Where do I even begin? I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had at The Mill with the owners as well as the staff. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure your event is just what you imagined it to be!! My daughter and her fiance at the time fell in love with the venue from the moment they walked in and we signed a contract that very day. The communciation and willingness of the staff is amazing; where iun this day and age that is a rarity! The owners are so kind and we loved hearing all the history behind the venue. If you are looking for the perfect place... this is it! My daughters wedding was just over a week ago and was the stunning Winter Wedding she had always dreamt of.

Elegant and top personal service
I can't say enough about this venue. The location, the ambience, the staff made the wedding day an unforgettable experience. But what makes this venue stand out is the willingness of the staff to work hard and be available to make the occasion spectacular. Meredith was always available to answer questions and help out in any way we asked. Her presence and professionalism helped to make the wedding day unforgettable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Laboratory Mill. Not only is the venue itself breathtaking—with its unique charm, rustic elegance, and beautifully maintained grounds—but the people who run it are truly extraordinary. The owner, a kind-hearted woman, personally made sure everything ran smoothly and treated us with such warmth and care. Every single staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and genuinely invested in making our day special.
What truly set them apart was the way they cared for me when I unexpectedly became very sick on my wedding day. Their compassion and support went far beyond what anyone could expect. They showed incredible patience, flexibility, and understanding during what could have been a very stressful time.

Professional and Gorgeous Venue!
An expansive indoor venue full of charm! The historic mill is picturesque indoor and outdoor. At City Barbeque & Catering we greatly enjoy the ability to cater here. The Mill staff knows what they are doing, and send very organized floor plans and directions for service. Their staff is very professional and respond in a timely manner. 10/10 would recommend!

November 2024 Wedding
We went and toured the venue in August 2023, we didn't want to look at any more venues it was perfect. The information that was provided to us was very detailed. We really liked that there was a preferred vendor book it made choosing vendors very helpful especially with those vendors being at those facilities all the time. They always responded to us quickly, and it was very easy to drop in for a visit as many times as we wanted. They were very professional. As my day of coordinator was not able to be there on short notice they quickly stepped up and placed one of their staff in, Meredith made everything run so smooth! We couldn't have asked for a better day, they made things run very smooth. We highly recommend! Also being able to get in Friday to decorate for our Saturday wedding was a huge help!

Perfect venue for wedding!
We used this venue for our son's wedding. We had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception here. Also took engagement photos on the property. The staff were super to work with and everything was truly amazing! Very pleased - highly recommend!

Beautiful Venue For A Beautiful Day
The wedding was so beautiful and perfectly executed, and part of the reason goes to the Laboratory Mill. The staff were so kind, and helpful during the entire planning process, even up until the chaotic day of the wedding lol. They really helped me bring my parents vision to life, and so many of our family and friends commented how the venue was so beautiful! Even the manager joined us on the dance floor to dance the Biker’s Shuffle (you rock dude!) If you are nearby and would like a beautiful, rustic, historic venue to have your special day, then PLEASE book here at the Mill. You won’t regret it.

Our daughter got married at The Mill and the overall experience was magical! The facility and staff were amazing and professional. We did not want for anything. My daughter and I had visited 3 other venues before seeing The Laboratory Mill. Making the choice to have her big day at this venue was easy. The warm, professional and personal greeting started at the first visit which is what set them apart from the others. The owners are great and accommodating as well as their team! They have everything thought out, answered every question we had and even some we didn’t know to even ask. They were more than willing to let us come and look over the venue several times and let us talk things out in order to help us make decisions. We felt comfortable, like we were family. I can’t say enough great things about the owners, staff, and beautiful settings and scenery at The Laboratory Mill!!

I got married at The Laboratory Mill in August and it was absolutely amazing! The minute I walked into the venue I knew it was where I wanted my ceremony. I didn't even look at another place! The staff was so sweet and easy to work with, despite my never-ending questions and the chaos of planning. They worked with us to accommodate our ceremony needs and offered to help throughout it. We ended up having 3 events at the venue between Friday and Saturday. I would recommend this venue to all couples!!

