Beautiful Venue for our Fall Wedding

We got married on November 22, 2025 at The Island House, and we are so happy we chose it as our venue. Nestled right on the Stono River, it is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I are Charleston natives, and I had never even heard of this venue before we started touring, but it ended up being absolutely perfect for us. After booking, we even discovered a special connection: my husband’s father had ties to the family that runs the property, which made choosing The Island House feel even more meaningful.

Katie Mahon was instrumental in helping us plan our wedding at The Island House. She patiently answered our endless emails and questions and made sure her team was fully prepared and on top of every detail on the wedding day—and they absolutely were.

Everything was executed flawlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy the day without worry. The venue was especially beautiful in the fall, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to have celebrated our wedding. We are beyond grateful to The Island House and its team for making our day so special.

The Perfect Venue

The Island House is absolutely the place you want to have your event! The grounds of the estate are absolutely unmatched, especially the water views in the back of the property. The inside of the house is well is also equally as amazing and beautiful! Watching from the big windows in the bridal suite my wedding set-up evolve throughout the day was so cool. The makeup mirrors in the next room was the absolute best spot to have a girl-party getting ready with my girls doing our hair and makeup! And who could go wrong with a fishing/hunting themed groom suite downstairs?! And did I mention that there was an appearance of dolphins swimming in the river behind the property during our reception?! Our guests went absolutely bananas about that!

Working with the Island House throughout the entire process leading up to our wedding was also absolutely seamless from start to finish. We worked directly with Lynn, who was always extremely timely and responsive for all of our questions and concerns. You will be in the best hands possible, and your event will be undoubtedly amazing hosted here!

Island House

The Island House was everything we wanted for our wedding and ceremony. The staff was so helpful in assisting us with all planning needs and communicated so well with our wedding planner. I would not have changed anything. They were PERFECT for our wedding

Perfect all around

Island House was perfect. We have not stopped receiving compliments for using this venue for our wedding. They are very easy to work with, flexible, and professional. They know how to make sure your day goes perfectly and they have a venue that offers so much. From beautiful sunsets near the water to glorious trees to a uniquely decorated house, this place it phenomenal. Beautiful venue! Highly recommend

We had our wedding at The Island House in August and it was amazing. The location, the water and the views are spectacular. Not only is it a beautiful backdrop, the house is all yours for the day making it easy for the bridal party to get ready & hang out before the wedding. Lynn is so easy to work with and went above and beyond for all of our needs especially since we were one of the “Covid couples” who had to postpone. I highly recommend The Island House to have your dream wedding or party!

A Dream on The Water

We chose The Island House at first glance of their beautiful, secluded house on the water. The benefit of having a space to relax and get ready cannot be underestimated. Lynn was so easy and encouraging to work with while planning. I cannot express enough how truly pleased our entire wedding was with our dream wedding venue.

This venue was everything!

First of all, Lynn was nothing short of amazing to work with! She was helpful, flexible and always so genuine and pleasure to talk to. Her team was fabulous the day of our wedding to make sure everything ran seamlessly. This venue has everything from the house, to the water views and even those scenic southern Spanish moss trees. Having a tent on site was such a help for the reception and the time of year! Great space and would absolutely recommend.

We couldn’t of chosen a more beautiful venue!

The Island House was nothing short of amazing! From the second we met with Lynn we knew we were in great hands! She walked us through every detail and answered all of our questions! She answered every text from me quickly (even while on maternity leave). Having the entire house to get ready in on the day of our wedding was amazing! So spacious and I literally watched our wedding come to life through the windows upstairs! My guest are still talking about how beautiful our venue was!!! Would highly recommended!!!!

Booking the Island House was the first, and one of the best, decisions we made for our wedding!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at The Island House! We toured at least 15 venues when we were looking for our perfect place, and the Island House was the only one we left that my husband said "I could see us getting married there!" From the minute we signed the contract, we felt like we were in great hands. Lynn was so quick to respond to every question I had during booking, and made me feel so comfortable with our decision. We decided to get ready in the house the day of, and I couldn't recommend that more! Being able to see everything come together was a dream, and it made it so stress-free I kept calling myself Bridechilla! Our guests were amazed by the location, and we can't wait to get our pictures and video back. Thank you so much, Lynn and Island House staff for being part of our perfect day!

