Trying to find a greenhouse for a wedding ceremony within a year of the wedding date is difficult at best. Doesn't seem to matter the season, everyone want's one for obvious reasons; all the outdoors pretties without all the outdoors nasties. The Jewel Box was an amazing place for a wedding ceremony and worth the money spent for beautiful flora in a late Missouri November. Trying to get a reservation for the ceremony...took an act of divinity! It's not uncommon for the Jewel Box to book a solid wedding schedule 2 years in advance, so if you're set on a date and you're looking book within a year say a prayer or few. In my case, it was more about location than the date itself. The pictures were amazing (at all, content is as important as equipment). There's no heating or air conditioning because it's a greenhouse; it was perfect for cool weather, but I'd advise a personal assessment for you and your guests in the heat of summer ($1.00 entry fee is cheaper than a poorly prepared bride having heat stroke from a tight, thick gown). They don't provide sound equipment, but the acoustics provide the perfect microphone for those who can speak above a whisper but be prepared with a speaker or radio for music (a phone worked "ok," but lacked my desired effect; we forgot the speaker at home :( ). Also, don't plan a long ceremony; they book back to back weddings and we had 1.5 hrs for decorating, guests to arrive and be seated, wedding party to line up & enter, ceremony, wedding party exit, guests exit, wedding party pictures, and clean up crew to remove decorations and wedding party items (don't worry about chair set up, Jewel Box staff's got that down).