Couldn't have chosen a better venue!
Our daughter's wedding was held at The Laboratory Mill on Saturday 5/20/2023. This was the first venue we visited and when we left, my husband said we might as well cancel all other venue appointments. We didn't cancel just to see what others offered and we ended up going back to reserve this venue as we found nothing that compared. We could not be happier with the way everything turned out. The venue is absolutely breathtaking and so spacious. The rehearsal dinner was also held here, and it was every bit as wonderful. I think the most important thing to me, beyond all of this, is that the staff was phenomenal to work with. They are genuinely there to make sure the rehearsal/wedding day is exactly as you want it. They are truly accommodating by answering all your questions, helping out in any way they can, and making sure you are getting everything that you expect to get and just all-around fun to work with. I don't think these words adequately express how wonderful this place really is as a venue. In a 1-10 rating I would rate them off the charts. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a top-notch venue for a beautiful wedding.

An amazing experience start to finish.
The location is beautiful and staff is the very best! My daughter and son-in-law had an amazing wedding in March. From day one, Linda was extremely helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had leading up to the day. This place is beyond amazing and feels as though it has what anyone could ever dream about for their wedding, at least I know it did for ours! I don't know if I can say enough words about how fantastic The Laboratory Mill is, the amount of area that this place offers is simply outstanding whether you are looking to have an inside or outside wedding. There are 2 upstairs areas, 1 downstairs and then plenty of outside area, plus there are getting ready areas for both bride and groom! Not only do they offer multiple areas that can be used yet they also offer items that you can rent from them to utilize in your wedding, which is absolutely amazing! At first the price might seem like alot, but please do not let that make you weary or scare you away as there are things that usually you would have to pay an additional vendor for that is included within their price.
Our main point of contact throughout our whole process of planning was Linda McGinnis, this woman is amazing and I absolutely love and adore he, by time it was the day of our wedding she felt more like family than anything else! She communicates clearly and often so no worries there.
If you live within the area, the state of North Carolina, having a destination wedding here in North Carolina, or even just need a location for a family gathering please do not overlook this fantastic, beautiful and historic location!

The Laboratory Mill is such a beautiful space for a wedding, big or small. Our wedding was unexpectedly small due to Covid, but the space didn’t feel overwhelming. The Laboratory Mill staff was welcoming and quickly responsive from the start and helped ensure our wedding went smoothly despite the many bumps Covid threw in the way. Cannot recommend the Mill enough!

Best decision
Having our wedding at The Laboratory Mill was the best decision we made throughout planning. Our wedding was originally scheduled for 3/28/2020 and thanks to Linda, we were able to postpone and secure a new date quickly and *stress free.* The building and grounds are so beautiful and well kept. Our day went so smoothly and we had no problems. The staff and owners truly care about what they do and it shows. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing.

Wedding of our dreams
The Mill was the forth venue we toured and when we walked up on the stage we both teared up, we knew right away this is where we were meant to get married. ALL of the staff was soooo nice and accommodating they recommended amazing other vendors to work with. We got married 3/7/2020 and even it still being slightly cold the grounds were still beautiful and green. We have some guests to this day that still tell us how amazing and beautiful the wedding venue was and how they have never seen anything like it. We had 120 guests and it was not crowded and didn’t look empty. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better Venue to have had our wedding. Thank you so so much for making us feel special and for all the little details that go into this beautiful venue.

The most perfect venue
I can’t put into words how perfect this venue is. Our small quarantine wedding was perfect because of The Laboratory Mill

The Laboratory Mill is an amazing, unique venue!
We had a wonderful experience with The Laboratory Mill! We had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony/reception at the Mill and everything was perfect. The staff are so professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to work with. The venue itself is beautiful and unique inside and out, with the SouthFork River behind it and the historic charm it makes for the most priceless photos. We could not be happier with our decision to choose The Laboratory Mill as our wedding venue!