The Island House was a dream. It is so convenient how the girls are able to get ready upstairs and the guys can get ready downstairs. You also have the use of the house so you have an accessible kitchen/bathroom/ living room for all your things. The scenery is breathtaking. It is the perfect place to have the ceremony and reception in the same place, making it easier for you and your guest. Thank you for sharing a place where so many wonderful memories were made.

The Island House was an absolute dream. I could not have pictured a more perfect place to get married. Lynn was amazing and so was the other staff. Lynn was quick to answer emails and allowed us to go visit the site as many times as we wanted. We go ready there and saw them scrubbing the grounds to insure the ground was clean for the wedding. They were extremely accommodating. The Island House was perfect in every way.

The Island House was an amazing venue and I am so thankful I was able to book for our wedding. Lynn is incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and quickly responds to any questions. She was easy to work with and even provided recommendations for other vendors when I asked. Everything went so smoothly the day of and all of the information and advice she provided. We did ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour on the front patio and reception under the tent and everything was beautiful and flowed so well! I didnt have to spend as much on flowers because the venue is already beautiful! I highly recommend The Island House and am so glad we got married here!

I got married at the Island House in the beginning of April and it was the absolute perfect wedding venue! The venue itself is stunning, and Lynn was so helpful throughout the whole process! She was very responsive to all of our questions and even gave me some suggestions for other vendors, which was a huge help for me! The inside of the house was perfect for the whole wedding party to get ready in the day of while still keeping the girls and guys separated. And it was so much fun to be right there and be able to see the setup process and everything come together the day of.
Our guests could not stop raving about the beautiful setting and how smoothly everything ran!
Our entire experience was amazing, I could not have asked for anything better for our wedding!

We decided to book the Island House sight unseen just based on the glowing reviews here! Lynn was outstanding and a great resource because she was married here too. She gave us a full tour of the venue and we immediately fell in love with the beautiful grounds and the quirky manor house! There were dolphins swimming in the river when we first visited, and then dolphins swam by right before the ceremony started - the guests loved it! Every photo that I've seen from the wedding day shows off the AMAZING view of the water, the marina, the pretty azalea bushes, or the wild flower fields. Booking the Island House was our first decision in the wedding planning process, but it was definitely one of our best decisions!

I cannot begin to express how AMAZING this venue and Lynn, the coordinator from the Island House, were for our wedding. The venue itself is a gem! It was such a beautiful background for our wedding and provided beautiful space for the ceremony and reception. I love the house where you can get ready on site and the tent set up on the water was great space for our reception. We also used the front of the house for cocktail hour. I also could not have pulled off our wedding the way we did without Lynn. Her coordination services went above and beyond what we would have expected! She was so sweet and easy to work with, very responsive throughout the process, and very calm and amazingly helpful on the day of our wedding. It was a bit windy on our wedding day, which changed up a couple of our plans and Lynn was so great in helping us with Plan B's as needed. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!! Thank you so much to Lynn and the Island House for making our special day so perfect!

I just had my wedding at The Island House in December and it was perfect! My husband and I spend a lot of time on the water so we knew we wanted to get married at The Island House before we even took an official tour. The inside of the house is beautiful and I loved that the girls could get ready upstairs and the boys get ready downstairs. I also liked watching the set up and guests arriving from the upstairs! The grounds are well maintained and provide a beautiful, natural scenery for any wedding. We had a gorgeous sunset happening towards the end of our ceremony which made for some great pictures. I am so happy we were able to get married at The Island House! I wouldn't change a single thing!

Book it now and make sure to add on the wedding coordinator, Lynn. She was amazing, worth every penny. I had several members of the wedding party and guests compliment the wedding coordinator. She was fantastic and made the planning and day of a breeze. The Island House and its surrounding property is gorgeous, the perfect setting for a low country wedding. The convenience of being able to get ready at the house and have the ceremony + reception in the same setting was a huge plus for us. We saw 12 venues, mostly downtown, The Island House had us as soon as we saw it.

