the day along with everyone else because of Dena taking care of seeing that all was right for the day. Absolutely the BEST!!! Dena and Allen were fantastic! I didn't have to worry about a thing, even though it kept raining! When we decided to have the ceremony outside, their staff dried off the seats and the ceremony went on! I couldn't have asked for a better venue!

I am so happy my fiancé and I chose to get married and celebrate at the Laromore House! It was the perfect venue to hold our vintage ceremony and reception. Our day went off without a hitch and our guests were so pleased with the Larimore House's grounds and amenities. Dena allowed me to be creative as I wanted to be while being so flexible and accommodating. If you are the less creative type, Dena is there to assist you in every detail! I highly recommend the Larimore House!

ABSOLUTELY have your wedding and/or reception here!! I suppose I would like to start by saying "THANK YOU!" From the time I met Dena, I thought she was great! She is always smiling and cheerful. Through every twist and turn of the planning process, she was there answering my questions quickly by either email or a pleasant phone call. Anytime we stopped by to go over details or to just take a look around, her and her husband, Allen, would take time to chat with us, tell us about their beautiful historical property, or just talk to us about marriage, kids and life. We have grown to respect them for what they do for their clients and who they are as people. As far as the actual day went, I could not have asked for anything better!!! We started off our reception (our wedding was held at a Cathedral, due to Catholic rules) by greeting our guests in front of the beautiful house with hors d'oeuvres and punch. Our guests kept telling us how beautiful the property was and they were so impressed that St. Louis offered such a unique venue. Allen and Dena also worked with us and allowed us to set up croquet, bag toss and washers for our guests to entertain themselves with if they so chose (they also let my mom put up a snack table in the bar area filled with homemade treats!). The grounds also provided a stunning backdrop for many of our cherished wedding photos. Once we were announced into the reception, our guests were served a spinach salad (we have had multiple requests by guests to see if we can get a hold of the dressing recipe!) followed by apricot chicken or sliced beef with new potatoes and vegetable medley. We are still receiving compliments about the food, all saying it was the best wedding food they had ever experienced!! The cake was amazing as well, made by Wedding Wonderland (Cherry Chip, Marble & Lemon). Even the DJ (All About Music) was fantastic! He ended the reception with "American Pie" to which all the guests sang along! It was perfect!!!

Larimore House Plantation provided an idyllic setting for my August 4th wedding. As an out-of-town bride, Dena worked within my schedule and was able to complete the majority of the arrangements over the phone or through e-mail. If I had any question or request, she and her staff promptly responded. Despite raining all morning on my wedding day, Larimore made sure that everything ran smoothly, so I could have the outdoor wedding of my dreams. My guests constantly commented on how beautiful everything looked and how smoothly everything ran. When it came time for the reception, I didn't really have to think about anything other than enjoying their delicious food and greeting my guests. I would recommend this venue to both my friends and family because of how easy and well-run everything is.

Amazing! From start to finish Dena made me feel comfortable, answered all questions, and went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. They did everything possible so that we could have our ceremony outside, which the weather cooperated for just long enough for some pictures and the ceremony itself! The grounds are gorgeous for photos, the indoor and outdoor ceremony locations are beautiful, and their staff was very professional. Our guests were so impressed by the location and couldn't stop gushing about how great the food was. Thank you for everything!!!

Our wedding was on the day of the horrible hail storm in st. louis! Larimore had dried off all the chairs for a garden wedding but when it looked like it was going to rain again at wedding time....we conveniently moved into their wedding chapel with no worries. The ceremony and reception were all the fun we had expected and more! The owner even helped to get some of us back to the Hotel at West Port when the taxi never showed up after all was over. The bad part was all the lost windshields from the hail.....but our wedding was great and one that we will remember forever !

My new wife and I found this venue and loved every bit of it. The ceremony was beautiful and our reception was a ton of fun! We even had Dippin Dots instead of cake and everyone seemed to enjoy that non-traditional bit of celebration. The staff, especially Dena the wedding coordinator, were very helpful with every need. We highly recommend this venue to any bride and groom!

We were so lucky to find this venue! This estate is set up perfectly to have both your wedding and reception at one property and we had a perfect day! While it rained all day, the day before our wedding and the morning of our wedding......it all stopped and the sun came out and we were able to have the wedding of our dreams. Dena, the wedding coordinator, also co-owns the property and does a wonderful job coordinating all the details. The reception was delicious and all our guests had a wonderful time. We would recommend this venue to any bride who wants convenience, beauty and a great price.