Beautiful venue for your special event
The Laboratory Mill is a beautiful venue. The staff is very professional and accommodating. We hosted our daughters wedding there in February. The grounds are beautiful with waterfalls and beautiful areas for photos. The building inside is unique and just as beautiful. Ten stars...highly recommended

Mu daughter was married here and we could not have had a better experience.
The facilities were immaculate! The staff, especially Linda, treated us like family! I’m glad I don’t have a daughter to have to do another wedding for, but if I did we’d definitely come back here!!

Noah and I attended prom at the Laboratory Mill when we were in High School and just knew we wanted to get married there! Linda, and all of the staff at the Mill are so wonderful, and take such great care of their clients. I highly recommend the Laboratory Mill. They are the best!

Beautiful and wonderful customer service!
The Laboratory Mill was absolutely beautiful for my daughter's recent wedding. Linda and staff was wonderful to work with; so helpful and accommodating! I made countless phone calls, emails and trips there and was treated wonderfully on each occasion. The building itself is a spectacular venue, so very pretty, and the river setting is very scenic.
We would use this venue all over again! Thank you!

Best venue and team I could ask for
The Laboratory Mill had the charm and beauty that we were looking for. We completely fell in love with this venue upon our first visit. They are always responsive and helpful with any and all questions. For months, I researched venues that had the 'total package' to accommodate our guests and our budget and we couldn't be happier with this location!

I fell in love with this venue when we first toured. I took my bridals there as well.
As far as the wedding day goes, I can’t even imagine the staff/venue being ANY BETTER!!!
I had a walkie talkie the day of and could ask/request ANY and EVERYTHING.
10/10 recommend. Not to mention my wedding photos on site turned out SO SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

The Mill was my second choice due to other friends sharing their wedding experience at this location. However, the staff strives to provide an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Non the less the Laboratory Mill set themselves apart from every other venue. I knew I would marry the love of my life at the beautiful Laboratory Mill. The staff provided a unique and incomparable experience for my husband and me. I will remember our wedding day for many years to come. I am forever grateful to have had the experience we did with the Laboratory Mill. The staff was there for ever beckoning need. They were flexible with decor, the number of wedding guest, catering, music and more. If the wedding party or guest needed anything they were there with enthusiasm and a smile on their face. If you’re indecisive about anything they have ideas and a vision to share with you. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help in any way possible. Which makes coordinating and enjoying your day a breeze. Did I mention the photography views? Holy cow.... every angle of the Mill is stunning. You do not need to worry about getting the perfect picture. The original brick walls, huge windows, vintage appeal, rustic feel and open space make every picture perfect for the bride and groom as well as the guests. Overall our experience was beyond what I could have imagined.

The Laboratory Mill was the smartest decision we made during wedding planning. As soon as we booked them, Linda made sure we were comfortable with everything! They responded to every question I had within a few hours of asking! Not only is the venue itself absolutely breathtaking, the people that work their take such pride in it. Choosing the Mill as our Venue was an absolute no brainer. From the start Linda and the rest of the staff was SO incredibly helpful in planning and making the day go smoothly. I would absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding, bridal/baby shower, or any other event you desire! The location is easy to find with ample parking and the venue itself is gorgeous in every way

The staff at the mill are very accommodating and willing to help in any way to make your event the best that it can be. We hosted the rehearsal dinner in the card room, and the wedding was the next day upstairs. The rehearsal dinner theme was photography since my son is a videographer and they both love cameras!

Amazing Venue
Our wedding day was so perfect in every way. We could not have been happier that we chose The Laboratory Mill in Lincolnton, NC. We chose to get married in their downstairs area called the card room. More of a rustic/dark and quaint vibe and it turned out so beautiful. We had so many compliments on the space. The staff was amazing to work with and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. And their communication throughout the whole planning process was top notch... one of the best out of all of my vendors. Always responding promptly and always willing to let me visit as much as needed to plan. So happy to have our memories of this special day at this venue and can't wait to get all of our pictures back.