From the very beginning my parents and I fell in love with the venue. Lynn was so helpful, honest, and easy going so we loved to communicate with her about wedding questions and advice. The house is really fun and works well for big or small wedding parties. My husband and and I had a large wedding party and it was big enough to even have some of our family members use the house to get ready in and eat some food before the wedding. We had about 100 guests and could have easily added another 100 to the number, but preferred a smaller group. Our wedding date was Dec 4th so it was 50-60 degrees after the sun went down. We originally didn't want to have the sides of the tent down for the reception, but we had to for the weather. It ended up looking really pretty and we stayed very warm inside. Plus the lights from the DJ looked great with the sides down.
Our wedding was the best day of our lives so far and I wouldn't change a thing about the venue!! Highly recommend!!

My Daughter picked the island house a year ago with me there just agreeing on what she wanted! Knowing November is tricky cause you never know what the weather will do! We could of not asked for a more beautiful picture perfect day! Lynn was so Helpful and right there to be on hand for all our needs! The venue was perfect for warm or cold weather! I recommend anyone who is looking for a real Charleston southern scenery and a perfect host like Lynn and the crew at the Island House to book there special day there you won't be sorry ! We so so enjoyed our experience with the Island House! As soon as I saw their website, I knew it was my dream venue and looking back, it definitely didn't disappoint! Our guests loved the sweet southern feel of the charming house as well as lovely view of the water. We did our ceremony in from of the house and our reception behind. Lynn and the staff there were very helpful and could not have made the day (and months before) go more smoothly. Our vendors loved working with the Island House staff and we were thankful for how flexible they were in helping our visions come to life. As I look back, I am so grateful we chose the Island House and would do it over and over again if I could!

My wife and I recently were scheduled to have a destination wedding at the Island House on September 2nd, 2016. We had both chosen this beautiful venue a year prior, and had visited the site twice. The view on the property was simply amazing. The Island House was very flexible and helpful with the needs of our caterer, DJ, bar service, and tent rental company. Unfortunately Hurricane Hermine decided to interrupt everything for us. We arrived two days prior to our wedding, and we met with Lynn, the event coordinator, who had been working with us from the beginning. Hurricane Hermine still was on course to hit the area of Charleston. Lynn and her team worked extremely hard to make sure that this special day would happen for us. We wanted to wait to see if the hurricane would change its course, but we really did not have much time. Lynn and her team went above and beyond to find us a backup venue. In a moment like that, you want to just break down, because everything isn't going as planned, but Lynn and her team made it all possible. We had to move our wedding to an indoor location and everything was wonderful. We understand that the Island House did not have to do what they did, but the fact that they did, it was truly a blessing. I would highly recommend anyone to get married at this location. The Event Coordinator, Lynn was very professional and simply such a great person. Her staff was amazing as well, and even the owner reached out to my wife and I, which truly meant a lot. The Island House is such a beautiful venue and has waterfront views like no other in Charleston. It even comes with a tent and some rentals which helps with your rental costs. If possible get Lynn to be your week of coordinator. She is extremely organized, and will make sure your day goes off without a hitch. I can't say enough how crucial having her helping us was on our wedding day - she keeps everything moving and is on top of everything. The entire Island House team was great to work with and I would recommend this venue & team over and over. Thank you!!

Every experience we had with the Island House was a great one. From our initial visit with the owner to view the property, to our coordination with Lynn, we had no complaints. The venue was perfect for us. We loved the water view, the cocktail area in the front and tent space. We were really impressed with what was included in our rental. Everything was clean and really well cared for, you can tell they really take pride in their facility. Even though they had an event the night before you would never have known when we got there... it was perfect.

I couldn't have been happier with The Island House for our wedding. Lynn and the staff are so nice and helpful. Lynn is very responsive to emails and calls and gets the job done! The venue and grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. There are so many areas you can utilize for an outdoor wedding and ceremony! Our guests loved it! We used the salon, caterer, band and rental company that they suggested as well and everything was perfect! It was priced very reasonably compared to other outdoor venues in the area as well! Perfection!