Deanna and Alan were absolutely wonderful to work with. They made everything so easy and the fact that it was all inclusive made the planning even easier! All they do are weddings so they have the planning process perfected and they are always one step ahead. I was incredibly pleased with Larimore House. Level of service was just superb--they even took our plates away and warmed them up while we were shmoozing with our guests so we didn't have cold dinners :) Very accommodating, lovely venue, and excellent food. Megan was a great coordinator and Allen and Dena were SO on top of things. Just excellent. I felt like once I booked them, all I had to do was relax. I wanted an all-inclusive venue--didn't want to find linens, then chairs, then food, etc, because my husband was deployed at the time. They were very understanding and helpful. And, best of all--there were some things I really wanted to do. We had centerpieces, florals, favors, etc, all brought in (some DIY), and they were very cool about that. Some places I spoke to would get very annoyed if you didn't use "their" vendors or purchase the extra add-ons--not these guys!

This was the most awesome experience. We could not have asked for anything more for our daughter. It truly was a fairy tale wedding. All of our guests said it was the most awesome wedding they have ever been to. I wish I had more daughters so we could do it again! Worth every dollar we spent and then more. Dena & Allen Bovey are amazing!! I know to some venue shoppers Larimores price tag might look a bit high but if you break down what all your getting your actually saving money. I think it is worth triple the amount they ask for. The house is stunning and Dena is there to make sure your big day is stress free! The staff is wonderful and the vendors are the top of the line.
When we arrived at the house yesterday I couldn't believe how stunning everything was, and another perk, I didn't have to fuss with any of it. Dena and her staff had all the decorations done and my favors & menu cards in place. While my family and friends mingled and my bridal party helped me stay calm Dena and her team, like little wedding fairies, worked to make sure everything was perfect. I am still in awe at how amazing it all was. Oh and the food!! I watched guests that are the pickiest eaters devour dinner within seconds of it being served. Thanks Peaches:). We didn't have to worry about the little details, and when it was time to go the staff had all of our stuff ready to go. It was also nice not to have to worry about the clean up. I heard out of all the weddings my guest have been to, our wedding at Larimore was the best. They loved the carriage!

As parents of the bride, we wanted our daughter and our new son-in-law to have not only memories of their special day, but BEAUTIFUL memories. The Larimore House did just that. The food was not only served very warm, but there was more than a generous amount on each plate. (We even asked for a few extra garnishes in the dinner salad, and they were provided at no extra cost.) The vendors that we chose to use at the suggestion of the Larimore House were professional and easy to work with. Though we did choose a few vendors of our own, the Larimore House went out of their way to see that those vendors were given the attention and times that worked best for them.......If you are looking for elegance and comfort for you and your guest, this is the place you should highly consider........St. Louis's best kept Secret!!!

We could not have been more pleased with the wedding and reception. The house was beautiful, the grounds were exquisite with the perfect amount of fallen leaves, the appetizers and punch were a sweet touch, and the food was great. We were told by the bar service company that Peaches, the cook, was a goddess in the kitchen. This was the absolute truth! We put this wedding on with 5 months notice and used almost all of Dena's vendors. Jenni at Stems Florist was sensitive, intuitive, and an amazing artist. The cake from Wedding Wonderland made a breathtaking statement as we entered the reception hall and tasted as good as I can make (I cook and bake very well!). The ultimate show stopper was the horse drawn carriage bringing Meredith and her dad to the garden gathering -- people are still raving about the surprise and beauty.

Dena and Allen ran the wedding events with practiced ease and sensitivity -- activities hummed right along. My only regret is that it went too quickly but 10 hours would probably not have been enough time. I felt rushed but I have never done this before!

I would recommend The Larimore House to everyone who wants a special intimate event and the ultimate compliment is that Meredith LOVED her day and thought that every thing was as perfect as possible!

The Larimore House Plantation is absolutely breath taking! We had an outdoor wedding and the grounds were beautifully manicured and so pretty. They have an available indoor facility (church-like) if the weather is poor or if you prefer an indoor wedding. They also have a very elegant banquet room for your reception. And the best part about this vendor is that everything is included in the price. They do so many weddings that they have specific vendors that they work with and are able to get wholesale prices. The decorations for the ceremony and reception, the catering, the cake, the flowers, the DJ, and your very own horse drawn carriage to ride in on and away with your new husband. All we had to do was go to the flower and cake vendor and tell them what we wanted. We didn't have to deal with dates, prices, or how to get everything to the wedding. That was all taken care of for us. We just told them what we wanted and that was it! The catering was done by The Larimore House and we were able to sample the food prior to our wedding. We planned our wedding from Seattle, WA and it was the easiest and most stress free event to plan. They also provided you with a wedding coordinator to make sure you got everything done and the ceremony ran smoothly and the way you wanted.