Eggers' Wedding, February 9, 2019
When our daughter got engaged, we immediately made an appointment to visit the Laboratory Mill because of the fantastic reviews, and based on the pictures, this venus was exactly what we were looking for! We made an appointment with Linda who we were beyond amazed! We LOVED her! The experience we had with everyone we came in contact with there was very professional and extremely accommodating. They set everything up exactly as we wanted for the day of the wedding. Our host for Friday night and Saturday was Jamie. He and the other staff were on top of everything making sure we had exactly what we needed and many times going above and beyond.
We also used the Card Room for our rehearsal. It is such a quaint space and making it so nice not to have to move to a different location.
As for our experience...I could NOT have asked for more! I would give them a 100 stars if that were an option!

I cannot express enough how fantastic the entire staff at the laboratory mill had been for my husband and I throughout the entire wedding process. Linda is always just a phone call away and is happy to assist in anyway she can from throughout the entire process. The staff the day of the wedding was very attentive and friendly throughout the entire day and night. We had a hurricane on our wedding day, and it was still the most perfect day thanks to the amazing staff, and fantastic vendors. The venue is stunning but very reasonable for all that comes along with it and the amazing service that is provided!! The people at The Laboratory Mill are what make this the best venue out there. They answered all of our questions, walked us through each step, were honest and clear, and the day of the wedding was a breeze. The venue itself is absolutely GORGEOUS too. My wedding was absolutely amazing. The most magical day of my life and I cannot thank the Laboratory Mill enough. They were so supportive of me as a bride throughout my whole wedding planning processes. We felt like we were living in a fairy tale during our daughter’s wedding on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Laboratory Mill is a romantic, beautiful venue with rich history. The view from the windows of the flowing water is unique and charming. The owners and staff are kind, professional, genuine people and we can’t say enough good things about them. From the day of our tour to the day of the wedding, they couldn’t have been more helpful. They were always one step ahead of us for all of our needs. I also used their recommended vendors and couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you so much for making Emily and Ryan’s dreams come true for a perfect wedding day!

We had a wonderful experience with the Lab Mill. Prior to the event, the team was incredibly organized with making sure everything would be set-up and ready the way we desired. We were able to visit the venue multiple times leading up to the event to help us prepare and visualize. On the day of, they continued to offer beyond-excellent service. Everyone we worked with was friendly and helpful. The venue itself is breathtaking and offers countless unique spaces that your photographer will love. It was the perfect day at an incredible venue. We highly recommend.

I couldn't imagine a more beautiful day. During the wedding planning process, we worked with Linda at the Laboratory Mill. She is not only the most genuine, sweetest, caring person I've ever met, but she is also incredibly knowledgeable about all of the in's and out's of the wedding industry. We booked the Mill at an incredibly low price because we had our wedding on a Sunday in February (highly recommend) and I never once felt that I lost any special experience by doing so. The entire Laboratory Mill team was there the morning of my wedding and happy to assist in any way. They made me feel like a princess and from parking to the last dance, everything was seamless. I planned and designed the entire wedding by myself, and it was so refreshing to have a whole team of people dedicated to making my day the best ever! Linda was incredibly accommodating and let me in the venue early in the morning to set up, assisted with anything that I needed help with, was available for any needs during the ceremony or reception, helped my vendors (catering and DJ) get situated, and handled clean-up. I can't wait to find a reason to have events here in the future! I love this team of people!

My advice would be to BOOK IT! From our first viewing to our wedding day, Laboratory Mill was the single best decision we made about our wedding. The entire staff was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend the Lab to anyone in the Charlotte area!

My husband and I have not one bad thing to say about the Mill. We were absolutely blown away when we first went to tour it. Linda and everyone at the Mill was outstanding!! They were always available to answer any questions we had during our planning. We had our wedding their in October and we had a lot of out of town guests. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the staff was. Needless to say our wedding went off without any problems!!! We wish we could relive it!!!

My husband and I got married at The Mill in June and it was nothing short of amazing! Linda and everyone there are so helpful from the minute you take a tour until your event is over! We cannot say enough nice things about them. They accommodated our large guest list with ease. Our entire day from start to finish ran smoothly - they checked in on us often and took care of all our vendors too - making sure everyone was on-time and in the right place. The list of vendors they recommend do not disappoint!
The Mill's staff is not the only wonderful thing though - the venue itself offers so much history and is unlike any other place we looked into for our wedding. There are so many great picture spots too - our pictures turned out amazing.
The Mill and it's staff are the best are we are SO glad we started our journey as husband and wife here!

