The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel Reviews

My husband & I had our wedding at The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel in May and it truly was the best decision we made. We are fairly new to North Carolina so all of our friends and family came in from up north out of state. The game room was an absolute HIT and our guests had the best time. They were extremely helpful with any questions we had and made the process so seamless. We are so grateful to everyone that made our day as perfect as it was!

We used the Kimpton as our primary wedding block and had the best time! We initially selected them because we LOVE the Katherine (the restaurant in the hotel). The rooms were beautiful (they gave us a suite), the beds were super comfy (we may be ordering a mattress from Kimptonstyle.com), and the game room in the basement was the best play to spend time with our wedding guests. Shayla from Group Sales was amazing and so easy to work with! Everything about this hotel was perfect! Give it 5+++ stars.

We hosted our ceremony, reception, after party, and rehearsal dinner here and could not be more pleased with how it all went. The food was delicious. The venue itself was gorgeous. The staff (specifically Tricia, Kelly and Kellen) worked tirelessly to make sure we didn’t have to worry about a thing. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Oh my gosh they were FANTASTIC! We did a 3 week engagement (military couple) and Tricia Shaw went above and beyond consistently to help us plan and make sure everything was perfect. Because of her attention to detail I was able to relax about this quick wedding and enjoy the planning. The food was delicious, the staff was great as well. All night they kept asking if we needed anything and made sure everything ran smoothly. Beyond that they upgraded our room and Tricia left us Mr&Mrs. koozies in our room with a sweet note AND the front desk provided us with local brews and another sweet note. Everyone had a great time! Oh and the hotel is great for taking photos as well!

We chose the Kimpton because we believe it is the best hotel in Winston-Salem. The location is wonderful, and it allowed us to have all activities in one place. The staff is very professional and the service was amazing. They did not miss any details. If there were any hiccups, we were not aware.

A few suggestions to make the experience an even better one would be guaranteeing a room with a great view, a potential turn down service for the happy couple, or a congratulatory gift, treat, or something along those lines after the big day.

I booked a stay for my daughter's and her husband for their wedding night a month in advance. When they arrived after the reception around midnight, the hotel refused them their room stating they needed me to bring the credit card to Winston Salem (I don't live in WS) at midnight to check them in. That was ridiculous and they gave them the run around for an hour or so before refusing them, what a great letdown! By this time, they no longer cared to stay where they were treated so poorly after an exhausting day. The amount paid in advance was refunded to the card in time. I wrote a letter to the manager of Kimpton Cardinal and received no response.