Having our wedding at the Island House was the best decision we made during the whole planning process! The atmosphere was absolutely perfect! The weather was also perfect! What a beautiful venue! My daughter chose the Island House for her wedding in December. I was a little freaked out and not sure coming from the north and trying to plan a wedding from afar. However, Lynn was a doll to work with. We lucked out with the weather and our guests told us it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to. I am sure they meant the bride :-)...but the venue was magical. A tent with lights by the river. A beautiful sunset, a Carolina blue sky with stars that were sparkling.
Lynn attended to every detail that we asked for and then some. Our guests loved the fire pit. Because of Lynn I was able to be a comfortable guest at the wedding also, she kept things running like a well oiled machine. I would definitely recommend the Island House for your wedding or special event.

We had our wedding at The Island House on 10/10/15 and it was absolutely perfect! Most of our guests came from out of town and they thought the venue was beautiful and one of a kind. My husband and I had trouble finding a venue after looking at so many places, but right when we got to The Island House we knew it was the place for us. It is private, on the water, has a beautiful field of flowers, and more than enough room for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I cannot say enough how perfect this venue was, thank you so much for helping making our wedding day simply amazing!!! We hosted our wedding at The Island House in early November. It was the most perfect day because the venue is absolutely stunning and the team that works with the venue is incredible. We were married on 10/23/15 at The Island House and could not have imagined a more perfect day. We chose The Island House over a year and half before the wedding, after looking at many of Charleston's "prime" venues we were becoming a little discouraged, we wanted something that gave the perfect lowcountry feel, but that would give us the intimate vibe we wanted. Just pulling up to the property we knew we had the perfect venue. Every element is amazing, the house, the interior decor, the patios, lawn, fields of flowers, the water. There is nothing lacking. Lynn was so helpful in explaining all of the many extras that are included (such as chairs, tables, and permanent structured tent) and the many details that can be added (boxcar bar, cafe lighting, tent liner, etc.), we felt comfortable and so excited! We worked with Lynn and Katie Speights (Katie Jean Events) to plan our wedding day and we couldn't have been happier. All of our guests raved about the location and all the details!

This was the first wedding venue we visited and immediately fell in love! It is the perfect location for a private, waterfront event. There are so many beautiful spots outside to take pictures as well as inside the house. Lynn did an amazing job at keeping in contact with me and answering all of my questions up until our big day. We used her Day-of-Coordination services, and I am not sure what we would have done without her!! She helped everything run as smooth as I could have ever asked for. I most certainly recommend this site for future events!

The Island House is a very beautiful wedding and event location. Lynn, the Island house event coordinator, was a wonderful commodity to have throughout the initial viewing and question stage. Again, I must reiterate how beautiful this location is and we just feel in love with it the very first time we pulled up; it simply felt perfect! Our guests were also truly impressed by the venue. On the day of the wedding Paul, the owner of the location, came out to answer a few questions I had regarding extra materials around the property and was extremely helpful. We were truly impressed that the owner went out of his way to make sure that everything was perfect for us and made the day that much more special. No one was simply looking to make money and treated the day as if it was one of their own.

Lynn and team at the Island House were great. The venue is beautiful and the fact that it comes with so much is a fantastic value. They have a good number of tables and chairs, light fixtures, and the tent set up. Their preferred vendors were great to work with. The fact that they have parking and cars can be left overnight is ideal since it is a little further away from town.

This is absolutely the perfect venue. We wanted something that was on the water and would not break the bank. For the cost you get tables, chairs and a tent with lighting included in the price is great. The Island House was the perfect location for our October wedding. We were lucky and the flowers were in full bloom and provided a gorgeous backdrop as well as being on the river. Paul originally gave us a tour and you can tell he is very passionate about it being a wonderful venue. Lynn was always available to answer questions. I even had to go back twice after our wedding to pick up things that were accidentally left behind. They were even able to find an ipod nano that we had left almost a month after the wedding! I received endless compliments on the venue and they are great professionals to work with.

The Island House was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. It is a beautiful house, located on beautifully kept grounds, with multiple event spaces and many unique and picturesque photograph opportunities.

The staff was patient and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. They were helpful in recommending local venders. They were very aware of our budget and the fact that we were planning our wedding from out of state, and they offered to help us in any way that they could. The reserving process and coordinating process was easy and simple and stress free. They made us feel special and made us feel that our special day was as important to them as it was to us.