As a military couple we were planning our wedding from North Carolina. My parents and I were very pleased with how the Larimore accommodated us and our situation. There was little to no stress during the ceremony and my mom was at ease during the planning process because the Larimore staff provides so much. All our guests raved on the food and music played at the wedding. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone.

The Larimore House Plantation was absolutely perfect for our September 2014 wedding. We were looking for a unique/elegant/romantic/vintage venue for our wedding and the Larimore House Plantation was like a dream! It was also important to us to have the ceremony and reception at the same location. Walking onto the property you will feel like you have stepped back in time- the property is gorgeous! The grounds are immaculate and the plantation is just beautiful. Having a ceremony in front of the plantation really is a WOW factor. Dena and Allen were fantastic to work with- I definitely wanted to customize my wedding day and they happily worked with me so that I could have everything the way that I wanted it to be. Dena was so amazing and answered questions and really paid attention to detail for me as I planned a wedding from out of town. Seriously, our wedding day was perfect Dena and Allen really did take care of everything for us. All of their recommended vendors were flawless and so easy to work with. They are top tier wedding vendors. Our wedding day was perfect so many guests came up and said they had no idea a venue like this existed in St. Louis and that they felt like that had witnessed a fairy tale wedding. We had a cocktail hour with appetizers and beverages after the wedding which our guests loved. Dinner and dancing followed in the reception venue which from the outside looks like a bar but is elegant on the inside. We served Chicken Piccata and Prime Rib- guests have commented and said the food was great! We had a great dance party with our guests along with a photo booth, cold stone catering, and an additional out door tent with a bar and cigar bar. I would recommend this venue and Dena and Allen to anyone. This was an extremely classy event that had a vintage/elegant feel and was all that we could have wanted. This venue is a gem!

A hidden gem

The Larimore is a hidden gem for wedding venues in or around St. Louis. Our guests were raving about how beautiful it was and even posted about its history in our family group chat after our wedding. The new team working events at the venue is incredible and so friendly. They were very receptive with any questions we had, kept us on track both preplanning and on the day of the event and were very helpful to ensure we had everything we needed to have a perfect day. They also work with a list of preferred vendors, which makes this location a one stop shop for a lot of your wedding needs. 10/10 would recommend this location for your special day.

I absolutely loved this place. I would recommend it to others. Dena and her husband really know what they are doing. They work well with your planner and are very helpful. The only thing I had a concern with was the bar service. You really don't much of a choice. The bar service is separate and if you choose beer and wine you only have the option of bud or bud light anything else will cost extra. The alcohol is somewhat the same, if you don't like what they have, there is no option to change it. Also they want you to tip in advance. I do understand they have rules they have to follow. And i don't mind tipping. I feel that if I'm paying and tipping I should be able to atleast select some of the options being served, and then they can charge accordingly. The Larimore House Plantation was a beautiful venue for my daughter's recent wedding. Dena was very professional and easy to work with. She handled many of the logistical details but also provided many helpful tips and ideas to help my daughter plan out the order of ceremony, reception, etc. Dena, Allen and the entire staff were helpful and friendly, making our wedding experience enjoyable from the day of our first visit to the Larimore House until the moment we drove away following the wedding.

My husband and I had our beautiful wedding with Larimore on September 10, 2011. Take it from a bride who worried about all of the details, Larimore provided a wonderful service from start to finish. Immediately upon contacting Larimore to request more information, they answered all of my questions over the phone and scheduled a first meeting and tour for the next week. The first meeting and tour with Dena was extremely informative and we actually began contracting that day. Dena is always willing to answer questions over the phone and on email as you progress through your wedding planning. She is extremely thoughtful, efficinet, and organized. If you didn't think of it, Dena has you covered! The final detailed meeting before the rehearsal and wedding was extremely helpful as well; Dena goes out of her way to ensure the day of is stress-free by setting up the ceremony and reception for you! Dena and Allen, and their staff, are extremely knowledgeable and make planning your unique special day manageable and just what a bride hopes for. They provide a list of extremely talented and trusted house vendors and provide a detailed suggested schedule to ensure your entire ceremony nad reception runs smoothly. The site provides a beautiful dressing area and amazing grounds for preliminary pictures. The ceremony site is just stunning! They will do just about anything to ensure your ceremony is outdoors. They even take care of your guests with music, beverages and munchies while you take family and wedding party pictures. The reception is orchestrated smoothly to include all of the important details, while still leaving time to dance and mingle! The food is delicious, portions are huge, and the serving staff is friendly. The reception is elegant and timeless. For a unique and beautiful reception and ceremony, and for as much of a stress-free experience as possible, I would definitely recommend Larimore to all brides!