As soon as we saw the Laboratory Mill, we knew that we had to get married there. This was the place of our dreams. The staff was so accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to make our wedding day perfect. On top of that, they made the whole planning process so easy. The scenery both inside and outside made for outstanding pictures, and the whole feel of the wedding was perfect. Our guests have been raving about how beautiful our wedding venue was. My husband and I knew that we wanted a place where we could have both the ceremony and reception all in one. We looked at five different venues in five different days, and on the fifth day, we found the Laboratory Mill. I could not have asked for a more wonderful venue. From Charlotte, where the majority of our guests were driving, it is a short trip, and well worth the drive. The mill is absolutely stunning. It has a rich history, a beautiful inside and outside area, and the people are the best most accomodating you could ask for. In the wedding business it is easy to feel as though your wedding is just one of many, and that your money is just what they are after, at the Laboratory Mill, they want you to have the day of your dreams, and they want you to feel like you are the only person that matters.
Linda and the whole team at the Mill let us have our run of the place for the day of and day prior to wedding. I truely do not have enough wonderful things to say about this magical place. Aside from finding my husband, the next best find of my life was the Laboratory Mill. I have heard so many brides have regrets on their wedding day, but I assure you that selecting the Laboratory Mill you will have the wedding of your dreams!

This venue and the team of wonderful people behind it made all of our wedding dreams come true. John, J, Jamie and Linda went above and beyond to take care of our every need and make sure every detail was perfect. The venue is absolutely stunning. The red brick, the beautiful wooden beams, the dam and the creek - all of it was nothing short of magical. It's a wonderful background for your big day, but again, it's the people that truly make this place special. My (now) husband and I knew from the moment we walked in this was the place for us. If you have the opportunity to have your wedding or event here, take it!

If this venue is available anywhere near the date you want to have your wedding...book it! You will never regret it! My husband and I booked this venue because there is nothing like it anywhere else even remotely close to Charlotte, NC, and I would dare say there are few venues like it anywhere!
Beyond the natural and preserved beauty of the building and grounds, the service is excellent. We wanted to keep going out for visits just to hang out and chat with the staff! While our entire wedding day was magical, as it is supposed to be, one of my favorite memories is at the end of the night when there were just a few immediate family members left and we spent some time talking to the folks that worked our wedding and reception. So personable, so professional, so conscientious, so warm, so friendly, and on and on and on.
We were blessed to have had our wedding at The Laboratory Mill, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! It will be the best decision you make for your wedding!

We were having a hard time in the Charlotte area finding an indoor venue big enough to hold the number of guests we were inviting. I found The Laboratory Mill online. We went to look at it and fell in love with it right away. For a year during our planning, The Laboratory Mill worked with us on everything. They let us come to The Mill several times to check it out and get more ideas for how we wanted to set it up and decorate for our wedding. So easy to work with, great on communication, easy going, open to all of our suggestions. Everything was perfect. We had a lot of guests traveling in from out of town, everyone said how beautiful of a place it was. They went on and on about the location, the friendly staff, the openness of the layout, the structure of the building, etc...everyone, including ourselves, loved it!! Made our wedding weekend perfect, exactly what we wanted!!