The house offered enough space for our entire wedding party to get ready. There was room enough for the women and men to have plenty of privacy and a stress free environment to get ready for the day in. There is a classy and varied indoor décor, so that all of the photos taken in the house ended up feeling unique and high end.

The grounds include a beautiful flower field, stunning water views, beautiful large trees, and an old world style home. The tent, tables and chairs were in wonderful condition, and it was incredibly convenient not to have to use a rental agency to deliver all those items.

The staff was friendly, personable and patient with our family and guests. They were always easy to get in touch with, and very open to our themes and decoration ideas. They answered questions patiently and in a timely manner. We would heartily recommend The Island House to anyone looking to plan a special event.

The Island House was absolutely perfect for our wedding! The venue is breathtaking! This gem has all the great things that Charleston has to offer - a beautiful field of wild flowers, water front view, gorgeous plantation house, and of course, all the charm. My husband and I searched many places and knew we found the perfect location as soon as we stepped on the grounds. Everyone was extremely polite and so easy to work with. We loved that we could bring in outside caterers and that it already had all the facilities on site, making planning (and budgeting) much more manageable! They also have an on-site coordinator, Lynn, who we choose to hire. She was fabulous! She knew exactly what needed to be done and always offered great leads or opinions when I needed them. Lynn (along with the rest of the staff) made our entire wedding experience so wonderful. The overall ambiance at The Island House was more than we could have ever hoped for, and thanks to The Island House team it was truly the most amazing day ever! My husband and I had our wedding at the Island House on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend a few months ago (2014). Everything was wonderful, and the venue was so beautiful! All of my guests commented on the space and how pretty it was with the tent, the lights, being right beside the water, and the gorgeous sunset that took place right as the reception was getting started. We even had dolphins swim by during the ceremony. Paul and Lynn were both very easy to work with and were quick with their responses when I contacted them via email or phone. We had our ceremony by the water to the side of the house/tent, the cocktail hour at the front of the house, and the reception in the tent at the back of the house. The house itself was a perfect place for the bridal party to get ready for the big day and the large window in the bridal suite allowed me to watch everything being set up. The scenery around the house is beautiful, and this allows for tons of picture opportunities. We had perfect weather, so were able to take advantage of all the venue had to offer. Would definitely recommend the Island House to future brides!

Besides being a beautiful property on the water, the venue rental includes a tent, tables, and chairs along with other options. The inside of the house has nice bridal and groom suites in which to get ready. It is an ideal place to have both the ceremony and reception. Lynn is very accommodating and easy to work with.

This was a truly beautiful venue that looks onto the Stono river.
It was also extremely good value as the tent and some tables /chairs etc were included in the price.

My daugher got married last Saturday at the Island House. She wanted an outside wedding with a water view and this venue fit the bill. The seven day weather forecast was doubtful for a beautiful, warm, sunny Charleston day on the 23rd but, the Island House laid my mind to rest when they immediately offered heaters and assured me the sides of the massive reception tent were down and all would be fine.

The morning of the wedding it began raining and didn't seem like it was going to stop! My planner and I decided to move to Plan B which was to move the ceremony under the tent. At around 3 pm the rain stopped! The next thing I knew, I saw an employee from the Island House using a leaf blower and drying off chairs! My husband and brother quickly jumped in and dried 150 chairs just in time for our first guests. Additionally, the staff opened the "House" up to the wedding party a bit earlier than arranged to provide a space to get out of the rain and cold. All of our needs were anticipated and met.

The price for the venue is comparable to other outside venues that we looked at but, The Island House offered so much more! Beautiful grounds, a gorgeous, clean, HUGE permanent tent on a cement foundation, beautiful romantic lighting for our evening reception, tables/chairs and the use of the house for the bridal party to get ready in!

What made the experience even more pleasant was the friendly, responsive staff that run the venue. I would recommend this venue to anyone! It is the perfect Charleston wedding venue.