Larimore Plantation is unique and affordable. Most consider it for an outdoor, garden venue because the grounds are so pretty when in bloom. We had a winter wedding in December and it was still beautiful. My daughter loved the simplicity, yet elegance of the chapel, and the reception/banquet area looked festive and sparkly with all the white lights. There was a big dance floor for crowd. Dena was very easy to work with---responsive, adaptable, and always calm. It was an excellent value.

We were married here 2 weeks ago and had an amazing day! We were able to come 2 hours early to get ready and take pictures and both of the owners were very helpful in all of our special requests. Dena is the wedding coordinator and she saved the day with a couple things that I forgot to prepare (There is So much to remember on your wedding day!!) We had two ministers and Allen was able to put cordless microphones on both of them for the ceremony. The parmesian chicken was delicious and even some picky guests gushed about how good it was. We used their House vendors for dj, cake and flowers and had absolutely no regrets with any of them. My only complaint was 4 or 5 guests who RSVP'd but didn't show up.....oh well. I hope this place is still around when My kids get married!

Beautiful Location

Dena and the Larimore staff were very helpful throughout the wedding process. Having a coordinator there day of definitely helped to relieve stress and stay on track. They provided 2 options for the ceremony, both indoor and outdoor and allowed us time to choose up until the day before. (with a November wedding, we weren’t sure what weather we were going to get.) Our biggest priority was choosing a venue where we could have the ceremony and reception at the same location for the convenience of our guests. Everything went seamless the day of and we had a beautiful day! We had a great time and would recommend the larimore to couples interested!

The only thing I would have changed about the entire day was being able to have had the reception last 1 more hour. With doing all the traditional formalities would have liked a little more time to dance at the end.

Also, our officiant and his wife did not get served dinner because we didn't have their names on our list. I wished I would have known this at the time because I would have paid for their dinners if I would have known. I'm not sure, but I thought we had included them in our numbers, but just didn't have them on our list. I was embarrassed when I found out later. I just wished it would have been brought to my attention that there was a problem.

Overall, was very happy with Larimore and staff! It is a beautiful place to have a wedding. The food was delicious and we received several compliments. Thank you for making it a very special day for Kristin and Jason!

Although we had well over a year to plan for this event, it really went fast. Everything was handled just the way we wanted. The setting was beautiful. Just as the guest were beginning to arrive, so did the storm clouds. It was mentioned that we should start early so we could be done before it started raining. I felt this was unacceptable and unfair to our guest. We finally decided to move inside to the chapel. It was disappointing, but the right move for everyone. In the end everything was just perfect.

Larimore House is beautiful and I am so glad we held our wedding there. Dena let us hold the ceremony outside even though the temperature was suppose to be below 60. That alone gets 5 stars because I really wanted an outdoor wedding. Everyone raved about the horse drawn carriage and the grounds. Dena also found our wedding song (my now husband had misplaced our cd last minute).

There were a few things that, while they weren't bad enough to ruin my wedding day, are things I think should be mentioned.

My girls ended up doing my bustle at the head table (my fault totally). I had no sooner sat down that the MOH and Best Man gave toasts. No one was told this was about to happen and therefore, no one had champagne poured. As we were eating, the wait staff appeared every few minutes to ask if we were done. This wasn't meant to be a race and quite a few of my guests mentioned this annoyance.

The biggest issue I had was, we cut the cake, then immediately did our dances. By the time we got back to our table and were ready for cake, it was gone! So, we paid for a cake that was thrown away. There was no announcement or anything prior to it happening.

Overall, I would recommend Larimore House. I am still sad about my cake, though.

The house was beautiful! However the owners made the day a little stressful. They were very controlling and had to oversee, approve and be involved in every little detail. My wedding planner who has been doing weddings for 20 years had even made a comment saying "they were they most difficult venue she has ever worked with". It was beautiful location, the food was wonderful and my guest had no idea that the owners were so intrusive however for me, the groom and the wedding party it made the day more stressful then it needed to be. Just something to think about when booking there.