In the small town of Lincolnton, tucked in the woods right on the South Fork River, you will find the Laboratory Mill. When you drive down the graveled driveway, you will instantly be amazed at the beauty and historic value in this place. There is something about this location and this venue that puts the mind at ease and makes you enjoy this small town even more. Then, walk inside...you will most likely meet John, Cindy, or Jay (or all of the above). This is where my story starts. This family was the "icing on the cake." From the day I toured the Mill, to breaking down all of the wedding décor, these three people helped make my dream become a reality. While planning our wedding, my number one goal was to make it stress free for all (esp. my mom). The Laboratory Mill (TLM) jumped on board with all of my ideas and helped me sort through the details to make it as smooth as possible. If I ever asked them to do anything, I never got another response other than "of course."
The weekend of the "big day..." I don't even know where to begin. John or Jay were there every hour I had someone in the Mill decorating. They helped us the entire weekend (Friday-Sunday) with set up and break down. They also helped out all of my vendors with where to place things and helping my wedding planner keep up with the different vendors coming in. The day of the wedding, they recruited so much other help to help people park and just keep extra eyes on the event.
I could go on and on all day about TLM! What a wonderful venue and wonderful owners that have created a wonderful atmosphere for the perfect wedding! If you choose TLM, get ready for the most fun, beautiful, and stress FREE wedding day!

The Laboratory Mill was exactly what my husband and I wanted our wedding venue to be! It has an elegant but relaxed feel and is stunning both indoors and out. I mean, it has a beach and waterfall for crying out loud! Cyndi, John, and J all went above and beyond to make our wedding day run smoothly and perfect for us. J wired my chandelier to a drop cord and hung it on the stage for the ceremony for me. That was my dream and vision when I first saw the venue and J made it happen! We had full access to the venue and were able to get our hair and makeup done there, have food delivered for lunch, and just relax for a one-stop shop! They let my planner and other vendors deliver things that could be setup early during the week prior to our wedding day, which made everything run so smoothly the day of. Months later I still have guests commenting on how it was the most beautiful venue they had ever seen! I just love this place so much and comment to my husband that I just want to go back and visit it is so beautiful! Cyndi, J and John showed genuine care and concern to make sure everything was just as we hoped. I cannot thank them enough for our perfect wedding day and would recommend the Laboratory Mill to anyone!

The Laboratory Mill was the absolute perfect place for us to have our wedding! My (now) husband and I were set on having our wedding in downtown Charlotte until we went to view The Mill. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. From the open beams, to the hardwood floors and the beautiful water and sandy beach outside, not only did my husband and I rave about the venue, our guests haven't stopped talking about how wonderful it was! The owners and staff at The Laboratory Mill are top notch as well. My husband and I looked at a dozen venues all throughout the Charlotte and surrounding area. Every other venue we met with treated our wedding as a "business transaction". The owners and staff at The Laboratory Mill were genuinely invested in our wedding to help it be the most perfect day of our lives! (Which it was!) If there is one thing I would recommend from my wedding, it is the Laboratory Mill. To start out, the space is absolutely beautiful. One could truly not have one decoration and would still have a fabulous wedding. It's easy to create a beautiful event when the space is already beautiful. My favorite aspect about the building is that everything can be done in one place, and it is done very efficiently. I had my wedding AND reception there, which meant no driving for people. It also helped the elderly crowd, who probably wouldn't have attended the reception with such ease. The team does a great job of flipping the ceremony area into a perfect dance floor, and everything looked absolutely perfect!
John, Cyndi, and Jay are amazing to work with, and they are all people you can trust to make your day the best day. Anytime I wanted to come by to look at the space, I felt very welcomed and never a bother. Every time I called them with questions, they got back to me within 24 hours and helped me anyway they could. I loved the space and the people so much, that I also chose to have my Rehearsal Dinner there as well. They handle everything confidently, efficiently, and more than anything, they are truly passionate about what they do. While they maintain a great level of professionalism, they also maintain a HUGE level of comfort with each of their clients. Before I walked into The Laboratory Mill, I had no idea what to expect and just knew I loved the space. After my wedding, I would call John, Cyndi, and Jay friends. They are truly amazing people to work with. I would recommend this venue for any type of event- wedding, receptions, birthdays, anniversary parties, graduations, reunions, etc. It is perfect for any event, and you will not find better people to work with who you can count on for the perfect event!

The Mill is family owned and the staff is extremely personable and helpful. The price was exceptional considering the quality, authenticity, and aesthetics of the location. We were not disappointed!!