I knew before Chris and I were even engaged that this was the place we would be getting married. We spotted it from the Stono River one afternoon during a boat ride. We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Island House and it was the most beautiful day we could have ever imagined. We had originally picked another venue but due to some complications, we had to quickly find another venue and Lynn was wonderful to work with. Our ceremony was at 4pm with the reception afterward and we received so many compliments on how beautiful the setting was. Since it was cold, we had the sides of the tent down and everyone commented on how beautiful the tent was with the lighting and chandeliers. There is plenty of parking, the grounds are beautifully manicured, the house is a great place to get ready and the vendors can set up any time during the day. It was the perfect place and I would highly recommend The Island House!

I recently got married at The Island House and I have so many fabulous memories of the space. First of all, Paul and his family are great to work with and that’s a big part of renting venue space. When it came time to tour various spaces in Charleston for my ceremony / reception, I toured all the well-known wedding reception spaces I knew of including the William Aiken House, the Historic Rice Mill, Boone Hall, Gibbes Museum of Art, the Tea Plantation, the Harbour Club, Middleton Place, Thomas Bennett House, Wickliffe House, etc. Then I ran across a website for The Island House which we had to go see because it was new to me. I had not heard of it and it was on my old route to work when I lived in Charleston. When we arrived to tour the indoor / outdoor space around the house, my decision was. The space is secluded and is situated right on the water. The number of photo opportunities is endless. We had the cocktail hour in the front of the house on the oyster patio while the reception was hosted behind the house under the tent. Several of my guests were from Charleston and they too had not been to a wedding at The Island House before so it was exciting on that end as well – that it is still new to a lot of locals in Charleston. The interior of the house is very southern and I just loved it. The package that Paul and his family have out together for potential brides is amazing. They offer much more than many venues and have worked really hard to improve the grounds for weddings.

We could not have picked a better venue for our ceremony and reception! There are a tent, tables, and chairs included. The tent has optional sides. There is spraying for bugs the day of. Optional tiki lights as well. It is located on a river which makes a beautiful background. There were even dolphins swimming in the river during our ceremony and the rest of the night. It was perfect. The owner is very easy to get along with and is very accommodating. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding!

Absolutely worth every penny. My wedding photos are unbelievably great because of the water in the background. It is an island in itself and you get to use the whole thing. It comes with a beautiful tent and rentals for you to use. The best part was the whole house that we were able to use to get ready and take wonderful pictures. The Island House was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I would highly recommend to any bride. The venue is family run, and Paul is a pleasure to work with! The setting is just perfect for a wedding. The wedding party can get ready in the house, the tent (with concrete floor) is included in the rental price as well as a portable restroom, the ceremony location by the water is stunning, and they have sides to the tent that can be put up if needed depending on the weather. I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to hold my wedding. My guests are still talking about how beautiful it is. We had a beautiful sunset and were able to walk out on their docks to take some amazing pictures. It was absolutely perfect, and I couldn't have envisioned a more beautiful location!!

The owner, Paul, was there checking in throughout the planning process and then again closer to the date so that he could adjust the tent size based on venue changes!!! I didn't have to go through calling and emailing the tent company- he took care of it for me! They let us use the golf cart to check out stuff around the venue for great pictures, rather than having us walk everywhere. Post-wedding, we flew off on our honeymoon the next day, when we returned a week later we couldn't find our guest book! Paul had kept it safe in the house and when I called to say I was on the way up he brought it to the marina office- I don't know many people these days who would go so far above and beyond before and after the event. I didn't even mention how beautiful the venue is, it is absolutely breathtaking and so worth the price (which is very very reasonable). I suggest you go and look at the venue, when we saw it- we had made our decision! Once you meet Paul and see that lawn and patio, you'll be sold as the pictures aren't hyped up!!!

Paul at the Island House was so wonderful to work with. I would recommend the Island House to anyone for any occasion. I can't wait to get back out there again. It is so beautiful.

We had a fairy tale wedding at The Island House! Paul Speights was kind, considerate, flexible, and went completely above and beyond what any other wedding venue would have done for us. We chose to do our catering through 3 Little Birds and our friends and family could not stop raving about the food.