This survey is so vague that it makes it difficult to respond.

The food, overall, was absolutely delicious. We have received many positive responses on the food.

The servers, however, did not serve tables in numerical order and even forgot about two tables--the groom's parents table and the mother-of-the-bride's table. Someone had to ask for food.

The servers did not pass out the dated napkins that were set out on the cake table. However, nothing these to the wedding coordinator was missed, so I am unsure if the servers were not allowed to touch them without being assigned the task.

We did not have time for a receiving line. (fyi: we booked the carriage) You may need to eat quickly or hold off on some dance time if you need to fit this in.

I had my wedding this Fall at the Larimore. If I wasn’t trying to plan for an accessible wedding for my out-of-town guests, I would have chosen another venue. It was nice that it was close to the airport, as we were out of town and trying to plan the wedding from another state. One other nice feature was the pure convenience of having our wedding and reception all at the same place.
The plantation house is beautiful from outside—which made for nice pictures. However, it is in need of a serious face-lift inside. There were outdated furnishings, dolls and old fake floral arrangements inside which made for awkward backgrounds. The temperature was also pretty warm (80 degrees) in both the house and the reception hall. Dena acted put out when my now Mother In Law asked if we could turn it down for our guests’ comfort.
As far as a wedding coordinator, Dena was very stand-off and not very personable in her overall demeanor. I primarily reached out as questions arose and found Dena to work with me on things, but only if I would pay extra. On the day of my wedding, she really didn’t approach us (except to say when we were cutting the cake) and never congratulated me during the entire event. My wedding party kept asking if she was ok or mad. I guess I’d just expect someone a bit more approachable and bubbly to work in the wedding industry. Even though there were no events before my Saturday evening wedding, she was unwilling to move the time for the rehearsal from noon on Friday to something later in the day. This posed a bit of a problem for some of the wedding party. Also, we asked to arrive an hour early and paid $200 extra for that time. As for the decoration packet, words of warning- don’t do this. At first, I thought it would make the planning easier, and once I looked at what was involved I asked to take this off our contract—primarily for the tulle backed chairs that really didn’t go with my theme at all. She charged me $150 extra dollars to take these off the chairs, even though they were included in the decorations I specifically didn’t want. These are already on the chairs, but they make you think you’re getting all of these “extra” decorations for the $600.
They also recommend using their preferred vendors. I would warn against this as well. Dena gave me a floral arrangement price list, but Jenny at Stems wanted the extra amount in another check written out to her. So, instead of getting any savings, it ends up being more of a hassle by writing two checks to Dena and the florist with no real “deal”. We also were told at the beginning of our wedding venue search that, if we had less than the 155 guests for the minimum per plate pricing, they’d offer an extra entrée option. This was another empty promise- we didn’t receive any extra selections and ended up paying more than $600 extra due to the smaller guest count yet still paying for the minimum 155 headcount.
For all of the extra nickel’ing and diming the Larimore did, we really should have looked elsewhere for someone who would be willing to work with me and make my day as stress-free as possible without all of the hassle.

Our wedding was July 7th 2018 and unfortunately the owners were terribly rude to me, my bridal party, and especially our photographers. The property was unkept and the day of the wedding we weren’t allowed onto the second floor balcony which when you see the property is one of the main points of us booking this venue. We were treated horribly until they finally allowed just my husband and I up there which was a terrible experience because the owner was unprofessional and horribly unaccommodating which isn’t right when you’ve paid $10,000+. It was obvious when we got there that it was filthy, they hadn’t cleaned at all and in a lot of our photos our photographers had to blur out our backgrounds because of the filth. So disappointing. Dena the owner/wedding coordinator was completely useless. Between the wedding and reception we paid for a cocktail hour where she was no where to be found and guests kept wandering into bridal party shots slowing everything down. They will give you a list less then two weeks before your wedding of things you’ve already spent money on that they won’t allow. I hope you didn’t envision a sparkler send off or plan on using silk flower petals. You aren’t allowed really candles so you’ll be running around trying to get flamless ones last min. They moved an easel that held a professionally commissioned artwork that we had made special for our wedding. Without our permission Denas husband moved it causing it to come crashing down. No apology. Nothing. You get one option for your main course and everything is bland. You get no choice of DJ and they will make you believe your photo booth is included then the day of your wedding they will say that no that was an extra charge. They will nickel and dime you to death! Unfortunately there was nothing positive about these two people and the lack of professionalism we experienced using this venue. I highly recommend entrusting your special day to a better, more accommodating, more professional venue.