The Perfect Venue!
The Laboratory Mill is exceptional! Linda and her team are amazing to work with! They truly will walk through every detail with you, and make sure that everything is perfect for your day. They answered every single questions that we had, all while staying professional and with a smile on their face. We got many compliments about how beautiful the venue itself was - both on the inside and out! We got married on 10/30, so all the leaves on the ground outside and the waterfall made our pictures stunning! Would recommend this venue over and over again to any couple!

The family is wonderful to work with and the venue is lovely! We had a July wedding in 2015 and all our guests enjoyed themselves. We loved the river in the back it makes for gorgeous photos! We had our daughter's wedding here on July 1st, and it was truly unforgettable! The venue has so much beauty and character to it that we did not need to do much in the decorating department to make it our own that day. Being a July wedding, I was somewhat concerned that the age of the building would make it difficult to keep cool for a 5:00 wedding, but this was no issue at all as everyone felt well air conditioned.
Linda runs things beautifully and efficiently, and never made me feel like I was asking one question too many. She is very gracious and welcoming - a great fit for the venue contact. On the event day, Jamey was running things, and he was on top of each detail even before I knew it needed attention. Chelsea was fantastic as well, and handled unforeseen things as if they were very common - point in case, the unexpected monsoon 30 minutes before the wedding - I never knew she was racing to shuttle people from their cars to get them to their seats with as little dampness as possible until she knocked on the bridal parlor door, soaked to the skin in her raincoat - letting us know that everyone was inside and seated :)
As corny as this sounds, we were looking for a place that could feel sacred for the ceremony, as well as magical in it's celebration. It transformed all of our family and friends into kids getting to celebrate in a very grande fashion which, coming from all walks of life, was truly fun to see!

The place is absolutely beautiful. It has enough room to set more than 100 people for the reception. Definitely a great choice.

Overall I have no complaints about the venue expect that people were touring the venue the day of my wedding. I went to the venue early to try to relax and get rid of some pre wedding jitters and I did not appreciate the fact couples were walking around that morning when I just wanted some alone time. I wish we would have been informed of that in the beginning. That's really the only thing I would advise couples to ask about. Other than that the staff were very accomodating and I was pleased with how my day turned out.

Lovely Indoor Venue
Beautiful venue surrounded by trees and water. The staff was always a pleasure to work with and even got super excited about hour Halloween themed wedding. We couldn't have picked a better place to get married!

I loved having my wedding at The Laboratory Mill! I was able to take my bridal portraits on location. We had the entire day before to set up and have our rehearsal. They have beautiful bride and groom suites to get ready in and the best part is that you can have your ceremony and reception all in one building. Everything is handicap accessible and the owners are constantly updating the property. It is expensive to rent for a wedding, but the amount of time you can use the space, the staff that is on call for your wedding, and the amenities make it worth it. You don't have to worry about tables, chairs, or tablecloths because they are included in the rental price. They also have various add ons you can include to personalize the space. They recently finished a smaller space downstairs called the card room. It would be perfect for a small wedding or banquet.

Venue Review!
Our wedding at this venue went really well, I would say 4 stars! The staff was professional. The venue was clean and setup as previously planned. The value of the venue was great, especially given we had the entire property for the day of the event and was able to come in ample to time for preparation. In addition, although the cost of the bar services increased between the time we signed the contract and the 30 days before the event, they worked with us for other things. I really appreciated their flexibility. The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to responsiveness in the months right after booking them as our venue. As a "type A" bride, with lots of questions, I would have liked some responses to be a bit quicker, but that could also be a personal thing. In the 45 days before my event, they were very quick with responses and super helpful. I definitely believe this venue is one to use for any wedding and I would recommend.

February 2020 Wedding
I got married at the Laboratory Mill in February of 2020. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the discount offered during winter months makes it a great value for someone seeking a more budget-friendly option. Staff was very friendly and communicative. The venue does have fairly strict guidelines surrounding decorations and vendors. Make sure you review the contract well and ask specific questions, especially if you are DIY-ing. We had some issues arise because we rented our own sound system versus using a DJ company, but ultimately were able to work it out. However, our wedding was absolutely lovely and I am so glad we went with the Laboratory Mill for our venue. Definitely add it to your list to check out!