The view was stunning, the guests were thrilled, and all in all it was a completely unforgettable night. Who says wedding planning needs to be stressful?!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue. I am so happy we chose it. Paul was more than helpful in so many ways. He helped with things that came up that were definately not his responsibility to take care of, but he did it anyway. The Island House worked well with our caterer and photographer (neither were locals) to make everything run smoothly. Our guests thought the location was beautiful. We even had compliments from guests on the bathroom trailer that is heated and lighted. This Venue is going to become very popular!

The Island House was the best thing that could have happened for us in planning our wedding. They made the event come together flawlessly, and exceeded our expectations in every aspects. Paul and his team are a pleasure to work with!

This venue is absolutely AMAZING!! The only reason I gave the value 4.5 is because it would just be easier if they charged all of their fees upfront. I feel like a lot of them are add on (i.e. they charge a percentage of your food/bar sales, cleaning fee of house, and only allow 3 hours in house prior to event before having to pay extra). I feel the house should be open to the bridal/groom party starting at 11:00 day of event (gives everyone time to get ready). Either way, this event space is absolutely fantastic and Lynn is a life saver! She is organized and so easy to work with. I had a day of coordinator and Lynn went above and beyond my coordinator in order to make sure my day was perfect! Highly recommend!

We loved the Island House the second we saw it on a tour while doing our reception hunt! They were easy to communicate with and everything we could of asked for was done to our liking! The beautiful scenery speaks for itself and the staff at the Island House do everything in their power to make sure your day is as memorable and spectacular as you could of hoped and dreamed for. Beautiful location and will always hold a special place in our heart!

The Island House was such a great location for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and the reception area under the tent was perfect. Lynn was very responsive and helpful. You don't have to use any particular vendors - which is a huge plus. Many of the venues in Charleston require you to use some very expensive caterers so it makes up for the cost. They also have several tables and chairs for you to use, which saves a lot of money.

We had such an amazing wedding and The Island House was the perfect venue for us. We wanted something that was elegant and simple, by hosting both our ceremony and reception in one place. The venue was great to work with and we got everything we wanted. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the venue and the dramatic backdrop. The only downside was some of the fees for add-ons added up, but we were willing to pay for the experience that we wanted. We would definitely choose the Island House if we had to do our wedding again.

My daughter and her fiancé fell in love with The Island House the first time they saw it! Later Lynn took my daughter and I on a tour. We loved having the room for the girls to get ready, have their make up and hair done and hang out upstairs while the guys did the same downstairs. During the whole planning process Lynn answered countless questions so patiently-even when I asked the same ones over and over! The setting is gorgeous! The property affords lots of options for having the ceremony facing the river, the cocktail hour in the front of the house and the reception in and around the tent. There's also lots of room for kids-big and little to play yard games! We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day at the beginning of March. Unfortunately it was a bit chillier and windier than we would have liked but the sides to the tent and a couple of heaters outside did the trick! My daughter and her new husband exited on a boat that evening after the reception....very fun!!!! What a great place for a wedding!!

The Island House is an incredible outdoor wedding venue. The view is amazing and the staff is incredible to work with. The contract includes a lot of the items you would normally have to rent such as tables and chairs. The grounds are immaculately kept and the flowers blooming were a bonus! Paul was great and met us out at the location several times to answer any questions that we may have had. The venue is secluded and the space is large enough to accommodate a big wedding. We have nothing but great things to say about this venue and our guests loved being on the water. This venue is all about LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! If you want to be on the water but away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown Charleston, then choose The Island House!

The Island House was absolutely perfect for our wedding! The venue is breathtaking! The best part on the experience was the on-site coordinator, Lynn. She was fabulous! She knew exactly what needed to be done and did it seamlessness. The overall wedding experience was so wonderful. The overall ambiance at The Island House was more than we could have ever hoped for, and thanks to The Island House team it was truly the most amazing day ever!

The Island House was our dream venue for our spring wedding. It is a very private setting on the water and a beautiful place for our ceremony and reception. Since we first contacted The Island House, they responded quickly to emails and phone calls. They were flexible with our access to the venue for tours, bridal portraits and the rehearsal. They offer a large portion of the rentals needed for a ceremony and reception with the rental cost, which we found very beneficial. The ceremony and reception were beautiful and we couldn't have found kinder people to work with!

We absolutely loved The Island House for our wedding! It is a gorgeous venue right on the Stono River which provides for a beautiful sunset over the water. Paul is wonderful to work with! He is extremely helpful and flexible which proves invaluable while planning a wedding. He worked with us to make everything run smoothly. One of our guests called it "a fairy tale wedding". I would highly suggest The Island House to anyone!

Absolutely the most beautiful wedding venue! My husband and I highly recommend booking with The Island House. They were easy and so pleasant to work with! The price with rentals included was very reasonable for a location in Charleston as well. Everything about our day was spectacular and wouldn't change a thing! Thank you!

The Island House is a beautiful location that my wife and I instantly fell in love with! The staff there is professional and responsive, but can sometimes be difficult to get in touch with.
Value is unmatched by any other outdoor venue in the area! There is a large tent along with tables and chairs already included in the quoted price which ends up saving a significant amount of money over any other venue in the area.
Cons:
Our wedding was mid-May, so it was still a little bit warm out, and once everyone was under the tent for the reception, a lot of heat was trapped under the tent which made it a little bit warm, but nothing too uncomfortable.
Due to the heat, the icing on our cake starting running which ruined how the cake looked by the time we cut it. I would defiinitely recommend going with fondant as opposed to straight icing in order to help preserve a cake in the heat. (It didn't help that our wedding planner decided to shine a high powered light on the cake).
Even though the Island House sprays for bugs every Friday, and we spent extra from an outside vendor to spray that day, there were still bugs (this is Charleston after all). We planned ahead for this by providing bug spray for our guests. However, we didn't forsee bugs which would get stuck in the icing on our cake. After the cake had been sitting out on display, we noticed that gnats were getting stuck in the icing. If I had to do it over again, I would have setup fans around the cake to disrupt the flight of nearby bugs.
The bathrooms smelled kind of nasty by the end of the night.
The list of cons were minor, and did not affect the overall experience of our wedding. The Island House is an overall great value on an absolutely gorgeous location!

The Island house is the PERFECT venue in Charleston. They have a house for the weddign party to get ready in and the reception tent is included in the venue price which is an awesome deal! The view is amazing and you don't even need that many extra decorations for the ceremony because the water along with the flower field are beautiful as they are!

When looking for a wedding venue, we knew that we wanted something that really showcased the natural beauty of the lowcountry. We looked at quite a few sites before we found and fell in love with the Island House. It was perfect for us--gave us a wonderful canvas to showcase the beauty of the flowers, trees, water, tranquility, etc. that we love about Charleston. The value was better than any other place that we looked--having a well maintained tent was such a bonus for us since we knew that we wanted an outdoor venue. We had minimal decoration beyond high quality flowers and lighting...and it really was a stunning wedding. It was a huge bonus for me that we could also use the house to get ready before the ceremony. This is such a great Charleston-area venue that our guests really loved!

Beautiful and private venue. Take bug spray if you have an evening wedding. A little lacking in the attendant on duty on the wedding day. All of the tables were not out and when we asked about them we were told where to go get them rather than them getting them for us (as if we didn't have enough to do that day already). Also they locked the house up before I could do a walk thru to make sure we had gotten eveything. Owner was very apologetic and said they had some new staff at that time. Also mailed what we left behind quickly. Everything else was very professional.

The venue is a BEAUTIFUL spot on the Stono River. I think they have done a wonderful job with the look and feel of the venue. The price is great as it includes tables and chairs. They also do a great job of letting you stop by as needed. We had to come by there multiple times over the course of the planing the wedding and it was never an issue. The only negative was that it sometimes took a while to hear back anything either through email or phone. However on that negative, they did always respond and provided lots of help! GREAT, BEAUTIFUL venue!

Amazing location.

Beautiful venue. Lucked into having portable AC units from a wedding the previous day. Were told that people would be available to help day of, but 1 lady present. Our guests had to move all of the chairs from ceremony to reception themselves in 93 degree temps. Also some hiccups with vendors setting up as no one really there to help direct them, but the venue was worth it. Would do it again but would make sure to have a coordinator

The site was beautiful!! Well worth the drive out of charleston. A big plus is you can pick your vendors!
